Ok, so I can't be the only non content creator that gets pissed off when they see stolen work, right?? Like, I have tik tok, and those ripped off Tumbler posts come across my fyp (sometimes from blogs I already follow) and it incites this rage in me to see so many people actively ignoring that it is stolen content. Unfortunately, I think tik tok is overwhelmingly becoming full of lazy theifs who steal content (not just off of tumbler, but radio shows have had their audios ripped off, youtubers have had their videos taken and grafted onto others as well). It bothers me that I have to take the time out of my day to leave a comment to remind them that theft is not a victimless crime, and yes, they are bad people for doing it. Because like... apparently, their parents were simply too absent to teach them this basic lesson.
@stealingyourbones I'm sorry that I've seen this happen to you so often, it's not right.
#i dont usually post#but the amount of times ive seen this is astounding#stop stealing#protecting creators is essential to continuing a fandom

Egregores: The Power of Collective Thoughtforms
Have you ever walked into a place and immediately felt a specific vibe—like an old church that radiates reverence or a concert venue buzzing with excitement? That, my friends, is the subtle but potent influence of an egregore—a collective thoughtform created by shared beliefs, emotions, and energy.
Today, we’re diving into the fascinating world of egregores, their origins, how they manifest in both spiritual and mundane spaces, and how you can consciously work with them (or avoid being sucked into one you don’t want to be part of).
What Exactly is an Egregore?
The term egregore (sometimes spelled egregor) comes from the Greek word egregoroi, meaning "watchers" or "guardians." Historically, it was tied to mystical and esoteric traditions, but the concept exists in many cultures. Essentially, an egregore is a thoughtform created by a collective’s focus and intention, developing an independent existence that can influence its creators.
Think of it like a spiritual group project—except this one has a mind of its own. The more people pour belief, energy, and ritual into an idea, the stronger and more autonomous the egregore becomes. Some are consciously created (like in magical lodges or covens), while others emerge naturally from social movements, fandoms, or even corporations.
Examples of Egregores in Everyday Life
Religious & Spiritual Egregores – Saints, deities, and even guardian angels can take on egregoric qualities when communities continuously direct prayer and devotion toward them. While many spiritual entities exist independently, some lesser-known spirits may have been created through belief.
Political & Social Movements – Ever notice how a political ideology or online movement takes on a life of its own? That’s an egregore at work—whether it’s the energy of revolution or the near-religious fervor of die-hard fans in a debate.
Corporate & Brand Egregores – Yes, that’s right. Large brands like Apple, Disney, and Starbucks have egregores. Their logos alone evoke specific feelings and associations, and the loyalty of their followers fuels their energetic presence.
Fandoms & Online Communities – Ever feel the overwhelming energy at a convention or the all-consuming obsession of an online group? Fandoms create incredibly strong egregores, shaping culture, trends, and sometimes even reality through collective belief.
Haunted Locations – Some haunted places aren’t haunted by ghosts but by the repeated belief that they are. Enough people fearing, respecting, or interacting with a location can create an egregore of its own, acting like a living ghost story.
Creating & Working With Egregores Consciously
If egregores exist all around us, how do we work with them consciously—rather than just being influenced by them?
Awareness is Key – Recognizing egregores in your life helps you determine if their influence is positive or draining. Ask yourself: What am I feeding with my energy?
Intentional Creation – If you’re in a magical or spiritual practice, you can create an egregore for protection, wisdom, or even personal motivation. This requires structured rituals, clear intention, and regular reinforcement.
Cutting Ties When Needed – Not all egregores serve your best interests. If a community, belief system, or even a brand identity starts feeling toxic, it may be time to cut energetic ties through meditation, ritual, or conscious detachment.
Using Egregores for Manifestation – If large groups can shape reality through belief, imagine what focused intention can do in your personal practice. Tapping into an egregore aligned with your goals (like a prosperity deity or a motivational movement) can amplify your magic.
Final Thoughts
Egregores are everywhere—from the sacred to the mundane, from ancient temples to your favorite fandom. They shape our thoughts, emotions, and actions more than we realize. Whether you choose to work with them or keep a healthy skepticism, understanding their power gives you a unique advantage in navigating both magical and everyday life.
So, what egregores are you part of—consciously or unconsciously?

I hate to agree with the aforementioned blog but sadly it's how I have understood the writers intentions too.
I think the choices to include domestic violence and racial undertones in the trial speak for themselves. As well as the choice to portray the loumand relationship and the loustat relationship as toxic as they did - much more so than the books. In the books lestat and louis might have brawled but it was not nearly as bad as the scene in ep 5. Armand manipulated louis but he also protected him, didn't brain fry him or let him die like in the show. In the books the loustat relationship with claudia was doomed because she was literally 5 but they didn't use her they way they did (to the point she died from it) in the show.
These are conscious choices by the show. The way they change and warp the characters to something that does not quite match to the book dynamic is essentially the conversation that the Fandom has been having since episode 1x5. It does not match and it never will. The show will be its own thing and while they follow the books plotwise the way the characters act is not the same.
They may have added armand changing louis memories as a tool to cover up his lies but i don't think that will change the core of the creative changes I have mentioned above. The drop will still have happened the way it did, the trial did happen and took months to prepare which changes the entire dynamic of lestat and his part of it from the books (again), claudia still died being used a pawn for armand, lestat, Louis, santiago.
Based on the comments from rolin and sam season 3 will give us lestats perspective and backstory we will understand where he is coming from and the hurt he carries.
Thus the conversation per abuse apology and racism will carry on indefinitely. Not sure what to make of all this myself going forward but I wish the creators understood the domino effect these choices have.
Sorry for the long post ! It's okay if you don't agree I wanted to vent a little and hear someone else's thoughts on this 😊
??? Which blog? That post that lied about me and what I said??
Because I do agree that this conversation is intentional and will continue?!!
Have you read my posts? I have pointed out that the drop happened, I have pointed out that the fight itself is its own thing. I have also pointed out that I think that the (only) part SAM talked about in the video, of the "thing that makes Lestat do things" might pertain to the outside part - and likely that only to Amel.
AND I SAID THAT I DO NOT LIKE IT.
I DO NOT LIKE THEM TYING AMEL WITH THAT FIGHT AND WHAT THAT MEANS.
REPEATEDLY.
I don't know how much clearer I have to or can make that.
Like, if you cannot read that post, and see that the author is just twisting my words and throwing shit at me to see what sticks then I really don't know what to say to you.
Watch the video to see why I made my statements re Amel.
Here. Because Sam spills something there.
youtube
And please - IF YOU COME TO ME AT LEAST KNOW WHAT I ACTUALLY SAID.

Highly sensitive
read it on AO3 at https://archiveofourown.org/works/52322542 by LadyPolyester Spock, turning his gaze towards his captain, speaks in a firm, composed tone. "Jim, I would appreciate it if you'd let go of my hand. I can manage it myself, and it's essential to keep it still to prevent further irritation until we can get back to the ship for continued treatment." Kirk, somewhat taken aback by Spock's request yet ever mindful of his well-being, responds with a slight frown, "I don't mind holding your hand, Spock. Masterpost
Hello, this is a quick collection of all my work as a small writer. Basically links to my Ao3 stories and short summaries. Current fandoms include, Httyd, Pokemon (specifically Legends Arceus and submas), Spyro, and a (old, also bad) fnaf story. Fair warning, pretty much every story has at least one character losing their humanity to some degree. I also don't writing romance as I'm decently confidently I'm aroace to some degree and don't know how to writing it... so I don't.
The Queen's Demand Httyd oneshot. Basically Hiccup becomes a half dragon.
The Dragon Mage: Horrible Beginnings Httyd. Part one of a planned trilogy. Basic premise is a Magic AU.
Rise of the Soul Bonded Draugr Httyd. A stand alone story. It's a weird one with a rushed start. Not my best work. Basically Soulmate/spirit animal mix with necromancer Red Death.
Ghost of a Future Problem Pokemon Legends Arceus. Zoroark Oc story, profile icon for reference. Don't want to spoil too much, but it starts with a dead body.
Ghostly Rage Pokemon Legends Arceus and crossover with another creators work. Original work made by patriamrealm here on tumblr titled The Iceland Ghost. Idea was a story about putting a character in the background and gaining a Zoroark aspect.
Vengeance of the Lost Continuation of Ghostly Rage that makes splits it away from the original work by making the Oc interact with more character and taking a more active role.
Warming Frosted Souls (with Ice Cream) Final part of Ghostly Rage Story because I couldn't leave it alone. Takes place in present Unova.
