Hi Tumblr, I made some poetry. Some talking stuff under the cut after the poem.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I wrote it in the P.O.V. of Regulus Black about James Potter, but you can see it as whatever. I’m open to interpretation. I really enjoy writing poetry and tbh I should probably post more of my poetry. Usually the poems are fandom based but sometimes it’s my own experiences. So yea, :)

Making a new friend: Part 2:
A little story of how Regulus and Barty became friends. Muggle AU.
Check out part 1.
Regulus' P.O.V:
Regulus really hated talking in public. He actually hated talking at all. If there was something he wanted to communicate, he wished there was another way. There was this tendency that Regulus had. Everytime he said something, he over-thought about it for a while. What he should've said or not said. Or how he should’ve said it, and the volume of his voice, or the movements of his hands. It was actually exhausting.
Anyway Regulus had to do it right now for his class. His palms were sweating which caused an itchy sensation when he rubbed them on his pants. The worst part was that he was alone. Barty was nowhere to be seen.
Regulus had hoped he had made a friend. All the other kids bombarded him with questions about his family. Or thought he was too weird and serious. Many of them had said that Regulus “didn’t know how to have fun”, but Regulus didn’t understand why they said that.
Barty hadn’t done any of those things. Barty never asked about his family, about his cousins and how pretty they were, or about Sirius and how he caused mischief since he arrived at Hogwarts. Barty never called him weird.
Regulus knew they only met up twice to do the assignment. But Regulus ended up having fun explaining Barty about history, because he liked that subject. Old times were his thing. Regulus had been born at the wrong time. Regulus didn’t know what a friend was. But he thought Barty was one.
But Regulus hadn’t seen him all day. And he left him alone in this. When Regulus passed to the front, thinking he could do this on his own, he froze and stuttered. Then he got so angry when his classmates laughed that he ran away without listening to the teacher for the first time.
Then Regulus cried in the bathroom holding his own sweater because his koala teddy was in his room and it was too far away. He didn’t cry because of the humiliation. He cried because he would never be able to make a friend like Sirius did.
It wasn’t the same with Sirius anymore. Regulus noticed that Sirius didn’t like spending time with him. Regulus spent time with Sirius’ friends because he didn’t have anyone else. And Sirius had said “This is my brother, lads. The best pranksters’ helper ever! He would do well with The Marauders”. Regulus had smiled because he thought he meant it. But perhaps he didn’t.
Like that afternoon, when Regulus went to sit with them at lunch. The four of them stopped talking when Regulus sat down. Regulus found that odd, so he raised an eyebrow.
It was worse, because they began talking about something else. Regulus ignored them because he was sad and grumpy. He poured himself some juice. Always a sip of juice before eating.
“How was your day, Reggie?” Sirius asked with a grin on his face.
 Regulus shrugged.
“No luck making friends, ha?” James said. That made Regulus’ eyes get watery. “Let me give you some advice…” James continued. But Regulus didn’t care because he was already crying “You just approach someone and say ‘Hey mate, I am Regulus Black, want to be my mate?...”
 “James…” Remus murmured.
“You just ask them questions about their family and hobbies, maybe they like the same thing as you…”
 “James…” Remus said louder.
James stopped and Regulus was grateful.
“Oh shit Reggie. I am sorry…” James added “Here, have some chocolate” he gave him the bar putting his glasses up, then he stopped talking.
 “Was that mine?” Remus asked.
“Nicked it from your drawer this morning…” he grinned “Sorry, Remus…” Remus made a face “But now Regulus can have it because he is sad”
Regulus didn’t like chocolate with nuts in it.
“OH REGGIE!” Sirius exclaimed putting an arm around Regulus’ shoulder “You shouldn’t cry. You are not a little boy anymore. How embarrassing…”
That made Regulus cry even more. Sirius always treated him like a baby and Regulus had been trying to prove he had grown and matured. Like Sirius said he had.
“Sirius….” Remus tutted quietly “That’s not a nice thing to say”
“What? He is eleven!” Sirius said. If his friends knew he cried just that summer.
“I honestly don’t know what to do when somebody is crying” Peter added nervously.
“What happened, mate?” James asked, leaning closer. Too close. That made Regulus more anxious.
Maybe Remus noticed, because he pushed James back to his seat. “OUCH!” he even protested.
Regulus pushed Sirius away. His arm’s weight was suffocating him.
Regulus took a few sniffs to calm himself down.
“I have a friend,” Regulus said softly as he played with his sleeves. “I had a friend” he added mostly as a whisper.
“That’s great, Reggie!” Sirius exclaimed “Now you can go and hang out with them, because we have plans to do”
Regulus noticed he pointed at his three friends. So that didn’t include him.
“Sirius…” Remus protested, then he turned to Regulus “It is okay. You can stay” he smiled politely.
