For Clarke, yeah but I know we'd argue a lot 🙄 girlie is that friend who comes to you for advice but takes None Of It. And as a virgo that shit drives me nuts. For Lexa... ehhhhh. Realistically? Probably not. Nit because I wouldn't want to. I would. But idk if she'd like my loudmouth ass self. And with overly serious people I tend to make a mission to make them laugh, and just don't know if that's her vibe. I think she'd get sick of my shit quick 😅

Lostia for Lexa. I would've loved to know more about her relationship with Costia (altho highkey would've made me jealous on Clarke's behalf. Ride or die ya know)

I didn't mind Niylah with Clarke. There wasn't a passionate love there, but there was solace and comfort, and if Clarke couldn't have Lexa then I think something like what Niylah had to offer was a good second best. It was good for her emotionally to have someone who would just accept all the broken pieces of Clarke and not try to fix her to her own liking, or be jealous of the fact that she would never be The One for her.

Raven with Anya. That would've been... mmmm. It should've been. I'm not even a huge Ranya shipper, but they deserved time together. Their mutual zero bullshit tolerance? 🔥

Junior Eurovision 2023 detailed opinions before the show. Part 1

Well, as I told you in my previous post where I made my tier-ranking for this year's Junior Eurovision, I will now make a new explanation about my opinion of each song by tier! As my second live-watch JESC, I'm very hyped to see how this year goes since it's more of a ballad edition, I got more than one winner, and well the live decides it all!

Let's start from the lowest to the highest tier!

Tier 5: "I heard better ones in previous years"

🇮🇹 Melissa and Ranya "Un Mondo Giusto"

First of all, I will clarify I don't have any beef with this or other song in low places. I'm more open in JESC, I support the kiddos, and also, the songs are at least decent compared to some songs of the adult edition I really hate or just bore me. But since there are a lot of entries I like from this year, the first one really didn't catch me too much compared to others.

For being their first song in JESC, Melissa and Ranya sing so good in a duo. The raspy voice of Melissa caught me off-guard with the soft singing of Ranya. And somehow, the combination goes well for the song, apart of the main melody and the Italian talent. But for being a ballad between others this year, it doesn't surprise me too much. Like Albania last year with "Pakez Diell". And I regret right now saying Chanel Dilecta's "Bla Bla Bla" was the downgrade of the downgrades after Elisabetta Lizza's "Specchio" in 2021; at least Chanel's song would have been more than welcome in the train of ballads of this year.

I really hope the live version in Nice boosts them a lot. Because they have potential nevertheless. They are nice girls! :D

🇬🇪 Anastasia and Ranina (still Oto and Nikoloz for me) "Over the Sky"

I had better hopes for the Georgian trio this year. Like, it was a surprise for me when GPB decided to call two Ranina finalists, Oto Bazerashvili and Nikoloz Kharati, to join Anastasia Vasadze (Ranina 2023 winner and direct representant of Georgia in JESC 2023) for this edition. And well, a trio already won the Junior contest in 2008 and Ranina always delivers potential winners, so surely they would have a song to get their fourth victory, right?

First with the good things, the song itself is good. Calm and more serene, but good. And the trio really works here, even the boys have their moment to shine! (considering they decided to make Anastasia the main singer and call the male duo "Ranina", something that still bugs me). The music has good potential. And the lyrics inspire me, even the "Ranina, hey!" chant. But with the downsides, not the best song I expected for them after hearing a masterpiece like Mariam Bigvava's "I Believe" last year (and other songs from Georgia in previous editions). Not bad, but softer in vibes than 2022.

Hearing the rumours of two expert ballet dancers joining them for the live version, I think a good staging can deliver this song to a well-placed position still (and if possible, maybe win?). Just to wait.

Tier 4: "Unlikely but potential Top 5/Winners(?)"

🇦🇱 Viola Gjyzeli "Bota Ime"

To think I had this one at the bottom of my list before the revamp. As someone who listened (at work) the Junior Fest 2023, I thought "no way, they gonna choose another Pakez Diell again" due to most songs (and the contest itself) being soft; and "Bota Ime" 's first version didn't surprise me when it won. But when I thought it would be in the lowest place for the list, the revamped version came in the YT channel of JESC and my gosh, what a glow up!

It's still not, as a popular TV phrase in Mexico says, "Que bruto, pero que temazo!" ("What a bop!"). But the studio version gave the song the strength it needed a lot. Viola's voice sounds so whimsical and with class. The entry is way less plain than Pakez Diell at least. And as for the lyrics (the same one that wrote Duje made this? WOAH), if the studio video made them have sense, I wonder how will the live deliver that "own fairyland" feeling I appreciate of the song.

I really hope they keep the vibes and world-setting for the live version. To see them ruining it would be devastating for this song.