Perception of man (It's a lot worse than you think) Indulgent story about a Zoroark taking the place of the protag of pokemon Black and White. Uses Ocs from Hoofpeet though they aren't doing anything with the characters anymore.
Dragon... Species? Pokemon Legend Arceus and Spyro Trilogy crossover. Warning warp speed writing. It was an impulse story that didn't have a ending in mind when it was started.
Hell isn't What is Seems Fnaf Security Breach. This was first ever story. It extremely self indulgent and not very good as it is essentially everything and anything I wanted to throw into a story. In hindsight it is a bad story.
Ocs
Zork GoFP Description: true form is an extremely large Hisuian Zoroark by the end of the story, about 3x regular size. Starts off regular size and wears red jacket with a similarly colored Gear Station Depot agent hat. Also has a sword with the Twin Dragon's head carved into the crossguard. Human form is an extremely pale man with long white hair. Wear's the same clothes at his Zoroark form, though he stops wearing them outside of the hat after growing in that form. Also has sickly yellow irises when pretending to be human. Overview: Worked as security at Gear Station, specializing in taking care threats a pokemon battle couldn't. IE, drunks, sore losers, people with weapons, Team Plasma. Refused to use pokemon to keep skills sharp and it throw people off. Pretty mad at Arceus after death and protective of those harmed by the will of the gods, though is very limited in what they can do without mess with time.
Zork GR: Description: Similar to GoFP's human form but doesn't have the hat when covering his aspect. Instead has the Baneful Fox Mask on. Without the illusion, he has a snout and yellow eyes similar to his pokemon partners. His skin is unnaturally white to match the pokemon and also has flexible red claws for fingers. His hair is tipped red and he is unable to wear shoes because of have paws instead of feet. Legs are human otherwise. Overview: Worked Security (not at Gear station). Refused to have a pokemon but still took part in recreational battling against people with aspects. Did it to set a stupidly high bar for himself, sees it as dumb in hindsight. He's also mad at Arceus, but knows he can't retaliate, more mad at Kamado for trying to get him killed. Also pissed at Volo after finding out his role in getting him stuck in Hisu. Once he gets back he just wants to rebuild his life and make a better one for the pack of Zoroark that took him in.
Bliz HiWS: Description: Initially used a base shell copying Monty, lacked hair and was a slat gray with a belly stomach. After a redesign, he kept the blue stomach, but went with a darker gray. Also added gold face paint and lightning styled wrap around hands. Has "cracks" in his shell that light up. Head was reshaped to fit closer to a desert lizard with bumpier surface, shorter snout and looks more like he was a beard. Overview: Former Fazbear entertainment mechanic. He got suspicious of what was happening at night so attempted to bypass security but looking like an animatronic with an improved springlock suit. You can guess what ended up happening. Since the suit didn't have any programming to tell him hw to respond to serve as a replacement brain, his emotional responses got messed with. He sees himself as a martyr and tries to work himself to the bone, believing that his sole purpose for coming back was to end the nightmare going on around them. Weapon of choice is a self made "war ax" consisting of a tungsten sledge hammer head, steel handle, ax blade and spike. (I did the math and the head would be about forty lbs). He also has a habit of tinkering with his own body.
Turnstin TDM: (Hasn't appeared in a story yet, will in sequal to The Dragon Mage) Description: Average height for a viking, skinny, with blackish-purple hair that always sticks back. Wears a long cloak that is very old and damaged. Has rusted shackles on his wrists, that no longer have chains. He has a goatee and eyes glow an electric blue in the dark. Overview: Former dragon hunter before discovering he could use magic and getting betrayed by his crewmates. Lives near The Hidden World and has a thing for lightning. Everyone that knows of him thinks he's insane. Stories about him call him "The Disgrace of Thor."

CHARACTER NAME: rowan murphy / cian Ó muircheartaigh CHARACTER FACECLAIM: freddy carter CHARACTER AGE/DOB (if relevant/they're not old af): december 18th 1676 / 348 this year CHARACTER PRONOUNS/GENDER IDENTITY/SEXUALITY ETC: he/they, non binary, greyace, aroflux, polyam CHARACTER FANDOM (if relevant):n/a OC OR CANON: oc CHARACTER TYPE (for example: werewolf, shadowhunter, warlock, demon etc): wizard HOW LONG HAVE THEY BEEN IN NEW YORK/WHY ARE THEY THERE ETC: arrived just after the ball in paris. mostly, he's there looking for his long lost friend, evie. but he also figures now is probably the best time to get Involved in shit, after what happened at the ball IMPORTANT CHARACTER INFORMATION TO NOTE AND SHARE (this could be important headcanons for initial plotting, mini bios etc, supporting docs):
upon first look, rowan murphy would appear your average kind of magic user. unassuming. bit of a book and history nerd. it's only once you delve deeper, get to know him and understand what you're working with, that the depths of his power and history could be understood. a strange kind of aura, there is the impression you are dealing with something much, much older. connected to ancient magics.
and actually, that is true. rowan is old beyond even his almost 400 years. in fact, rowan was once cian, a powerful magic user from 500 A.D. one who went on to discover lochmoor island alongside four other talented friends, and decide to build a place of safety and education for all those that wished to seek it out.
the lochmoor institute is born and, for many many years, it provides exactly what those that created it aimed for: a safe harbour for all those with magic in their blood to come. to learn. to share and grow.
those that built the school also dove into some 'darker', more complex types of magic… the kinds that bind souls together. the kinds that, essentially, tether them to the magic of their lands and that, even in death, will inevitably bring them back. all five souls tangled, set to repeat and return. all with the aim to keep lochmoor going, to continue the legacy.
that is until a good while later (like, we're talking late 1300s), the island comes under attack from those wishing to erase magic users from existence.
essentially, an all out war breaks out, with losses on both sides. it utterly breaks the five that built lochmoor up from nothing but worse is when they lose one of their own-- cian and his entire family are killed. and in the destruction and fires, it's not long before all are lost. killed. but more than that-- lochmoor itself is obliterated, wiped off the map. and for those that knew of lochmoor but managed to escape, it becomes a long spoke of story-- something passed down through generations.
nobody could quite understand why it all happened. but worse still, was the fact that none of the five creators of lochmoor returned.
until 1676 when a boy is born in ireland and, as he grows, begins to remember who he really is. and so, sets out on a path to recover his true home.
at 32 years old, rowan finally manages to locate lochmoor again. and what is most strange, is that everything on the island remains as if no harm had ever touched it. moved, certainly. no longer located in scotland, lochmoor island was found amid other greek islands, as if waiting to welcome him home.
since then, rowan has worked tirelessly to bring lochmoor back into the magical world. secretive, protective of course. but rowan does so with the hope of providing what they once had. and, of course, with the hope that one day he will be reunited with those he loved and lost.
which, surprise! it only took a few hundred years, but bam, the ball he was a part of alongside the clave & rieker seemed to provide just that. as quite literally, rowan ran into the reincarnation of one of those lost founders. yeah, she may have punched him in the face and then abruptly left, but… well. it could have been worse. and now he's in new york both to find her, and perhaps finally put his toes into the chaos that has been unfolding in their world, especially after the events of the ball. THREE AESTHETICS THAT REMIND YOU OF YOUR CHARACTER:
the scent of a candle burning in the night, light flickering and casting shadows across a stack of old books.
the gentle brush of a black cat around your ankles.
clear, bright moonlight ahead without a cloud in sight.

So I know absolutely nothing about Leverage except what I've been seeing you post lately and I have to admit you're making it look tempting to watch! Can I ask what are some of your favorite things about the show/reasons you would suggest people watch it? And is there really a poly relationship that is canon?
Okay. Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay. I am going to do my best not to just “asdfghkjl” at you and answer coherently.
In a nutshell, Leverage is about 5 people. 4 are criminals (Parker, Hardison, Eliot and Sophie) with different and unique skill-sets and 1 is an ex-insurance investigator (Nate) who, at one point or another in his career, has tracked down (or at least attempted to) the other 4. The whole show is essentially: man reluctantly reforms 4 criminals to use their criminal powers for good and 4 criminals move into man’s life and stubbornly refuse to leave because, goddammit, now they have morals.