“Amm….” Regulus swallowed “I don’t know where he is”
“What is his name? Maybe we can help you…” James added.
 “Barty” he said “Bartemius Crouch”
“The Lord Chancellor?” Peter blinked hard.
“Maybe his son, Peter” Sirius tutted.
 “Right” Peter blushed.
Regulus nodded “Barty… He never came to give the History presentation with me. And he missed the next classes”
“Maybe he is sick” Remus suggested “I went to the nursery earlier today to get something…”
 “What?” Sirius asked curiously.
“Some painkillers” Remus answered “And I saw a couple of kids… OH!”
The last scream made everyone jump, even Regulus.
“Jesus, Remus. What happened?” James asked, grabbing his chest.
“I saw a first year there” Remus talked directly to Regulus, So Regulus had to look down to his sleeves again “Maybe he was your friend…” he made a pause “And for the look of it he isn’t well. He has a black eye…”
“WHAT?” Regulus asked, rising from his chair.
“Reg…” Sirius tried but Regulus didn’t care. He was already running outside. Towards the Infirmary.

*********************************************
Regulus had that feeling when Sirius got into trouble, when he got punished, and was locked in his room. And Regulus couldn’t do anything. Maybe it was worry. Regulus didn’t know. But this feeling was terrible. What could have possibly happened with Barty? Why did he have a black eye? Did Regulus care this much because Barty was his friend?
Regulus knocked on the Infirmary’s door, out of breath.
“Come in…” a voice said from inside. Madam Pomfrey.
Regulus opened the door and stepped in. He must’ve looked pale and bad because Madam Pomfrey stood up to revise him.
 “Are you okay, sweetheart?”
 “I’m looking for…” Regulus said, catching his breath “… Barty… Barty Crouch…”
“Oh…” Madam Pomfrey gave him a sweet smile “He is over there”
She pointed to one of the beds that had the curtains shut. Regulus approached carefully. On his way he heard some noises and a soft curse.
 “Barty?”
 No answer.
Regulus hesitated before opening the curtain, but he did it anyway. The first thing he saw was a big pillow covering someone’s face. Barty 's. Barty had his legs crossed out, sitting in the bed. Next to him at the side table was a glass of water with some pills.
“I just have a headache” Barty mumbled against the pillow “Go away!”
Regulus ignored him. He sat at the side of the bed, he extended his arms and he carefully removed the pillow from Barty’s face.
Regulus’ first thought was that he needed to react, scream, gasp, ask Barty something. But Regulus just observed, blinking hard. Barty’s eye was green, kind of purple. But it didn’t look that bad. It would heal quickly. Regulus knew about these things. Sirius got injured mostly everyday. And it was Samantha, The Blacks’ cook who cured him before their parents noticed.
“Does it hurt?” That was the first question.
Barty shrugged. Of course it hurt based on the pills.
 “What happened?”
 “I tripped”
Barty was avoiding Regulus’ gaze. Which made it easier for Regulus to look at the wound. Thinking about what might’ve happened.
 “I don’t believe you”
Barty frowned for a second but then he crossed his arms.
 “It is what happened!”
“That 's not true!” Regulus answered “Wounds like that are caused by a punch. If you would’ve fallen, you would’ve broken an arm or a leg… But not get a black eye…”
“Oh yeah?” Barty asked, defensively “And how do you know all of that?”
Regulus opened his mouth. He was gonna say he had seen the same wound on Sirius’ face once. After father hit him. But he didn’t dare.
“I just know” Regulus looked down embarrassed. Now Barty was looking at him curiously.
“I deserve to know what happened” Regulus insisted “I am your…” Friend? Regulus wasn’t sure. “You stood me up for the presentation”
Barty sighed and licked his lips, as if he was thinking something.
“I am sorry! I didn’t plan to stand you up” he said embarrassed “Those bastards…”
Regulus raised an eyebrow when Barty stopped. So Barty got into a fight. And he didn’t want to tell him.
 “Who?”
 Barty sighed.
“They were talking badly about you and your family, then I got so angry that I kicked one of them in the balls”
Regulus was used to people talking about him and his family. It was the prize of being a public figure. That’s why mother said they needed to be impeccable, so people wouldn’t talk shit about them.
Regulus didn’t want to know who talked about him.
“You kicked them in the balls?”
 “Yeah the balls”
Regulus smiled. Barty did it as well. Just for a second.
“And then they punched and hit me in revenge” Barty shrugged “It was nothing”
Regulus sniffed “Why did you do that for me?”
Regulus was used to Sirius taking care of him, protecting him and defending him. But he did that because he was Regulus’ older brother. But Barty didn’t even know him properly. So it was odd.
 “Well obviously because you’re my…”
 Were they truly friends?
