Star City Sirens
Red Canary, Sienna
Cheshire, Jade Nguyen
Tigress II, Artemis Crock
Cupid, Carrie Cutter
Thoughts:
Red Canary takes to the streets, hoping to pose as Star City's newest criminal. Pulled into her orbit are Cheshire, Tigress, and eventually Cupid. Their lives have been vastly different, but have all found themselves operating out of the same city. Cheshire attempts to reconnect with her daughter, Lian Harper. Tigress raises her son, while her husband travels for "work" for his father. Cupid plays unfairly at love. The Sirens find themselves gathering at the Flower Shop in the Glades. Sara and her wife, Ava, offer top notch advice as all parties forge bounds of trust that'll last a life time.
Tumblr media
Supporting:
Sara Lance, White Canary, Canary, Captain Canary
Ava Sharpe, Twelve, 12th Ava
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Adversarsies:
Punch & Jewelee
Roulette
Black Spider
Other Thoughts:
Sara Lance gets introduced into mainstream continuity. I like the idea of making her Dinah Drake and Larry Lance's secret daughter that they lost in the move over to Earth-1. Pre-Crisis continuity has the two retiring to become florist and at some point Dinah was brought over to Earth-1 to replace Wonder Woman on the Justice League. That was later retconned to be Laurel, daughter of Dinah, in the Justice League. Why not another retconned? This time with Sara having a whole ass adventure as a Time Master, finding her soulmate, and then taking time off to pursue her botanical interests with her partner only to be sucked into Earth-1 present day Star City drama. She can mentor Red Canary and act as a pillar in the community in a way that traditional heroes can't.
Cheshire and Tigress get canonized as sisters?

Crisis On Earth-Four.
Art by Alex Garcia, colors by David Stepp.
This would have made a great story for the annual summer crossover between the Justice League of America and the Justice Society of America, right after DC acquired the Charlton heroes in 1983. However, Crisis On Infinite Earths happened instead.

Duela in Teen Titans/Outsiders Secret Files and Origins
This comic from 2005 features Duela’s second major post-70s appearance. It doesn’t have a lot of plot or plot significance, and I don’t know who any of the other characters are. It’s basically just Duela messing with a bunch of people about her parentage - unlike a lot of her 99/00s appearances, I do get the impression that it’s a joke or a game for her, not her being legitimately delusional. And her design is just absolutely adorable here. She’s got her classic outfit, and a really cute face and hairstyle.
Tumblr media
So we start with the bad guys being confused because she’s at a bad guy hang-out playing pool and claiming to be a Teen Titan.
Tumblr media
As in the original comics, she first claims to be the Joker’s daughter. And points out, correctly, that being a supervillain’s kid and a hero are not mutually exclusive.
Tumblr media
Punch and Jewelee do have a child, but it’s a son. Love Deadshot playing the reindeer, here. Also love that apparently Duela’s been wearing the same outfit her entire life.
Tumblr media
We touch on Duela’s age thing here, for the first time since the 80s. She’s currently claiming to be 19, so roughly the same age as in her original, 70s appearances; she was never given an official age, but was a college student, so presumably somewhere around here. She looks so cute in the last panel!
Tumblr media
Another character points out she’s supposed to be older than that, and she claims to have been in a Lazarus Pit.
Tumblr media
Next we come back around to her original backstory - Two Face’s daughter. Interesting how she had a normal skin tone as Punch and Jewelee’s daughter, but this baby picture is white. While the dialogue bubble goes with the original “He wanted twins,” the thought bubble seems to be suggesting Two-Face’s wife cheated on him.
Tumblr media
The bad guys are getting really frustrated with her antics.
Tumblr media
And then she claims her dad is Dr. Light. That’s a really cute picture, too. A guy tries to grab her, and she says “Do you know who my father is?”
Well, for this page, Dr. Light, apparently.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The return of Duela’s bubble gum. And I love the last panel. She looks like she’s having so much fun!
Tumblr media
And having won that little fight, she walks out with a mention of her mother. Also, allegedly, a supervillain.
I just really enjoy this comic. It’s cute, it’s fun, Duela is having a good time and leaning into her parent gimmick without coming off crazy. Since there are no other Titans in the comic, there’s no frustration about how her relationship with them has changed over time. She’s wearing her classic outfit, without the updates to make it more revealing or edgy.
This is the design I’m using for my third Duela doll, BTW.

Concept: a Batman story where a big deal is made of the Crime of The Week involving Every Single Remotely Clown-Adjacent Villain: Harley Quinn is there!  Punch and Jewelee!  Duela Dent!  Prankster!  Both Tricksters!  All four Harlequins!  Everyone who has ever done anything at all clown-related!!!
Joker is never once mentioned or alluded to in any way.

So, @saberwriter suggested I nab Punch and Jewelee to be Blythe's undetermined supervillain parents, and I gotta say, the idea's growing on me. They do have a son in at least one timeline, and while he'd be too old to be Blythe herself, she could easily have an older brother....
I need to do some more research into them, but this could be the perfect fit

Harley Quinn once formed a team of other joke themed villains like Punch, Jewelee, Trickster and Ragdoll. She called them the Clown Crew. They were defeated by the combined forces of the Creeper, Plastic Man, the Heckler and Ambush Bug.