I’ve got a lot of favourite things about the show but the main ones are as follows:
1. Found family. And I’m not talking about loners who come together to fight crime and happen to co-exist to the point where they realise they happen to have found themselves a family. I mean, Nate and Sophie are the Drunk Uncle and Wine Aunt who somehow become Mom and Dad to 3 beautiful criminal children. Mom and Dad love their criminal babies and the kids love them (as well as each other, but we’ll come to that in a moment). You get amazing family moments such as: Mom and Dad packing the kids lunch before sending them out to kick corporate greed’s ass; Mom and Dad giving the kids ridiculously expensive and personal Christmas presents causing their most Grumpy Kid to go very very quiet and soft as he runs off to gleefully play with his new murder toy; the kids interrupting Mom and Dad’s big Movie Style Kiss to ask if they can please keep their new underground layer and huffing and puffing when Dad tells them no.
2. Found family: the OT3 edition. To answer your question, the OT3 is indeed canon, confirmed by the creator. Now, usually, “confirmed by the creator” infuriates me because most of the time it’s a way for a creator to be seen as “progressive” without doing anything to actually be progressive. That isn’t the case here. The OT3 are built up carefully and while it is obvious the creators didn’t originally intend for all 3 of them to become a relationship in the romantic sense, by mid-season 5 we are given a very clear picture of where Parker, Hardison and Eliot are heading in their relationship. There aren’t any kisses at the end to signal this but there are solid marriage vows in not only one but two episodes. (And by marriage vows I mean literal equivalents of marriage vows: “for better or worse” and “’til death do us part”. I’m not even exaggerating). The OT3 also doesn’t need explicit romantic narratives to convey how much they love each other. Their love is laced through the whole show, from the way they teach each other things to the way they respond to each other and work as a unit. The way they fiercely protect and admire each other. Like someone once said, if you need characters to kiss or say I love you to let the audience know they love each other, you are writing them wrong.
Aside from that, each of the parings in the OT3 are just. Gah. They are so well done, with friendship being the solid basis for them all. The creators never expect the audience to assume anything about them or fill in the gaps. They give us their relationships on screen and reference many things off-screen to show us how these relationships continue to build in between episodes.
Hardison and Parker are a canon couple and date in the show: it’s approached slowly and they are so goddamned sweet. They are basically every fluffy slow-burn trope with a healthy dash of mutual pining in the mix. They are basically that quote “love is patient, love is kind”. (I would like to add their romance never becomes the focus of the show or overrides the importance of any other relationship they have with the other characters, especially Eliot.)
Hardison and Eliot are the Old Married Couple and from day one are already bickering and looking at each other/making comments that are found in every UST fic ever (not to mention Hardison has a very good knack for making Eliot grin like a little kid, when usually he’s basically an Angry Little Chef Man). They argue, they play, and love each other plain as day.
Parker and Eliot are more subtle but every bit as wonderful. They have an unspoken connection and understand each other on a level no-one else can. Parker and Eliot are not good with giving themselves over to affection for different reasons (and Hardison plays a central role in helping them realise it’s okay to want it and have it- that boy has endless patience) but there is something so beautiful in the way the two of them come together on their own and develop their own special bond that works for them. Parker and Eliot are that trope where the characters don’t need to speak to understand each other perfectly. They just do. Their love language is a lot of the time non-verbal but speaks volumes. (Parker also likes to annoy the hell out of Eliot and Eliot....just.....lets...her. Because he’s soft. The softest, grumpiest boy.)
I could go into so much depth for each pairing and their dynamics as a 3 but that's for another post.
3. Subverting stereotypes. There is the occasional hiccup in the show regarding stereotypes but ultimately, Leverage gets an A+ when it comes to writing characters and making them 3 dimensional people who are not defined by certain characteristics or events. Nate could so easily fall into the White Man Pain trope where he uses the trauma of losing his kid as a reason as to why he is entitled to act like a dick. Nate is a dick but he doesn’t use his pain to excuse it and I appreciate that. Hardison is a black man who is soft and nurturing. Easily the most empathetic and patient of the group. He’s nerdy, an actual genius, and has the biggest heart of all the characters. Nate is maybe the glue but Hardison is definitely the heart. Media’s usual aggressive, amongst other, racist stereotypes can fuck right off. Parker is canonically autistic (I am sure this was confirmed by one of the creators) and she is not defined by it. It’s not written as some kind of singular personality trait. It’s part of what makes up Parker but it’s only one facet of who she is and not once is her actions, thoughts or feelings treated like a joke. Sometimes people don’t understand why she does and says the things she does but it’s met with patience and fondness over the course of the show. Equally, it’s not met with over-caution. Parker is just Parker. No-one tries to change her. The other nice thing is Hardison, who always makes sure Parker knows she’s amazing because of who she is and not in spite of it. Finally, Sophie is in her 40s. She’s not treated like she’s past her prime. Ever. She’s sexy, smart and never is she pitted against or compared to Parker (who is younger) for anything. Sophie is amazing and there’s never even a conversation of “I may be older but I am still *insert adjective typically associated with younger women here*”. Sophie is possibly the first female character I’ve ever seen who isn’t just unapologetic about her age but has never had to apologise for her age. It’s a non-issue and that’s that. The women on the show are written so well, right down to secondary characters and it’s beyond refreshing.
4.) It’s just fun. The show has a “monster of the week” type format. Except instead of a ghoul or a ghost, the monster is some corrupt wealthy and powerful individual or organisation. The show draws on real-life individuals to do this and therefore closely parallels real-life people and events. It addresses important political, economical, social and environmental issues while at the same time remaining fun and light-hearted. The characters constantly get the chance to play dress up and by GOD do they have fun with it. You get to watch Eliot beat up bad guys in the most delightful of ways, usually after a witty non-sequitur and with a weapon you’d never think could be a weapon. The dialogue and back and forth between the characters is everything. And finally - my favourite thing- the team can never resist striking a dramatic pose after they’ve taken down the bad guy, making sure the bad guy sees them. I mean, they COULD just walk away, satisfied they’ve taken the person down, but nope. They gotta be dramatic bitches 24/7 and pose like they are models for every single month of this year’s Criminal Calendar.
5.) Competence Porn. So. Much. Competence Porn.
Honestly, I could list a thousand reasons for why Leverage is amazing but to list them would to be spoiling so many amazing moments you’d get to discover for the first time on your own if you do choose to watch it. It’s the kind of show you can watch with an eagle-eye and sink your teeth into. But it’s also the kind of show if, you would prefer, put on in the background for something entertaining while you do something else. Each episode is about the job at hand but it’s made up of so many moments between the characters that show how much the creators and writers care about them. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll do whatever it is you do when something Soft and Wonderful happens that makes your heart melt. I am so beyond grateful for Leverage. It’s everything I always wanted in a show. Nearly every show I’ve watched in the past 10 years has disappointed me in some way, usually either because the writers run out of steam or characters who I love are treated poorly or given some kind of unnecessary “shock value” arc. Leverage doesn’t do that. Leverage is what it says on the bottle. Fandom isn’t something I joined because I needed canon fix-its. Fandom only enhances and celebrates an already excellent canon.

Paul Campbell posted this video today eloquently bashing the Deck the Hallmark podcast for being unnecessarily harsh with their review of Moriah’s Lighthouse which he proudly co-wrote. He also called them out for asking Hallmark talent for favors so they can essentially continue to bash the movies the actors, writers, etc. are involved in.
I decided to go see what he was referencing and here’s some of the highlights from their review:
“Train wreck bad”
“Unbelievably boring”
One guy thought the Jen Lilley movie was better
“So unbelievably dull... it hurts to watch”
Worse than all the summer (trash heap) movies from last year
Big issues with the title and that the lighthouse isn’t Moriah’s
They made fun of some Canadian award an actor was nominated for
Luke’s characters was “next level doofus”
Needless to say, they weren’t fans of it.
Some people enjoy bashing the movies and I get it. Some of them are pretty bad. We all have movies or actors we don’t like and it’s easy to pick them apart. It’s all in good fun for the normal person. But these are guys profiting from this. They’ve earned some notoriety because of the podcast. They’re able to get a lot of actors to come on and talk to them about their upcoming movies and then go on to make fun of the movies when they do their reviews. It almost feels like a bait and switch.
Maybe some of the actors don’t care (most probably haven’t even listened to the podcast) but I can certainly understand why Paul was so upset and didn’t appreciate the comments. It’s obviously something he takes personally especially when he is always focused on the Hallmark fandom as a whole. He loves the movies and the community of creators involved in them. Many are his friends and collaborators. He’s very protective of what the movies represent for people. I doubt the hosts of the podcast mean any harm but I think Paul made some great points.