🇬🇧 Stand Uniqu3 "Back To Life"

After Freya Skye's SLAY (even if sick bc of cold night ceremony, darn you, EBU) in Yerevan with "Lose My Head", I knew United Kingdom wouldn't play easy. Sure, Mae Muller's "I Wrote A Song" placed at the last places in Liverpool (something I won't forgive alongside LOTL's unfair last place and "Solo" at the grand final >:U), but in JESC they would still give fiery competition! And we have "Back To Life"

A group in Junior Eurovision is always welcome in my list. And Maisie, Yazmin and Hayla (the girls) really got some good vocals and energy for their song! Sure, not too great compared to Freya's entry and queen vibes, but the song itself is awesome (and necessary given the time, when a lot of ballads were revealed)! They remind me a lot of Fifth Harmony imo, maybe by vocals or the entire energy they give in the song.

If the staging and live version can upgrade their entry to a new level than it is already, maybe United Kingdom can get some justice for what they did to Mae and get a good placing!

🇫🇷 Zoé Clauzure "Cœur"

As always, I expect for the host/winning country in a Junior edition to have a good "defender entry", a song that shows the world they're not playing safe just because they won once and/or host the contest. France did it with Enzo's "Tic Tac" (even if the Discord fandom despises him fsr), Armenia with Nare's "Dance!" (and they really ALMOST WON TWICE A ROW like Poland in 2018-2019). And I had my hopes high for France (again XD) after Lissandro's win

For being a French JESC song not written by legend (and idol for some of my mutuals) Barbara Pravi, this one takes the cake for being as French as possible (in a good way) and still be likeable for every audience! Zoe's vocals sound SO CLASSY for someone so young, and the song itself could easily be confused for an adult Eurovision entry (with some tweaks). And yeah, the entry reminds me A LOT of La Zarra's "Évidemment" (another Big 5 robbed entry this year, no wonder she gave everyone the finger and left the Green Room before the end of the votes). Not of my 100% favorites or a song I see winning JESC 2023, but I still love it.

At this point I wonder if they will pull a "Paris/France reference" in the live staging (like La Zarra did this year, queen), because the song itself is so wonderful it screams good live version!

I HAVE NOT BUT I SHOULD. you know what. i'm gonna listen to them in the bus and you'll get my live opinion on them:

-Albania (Bota ime - Viola Gjyzeli): Love the harmonies! It really sounds like an esc Albanian song huh. Very epic and such.

-Armenia (Do it my way - Yan Girls): OH LOVE THE VIBES FOR THIS ONE!!! GIRLBAND GOODNESS !!! Also I love they still sing in Armenian even if there's bits of English there :) I am sure it has a sick choreography but alass i'm hearing them on spotify

-Estonia (Hoiame Kokku - ARHANNA): ooooh this one sounds so powerful!!! Love the chorus with the two voices! It's definitely a serious topic, sounds like it has a strong message

-France (Cœur - Zoé Clauzure): I am sadly not inmune to french singing. It just sounds too good I have no option but to stan 😔. Oh that little 'ay ay ay' in the chorus is so familiar to me but I couldn't tell you why. The high notes !!!!

-Georgia (Over The Sky - Anastasia & Ranina): I was sad the song started in English but now they're singing in Georgian which :) THE HARMONIES !!!!! THE LITTLE SCREAMING PARTS !!!!!

-Germany (Ohne worte - Fia): Uuu I really like her voice. It sounds kinda school? I don't know how to explain it. Not much else to say tho, the song is fairly simple. Not that it's a bad thing tho.

-Ireland (Aisling - Jessica McKean): Is that Irish I'm hearing ????? If it is big slay from Ireland in jesc exactly !!! If it's not I'm so sorry I cannot understand anything </3 Nevertheless, love her voice and how whispery it is!

-Italy (Un mondo giusto - Melissa, Ranya): OHHH THAT RASPY VOICE ONE OF THEM HAS !!!! INSANE !!!! It's sounds so epic !!! Why do they sing parts in English tho :( The chorus is insane !!!

-Malta (Stronger - Yulan): This one also sounds pretty epic, I can see this one playing in the radios. Love the voice as well. That last part !!!! And the highs !!!

-Netherlands (Holding on To You - Sep & Jasmijn): Love to hear Dutch! It sounds so good in song !!! Uuuu love the vibes with this one honestly!!! THE BEAT OH MY GOD IT'S SUCH A BOP

-North Macedonia (Kazi Mi, Kazi Mi Koj - Tamara Grujeska): We love a Balkan ballad exactly !!!! She has such a beautiful voice! Quick question is it a requirement for a percentage of the song to be in English??? Cause tons are mixing English in there and I cannot say I love it. Anyways. Classic Balkan ballad with folk elements, what's not to love honestly.