“I just hate dicks that talk shit about people behind their backs…” Barty’s cheeks were turning red, and Regulus wanted to know why. He kept staring at him hoping to get an answer.
“Nobody had done that for me” Regulus said “Well my brother… But he is my brother” he shrugged as if it was obvious “And you are my…”
Barty moved nervously on his seat.
“Maybe we are friends” Regulus blushed when he said this.
“We… we barely know each other” Barty said looking down.
“I am Regulus…” he began nervously  “I am a Black… I am Cancer… I am autistic and my favorite color is green”
Barty’s eyes moved delicately towards Regulus. Regulus thought he was supposed to say those things to a friend.
“You are the son of The Lord Chancellor, right?”
“What about that?” Barty asked defensively.
Regulus shrugged “It is the only thing I know about you”
Barty twisted his mouth and then he sighed.
“My favorite color is red…” he began “I don’t like my father…”
 Regulus sighed relieved.
“I don’t like my father either”
 Barty smiled then he continued.
“I am a Sagittarius and my Birthday is today”
 “Today is your birthday?”
 Barty nodded embarrassed.
Regulus blinked “And you are spending it in The Infirmary because of me?”
“It is not your fault” Barty smiled softly.
 Regulus smiled as well.
 “Thank you… For defending me”
 Barty shrugged.
“So we have things in common…”
 Barty raised an eyebrow.
“We are Slytherins. We share a dorm. We don’t have friends and we don’t like our fathers…”
 “Your mother?”
 “She is alright”
 “Mine is bonkers”
That made Regulus giggle. Barty did it as well.
Barty opened his mouth, he wanted to say something but he hesitated. But then he said:
“Maybe Hogwarts is not bad… Maybe it is not that bad with you”
Barty got scarlet red as he said this. But Regulus was glad he said it.
“Maybe Hogwarts is not that bad if I have a friend like you”
Barty smiled “So now we are friends, ha?”
Regulus nodded “I think we are”
 Barty shrugged “Okay”
 “Okay”
Barty smiled relieved. Regulus did it as well. He had no idea what to do now. How to have a friend. But at least it was better this way. Regulus felt more relieved.
“Here…” Regulus took out something from his pocket. The chocolate James had given him “Happy Birthday!”
 Barty smiled, grabbing it.
 “Cheers, Reg”
Barty rubbed his hair and he opened the chocolate wrapper. Regulus hated when Sirius ruffled his hair. But this time it was alright, because a friend had done it. Finally Regulus had a friend.

Chapter 11// Chapter 13
Tumblr media
"P!" I hear in the distance. "Persephone!"
I open my eyes and meet Jenna. Her body is on top of mine, her hands on my shoulders.
"What?" I whisper hoarsely.
I turn to my right and the other girls we share the room with seem scared. I return to Jenna, "What?" I repeat totally lost, my throat is dry, my body is waking up little by little. I'm drenched in sweat.
"You're good?" Jenna says.
"What happened?" I finally ask.
"You were screaming…” Says one of the girls.
“Claire woke me up when you started. It was horrible, seemed like they were torturing you” adds Jenna.
I frown and she gets off my bed.
"Do you remember your nightmare?" I shake my head as I slowly sit down on the mattress, rubbing my eyes. Claire hands me a towel, I thank her and wipe my face. "We should go to the infirmary.”
"It was just a nightmare."
"P, you are still trembling and you are pale. Madame Pomfrey must have some- "
"No," I say shortly. I sigh and look at all of them. "I'm sorry I woke you up,” I lie down with my back to them.
“P-"
"Good night, girls," no one answers. I only hear their footsteps back to their beds.
I couldn't sleep in what was left of the night; My dark circles are evident and when I arrive at the dining room the next day, the first person I see is Regulus.
"You don’t look well…”
"Thanks, it's what every girl wants to hear"
"Sorry, but you really look sick" He looks at me worried.
"I couldn't sleep well last night, but it doesn't matter, I'll sleep on the train"
"Are you sure you're not-"
“I’m sure.” I interrupt, trying to smile at him.
We have breakfast and then we leave the castle towards the train station. We enter the train, find an empty compartment, and lean back in my seat. I sigh and look at my friend.
"Remember when you asked me to be your girlfriend?" My question takes him by surprise and his cheeks flush.
“I planned everything in detail," He smiles embarrassed.
"I still have the ring,” It was back at home, I was playing with Sirius in the yard, then Reg and Alphard came out. Little Regulus, six years old, nervously asked me to be his girlfriend and gave me a green toy ring. Sirius was so angry that Regulus cried.
"Sirius was jealous,” He adds making me laugh.
"Everyone wants a little of me," I joke.
“Alphard got the ring. I remember being nervous and didn't know what to do, but he helped me”
That day, after the boy ran away I went to look for him, he was hidden under the dining room table. I spoke to him and accepted the ring, told him I would keep it well, and kissed his cheek.
