What do you play on? I currently use a ROG Zephyrus G15 2022 laptop to play Sims 4 (yes, I would recommend this laptop but if you have the room and $ to get a desktop, get the desktop!) I am currently shopping for a custom PC! I am so excited to finally upgrade my Sims set up! I will keep everyone updated and include my PC specs once everything comes in! <3 

How are your photos so clear? I use SRWE & GShade in game and I use GIMP & Adobe Lightroom app to sharpen/color my photos.

Will you ever do YouTube? I dream about doing videos but my laptop is super loud when I play Sims, so I can’t do YouTube until I get a desktop that is a lot quieter sadly!

How do you make CC Finds? I set up a bare lot with just photo backdrops, I take quick screenshots of the items and move over to Canva. I use a 9-slot template for every CC Find. In Canva, I just zoom in the item and it becomes super clear. I then move the template over to Gimp to sharpen the entire photo. I do not use SRWE to make CC Finds (it would take a lot longer)

How do you make Lookbooks? I create usually 3 different outfit themes in CAS on Nara. I used to take the photos in CAS but learned quickly that the quality is not good in there! I also can’t get SRWE to work in CAS. I now take photos of Nara in Live Mode on a white backdrop. I do use SRWE to take each photo. It takes a little longer, but the quality is great. I then crop and sharpen the photos in GIMP. 

How do you post so often? Like my bio says, I don’t have many hobbies other than Sims lol! I spend a lot of my nights scheduling posts for weeks to come. When the post goes public, I share it to my other social medias. At this moment, I have 18 scheduled posts. I am now starting to post daily at 10am EST and 2pm EST time. So, keep an eye out at those times! I also have learned the art of working fast at creating posts. I also have a list of CC Finds, Lookbooks, screenies that I want to do. So I pretty much always have a plan on what I am going to do that day. Some posts just come naturally. Also another tip! If you see my sim in a screenie wearing an outfit you like, just know a lookbook will probably be coming soon! (you can also do a WCIF under my ask, I won’t mind!)

I was a super fan of LifeSimmer back in the day! she inspired me to begin playing sims 3. the rest was history hahah, i started my TikTok during the pandemic and don’t regret it one bit! What is considered both a reasonable and maximum polycount for custom content hair and other types of custom content in The Sims 2 and does it depend on gaming specs? Also your work is great!

I, personally, use hair that is under 25K polys unless it's unique and cute. Anything over that is overboard and should get decimated. Any furniture or clothing over 10K is extreme for me.

As for specs, I'm inclined to believe that it's a game limitation, how powerful your computer specs are, and a secret third and fourth thing, your OS, and if you're a laptop user.

This OS talk is a side tangent, so bear with me:

Big disclaimer that this is all my opinion, not a factual piece. Don't take this as gospel and I'm far from an expert on operating softwares, computers, and CC for that matter. I went a little bit insane with the OS talk because you mentioned specs and this has been on my mind for a while 🥴

Every single time I've heard that someone installed TS2 on Linux, they are able to play on maximum settings with a BUNCH of CC for a long time and experience no pink soup or pink soup related crashing. I want to do my own research and play the same heavily detailed lot for the same amount of time on Windows and Linux and compare the differences as well as compare how they use resources differently. If I already did not have an attachment to Photoshop CC 2017, I would have made the switch by now.

Okay so Windows... I've played TS2 on my Asus laptop from 2020 and on my new desktop. Here's the spec difference

Laptop: Intel Core i7-9750H 6 Core Processor, 8 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 (Windows 10)

Desktop: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X Six-Core Processor, 16 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti (Windows 11)

My laptop was really good for it's time (I bought it in March 2020), but it was pink soup galore for any cluttered CC lot, even with all of the fixes and GRM edits. My current setup is a mish mosh of my bf's and ex's computer parts and it runs perfectly fine, but I do not play long enough to encounter pink soup. (I have a job and I mainly play to get CC previews these days.) If you noticed, both my CPU and GPU were made before my laptop was sold, and yet it still performs way better. Laptops with top of the line hardware will never be more powerful than PCs with even mid to high level hardware from 5 years ago. Don't forget that laptops will throttle performance to protect itself from overheating and causing damage.

There is also no difference between installing and playing the game on Windows 10 and Windows 11, except that you should absolutely uninstall OneDrive if you haven't already. There might be some issue if you install with discs, but I don't own the discs.

And as for Mac, I truly believe that Mac is the worst way to experience Sims 2. Between the Super Collection crap, not being able to use third party tools (SimPE, Hair Binner, any other .exe files made to run for Windows), and the file limit that really hits you hard if you download a bunch of CC that you can't merge anyway because CCMerger can't run on Mac. I should say I have never played Sims 2 on a Mac, but this is my opinion after reading about the struggles of other MacOS users online.

The point of this OS tangent? None, really. I'm not trying to persuade you to use Linux or stop using Mac, this is simply what I've noticed and my opinions on the matter. There's millions of variables I did not cover such as DXVK, texture sizes, difference in specs between each OS and user and many other things I am forgetting.