-Poland (I Just Need a Friend - Maja Krzyzewska): wait why is this one so depressing ??? a very pretty voice tho. it's just very :( the bridge is cute

-Portugal (Where I belong - Júlia Machado): her voice singing in portuguese is quite possibly the cutest thing i've ever heard omg 😭 too much English tho :( once again her portuguese is sooooo

-Spain (Loviu - Sandra Valero): okay polyglot queen I see you !! These lyrics are so cute actually 🤧 in general the song is so cute!!! You were not wrong this song is actually good :)

- Ukraine (Kvitka - Anastasia Dymyd): ooooh I do love me an ethnic song yesss!!! Love the beat for this one! THE SCREAM!!!

-UK (Back to life - STAND UNIQU3): This one is also super radio friendly. And is this another girlband??? Cause if then massive slay for them! The tune is catchy enough

On the more girlish & innocent side of the unit's image are Rai Kobayashi, Nova Tahkizaad, & Myst Bardot. Sub-Leader Rune Sibera tries to make sure each girl has a chance to be center: tech-loving Alice centers Q&A, Ranya Kamau co-centers What is Love?, Alala Koteas co-centers Oh! and Kanna Tamemi co-centers Ah-Choo.

The six members are broken into pairs of dance partners; though there's some consideration given to seniority, there is no leader. Balancing it out are trained dancers Yoshimi Negiwa and Micah Rhee. As she sees it, you can learn dance but you can't learn stamina and lung capacity.

An edgy unit with a theater theme and symphonic sound. They do their performances in dramatic costumes with a dramatic sound. Their concerts follow a plot, more like a musical, heavily utilizing story lines that are usually narrated by Rangi Vale in the role of Death, one of several resident weirdos. Their stories often have more villains or morally gray roles since Daisey Kurr, Hermes, and Flora Tahkizaad are known to argue over them. In their current play, Aisling plays the determined protagonist, Pancha Espinosa her unfortunate prince, and S'hahar Silverplume the double-crossing dragon; the other roles are the Evil Queen (Daisey), her daughter (Flora), and the Evil Witch (Hermes).

They network with other units to bring their stage-plays to life with more performers: Black Curtain is their backing band and members of MY COLOR*GLITTERING STORIES (which Pancha mentors) are brought in as ensemble members.

Known for their quirky members like Kugumi Isotake, who doesn't want to be here, shadow-Leader Mana Kaiuwaihui's lack of solos (and any voice lines??), story-writer Ume Kuromori who can never remember her lines, tokusatsu-loving Kit Smith who approaches her roles with a little too much enthusiasm, and local clown Tamon Little who's accidentally clocked Kugumi at least three time in dance practice, and twice on stage .

They follow a seniority system making Cassiel Sear their leader; she prioritizes friendship between members. The members are known for their gentle personalities (esp. Rim Baris), refined manners (esp. Heather Aveneill), soft voices (esp. Snow Lîm), and otherwise angelic or childish images (esp. Miyuki Ogawa). They're considered a little-sister unit of Periwinkles with whom they do joint practices.

An edgy rock band that sets their feelings to music. They often disagree but they're on the same page when it comes to the quality of their sound. Though they're not all as loud about it, each one is just as much a perfectionist as the other; due to a united dislike of authority there is no leader for better or worse. Pop-Punk lover Piper Sukkal'kira'na plays backing bass and provides the bulk of their vocals; song-writer & practiced guitarist Angel Rodriguez plays lead guitar and provides additional vocals; agressive rebel Rakko Kinaki works hard to impress as lead-bass; trained pianist & peace keeper Sagiso Snøherrsen provides keyboard and softer backing vocals; and the somewhat insane Clare Riis enjoyes tearing it up on the drums & laughing when the others argue.

A laid-back unit with an "open to anyone" policy and a "my pace" attitude. They focus on simple acoustic songs using whatever instrument looks fun in the moment. Known for their ability to invoke emotions especially joy, longing, and nostalgia. They like to invoke the image of a chill garden party with airy and gentle vibes. Leader Parker Corbell, prev. of Golden Rosetto, formed Ivy & Edelweiss to accomodate new members especially kids who didn't see themselves as musicians. With her on acoustic guitar and co-leader Clancy Delahaye's robust knowledge of imporvising rhythem on the open sea, they provide the instrumental groundwork that allows members Mara ki'Zemeur, Zofia by S.H., and Victor Gilani to learn at their own pace. The only ironclad rule is that everyone has take a turn singing, even if their too shy to do so normally. Like Pinkies, Ivy & Edelweiss fosters a sense of community among the members.

