She didn’t rape him! She coerced him and lied to him to get him into bed with her! Who cares if he asked her to stop and she didn’t? Who cares about a power imbalance? Sure, after he was originally assaulted, he felt horrible and guilty and probably blamed himself (something pretty normal for a victim) and felt like he owed something to the woman who gave him his position, but that doesn’t matter! He was a man, so it was consensual!
For some reason him saying “stop” and trying to leave doesn’t translate into “stop pressuring me to have sex with you, I don’t want to” and somehow comes out as “sure, I’ll risk my life to have sex with you, even though I am clearly uncomfortable and don’t want to break my vows”
Victim blaming doesn’t become cool just because they are a male. If she is misleading him, lying to him, continuing to undress him after being told to stop and blocks his exit, that’s not a consensual encounter.
Women are just as capable of being horrible people as men are.
I can identify a sexual assault when I watch it play out in front of me. The fact that the show runners try to frame it as some consensual, romantic encounter is honestly WORRYING. If someone is trying to leave and asking you to stop and you don’t, guess what? That’s sexual assault.
Congrats, Rhaenyra is a sexual predator at 17. Beat Aegon by a few years. Oh, is it not cool to equate those two things? The only difference we are decidedly given is that the genders were swapped. Both times the servant (Dyana and Cole) tried to leave and told them to stop. Why is one condemned and the other celebrated? It’s the same thing. If you’re going to say Aegon is a rapist, guess what? Rhaenyra is too. We watch it happen.

y'all are absolutely free to use tumblr however you please but I want redditors to know that they could, hypothetically, start a sideblog about a particular topic, add moderators to it, turn on submissions (and asks), make an "about" page laying out rules and such, and create a good tagging system. If you want it to be a bit more familiar.

So far one of the biggest differences between reddit and tumblr for me is that there's no pressure to create a "good" post. There's no button to reduce the number of notes a post has (unless you're the source of one of those notes, which I mean hey, you gave me these imaginary internet numbers in the first place, feel free to rescind them for any reason).
There's no bots that will automatically delete my post because I didn't have 10,000 tumbloints, users don't seem to come out of the woodwork to disparage your post if it doesn't meet some invisible standard of content (and if they do you can just block them)
I've had a reddit account for 14 years and I think you can already get a better picture of who I am as a person in my less then 12 hours of tumblr shitblogging.
Anyway, thanks tumblr friends for being so welcoming.

arthur is rude to that one sex worker because the guys are fucking around as they oughtn't be and he actively wants the source of their distraction to go away. that is how he operates through the entire game: deliberate, utilitarian intimidation and strategic unpleasantness to achieve a goal. it is an early game commentary on arthur meant to position him as a big dog that barks. it is not a commentary on his views about women which are clarified many times afterward. you guys realize that right

Yes, hi, what's happening to reddit? I usually check some fandom news there but everything is private/blocked now? I have an account and not even that allows me to enter?
Reddit is changing their policy so they every thousand api requests they charge money. This means that third party apps, moderation tools, and other various things just won’t work anymore, since these things rack up thousands of requests very quickly, they’d just be unsustainable to run.
This cost would be average out to a dollar per month per person using third party applications, like an alternative app, text to speech, moderation tools, etc. Reddit has millions and million of users, most of which would be affected.
For example, Apollo for Reddit, a popular third party alternative to the Reddit app (which I used myself, seriously the Reddit app is abysmal) would cost $20MILLION DOLLARS A YEAR TO RUN. Given the app is developed by one guy, that legitimately puts him out of business.
Moderation would get even worse than it already is, as moderation tools use the api to effectively moderate, but now it’s at a cost.
The reason why this change is happening, is because the API can be used to collect data for AI, and, to quote the CEO, “the Reddit corpus of data is really valuable” and he doesn't want to “need to give all of that value to some of the largest companies in the world for free.”
So, once again, AI and capitalism is ruining things for everyone else.
This is a change that is created solely to make money without thinking for a second about the millions of people it would effect. This lead to 7000 of the most popular subreddits blacking out for 48 hours in protest, and I’m pretty sure it crashed the whole site. The voice of the people has definitely been heard, now it’s just time to see if it’s done anything.
Edit: I got something wrong! Thanks to all who corrected me! No thanks to the anon who was an asshole about it lmao
It’s not that Reddit is charging that’s the problem, it’s that it’s charging way too much, is way too short of a deadline to change it, and spez is just an asshole lying about the Apollo dev. Still a shit situation! Just not exactly for the reasons I said. Look into the reblogs for people who know more!!

I can’t. I just can’t 🤦🏻‍♀️
They start off by claiming Luke also commanded Arrax in common and he listened. Never happened. Luke only uses HV. Aemond freaked out and used the wrong language, and guess what? Vhagar didn’t listen.
Vhagar not responding to commands in common while Sunfyre quite clearly does just proves that Sunfyre is, in fact, a bilingual dragon. We see him respond when Aegon urges him to go faster in common. We also see him breathe fire when told to in HV. He understands both languages while other dragons do not.
I seriously don’t understand the point of this post. They were proven wrong by several people pointing out that it was Aemond using common tongue and not Luke. They even admitted themselves that Vhagar does not abide by the commands given in common, but they still insist that Sunfyre obeying in two languages isn’t that special and doesn’t mean he is bilingual.
And the greens are the “delusional” ones for being happy that we see something unique and special about Sunfyre. Are we sure the greens are the problem here? The common denominator between this individual and the greens as a whole is this individual who clearly has trouble understanding and accepting simple facts. Pretty sure this individual is the one that is delulu, not the entire green fan base. Just sayin.

i think some get angry at transmascs for discussing our oppressiin because they view invisibility as a privilege rather than a way in which we are oppressed
when their view of invisibility as a privilege is challenged, they lash out and say that we want to be oppressed soooo bad and that we need to shut up
and of course, if we do shut up then nothing changes. we remain invisible and nobody sees us. or talks about us. or cares about us

I get so frustrated by "yeah make vampires scary again" stuff every time a vampire movie has a "monster" vampire (Nosferatu, Voyage of the Demeter, etc). It reeks of an attitude that thinks all horror is about something being ugly and horrifying on the outside. If you can't see the horror in Interview With the Vampire, or a Jean Rollin film, or The Hunger, or Carmilla, or the vampire sections of Baldur's Gate because they are attractive that is absolutely an issue on your end. There is such a rich well of themes to dig into with horror and vampires, especially where sex and romance are concerned, but people are so desperate to separate romance and horror. The despair of being frozen as a child even while your mind matures, the loneliness of an eternity alone, the terror of eternal hunger that can't be sated, the awful seduction by something beautiful but monstrous. Trying to turn vampires into just any other monster doesn't make them more horrifying, its just a more kind of overt horror that can only be done so many times and is often covered better by other monsters.
