Okay, uh here are some persona ideas. I expanded the themes of tricksters and thieves, to rebels as well. If you add anymore, I’m happy to come up with some more if you want! ^_^
SHIHO
A popular choice for Shiho is Boudicca, a queen of an ancient Iceni tribe, and national British hero. She is known for her failed uprising against the Roman Empire, but was immortalized as a symbol for the struggle for Justice and independence. The inciting incident that jump started her revolution was when she was flogged and her daughters, uh… “assaulted”. Shiho fortunately, most likely took Kamoshida down in contrast with Boudicca’s failed uprising.
HIFUMI
If you want to go for the Oni aesthetic, Maybe Minamoto no Raikō would suffice. He is a samurai known for slaying Shuten Dji, a demon known for kidnapping young girls and either enslaving them or eating them. Raikō and his allies infiltrated his lair, disguised themselves as yamabushi priests, and gave Shuten Dōji special saké, which incapacitated him allowing him to slay the wicked oni. Hifumi is someone very perceptive and focused on strategy more than raw power. Raikō utilized several of the traits the phantom thieves use and Shuten Dōji could represent her mother twisting things to make her famous and Hifumi changing her heart (if she’s a palace ruler).
MISHIMA
Even if Ryuji is now the resident Navigator, he lacks Futaba’s technological know how and ability to gather information. So I imagine Mishima to take that mantle. As you said Merlin fits Mishima, but I have a few ideas myself you can possibly use; Jekyll & Hyde. Mishima, for all his cringefailness, harbours a dark side, as proved via him developing a shadow or corrupted desires of his own. But not only could this represent his darker desires, it could also be Mishima taking the first step into becoming someone he could be proud of, referring to the transformation between Jekyll and Hyde.
RYUJI
While you said Captain Kidd is his persona, I couldn’t get the thought of his Navigator persona being the Argo. The Argo is the ship the argonauts sailed upon their many adventures, and within it’s walls held several thieves and tricksters of their own right. Ryuji, like a ship desires to protect and guide his allies throughout stormy waters, even if he can’t move on his own.
Shihio: It fits very much! Though I'm still super on the fence. She's not coming to me as easily as the others are- I'll pin this as well for now and puzzle on her some more.
Hifumi: Usually the persona genders line up pretty 1-1 with their wielders, so having one be contrary is a really neat- especially when the stories line up. Unfortunately, I am struggling to find actual stuff on the character, as the Fate Grand Order character is dominating search results. I'll look into it more!
Mishimia: Ohh, I like that- I like it a LOT. It would fit that Hyde would be the shape of his rebellion. Im.. kind of suprised they chose Loki instead of Hyde of Akechi now that I think about it LOL. I like that a lot. I'll take it.
Ryuji: Is it.. is it bad I think it's kind of a crime to separate a golden retriever from his pirate captain bonesona? I mean, you're right. You're very right. But I can't separate the pirate theming. Tho, jumping off that point- perhaps a pirate vessel? The Flying Dutchman or the R.L.S. Legacy the Hispaniola or smth. I can imagine the conversation now: "Your inner self is a boat?" "Yes. She's beautiful, isn't she?"

I know that ships that are not on water are not allowed. So i just want to give a shout out to the sky ship from Stardust, The Caspartine full of lightning merchants. And also the space traveling ship from Treasure Planet, The R.L.S Legacy (named for Robert Lewis Stevenson). Since both are flying/space ships but they LOOK like navel ships and not rockets or whatever. They have sails and masts and a normal swap the deck aye aye captian type crew. And i think thats neat!
It is ! I don't know if there are other tournaments not limited to "sea ships" but if someone here knows about them, maybe mention it so @scifikimmi and others may submit those wholesome ships ! (I also quite like the Jolly Roger, Captain Hook's ship in Disney's Peter Pan)

Reaaaallly far into the future, when Leon and Aine are free to go on Earth, Leon's going to introduce Aine to his family! (/=ww=)/
———————Snippet Ig???———————
"By the way! Meet Aine! They're the pirate that helped me with getting home!" When previously they were busy checking if their frills were in the right order only they knew, now their attention was fully concentrated on the turtle who found its way to their heart.
Minute passed. Then another. Then another few. And then Aine started numbering the seconds that they spend looking at their earthling... Family.
When they said it aloud now it sounded laughable to even think about it. Them? Adopting one of the earth's inhabitants? It was like someone was telling some unfunny joke, and nobody was laughing at it. But look at them now. They kept their promise. They helped this one lonely turtle who had similar problems to them with getting home. And now he was finally reunited with his family.
They felt their tongue inside their sealed mouth getting all sticky with a digestive substance it started to produce in reaction to feeling their increasing stress. They were nervous and there was no one here who could disagree with that. Fighting with their every urge to just turn around and walk away from this little reunion, they tried their best to take a small stabilizing breath.
Now, looking directly at 'rat' — At least that's what Leon told them what his father was, apparently some creature called 'rat' — who was standing in front of them, looking with his judging eyes and calculating their every move. They gulped internally.
"I'm," Slow breaths Aine, he's not going to attack you. It's not like they're cold-blooded and heartless creatures everyone in space believed them to be, right??? "I'm first Captain and commander of the intergalactic ship, 'R.L.S Legacy', Aine," Without thinking further, after a while they added. "It's-It's a pleasure to meet you family of Leonardo."