A soothing unit with a choir-like sound and simple dances. They focus on ballads and constellation themes. Known for their elegant ballet like dance moves (lyrical dance) and delicate harmonies. Each member is described as an individual constellation with an emphasis on showcasing their individual skills, storylines, and image colors. Leader Almondine Aeyasumear, prev. of Midnight Troupe, established the unit to accomodate new members with more elegant aesthetics and a desire to put on beautiful performances; she's represented by Corona Borealis, the Northern Crown. Lavi Ummnikkal (Leo, the lion) and Tien Janvier (Pyxis, the compass) joined to hone their talents; Center Eulalia Oudinet (Cygnus, the swan) embodies the unit's elegant aesthetic with her trained dance moves; and Aloque (Columba, the dove) and Ella Tsai (Argo Navis, the ship) bring their skills as a travelling singers and a ballroom dancer respectively. Pancha of Mightnight Troupe uses his years of choir training to help the group practice.

“Yeah, I just wanted to go home and sleep.” Lexa chuckled.

Clarke wanted to ask a question but she knew it wasn’t any of her business.

Lexa watched the clogs turn in Clarke’s eyes, she knew what she wanted to ask.

“Go on, ask.” Lexa smirked.

Clarke shook her head, “it’s fine, it’s none of my business.”

“Clarke, I wasn’t there for a fun vacation. My uncle was constantly on at me to do this, do that.” Lexa took a long sip of her drink before continuing, “I didn’t have time for women.”

Clarke didn’t know what to say to that, it was what wanted to know but it didn’t fully answer her question.

“You were there for a long time,” Clarke pointed out, Lexa stared at her waiting for her to continue but she didn’t, so she gave her the answer Clarke was unable to ask the question for.

Just having your body pressed against mine does a lot to me. either one of us holding one another. you speak my love language. that is so important to me. I don’t have to say or do much and you know what I want, exactly how I want, when I want. you pay attention to me. you know how to hit all my spots and fully satisfy me. you have me coming back for more and more. when your inside me you feel at home. in that moment we become one. we don’t just have sex. we don’t just fuck. you make love to me. you appreciate, love and cater to every single inch of my body. you take my body on a full journey. reached and touched spots that have been hidden and undiscovered. you explore my body every time we are intimate like it’s the very first time. you’ve tasted parts of me that I never thought were humanly possible. you make me feel so good, there’s no words to justify what you do to me. you cried for me today and it meant to much to me. I was so shocked I didn’t really know what to do or say other then to just hold you and let you know I ain’t going nowhere. although it had to come from and unfortunate situation for you to let me in and show me how much I mean to you, I’m kinda glad it happened. I know you love me. You show me in all the things you’ve sacrificed in the short time you’ve known me. but seeing you cry for me for once and not her was a whole new level of showing me. To me, your most beautiful when your vulnerable. This is because in that moment you trust me. In that moment you need me. Need to comfort you, reassure you, hold you and let you know I’m not going anywhere. It’s so rare that your vulnerable around me. you don’t express how you feel. you don’t let me know how I make you feel or why and what your feeling most of the time so it’s so nice when you finally do. Our love language is one of a kind and I never could imagine myself this happy this quickly . This was never supposed to happen but I’m glad it has. I wouldn’t change it for anything. You are my baby and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Ranya you are my whole heart. I want everything with you. You show me what real love is. What it feels like to be appreciated, loved and truest cared for. you show me what it feels like to be protected and looked after. you make me feel beautiful in my most trampiest ways. We could be in a room full of a million beautiful naked women and I know you’d only have eyes for me. we have a love so pure. You trust me and I know how hard that is for you. I appreciate all the efforts you make for me. I know I’m not the easiest and by far not perfect but I pray and hope that you don’t give up on me and this happiness we share can last us a lifetime x

“You are stupid Raven,” Anya sighed, she stood up from the bed and poured some fresh water from a clay jug in a small bowl and reached into her satchel that was attached to her belt. She pulled out some green leaves and some purple seeds.

“What have you got there?” Raven asked as she watched Anya crush them together and mixed them with the water creating some sort of paste.

Anya took her outside gear off and dropped it on the floor then grabbed the bowl of ingredients, she sat on the edge of the bed.

“I don’t know if it will help, but the purple flowers are good for the scent and then the green leaves are a medicinal plant, too much of it can make you…”

“High?” Raven offered and smirked when Anya looked at her amused.

“Yes, high is a good description.”

Anya scooped up the paste and rubbed it on Raven’s swollen knee. The carefulness with how Anya applied it was something Raven wouldn’t expect, Anya was gentle and rubbed carefully around the inflamed knee. The paste was cool and it was doing wonders for the throbbing pain.

“How does it feel now?” Anya was adding the last of the paste before rinsing her hands.

“Honestly, the coldness is helping,” Raven was surprised then looked at Anya, “Thank you, Anya.”