Anywho, I think we should encourage more people to make COD OCs because it is so fun to see how people would interpret how their OC would react with the in game characters. I feel like most people do not one to do it due to the stigma associated with it and self inserts but OCs can be so fun

For example, I want to know more about Stray and learn everything I can but that may just be my Autism and my hyperfixation on talking about OCs I find interesting. I remember reading the post you had done for her after you reblogged it and it made me want to redo the biographies I had done for my two major COD OCs as I just loved it

We also need more trends for OCs. When I get round to posting about mine I want to try and make a trend where other creators can post ideas about skins their OC or self insert would have if they were in multiplayer since I myself love thinking of outfit designs as they can show so much of the OC's personality. Or a trend where we get to see OC voice lines if they were in the games and voice lines of them talking to other characters as I love when OCs have beef with the in game characters as it is just so fun

Since imagine if Stray and König had a matching skin set similar to how König and Horangi have a matching skin set

Yes yes!! I'd absolutely love to see more people creating their COD ocs, I have quite a lot of fun creating mine. OCs are definitely a lot of fun, you're basically creating a character from scratch AND you get the choice to make them look and act the way you want, as well as giving them any backgrounds and relationships you could possibly want!!

You can ask me anything about Stray!! I absolutely adore talking about my OCs, that also includes K-9, though I haven't made an official Military Personnel Profile for her yet!

AHHH yesyes!! Especially the skins would be interesting to see since the military has quite a lot of regulations, but I adore seeing characters in more casual clothes and what they'd dress like normally, little details such as masks and even weapon attachments could give them so much charisma.

Funny thing about the voice lines thing!! I was actually planning on making that for Stray since I have a professional microphone, but I got kinda lazy on creating voice lines to do the VA work HBJEFBHJ

Ahhh absolutely!! Even if it's something small, she definitely enjoys matching with König, so I can imagine her wearing a similar mask or maybe even a mask created by him because at the end of the day, they're spec ops and they need to maintain their privacy.

What is your OC's weapon of choice? Have they ever actually used it? As it is used by both the German and British military, her weapon of choice is the AWM sniper, as it has a pretty precise and effective firing range. Although with the 141 she doesn't get the chance to be a sniper much and has become more hands-on, she used to work with the AWM quite a lot back in the German military and after being recruited as a KorTac member.

I want to attend Haechan’s this year so I’m hoping to get insight on how everything went especially since it was a solo member event 😭 How was ticketing? Your seats were so good!

Omg I love every excuse to brag about this tho hehehe- I moved my pics and vids to my computer, so I’ll reblog this later with some content for you guys to look at 👀 But in the meantime, I’ll just give you a rundown of my experience and hopefully that helps you out!!

So I decided to stay in Korea until Feb 10, thinking that Johnny would have his bday party like. On his birthday. And I also stayed for Doyoung’s birthday (he never had a party, so I went to see his musical 2 days after his birthday to celebrate instead). When they announced that the bday party would be the 11th, I immediately moved my flight LMAO. Move flight first, worry about tickets later. I have an account on the Melon Ticket global site for other concerts and events (like the musical), so I thought about getting tickets that way, but honestly. It’s hell for foreigners to attempt it. Basically, general sale goes on sale an hour before SM Global Package for allllll events, so you have to decide if you’re getting general sale or global package, because you can’t do both or else they’ll cancel your tickets when sweeping for resellers and bots and duplicate tickets later on. Knowing how fast tickets sell out in Asia, I didn’t even attempt it, I made up my mind about doing Global Package- Also because I needed a hotel, which GP provides, so it worked out. It’s a good thing I chose GP because I ended up watching general sale for fun just to see fast it would sell out— I was on the landing page an hour prior on a professional esports PC in Korea, so. I should’ve had even better connection/specs than most ppl trying to get onto the site, and I still ended up as #33,000+ in the queue, and by the time I got to the ticketing page, everything was sold out. This was a minute after it went on sale.

If you do general sale, remember to have Melon Ticket and PayPal accounts set up beforehand, be logged in, turn off ad-blocker (because it will prevent PayPal from popping up and will cancel your ticket purchase), and be sure to set up on the best computer / internet you have available to you. Do ping tests. If your ping is high at home, maybe try a cafe or something? If you have an esports cafe near you (or PC bang) then 110% go there, that’s what most Asia fans do. Do test purchases beforehand too. Try buying tickets for another event without actually buying, but then you can see the whole process of needing to click the event, the date, the time, the seat, and then going through the process of purchasing. That way when the day comes to buy for Hyuck, you can speed run it because you know what to do.

For birthday events through Global Package you must have a Weverse membership. Idk what they’re going to require for Haechan because he’s 127 and Dream, but for Johnny we needed 127 Weverse Memberships- You HAVE to set up your entire GP account first and submit your membership through your account DAYS-WEEKS in advance because they need to verify your membership first before attaching it to your account for all future events. I got verified before Momentum, so I got an extra page of signed notes from the boys; so your membership is used for other things aside from also qualifying for certain tickets. When tickets are announced, you need to go to the GP page and apply for tickets first, and they will go through the process of verifying that you’re a member, a foreigner in need of a ticket, and that you have moneyyyyyy lol. Once you’re verified, they’ll send you a notification to let you know that you can participate in ticketing- This doesn’t guarantee you a ticket. Birthday parties are small, GP tickets are limited. For Johnny’s bday, there was 800-ish capacity, and there were only 16-ish ppl who participated in GP (and most of them were from Japan, surprisingly). When I did ticketing, I had practice from getting Momentum tickets which was HELL fighting for those, so I was ready to go to war for these tickets lol. Set up your account ahead of time because when you’re trying to get tickets, they’re gonna be like “please confirm your account info” just by reading it. DONT FUCKING READ IT. ONCE YOURE IN THE TICKETING PROCESS, DONT STOP!! Okay. You click the event, click English (or whichever language you prefer), SCROLL FAST to the package you want (in my case, it was the single room, but you can go with a friend and split the cost), click the package, SCROLL to reserve, and then you’re going to ignore all of the review pages- Because guess what. You can go back and edit your ticket info later 😂 SO IGNORE ITTTTT keep clicking proceed or whatever until you get to PayPal and then VERY CALMLY pay. I did not remain calm during this part because for whatever reason, my ticket page crashed and I had to start over, and I was shitting my pants cuz I thought I didn’t get tickets. SO JUST REMAIN. CALM. their website is ass, things happen, just try again if you need to. You’ll know you got the tickets if you get an email from PayPal- SM GP will not send you a confirmation email…. It’s stupid, ik. Again, their site is ass.

