Okay I’m back in my bullshit and I’m gonna make all of you see it!

Dose anyone think about how traumatic getting your powers are if you aren’t born into the empowered society? Like seriously messed up it is?

Lasko ran away-like not even counting in that laskos parents were bad, he still was miserable! He knew something was wrong, that something was up with him. He hid himself away and was isolated. And for other people, getting their powers is amazing! A cause for celebration, a party!! Pats on the shoulders and hugs!

People who don’t have that privilege? It’s a coin toss of what’s going to happen to them. Some run away, others are forced to play pretend before they snap and run, some can be hurt, others exploited, called crazy or insane. And that’s just a few things I can think of :(

Just the inherent lack of information out there leads to extremely high risks of people being hurt or worse and I get why they hide. It’s magic, it’s powerful and it’s dangerous but holy shit. What’s worse, a few people taking advantage of magic or letting hundreds if not thousands of uninformed people get hurt and risk covert anyway—I mean holy shit closeknit exist anyway and taking advantage of humanborns/people who don’t know SHIT

I’m not saying that the empowered world should go public, now or never who’s to say. But I AM saying is to put some things in place so it’s easier for those not born in the know to get help and be properly educated about what’s happening to them or a loved one. Especially in big cities, like dahlia.

lasko and freelancer in the friendsgiving audio make me melt. freelancer wasn't against gavin’s teasing and flirting with lasko, but when it ended and gav decided to check on damien and hux in the kitchen, they immediately checked on him and encouraged him to tell them what was on his mind. they entertained his questions and rants with consideration and a tender attitude. they're just so ughdhhfhh i am. normal about them

Taurus

I already made a ref sheet for Taurus so I already wrote down some info about him there so you can go see that if you wanna

I can only imagine since I established that he's friends or at least knows every single redacted de(a)mon and also is a part of the chorus that if he would be on the redacted channel he'd successfully force himself into practically every storyline.

Practically all redacted ocs that I made I more imagine as side characters than as "main" characters so they don't really have a listener, but I guess his listener would technically be freelancer.

I imagine he remembers the cacophony well, even though he wants to forget it.

Gin Asari

I'm very aware that Gin wouldn't really work as a character since, to be a sibling to a listener would mean to not have them have a distinct background, race or gender (or at least agab) since this is specifically an identical twin brother, because unless them and the listener are not blood related (and in this case they are) the characters background, race and gender would allude to the listeners background, race and gender which you're not supposed to do. But because I have already made up the listeners background race and gender as if they were an oc as most people do, I haven't really thought about this.

Anyways, this is Gin Asari! Lovely's twin brother! And if you haven't noticed they are the main character of the oc fic I wrote some time ago. I actually made 4 more chapters for that fic but didn't post it since I thought it wasn't good enough and also people hate fics written in first person for some reason.

I don't really remember why I made this oc either, I guess just because I wanted to explore the idea of a electro-energetic baddy, even though they don't really have their electric powers yet since they haven't experienced a traumatic enough experience and Lovely hasn't told them in fear that they would try to traumatize themselves on purpose to get them. I also wanted to explore Adam's backstory through them (btw I fucking struggled to make the timelines align to find out what age they are).

For those of you who haven't read the fic ("the fic" meaning also the chapters I didn't publish so I guess that's like all of you) here's a quick summary: Lovely's twin brother (who at this point isn't in contact with Lovely since Lovely ran away from their parents when they were 16) is chilling in med school with their roommate: Adam Jessup. That is, all until Adam disappears one day and is found dead in a car crash, except, Adam didn't really die and he just got turned willingly. Adam returns one year later by sneaking into Gin's room. There, Adam descides to feed on them and after realizing they're willing to let him feed on them, let's them live and starts a very unhealthy relationship where he returns to feed on them every week or so. That is until he gets addicted to their humanborn latent electro energetic blood and every week or so becomes every night. The induced anemia and stress from overworking themselves due to their parent's high expectations, Gin's mental state starts to decline. That is until they find out that Adam is a literal serial killer and he basically tries to murder them since they didn't want to continue their relationship. They run away to Dahlia, both from him and from their parents, until a couple of years later they meet Lovely, now a vampire, by chance, and they catch up and learn that Adam has been upgraded to a decapitated skeleton under a broken down rollercoaster.

