Room & Board - Part 5 (Tabaeus x Reader)
Anon submitted this prompt:
For the prompt submissions a vampire that feels guilty after feeding/attacking someone so they leave obscenely valuable ancient artifacts as payment/an apology?
Part 1 | Previous | Masterlist | Next
Hours pass and Tabaeus is enthralled with the computer and the Internet. After you provided some supplemental lessons - such as some key sites they may find interesting, how to open documents and save files, and helping them set up a free e-mail account - you left Tabaeus to their own devices. On the promise the vampire would ask you if they had questions or if something - ahem - unseemly popped up.
You’ve managed to reply to your manager and even taken a nap in your room, before deciding to rouse Tabaeus from their Internet fugue.
As you wander into the kitchen, retrieving a soda from the fridge, you call over to Tabaeus over the short distance, “How’s it going?”
“Fine,” they mumble, their shoulders hunched as they lean over the desk, staring a bit too intensely at the screen.
You make a curious sound as you, with your soda in hand, peer over Tabaeus’s shoulder. On the screen, an article about vampires is displayed. It’s from an old site, with a pure black background and obnoxiously ornate font.
“Ah, researching your roots,” you comment with soft amusement as you pop the soda tab open and take a sip. You lay your hand on the back of the chair, fingers just grazing Tabaeus’s shoulder.
Your small touch seems to break through the digital daze. Tabaeus blinks, their eyes shifting from the screen to your hand. You can see reality resetting itself in their brain as they offer you an awkward smile. But the attention is short, as they’re soon turning quickly back to the screen.
“Yes, but seeing these images is making me hungry,” Tabaeus uses the mouse to wave the pointer over the accumulated gallery. You can’t help but notice that much of the depictions involve people clad in nearly translucent gowns, feasting or being feasted upon, in quasi-erotic poses. The bite marks on your throat throb and you recall a hazy memory of how the blood tickled as it dribbled down your skin. You shove the thought away before it can settle and warm your cheeks.
From the way Tabaeus is avoiding your eye, you’re fairly certain their hunger is two-fold. Blood and lust. You try to ignore that realization by grinning at Tabaeus and snarkily asking, “Want a bowl of cereal?”
Their lips press into an unamused line as their red gaze tilts up at you. You merely grin back, delighting in the mild annoyance emanating from them. It’s only when they move to slowly stand that you begin to worry you overstepped some line between you two. Or maybe that’s what you wanted, you realize, as you fumble backward. Even though your heart is thrumming, you can’t seem to find an iota of fear as Tabaeus closes the distance.
Something solid bumps into your back. With a start, you realize Tabaeus has backed you across the small living room, against the far wall. A quick calculation tells you that the vampire is too close for you to slink away and, within a breath of being cornered, Tabaeus is stooped over you.
One of their long-fingered hands plants against the wall, right beside your head. The light scrape of their nails, now longer and darker and curved, hisses against the wall and right into your year. They bring their free hand to your chin, barely touching you. But you still tip your head back, tilting your gaze toward their face.
“You know what I want, little sango sako,” Tabaeus purrs, their clawed fingers delicately trailing along your jaw before coasting down your throat. Somewhere, in a totally separate pocket of your brain, you wonder where their timidness has gone.
“Wh-what does that mean?” Tabaeus’s eyes lazily flick from your neck, back to your face as you speak. You try to clear the stutter from your throat before clarifying, “Sango sako?”
“You do not know esperanto?” A slow smile spreads over Tabaeus’s lips, showing off those fearsome rows of sharp points, as you shake your head.
The smug grin crossing the vampire’s lips makes you balk a little. “Should I?”
“It was supposed to become an international language, so all could communicate.” Tabaeus gives an amused hum. Their gaze travels down your throat and the air in your lungs seize, memories of the last feeding razing over your nerves. Realizing themself, Tabaeus’s attention flicks back to your face and their smile takes on an impish angle, “I called you a little blood bag.”
Your eyes widen as heat bleeds hotter in your cheeks, embarrassment twining with the anticipation of the moment. Before you can even think it, your hands have planted against Tabaeus’s chest and pushed against them. “Oh! You are awful!”
Infuriatingly, the vampire doesn’t even budge. Instead, Tabaeus looks at your arms, head tilted to the side like a cat surveying a bug with interest. “Yes, well you knew what I meant when I said I was hungry.”
You clap your hands around your neck, ignoring the slight ache from where Tabaeus had previously fed. “Well good fucking luck getting a snack off me now! Calling me a bloodbag… geez.”
That curious look returns to your face. A smile tilts at their lips, an easy delight dancing in their eyes. “I am good at waiting.”
“Tabaeus.” Your eyebrows dip as the stern word manages to break free from your tightly pressed lips. As easy-going as Tabaeus is taking the moment, you cannot do the same. Such a casual reminder of how you were a food source reignited some lingering fear from that first night. It’s joined with the apprehension from being enthralled and the uncertainty of trusting a vampire who, allegedly, has lost their memories.
Reading your body language, Tabaeus’s eyes widen and their pointed ears droop. They push themself away from the wall and take a couple steps back, giving you a wide berth of space. Their hands remain at their shoulder height, lightly curled into fists in an attempt to hide their claws. “My apologies, I was only teasing.”
“Yeah, well,” you mumble, still feeling the burn of mortification on your cheeks and still keeping your hands tightly locked around your throat. “Try not to be so convincing next time.”
“Duly noted.” Tabaeus’s fingers start to shift against their palm. One arm lowers as the other reaches toward you, slowly and carefully. You stare as Tabaeus holds out their hand to you. Despite yourself, the earnest look in their eye has you reaching for their hand.
Once your palm grazes theirs, their fingers curl under yours and they lift your hand. They press your bent knuckles to their cheek, leaning their face against your fingers. Tabaeus closes their eyes, a sad crease between their brows as their voice dips softly, “It was not my intention to frighten you. I am so sorry.”
A blush crawls over your cheeks at the touch of Tabaeus’s cheek against your hand. You frown, agitated with yourself as you gently pull your hand from the vampire’s grasp. Their eyes crack open, a pouty frown forming on their lips, but they release you.
“Other than making yourself hungry, have you learned anything new?” The question comes with an edge, reminding Tabaeus of the line they overstepped while trying to maintain a measure of politeness.
“Quite a lot, actually.” Tabaeus straightens, their eyes warming with jubilation. Their guilt over their mistake completely forgotten. If you had known, you would have braced yourself for an array of information that would have satisfied a five-year-old’s curiosity. Soon, you forget how Tabaeus had reignited your concerns and fear, under their onslaught of knowledge.
Did you know that the Japanese have made square watermelons? Or that there are spiders that keep tiny frogs as pets, to keep pests from eating the spider’s eggs? Oh, or that Earth used to be purple and, speaking of the color, there’s only two countries that have it in their flag? And on the historical note, did you know more photos were taken in the past seven years than in all of previous history?
You can’t help but smile and simply nod, occasionally offering a comment, as Tabaeus continues to rattle off fact after fact, often segueing themselves into a completely separate topic. They remind you a little of how you were as a kid, when the Internet opened up so many worlds to you. Cute and charming, in its own way.
When Tabaeus finally seems to be running out of steam, you decide to steer them back towards more pressing topics. “Have you learned anything that explains your memories a bit better?”
“Ah, not quite.” They deflate a little under that question, even though you can’t blame them. The amount of information that has been opened up to them is overwhelming and easy to get distracted by. Though you had been hoping something would spark their own knowledge of the memories. Likely, they need more structured research, but you figure giving them free reign for their first ‘lesson’ will make narrowing down topics easier.
“That’s alright,” you reassure Tabaeus, with a pat on their arm. “I’m going to use the computer now, though.”
“What do you need to research?” The vampire cocks their head to the side and their eyes follow you as you make your way to the computer desk.
“The Internet is for more than just research,” you say as you sit yourself in front of the monitor. You partially thankful Tabaeus hadn’t stumbled onto some more illicit sites. If the barely scandalous gallery on the vampire site got them hungry, you worry what out-and-out porn would do to them. Of course, they never clarified what sort of hunger, so maybe you were just misinterpreting their own body language.
Shaking the line of thought from your head, you enter a URL to a popular home searching site into the bar. “I’d like to find a better place to live.”
Tabaeus’s eyebrows furrow and you can hear them look around your apartment, now with a discerning eye. “Is your current residence not appropriate?”
“Not for the two of us.” You are clicking on various options as you reply. A basement and an attic would be nice, giving options to Tabaeus for a room. You faintly wonder how many rooms you’ll want. Should you plan for others to be involved in this arrangement? What if you found someone to date? Or what if Tabaeus needed another source of blood at some point? What if they aren’t as sincere and naive as they’ve acted?
Your brain spins with possibilities and potentialities. Various could-be futures fracture and spread out in your mind’s eye.
“Oh, I thought it was cozy here.” Tabaeus’s words bring you back to actuality. Turning away from the array of home options, you catch their eye and offer them a slight grin.
“The universe plopped a wealthy vampire into my lap.” Tabaeus opens their mouth and you know they’re going to say that no, they’ve never been in your lap. You cut them off, continuing to speak, “So I might as well try my luck further and buy a house, yeah?”
“You do not own this place?” Realization begins to dawn in Tabaeus’s eyes, their eyebrows ticking upward. The second you shake your head, they scuttle up beside your seated self and crouch down, so they can peer comfortably up at the computer screen. “Well, in that case, let us see what abodes are available, yes?”
“Hah, I knew you’d be up for it,” you lightly laugh and roll your eyes as you turn back to the screen yourself. “You shopaholic, you.”
Though Tabaeus’s eyes don’t turn from the computer, watching as you click on particular features and seeing as the options change, they still have the presence of mind to ask, “Shopaholic?”
“It means you like buying things. A lot.” You glance down at Tabaeus, slightly amused with this absurdly tall vampire sitting at your elbow. Their red eyes catch the glint of the computer screen, making the hue all the more prominent.
Their gaze breaks from the monitor to your face. Hesitantly, as their eyebrows furrow once more, Tabaeus mumbles, “Does not everyone enjoy buying things for themselves?”
At that, you chuckle and your voice takes on a teasing tone, “Technically, you’ll be buying this house for me.”
It doesn’t even take Tabaeus a moment to respond, “Does not everyone enjoy buying things for those they care about, then?”
You’re not sure which has you blushing hotter. The fact they barely even had to think about their retort or the fact Tabaeus - in such a short amount of time - has deemed you ‘someone they care about.’
Trying to hide the fact you’re internally squirming, you try to laugh off their comment. “A house is a little much. Especially since we’ve barely known each other.”
“There is a way to… ah, what was that term?” Tabaeus presses their cheek to the back of your free hand, turning their red gaze up at you from their tilted face. You try to ignore them, keeping your eyes on the house listings, but your heart is thumping loud enough they likely hear it. A toothy smile spreads across their lips as the term finally comes to mind, “Oh, yes! We could speedrun getting to know one another fully, yes?”
That breaks your diligent attempt to ignore them. A laugh bubbles up from your lips and you turn a disbelieving look down at the vampire kneeling beside you. From the way Tabaeus’s smile tilts, they’re enjoying your amusement.
You’re not entirely sure the vampire understands the innuendo in their words. With your eyes narrowing, you try to purse your lips but only manage a puckered smile. “You’re talking about drinking my blood again, aren’t you?”
“Am I that transparent?” A theatrical sigh escapes from Tabaeus, making you roll your eyes. Though your smile doesn’t falter.
You snort, “Afraid so.”
“In that case, I will work on being more artful.” They sit up, finally removing their cheek from your hand, and clap their hands together once. The move reminds you of an out-of-touch teacher, excitedly trying to pump up students. Faintly, you wonder if Tabaeus was in the learning profession at some point, but shake the thought away.
“Alright, let’s focus on this,” you say as you point to the computer screen, where listings of houses are still waiting to be dissected. “Instead of perfecting your seduction of a blood bag.”
At once, Tabaeus’s eyes widen, the determined set of their lips curling into a pout. “I apologized for that!”
A doubtful hum escapes you, which only intensifies Tabaeus’s pout. Without thinking, you lay your hand on their head, gently stroking along their hair. The action startles Tabaeus at first, but they soon relax into it. Their eyes flutter shut and, subtly, you feel them nuzzle their head against your palm.
“Yes, you apologized, but you’re also a super powerful, preternatural creature of the night that should know better.” Your fingers flex in Tabaeus’s hair, tightening in a gentle way. As you experimentally tug, a pitiful sound escapes Tabaeus. The chair creaks as you shift to lean over them. You’re not sure if it’s the sound or if it’s Tabaeus’s own senses that prompt the vampire to open their eyes.
Their eyes widen, seeing your face so close to theirs. If they were capable of blushing, you’re certain redness would flood their cheeks. Your voice dips low and soft, and you whisper, “Forgive me if I hold it over your head forever.”
A whine escapes Tabaeus, their attention completely on you as they weakly nod in understanding. In return, you grin and tug on their hair a little harder than before. Another, almost imperceptible, sound leaves their throat. You notice their chest is rising and falling a little heavier than before and their hands are curled into the fabric of their sweats.
Tabaeus is a temptation, you finally decide. And you’re fairly certain there’s no enthralling happening on the vampire’s part. Well, unless they got much better at controlling the power in the last twenty-four hours, which you decide you shouldn’t entirely discount.
With a final tug of their hair and a boop of your fingertip on their nose, you abruptly turn back to what you were doing. You can feel Tabaeus’s dazed look on you. It takes a few blinks until the vampire realizes nothing more is going to happen.
You say no more about it as you guide the conversation into needs and wants for a new home.
To Tabaeus’s credit, they manage to give input with minimal pouting.