Pros of general ticketing: you get to pick your seat.

Cons of general ticketing: you likely won’t get a ticket, or a good ticket because the sasaengs are GODS at this shit and they sweep up the first few rows in seconds.

Pros of SM Global Package: guaranteed a ticket, provided a hotel room, on-site staff to answer questions and guide you to and from the event, a bus that takes you to and from the event (if you want… you can opt out and take public transport if you have plans, like getting dinner or something), you get an extra piece of merch, you get the normal ticketing merch, and you get a snack at the end of the event— I SHIT YOU NOT! Those walnut cookies they give you….. OMFG….. arguably the best part of the event (joking…. Kind of).

Cons: You don’t get to pick your seat or your hotel. I’ll explain.

When the event date approaches, SM GP will reach out to tell you the name of your hotel, how to get there, etc. You are responsible for checking yourself in whenever you arrive in Korea. For birthday parties, GP starts the day before the event and ends the day after the event- Meaning I checked in on the 10th, went to the bday party the 11th, checked out the 12th. They’ll tell you check in and check out times on the GP site. They’ll tell you the schedule, your bus number, emergency contacts, etc. The day of the event, you’ll go to the lobby to check in for the event with Global Package staff. They’ll look at your passport to verify your identity, ask if you’re taking the bus both ways, and then they’ll tell you to pick your seat. It’s a random draw. They hold the stack out in front of you, you pick a random envelope, and PRAY. Near the check in desk, they’ll have a map of the venue so you can find your seat. I happened to randomly pull row 5 without knowing. The way the tickets were, it just said section B, seat 46 or whatever. I thought that meant like. ROW 46. I WAS SO SAD BRO. I WENT TO MY ROOM AND SULKED until I googled the seating chart to see the actual seats and not just sections, and uh. I was row 5 😀 I was no longer sulking. Anyhow, when you check in, they’ll give you the ticket gifts and global package gift. This was slightly different from Momentum ngl. For concerts, when you check in, they only give you your global package gifts (there were so fucking many of them omfg), your membership gift, and any merch you preordered. It’s not until you’re on the bus heading to the concert that they give you the ticket gifts and vip gifts (if you bought VIP, which I did). For Johnny’s bday party, the ticket gifts were a sticker sheet, a photocard, and a keep-sake ticket(?). The GP gift was a literal brandy glass (for alcohol 😀). But that was it. For bday events, you don’t get to write letters to them like you do for concerts, so don’t take stickers and stuff like that with the intent to write a letter!

I like to take the buses for GP. I’ve been to Korea enough that I know how to take public transport lol ok, but the convenience of the bus is so nice, and I’m already paying for it?? Why waste that money and spend more money on T-money for public transport? Also, I don’t know where the fuck I need to go to get into these events lol. Momentum was my first concert in Korea, I would’ve sobbed if I needed to find the VIP entrance on my own. Same with Johnny’s bday because WHY WAS THE ENTRANCE IN A BASEMENT? I would’ve never known…. The only downside to the bus is you can’t get there early to get freebies. I’d found so many posting on Twitter, but by the time I got there, they were all gone ☹️ Still, I like it cuz they lead us around and I don’t have to worry about a thing. Once you’re there, there’s things to take pics with before doors open, so be sure to do all that. Once doors open, they’ll give you banners and other things you need to participate- They gave us this double sided page that said A and B, and we used it to play a game with Johnny that was like “do we think the same” so he asked like “do you think pancakes for shoes or spaghetti as a hat would be better” and then everyone who raised A for pancakes was out cuz this dumb mother fucker thinks that spaghetti as a hat is better??!??! I’m still salty. Anyhow, the last 7 ppl standing got these teddy bears with voice messages in them from Johnny 😩 It should’ve been meeeee. I will warn you, in Korea, everything is gonna be in Korean (duh) but especially for Haechan, there won’t be any English accommodations. We got lucky because Johnny’s bilingual and there were SO many foreigners that people started shouting “ENGLISH PLEASE” so Johnny started translating the questions from Korean to English. That prob won’t happen at any other bday event. So be ready to have Google translate open if you need it!! Also don’t be surprised if a bunch of ppl just come up to you to give you freebies. I was awkwardly sitting in my seat, sweating with anxiety, shitting my pants about how close I was to the stage, and a bunch of Johfam just came up to me one at a time to hang me freebies lol. I got a pic of some of them:

Also, this mfer- He promised to announce a dress code?!!! AND HE DIDNT?! So if you’re packing for your event and don’t know what to take, here’s my advice: Base it off the theme, and don’t go overboard. In Korea, they don’t get reallyyyyy dressed up for concerts or events- That’s a foreigner thing, and you will get clocked as one immediately. Me, I’m already pale asf, they’re gonna clock it no matter what, idgaf. I know that Johnny likes neutral colors, and even though the theme seemed very “sophisticated” like dressing up reallyyyy nice, I didn’t take any of that to Korea and it was too cold, so I just wore a white crop top and brown sweat pants. Most people wore casual clothes too- Except for the Chinese fans who were REALLY dressed up lol, and that’s how you clock that they’re foreigners. My advice: Wear something on theme, but keep in mind the weather and your comfortability. If you don’t give a fuck, dress up. Who caressssss. If you want to be cold asf, wear a short skirt! lol. Just do what you want if they don’t announce a dress code, but try your best to fit the theme just a lil bit cuz it’s fun!! You’re already flying to Korea for it, you might as well make the most of it! As for what to take with you, this is what I took (besides the merch, which I didn’t take ofc)

In my concert bag I use for all events around the world lol, I took my wallet, passport, power bank and a cord for my Samsung, both of my phones— IF YOU DONT HAVE A GALAXY ULTRA……… GGS— hand sanitizer, and my AirPods. Merch wise, I took CaraJohn, all of my Johnny starfishes, my lightstick, and a picket. Take. Your. Lightstick. Or a picket. One or the other. Johnny didn’t really do anything with it for his event, but ik Yangyang wanted people to turn on their lightstick when he was rapping/singing. Also it’s just cute for pics, and it shows your support! I also like to attach my Sminis to my bag, a bunch of photocard keychains, etc. Since my bag is clear and there’s an outside pocket, I put photocards in toploaders and put them in the exterior pocket to display- and also hide what’s in my bag. I saw ppl take banners/slogans too, so you can do that! I just didn’t have hands for mine……

The event itself was fun. I could tell Johnny was in his element when he was yapping and then I could tell he was nervous asf when playing the piano and when he was singing. He messed up the piano slightly which is why he posted on insta after 😔 JOHNNY ITS OK YOU WERE STILL PERFECT 🤩 And his singing was shaky cuz. You know. He’s up there by himself, flexing his vocal skills which he rarely even gets to do in group activities. I wish he wouldn’t doubt himself so much or think that JohFam would ever hate on his vocals-- WE WANT TO HEAR HIM SINGGGG!! But I think his bday party was perfect for him because he literally just treated it like a podcast and then got to do what he loved, which was fan interactions, fan service (wearing cat ears and a doctor costume for pics), playing the piano, and performing. All of the SM idols are heavily involved in planning their bday parties-- watch Yangyang and Kun's bts vids to see that-- so they're all going to have different kinds of bday parties that fit their personalities more. Haechan will def sing and prob do some silly shit? prob q&a's? idk. But if you want the chance of getting to see your idol up close (ish) and have 2 hours of nonstop content of that idol, then the bday party is perfect. This was the closest I've ever been to Johnny. KCON LA, I was row 10. Momentum Seoul, I was row 14 in front of the extended stage. Momentum San Antonio, I'm gonna be row 5. I literally could not have been closer to Johnny if I didn't go to his bday party lol, but take that with a grain of salt since tickets are random if you do GP, so I could've possibly ended up towards the back-- But even then, it's 2 hours of Johnny. Just Johnny. Yapping. I'm so glad I went, and I think if you are able to attend a bday event for your bias, then you should go for it! ESPECIALLY with NCT approaching military years....... we gotta enjoy this while we can, that's my thinking. Not to be a debbie downer, but we don't know how much longer they're gonna do stuff like this, so... my thought process for the past year while dropping over 10k on NCT is "balls to the wall, fuck it" LMAOOOOO

One last thing about pricing for GP, to anyone who's curious: The only inclusions are hotel, ticket, gifts, event transportation. Airfare, transportation to and from the airport, and meals are NOT included, so you have to budget that as well. If you're like me, then the price of a plane ticket rn is 2k+, and that's just a crime is2g. But $2,000+ for plane, $700 for bday GP, $100 for transportation and food, all for three days isn't affordable / reasonable for everyone, that's why most people who participate in GP are from Asia and not NA or Europe. Don't break the bank for this. Yes, it was fun. Yes, I recommend it. BUT DONT GO BROKE TO SEE YOUR IDOLS!!!

Hello and welcome to an Infinity Nikki interest blog. This character is 「Valkariel」 and her multiverse has expanded to Miraland. This is a side blog to store snapshots of her outfits and journey, along with tips and tricks for maximizing the potential of Momo's Camera. Nothing fancy! Almost everything is queued!

The player behind her likes dress up games and taking screenshots. I previously played Love Nikki some years ago, but I wanted more screen space to enjoy the game and art. I do not optimize for gameplay in gacha games, so whatever outfit pieces I collect by sheer luck and passive gameplay will be what we work with. The true Nikki experience is looking like a mess for every style challenge anyway.

✧・°・。・°・。・ GRAPHICS SETTINGS / SPECS

I think I will focus on expanding photo mode options first. Because of this, graphics settings are very relevant. Please be aware that I play on PC, so many of the tips/discoveries for Momo's Camera ("Whimcam") that I write about may not apply on mobile. Apologies in advance if that is the case!

For any non-photo mode gameplay, I run on the lowest settings because I'm a little short on RAM, which makes the game stutter sometimes. Before I enter photo mode using Momo's Camera, I turn up my settings.