I realize that I mostly wrote their backstory and not their current story, like I don't really know what happens after they catch up with Lovely. Do they descide to keep in touch with the Solaire clan or do they go back to their normal life? Does Lovely tell them about the whole electric energetic thing? Do they befriend the other vampires? I don't know! I haven't decided yet.

Methuselah

I'm trying to figure out what this fool's nickname would be besides just Meth.

I thought to myself "what was the first de(a)mon created like? What are they doing?" So I started brainstorming ideas until they eventually became an oc.

So Methuselah (named after the oldest known star, I wanted to be the first star given a name but all that popped up was the oldest star), an inchoate, the first created demon, the one who has lived for thousands of years, fought in the cacophony and created the chorus and serve as kind of a makeshift leader of it.

Some may say that Meth here is what you would call a mary sue but you know as they say when I create a character that's the world's best assassin, a science experiment possessed by a god of anger who has a corrupted form that slowly kills them when they use it, they get called a Mary Sue, but when Asagiri Kafka does it it's "I love Chuuya Nakahara!!"

If Taurus is jaded by his long ongoing life Methuselah is the most jaded of them all. Just basically barely cares about the things going around them. Even if they did care about keeping relationships everyone except some of the chorus members is scared of them due to their overwhelming power, both magical and political.

When the ruling council descided to include de(a)mons in it they were the first demon asked if they would want to join as a representative for inchoate demons their response was to spit in their face and say "was that the answer you were looking for?"

I imagine that they are currently dealing with the whole Hush situation, and that in the first time in thousands of years, they're scared of death. After the cacophony in which they almost died, saw many deaths including the death of their first and only friend, they thought that if another life threatening situation occurred they wouldn't be scared to die for the cause, but now that they're faced with a person that is not only stronger than them but could kill them in a second, they're scared of death after so many years of being untouchable.

Miles Deen

One time, my lovely mutual @cyc-chilla once said in a post about wether or not redacted characters get biches, that Frederick only seems to attract extremely shady and terribly shifty dumpster opossum men, and I thought to myself "he absolutely does"

So Miles Deen was born.

If you identify as a garbage dwelling raccoon trash goblin you obviously haven't met Miles

The icon of the two bandaids and the description of "the thrall" doesn't encapsulate him well enough, it should've been an icon of a garbage can and he should've been titled "the trash dweller" if I wanted to be accurate.

Basically, Miles is an informed unempowered guy who was a couple of years ago attacked by a shade, but instead of having all of his life force drained, he only got half of his life force drained and later found out via seer that he would only live to 27 (he's currently 25, 21 when he found out)

He's also homeless because he got kicked out of his parents house after he couldn't find a job due to his clinical depression, so as you can imagine his life wasn't looking too good.

But, he descided to keep living and use the fact that he's going to die young as a motivator to live without fear and also made a bucket list of things he wanted to do before he died.

One of those things was being fed on by a vamp, and that is how he finds himself on Solaire clan territory and is found by Fred. The rest is history.

Fred is convinced he is insane but he kinda likes that about him. Bright eyes does not like him at all.

He somehow always gets himself into trouble and then the clan is forced to protect him in all kinds of batshit situations.

If he was actually on the redacted channel, he'd probably never appear or would maybe be mentioned by name once, just because I descided to make a character for a deleted discontinued series.

Sadly, I think his story probably would end with him dying peacefully in his sleep, since he wouldn't want to get turned and him getting turned would be kinda a stupid thing writing wise since it's kinda stupid to build up the idea of a character dying only to have them live anyway (and his whole character is built on the idea that he's going to die young)

Ezra Solaire

One day, I thought to myself "Christian needs a gay awakening" and so he did.

Ezra is a cayote shifter and part of the Solaire clan, raised by William since birth.

He seems very sweet, and he is but he's also brutally honest.

He'd never let a vamp feed on him (William even set up that you are to be executed if you attempt to feed on him without his permission) but he does donate blood to the clan often. He has so many "I donated blood" stickers.