For the fanfic asks … all of them? 😁
HAHAHA Ginger! I mean...you said you'd ask for all of them XD So...I guess I'll answer them all XD.
🍄How do you come up with ideas for your stories?
A variety of ways, sometimes I get inspired to write an AU based on an episode of a show, or a novel etc. Or sometimes my brain just pops ideas into my head.
🍉Are you a pantser or a plotter?
I am very much a plotter. It's also why I don't often get much written because I need SO much to be planned before I can write.
🍒What genres/tropes do you find yourself using most often?
Fluff, 5+1, Domestic Slice of Life, AU's - I am an absolute sucker for AU's.
🥝Who are your literary influences, and have they shaped your own writing?
As much of a problematic person as they were, Anne Rice's first 3 vampire chronicles books were the books that got me thinking...oh I really wanna do this kind of thing. J R R Tolkien's descriptions very much shaped my own (i used to write horrifically long paragraphs). Neil Gaiman inspired my shorter style, quirky dialogue with inside jokes aimed at the reader.
🥕What's your favorite fic you've written, and why?
My favourite fic is a toss up between "Your Arms Are Like Corset Strings" (9-1-1, Buddie) and "Rainbow Coloured Monstrosity" (9-1-1: Lone Star, Tarlos).
The rest I'm gonna put under a cut haha or this post is gonna get SUPER long.
🥨How do you overcome writer's block?
When I work it out I'll tell you haha. I don't think I've ever managed beyond just pushing through and hate-smashing at the keyboard, or just waiting for the inspiration to come back by itself.
🍕What's your favorite comment you've received on a fic?
Honestly as cliche as it might sound, all comments I get are my favourites. I couldn't pick any specific ones, I enjoy comments so much.
🌭Do you have any writing rituals to help 'get in the zone'?
I use a lot of notebooks, I also get really sad and make powerpoint presentations of planning. Then I either listen to music, or put on some series that Ive seen enough times that it can be background noise.
🍔What's a headcanon that hasn't made it into a published fic yet?
I HC a few things for different people but they're not exactly huge things, but have a few examples. I headcanon that Alec Hardy is a huge fantasy novel fan. I headcanon that Eddie Diaz has chronic pain in his shoulders. I headcanon that Aziraphale hates the scent of pine.
🍭What's been your most challenging story to write, and why?
I'm writing a huge multi-part reincarnated soulmates AU, in which the soulmates meet each other throughout history and have different names etc. and it's...taking me soooo long. And honestly it's just because it so long and has so many historical points I need to research hahaha.
🍬What's a genre/trope you've never written, but might in future?
I'm...not sure tbh. Theres a lot of genre's/tropes I don't like or I'm not comfortable with so won't ever touch. But the ones I do like, I've attempted or I am in the process of attempting.
🍩What advice would you give to aspiring fic writers?
Just go for it. Find something you really, really want to see written and write it, because at the end of the day you write for yourself first and foremost. If you try to write to please everyone you'll stress yourself out too much.
🌶How dependent are you on feedback, good or bad?
Bad feedback is never warranted. I do not write for profit so therefore do not need amazon style reviews. Nor do I ask for constructive criticism. I appreciate if someone wants to tell me they like what I wrote though.
🥑What are you currently working on?
I am currently working on a bunch of things: Doctor Who x Good Omens crossover - The events of "The Giggle" with Crowley tagging along. Broadchurch Whump - 2 entries, poor Alec is getting tormented. Broadchurch x Good Omens x Rab C Nesbitt crossover - Alec, Crowley and Davina are identical triplets. Shenanigans ensue. Buddie birthday gift for someone dear to me. Buddie soulmates AU.
🍹How do you decide a story is ready to post?
I finish writing it haha. I let it come to a natural stopping point and then try not to over think it.
🍊What's a story that changed significantly from its initial idea to the final draft?
My reincarnated soulmates AU. I've changed so many historical points and condensed some and completely scrapped a whole half of it haha.
🥠What's your approach to world-building?
Powerpoints. Powerpoints and mind maps haha. If I'm going AU I will plan it like I'm Tolkien creating middle earth haha XD.
🍎How do you prioritize which stories to work on when you have multiple ideas?
I don't. My brain goes brrr and tries to plan all of them at once to the point I can't work on ANY of them haha.
🌮How do you balance the desire to write for yourself versus the desire to write for an audience?
I have been writing on and off since I was 13, and I used to write entirely for the audience and it stressed me out. Whilst I enjoy audience responses and like to receive comments confirming that they enjoyed what I wrote, if I don't like it, I won't post it, but if I enjoyed what I wrote I will love it regardless.

