I see your re-reading Ravenpath's Path. I recently read it for the first time myself. What ya think it so far?

I’ve just finished it, managed to fit the whole thing in one day. Slow start but really good character development for Barley and Violet and a very sweet ending. I liked it overall!

I know that he never accepted a name, but I think his name could be Ravenpath, because he chose his own life instead of having to suffer through what was clearly not enjoyable to him, yet he still holds up the belief that the life of a warrior is good and does not resent his friends, and still helps them!

How I feel about this character: He’s cute! I like his sweet dopey little demeanor, especially since he’s surrounded by. like a lot of Very Serious Women (see: dandelionpaw, kinktail, cold sun). I like how he effects them, making them-- I don’t know if relax, but cheer up a bit! I think he’s a good influence (if that’s the word for it? he’s two months old?) on those around them and that he, like the other kits, brightens up their world a bit and it’s really sweet to see. I’m excited to see how he’ll grow up!! All the people I ship romantically with this character: He and Hawk have potential as of right now!! but like Hawk, he is Just Baby so we shall see.  My non-romantic OTP for this character: how could you do this to me. how could you make me choose okay you Know I am thinking of dandelionpaw and kinktail. you know I am thinking of it. but I am so whipped for cold sun I will have to say her--  I like their dynamic!! I’m really glad that cold sun’s taken an interest in him, even though its started off as being only because he’s a summer cat, I feel like their friendship/possible mentorship (?) could grow into something much more meaningful. cold sun is, how you say, Lonely As Fuck and tied up in a lot of things in her past that seem to really weigh her down. having someone as new and bright as twilight being attached to her is really heartwarming and I like it. Especially with the loss of Ravenpath, I don’t necessarily mean that Twilight could REPLACE him because I doubt Cold Sun will ever stop hurting about that, but. Maybe he could help her heal a little bit. My unpopular opinion about this character: 

too baby!!! uhh. hope he doesn’t gain even one brain cell. we could use a himbo in these trying times  One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: not now because he’s Little, but I kind of look forward to him finding out that fogclan was kind of Very Fucked Up. I wonder how he’ll react to finding about Kinktail and Dandelionpaw’s pasts, and how that may change how he’ll interact with Fogclan cats. 002 | give me a character and i will tell you...

how i feel about this character: oh, miss nasty...aspen snow falls pretty perfectly into the type of character i often fall for; a troubled girl with a difficult life who does herself no favors by only seeming to make her own circumstances worse. she’s an absolute mess, and i just have to love her for that, even when she makes me want to pick her up by her little kitty cat scruff and shake some sense into her. she’s always been a star player in the tribe, and seeing her go from a bold young cat to one so cynical and jaded has been a really solid progression for her in my opinion. it’s not a happy one, but it makes sense that she’s ended up where she is currently when she truly sees the world as a force that just keeps knocking her back down time and time again. like i mentioned, i think she absolutely needs to have some sense knocked into her head, because while her life HAS been shitty, difficult, and troubled, there’s still plenty good in it. she has a hard time focusing on that, though, and a harder time really believing she can have good things, i feel. she’s convinced herself now that life will just keep being shitty, and she needs to get out of that mindset before it’s too late...right now she’s at her lowest low, and watching how she copes with that is super interesting, especially as some of her tough girl attitude starts to falter with the loss of perhaps the most important cat in her life. seeing her show slivers of remorse beneath all the bitterness and blame is really touching and shows that she’s not all bared teeth and snarls. underneath it, she’s still a young cat hurting, one who has never had a chance to fully come into herself and feel comfortable in the world.

all the characters i ship romantically with them: spark feather, duh. i’ve never really been able to see her with anyone else. maybe she’d drift to flaming wind in an attempt to distract herself from her deeper feelings, or maybe she’d have little flirtations here and there, but spark feather is the only cat i feel aspen snow is willing to let in enough to truly be a healthy romantic partner for her. or, well. he was. 

my non-romantic OTP for this character: i really do like aspen snow and flaming wind just as friends...they’re both struggling a lot with their own troubles, and though they cope in vastly different ways, it’s interesting to watch aspen snow’s anger rub off on flaming wind, and flaming wind’s attitude that leans toward shoving emotions down kind of take its own form in aspen snow. they both have a lot to work through, obviously, but i think they’re good for each other support wise.

my unpopular opinion about this character: this falls more under kind of something i wish had happened and less an unpopular opinion, but...i think it could have been interesting if she hadn’t rejected hawk and daisy so swiftly. i get why she did, and i think her being pissed is only realistic based on her character, but imagine an aspen snow who turned her anger directly against patched petal by trying to sway her siblings against the mother she’s come to blame for a lot of her inner feelings. it would create a really cool sort of morally gray dynamic, yknow, manipulating children and still behaving like a child all the same, still so wrapped up in her family’s grasp.

one thing i wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: it would be cool to see some aspen snow thoughts on ravenpath...we all know how she feels about flickerclaw, but does that stretch out to include ravenpath, too? is she just as pissed at him, or does she care less about a cat she’s not related to? she and ravenpath weren’t close like spark feather and ravenpath were, but they did grow up in the same generation, and seeing the aftermath of that relationship explored alongside the spark + raven and aspen + flicker dynamic would be cool!

my cross-clan ship: self indulgent, buuut snowclaw + aspen snow. it absolutely would never amount to anything, but snowclaw does canonically think she’s quite pretty...

a headcanon: for all of the calling off of her relationships aspen snow does, what she really wants is for one cat to truly challenge her about it. she tells everyone that things are over as a way of testing them, almost, seeing if they’re willing to fight back to try and keep her, because she feels unwanted and tossed aside beneath all of her harsh exterior traits. not to say being challenged wouldn’t piss her off. she’s aspen snow, of course she’d be mad...but. it would prove to her that whoever she’s decided to shove aside is willing to fight on her behalf, something she hasn’t felt any cat be willing to do since her brother left her behind.