They could feel on them all the eyes of others looking like Leonardo turtle-like Earth inhabitants.
Aine by nature weren't somebody who was getting anxious really fast, but meeting actual earth aliens? It was the most stressful thing in their entire life, and they're telling that after being through a fucking court trial between them and the most important beings in all known universe. That was something that spoke for itself.
And then, the most unexpected thing happend.
The one that was wearing the orange mask took a step closer to them. The urge to take their own but backward was strong not to accomplish, but at the last second, they decided against it. They need to be strong, for Leonardo and themselves if they wanted to properly meet his family. Orange one which was the smallest out of the other organics called turtles also looked at them from head to toe. When they were finished with that, they just... Took out their hand.
What they were supposed to do now, were they trying to duel them to check if they were worth hanging out with one of them? Were they supposed to decline or accept their offer????
"Just shake his hand, as we do sometimes-!" The not-so-whisper Leonardo used to communicate with them was the only thing needed for Orange's one realization to hit them.
They smiled only more widely — Surprisingly not in a threatening way! — And decided to answer them on their own.
"I'm Mikey, Leo's brother!" The energy in this one was something reaching Leonardo's levels of it. The difference was, Aine could clearly feel they weren't such a little shit about that like their earthling. "I'm so happy you helped my brother when he was in need, thank you so much!"
"A-Ah-" How were they supposed to answer that? They were expecting a bloody fight, not some small talk!!
"Tell them your pronouns Mikey, they have some sick gender perceptions of it in space man!" Oh, thank every ancients above they've got at least some damn support from their nuisance.
"Oh, okay! I use he, him, what should I use for you then!"
Momentarily they relaxed. Their body wasn't so stiff anymore, and they could feel growing swiftly swirling inside the lower parts of their body, which meant they were ready to produce the sounds of quiet happiness.
Now, without hesitance, they on their own smiled slightly and closed their eyes so mentioned smile could be better portrayed. Reaching their own hands to this one of Mikey's, they finally took it.
"We go by they, them, it's such an honor to meet you everyone, Leo when we were on our way back talked about you nonstop"
They were now shaking their hands slowly, and they were finally feeling welcomed here.

Good morning ☀️ can we plz have some Jim Hawkins x Reader headcanons? Best friends, crushing, mutual pining, obliviousness, all that stuff? 🥺👉🏽👈🏽 very fluffy with just a small bit of angst? If you can. Thank you ✨
🖤You've been Jim's best and only friend his entire life. You're the only person who doesn't judge him or see him in a negative light like everyone else. Which is something he appreciates a lot.
🖤 Secretly, Jim has the biggest crush on you. Hes bad a crush on you ever since he could remember me. He loves everything about you. You're looks, you're personality, and just everything...
🖤And let's just say, you feel the same way.
🖤 He's very good at hiding his actual feelings towards you. Jim's able to act casual around you like he usual does. Even though on the inside he's screaming internally whenever you give him a hug.
🖤The only reason Jim hides his feelings towards you is because he doesn't think you like him back. He's afraid of losing you as a friend if he reveals his true feelings. Jim thinks it'll scare you off. So, he hides them even though apart of him wants to desperately tell you, how he truly feels.
🖤It isn't until the both of you are about to enter a black hole, does he admit to you his true feelings. Jim thinks this is the last time he'll ever get to tell you. At the same time, you also reveal your true feelings. Jim looks at you with shock before embracing you as the R.L.S legacy is pulled into the black hole.
🖤Then surprise surprise, everyone survives. After the two of you realize this, Jim hugs you and twirls you around in his arms with all his strength.
🖤Sadly, The celebration is short lived as Mr. Arrow didn't make it. Jim is blamed for this as he was in charge of the life lines.
🖤 Afterwards, you do your best to comfort him. Yet for the time being, he just wants to be left alone. Respecting his choice, you do so.
🖤It is until when Silver gives him the speech we all know very well of, Jim goes on to find you.
🖤This is where he asks you if he you really meant what you said earlier. You tell him you did meant it.
"Yeah, I thought so.." he said as he pulls you in, giving you a kiss.

How would your ocs react?
(feel free to comment or reblog to answer, or not answer at all :) I'm just wanting to interact with y'all)
Your character(s) is just doing their own thing, going about life, when boom, and wormhole opens up and kidnaps them
They fall onto the deck of the R.L.S. Legacy, get their bearings, and can start to figure out what's happening.
But then, somebody shouts "SHIP!" and they turn, to see a smaller ship headed straight for the Legacy and not slowing down.
What do they do?
Or,
They fall onto the deck of a ship, but not the R.L.S.. They have barely any time to recover before a voice starts firmly giving out orders, and they look up to see a young sailor at the helm. Then they realize the ship is going to crash into another if they don't act quick.
How do they handle the situation?