listening to the PS:2 soundtrack again in an attempt to bite the bullet and psyche myself up to watch both films back to back in August(? that's the goal at least, if i get to watch it earlier even better) and i have been stuck on Veera Raja Veera for an hour and a half. i have also figured out my personal ranking for all versions of the song at last and it went about as well as i would have expected. it started to get too long for the f*cking tags tho so i decided to put in this post, we'll see how it goes from here—list is in order from least liked to most liked btw
5. going to start this off by saying i'm so so sorry to Gulzar but it's something about the rhythm for me. the lyrics are lovely but the way they are lining up with the music in the Hindi version,,,,,,, or failing to in certain parts,,,,,, it's not it. it's not it. it does well in the first minute or so and then heads downhill from there, and tbh it's not his fault i think it's just the sheer amount of syllables that they have to fit in compared to the original? and with that in mind it's not going to sound the same, obviously, but what salvages it from being a complete disappointment is the way we got both Shreya Ghoshal and Kavita Krishnamurthy as a duet in this year of our Lord 2023. Kavita, who still sounds the same as she did on the Dil Se soundtrack singing Satrangi Re and the Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam soundtrack and the Devdas soundtrack and the Yaara Dildaara soundtrack and the K3G soundtrack with Bole Chudiyan and Shreya Ghoshal who is a pleasure to listen to on practically everything she touches (Bajirao Mastani and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and that aalap just before her verse with Kavita here i'm looking at you) and— *inhales* *exhales* ok. do appreciate them letting Kavita take the 'चुन चुन चुन चुन / जाली रे जाली चिंगारी' portion in the Hindi translation bc she sounded beautiful there. (she always reminded me of Lata in that regard i think, and for some inexplicable reason i've by extension connected the two of them to Zohra Sehgal in some of her roles)
favorite line — 'दुश्मन पे टूटे जब | बिजलियों का वीर' / 'dushman pe toote jab | bijilyon ka vaar'. this is one of those times where the rhythm works in their favor and works well, and it leads perfectly into the rest of the verse imo. also @ that one guy going 'योद्धा~~' / 'yodhaa~~' at the very end of the song ty for your service
3. in contrast to the rhythm problems of the Hindi the Kannada recording is very smooth? i don't know if that makes sense as someone who doesn't speak the language but it's like water. like water in a stream just one after another going over the stones in the riverbed as it passes or the waves lapping against the side of the ship or the gentle sound wind chimes make when they hit against each other in the lightest breeze—the phrasing doesn't feel forced (ty Jayant Kaikini sir) and the syllables match the music as well as the original. ofc Rakshita Suresh and Sivasri Skandaprasad have a part to play with their solos in this sounding as good as it does, despite its ranking on my list (which will be explained in the next entry), and while i expected nothing less from Rakshita after Kirunage, this is the first i'm hearing from Sivasri and she blew me away. i had to listen to it several times to be able to tell them apart, and i might still be wrong bc their voice color is very, very similar, but they took what Rahman gave them and made it their own. (is it Rakshita that starts and Sivasri that continues? i'm thinking that it alternates between them with Sivasri ending that portion)
favorite line — 'ಮಳೆಗರೆವಾಗ ಬಾಣ | ಅಡಗಳು ಎಲ್ಲಿ ತಾಣಾ' / 'malegarevaaga baana | adagalu elli thaana'. this is where the river analysis stands out to me bc this feels like putting pebbles said river into a tumbler and rolling them over and over until they come out smooth and polished and just. right. (i am using the word smooth a lot to talk about the Kannada version sksksksk but can you blame me)
3. technically Malayalam and Kannada tie for third place on here (there is no fourth place. there is 4.75th place rounded up to fifth place and that belongs to the Hindi entry as previously stated) but Malayalam has the slightest edge for me. in terms of sound/pronunciation it's the closest to the original—i know most scholars believe that Malayalam descended from Tamil and split early on, so that might have something to do with it, but it sounds like a perfect cross between the flow of Kannada and the strength of the Tamil and ugh. pair that with Srinivas featuring and Shweta Mohan taking on that solo (by herself!!! and eating that sh*t like it was a duet!!!) and Rafeeq Ahamed as the lyricist and i play it almost as often as i play the original. (i was almost half expecting to hear the extension at the end in this version, that's how good it was)
favorite line — 'കടലിൽ ചുഴലി പോലെ | തവ നൗക കളിരമ്പി' / 'kadalil chuzhali pole | thava noukakalirambi'. i am in love with what Shweta does here, especially with the latter half of the line ('... നൗക കളിരമ്പി' / 'noukakalirambi') since she just heads straight into the 'വൻകടൽ...' and for some reason that is so auditorily pleasing to me. i don't have any rational thoughts behind that that's just how it is. her aalap before her verse is also breathier/softer than Shreya's if that makes sense but it fits her perfectly
2. Telugu. holy f*ck, Telugu. you put Shankar Mahadevan (i don't think i've ever heard him sing a bad song. ever. at least not what i've heard) and Chinmayi (Tere Bina???? Mayya Mayya???? Titli???? i'm still not over any of them from her????) in the same song you make every f*cking verse rhyme almost exactly courtesy of Chandrabose if Kannada is the sound of water then Telugu is pure silk and honey and the feel of something melting in your mouth and you expect me to stay alive? the actual f*ck? admittedly i may be biased bc one of my OCs is Telugu and i have been putting Telugu covers from my Bollywood playlist on loop for inspo but uh Rahman what the f*ck. what the f*ck am i supposed to do with that kind of genius
favorite line(s) — 'సమరం శ్రుతించైరా శిఖరం స్పృశించైర' / 'samaram shruthinchaira shikharam spushinchaira' & 'విధిగా తెగించైర | విధినే వదించైర | విలయం దరించైర | విజయం వరించైర' / 'vidhigaa thegincheyraa | vidhine vadhincheyraa | vilayam dharincheyraa | vijayam varincheyraa'. the f*cking alliteration? hello? also the 'veera raja veera' at the end of this version in particular gives me full body chills bc there is someone going up with the harmonization every time there's a new line. i don't know who it is but he's (they're? could be multiple vocals) going up and i am crying shaking throwing up on the floor having a spiritual experience etc etc
and finally 1. the top spot. the place where everything has been leading through this long ass piece that i have put you to suffer through
and ykw Tamil is pretty much self-explanatory i think: we bring Shankar back as we should but this time K.S Chithra (Asoka!!! Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon!!! Bombay and Thoda Thoda from Indira/Priyanka and the live version of Jiya Jale that Rahman did in Dubai!!!) and Harini (also sang for Indira/Priyanka and featured on Varayo Thozhi from Jeans) are with him and Ilango Krishnan's lyrics take over and flatline me on the f*cking operating table. before it flatlines me however i break into goosebumps every time i hear it start, bc lbh it is impossible not to when you have the f*cking vocals coming in like 'காணீரோ? நீர் காண் | சோழ வெற்றி வாள் ஒன்றை காணீரோ? | ஓ அழகிய பூவே! செல்லுதியோ | மலரிடு போ சகி!' if you stay sane during that opening you are a liar get off my feed unfollow and block i don't want you anywhere near me for the next six years or however long it takes Mani Ratnam to make his next masterpiece. no coherent thoughts head empty MV playing on loop he and Rahman own me now they have the copyrights
favorite line (had to split everything into two blocks bc Tumblr was tryin to f*ck up my sh*t) — 'எம் தமிழ் வாழ்க வாழ்க! | வீர சோழம் வாழ்க! | நற்றமிழ் வாழ்க வாழ்க! | நல்லோர் தேசம் வாழ்க!' / 'em thamizh vaazhga vaazhga! | veera sozham vaazhga! | natramizh vaazhga vaazhga! | nallor thesam vaazhga!'. technically this isn't my favorite favorite line bc i have to do a seperate ranking for that below + it's exclusive to the Tamil version and i am trying to make this a wholistic review but. it's f*cking up there let's just say that. i think i mentioned in the tags of a different post of how i've been doing genealogy research and (in the process) tentatively confirmed the possibility of there being some South Asian descent from my dad's side, specifically Tamil or Telugu based on the stories/timeline of French occupation in the Caribbean and portions of the Indian subcontinent, and there's something in me that shifts every time we get down to the last twenty or so seconds and this hits. i don't know what it is, truly—maybe the remnants of the genes of my ancestors and their pride for their land, their language—but it's there and it's loud and if it's the right day at the right time i will start crying btw. full on sobbing like a little bitch. you didn't ask but i told you anyway
after all of *motions* that, i am also offering a bonus ranking of the section of VRV that makes me rewind every f*cking time it comes on in every language, bc it featured heavily in creating my eventual rankings and i would be remiss to not mention it. so here have this additional dive into my thought process during these trying times of hyperfixation rip
'आंधी से तेज़ | तूफ़ान से तेज़ | चुन चुन चुन चुन | जाली रे जाली चिंगारी | अंग अंग अंग अंग | लागे रे लागे अंगारे' / 'aandhi se tez | toofaan se tez | chun chun chun chun | jaali re jaali chingaari | ang ang ang ang | laagey re laagey angaare', Hindi — still at the bottom of the list here, but the inflection during the repetition ('chun chun chun chun' and 'ang ang ang ang') salvages it somewhat. nothing else to say it about it otherwise, since i already addressed Kavita's voice here earlier
'വാക്കാകെ നീ കാറ്റാക നീ | ശര ശര ശര ശരമേയ്ക | വേൽമഴ നെയ്തിട് | റ പറ പറ പറ വിറകൊൾക | പായട്ടെ പായ്വഞ്ചികൾ' / 'vaakkaaka nee kaattaaka nee | shara shara shara sharameyka | velmazha neythidu | para para para para virakolka | paayatte paayvanchikal', Malayalam — taking that third place as always, but its tied partner in the general rankings is higher up in this list for a change. i think the very last part ('പായട്ടെ പായ്വഞ്ചികൾ' / 'paayatte paayvanchikal') is what throws me off tho bc of the way they distributed the line, since on the first listen i was expecting them to go 'paayatte paayvan-chi-kal' and they chose 'paayatte pa-ay-van-chikal' instead. it's not like it decreases the overall quality of the song or anything it's just a very specific hang up i have. who knows maybe my preferred pronunciation would have f*cked with the meaning and we do not want that
'సుడిగాడ్పులా అడుగేయరా | సర సర సర సర | శరమే తనువే తాకగా | చర చర చర చర | చెలరేగాలి వేగంగా' / 'sudi gaadpulaa adugeyyaraa | sara sara sara sara | sharame thanuve thaakagaa | chara chara chara chara | chelaraegaali vegangaa', Telugu — this ties with Malayalam for third place and, much like it, my quirk is specfically with the last part ('చెలరేగాలి వేగంగా' / 'chelaregaali vegangaa'). my preferred is 'chelare-gaali ve-gan-gaa', they gave me 'chelare-gaa-li ve-gan-gaa'. again, not an issue, this is just me, i'm sure they knew what they were doing otherwise they wouldn't have recorded it like that in the first place
'ನೀ ಜ್ವಾಲೆಯು ನೀ ಗಾಳಿಯೂ | ಸರ ಸರ ಸುರಿವ | ಮಳೆಯಂತೆ ಶೂಲಗಳು | ಭರ ಭರ ಭರ ಭರನೆ | ಭೋರ್ಗರೆವ ಪಂಜುಗಳು' / 'nee jwaaleyu nee gaaliyuu | sara sara suriva | maleyanthe shoolagalu | bhara bhara bhara bharane | bhorgareva panjugalu', Kannada — there are at least two portions here that sound eerily similar to the original and that is why this version has moved up to spot two. it takes that water comparison i made and uses it to its advantage so much and it rotates in my mind like a rotisserie chicken at just at the right angle and it's just!!!! it's just!!!! God pls keep me from putting this in my mouth and biting it's too good
'கூற்றாகிச் செல்... | காற்றாகிச் செல்... | சர சர சர சரவெனவே | மழை தான் பெய்திட | பர பர பர பரவென | பாயட்டும் பாய்மரம்' / 'kootraagi sel... | kaatraagi sel... | sara sara sara saravena | velmazhai thaan peidhida | para para para paravena | paayattum paaimaram', Tamil — when this hits i blank out and come to at random intervals. cannot pinpoint the time the place etc but it happens and when it does i go f*cking feral. this one i am indeed putting in my mouth and biting bc the entire thing from 'para para...' onwards??? more alliteration more alliteration more f*cking alliteration. i remember someone making a post on here that said that certain parts of VRV sound like pearls bouncing off of the floor (was it @mizutaama? i apologize for the tag but i think that was you) and i think this is what they were referring to but my ears are that f*cking floor. i thank God every day for that
anyway mutuals (and non-mutuals who are just as obsessed about PS as i am) i'm sorry for clogging your feed with my opinions on a film i haven't even watched properly, pls feel free to roast me about my ranking choices. or agree but it doesn't really matter at this point bc even tho i could be talking out of my ass in terms of actually speaking said languages (i,,,,, do not unfortunately) i've said what i needed to say sksksksk
#film: ponniyin selvan ii#ponniyin selvan ii#ponniyin selvan: ii#ps:2#ponniyin selvan#veera raja veera#jayam ravi#sobhita dhulipala#mani ratnam#a.r. rahman#kollywood#tl:dr: local gay takes that specific 'கூற்றாகிச் செல்... / காற்றாகிச் செல்...' section of Veera Raja Veera#and uses it as the base for their personal ranking of all five versions solely based on how it is translated and sung#writes an essay about it chooses their favorite lines from said versions that are not That One and posts it to tumblr.com .txt#look!!! i actually dragged myself away from streaming Shinee long enough to complete this thing that i've had#sitting in my drafts for weeks (the language analysis that is)!!!#it is f*cking hilarious at this point simply bc this is nowhere near the order of the rankings for Ponni Nadhi#like the list for that is upside down. dare i say inverted almost#i might do something for it as well in this same format idk but#doing this for VRV made me realize that every other language (except Hindi bc they have a diff version of the line)#pronounces 'soora' as 'shoora'. i think Malayalam's 'shoora' is the least pronounced and is almost ambiguous. almost not quite#you could mistake it for 'soora' but there's just enough aspiration(?) there to tell you that it's not. Telugu's 'shoora' too#the aspiration almost completely disappears when listening on Spotify it's much more prominent on Youtube#this feels like i should have posted it on my studyblr but i think i'll just reblog it there instead

