— finished a watercolor project

— started and finished a flower collage piece

— downloaded some upcoming reads

— went on a run + yoga

— practiced piano

— finished Anne Carson’s Antigone translation

Dark academia season is upon us and I couldn't be more thrilled.

So if the the goddamn weather could just cool off for one goddamn second so I can wear my cozy sweaters that would be fucking great

I shouldn't be this angry but all I really want is to curl up on my old sofa with a cat and hot coffee underneath a lap blanket and crochet hats for winter while watching a horror movie on a chilly rainy October day and the damn sun keeps ruining both my vibes and my plans

Give me my chilly spooky season, I beg of you

day 42 // 100dop

one day. just *one* day of bad sleep and suddenly i struggle to function. (and then it tends to start a cycle because when things go wrong - and more things than usual do when i'm sleepy, it triggers anxiety and then the anxiety keeps me from sleeping well that night 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️)

uuuuggggghhhhhh. 😑

🧘‍♀️ it will get better. it will get better. i will not let myself slip back into the old habits of past semesters. 😤

anyway, here's what went on today:

went to tutorial and finished the worksheet with my group (then i realized we got some things wrong AFTER the fact and fixed it and it took way too long imo and somehow the pressure to not get things wrong feels a lot higher in these situations...)

started assignment (2 parts to it left, one of which is one a chapter section i haven't covered yet)

finished 1/4 remaining sections of the chem chapter (i was supposed to finish all 4 today bc all in all those 4 sections ~= the amount of content i covered yesterday 😑)

hoping to finish all that's left for chem this week tmr except the quiz (which i'll have to do on friday cuz that's when it opens), so i can have a free weekend and a relatively free friday to spend on 100 days of code. idk if this is actually realistic or not but we shall see... 🙈

oh oh and my browser kept crashing today, that was annoying. i attribute it to laggy adobe acrobat + online version of ms word. 😒

The dead of summer brought the light dredge of rain that glossed the streets with puddles. But just a couple hours later, the sun was back ablaze, beaming viscerally in a battle with the gray clouds. The gray clouds, which were desperately urging to take away the joys of summer. They would continue like that, a back and forth. A lovers' quarrel to no avail.

She wished for the rain to stop its storms. A clear sky was all she hoped for. A summer defined by the tans on her skin and the ice cream truck that excites everyone daily. Picnics on the warm grass and day outs at the pool. The aroma of flowers in bloom, decorating the grounds in vibrant patches.

Not downpour after downpour. Not this summer rain.

elementary school memories that give me raincore + schoolcore vibes/inspire me

- funbrain on windows 98 in the elementary school computer lab before 10 am

- having to sit in the auditorium all morning because of rain

- basking in the deep blue skies and sprinkling raindrops as you walk to school with your umbrella

- the sound of rain pattering on your umbrella as you walk

- rainy morning assemblies

- the smell of new plastic, cold dewy air and scotch tape

- the soft, forgiving, lonely nature of the school playground on rainy days when nobody is playing

- the teacher opening the door/window for a second and light raindrops flying onto you (our classrooms were outside)