I imagine he's friends with Darlin', which is how he ended up meeting the Shaw pack

I keep thinking about what his talk with William would be like after the summit, cause it would be absolutely heartbreaking

Because I imagine Ezra was one of the people that wasn't told about the plan, so with Ezra who just wanted a normal life, now learning that the Solaire clan which they already didn't like being in since about 90% of the clan didn't like them, is/is going to become some sort of vigilante assassin squad and also feeling like their relationship with the Shaw pack is destroyed, the place where they actually felt like they had a normal life and a family, I can only imagine how upset they'd be.

But on the other hand, William is like a father to him and he couldn't imagine how it would be to leave him, and he'd also be leaving behind the few people he was close friends with in the clan (like Vincent) and he also wouldn't think it would be right to have William supporting him financially with a house and a job when he was leaving the clan, so he would have not only have his financial and social support cut, but also physical since, I forgot to mention but, he has multiple sclerosis and is disabled, so he sometimes needs a caregiver to help him do everyday tasks (which would usually be by William, Vincent or an assistant William hired). So yeah, I can only imagine how he must feel.

Atlas Madden

To be completely transparent, I did create Atlas just to ship him with Scorpius. I know I'm cringe but I'm free

Atlas is a freelancer who works as a healer, but also has an interest in water magic and shifter magic. How is a non-shifter good at shifter magic? He isn't! He likes morphing into a disturbing half wolf half human creature and scaring people in it!

So umm I may have brainstormed Scorpiuses backstory on a whim by accident...whoops...hate when that happens

So going forward any Scorpius lore I drop is my headcannons and not actual lore

I swear this is important to Atlas

Okay so: I imagine that before being captured by close knit Scorpius worked in this kind of strip club where the whole shtick was that incubi were the strippers. The strippers weren't also escorts but if they chose you you could potentially go home with them.

That's how Scorpius and Atlas met.

Atlases friends brought him to this strip club mostly as a joke and Atlas was kinda uncomfortable the whole time.

Until he caught Scorpiuses eye, who then decided to enact his flirt persona and bring him home.

After that, Atlas eventually became his charge and they would meet every so often.

They both agreed for no strings attached, Scorpius didn't really like hookup culture but needed to get energy one way or another, but Atlas wanted him to know that he respected him as a person and wanted them to be at least friends.

One day, Atlas pushed the friendliness a little too far and Scorpius told him that he doesn't need to try to appeal to him so he could feel like a good person. Atlas got offended by this because he really just wanted to be nice, not because he wanted to pat himself on the back.

An argument ensued and Scorpius left without getting an energy feeding. He went on, trying to find somebody else to feed on, and that is when he gets tricked and captured by close knit. With no way to communicate to Atlas, Atlas believes Scorpius left him for good.

I have a lot more planned out for them but that takes place after Scorpius leaves the basement, which as you can see he hasn't yet, so I'm obviously waiting til that happens so I'm not writing lore for something that hasn't happened yet.

it’s far from complete in terms of how i want each character to work, but i thought i’d share my concepts for how each ‘species’ / empowerment (that we’re familiar with) works.

also! in-universe i like to think werewolves, vampires, all the rest still have their abilities, it’s just considered a primary or secondary factor to their weapon/meister status.

THIS IS LONG. everything under the cut!

werewolves — usually weapons. if they’re meisters, they’re very in-tune with their soul, and can use wavelength control pretty well (usually as melee attacks- something where one utilises their wavelength and pulses it against someone, creating force).

werewolves fit best as weapons because shifting comes naturally. they can go in and out of weapon form much swifter than other weapons, being quicker than non-werewolf weapons.

werewolf souls are identifiable. a person who can see souls/use soul perception (usually always meisters) can tell if someone’s a werewolf when seeing their soul.

vampires — kinda tricky. they have stronger wavelengths and are almost impossible to match with if you aren’t a vampire (it IS possible… just difficult as hell). vampire souls are a unique sort of soul, since they’re technically dead but continue living. their soul falls under a weird purgatory state.

if someone consumes a vampire soul, they’ll become a vampire themselves. this causes a lot of people to avoid hunting vampire-type kishin souls (vampire souls that have consumed so many human souls they became a kishin, a creature that is capable of horrible power and tries destroying/eating everything around them).