(I know we've already roleplayed this scenario in the discord server but still)

Ghostly Remains (1)
Cetus and Andrew belong to @aalbliii
Child belongs to @/authorchanlove (deactivated)
Elinor belongs to @emerald-echeveria-plant
Lyka carefully stepped down the stairs that lead into the gally. At the last stepped she spotted Child, sitting all the back at one the galley's tables. The human kiddo had stowaway onto the R.L.S almost a month ago and the adults still have no idea how she snuck aboard. She was tiny, and hints to her name, an actual child. The other kids said that she said she was only nine-years old and her condition when she was founded wasn't terrific. Her black hair was long and fell halfway down her back, she had longs bang that covered her left eye, skin was pale, but was splattered with dirt when she was found. Even her white clothes, a large buggy white dress shirt and dress pants, were splattered with dirt as well. Her messy condition didn't stand a chance mama (Elinor), from what she heard from papa (Andrew), she fussed over Child until she was as shiny as a gleaming pearl. Lyka glanced around the rest of the gally, she was a bit surprised that none of the other adults on the ship, or at least the few who were on the Legacy right now, not watching over Child. But she wasn't one to judge too harshly on the small subject, she was an orphan her entire life, and still technically is in some cases.
The Merfolk stepped her way over to the smaller one, at closer look she saw that Child appeared to be doodling on pieces on old scrap paper. An old looking pencil in her hand and a small smile on her face. She took a step up to Child. "Hey." Lyka gently spoke, not wanting to suddlenly scare the young one. Child looked up her paper up to Lyka, her small smile growing bigger at the sight of seeing the Merfolk. "Hello." she said happily. "Mind if I sit with ya for a moment?'' Lyka asked, pointing a finger at the bench seat. "Sure!" Child said nodding her head. Lyka took a seat next to the Child and looked over at the paper she was doodling on. "Whatcha drawing?" Lyka asked curiously. "I'm drawing me and dad!" Child exclaimed happily. A closer look at the drawing Lyka could see so far that Child had scribbled herself holding hands with dad (Cetus). "I'm going to surprise him when he and papa come back from their trip!" she explained her face beaming. Lyka smiled as she looked at the drawing. "He's gonna love it.", she said. "But I do have something to ask. Do ya think ya could do a little favor for me?'' The Merfolk looked at the little one, her smile had fell to a slight serious expression. "A favor?" Child asked looking up to the Merfolk. Lyka nodded her head. "I heard from the others that you got a really powerful skill. You have the ability to see the afterlife. You can see those who have passed away."
Child nodded her head at the Merfolk. "I can." she said "And that's why I need your help." Lyka proclaimed. "I want to know if you can see anyone that looks like me. I need to know if they're any Merfolk who I look like around me." The Merfolk exclaimed, placing a hand over her chest, her expression almost seemed desperate. Child stayed quiet for moment. She looked around at the space between Lyka before looking back at her and answering. "...Are you sure?" Child asked. "I don't have anything to lose, not that I could lose anything at this point.'' Lyka stated. For another moment, Child stayed quiet before nodding her head. "...Okay." Lyka waited for an answer, not wanting to rush the poor girl. Sometimes seeing a dead man walking can really drag the air out of someone. Finally, the younger one spoke up. "I...I don't see anybody that looks like you." The young girl's face had fallen to a sadden look. Lyka's own expression soon dropped. Her serious look had fallen to a look of dismay. "Y-You don't see anyone? Nobody? No one at all?" Lyka asked, her voice almost breaking. She looked to the girl, hoping that she would give a different answer. But Child only nodding her head, her own expression upset as well. " I don't...I just see these really big sharks that are this big." Child explained, stretching her arms as far as she could to emphasize to the other. "Their eyes are really far part and they're circling around you a lot."
Hammerhead Sharks. She must be referring to the ones back from her home planet. They must've been the ones of the Shiver that she used to hang around with before leaving home. Lyka looked away from the girl, gathering her thoughts before taking a deep in through her nostrils and letting it out. She looked down at the younger one, her expression was almost heartbroken, but she forced a small smile over her lips. "That's all I needed to hear. Thank you for telling me." Lyka said. She lifted her hand and lightly patted the top of Child's head. "You can go back to drawing. I just needed to make sure." With that, Lyka got up from her sit and made her way to the gally stairs. Child watched as the Merfolk left, her expression worried her the older one.

Starter for @felidaecaptain !
Lunar station. A not so unknown place to search for a crew or even a captain recruiting more people on their crew, but also full of surprises. It’s been lunar cycles the so called Armstrong has been there, however, seeking for not recruiting a crew. But rather, be part of one.
Hiding everything remarkable about him in a heavy clothing and a pair of lenses, Tide marched towards the port, looking all around the place. It was all so noisy and full of life and movement, new species around and even planet ambassadors passing by! No, focus! You need to seek for a place. No distractions. Foward, aim foward!
Walking just a bit more, his dull green optics found the famous R.L.S Legacy docked by. He knew only one person able to own this ship... Hoping the captain wasn’t busy at the time. He stepped in, once again looking around the not so agitated crowd walking left and right. Apparently, they seemed to be delivering an important cargo, but it wasn’t his business after all. He was there to talk to someone... a feline one, per say.
“Captain Amelia? Are ya over there?”

Captain Amelia Smollett
Captain Amelia is a cat-like alien who appears in Treasure Planet. She is a major character, being the captain of the ship of the R.L.S. Legacy as hired by Doctor Doppler to get to the Treasure Planet. She is shown to be a capable and strict captain, but not without her playful side. She is also rather witty. She is shown as playful towards Doctor Doppler at first, before befriending him and then becoming his love interest. By the end of the film, the two are married and have quadruplets together; Matey, Jeb, Tilly and Sonny.
