Random thought,

Since mc turned in to a sheep (seriously a sheep?) When mc entered the devildom...

Does that mean that If the brothers or the dateables (except Sol ofc) were to enter the human realm they'd also turned into an animal? Maybe a dog? Cat? Or a flipping goat? (Yeah a goat... Mc is sheep, they should be random too)

Thinking about how Astarion constantly blames Cazador for taking things away (the eye color he forgot, the reflection he doesn't have, for turning him into a vampire) but it's like... it was his own choice to become a spawn. He makes it out to be as if he was given no choice - not true. Vampire lore is known in Baldur's Gate and I will assume here (and build on this) that it was known 200 years ago as well. With that logic - Astarion knew perfectly well what becoming a vampire will entail if not what will being a spawn to a vampire lord will.

So no, Cazador didn't take things from Astarion, he gave them up willingly for immortality and then didn't like that Cazador didn't pamper him like a spoiled brat. Vampires are evil aligned in dnd, it's a fact, Astarion must've known that it's not going to be wine and roses if he signs up and yet he still did. What that says about who he was before becoming a spawn? Quite a bit but that's not what I'm talking about here.

Point is - Astarion rarely takes any accountability for being a vampire, for choosing to be a vampire and blames everyone and everything for his own choices. Cazador didn't take away things, Astarion surrendered them. How Astarion is presented to Tav is through a very human lens and that's why he succeeds making people hate Cazador. But I have been fan of vampires since I was a little kid, my perspective is simply this - he is pathetic as a spawn, he rebels after he doesn't like what he himself signed up for and when he gets punished for it he again blames Cazador for doing what a vampire lord just... simply does - manages his spawn to keep them in toe. Yes, Cazador is awful even by vampiric standards but it just shows that he's not a great leader of his coven lol. Maybe he's only this much sadistic because he has no other way to control the spawn. But I digress.

My point is - whole sob story Astarion presents and that so many fans eat right out of his palm is him refusing to take accountability for his own choices. And that's why ascension is something he desires and will achieve if not talked out of by Tav (with a dice roll when helping him right away requires none of that iirc). He wants power and he wants freedom and again, by vampire standards he's just getting what every vampire desires, there's no amorality involved because morals are already shady at best for vampires as a whole. The whole discourse about Astarion ascending or not literally only comes from human houlier-than-thou attitudes and ignoring that yes, Astarion is an awful person from the very beginning. I mean who attacks you with a fucking knife when you have your back turned? Even Lae'zel faces you upfront. Who attacks you in the night for blood instead of talking? His excuse is lame too "oh you would've staked me" and finding him bent over tav's sleeping form with horrible intentions would not lead to that? You even have an option to stake him several times during the whole scene. He's deceptive, manipulative and he will weasel and lie in every interaction to protect himself. He's not your little meow meow or whatever, he's a vampire. And Astarion himself says that he would trust a devil over a vampire any day.

So all the girlies who think Astarion is this cuddly prince that suddenly becomes a monster the moment he's allowed to become who he always was meant to be just get a reality check. He isn't changed, he's just showing his true colors and finally coming into power that he craved for so long (not ascension per se, just power in general and ascension gives him ultimate power). Does he deserve it - that's another matter. But he craves it and needs it. To quote Astarion himself: "Because those with power can do whatever the Hells they want."

And he's right.

so before I read chainsaw man, I knew next to nothing about it, I wasn't really a manga reader in general to be honest but I started getting into it because I wanted to get caught up with jujutsu kaisen after finishing the anime. when I did, I really enjoyed jjk, I wanted to read more manga and a friend suggested I read chainsaw man because it's similar. I was like okay... a lot of people are into it... it looks cool... why not.

and when I started reading and I got to that third chapter and I saw aki... I literally said to myself: yeah, he is going to be my favorite. because he's exactly my type — the suit, the hair tied up so it's long and pretty when he takes it down, the SMOKING??? THE PIERCINGS????? I thought his hair was silly but adorable, his personality was stern but quirky and likable, his kon power was so cool. he was just so cute and hot and definitely my type of character.

but really, even though aki was always my favorite character from the start, my obsession truly began when I finished the manga. aki's arc is just so good... I fell in love with him the whole way through but especially after the manga was over... I loved watching him grow as a character, he just feels so real and relatable personality wise and story wise. he's immensely flawed but kindhearted to his core. he's so human. I love how he's emotional and soft and the conclusion to his arc is genuinely my favorite thing in any piece of media ever, it's so bittersweet and compelling. (and I'm a mess for that bittersweet shit okay)

anyway after I read chainsaw man for the first time I was feeling a mix of emotions between "wow that was the greatest thing ever" and "what the fuck did I just read" but more than anything I yearned for more aki, and so I read it a second time almost immediately after, and then the aki brain infection just grew worse and worse.... was screenshotting every panel of him... I read it a third time... a fourth time in the colored version to collect more panels......... I started my blog over a year ago to post fanfic and rant about aki and the rest is history

Between the sleep apnea and the celiac it's unsettling to think that I've been so unable to digest food I was riddled with vitamin deficiencies and unknowingly incapable of deep and restful sleep for...years? I started having celiac symptoms ~13 years ago and have no idea when the apnea began but would not be surprised if it was in college. What if other people actually aren't doing all the same workarounds I've created to appear like a functional adult, and they have in fact been more functional than me this entire time due to Correctly Sleeping and Digesting Things? Like, I knew all along that my joints were worse than average and other people weren't in (as much) pain all the time, and probably that that much diarrhea was unusual, but I definitely thought everyone was tired. And also that I wasn't that tired. Somehow.

There are two responses - in my personal lore and just.. common sense. In lore, her name is very important to her, as it signifies her heritage that she is so proud of, so she gets annoyed when you refer to her as something other than what she introduced herself as (admittedly, that is annoying.)

She says it as A-lee-sa-nee-ra, with the nickname being Nee-ra! But when I say her name, she's A-lee-sa-nay-ruh, which is more common sense in English I feel like, plus gives a nice little demutive in Serbian (Najrica (Nay-ritsa), where she sounds like a racing car. It's so cute)

Either way, the emphasis is on the last part of the name, hence the nickname, even though her parents do call her Alyssa sometimes. You're not wrong - you can't be wrong, so don't worry about that. I don't expect people to follow my lore on the matter, since I literally made it up. All this pedantic shit is my language interest, lore, and frustration that certain people irl can't say my surname right bc it doesn't follow regular Serbian naming conventions.

Still, ty for the chance to ramble a bit about this point which is so minor yet so important to me. And her, but that goes without saying. <3

sometimes i think about how like. idk the heroes of olympus series doesn't glorifying the neglectful gods and just really shows how parental neglecting can genuinely hurt children and like. over time, the gods are starting to be held accountable like... idk it just warms my heart that they ended up making more cabins and got more gods to claim their kids and didn't just shove all the "rejects" into one cabin with the hermes kids...

idk i was listening to "their sign" this morning and the part where luke says "you know what that means - we're literally the reject cabin, welcome to the dysfunctional family" and just. got kind of overwhelmed with emotions because like... they managed to make a change and fix that... ough

So at 6:00 in the morning I had the idea that the entire (not entire that would be a stretch) fandom* should re write arc 3 to something that wasn't so so terrible. I'm being blunt here it was terrible first time reading you won't notice all the flaws second time you will notice every and I mean EVERY flaw and messed up character development and treatment.