vampire weapons tend to be heavier, stronger, and all around sturdy. this links back to how usually other vampires wield vampire weapons.

note: vampires (or, in the soul eater universe, ‘bloodsuckers’) exist in soul eater, but because their way of life and abilities are different from redactedverse, i chose not to use them.

demons — demons fall into two categories, always. i’ll use gavin and caelum as an example. demons can either be ‘demon weapons’, or ‘monster souls’.

gavin is a demon weapon, able to change his weapon form at will (unlike other weapons that hold one form).

caelum has a monster soul, meaning he has unique powers and characteristics. monster souls can be, but aren’t always, malevolent. this means caelum is pretty much the same as he is in canon, but has an easier time using transformation magic (see: blair, a cat monster, who can transform into a human form).

demons are never meisters. i play into the fact that demons ‘need’ to feed from humans, and paired with it, they need them as meisters, too. a demon cannot wield another demon.

demon souls are also much bigger than human souls, signifying their power and inhumanity.

freelancers — freelancers have souls and wavelengths that are easily compatible. it doesn't really matter on whether the freelancer is a humanborn or not. depending on what element or magic the freelancer is most proficient in, during soul resonance (explained below at elementals) that magic will be prevelant.

elementals — elementals tend to have rather significant souls. weaker meisters who use soul perception can see them rather clearly. their soul takes on the form of their dominant element (for example, damien’s soul appears ablaze).

elementals, when using ‘soul resonance’ (an ability that, when used by both weapon and meister, amplifies ability and strength) often show their element. for example, if freelancer used lasko during soul resonance, air would be part of their attacks.

seers — seers can see souls easily (soul perception). it comes with being a seer. this means, typically, all seers are meisters.

seer obscura see souls practically all the time. the obscurity, though, makes it so that seer obscuras cannot be compatible with any meister or weapon in wavelength.

telepaths — pretty simple, telepaths can use their telepathic ability whilst them or their partner are in weapon form. it doesn’t change. i also like to think telepaths have pretty defined souls, meaning that as long as someone has an in-tact soul, it’s easy to meet their wavelength.

stealths — also pretty simple. if they’re a weapon, they can turn invisible/intangible whilst in weapon form.

i’ve made sweetheart a meister for weapon milo, but this is pretty cool to me anyway, because imagine them wielding him whilst invisible themselves? a floating weapon coming at you … woa

humanborn/magicborn nonsense — humanborns have weaker but more compatible souls. magicborns are the opposite, having stronger but less compatible souls. magicborns are stereotyped to seek humanborns as their weapon/meister partner.

empowered types that have no difference when it comes to weapon/meister ability (or other):

• dreamwalkers

• energetics (work the same as elementals!)

• any other empowered types we haven’t seen enough of for me to gather an opinion of (illusory/warders/etc)

deathwalkers are something i’m still trying to work on … tempted to have it so that they have a fraction of lord death, the reaper’s, soul within their own, or if they should have a lack of soul overall, but maybe someone can help me in terms of that? ^^ idkidk

Context: ~ You and your dream walker best friend from high school decide to catch up at a local bakery. (Devil's Foodcake is the name of the bakery... it's a bakery that belongs to my OC 'Sugar' WHOM WAS ORIGIALLY NAMED SWEETIE BEFORE SOMEBODY *cough* ERIK-) You both catch up on your recent lives... and you've been through shit- Meanwhile he works for the department and is planning to help you out a lil bit. (just british lasko mixed with a calmer elliott?)

These are a bit repetitive and all over the place have mercy. lol

● Lasko has those glasses chains that only grandmas have. Its made outta seaglass and pearls cause he's gotta look classy.

○ Bonus if his listener gave it to him and hand beaded it.

● Freelancer is diagnosed with thalassophobia. (The fear of the ocean specifically).

● Humanborns are inherently shifters.

● Other shifters can either have humanborn parents or it just runs in the family.

● Sirens are the d(a)emon stand ins

● There is a ocean Aria! It's deeper than any normal merfolk can go but sirens have a higher pressure tolerance (like blobfish) so thats why they can live down there.

○ They use magic and wards to mask it, as well as most sirens just using a rift to get to the surface.

○ Imagine humans finally having the ability to explore the Mariana trench and are met with magic that makes em forget it.