Anr enthusiast shoved their fanfic down everyone throats, marketed it as a superior version of the source material, really were hoping that it will become more popular than canon, but now that the entire fandom making a mockery of anr, they are crying that people won't let them enjoy their fanfic in peace, that it is just a fanwork. Well if they actually did treat it like just another fanwork they wouldn't be in this situation right now
I said I wasn't going to talk about this project again but with recent controversy causing it to be all over twitter at the moment I want to use this ask to explain why. So thank you anon for reminding me.
What worries me most about the anr project has nothing to do with its content but rather that the publicity they are getting (both positive and negative) could harm other transformative works.
With the ease of AO3, it’s easy to forget what a thin line we walk in terms of copyright. AO3 exists because a legal team has fought for the right of works to be there and is standing ready to protect the archive. Fic posted elsewhere do not have that protection.
Doujinshi are another thing entirely. The loophole of their existence is tenuous at best. I strongly recommend everyone read this excellent article “Japan’s Doujinshi Culture Of Creativity Through Theft (And The Monster Trying To Destroy It)”, to understand just how fragile that existence truly is. Doujinshi writers are vigilant about abiding by the rules. They respect for those rules out of a desire to be allowed to continue to operate.
Doujinshi made outside of Japan are subject to their own countries copyright laws. It's also worth being aware that fan works posted outside of AO3 can’t rely on the OTW’s Legal Team.
As content creators, we're all essentially hiding in the same hole. Drawing attention puts all of us in danger. That's why I am asking, if you hate the project, hate it quietly and if you love it, love it quietly.
To the contributors of the @aotnorequiem fan projects, please read and understand what doujinshi is before you start claiming protection under the rules of its dominion. It’s not as simple as slapping a label on your work. A fan work being not for profit is not enough to save it from potential claims of copyright infringement. You are making a transformative work, but you have no real protections here except to hope that everyone with a legal right to Attack on Titan (Kodansha, Bessatsu Shonen, MAPPA and so on) decides to ignore you.
Thanks for the ask!

Part 5 - Basic Concepts of Miraculous Ladybug: Guardians
Helloooo! Did you think I was done? No!
My PhD thesis chapters were approved last week, so have some celebratory meta. I haven't seen the latest Season 4 episodes, so do forgive me for not being up to date.
Welcome to the next part of my analysis of the basic concepts of Miraculous Ladybug. Today we are talking about Master Fu, Order of the Guardians and how little everything here makes sense. I highly recommend reading previous parts to fully understand this one, but I'll try to quote most parts of earlier posts.
Order of the Guardians
Order is an international and ancient organisation (New York Special showed us the guardian from North America and he was dressed like Su Han). Presumably, Miraculous jewels were created by these people. Guardians are responsible for the preservation of jewels and knowledge about them. They also distribute Miraculouses to worthy people around the world to combat mostly magical threats, but sometimes jewels are used against normal threats too. It's implied that Master Fu used Miraculouses during WW2 when he was in Paris. Perhaps he performed some spywork with Marianne, but the magical nature of his interferences was discovered and he was forced to flee, before returning to France many decades later.
Why does the Order need so many people to take care of a 3 Miracle Boxes? If its only purpose is to preserve knowledge, keep magical secrets and distribute Miraculous jewels then wouldn't it be more logical to have Master-Apprentice system? It's much easier to keep magic knowledge a secret and train a few people in martial arts than doing the same in the self-sufficient temple full of people, keeping in mind that a good part of them are teenagers and children, who are bad at keeping secrets. Also a single person can travel around the world much easier to give out Miraculouses. Imagine that we have a few active guardians traveling the world with Boxes. What do other people at the temple do in the meantime? They teach the next generation about the powers of each Miraculous and Mirakung Fu, but besides that?
Master-Apprentice system gives us more personal conflict between Fu and his mentor and makes his relationship with Marinette and Adrien more nuanced. In this scenario Fu accidentally caused the death of his Master at 14 because he wasn't careful. It makes sense for him to take on only 1 or 2 students if this is how things were done with Miraculous Guardians. This Wang Fu is very cautious and protective, he spent the majority of his life afraid of hurting someone else and never took an apprentice as a result. But now he is ready to try again, since he is not getting any younger and he likes these 2 kids. He wants them to succeed. Maybe Master Fu, becomes the father figure for Adrien in this situation and a guide for Marinette. Just think about it. This way writers avoid the need to develop all these extra characters (Su Han) and traditions related to the Order. All inconsistencies I mentioned before and later in this post are gone now! Hell, even memory loss and the changing of the Miracle Box shape could make more sense. We also raise the stakes post-amnesia, if it happens of course (the whole Season 3 finale didn't make sense, so stay tuned for my next meta). Marinette and Adrien are on their own now, there's no one who can give them answers. It's very fun scenario, which has potential to be brilliant. Any thoughts on that?
The existence of Order of the Guardians is not quite a secret, at least it wasn't in XIX century China. Master Fu in "Feast" says that guardianship was considered "a great honor". It implies that people who lived close to the temple of the Order knew about Miraculouses and what exactly guardians did for the greater good.
The existence of other Miracle Boxes around the world makes sense from a real-life perspective. Writers have the ability to create many stories set in the same universe and use them for merchandise and an almost unlimited amount of content. Judging by the unholy amount of specials in production, this is exactly what the creators are going to do. It probably won't go down well, but who knows?
However, it doesn't work in our main story. The main conflict is Paris-centred. Gabriel's motivations revolve around Emilie's resurrection and Season 4 gives us more reasons to suspect that Adrien's mom wasn't as wonderful as everyone says. Hawkmoth still remains the main villain of the show and most likely it's going to stay that way. There's no point in moving the main story to different places for the sake of introducing more Miracle Boxes from around the world. Ladybug and Chat Noir aren't needed to fight something halfway across the world unless Hawkmoth also changes locations.
LB and CN are centrepieces of this franchise. They brought success and money to ZAG. Creators constantly need to remind the audience that this new piece of media with new characters who will never be mentioned again is connected to Miraculous Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir. Writers have to come up with reasons to include our heroic duo into the story even if makes no sense.
New York Special had to introduce American Heroes whose names rarely come up in the fandom because people stopped caring about them or their stories shortly after the release of the Special. I barely saw any content dedicated to them. In order to bring LB and CN into the story, you have to include Hawkmoth too. Gabriel suddenly needs to get his hands on the Eagle Miraculous and goes to USA. Marinette and Adrien suddenly have a class trip to New York. Unfortunately, their presence in this story is required only to expand the world of Miraculous and attract fans of the show, so that they could keep an eye on new content related to newly introduced characters.
In the end, it's not their story. Events of the special don't affect main story of the show and the development of the love square is merely an illusion, because Adrien and Marinette are no closer than before. In season 4 LB and CN are growing apart and their test of trust in NY Special doesn't matter. Perhaps, some people don't see it that way and it's their right, but I find it hard to see NYS as a valid contribution to canon. I mean, even people in large portion of the fandom state in the tags on AO3 that "specials are not canon", "specials didn't happen" or "ignores both specials". It speaks volumes about continuity and preferences of your fandom.
Shanghai Special didn't give us more information about the Order, which is located in China, history of Miraculous jewels. We still don't know much about how Gabriel and Emilie found Peacock and Butterfly. Maybe, Marinette's family had connections to Miraculous jewels. Maybe, Adrien does some snooping and discovers research his parents made while Gabriel is away. All of these are relevant to the main story. However, we got something much different in the end.
Marinette chases Adrien across the globe and they make new friends. Fey becomes Ladydragon and now has a direct contact with Marinette through her uncle. Gabriel's desire to get his hands on the Prodigious comes out of nowhere. Apparently, he had been planning this trip for years, presumably even before Adrien was born. It probably happened at the same time as Agrestes found 2 Miraculouses. He bought bracelet-key (which is also a Miraculous apparently, but its Kwami is a Guardian of the Prodigious and they existed separately for a very long time - and let us not dwell on this mess) from some shady mafia boss, who can easily find out just who Gabriel really is (fashion designer billionaire) and use this information to blackmail him. This Special didn't answer important questions, but it gave us a new superhero character.
The real question is whether Miraculous as a project will survive long enough for writers to create content for every minor character they introduced in all specials. This is only a beginning after all.
Miraculous is not a global show and it can't be globalised in a way that makes sense, at least with Ladybug and Chat Noir in the centre of action. Case closed.