*Laylatul Qadr*
- and The Last Ten Nights -
• Laylatul Qadr is in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan, i.e. 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, 29th or the last night of Ramadan. Whoever worships in this night with faith in order to earn reward will be forgiven for all his previous sins. Some of its signs are as follows: The night will be open, bright and extremely clear. It is neither too hot nor too cold, the weather is quite normal at this night and the moon is clearly visible. The devils are not struck with stars the whole night.
Allah عزوجل has decided to keep Laylatul Qadr a secret, so we don't know for sure as to which night Laylatul Qadr is. Sayyidatuna 'Aishah Şiddiqah عرضی الله تعالى عنها has narrated that the Prophet ﷺ has said, ‘Look for in the odd nights of the last ten days of (i.e. the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th and the 29th).’
(Şahih Bukhārī, pp. 662, vol. 1 Hadīth 2020)
• We must not spend these nights in heedlessness. We should spend them repenting of sins, reciting Istighfar, Salawat, Salām and Dhikr.
• Whoever worships in this night is rewarded more than the worship of 1000 months, (which implies) more than 83 years and 4 months. Only Allah and Rasullulah ﷺ (who was informed by Allah) know how much 'more’.
• Aishah رضي الله عنها narrated that she asked the Prophet ﷺ ‘Ya Rasulallah ﷺ! What should I recite if I find Laylatul Qadr? The Prophet ﷺ replied, 'Make this Du'a:
‎اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ كَرِيمٌ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي
‘Ya Allah ! You are indeed the Forgiver and the Benevolent, You also like forgiving, so forgive me.'
(Jāmi' Tirdmidhi, p. 306, vol. 5 Hadith 3524)
If only we all would recite this Du'a at least once every night we'll be blessed with Laylatul Qadr any night. If not every night, recite it repeatedly at least on the odd nights. In addition, if Allah عزوجل gives you the ability, stay awake the whole night; read Quran, recite Salawat and Salām , and try to spend your time offering Nafl Salah.
• Sayyidunā Jibrail عليه السلام and other angels descend at this night and shake hands with the worshippers. Each and every moment of this blessed night is full of peace that remains till dawn. It is a huge grace of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ that He عَزَّوَجَلَّ has granted this glorious night only to His Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّم and his Ummah for his sake.
Allah عَزَّوجل says in the Holy Quran:
Undoubtedly, We sent it down in the blessed night. And do you know what the blessed night is? The blessed night is better than a thousand months. Therein descend angels and Jibräil by the commandment of their Rab for every affair. That is all peace till the rising of the dawn. (Part 30, Sürah Qadr)