● Empathy sirens don't come up to the surface a lot but when they do they usually cloak themselves.

● Different sirens sing different songs that inflict different emotions on humans.

○ They do shift into a human form (Gavin doesn't cause his whole "I'm not shifting for others" thing ofc)

● Idk much abt Aria (I tuned out during Gav's ramblings) but the Chorus for this world's Aria is made up of siren royalty.

● Hux is not a shifter, Damien, Lasko, and FL are shifters, Gavin and Caelum are Sirens.

○ Hux is a whale shark merfolk. Damien is some kinda wierd serpenty water snek shifter. Lasko is a goofy lil' Jellyfish shifter.

○ Lasko shocks people when he gets nervous (on accident ofc)

● All of the Shaw pack are dogfish shark shifters.

○ The unempowered mates aren't buuut SH is an octopus shifter bc camoflage!!!

● Freelancers in this world can turn into any kind of merfolk they want. It would take a big tole on them, though.

○ Freelancers cannot shift into any merfolk with extra special powers. So no sirens, squids, or whales.

●Whale merfolk can get bigger and smaller depending on what they need.

● Unless previously empowered, vampires are now squid shifters.

○ They are the only ones that have the power to turn anyone into a squid shifter. (It does bring em back once they die.)

● Lovely is an eel shifter ofc (once they get turned they can shift into a vampire squid too)

● Sam can shift into anything ofc, but once he gets turned theres a new one added to that pile. It takes even more of a tole on him to shift too much in one day now though.

● Clans and packs are wierd now

○ Theres also schools... So schools of merfolk are just normal ranking citizen groups. Typically they don't have humaborns, but are fine with normal shifters.

○ Packs are above that, and are made up of any species of shark. Sharks can go off on their own, but are expected to join/make a pack at one point in their life.

○ Clans are the highest ranking, and consist of any kinds of merfolk as long as they are squid shifters. It is fairly uncommon for squid shifters to not be apart of a clan. Infact, its required by the department for every squid shifter to be associated with a clan.

● The inversion was easy to cover up since it happened underwater.

● Siren's songs have varying effects depending on what you are.

○ Full effect on humans

○ Half effect on shifters

○ Zero effect on merfolk

● The Gavin and Vega fight was done underwater while FL brought Caelum to safety on land.

○ Vega is 100% more used to being on land than Gavin so it wasn't really safety but uh- whatever-

● FL prefers to be with their friends because they still live with their parents. Thing is, they hate swimming in the ocean.

○ To try and fix that, Hux started helping them learn to swim in the little cave that they met Gav in.

○ Took almost half a year for FL to finally gain the confidence to go out into the ocean. They loved and hated it at the same time. But they still wouldn't go any deeper than the reef.

● Lasko and FL taught Damien how to shift and showed him around the land.

● Gavin finally got to spend some actual time with FL when they started going down further to ocean dahlia.

○ Lets just say things got spicy...

● The new wierd abandoned carnival place is a beach that is closed of for safety.

● Sam lives underwater bit away from underwater dahlia.

● Tank moved into underwater dahlia when they came back from Washington.

● Asher and David live on land.

● Milo lives on land but moves into underwater dahlia when he meets SH.

● Vincent lives underwater but moves on land when he meets lovely.

○ After lovely is turned they move underwater.

Shawpack and Solaire clan stories would be pretty much the same but I had to write a bit more abt the damn fam to get my thoughts straight. Random Redacted Headcannons from my AU and Listener OC's

Angel and Starlight are siblings, Angel is the older one

Also, Angel is older than David by like, 2 years, and loves it.

Sweetheart is actually from Georgia but lost their accent after moving away for college. It rarely ever comes out. The first time it does it when they get possed off at Christian at a solstice party for making fun of Milo's height and the most vicious 'bless your heart' falls from their lips. Everyone's in shock.

Sidenote, Sam was there and was smirking because just from those three words in a thick ass accent, he could pinpoint where Sweetheart grew up almost down to the city.

Darlin first shifted during a really bad bout of the flu and didn't even know it. But they'd been next door neighbors with Angel and they made sure their pregnant mom didn't see their friend going back and forth between human and a very small wolf.