She has not appeared since.

“i found you among the stars.”
OKAY, IMAGINE BEING OLD FRIENDS WITH JIM HAWKINS AND REUNITING ABOARD THE R.L.S. LEGACY...
you and jim had been friends forever
the two of you used to read books about treasure planet when you were young and have mock sword fights with tree branches long before his father ever left and things got bad
you would also help him find parts for the solar surfer that he was building, and give him company while he fixed it up
then, at the end of the day, the two of you would sit on the roof of the benbow and stare up at the stars
“we’ll see them all, one day. we’ll be pirates and find treasure planet!
“think of all the places we could go! i want to explore every planet i can.”
“not without me, jim.”
“of course not.”
and then his mom would call the two of you in for dinner
and when his dad left, you and your parents were at the benbow more often
and he was more quiet
all he would do was tinker with his solar surfer, messing with it because “it wasn’t good enough.”
the two of you got in more fights after that, but you would always make up
“you can’t be mad at me forever, jim.”
“i know, i just...”
“i know.”
then you parents told you that you were moving to a completely different planet
you didn’t want to go
jim didn’t want you to, either
“you can’t make me!”
but they could
and they did
they had to
but why, you’ll never know
you thought of your old friend (and only friend, really) often
you wondered if he ever got good at riding that solar surfer of his.
you wondered if his dad ever came back.
you wondered if you would ever see him again.
if the stars were still something the two of you could discover together
part of you believed - no, knew - that you would see jim again
call it destiny, or something
so you knew you had to be ready when you did
so, 7 years after having left montressor, you made your way back to its spaceport
and it was there you were hired to work on the r.l.s. legacy
you needed money if you were ever going to make it back to the benbow, and this job was lucrative enough
mr. arrow, the man who hired you, didn’t tell you exactly what the job was, but the way he made it sound clued you into the fact that this was something big
oh, i should probably mention, i think you and jim are probably 17ish during the events of the movie. i don’t think the movie ever gave jim a canon age, and that’s what i’m going off of.
and when you see jim on the r.l.s., you can’t contain your excitement
“jim!”
and you give him a hug
“(y/n)? what are you doing here?”
“i could ask you the same thing.”
and for a moment, things are back to the way they used to be
but nothing gold can stay
and some bad feelings get stirred up
you left him when he needed you most - things could never be what they were
and this h u r t
it never occurred to you that he would be angry with you - it wasn’t your choice to leave
and this makes for a huge argument that bubbles up a few days into your journey together
“jim, i would have stayed if i had been given the choice! what could i do?”
“say no? make a convincing argument of why you needed to stay? we would have taken you in! we would have given you a play to stay!”
“i didn’t want to walk away--”
“but you did.”
and his voice cracks and it’s like your vision clears
and you see his eyes filling with tears
but he pushes them back
“everyone walks away when they get the chance. i shouldn’t have expected you to be any different.”
and he walks away
and you suddenly know what this argument was about.
not you.
his father.
and later that night, when he’s scrubbing the deck, you go over to him and apologize, but explain that you are not the person he’s angry at.
“i know that. i just...”
and he sighs and hangs his head
“he’s not here, is he? and i can’t scream at someone who’s not here, but it doesn’t change the fact that i’m angry.”
and the two of you talk for a long while, until some of the stars are a little closer, and their warmth a little more inviting
and the two of you slowly go back to your old dynamic.
and it’s comfortable because you know each other well, but it’s still sort of new
you watch as jim bonds with the crew
you’ve bonded with them yourself, although some of them still rub you the wrong way
you notice how he gets closer to silver, and it makes you happy
things people need always seem to come to them in unexpected ways
you never suspected him for who he truly was, and it made the betrayal all the more harmful
“it wasn’t enough for you to steal from jim - you had to break him all over again, too?”
“i never meant to--”
“but you did.”
and the two of you stayed close after treasure planet
he tried to convince you to go to the academy with him, but you declined
“that’s your destiny, jim, not mine.”
but the two of you wrote letters to one another
he was terrible at responding
but you never had such a good friend as jim, and you don’t think you could ever want anyone else, either.
AND FLUFF ENSUES.

@burglarlotus sent in : “ topic : silver and morph . ” ( jim meta ! ) tws for murder &&. knife mention .
first up , silver . we all know that jim wasn’t the biggest fan of silver when they first met due to the sinister warning that billy bones gave ( “ beware the cyborg ! ” ) a couple of nights before , and jim himself had suspected that silver and his pirate crew were the ones that had burnt down the benbow inn that same night . suffice to say that the teenager had had an awful first impression when it was revealed that silver was indeed a cyborg .
however , once they both got to know each other , silver slowly gained jim’s trust despite the young man being very resentful of both him and captain amelia at the start of the voyage . the resentfulness was solely because when jim first boarded the r.l.s legacy , he’d wanted to sightsee and bask in his momentary freedom from all the chores he’d had to do at home . instead , however , silver had him doing almost the same exact chores and work that his mother had made him do back on montressor .