17 questions to 17 people :)

2) Zodiac: Leo
3) Height: 5'11-ish?
4) Last thing I googled: "Irithyll Straight Sword"
5) Song stuck in my head: the coventry carol (I've been trying to force a christmas mood by playing my creepy medieval carol playlist).
6) Number of people you follow: 384
7) Amount of sleep you get: 6 hours or so. Not enough.
8) Lucky numbers: 17.
9) Dream job: echoing the "I do not dream of labour" response, but adding that I would like to write music for 16-bit era RPGs, and write weird New Weird short stories that are part of a loosely shared universe. (in other words, my secret hobbies).
10) What are you currently wearing: see recent selfie post.
11) Movies/books that summarize me: Choke by Chuck Palahniuk, Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. - I dunno... I Heart Huckabees?
12) What is your favorite instrument: Piano forever. Glockenspiel to hear, but not play.
13) Favorite song right now: I haven't been listening to music much lately (besides the christmas carols). I've been practicing "The Christmas Light" recently though, and remembering that I think it is good.
14) Describe your aesthetic: white-out blizzards, and half-asleep neon dreamscape time-crashing night-time gamer casual?
15) Favorite author: Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. 100%. I like the style of Thomas Pynchon, but he doesn't like to write coherent plots.
16) Favorite animal: Like, house cats. Especially those exotic shorthairs that look like sad pringles man.
17) Random fact about myself: Every fact about me is fun. You fuckers just don't care.

Twisted Wonderland - Into the ocverse pt1
• Charmie Whitbit
Age: 16
Pronouns: He/Him
Height: 5'5
Birthday: February 27 (Pisces)
Dorm: Heartslabyul
Class: Freshman, 1B
About Charmie: An anxious young man who was bullied quite a lot during his elementary and middle school years, which resulted in his very flighty and frightful personality. He has a habit of pulling on his ears when he's nervous.
Charmie is the middle child of around 20 siblings and he is often overlooked and somewhat neglected by the older family members, however, his younger siblings adore him.
He was raised on a farm in a small village in the Southern part of the Land of Pyroxene, where they mainly grew Ruby Berries. The small village holds a Ruby Berry festival every year during the summer, it is quite famous for its jams, jellies, and preserves.
Despite being fearful of everything with a shadow, Charmie is a hardworker and a very dependable person to rely upon. If need be, he can stand up for himself (if you can get past the stuttering and sputtering that he does).
He is an introvert who usually gets adopted by extroverts.
Facts:
• Based/twisted from The White Rabbit from Alice In Wonderland.
• His last name is a mix of (Whit)e and Rab(bit).
• Loves all animals, his favorite being turtles and ducks.
• Dislikes carrots and lettuce and doesn't appreciate people making assumptions that he does.
• Close friends with Harriet Milliner, Trey Clover, and Jack Howl. Wishes to be closer with Sebek Zigvolt.
Tumblr media
• Finn Silverstream
Age: 17
Pronouns: He/Him
Height: 5'11
Birthday: November 5 (Scorpio)
Dorm: Octavinelle
Class: Sophomore, 2D
About Finn: Due to his silent and intimidating personality, people avoid him most of the time. And since he's not too great with interacting with others, he tends to glare at people he wishes to be friends with. But he is kind hearted and likes to tell jokes.
Finn is an only child, only having a cousin who is quite younger than him. Because he is blind, his mother was quite overprotective of him and, even now, coddles him, saying that it's dangerous for him to out in the world by himself due to his disability. He's somewhat annoyed by this since he can manage just fine on his own. His relationship with his mother is strained since attending NRC.
Finn is quiet and reserved and doesn't talk much, but whenever he does he's very blunt and to the point, sometimes being a bit harsh. He knows a lot of things and tends to be the main source to get gossip material from, once Idia referred to him as NRC's npc.
Facts:
• Finn is based off of a Cavefish, which are a species that are blind. Southern Cavefish are also deaf to high-pitched noises, which he is based off of.
• His father is a merperson while his mother is human, making him only half merperson. He isn't too sure if he can actually grow a tail because of this.
• Absolutely despises fried food, it makes his stomach upset.
• Close friends with Azul Ashengrotto, Thorn Bramblesher, Jamil Viper, and Lillia Vonrouge. Wishes to be closer to Rook Hunt.
Tumblr media
• Sarvesh Kumar
Age: 17
Pronouns: He/Him
Height: 5'3
Birthday: July 30 (Leo)
Dorm: Savanaclaw
Class: Sophomore, 2A
About Sarvesh: A dignified young man who dislikes being seen as a child and wants to be seen as an adult. Hates whenever he is babied or is treated like a child and will pitch a fit. He tends to look down on others who don't follow a gentlemanly, grown up path.
Sarvesh has an older brother twenty years his senior and they have never gotten along. His father was a founder of a large tech company in Scalding Sands, which is now owned by Sarvesh's older brother.
Since he is so young and was born to older parents, he was given certain expectations growing up, which caused him to develop a superiority complex. His brother always treated him like a baby and never took him seriously, sometimes even mocking him whenever he showed childish behavior.
A small part of Sarvesh wishes that he could act like everyone his age and secretly indulges it by eating candy, reading comics/manga, and playing rhythm games. But everytime he does so, guilt eats away at him.
Facts:
• Based/twisted from Shere Khan from The Jungle Book, which makes him a tiger beastman.
• He is currently thinking of transferring over to Diasomnia because he believes that Malleus is a better leader than Leona. Especially after what happened before the Spelldrive tournament.
• Allergic to lamb, he will break out in hives if he eats it or any food that comes into contact with it.
• Close friends with Riddle Rosehearts and Karan Devi. Wishes to be closer with Malleus Draconia and Azul Ashengrotto. Does not get along with Leona Kingscholar, Ruggie Bucchi, and Jamil Viper.
Tumblr media
• Cybil Onyquartz
Age: 16
Pronouns: They/Them
Height: 5'9
Birthday: April 20 (Taurus)
Dorm: Ignihyde
Class: Freshman, 1D
About Cyril: A being of chaos that doesn't know when to slow down, constantly on the move and speaking a mile a minute. Tends to say things they don't mean to say out loud, which gets them into trouble a lot of times.
Cybil is the oldest of 4 siblings, who don't really take them seriously since they are a goof. Their father stays at home and watches the kids while their mother is a History teacher at Lovegrove Academy, she's quite disappointed that Cybil chose to attend NRC instead.
They are quite clumsy and forgetful, always sporting a bruise or scratch from where they accidentally smacked against something or got during Spelldrive practice. They like to be upbeat and prefer most situations to be full of laughter, although they know when to be serious when the time calls for it.
Despite them being quite extroverted, Cybil likes to be in their room working on potions. When you go past their room, you can hear them maniacally cackling. No one likes going past their room.
Facts:
• Based off of a rose quartz. Their entire family is based off gems and their last name is (Ony)x Quartz.
• Will not eat anything with raisins in it, doesn't even like grapes.
• Has septum and cartilage piercings that they keep hidden due to dress codes.
• Close friends with Gohar Alinejad, Kalim Al-Asim, Ruggie Bucchi, and Ace Trappola. Wishes to be closer with Cater Diamond and Floyd Leech.
Tumblr media
(A/N: Originally all my oc's were just made to be paired with canon characters for romance purposes, but decided to flesh them out and give them more personality lol. Also, Lovegrove Academy is supposed to be like, the opposite of NRC, an all girls college based off of the animal villains.)