⤷ The most important one is "Post-processing" set to medium or higher since this is what allows the "Aperture" setting to blur the background with depth of field / bokeh.

⤷ For areas with a lot of flowers and foliage, "Scenery Details" must be set to high. A medium setting only renders the bushes without the flowers.

Bridgewater fanart again! (Jeremy Bradshaw in his office)

This is my biggest biggest fanart I’ve ever done so far and let me just say that I’m super proud of it!! There are a lot of details once again 👀 (kudos if you can see the references!)

This is a fanart totally dedicated to @thelaurenshippen , thank you so much for your support on my fanarts, it truly means the world to me, and it isn’t much but it is my way to thank you, as you said that you had a new headcanon as you reblogged my Jeremy sleeping fanart “also: new headcanon I now have vipin started TAing for Jeremy when he was still in undergrad so Jeremy also has one photo of the two of them at Vipin's graduation in his office” so I had to do this: Jeremy’s office where there is a picture of the two at Vipin’s graduation!

Once again as the details are detailing and the headcanon is headcanoning, I’m putting some further explanation after the read more! (And also I’ll tell the refs if you don’t want to search for too long 😭)

It took me 19 hours (I’m slow don’t judge me too much and this is not counting the frame on Jeremy’s desk 😭) so let me just say that a LOT of thoughts went through that little (big?) piece.

First of all as you saw, there is Vipin’s graduation pic on Jeremy’s desk, so here’s a further explanation of it under the post of the art itself (in case you want to see it in a bigger way too)

Then, for the phone’s screen, I did a fake conversation between Vipin and Jeremy which I think totally happened at some point. And here is the real screenshot of it because I don’t think you can see well what is written on the fanart unfortunately. (I also put a little reference to the album “Feelings and Such” by Louden Swain in it which is what Jeremy is supposed to listen to, I gotta say the main reason is because it’s my fave album and group but I would totally see Jeremy listening to that kind of music from time to time, I see him listening to “There’s the Rub” from that album)

Then comes his computer: it is truly the logo of the Bridgewater State University, the sticker from the real merch of the Bridgewater podcast, and the ace flag (because Jeremy Bradshaw being on the ace spec soothes my soul)! It’s my headcanon about Jeremy’s computer, it’s the third time I’ve drawn his pc, and the stickers stay the same no matter what and it’ll stay this way jsksksk

There is little basket of stim toys on his desk too and that’s totally my headcanon: I see Jeremy as a really caring professor, and to me he would have it in his office for the stressed out students coming to see him so they can feel better, or at least his students know he has some to lend! (And I’m nd, I would love to have a professor like that 😭) (thanks for a moot on Twitter for the slinky idea!!)

For the sticky notes on the desk: the one on the papers states “read before 03/24” which is the date the last episode of S2 aired, the pink one “proofread Lauren’s thesis defense date 08/06” Lauren is a direct nod to Lauren Shippen, and the date corresponds to the first airing date of the two first eps of S1 of Bridgewater.

The sticky note it “printer password BSU1976JyBw PS: Vipin I do have a limited amount of copies!” because I thought that printers in the uni might have password deferring from each profs (at least it was like this in my French highschool — as a reminder, I’m from France so it’s really me trying to find stuff on the internet), so BSU = Bridgewater State University, 1976 being Jeremy’s birth year (at least I tried to calculate it and it was 1976? Hopefully I’m right 😭✋ as the show aired in 2021 I tried to assume that 2021 was also the date in the podcast and as Jeremy is 45 during S1 welp), and JyBw is just the first and last letter of his first and last name. Comes my headcanon: at some point Jeremy couldn’t print anything because Vipin had printed too many stuff, hence the little reminder because Jeremy doesn’t want to beg to have more copies 😭

The research paper Jeremy has to read before 03/24 has been written by a certain “J.Novak”! (Totally a Supernatural reference) And when it comes to SPN refs, it’s much more subtle, but I did the same soles for Jeremy’s shoes as Castiel in the episode The End of spn (because the shoes are quite famous for being also identical to the one Dean wears so it was funny and on a funfact Jeremy’s legs and feet posture is bc I saw Misha sit like this so I thought it was fun (I also sit like that so it made me happy))

Behind Jeremy there’s an undone Rubik’s Cube, because I totally see it as Jeremy’s very own stim toy but the catch is that he doesn’t know how to solve it 😭 (thanks another moot for the idea @stillwinchester ily!!).

There’s also a mug, because our man needs to stay concentrated (tea? coffee? Your thoughts, to me Jeremy is more of a tea guy), this is a reference to the X-Files! Big Blue is txf’s Nessie, and the mug is a literal copy of the “real” merch mug you can see in “Quagmire” (3x22 of the X-Files)

For the posters on the walls, the one behind the bookshelves was the main art of an exhibition which occurred “Supernatural America: The Paranormal in American Art” and I’m persuaded that Jeremy would have gone to see that! And he would have loved to keep something from it! (But he ended up having to put his shelf in front of it because he had to put his books somewhere and maybe it creeped out his colleagues and students, here’s a picture of the original painting)

And for the one near his desk, it is an old poster from the American Folk Art Museum, and to me Jeremy would totally be a museum guy, it’s very “academic” after all, plus he would be interested into it as it’s more around people and self taught people and so on, as he is very interested into anthropology, it goes well with the whole vibe.