this trust is immediately ripped away and torn to shreds once the mutiny takes place . if anyone recalls from my solrsurfr blog and a prompt being sent in for a certain meme that i can’t remember , jim had initially planned on stabbing silver in the neck with the blade that he’d grabbed from the table . instead , he showed some mercy and opted for his mechanical leg since that would at least slow him down and buy the young man some time to get to safety without worrying about one of the pirates seeing him murder their captain .
this hatred that slowly builds comes barreling out full force during the scene where silver tries to bargain for the map . jim had seen red during that moment , and the urge to murder silver right in front of the crew stays throughout his capture and the discovery of the treasure . jim had hated silver in those moments just as much as he’d hated his own father , and he loathes leland hawkins .
after silver rescued him , however , jim had slowly begun to get back that trust , as he’d seen that , after all , the cyborg did care about him enough to literally let a ship full of treasure be obliterated in favor of the young man’s life . silver had fully regained jim’s trust and respect when he helped the young man build the makeshift solar surfer in order to get to the portal .
as for morph , jim loves the little shapeshifter and loves his mischievous streak . he doesn’t consider morph a pet , like some people might assume , he considers him a dear friend . also , morph’s a reminder of silver and the adventure that they both had gone on . that’s ... about all i’ve got for morph’s portion of the meta , forgive me for it being so short .
meta topics . / always accepting ( let me blab about my babies ) !

CHAPTER 6 ✨ sneak peak
(requested by @catrillion SPOILERS for my upcoming Treasure Planet fanfiction)
─────
Once the ferry came to a stop, Jim and Sophie, long with several other passengers from Montressor, stepped out to see the populous anchorage. After exiting the ferry, Jim and Sophie gazed around the spaceport, taking in the sights of the great roadstead.
If she were being honest, Sophie was very pleased to be out of the transport ferry. The crowded space and overlapping voices causing a mild, yet still burdensome stress and aching in her head. It would sometimes be a bit suffocating, but she did her best to push through it.
However, there were often times when she couldn't take it and Jim would lead her someplace more quite to calm down.
Yeah, life-long Asperger syndrome can and will do that to you.
"Jim, Sophie! Oh kids, wait for me!" Delbert called out from inside the transport ferry. Jim let out a sigh and threw his head back, while Sophie just rolled her eyes and mildly rested her forehead on her fingertips. As Delbert exited the ferry, both Sophie and Jim could hear his footsteps, his metal suit being quite oversized and a bit noisy, especially when he walked.
Jim let out a soft breath, followed by a short chuckle of amusement while shaking his head lightly as Delbert approached the two teenagers.
"Well, Jim, Sophia, this should be a- a wonderful opportunity for the three of us to get to know one another." Delbert said, doing his best to sound upbeat about it. Jim rolled his eyes and sighed, while Sophie smiled and shut her eyes, shaking her head lightly. "You know what they say, familiarity breeds, um... well, contempt. But in our case--"
"Look, let's just find the ship. OK?" Jim said calmly before he began to walk off, and Delbert's helmet closed with a short clank. Glancing back at the doctor, Sophie gave him a sheepish 'sorry' smile and a shrug before following after Jim.
The three walked around the busy spaceport in search of their ship. When the area got a bit too crowded, Jim took hold of Sophie's hand to keep her close to him so they didn't get separated. The ravenette's heartbeat started climbing, and she could feel the warmth rising from her cheeks all the way to her ears, but she didn't object.
They continued to hold each other's hands, even after getting out of the crowd. Once they realized what they were doing, only then did they let go. Sophie didn't see it, but Jim was unable to stop the faint pink hue from creeping across his face.
Eventually, they decided to ask for directions from a robot that was standing up on a ladder near a window.
"Second berth on your right!" the robot instructed, pointing in the direction they had to go. "You can't miss it." the pudgy, orange furred alien that was holding the bottom of the ladder said with a short nod.
"Hey, thanks." "Thank you." Jim and Sophie said with short waves, before they made their way down a short staircase.
"It's the suit, isn't it? I should never have listened to that pushy, two-headed saleswoman." Delbert said as he followed Jim and Sophie. "This one said it fit, that one said it was my color. I didn't know what to do, I get so flustered." he continued to ramble, unaware that Jim and Sophie had come to a stop.
After accidentally bumping into the two adolescents, Jim sent Delbert a mildly irked expression, and the doctor gave them an apologetic look, before his eyes drifted upward. "Oh! Jim, Sophia, this is our ship! The R.L.S. Legacy!" Delbert proclaimed, gesturing forwards.
Upon seeing said ship, Jim and Sophie's gazes lit up in admiration, Sophie gasping lightly in bewilderment, her eyes almost glowing with a small, sudden burst of elation.
It was clear that the name "Legacy" had been rightfully earned. An exquisitely built galleon, painted blue along the edges, and the Montressor crest right beneath the bow of the ship.
"Whoa." Jim breathed in awe as he began to make his way towards the plank of the ship. "This is amazing." Sophie said, beaming as she followed him.

Tagged!
I was tagged by @mcg777 and @ericsonclan - thanks guys.