Judges 5: 24-27. "The Sink."
Tumblr media
The Song of Deborah continues with a hint at what happens after one acquires Ha Shem. The experience is inextinguishable so after all the meditation and study of the Torah and agonizing over everything, the Rab says it will all be driven from the mind and the past self will die:
24 “Most blessed of women be Jael,     the wife of Heber the Kenite,     most blessed of tent-dwelling women. 25 He asked for water, and she gave him milk;     in a bowl fit for nobles she brought him curdled milk. 26 Her hand reached for the tent peg,     her right hand for the workman’s hammer. She struck Sisera, she crushed his head,     she shattered and pierced his temple. 27 At her feet he sank,     he fell; there he lay. At her feet he sank, he fell;     where he sank, there he fell—dead.
The Values in Gematria are:
v. 24: The goal of Deborah "the Establishment" is Heber of Kenite, "an association with people who understand the power of Constitution." I've said in previous frames it makes no sense to meditate and study the Torah and attempt to be a part of an ungodly planet. This makes God look like a hypocrite. This is a big problem on this planet, how the printed words "thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself" and "it is illegal to force a woman to carry an unwanted pregnancy" but nowhere no how do these things ever seem to make a damn bit of difference.
The Shoftim says he or she who aspires to do so, a person called a Jael, "a very good goat" is like a resident in a tent; a temporary shelter that shields one from the elements but is not at all home sweet home. Every Jew on this planet is a goat in a tent, waiting for the world to Constitute itself within the law.
The Value in Gematria is 6488, ודחח‎‎‎ ‎ "rejected and pushed."
v. 25: A bowl is the depression inside one's heart. It is where one hopes one's fondest wish will one day be found. The Shoftim says our good goat expected the water of freedom while he was waiting in his tent, but the Establishment gave him rotten milk instead.
The Value in Gematria is 3413, ג‎דאג‎, doug, "worried."
To worry is to be able to predict all the ways an unscrupulous people and their Democracy will not successfully avoid corruption just as ours has not. It would have been so easy to arrest Donald Trump after the election fraud bullshit in 2016, close the Republican Party down then and get onto the business of government in this town, but we did not do that. This is indeed worrisome:
"And Moshe grew up and he went out to his brethren.... He saw an Egyptian man beating an Israelite... and he smote the Egyptian…. And he went out on the next day... and he said to the wicked man: “Why are you striking…?”
And [that person] replied: “Do you intend to kill me...?”
Moshe became frightened and said: “The matter has indeed become known....” And Pharaoh heard... and he sought to kill Moshe. And Moshe fled....2
On the phrase,3 “And Moshe became frightened,” Rashi comments:
[The verse should be understood] according to its simple meaning. [Alternatively,] according to the Midrash,4 he was worried because he saw wicked informers among the Jewish people. He thought, “So perhaps they will not deserve to be redeemed.”
The question arises: Why does the simple meaning (that Moshe feared for his life because it had become public knowledge that he killed the Egyptian) not suffice?5 Why must Rashi also cite the interpretation of the Midrash6 — his fear that his brethren would not deserve to be redeemed — which is not at all alluded to in the verse?7
It is possible to offer a simple resolution to the above questions. Rashi was seeking to address a general difficulty raised by the verse: “And Moshe became frightened and said, ‘The matter has indeed become known.’ ” Why does the Torah mention this point?8 After all, Moshe’s fear did not lead to any action, for he did not flee to Midian until after Pharaoh heard about the matter and sought to kill him.9
To resolve this question, Rashi cites the interpretation of the Midrash which explains that Moshe’s fear was not motivated by concern for his own future, but rather came as a result of his worry that the Jewish people were not worthy of redemption.10"
v. 26: I have stated above a contemplative and law abiding culture need worry about its religion very much at all. Except we are living in Godless times and need to worry about it quite a lot. The inverse form of seeking Ha Shem, finding Him and leaving religion behind is to kill all thoughts found within the former faiths and start over with a fresh look at the Torah.
The Value in Gematria is 5285, הבחח, "sneeze." A sneeze, which resets the central nervous system also resets one from all incorrect concepts associated with Ha Shem.
Ha Shem means "The Knower of All." We give Him zero credit for all He knows and does. To sneeze is to stop giving onself too much credit and become humble before the manifest reality one is a part of. None of us knows everything about God, that is a ridiculous thing to say or think. This is not possible. But we can know Ha Shem. To make His Acquaintance is the goal of all spiritists, and this does not require a foolish self-fellated middle man who knows nothing at all about anything.
v. 27: To sink is to use the mind not one's circumstances to realize one is Jael, a good goat, but even still one is not particularly good at being human.
The Value in Gematria is 3116, גא‎או‎, "to bleat, to be brought low, to have arrived at the lowest point." The Rab says to be brought low is liberating:
From Ecclesiastes 3:
18 I also said to myself, “As for humans, God tests them so that they may see that they are like the animals. 19 Surely the fate of human beings is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath[c]; humans have no advantage over animals. Everything is meaningless. 20 All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return. 21 Who knows if the human spirit rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?” 22 So I saw that there is nothing better for a person than to enjoy their work, because that is their lot. For who can bring them to see what will happen after them?
There are signs we are going down into the earth like animals digging for a place to wallow. Ours is not the holy work that will lead to happiness.
We know this is not what we are doing, and we know we are not going to last very long if we do not stop. So why have we not stopped? We are being lazy and spoiled. We think the cause of our future happiness includes the belief someone else will clean up the mess.
This sloppiness towards the law and the laws of nature is costing us time, money, our health, and all of our future prosperity. What is happening all around the world is coming to your house in the not too distant future this is already obvious.
The desire to be just a goat in a tent praying and crying out in a language no one grasps is not going to fix anything. As Solomon states above, "as the effort, so the result."
Is it fate or is it destiny? Fate happens one way or the other, a destiny is earned. In order to understand how to change the nature of the effort, to stop sinking and change our destiny we will need to conclude this Midrash on the Song of Deborah. This happens next.

Mormon Chapter 2, Part 5. "The Power of the Volcano."
Tumblr media
The Prophet says he saw persons heaped up like dung by the tens of thousands. How times have not changed. Even though this level of carnage had happened before and seemed like it would never end, the Prophet says his sorrow returned again and again. Without sorrow, there is no way such tragedies will end and then be prevented. Where there is no sadness, such as the world witnessed after the Repubicans and Mormons attacked Israel alongside Hamas on Octover 7, or after Mike Johnson, the Speaker of the House rejected the appeal for help of the people of Ukraine, our humanity is at risk, and who will restore it after it is lost?
Will some celestial being descend from the clouds and give it back? When has this ever happened? The world needs to be made to be sad if it is to change:
15 And it came to pass that my sorrow did return unto me again, and I saw that the day of grace was passed with them, both temporally and spiritually; for I saw thousands of them hewn down in open drebellion against their God, and heaped up as dung upon the face of the land. And thus three hundred and forty and four years had passed away.
16 And it came to pass that in the three hundred and forty and fifth year the Nephites did begin to flee before the Lamanites; and they were pursued until they came even to the land of Jashon 'the power of a volcano", before it was possible to stop them in their retreat.
The Values in Gematria follow.
v. 15: And it came to pass that my sorrow did return after three hundred forty four years. The Value in Gematria is 13948, יג‎טדח‎, "will grind."
According to the Rab, experiences of sadness must be ground up, turned into an elixir and used to contribute to one's evolution. Sadness is an obvious sign something of value has been lost or something that is wrong can be made right. Without sadness there is no point to law and order, religion, prayer, the sacraments, nor can any relationship we value thrive if we do not recognize when one should experience sadness or how to dress it.
American society is as yet fully incapable of grinding over its civil rights woes and all the death and fear they have caused. An expression of deep sadness in the government must come first, the history of this sadness must be taught in schools, public failures to show sadness must be ground, thoroughly chastised.
v. 16: And it came to pass that in the three hundred and forty and fifth year the Nephites did begin to flee before the Lamanites. The Value in Gematria is 10327, יג‎בז‎, yagbetz, "immature behavior" AKA Jashon, the Power of the Volcano, or "reconciliation with the truth, before and after."
"How can we reconcile the attributes of G‑d of mercifulness and kindness with cosmic catastrophes such as volcanic eruptions and the like, involving the loss of human life, etc.
There are many circumstances involved in each event, in addition to time and location. However, there is one general answer to such apparently inexplicable occurrences, which will become clearer through the following illustration:
Suppose one encounters an individual for a brief period of time, finding him asleep, or engaged in some arduous toil. Now, if the observer would want to conclude from what he sees during that brief period of time as to the nature of the individual he had observed, he would then conclude that the individual has an unproductive existence—in the first instance; or leads a life of torture—in the second.
Obviously, both conclusions are erroneous, inasmuch as what he saw was only a fraction of the individual’s life, and the state of sleep was only a period of rest and preparation for activity, and—in the second instance—the toil was a means to remuneration or other satisfaction which by far outweighs the effort involved.
The truth is that any shortsighted observation, covering only a fraction of time or of the subject, is bound to be erroneous, and what may appear as negative will assume quite a different appearance if the full truth of the before and after were known."
So sadness at the political and socioeconomic levels represents a failure to analyze all the ways the government appears to be incapable of doing its job but really could be doing its job.
At the level of the personal, immature behaviors and their destructive capabilities must never be taken for granted. As the Rab says, failure to be sad or to do the work to alleviate sadness prevents proper observance of Shabbat, and all sad things must end in time for Shabbat.
As far as the continuity in the Book of Mormon goes, Jesus has left the building and we are back to Mormon the Prophet who says there are spiritual and temporal solutions to the problems facing the modern world, one only a Newer New Testament could possibly address.
We still need to find the identities of the 12 Temporal Jaredite Plates "secular words" in order to completely understand all the intentions God had for the giving of this Book of Mormon and we have two more Books to go. Their names must be ahead. I donot believe they are the names of the 12 original Disciples or the Apostles, the Prophet refrains from any mentions of James, John, Peter, Judas, Simon, etc. and sticks to his own machinations throughout the Book.