For the blackboard, the titles are basically what he is teaching in his lecture in S1 EP01 so to me it would be his way to see more what he has to work on for his students (and I think he fidgets his chalks in his lecture because in the same ep as he speaks you can truly hear a lot of chalk sounds which weren’t due to him writing so I understood it that way?), and there’s a little magnet with a “buy cat food!” because headcanon to me but Jeremy owns a cat (a black cat you can see him on his lockscreen on my drawing of Jeremy sleeping) but as he spends a lot of the time at the BSU, I think he would put reminders just in case 😭 (and there’s a little flower drawing made by Vipin! to me he would doodle little stuff from time to time with little smileys to brighten up Jeremy’s day a little)

Then in the bookshelves you can see a little purple owl! It’s to me, an amethyst carved one, as Jeremy had had his esoteric era when he was younger (it was said in S2 that he tried to be Wiccan) he must still have some stone knowledge and as amethyst is supposed to have soothing and good vibes properties, he might have taken this although he doesn’t believe in it anymore, and of course he picked it because it was an owl because it’s better now to laugh about the owl situation 😭

Lastly: all the books are real books! It took me some time but all of these exist, it’s mainly anthropology book, faculty/uni book, research stuff, and there are two books about the Bridgewater triangle! I tried to keep it around Jeremy’s field of course so it’s the occult, witchcraft, the Salem trials, UFOs, beliefs and all!

WHO ELSE is building a new PC for Veilguard eh? Throw your parts list in a reblog! Because I'm nosy. I haven't finalized mine yet though >_> I'm debating my budget.

I built my current PC for Inquisition and have jokingly ever since called it my 'Dragon Age Machine', but the fact is that I genuinely don't game a whole lot, outside Dragon Age. So then I have this internal debate of, how much do I want to spend to make basically 1 game look pretty??? (I mean. I do have other games. I do play other games. But I don't consider myself like, 'A Gamer').

I also.... COULD... reuse my current PC. Maybe. the CPU is juuuuuust under min spec. I have plenty of RAM. I have no SSD space left, so it would have to go on an HDD and be slow as hell loading. But my GPU is one of the recommended ones since I upgraded it for RDR2 5 years ago. I *can* play BG3 and it's like, fine. But I don't want Veilguard to be slow and kinda ugly TT^TT

Writeup: AOpen i945GMm-HL shenanigans

AOpen i945GMm-HL - The Retro Web

Welp. This board is weirder than I ever thought it'd be. Not the board in general, but the specific one I bought.

To begin, it turns out that my particular board, and likely many others of the same model, are OEM-customized boards that AOpen provided to a little company called RM Education. They make all-in-one PCs for the UK market.

...And they are using evaluation BIOSes (in other words, BIOS software that's normally only meant for prototyping and... well, evaluation) in their retail boards.

My specific board contains BIOS version R1.08, which is actually R1.02 apparently. There is evidence of an R1.07 existing as well from a reddit thread on the r/buildapc subreddit, but I doubt that it's been dumped anywhere.

Moving on to the original point of this writeup, I got this board because I wanted to build a system that pushed the 32-bit Core Duo T2700 as far as possible, meaning I needed a mobile-on-desktop board. AOpen built a reputation for doing this sorta stuff in the 2000s, so I went ahead and picked one of their boards for use (although I would've much preferred using the top of the line AOpen i975Xa-YDG instead if it were being sold anywhere. That's a VERY tasty looking board with its full size DIMM slots and SLI-compatible dual PCIe x16 slots and ability to crank the FSB all the way to 305MHz).

Slightly surprisingly, the Core Duo T2700 is quite the overclocker! It's able to push from 2.3GHz all the way up to 2.7GHz with some FSB overclocking using the SetFSB tool. It's multiplier-locked to a range from 6.0 to 14.0, so I can only push it through this means.

The board I'm using, the AOpen i945GMm-HL, supports running the FSB up to 195MHz. It's okay-ish in terms of stability, but crashes when running Aida64 benchmarks unless I loosen the memory timings from the 5-5-5-15 settings that it uses at 333MHz to 5-6-6-18, which is just the tiniest bit faster than its stock settings for 400MHz operation by SPD. With these settings, it's much more stable and is able to run the benchmarks, though unless I lower the FSB from 195MHz to 190, it will consistently crash Chrome when trying to play Youtube videos on integrated graphics. I'll likely experiment some to see if adding a card capable of handling the video playback in hardware helps.

For now, this is all for this blog post. I'll follow-up with more details as they come in reblogs. As follows are the specs of the system:

I wanted to add this onto my post from last night but tumblr hates reblog photosets. Anyways I was very aware that posting my V in the darkest corner of an apartment with black hair wasn't really ... showing anything - but it was very much her vibe and that's been the point of this entire project, buckling down and learning Blender from nothing, reverse-engineering mods and systems I was only NEW to about a month or so ago so I could figure out how to bring 'back' her hair, but like ... even more how I wished it was.

And it's finally done (well ... structurally).