Rules: tag 9 people you’d like to get to know better
Top 3 ships:
I desperately wants to be literal here and say the R.L.S. Legacy (Treasure Planet), the Normandy SR-2 (Mass Effect), and the Hermes (the Martian)... but I don’t think that’s what people care about.
So, in no particular order:
1. Clementine x Aasim, and Clementine x Louis (TWD - don’t make me pick) 2. Kanji Tatsumi x Naoto Shirogane (Persona 4) 3. The Warden x Morrigan, and The Warden x Alistair (Dragon Age: Origins - Morrigan is my in-game choice, but I like the Alistair fics more)
I have so many more things I want to add to this list - argh.
Lipstick or Lipbalm: Lipbalm, always. I don’t wear makeup so I think having just lipstick would be alarming to everyone around me. Last song I listened to: Fast Car by Tracy Chapman. Luck of the draw on this one, my playlist is always on shuffle and it’s full of my older favourites. Last movie: The most recent movie I’ve re-watched is either the Labyrinth or Stranger Than Fiction (I don’t remember which one I put on first). Had a downer week and needed some of my favourite movies to cheer me up a little. But the most recent first-time watch was probably Dare mo Shiranai... good movie, but another downer unfortunately. Reading: Just finished reading the novelisation of the Shape of Water and I recently moved on to The 100 series by Kass Morgan... so far it’s not really engaging me, which is a shame. I was hoping for some sci-fi Lord of the Flies, but it hasn’t gotten to that level yet. Watching: YouTube compilations of The Best Friends Play... I miss the Zaibatsu boys and I’m kind of on a nostalgia train at the moment.
TAGGED: @randomfandom-bs , @terra-mations , @theres-no-going-home , @chipper9906 , @bardaholic , and anyone else who wants to tag along because I don’t know too many people to tag here.

"Puppy love is hard to ignore" for you and Shigure. "Are you still there?" you and Thrawn. "Just take my hand" you and Silver.
WEH
*
The blue smoke dissipated in the air almost as quickly as it appeared. A breeze wafted into the Sohma house through the open shoji door where, just inside, Melody sat at the kotatsu, though it wasn’t yet cold enough for blankets to be added to the table.
That was fine. The big, black dog she was now hugging was warm enough.
“Oops,” she simpered, her smile widening into a smirk at the end of the word.
The dog gave a very human sigh. His tale did not wag. His snout didn’t move, but he spoke anyway.
“I knew it’d be a bad idea, not having your memories suppressed.”
“What? You’re not having a good time?”
“This is the fifth time you’ve hugged me today alone, and it’s not even past noon.”
“I can’t help it,” Melody replied, snuggling into his fur. “I love puppies!”
Shigure craned his head to get a better look at her, but it was no use. She was latched on and not going anywhere. “I’m hardly a puppy,” he said, managing to make it threatening and playful all at once.
“All dogs are puppers, some are just bigger,” she argued. “You’re a cute breed I like, too. Maybe if you turned into a chihuahua, I wouldn’t feel the urge to hug you as much.”
“And here I thought it was my manly physique that did it for you,” he said dryly.
“Eh.” She shrugged. “Maybe it would, if you wore anything but your pajamas all—”
“Kimono. It’s a kimono.” Shigure stressed the clothing, as if he hadn’t explained this to her a hundred times, and a hundred times she’d ignored him.
“Okay, yeah, but it’s all you wear. It’s practically a glorified bathrobe at this point.”
“You have no appreciation for culture,” he intoned mock-mournfully before asking in a slightly more serious tone, “Does this hug have an expiration date, by the way?”
“Listen. I’m making up for lost time.”
“Oh, believe me, I’m not complaining. I’m well aware that a pretty girl is hugging me.”
Melody was glad that her face was turned away from Shigure’s so hers could go stupidly red in semi-privacy.
“It’s just that,” Shigure was saying, “dear Mitchan will be cross with you if you keep me from finishing my manuscript.”
“I doubt it.” Was Melody scratching Shigure’s head now or giving him a noogie? Yes. “I’m not the one with a looming deadline. Which one is it, anyway?”
“Oh, you know,” he said innocently. “My other thing.”
“Your filthy, filthy smut, you mean.”
“It’s cute when you pretend you’re not just as depraved.”
“That’s not it.” She poked him in the side but smoothed the fur afterward. “It’s not your take on sex that terrifies me about reading it. It’s your take on female characters.”
“What?” His tone was sharp with offense. “You don’t think I can write women?”
“Oh,” Melody drawled with a slow smile, “absolutely not.”
“I’m so hurt,” he responded, “and I will relish proving you wrong.”
“Don’t worry, Shigure. Sometimes, a paycheck and a fooled audience is enough.” She laughed as he nipped her arm.
“Yes, well, if I don’t get the next volume out soon, that Hana girl might kill me before Mitchan does.”
As if speaking of her had summoned her, Shigure’s editor came pealing around the house, only to freeze at seeing Melody. Mitchan was professionally dressed in a suit jacket, pencil skirt, and heels, but she somehow looked all the more shabby for it, probably because the strain was so stark on her face. Melody felt a wave of pity for her.
“Where—is—he?” Mitchan wailed, close to crying once a sweep of the room revealed that Shigure was nowhere to be found.
“I think he went to the store,” Melody told her. One of Shigure’s ears twitched.