Jumu'ah Sohbet: 23 February 2024
This has been a tremendous family week of transitions. A transition to letting your Abbu return to his work commitments for our benefit, a transition to parting with Haqqiqa Madressa, and entering Qurtuba Online Islamic studies, Alhamdulillah we made it after a week! Hence, the delay of our Jumu'ah Sohbet, but here we go, Bismillah (with the name of Allah) ...
#1. Shaykh Nishaat compellingly pointed out that life fleetingly passes us humans by. What we see in the past, present and in the future is actually close and one. What happened in the past feels like it occurred recently.
However, those of us in the Sufi path (Sulook) are striving for a one-on-one relationship with Allah, where He says, "Call on Me by My beautiful names and I will respond." That is our reality in the present, now and the moment! We are seeking a closeness and oneness with our Rab (Lord).
#2. He then shared a beautiful analogy through the poetry of our Prophet Muhammad SAW, who said, "You must seek the gardens of Jannah wherever that you find them!" The Sahaba at the time queried what those are and where they are located? He SAW replied, "Wherever there are circles of Zikr dedicated to praising and glorifying Allah! These are the gardens of Jannah." He SAW went on explaining there are circles of light which Allah's Angels actually seek out and join. They are above whoever joins. They join in ever-expanding rows and levels, all the way until they reach the arsh (throne) of Allah.
This is the reality of these circles of Zikr as a circle of light and the unseen, which we don't necessarily see. The main reason is our nafs, which is our veil in this material world. As Sufis, what we are seeking is to break that relationship with our nafs so that we can have a one-on-one relationship with Allah now - in this life and in this form in the present.
#3. Shaykh Nishaat, the Pied Piper of our hearts, continued to describe that one of the ways we recognise Allah is through our connection to the heart. The stronger our connection to the heart is, the more Allah will show us. That is our unique and individual relationship with Allah. This is why we say when Saints names are mentioned, may Allah bless their secret. We are each actually seeking a one-on-one relationship with Allah!
#4. Next, we were enamoured by our spiritual mother, who had traveled to each of our shores. She was reflecting at one point that in a London based art therapy session, it accurately came out that she was feeling scattered but held very strongly by love! Yes, by our love as mureeds and muhibs (both varying types of seekers of our spiritual school).
In her journey to our shores, we laughed, we cried, and we talked about Allah! She added that in our Sufi path, our spiritual hearts' eyes have added value to our lives and the way we see things. We are here in this world to become what Allah wants us to be, insan'e kamil (a perfected being)!
#5. What I loved about her presence was that not once did she leave out our focus on Allah. Her leadership acumen was undeniable! Even while she was ill with COVID on her journey, where her Ivermectin acquired from our beloved Gaby of Germany cured my mysterious cough within a few hours too, Shukran Ya Allah (Divine gratitude) for both Anne's generosity and for an inevitable cure! She was often encountering a vacant space along the way, subsequently feeling Shaykh Taner's spiritual presence.
She powerfully proclaimed, "Pay attention to what you are appreciating in life and what you are thankful for, because these are the moments that we are feeling closer to Allah and our job is to make sure that we don't keep that on us, but we transfer this to Allah."
In conclusion, insha'Allah in our way ahead we always transfer our experience of good to Allah. Additionally, we pray for Allah’s ability to craft goodness in all our affairs:

more dq11 changes that i think would make claws more useful for Rab and also make him a slightly better attacker in general:
at the top of his skill tree, increase the Strength skill from +5 to +10
and once his Skill Tree is expanded in Act 2, merge the two Crit Chance +2% skills together to be a single +4%, and change the bottom skill to Attack Power +10
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this would give him a total of +15 attack from his skill tree, combined with my proposed overall 1.1x buff to Claws' attack power .. it would mainly help in Act 2 i think.. one of Rab's biggest problems with claws is just his attack power being so low combined with multihit moves that deal low damage per hit, because it causes his attacks to deal almost no damage to enemies with high defence stats.. the attack power changes wouldnt be very significant at level 99, but itd be more noticeable in Act 2 at lower levels
i'd also rework Air Raiser to have a less convoluted damage formula and just deal fixed strength-based Wind element damage (like the characters strength stat x1.3... so for example, if you have 150 strength, then it'll deal around 195 wind element damage to a single target).
another thing id love to change is decreasing the levels when Rab learns most of his spells ..
Tumblr media
id make it so that he instead learns Insulatle at 38, Kacrack at level 41 (three levels sooner), and Kazam at level 43 (nine levels sooner)..
my main reasoning for Kacrack and especially Kazam being learned sooner is because you can learn Kacrackle or Kazammle from his Skill Tree as early as level 46 if you go straight to them.. the Zam line is already a kinda mediocre spell line, so allowing him much earlier access to Kazam is reasonable i think.. itd also give him a good niche in the Gyldenhaal, as a lot of the enemies there are weak to dark, along with Gyldygga, where your party levels may be around the early 40s. so he'd have a neat offensive niche during a specific part of the game with Kazam

Ghatkari matwari ghir aai
Aithon ud ja bholeya
Aa mil baithe zara
Menoon sutiyan neend na aye
Supne wich mahi aya
Tere bina balam
Mil ke bichhad na jaana
Jane bhi do ae jaane jahan
Rut ayi bahaar ki
O jane wale mohabbat ka
Sun le tu meri iltaja
Main gaon ki gori karke ayi hoon sola singaar
O bhoolne wale is dil se teri yaad
Rain bahi palkon par deep jalaoon
Khelo ji khelo babuji
Aaja bedardi raja
Sun le tu meri ilteja
Kabhi le chal tu jamuna ke paar
Chal man ke panchhi des begaane
Khudaya teri hai yeh kaisi hai khudai
Dekha karo bhagwan
Main tangewala
Raatein na rahi
Woh din yaad karo
Tere daras di pyasi
Ae do jahan waley
Kaho kaho mere sarkaar
Subah hui aur panchhi jaage
Apnon se shikayat hai na gairon se gila
Tu amiron ka khuda hai toh
Ujdi hui duniya ko meri phir basa de
Kaliyon ko masalne aaye hain
Is dil ko tune duniya se begana kar diya
Aave chan ve nehar de kandey
Na main kisi ki na koi mera
Ye kya sun rahi hoon ke
O harjayi balmaa
Guzarti hai jo haye kaise
Lo phir yaad kisi ki aayi
Tum chhod gaye mujhko piya
Aao saathi aao
Ye duniya garibon ko
Bas ik nikaah mein fitne jagaa
Apne na ho sake jo dil ka karar
Aaja ri nindiya pyari aaja
Jaiye gairon ke dil ka aasra ho jaiye
Gaa meri maina gaa
Ae duniya taan khush hondi
Jeevan saathi mil jaye toh
Ae kafile wale
Is dil ko tune duniya se
Ab toote huwe dil mein
Patthar ka mila takiya
Uthi hain ghatayein chali hain hawayein
Panchhi meri khushi ka
Arzi suno prabhu meri
Chupke chupke se dil mein aa basey
Wo hamein tadpa rahe hain
Sajan aa ja rajan aa ja
Ab kahan jaoon
Duniyawalon nadaron ki madat karo
Fariyad suno meri
Ye kiske dard ne yun dil ko beqarar kiya
Baanke nainaan waaleya
Sune kaun mujhse zubani meri
Apni roothi hui kismat ko mana lun
Aa bade saba kuch tune suna
Pade ishq mein
Kyun hans rahi hai duniya
Mere dil ki duniya se jao toh janoon
Ae dil e beqarar jhoom
Guzarti hai jo haye kaise
Salam-e-mohabbat ka matlab bata do
Mohabbat mein teri ae bewafa
Hasrat nahin jeene ki 2
Unki yaad bhula doon
Duniya ki yeh khushi hai tujhe