Angel is hard of hearing and wears hearing aids, they taught the selectively mute darlin ASL.

(Angel is also a navy brat and retired marine, an accident meant they couldn't continue to serve, its why they have a hard time sleeping during storms.)

Damian also lives across the street from them, his single mom and him lived with his aunt and uncle (navy) until he was in highschool.

Freelancer's best friend outside of the gang from DAMN graduated their first semester but they still talk. It's Cutie.

Freelancer is a very proud genderfluid person and has short little sibling energy, they only chill out in certain situations or in the presence of Angel. (No one really knows why, but that's their big sister now)

Baabe, never to be forgotten, is black. No I don't take criticism. But whenever they redo their hairstyle, Asher helps. (They sort of showed him but he also secretly went to a hair parlor to learn how to do it too.)

Baabe is also a business owner. They're an enigneer/mechanic and do large scale cosplay commissions for the most part. LIke moving things like wings and tails and even tails that are connected to a heart moniter to react to emotions and ears that react to sound and move accordingly.

They went to college with a dude named Marcus, who they haven't heard from since turning down an offer he also got for some secret project.

Angel has the uncanny ability to mimic people's accents

Freelancer is an amazing dancer, loved it to death, and knows all kinds of types from different neighbors they had growing up. This including Classic Indian Bellydancing from a gypsy, bollywood style dancing from the same person, West Coast Swing, Lindy, Ballroom Dancing, both Two Step and Square Dancing, Hula, and Raqs Sharqi from an old middle eastern woman and her daughter. The only she knows of and about but hasn't learned is a Native American dance from a family who'd introduced her to their Tribe when she got lost hiking once and didn't actually learn it out of respect for them after seeing it that night before they took her home the next day.

Cutie is an interior designer and uses their powers to make sure they get what looks good but what the client wants. They've been known to take odd jobs on the side though for empowered people and worked with Shaw Pack Security a few times with high risk jobs that they didn't have much info on.

Starlight and Angel are mixed, their mom is half Brazilian (she was a baby of convince and never learned about her other culture), and while Angel looks pretty mixed, Starlight look just like their mom and studied in Brazil for a while, having the urge to learn about their heritage that Angel never really had.

Starlight is humanborn and has no idea their older sibling knew about empowered people, so despite being super close as kids, they drifted apart when their powers manifested since it was a secret thing. They got pulled in with Avior while going to visit Angel, wanting to rekindle their relationship.

Avior started calling them Starlight because they love mythology, but astronomy (the myths behind them speciffically) is a huge love of theirs.

I posted this on twitter and I wanted to post it here too cuz I'm a menace idk LMAO heres my (bad) opinions about most Redacted characters. Feel free to talk / disagree with me in fact its encouraged if you wanna!!

Vincent: I like him as a character much more than his plot. "Lovely gets hurt. He has to save them." Repeat til death... actually, continue to repeat post death. While at the same time being similar enough to the freelancer storyline for me to notice (flirtatious immortal magic user who doesnt understand boundaries helps humanborn magic user navigate the magical world, ft being taken advantage of by someone else because of their lack of knowledge, going to damn, etc etc). I really do love him as a character, though, he is so dang sweet, his nightmare comfort is one of my favorites and his character development was great I luv him

Sam: My comfort character, my favorite! I struggle with this because since I joined the fandom, and since the honor of comfort character was bestowed upon him, he has changed a lot, and his original plotline has been neglected imo. Also the jokes about him being old (he is a singular year older than vincent) and a cowboy (he has a southern accent) were never a thing earlier on and honestly they kind of bother me, just cuz they dont make sense to me. If it was occasional that would be fine, but it's become the punchline of every joke? Truly I think my issues started when they became mates, simply because that was a Bonus Audio. Sam set a boundary and then went to bone town in his very next standalone vid. It felt really rushed and unneeded. Maybe I just found comfort in the fact that neither him nor the listener were being sexualized. The one after it was spice too. The fact that imp!Sam exists, that it is a possibility for him to be the way he is there if circumstances were different, alone confuses me and makes me think I've misinterpreted his character. Despite all of that, I love him very very much. The first half of his storyline is amazing and I really hope they bring it back full throttle. The struggle for trust between him and darlin and them becoming partners despite their circumstances is really cool. Both of them being rough and tough and unfeeling on the outside but truly soft and gentle and touch starved 😭😭❤... I love them dearly, especially as a concept and their potential and I cant wait to see more of them and I want them to have a good ending even if I literally cant conceptualize a happy ending for them LMAO