“Oh, kill me. Just kill me.” Mitchan buried her face in her hands. Then, she transformed, grimly determined as she searched her jacket. She pulled out a business card and extended it to Melody. “If he comes back, please call me.”
Melody lifted an arm only long enough to accept the card before returning to drape over Shigure. “Sure.”
Mitchan turned to leave but did a double-take. “Since when did Shigure get a dog?”
“Oh, he’s mine,” Melody replied. “The Sohmas just let Tohru dog-sit for me sometimes.”
Mitchan probably accepted that answer. By the way she was muttering to herself and running frantic hands through her hair, she might not have heard it at all.
Neither of them spoke until they heard the echo of her car door slamming and the engine start. Then, Shigure’s cold nose pressed against her shoulder. “I’m yours, hm?” His voice, so close to her ear, was low and silky.
“Well, I couldn’t tell her the truth, could I?” Melody said a little more defensively than she’d meant to.
Shigure was silent for a beat. “Definitely should’ve suppressed your memories. You’re nothing like Tohru.”
“Not true. She likes dogs, too.”
“Aside from that, the two of you are like night and day.”
“How so?” Melody challenged in a “choose your words carefully” tone. Shigure utterly ignored it.
“Well, unlike you, Tohru is incredibly sweet—”
“I’m sweet!” Melody declared vehemently, snapping her head around to glare at him.
Shigure practically doubled over laughing, his tail finally wagging behind him. “And for another thing,” he attempted, recovering, “Tohru doesn’t have a single devious bone in her body.”
“It’s an art, not a science, so I don’t hold it against her,” Melody said, ending the hug at last. “Especially since it means you and I get along so well.”

Force-sensitive Chiss children. Almost always female. Naturally.
Here was the secret to the Chiss and their seemingly-superior navigational enterprises. The answer was so deliciously ironic, the Sith part of her wanted to kick herself for not realizing it sooner. The rest of her marveled at the possibilities.
Just how advanced with the Force were these children? Thrawn had said the only ability they possessed was precognition, but she had enough experience with the Force to know that it was never that simple. Besides, he didn’t understand the Force—none of the Chiss seemed to—so what did they know, really? Perhaps their Force users were capable of more than they thought.
How did their training differ, anyway, from what she’d received at the Jedi Temple so long ago, when she was just a Padawan and willing to give up her life for corrupt ideals? Were they even trained at all?
But the question truly burning a hole in her mind was this: what made these children lose their Force connection? What little she knew of their culture provided no answer, but she likely wouldn’t have a concrete idea unless she was immersed in it.
If she could just talk to one of these kids, though… If she could just teach them and learn from them in turn…
if she could just take one apart and figure out how they tick—
“Are you still there?” Thrawn’s cultured voice cut through the dark thought that sounded so much like Plagueis in her head, she was shaken by it. Had it been him, reaching her through the Force—or was that the part of her he’d left behind in his wake?
“I’m here,” she responded over the comm. “So when do I get to meet them?”
“You don’t.”
She must have misheard. “What? Thrawn—you don’t dangle power like that in front of a Sith and then yank it back.”
“And when I’m confident that I’m not talking to Lady Inferna, I’ll reopen the issue,” he replied coolly.
Melody emitted a frustrated sigh, glaring at the starlines flying past her ship’s viewport. “Fine. But don’t you want to know why none of them remains a Force user into adulthood?”
“Of course. However, we have more pressing problems to address first, one in particular you could help solve.”
“Oh, I see.” She laughed without mirth. “So you think I’ll be your personal star chart into the Unknown Regions whenever you ask, hm?”
“I think,” Thrawn said smoothly, “you’ll want to challenge yourself.”
“And what? I’m just supposed to close my eyes and ask the Force for precognition powerful enough to compete with hyperspace travel and hope we don’t all die crashing into a star on the way?” She leaned back in her chair, stomping her foot on top of the console. “It doesn’t work that way, Thrawn.”
Melody stewed in the silence, but she was confident that she had him. He couldn’t refute her claims, so the only way he was going to get what he wanted out of her was to give into her own demands.
She was going to meet those—
“Lord Vader could do it.”
Slowly, every move deliberate, Melody placed her foot back on the floor, leaned forward, and brought the comm as close to her mouth as she could.
Softly, she said, “You little bastard.”
He had her.
*
Growing up, Melody had always hated dresses. Not because she had anything against the article of clothing itself but because wearing one had never been on her own terms. When you were part of a family whose members were on fast-tracks toward political power and military advancement, you beat to the drum of maintaining public image and you didn’t complain about it.
The scene currently happening on the deck of the R.L.S. Legacy was so far removed from the life she’d left behind, she had trouble believing it was real. Especially because it was familiar.
Melody didn’t know how it had started. She’d come up from the galley to find that a couple kegs had been brought out and the beer was flowing. Someone—perhaps George Merry—had even brought out a fiddle, and most of the crew were engaged in various styles of dancing. Legs kicking out, arms flailing, but no swishing skirts to be found, even among the female crew members.
Everything was loud and chaotic and messy, and she knew members of the gentry who would faint at seeing their beloved, traditional dances… refashioned like this.
Had there been a mutiny or something?