Barso re
Armaan kuch toh dil mein
More balapan ke saathi
" (version 2)
Ab raja bhaye more balam
Tera anokha singaar ri
Suno suno mora man much bole
Jaag jaag jaag jaag
Savan ki ghatawo
Ghata ghan ghor ghor
Dil ki dhadkan bana liya unko
Bansiwale shyam
Naina re dekh unke nain
Mujhe shikwa nahin
Jhoom raha hai mera man
Nindiya jhulawe meri munni ko
Mori atariya hai sooni
Panchhi bawra
Main chand hoon ya chandni
Madhuban mein radha jhule
Duniya pyari pyari hai
Ghir ghir ghan me ghor
More angna mein ambuva ki
Bina taake na maaro more raaja
Bheegoyi mori saree re
Mera dil jhoom raha
Hamari gali aana
Ye thandi hawaayen sandesh sunayen
Aao gori aao shyama
Chhai kali ghata more balam
Hari ke gun gaoon main
Pachtayenge woh
Koyaliya kahe bole ri
Ambuwaa pe koyal bole
Jiske milne ki tamanna thi
Ulfat ke fasane, bachpan ke zamane
Jholi bhar taare la de
Baanke saiyaan ne baiyaan marod dali
Pati charanon gun gaoon
Kit jaoon re mana
Aai diwali deepon wali
Piyaji aan milo
Ae chand nazar na lagana
Pehle jo mohabbat se
Badariya baras gayi us paar
Jaa ri badariya tu ja saajan ka sandesha la
O girdhari chhed muraliya pyari
Pehle jo mohabbat se inkar kiya
Mohabbat mein sara jahan
Tere liye laai hoon sandesa
Asha sukh ke khel khilaye
Kahani ban gayi mori
Pagli man tu ro ro kise sunaye
Main Hari Main hari
Jalaa patang toh isme qusoor kiska hai
Thokaren khayin mohabbat mein pareshaani hui
Mera chand salona
Le lo bele ke haar
Jo humpe guzarti hai
O rasiya
Bhoolne wale, ye dil kahan le jaun
Kabhi yaad ansoo ban ke
Dil lagane mein kuch mazaa hi nahi
Nadi kinare sanjh sakare
Gauve charaake baanke bihaari
Aaj mere ghar mehmaan aye
Bulbul aa tu bhi gaa
Ae dil kahan le jaoon
Meri vinti suno bhagwan
Dilo aah bhar aisi ke
Nainon se naina milake
Ban mein kali koyal boli
Thi mujhse aaj tak yeh
Wo din ab na rahe
Main baagh ki sundar titli
Aaj mohe sajan ghar jana
Yeh dard mohabbat hai
Armaan kuch toh dil mein
Itna bhi na woh samjha ke gaye
Doodh piyo sab doodh piyo
Aankhon ka khel khel ke
Tere liye lai hoon sandesha
Mere dil ki suno pukar
Jawani mein aake duniya
Toot gayi dali
Tum ho sajani meri tamanna
Woh hamein bulayen - Shadi
Prem nagar ki aur chale hai
Ab kahan basera apna
Jis jogi ka jog liya
Dil jalaa ke bujha li jawani
Suno suno hey nar nari
Jo mera sapna sach ho jaye
Ghir ghir aayi badariya
Naache hai man mauj magan mein
Duniya char dinon ka mela
Achha nahin bhagwan garibon ko
Main prem baag ki panchhi
Taqdeer mein likha
Dukhia jiya re
Udaas sham ki aahen
Phool le lo phool
Bhanwara rasiya re man basiya

Nirmohi sajan aja aja
Jiya leher leher lehraye
Ae ri main toh prem diwani
Pyar ki nazron ne chheda hai jise
Main teri hun tu mera hai
Dil mera tera diwana
Beqarara kar gaya haye dil shikaar kar gaya
Dil deke bahut pachhtaye
Ja ri ja ja nindiya
Ae zamane bataa do dilon ki khata
Aaye ji aaye
Main ghata tu pawan
Agar teri aankhon se aankhen mila doon
Aaj hum tumhe sunane wale hain
Achha unhe dekha tha
O chunnu o munnu o tinnu
Jaon jao aa gaya bulaava
Dekho chanda se
Kahe ulajh gaye nainwa
Aawaaz de raha hai
Pyaar ki rut do rangi saajan
Kahe ulajh gaye nainwa
Mere mahi mere balam
Hoke bada mera lal
Saj dhaj ke jaye gori piya ki nagariya
Jao ji jao re - Jagoo
Woh aye hain dil ko
Meethi meethi loriyan
Tera mera janam ka hai saath re
"
Chamak raha taare
Achhha unhe dekha, dil ke huwe do tukde
Raat hai kuchh aisi
Dilwaale teri mehfil mein
Kyun dil pe rakha haath hai
Mujhe fariyaad karne do mujhe aansoo bahaane do
Tera jag sata raha hai
Mohabbat haath baandhe khari
Na jao dil ko tod ke
Jab se maine dil lagaya
Ae jazbaa e dil khamoshi ki zubaan
Peepal ki chhaon tale humse milne aana sanam
Yeh hi hai duniya teri bhagwan
Mere dilbar meri jani
Mera pyar bhara dil thukra ke
Nazrein milake piya dhoka
Dekho dekho dilwaalon
Raat dhali, taare thake
Sab shikwe mite dil ke
Chamak rahe taare
Aawo kabhi milne ko meri gali balma
Ab toh aa jao
Hafiz khuda tumhara - Naqabposh
Jab se main ne
Tum ko pal bhar
Din hai suhane mastane
Ae mere mehboob maangle jo tujhko
Tumhe mera bankar dikhana hoga
Yoon hi man mein yaad kiya
Sab shikwe mite dil ke aapas mein
Chaand mein dekhun apna mukhda
Mera pyar bhara dil thukra ke
Hanso na baharon tumhe kya pata
Chupke chupke koi mere sapnon mein
Theher zara o janewale
Kehne ko bahut kuchh kehna
Meri achhi bhabhi ne
Hafiz khuda tumhara
Nazrein mila kar
Pyar ki nazron ne chheda hai
Sone ki lanka mein thumak thumak
Katar dale hai
Ummeedon ki duniya ujdi
Is jurm se ab
Tumko hi dhundte rahe

Kya Geet Mere Manka Hai Gaya Bahar Ne-
Jahan Koi Na Ho Wahan Chalein Ge Hum

Ab Too Hi Bata Tera Hi Dil Kisko Pukare
Jo Bigad Gayi Wo Qismat Hoon
O Balam O Rasiya'Mein Teri Tu Mera Re
Kiyun Pareshan Huey,Hum Ne Dekha Jo Tumhein
Apnen Piya Ki Main Jogan Banungi

BeSimply...Shift. Renew. Honor {New Moon. Sol+Luna Cycle 5} from OmToro Media on Vimeo.
“Even After All this time The Sun never says to the Earth,
"You owe me."
Look What happens With a love like that, It lights the whole sky.”
― Hafiz
Every lunar cycle the "moon" reflects light and shadow. We have reached the New Moon in a month currently identified as June in the 5th Lunar Cycle (in coordination with Tibetan tradition).
Summer and Winter in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres are rising as we have a full energetic shift. For many parts of the Northern Hemisphere the vibrant colors of nature are still blooming. Perpetual Spring. As inspired, take a pause for the reminder of this day into tomorrow. Give yourself the space to BE and Listen for where you are ready to shed and create space for this next lunar cycle. The New Moon and the season of Summer/Winter invite you to feel into your fire and sacred waters. You inner life force and creative energies...honoring both with great care and sacredness. In addition, the cosmic and earth plane welcome you to shift, renew and honor yourself. I welcome you to use your heart as your compass and continue to purify your sacred waters with your sacred fire. Finding balance and harmony from within.
As our brother’s and sisters in the Southern Hemisphere are deepen their relation in what it means to jump into natures ice bath their kidneys (fear) invite them to anchor in deep knowing and fearlessness. Simultaneously, reorienting their creative energy to be utilized in a new way. In addition, our Brother’s and Sister’s in the Northern Hemisphere are start to nourish heart (small intestines) and open the heart to JOY. Finding the perfect stream of fun. No matter where you are on this earth…it will be necessary to SHIFT, renew and HONOR yourself. Continue to listen, observe and plant your seeds with an engaged imagination calibrated with your wisdom.
As a gentle reminder, contemplate your humanity and your inner gifts are destined to serve others.
“Peace can be reached through meditation on the knowledge which dreams give. Peace can also be reached through concentration upon that which is dearest to the heart.” Patanjali