Mirakung Fu
I liked the idea of Mirakung Fu introduced in "Furious Fu". It makes sense and things rarely do in this show. Miraculous grants its holder superhuman strength, stamina, endurance and ability to fight. This means that essentially transformed heroes are guided by magic in combat. There's nothing personal in the way Miraculous holders fight. You can predict their moves and learn how to fight this magic guidance, which is what Su Han does.
However, if the holder has any special training, skills or knows any martial art in their civilian life then they become more dangerous opponents during transformation because now their fighting is a mix of magical moves and their personal knowledge, tricks and style. Therefore, Adrien and Kagami as skilful fencers have more chances of winning against someone who knows Mirakung Fu than Marinette, for example.
Memory loss
At the end of season 3, we find out several things:
apparently, now Miracle Box can change appearance to suit its guardian;
when Guardian passes down the Miracle Box to someone else, they lose memories not only about everything related to Miraculous, but also about pretty much everything in their life (Fu doesn't recognise Marianne, instead he experiences the love at first sight)
Master Fu trains Marinette to be the proper holder and next Guardian off-screen. He says that her training as the holder is complete in "Feast" and wants her to become the next Guardian. Fu told her lots of things, and yet, he never mentioned the fact that he would lose his memory after relinquishing the box, nor the fact that Marinette would lose her memory afterwards. She finds out about this from Wayzz after the battle with Miracle Queen and the letter that Master Fu gave her. That's not proper training! How on Earth do you forget to mention this memory loss? How?
Master Fu's amnesia is a convenient plot device that removes him from the narrative almost completely. That's mostly all there is to it. Why? Because it doesn't make sense.
Fu was around 7 or 8 when he started his training. The disaster at the temple happened when he was 14. He stated that his training was never complete, which means that he never passed any magical ritual, never swore an oath or was bound by some kind of spell that made him subjected to the rule of memory loss.
Miracle Boxes belonged to the order, not Fu. Their design reflected their country of origin because these Miraculous were made and kept in China. They were just standing there on the shelves not magically bound to anyone in particular. When Feast attacked, monks just tossed Wang Fu the miracle box and grimoire. No one at the temple lost their memory after Fu took the box with him (Su Han is the proof). Su Han not only remembers Fu and his mistake but everything that happened that fateful day as well. In "Furious Fu" Marinette explains Su Han that Master Fu lost his memory in the very first conversation they have. However, after Ladybug and Chat Noir fight Su Han on the roof and escape with the Miracle Box, the latter searches for Fu and attempts to take his staff from him. In this scene, Su Han acts like Fu knows very well what is going on and who he is.
Su Han should be aware of the memory loss rule as the Celestial Guardian. He remarks on the different shape of the Mother Miracle Box and calls her "incorrect", which means that Su Han should have been able to easily tell that previous Guardian lost his memory and the Miracle Box is now bound to someone else. But he doesn't say anything. Moreover, since Su Han is supposed to know about amnesia, he seemed awfully chill about forcing this 14-year-old girl in front of him to give up the box and her memories. Hell, Chat Noir wasn't on board with this. But we get zero reaction from Su Han.
During the first conversation between Marinette and Su Han, he doesn't ignore what she is trying to say, instead he actively comments on every word. Even if Su Han didn't listen when Marinette told him about Fu's memory loss, than he still should be able to understand that Fu doesn't recognise him, because of common sense and the "incorrect" shape of the box. But nothing of the sort happens. Because writers apparently forgot that "memory loss" is supposed to be known to everyone in the Order. On-screen it looks like Su Han is not aware of the "amnesia rule".
"Furious Fu" makes the concept of memory loss a plothole no matter how you look at it. Just like "Timetagger" and "Chat Blanc", as well as "Kwamibuster" this episode is not consistent within itself. It does not surprise me, however.
Grimoire and Guardian Staffs
Let's talk about the Miraculous Grimoire. Good things first.
There are no illustrations of Miraculouses in camouflage. Kwami can't read its contents, only guardians can. Certain elements are written in riddles as an additional precaution. The book contains only the information people have learned so far, which means that Miraculouses have more unexplored potential ("Mr. Pigeon 72"). It describes powers of each Miraculous, provides information about weapons, has instructions for potions that don't make sense (see previous parts).
Unfortunately, everything is about to go downhill from here.
Guardians are taught how to read the writing in this book. They can read it just like people learn to read texts in a different language. This means that one can read Grimoire like any other book (you don't need to consult some guide to decode each letter or word). Master Fu proclaimed Marinette an almost fully trained Guardian. He should have taught her how to read the Grimoire then (he doesn't know the code very well, but he knew enough to understand the general meaning and content of the book according to "Collector"). He didn't. We don't know why. He shows her powers of every Miraculous but doesn't teach her the code.
Master Fu knows that Grimoire now belongs to Gabriel Agreste. He knows that it's dangerous for someone else to have it. If they knew how to read the Grimoire, they could discover all secrets of Miraculouses and harm Ladybug, Chat Noir and other heroes. It's very important to keep the information about the code top secret because Fu is not the only one with the source material.
What does he do then? Master Fu proceeds to write a French translation of Grimoire for Marinette, a translation that he doesn't even need. He carries it with him at all times on a tablet (without any precautions) just like the Miracle box after "Feast". Naturally, it means that in "Miracle Queen", Gabriel and Nathalie easily managed to get their hands on the tablet and Miracle Box. It allows the plot to happen, sure. But it doesn't make any sense.
"Furious Fu" created another curious plot hole. It will probably be ignored, of course. Su Han has a staff with a magical compass that allows him to find any Miracle box, but not the Miraculous jewels for some reason. How does the staff work? Can it locate the box without the Miraculous? If yes, then it seems useless. What's the point in the ability to locate an empty box? If it can locate the box only with the Miraculous jewels inside, it implies that the staff can track the location of every Miraculous too. So, Su Han could just locate the Butterfly and Peacock without any problem. But he talks about reassigning Ladybug and Black Cat to adults and defeating Hawkmoth like locating the Butterfly is not possible. This situation makes the Guardian Staff a simple plot device that creates plot holes and its only purpose is to explain how Su Han found Marinette.
Also, I have a few more words to say about this. Master Fu had a Guardian Staff that was never mentioned before. I wonder why? That's because the staff didn't exist before "Furious Fu" was written. Writers just went: "Do you know what would be cool? If Fu's cane was really a secret Guardian Staff with a compass all along that he decided to keep even after he lost his memory? It would make people wonder whether Master Fu is faking amnesia, and everyone will definitely call him an awful mentor after this even though we kind of tried to make him a good and responsible person."
Fu didn't give it to Marinette and didn't mention it to her. Why? When he gave up his memory, he should have written about this in his letter at least. Why did he decide to keep it? He can't use it anyway now.
Please note how in the flashbacks Fu didn't take any staff with him when he escaped the temple. Su Han seemed to know how Fu's staff looked like. It means that Master Fu didn't make this staff himself, because it belonged to the Order.
Su Han wasn't even surprised that Marinette didn't have the staff as the current Guardian. Was she not supposed to have it? He never questioned the fact that the former Guardian without memories has the staff. Su Han actually returns this staff to Fu after he is deakumatized and Fu acts like they have never met before. Why did Su Han gave the staff back when he knows what it is and to whom it should belong (to him or to Marinette as the current Guardian)? The staff is useless in the hands of the civilian. Does Marianne know about its secret? We'll probably never find out, unfortunately.
Guardian Staff of Master Fu has a compass too and therefore this also makes it a plot device, just like Su Han's staff.

The World Is Corrupt and So Are You
by musicdisc13
It’s not an exaggeration to say that Tommy was as dangerous as a teenager can get. His power was “molecular combustion”. Essentially, he was able to make molecules in objects speed up to the point that they exploded. Every single time he’d used his power, it’d usually have been by accident. He never wanted to blow things up, he was just cursed with it.
That’s why he’d been recruited to be a hero. It was to protect him from himself.
Or, so he’d been told.
or
Tommy is recruited to be a hero, but gets backstabbed by those same heroes and is now a criminal. SBI decides to take him in, (with one villain seemingly a little too familiar.) But it's not so he can be a villain of course... right? Right?