But no—Captain Amelia was watching the crew’s shenanigans from the quarterdeck, an amused smile softening her feline features. Mr. Arrow was next to her, frowning acutely in displeasure.
That frown was replaced with a hint of mild shock as the ship’s doctor approached, and Melody watched with fascination as Elizabeth talked him into dancing. But then the doctor, she’d noticed, was the type who was determined to include everyone and make sure they had a good time, or else.
“Don’t believe you’ll have much luck swabbin’ the deck through this lot, lad,” John Silver said, somehow appearing next to her without her noticing. “Doubt they’d appreciate you bein’ underfoot.”
“Ah… Yeah.” She shouldered the mop, bucket swinging against the handle like a cradle. “Guess I’ll just see what I can get into below deck.”
“You most certainly will not!” Silver declared. “It’s a party, lad.”
She couldn’t quite keep the surprise off her face. “I thought you were supposed to keep us working until we couldn’t think.”
“Clearly, I’m doing a poor job of it, seeing the thoughts you’re still havin’,” Silver noted. “But I’d be considered poorer still if I let you and Jimbo carry on, miserable, while the rest of us get up to mischief. T’aint no way to inspire loyalty in a crew, you can be sure of that.”
Jim crossed her line of vision then. He wasn’t dancing, but he was smirking knowingly at a furiously-gesticulating Doctor Doppler, many of his violent hand gestures directed in Captain Amelia’s general direction.
Oh, no, Silver was right. She absolutely couldn’t sit this one out downstairs.
“Sounds fair to me, sir,” she said brightly—then had a mild panic because that tone always made her voice go higher, and she always, always forgot that. Hoping he hadn’t noticed, she slung the mop and broom in an out-of-the-way spot by the railing, intending to find it again later.
“Good of you to see reason, my boy.” Silver’s mechanical eye whirled as he took her in. “‘Sides, I have you pegged as a fine dancer, so fine I’ll practically be robbin’ poor George Merry blind tonight.”
“You took a bet on whether I could dance?” Her face turned hot.
“Well, sure, it panned out with the cards, didn’t it?” Silver said with a secret smile that told her all she needed to know about whether she’d gotten completely away with cheating or not. “On a voyage this long, you have to find innocent ways to amuse yourself or you’ll be looking for some not-so-innocent ways, make no mistake.”
“Sorry to tell you, then, that I can’t dance,” she lied, but she could not dance among this crew while she was still trying to hold her cover. She had no idea how to lead a dance like a man, for one thing, and their steps were always different because there were always fewer. Women, as usual, did all the work and flourishes. Plus, alcohol-induced states or not, if anyone got too close to her—
Silver clasped his mechanical hand to his heart. “Are you tryin’ to put this old man into an early grave, lad? Wreakin’ havoc on my constitution, you are.”
“It’s just dancing!” Melody felt like she had to be glowing in the dark, she was blushing so hard. “It’s not like it’s a useful skill.”
“But of course it is, lad! Good practice for footwork, for one thing. For another, how do you ever expect to woo a nice lass if you can’t even dance with her?”
“I told you, I’m becoming a hermit,” she said through gritted teeth.
“Not under my watch, no sir!” With mounting dread, Melody watched as Silver extended his good hand to her. “Take my hand, Mel. I’ll learn you some basic steps by t’under, or else I have no business callin’ myself your commanding officer.”
Melody was begging the stars to send someone to come save her. The Captain, Jim, hell, she’d even take Cutter or Scroop at this point. But none of those sorry bastards came around, and she couldn’t think of any other way out of this.
So she looked everywhere except at Silver because she did not want to know how much her hand was dwarfed by his, and even though there was still space between their bodies, it didn’t matter. Not when she could feel every inch of that mechanical hand against her waist and lower back. Somehow, this was even worse than his usual affectionate touches, probably because she’d learned to expect those.
This… made her light-headed just thinking about, so feeling it… She needed to get this over with, now.
“First, move your left foot—”
“Got it,” she said, already following Silver as he started the basic steps for a waltz. Her right foot was in position before Silver could say anything.
“Well, now!” Silver commended, his eyes twinkling. “A fast learner even in this, eh?”
“Mhmm,” Melody replied. “You can stop worrying about the nice lasses now. I got it.”
“I should say not! How is any lass going to feel comfortable, dancing with a lad who’s rigid as a board and won’t so much as look at her? Why, if I were in her shoes now, I’d be off, cryin’ into my skirts.”
Melody was absolutely going to remember this, and she was absolutely going to pay Silver back for this ten-fold someday.
But right now, this was just like any role she’d played back home. That’s all she had to do, and this could end.
So she loosened the stiffness in her shoulders, practically melting against Silver’s touch. Her movements became smoother, polished. When she raised her head to meet his eyes, it was with a cool, appraising stare but a smile that said she liked what she saw—a deadly combination she’d seen used by the officers at her father’s functions. It had worked for her to see it then, and it would work for her to use now.
“Well?” she asked with a tilt of her head. “How’s this, sir?”
“I think,” Silver said, his voice low, “you’re going to break hearts, lad.” A cheery smile crossed his face and he called louder, “And I think George Merry owes me twenty gold pieces!”
The fiddle screeched to a stop, replaced with George Merry’s loud cursing and the crew’s laughter.