I'm not releasing this (yet) as I'd now put myself in 'polish' phase, where I'll be tweaking some physics and other stuff like the vertex painting which influences the shine - brighter hair colours look a bit too blown out at the moment, and I'm not sure if this is because it's too shiny or because of my custom normals (may have to tone them down a bit, idk). You can see what I mean below -

Shadows are also behaving oddly at certain angles, and I wasn't sure if it was a harsh lighting situation but upon changing the lighting up ... no. Something weird is going on. So that'll need troubleshooting (for lighter colours at least). Also some textures just are acting weird on certain parts when I don't think they should look that way so yeah ... more ... troubleshooting ahead. :V

I'm also going to look into if there's something I can do for the 'efficiency' of this mesh because I noticed some pretty severe frame slowdowns taking close up shots - though only sometimes?? Not sure what that was about at all. I'm assuming it's my gpu being pushed harder as I get closer to the hair, but upon changing the hair in the character creator to another and then back it just went away again? So no idea what the hell was going on there. It felt a bit almost like a memory leak, but I didn't do a check to see what my system was doing so I'll have another look if it happens again.

Possible (hypothetical) causes:

Could be texture size, these hair cards have 2k textures apart from the alpha (4k) which is double vanilla textures so that is also a possibility as a fix (though I'd be loathe to do it).

Double rigs. I noticed last night when in my rigging phase with UUH4V that reducing it from three meshes and rigs to TWO meshes and two rigs significantly improved framerate lag (I mean it was minor but noticeable enough) in the character creation screen, so it could hypothetically be something to do with calculations of running two rigs at the same time. If that is the case, I could probably just rig this to the Alt hair rig. Currently I'm using Alt's for the back and left side of the hair, whereas the fringe at the front and the curl over the shoulder is rigged to Old Rogue. I'll probably still keep using UUH4V just … one rig only.

Last in the list? Hair cards. There are a lot. Maybe too many. They're also of a higher poly than last time. That said I've looked at other mods with heavier polycounts than mine (what gave me the courage to push further in the first place after my very low poly attempt 1.0) that caused more obvious frame slowdown in just the character creator alone. I feel there is still a minor slowdown currently but it's on the edge of noticeable (like, 30fps vs 60fps). As it goes though, this is still pretty insanely efficient (thank YOU Hair Tools for Blender).

BONUS: Mods. Other mods. The thing I use to hook in a DLL for pose control. Could always be that?

So uh, guess that's what I'll be working on. I don't know how much time I should be spending on getting this 'frame efficient' considering anyone using this would be primarily be for screenshots, and given the specs I'm currently running (AMD Ryzen 5 CPU and an RTX 2060) are being re-classed as the 'bare minimum' with Phantom Liberty coming out, and I am planning on upgrades to my PC anyway.

We'll see? (Though in my heart of hearts, I have have had potato PCs for years and I want to support the lowest specs I possibly can). I dunno let me know what you think about that one as a possible mod user (and someone who actually reads these, wow).

Anyways all that matters is jesus christ I finally did this. I taught myself hair. From scratch.

Hey, this is a longshot—but d’you have a link to that “how to remove bloatware on Windows/what bloatware to remove” post?

I’m asking because a friend sent me a link to that one about pc specs you reblogged a while back, and I could’ve sworn I saw the bloatware one in the recommended posts for that one, but I forgot to like the post and now I can’t find it. I finally picked up a windows laptop and need to know what to disable.

I may poke around a bit more later to see if I can find the post but for now... I can list off some of what I did based on my own recent experiences of setting up a new laptop after my old one decided to start blue screening if I moved it five inches in any direction. (That old laptop is now doing perfectly fine when left completely stationary, so I've been using it to experiment with creating a local file sync for back ups using some old hard drives i had lying around.)

Bloatware Social Media/Video Media Apps:

These are probably pretty obvious bloatware since this is a computer and all these services are therefor going to a.) work on the browser and b.) work better on the browser than the app anyway. Also there are a few cases like Facebook where there's a c.) why would I touch <insert application> with a ten foot pole anyway? reason for removing the App

Any preloaded game you don't find interesting. Depending on the vendor there could be a lot of games or no games.

X-Box gaming apps - while there are some reasons to keep the x-box gaming stuff, most people are gonna find it useless

Omen gaming - if you've got an HP laptop specifically, you will probably want to give Omen related game apps the boot too

Vendor specific applications - YMMV, I do keep some of these for diagnostic purposes, but you definitely want to at least give any HP this or Dell that or whatever type programs a harder look. Any program starting with the name of the vendor that created your laptop? At the very least look it up to see how important it really is/isn't

Adobe programs - there are free versions of everything adobe does that do it better than adobe does

3D Viewer - it's a 3D modeling program, but odds are you won't need/want this

Microsoft 365/Office/etc - Unless you need these programs specifically for professional reasons, LibreOffice is free and reliable and has multiple UI modes for the toolbars depending on your preferences

YOOOOOO hey anon!! For what it's worth storage space is absolutely always the easiest thing to upgrade on any given computer, including laptops. Quick disclaimer in that I consider myself fairly casual at actually working with computer hardware (I'm the defacto computer repair guy at work but work for a tiny org with around 20 employees so my experience comes down to fixing a couple of busted laptop keyboards/hard drives/batteries/I replaced a screen once, and I built my younger brother's computer) but I'm unusually comfortable with gutting hardware due to a combination of a longtime (like a decade now, woof) hobby of fixing games consoles and having a degree in computer engineering.