The Todoroki Family & The Umbrella Academy
disclaimer: contains spoilers for bnha chapter 291 & The Umbrella Academy season 1&2
For a while I thought there were mainly parallels between Shouto and Vanya from the Umbrella Academy, two characters who were isolated from their siblings growing up, but now with chapter 290 and 291 giving us a bit more information on Touya and a lot of people claiming he is in the wrong, I feel like it’s helpful to look at the parallels between Dabi and Vanya and how that can show us the possibilities concerning the Todoroki family’s future:
both have the strongest power in their family
end up being ignored by their father and told they’re not as powerful as their sibling(s)
end up isolating themselves from the whole family
expose their family’s secrets to the public
The last part is where the current bnha story ends, so we don’t know whether the aftermath is going to be similar, but let’s look at what happened then in the Umbrella Academy.
the siblings hold a grudge against her for it, not necessarily because of the exposure itself but because they’re all portrayed in a negative way
when they find out that she has powers, some of the siblings view her as a threat, but Allison actually stands up for her and tries to help her
them isolating her throughout the season leads to her causing the apocalypse, further painting her as a threat
while some of the siblings in season 2 still think they should stay away from her, they do end up treating her like a person and being on her side
Obviously not every family has to deal with things the same. But what I like about tUA is that it shows how differently people can react to the same person/events, and that they can change their opinions later down the line.
It’s understandable that some people disagree with Dabi’s decision to expose their family because of the negative effects this can have on the rest of the family that isn’t Endeavor, especially Shouto, whose whole career is essentially going to be about being a public figure.
But you also can’t decide how they’re going to react for them, nor can you say with certainty that they are going to be angry with him because of this.
In contrast to Vanya, Dabi didn’t speak ill of anyone in the family aside from Endeavor. Unlike some people in the fandom, he is not saying “Well, we were a happy family until Shouto came along and ruined everything.” He is not holding a personal grudge against Shouto, because he never really got to know him in the first place.
To Dabi, Shouto is simply the living proof of him having failed as successor. Shouto’s birth was the turning point in his relationship with Endeavor, and for the longest time it was his goal to kill Shouto in the future, but only because Shouto represents what Touya wasn’t able to be.
And yes, Dabi is a villain, someone who has attacked and hurt people and put people’s lives at risk for his own personal goal of getting back at Endeavor. He’s not denying that, though. Also, let’s not forget if you want to bring up Kyushu to prove he put innocent people at risk - Hawks knew about it and didn’t stop it. He risked people’s lives just as much.
People love to be woke about mental health, and whenever there’s stories circulating online about real life abuse victims who speak up about their abuse or even get back at their abuser (in whatever way) - they are celebrated. And rightfully so because coming forward with something so deeply personal and traumatizing, exposing yourself to the public in a way that might stick with you forever is hard and not everyone can do that. But why do people suddenly draw the line at a fictional character who is the personification of how harmful the glorification and idolization of heroes in the bnha universe is. How heroes, who are supposed to protect citizens, are also capable of turning citizens into villains and get away with it.
Dabi isn’t someone who decided to run away from home as a teenager and just stick it to the man. He is someone who has been bred for a specific purpose and once his creator gave up on him, got tossed aside. For years he tried to reclaim his spot, to regain his father’s approval, attention and love, things he used to get, but suddenly were all taken away from him because he wasn’t good enough in his father’s eyes. And for a child, someone whose brain is still in development, it’s crucial to receive care and attention from its parents. Being denied that has negative, long-lasting impacts on the further development, more so than on an adult with a fully developed brain.
He is severly traumatized and was driven to insanity. Did he hurt Shouto by kidnapping his friend during his summer camp? Yes. Did he risk his family’s life by sending Ending to his family home? Yes. But his mind is only filled with the obsession of ruining Endeavor. He is not thinking clearly. Mental illness gets romanticized to the point where any depiction of the darker sides of it gets judged, as if he decided to become Dabi out of sheer boredome instead of it being the result of an abused and traumatized child.
I understand if you care about Shouto and don’t want him to suffer more than he already has. But why are you so okay with an entire family continuing to suffer in silence? Why is it so okay for the family to consider improving their relationship with their abuser while Dabi continues to suffer in silence? Why is he not a worthy victim? Much like Toga has already pointed out in regards to Twice’s death, why are they not viewed as people worth saving in the eyes of heroes who claim that’s what they are all about?
And to those focusing on the effects this might have on Shouto and his career - you do realize he has been vocal about this himself, right? Sure, he hasn’t spoken out about this in as much detail as Touya, partially because he probably didn’t know much about what the family was like before he was born, but he never pretended to have a good relationship with his father. Shouto outright says he hates his father, even in front of other pro heroes, like during the remedial course. So if anything, ask yourself why this child can express his hatred for his own father and the reasons why, and yet no one really reacts to it? Just because Shouto didn’t broadcast it to the whole world, doesn’t mean he never came forward with the truth. The difference between him and Dabi is that he just states these things as facts without any further purpose, whereas Dabi tries to make people see how negative the existence of heroes can be.
Of course it’s likely that they would never have come forward with this to that same extent themselves and would have been okay with that, too. Again, even though Shouto openly states his situation, he doesn’t seek any specific reaction from people. But do you really think the people who have suffered with Touya are not going to show any kind of understanding for him? That they won’t recognize that they could have been him? That Touya needed help he never received and thus ended up like this? Do you really think the people who are already unsure whether or not to forgive Endeavor are not going to recognize that he drove his own child to insanity? That their situation is even worse than they thought?
People are so easy to claim it’s sad how Shouto is starting to care about Endeavor now and that Dabi is ruining that relationship. Shouto isn’t starting to consider warming up to Endeavor because he thinks Endeavor did nothing wrong. Instead, much like Touya, Shouto is a child who is seeking a relationship with his parent, despite the circumstances. But is that what Shouto really needs? To move on with Endeavor in order to have a picture-perfect family, even when that’s never going to be the case? You can side with the abuser, but Dabi is the tragic result of something that could have been prevented. Their family was never normal. It was always a project of Endeavor, so stop pretending like Dabi is the cause of the family’s problems or somehow responsible for the exposure. He is allowed to come forward, even if it also affects the rest of his family. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t care, or never cared. But his mind is clouded with the thirst for revenge to the point where he puts that in front of the well-being of his family. He can’t control that. People can’t just stop being mentally ill and that’s not going to change just because their mental state negatively affects those around them.
Unlike some other family members, he couldn’t even try to move on. His mind got lost in the darkness and this is his last cry for help. You might prefer for him to just stay dead and not make things worse for the family, but at the end of the day, Endeavor is the one who started all of this. And maybe, hopefully, the rest of the family can recognize that even though Touya didn’t actually die back then, Natsuo blaming Endeavor for Touya’s death is still correct because he did kill Touya, an innocent child, and turned it into someone whose only goal in life is to kill Endeavor.
Maybe they won’t be happy with the crimes Dabi has committed and the fact he exposed their family to the whole country. But I think they are going to recognize the tragedy behind this whole situation and possibly even learn that they, too, are allowed to speak up about this. Because the truth is freeing, even when it’s hard at first.

ok yes tony would be a protective dad but lets make sure we’re understanding the lines between “being protective” and “essentially treating his kids like property” because society tends to blur those lines a lot when it comes to parents and their kids, ESPECIALLY when it comes to dads and their daughters
and tony is an AMAZING dad so don’t take this as “tony wouldn’t know the difference” because if anyone out there understands what it’s like to be treated as property instead of a child it’s tony stark—i’m talking to the people in the irondad fandom who may not understand that difference between it was never relevant for them to know or because they were simply never taught those boundaries. so, as someone whose protective dad was very VERY good at crossing those boundaries, here’s an example:
when it comes to dating, a good yet protective parent would:
want to meet/talk to their child’s partner, just to make sure they are a good kid
want to have doors open when said partner is at their house to make sure they aren’t being inappropriate
provide access to safety/protection
continuously check in with their kid to make sure they aren’t being mistreated, but not be accusatory about it—instead of saying ‘(partner) is not good for you’ they would say ‘i just want to make sure you know that, if you ever feel uncomfortable or mistreated by them, then you can always come to me and we can find a way to handle the situation however you’re most comfortable with’
THEY WOULD NOT:
refuse to let their child date altogether, claiming that they are too young or that they are “MY child so it’s MY say”
purposefully scare off any potential partner for their child
scare their own child into being fearful of dating (i.e. ‘boys will just hurt you’ or ‘teenage boys/girls/teenagers in general are awful’ etc.)
acting as if dating and/or just having crushes is inappropriate and “for adults only” (not only is having crushes a natural part of childhood, even just friendship crushes, not always romantic/more than friend crushes, but by insinuating/teaching that it’s an adult thing to like people like that, you’re teaching your child that there’s something wrong with them for developing crushes that are completely natural and outside of their control, as crushes aren’t a choice)
i’m not saying this to like shame anyone who doesn’t know these differences—for a long time, i didn’t know them, either, and it wasn’t until i was like seventeen that i started having conversations with my dad to explain to him that he can be a protective dad but he can’t treat me like property (and even then it wasn’t until he compared me to a car and i was like “hey i’m your daughter not a vehicle do you understand how fucked up what you just said was” that he was like “oh shit” and we finally made real progress towards behavior/attitude and general treatment of one another). this is more so fic writers and content creators in the irondad fandom know how to write protective dad tony without writing an unhealthy parent/child relationship because the stark family is a healthy family god dammit
if there’s any other topic/issue/etc. that people want to write like protective dad tony for (with morgan or peter or harley or whoever) but may not understand where the boundary would be, then u can feel free to send me an ask or ask me about it on this post or something!!

