Ways To Build Self Respect

Many people recovering from addiction are struggling with self-esteem.

A lot of people who enter rehabilitation are afflicted by guilt and are unable to accept their own guilt for past mistakes. The ability to forgive yourself and respect yourself is crucial to long-term healing.

Self-respect, like happiness, cannot be simply'switched on'. A lot of people who are in dire need of self-respect, seek out a quick fix to feel better. This could include buying a brand-new car or new clothes or even displaying an arrogant attitude to appear superior. Maybe letting other people intrude on their space because any type of focus makes them feel more confident.

Self-forgiveness