You've got a few options depending on your exact situation (if your motherboard has extra slots you can add another harddrive but this usually involves having to add extra data cables and power cables - I've never done this so I'm no good lol) but your best options are either to get an external harddrive or just straight up swap the drive for a bigger one.

external harddrive is the easier scenario; you just... buy an external harddrive. back when I set up mine it was cheaper to just buy a usb harddrive enclosure and regular internal harddrives than to get an out of the box ready to go external harddrive, and you can even buy multi harddrive enclosures if you wanna go all in on massive storage (I like to think of myself as an archivist as opposed to a data hoarder, but regardless I frankensteined myself a 14tb external harddrive that plays host to my personal data like every photo I've taken in almost 2 decades, but also a stockade of leaked data I find interesting, a few more obscure shows I'm worried about losing, my own lost media finds, and so on).

if you don't want to deal with external harddrives (they take up some physical space albeit not much these days, you have to deal with slower usb transfer speeds, etc.) swapping out the harddrive for a bigger one on your computer is relatively easy, but you will need these prerequisites:

-knowledge of your computer make and model. this seems trivial but it makes working out what kind of harddrive you've got easier, as well as how to get into the boot menu. if you Google "how to find computer model" there's a myriad of guides - I know it's in windows settings somewhere but I don't remember, hahaha

-the type and size of harddrive - easiest way is to Google "(insert computer model) specs" and find the official specs sheet. Size is fairly obvious, but the two important bits are 1) whether it's SATA or PCIe NVMe, and 2) whether it's an SSD, M2 SSD, or a HDD.

-being comfortable in the fact you are going to have to fiddle around in the BIOS, albeit briefly. ooga booga you can really fuck things up in the bios, yes, but all you need to do is briefly change boot order then swap it back. you are not going to poo poo out your computer by doing this, I promise you 500%

-a usb to either SATA or PCIe NVMe, to match with what you found on the specs sheet

-a usb drive that's at least 8gb (I use cheap thumb drives, more on this in a sec)

-and finally the larger harddrive to replace it. you want to look for one that "matches" the old one but is larger; for example my primary drive in my personal is a SATA SSD that's 256gb, so I'd look for a SATA SSD in say, 512gb or 1tb. As for brand it doesn't matter too much but Seagate, Toshiba, and Western Digital tend to be the more reliable makes; you're better off picking up one of these over a small or no brand drive that may crap out on you early!

first step. we take da pen drive. we make some boot media with it. with windows this is super fucking easy, windows give you a downloadable tool that does this for your itself. Google "create installation media for windows", download the thing, run it, make a cup of tea whilst it writes to usb, bam. you have your Magic Installing Stick. I personally am a weirdo and I like to download windows isos and make my Magic Installing Stick using a little program called Rufus, but you don't have to do this. if you're using Linux this is probably easier but I'm a scrub who dual boots Linux onto my originally-windows system and all my work computers are windows so I have no experience but the Linux community fuckin loves writing guides so one of them will have u it's all good

second step. take password off computer. I don't know if this is necessary but the final step has worked everytime when I do this so. go into user settings and delete ALL passwords and shit on your user

next step. we boot into the bios. we are once again googling with the model name of the computer and this time it's "access (insert computer model) boot menu" because computer manufacturers can't agree on how to do that. turn the computer off, then back on, then spam whatever key the Google told you. you'll get some options, and you wanna pick "BIOS setup" or something like that. you are in the bios now. every bios is ALSO different but you want to find "boot options" or something to that effect and move "usb" or "removable devices" or something to THAT effect up to the top of the list. (I literally cannot be more specific this shit is so different in each computer....) once you've done that save and shut down.

then we get THE SCREWDRIVERS OUT. open the pc. see it's guts. look for the thing that looks like the new harddrive. it's pretty much always obvious and easily accessible because harddrives are the most likely computer component to fucking die so they're really easy to spot even on laptops where they don't want you repairing and upgrading them yourself. unclip it if it's a HDD/slide it out if it's either type of SSD. stick in the new one. congrats on the more memory now it's time to put the pc back together

now it's time for Magic Install Stick. put it in. boot up. in my experience sometimes the bios wants it in one particular usb slot so if it shits itself on bootup turn off and try another slot. eventually it will boot into windows install. install da windows. make another cuppa whilst you wait. boom it's a computer again

go back into bios by key spamming on bootup again. go back to the boot options. move "harddrive" back to the top of the list. you don't necessarily have to do this but I enjoy restoring peace and harmony to my bioses personally

set up windows. grab old drive. grab usb to sata/NVMe/whatever. put stick in usb device. plug usb device in. obtain files from old harddrive. move to new harddrive.

then you have lotsa space and you can enjoy :)

Title: I'M A GRAN TURISMO EXPERT!

I'M CELEBRATING 9 YEARS OF PLAYING GRAN TURSIMO SERIES! FROM GRAN TURISMO 1 TO GRAN TURISMO 2 AND NOW I'M PLAYING GRAN TURISMO 3 A-SPEC AND GRAN TURISMO 4 IN 2009! 🟦🟥🏁🚘😁

Also, I made a tiny brain fart of sorts, as my official said "I'm a Gran Turismo Expert" (and also (sometimes) "MASTER" in my OG description), but I'm nothing more than my own fantasy. Because I only do dirty tricks, as well as trying so hard to get gold per GT installments (specifically "Licenses"), only I get "Bronze". But hey, I learned something everyday, and with my recent "Gran Turismo 7" (for PS4) in my hands, I could finally back on the track while doing hardcore courses to get a sweet drip gold! Just look what happened to my GT Sport experience, right? 😊🟦🟥🏁🚘

BTW: I missed out Gran Turismo 5 & 6 on the PS3, since we don't owned that aforementioned Sony console. On the plus side, I also played GT PSP on the actual portable and on my PC emulator.