No minors. This blog is 18+ only.
Multifandom, this blog accepts asks, roleplay, and all other kinds of interactions from fandoms and IPs outside of Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss.
I RP and answer asks only when I want to.
While lewdness is somewhere near the center of this blog, outright sex is something I'm much less interested in writing, so don't make a request to fuck as your first message.
No magick anons.
No asking about real world events.
When a character gives you a warning or threat and you continue the action that caused them to give you said warning or threat, don't be surprised when they actually follow through on their word.
I am a horror writer, as such, topics such as gore, murder, psychological horror, trauma, situations of being hunted down, and other potentially frightening or unsettling actions, situations, or topics, may come up somewhat regularly. Complaints about such content will be ignored.
Octavia is, explicitly, a 25 year old adult here, but even so, out of respect for the original creator's intent for her I will not be roleplaying publicly anything sexual pertaining to my own instance of her.
Have fun!
About
Thicc Stolas(Canon Divergent)
Stolas in this universe differs from his canonic representation by being both bottom heavy and never having had a relationship with Blitz, though, he still may pursue extramarital affairs away from the prying eyes of his wife, even though their relationship isn't as strained as it is in canon.
Another way he differs is: The portals his book opens can be used by him without his book, providing quick and easy travel essentially anywhere to anyone, the portals can be any size as well.
Furthermore, any Octavia that he meets, in spite of them not being his own Octavia, he will love them as if they were his own, such is his fatherly instinct.
He is amicable, though somewhat spoiled, unafraid to remind others of his rank, and perfectly willing to take someone out if they threaten his family.
Octavia(Canon Divergent)
The Octavia present here is 25 years old, in college, and studying to be an assassin at the direction of her mother. She still is into the same things as in canon, though she spends much more time with her mother than she does with Stolas, but purely because she knows she doesn't have to fight at all for Stolas to be proud of and love her. She entered college on a scholarship and began to study political subjects as well as the use of poisons and toxins.
Stolas doesn't spend as much time with her as he'd like to, as he's busy with royal duties.
She still very much has that rebellious teen in her but a thirst for a mother's love has chained her within herself in a cage of a calm and calculating demeanor, and may very well act coldly and uncaring toward newcomers in an effort to minimize attention given by them.
Stella(Canon Divergent)
A thirst for power drives her, and assassinations are ordered fairly often by her to protect her own throne and crown. She intends to use her daughter as a tool for her own gain, and while Stolas hasn't angered her in this AU to the point of wanting to kill him, she still holds very little love for him in stark contrast to his own affections for her.
Selfish, vain, and obsessed with an image of royalty and professionalism, Stella in this AU is the least approachable of the Goetia family, and will gladly order violence to be done for the smallest reason.

TEETH?
Teeth?
By InfernoBot
I had just finished recording, and was carrying my dog in from the office, when my mom handed me an envelope. Once I had my sweet pupper nestled into a blanket, I joined her on the couch and slit open my mysterious delivery. Inside was no note, just a brochure to something called ‘Furnal Equinox’ and an accompanying plastic badge bearing the image of a anthropomorphic dog, (maybe it was a wolf), wearing a graduation cap and gown.
As my eyes scanned the glossy pages, my excitement grew; some lovely person had sent me a weekend pass to a furry convention! This was my big chance to make a video detailing my adventures through a mass gathering of one of the internet’s most maligned and misunderstood subcultures. Over the coming weeks, I studied the brochure, read up on the panelists online, noted every question about the furry fandom that popped into my head. My itinerary for the whole weekend was mapped out.
Super chats and KoFi tips managed to cover the cost of a bottom-barrel airline ticket, and I got a great deal on an Air B&B from a charming indiginous woman named Semide, whose sisters had enrolled in college and left their rooms vacant. She was even kind enough to include meals as part of the deal. The weekend of the con finally rolled around; I threw my things in a bag and I was off to Toronto.
Eighteen hours and three layovers later, I was sitting at my host’s kitchen table with a warm towel draped over the back of my neck, sipping a cup of coffee. It turned out Semide was a naturopathic healer and knew some kickin’ remedies for aches, pains and jet lag. I don’t put much stock in essential oils, but damn if I didn’t wake up feeling fresh and ready to face the day the next morning. The convention was being held on the waterfront about nine blocks from Semide’s place, not too bad for a walk, and I reckoned I could make the trek each day.
I left late in the morning, well after the con had opened. No sense waiting in line, I figured. It was three blocks from the Westin Harbor Castle, when I saw the first fursuit.
There was no explaining the rush of exhilaration I felt. This was real. This was happening. I was gradually being surrounded by dozens of people decked out in bright, elaborate costumes. Some that couldn’t afford full suits wore just heads and gloves, giving a ghoulish Frankenstein’s monster appearance to their character. Or the wolf-man caught mid transformation after being bitten by a neon fox in a rainbow pride shirt. The less daring, or particularly destitute, settled for headbands with animal ears and strap-on tails.
Waiting to cross the last street, I was elbow to elbow with a giant Sonic the Hedgehog and a seven-foot tall purple giraffe sporting a quadruple-XL adult diaper. Something told me before the weekend was over, that particular garment would get filled. Before I could contemplate the logistics further, the light changed and the extremely polite, if curiously dressed herd moved into the street and we sorted into a semblance of a line being steadily processed through the doors into the main convention hall. I was in.
The lead-up to the main event hadn’t prepared me for what lay inside. A teenage girl in a ‘volunteer’ shirt thrust an opaque plastic bag into my hands before Big The Cat shoved me aside and began professing his undying love for her beauty. I stumbled into the row of booths on the main floor, further progress blocked by an electric green armadillo strumming an acoustic guitar with a stuffed fish tucked in the strings.
This was it, I weaved my way between con-goers and took it all in. Clip-on LED cat ears. A custom-fit fang booth. Stacks of comics focused on humanoid animals. Racks upon racks of faux-leather collars and leashes. The waifu pillows. I pulled my phone from my pocket and approached the nearest open booth.
Time for an interview, I thought.
Eight hours, two energy drinks and a box of granola bars later, I was dead on my feet. There was no way of knowing how many people I’d talked to as the day progressed. Or just how strange my conversations had become. I think I spoke at length with Cool Cat about the merits of various vape pens, despite the fact I don’t smoke. But it hadn’t all been nonsense.
Before I had degenerated into a gibbering wreck, I had chanced to be standing beside a fountain near the food court and heard a familiar warbling voice behind me. To my great delight, when I turned around I found a young woman with jet black hair, a hawaiian shirt and a black & yellow long-Furby draped over her shoulders; I instantly recognized her as Teya from Strange Aeons. After she’d finished speaking to her friend, I politely tapped her on the arm and introduced myself. She turned out to be super cool, excited to meet another youtube creator, and talked to me for about ten minutes as her girlfriend went off to wait in line for the bathroom.
While most of our conversation centered around videos and our special boy Greg, my eyes kept getting drawn back to Thursday Plurbonym Boyporridge. His black and yellow checkered belly, his luxurious black fur, those piercing green eyes; it was all so captivating. I couldn’t quit looking at the charm necklace below his little yellow beak spelling out his name; Thursday. Eventually, I complimented her on her videos and her handsome long-son one last time and we parted ways. It had been a pleasant break, but even here, the persistent strains of Insane Clown Posse that permeated the space were grating on my nerves.
When the time had come for all the furry folk to close up shop and head home, I staggered out into the street with all the lingering con-goers. Despite the initial culture shock, most of the people I’d met had been great. I could stand here, elbow to elbow with ponies, foxskies, giant pomeranians and adorable cat girl maids on the steps of Westin Harbor Castle, and just enjoy the last moments of the sun setting over Toronto. That is until the moment was shattered by an obnoxious voice that sounded more like it belonged outside a Patriots game accompanied by the echo of shattering beer bottles.