Adam: ... my skrunkly.. I absolutely adore the idea that went into him, and like... his character idk hes just so cool. One of my favorites even if short lived

David: hmmm hmmm... I like him a lot. The beginning of his playlist bothers me, and his talk with Darlin was iffy, but if you get past that stuff, I do really appreciate him. Hes very good. I want to see him sad more I love his angsty stuff and his voice is nice to listen to

Asher: his voice is a cheese grater to my brain. He is my favorite wolf despite this. Before the inversion, I wasn't 100% sold on him, but during and after it? Hes just so good and genuine and soft and I am so down, even if his voice took a second to adjust to. I don't have much to say here simply because hes just very good

Milo: hes good! I didnt pay a ton of attention to him, admittedly. I wish sweetheart got some more focus, theres such a great opportunity there to clarify some stuff about the department

Caelum: please I have a 6 year old brother I dont need another one

Gavin: I struggle with Gavin a LITTLE bit, especially earlier Gavin, but more recently I really love him. Especially during and after the inversion. Hes so soft and he cares so dang much

Avior: My second favorite character! Hes SO good I think the story has slowed down recently and I just want to KNOW but also, I dont mind too too much. Hes the character who holds the most of my favorite videos. I just want them to be happy so bad. I relate to him the very most. Hes never done anything wrong in his life. Actually he has but I understand why he did it too much to possibly judge him for it. 10/10 I adore his storyline and his listener and their relationship and I just want everything to be okay for them and I want to see more fluff from him so bad 😭😭 I think he is easily one of the most well written characters and best plot lines, but the stuff after his confession so far couldve been consolidated / shortened and been just as effective

Regulus: Empathy daemons in general being compared to children worries me too much to watch his videos. I have lots of thoughts about (empathy) daemon ages and how they work but I have no idea what's canon and that in and of itself is the problem

Vega: My third favorite! Absolute love of my life I loved him before anyone else fuk u guys prime Vega is perfect (/j) and I am SO excited to see where his story goes I love being manipulated I love how hes a total monster but hes so chill about it he has gaslit me into thinking hes a good person and I'm cool with it I love him so much hes probably my favorite to listen to he is very well written and his voice is so soothing 10/10

Alexis: Unpopular opinion time: She did nothing wrong. Sam is absolutely allowed to be upset, hes allowed to be pissed, hes allowed to never forgive her. He can feel whatever he needs to to get through what happened to him. She did nothing wrong and I will die on this hill. Maybe she should've given him longer to try to save himself. Maybe she could've been more gentle. They were BOTH panicking. They were both in shock. Vincent was turned against his will under very similar circumstances. He hated william for it. But we dont villainize William, in fact we praise him for saving Vincent. For all we know, Alexis has a very positive relationship with being a vampire and her own turning, and didnt really understand the gravity of the change she was about to put him through. I'm not saying shes a perfect character with no flaws, or that we should praise her, but she did a perfectly human thing. I dont see how saving someone you love and then never ever pushing when they dont want to see you again could possibly mean she had bad intentions or is a bad person

Their fellow peers were all born into empowered families—born into the knowledge and culture Tank knew nothing about and when they asked, they got looked at like they were dumb

Not to mention anything related to them being born into an uninformed family, can you think of the hell that was their first shift? Do you think tank’s parents took their new found ability in stride? Did they curse and condemn tank? Did they call tank a monster out of ignorance?