“Now that the party’s over, we can get down to the afterparty at my place; which of you bitches wants to come home with me?”
My head swiveled like a tank turret toward the source of the voice, my face bearing the expression which must have read did this motherfucker just?
A man-child wearing a My Little Pony t-shirt that had been stretched over his prodigious girth, a pair of denim jorts hanging past his knees and sweat-stained socks encased in mandles, slid his oily bulk up behind a group of teenage girls dressed as some kind of anime cat maids. He leaned his acne-studded face in close to them and said, “Since you’re dressed as maids, how about I take you home and make you change my cumm-y bedsheets after a night of passionate love-making.”
The overly-polite locals may have been in shock, but I knew a neckbeard when I saw one and knew immediately what to do.
“How ‘bout you back the fuck off bro, they’re kids.”
Maybe he wasn’t expecting resistance, but he seemed genuinely taken aback by someone speaking up. Once he got a look at me, he re-adjusted his fedora and stared me down. I admit, I might not look terribly intimidating; bulky, but not muscular, with my hair dyed bright teal and swept to one side. At least I had on a Pink Floyd t-shirt, that felt a little like a layer of protection against his fed-aura. He drew in a snot-choked breath and continued,
“They’re dressed as the maids from Painappuru No Oshiri, they’re harem girls that’re totally thirsty for the main character. Each maid is eager to bend over and present their ripe ruby star-fruit to their master. They’re, like, practically advertising how much they want it in the ass.”
“Why don’t you leave them alone, fuckmuppet?” I retorted. “You look like you're forty and they’re a bunch of teen girls.”
He was not pleased with my argument. The group of cat-maidens had shaken off their surprise and closed ranks. But they weren’t ready when he lunged forward and grabbed at the petticoat of the red cat-maid on the outside, lifting her skirts up to expose the shorts underneath.
“It’s not even a chick, it’s a dude. Chill out.”
A glance at the cosplayer’s face revealed a mask of burning red embarrassment, fear and confusion. Their friends were moving to grab at the neckbeard’s hand, but I was quicker. I swatted his arm like I was chopping down the internet itself and pushed right up in his face. Practically nose-to-nose, I couldn’t avoid the stench of fermented funyuns rolling off his breath.
“Keep. Your. Fucking. Hands. Off of them.”
His chins quivered slightly.
“Oh, you wanna start something, Rainbow Brite? I bet you like it in the ass, prancy-boy.”
“For a supposedly straight guy, you sure are obsessed with getting your dick in a guy’s butt.”
The flab of his cheeks reddened to match his acne.
“You’re gonna regret that. I’m a man with a very particular set of skills…”
I cut him off; I didn’t have the patience for a real-life copy pasta.
“Is one of your skills getting punched by me? Cause if you keep talking, you’re going to be teaching a master class.”
I could feel that neckbeardy-bravado wavering. Perhaps he could sense the crowd around us had turned against him, moving to shield the cat-maids and staring daggers into his lumpy flesh. With one last snotty huff, he turned and stormed away; the sound of his mandles slapping on the concrete echoed off the face of the convention center.
A group of several of the more adulty-er people had ringed the victims and were doing their best to calm them down. I shuffled over and started to apologize for the beardo’s behavior, when the red cat-maid began thanking me profusely and asked for a hug. Apparently, this was not the first time their group had been approached at the convention. We stood around chatting for a while, and they promised to check Evangelion when they got home. Once the cat-maids were safely in their Lyft, I waved them goodbye and turned to make my journey home for the night.
I started back up the street I'd taken this morning, but as I approached the doorway to a grimey building, I became aware of a fully-suited Yogi Bear propositioning a man dressed like Linda-Carter-era Wonder Woman. I was pretty wiped out and didn’t have it in me to process an altercation like this if they noticed me and instead took an abrupt right turn down an alley, intending to zig-zag back to my Air B&B.
I was nearly out the other side when my ears picked up the slapping of mandles on pavement rushing up behind me. A searing pain burst into existence in my lower back, like someone put a cigarette out on my spine.
I went down, hard.
The mylar swag bag I’d been swinging around all day splashed into a puddle off to one side. I was barely able to heave myself over onto my back to get a look at my attacker. It was him. The Neckbeard. He stood over me, grinning, his yellowed teeth visible in the night. The little black box in his hand flickered with a blue spark as he triggered the taser again.
“Heh heh. You like that, princess? I aimed a little high so I wouldn’t damage your sweet ass.”
“Fuck….you….” I gasped out through the pain. My muscles were cramping like someone had dug a burning fork into my lower back and twisted it up like a plate of spaghetti.
“Heh. You’re the one taking it in the ass, rainbow bitch.” He stepped over me, squatting like a linebacker, bringing the taser close to my face. “Maybe I’ll push this in your eyeball and see if I can make it boil.”
Out of the corner of my eye, I caught a glimpse of movement between his legs. Something thin and dark darted up from the shadows, toward his exposed back. He let out a cry of surprise, and shot upright, swinging his arms wildly behind him, grabbing at something. He hopped wildly from foot-to-foot across the alley, the tail hanging from the back of his pants swaying wildly with the movement. I thought it was weird I hadn’t noticed the tail before, especially with how long it was, practically sweeping the ground. The fuzzy black appendage was moving...wrong. It kept curling up and twisting out of his hands as he grasped at it, almost as if it were...alive.
“Oh Goddamnit!” He screamed. “What the fuck, dude?!”
He dropped the taser and got a grip on the tail with both hands, tugging on it. A ripping sound echoed through the alley as the seat of his pants tore out. The thing was, the tail wasn’t attached to his pants, it was going in through his pants, nestled between his prodigious posterior cheeks like one of those fetish plugs. As he violently jerked it side-to-side, it was ripping at the fabric of his trousers, the same went for his less-than-tidey whiteys.
“Get this fucking thing off of me!” He howled.
He grunted as the tail slipped his fingers and wriggled another foot inside him. Tears were welling up in his eyes and he collapsed back against a green dumpster. Like a man who had gambled on a street taco truck and lost, he bit his knuckle and gripped his abdomen through his stained t-shirt. It might have been a trick of the light, but I swear I could see his belly distend and squirm; the words ‘Friendship Is Magic’ bulging as something rolled under them.
His mandles dug into the alley grime as he feebly kicked his legs, and I could only watch in disgust as the rest of the fuzzy, black, thing slithered up inside him, forcibly dilating his leather cheerio. It was incredible. I could actually see its progress as it wormed its way through his body. He blubbered something about God and Jesus as his hand clawed frantically at his own belly, before his voice abruptly went silent.
There was a long, drawn-out wheezing sound, like one of those novelty rubber chickens, as the bulk of the thing moved up his throat. I don’t know how his flesh distended and deformed without bursting, but it reached his mouth and his jaw opened wide. First one small black, fuzzy ear lined with black and yellow plaid popped up, then another, followed by the crown of this thing’s head, pushing his teeth outward like flower petals blooming.
It rose before me, straight up from his mouth, its black and yellow belly slick, but not stained by his juices. His dislodged teeth clung to its matted fur like an obscene necklace. It swayed slightly in the moonlight, a pair of luminous green eyes fixed on mine, and its beak opened. With the rising inflection of someone asking a question, it uttered one word:
Teeth?

Quick reminder, everything an original content creator/intellectual property owner/aka AUTHOR does regarding copyright and trademarks up to and including C&D, DMCA, and suing, is to protect their ownership of their own content. Aka, so they can make a living and if you want to continue to have canon content from that creator, they need to have ownership of their fully formed ideas in the way of art, movies, music, books, games, and comics etc, and be able to make a profit off of them.
So, IF you try to make a profit off of someone else’s ideas and they allow it, by law, they may have given up their ownership of said fully formed idea.
This is WHY when you try to profit off of someone else’s books by commissioned fan fic, it is called copyright infringement and not fair use. You are intruding on their ownership and ability to make a living.
Your rights as a fandom creator end when you trespass/cross the rights of the original content aka canon content owner by trying to make a profit off of them.
Which is especially wrong when content creators tend to be the ones who are shafted the most in the entire process of books, movies, music, etc. Plus, you’re trying to claim fully fledged ideas that aren’t yours. And that’s stealing, and stealing is wrong.
If you aren’t comfortable essentially being free advertisement for content creators when you’re doing fan works, by all means, either write/draw original or do something else.