How long did it take for Tanks parents to find others like them? Did they force tank into hiding? Was it for tank’s protection? Was it for their own convenience?

redacted brainrot my beloved <3 anyway, i have a hypothesis about the meridian, the weavers, etc etc. this would probably not make a lot of sense but i wanted to share.

ursula k le guin has a short story— quite a common one— called ‘the ones who walk away from omelas’ and it reminds me of how avior described the meridian. he says it's like a cloth through which magic can flow, and if the river is actually not just a bridge connecting life and death (?) but is a part of the meridian, it would mean that when brachium felt a dark power seeping through the river, he may be hinting (intentionally or not, i've no clue) that the weavers are trying to escape. the ones who walk away from omelas is a short story about a city where happiness is everywhere underneath which a child is forced to live in misery because the joy of omelas is contingent upon the suffering of this one child. this may be similar to the weavers, their magic, and the meridian. the meridian's constant desperate attempt at pulling starlight into itself may just be the weavers asking them to help them out, or they need star's magic and strength to get themselves out of there, or something along those lines.

in the short story, they're trying to maintain happiness in the city. in the redactness, they (? i have no idea who they are) may be containing magic, protecting it, or... something like that. but what's clear is (well, for this theory) : omela's happiness = redactedverse's magic.

if the weavers are forced to live trapped underneath the river, it may be because they provide/provided magic for present time's magic users, starlight being a major part of it as a freelancer (because the depth of freelancer magic is quite wide, as we know it) and, in many theories, a descendant of said weavers.

or it may be because their release would erase the limits of magic that belongs to those who aren't demons/daemons. even humanborn magic-users would be limitless. or would the meridian fall if the weavers are let out? it was stated that if ever the meridian is damaged too much, it can destroy both elegy and aria. can the weavers beneath the river (?) damage the meridian by trying to let themselves out? or are the magic users above sending themselves to their own doom? are the weavers just ascendants of present magic users, or are they sources of magic until the present day who are trapped somewhere?

i feel like my brain is being fucked raw right now.

oh my godddd this is SO sick. ive never read the story you mentioned but im in love with the way you connected it and the weavers. ill have to check it out sometime.

(im going to be using the term weavers and sovereigns interchangeably so stick with me here. weavers = sovereigns).

the weavers have been such a mystery in canon redacted lore, i think it can even be argued that "the weavers" are the sovereigns. the term "weavers" is not even a thing in d(a)emon culture, it was made up by closeknit. i always wondered how the sovereigns would play a role in the canon and going off of the theory that they're being imprisoned - not in aria, but under the river is fascinating.

brachium talks to a disembodied voice and refers to what it has done as a harvest. a feast, even. we're left to speculate what this being is harvesting all these souls for and honestly? it seems like it's gaining energy for something bigger (like the weavers breaking out).

let's circle back to closeknit and the balance plot-line for a second here. closeknit interfered with elliott and sunshine's plans for whatever reason. they didn't want those two stopping what was to come (the inversion). they believe that the weavers are this positive force that protected humanity from d(a)emons and closeknit is not discreet about their opinions on d(a)emonkind. i personally believe that closeknit used the inversion to feed whatever weaver/sovereign(s) is being kept underneath the river. they want this thing to be freed to grant unlimited power to human beings bc closeknit believes that's what the weavers can do. blake eludes to this, and i think zeke did as well.

i feel as that we're all building up to the release/escape of whatever's underneath the river. closeknit feeding it life force due to the inversion, starlight feeling drawn to the meridian and wanting to know "what it is", vega talking to warden about finding another source of food once humans go extinct (and we know what d(a)emons fed on before human emotion bc of the imperium), project meridian which is hands down - one of the most mysterious plot lines we have on the channel (why is it named that????)

now what do i think is going to happen once the weavers/sovereigns escape? i don't think doomsday bc the meridian isn't as weakened was it was in the imperium. people don't use magic that way in canon - it's much more regulated and not as abused. i mean, look at avior and starlight for example. when they punch holes in the meridian, it fixes itself. they can't pass through the meridian bc of how unyielding it is (save for their arms stretched out).

i believe that if the weavers/sovereigns escape, it's going to be a case of humankind (closeknit) asking for mercy (in this case, power) from unforgiving gods. closeknit wants the powers they believe the weavers to grant. but who's to say that that's something the weavers promise to give? if they're trapped underneath the river and their response to having connection to elegy is killing 1500+ people as a means of consumption, who's to say that humans are something they want the best for? so, maybe not end of the world, but maybeee apocalypse? or maybeee demonic uprising since demons would realize that the weavers/sovereigns are providing them energy and are like "hey, we don't need humans anymore" (cough cough vega).