"The ring was too big," We both laughed.
"I can't believe you still keep it," I shrug. "I also remember that you forced Sirius to apologize," I laugh.
"I helped him get a cookie Kreacher had made."
"I miss those times," He sighed.
"Me too…” We were silent.
The soft movement lulls me, slowly I fall asleep.

Regulus P.O.V.
Persephone falls asleep on her seat, her small body gives me enough space next to her.
At that, the compartment door opens and Sirius looks in, he sees the girl asleep, then notices my presence.
"How long has she been asleep?” He asks.
"A few minutes, don't wake her up," He nods. He backs up, but I stop him.
"What?"
“Can we talk?" He looks at me confused, but nods.
We both get out of the compartment as quietly as possible. He guides me to an empty one.
"You're good?" I am surprised by his concern.
"Why you ask?"
"You never want to talk to me. I thought something was happening to you,” He shrugs. I shake my head.
"The one in trouble is you,” He growls. "Listen, I know that the obvious is that I’m on Persephone's side, but I can't just leave you aside." And when I think he is going to make fun of me, he does the opposite.
"It sucks, Reg," I sit down and he does the same. He hides his face  with both hands and growls again. "All my life has been controlled by our parents, I believed that once I left Hogwarts I’d have freedom. And then this…” I grimace at seeing my brother like this.
"Lupin's plan will work." He looks at me.
"Since when do you trust Remus?" He raises an eyebrow, I sigh.
"Persephone trusts him, so I do too– Whatever happens, Sirius,” I put my hand on his shoulder. “I'll help you"
“Thanks.” He smiles sideways.
"You just have to take something into account,” His smile disappears. “I’ll do my best so that she doesn't get hurt. And if you get in the way, I won’t hesitate”
"Okay," I frown. "What?"
"I thought you were going to argue back, something like: But I am your brother!” He sighs.
"I know she's important to you… too important." He raises his eyebrows and I look away. "I wouldn’t blame you if you decide to defend her, in addition-" I return to him, "I wouldn’t bear to hurt her, not again"
"I thought you hated her?” He laughs a little.
"I don’t, it's... complicated. You wouldn't understand- even I don't, it just…” He seems to struggle with the words “I don't know, Reg”

Percy P.O.V
I feel my body shake uncontrollably, everyone gets off the train to meet their families. In the distance I recognize the intimidating figure of my father, next to him is my mother and Apollo, along with a blonde girl.
"Ready for the show?" I jump in my place when hearing a masculine voice next to me. Sirius, who makes a sign with his head towards the place where my family is, stands next to me, but there’s something different on his demeanor.
"This is not going to end well," I whisper.
“Easy," He replies, surprising me. We share a look and walk towards our families.
"The future couple,” says Walburga as soon as we approach with a false smile. I want to throw up.
There are no hugs or sweet words, at least not for us. The Blacks greet Regulus warmly when he arrives, while Ares and Amelia welcome Juno with open arms. Apollo approaches us. He watches us without saying anything until the blonde follows him.
"Hello, Persephone, Sirius," She says with a warm smile, which we return.
"Hi Jane," My gaze lowers and I step back just like Sirius. Apparently we both noticed her bulging belly at the same time. "Wow, you're huge," I say without thinking.
"Persephone!" My mother scolds me, but Jane laughs, touching her belly.
“It’s okay, it's true"
"Did you know she was pregnant?" Sirius whispers in my ear. I shake my head.
"Just a couple of months left,” Apollo says, also touching his wife's belly.
"We better go," Says my father. No one contradicts him.
–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
I get to my room, which is intact, everything is clean and tidy, making me nauseous. Returning home and seeing what it was like before is very strange.
I put my bags on my bed and sigh. Then I hear someone knock on my door, I open it and meet my older sister Isis.
"The small misfortune of the family, finally returned" Her smile makes me shiver. She’s always been quite rare, her sense of humor is cruel and she’s really impulsive. She never bothered me, it was just her in her world, but now I'm afraid she can do something to me.
“H-hi," She enters the room and I open the door completely in case things get ugly. At that Balder enters with a wolfish smile.
"It- it's good to see you," I say in a shaky voice.
"Excited to marry the older Black?" Balder says still smiling.
"Oh, that must be her biggest dream since she was a child," adds Isis, sitting on my desk. Balder sits on my bed. When they don’t receive an answer, they both laugh.
"Family meeting?" Juno says entering.
Great, this is great. I back up until I reach the wall opposite them.
"Dear Juno, how’ve you been?" Isis asks.
“I'd be better if you stopped sending me so many letters telling me stupid things," She growls, making Isis laugh hysterically.
"Oh, come on. Didn't you like the howler?” She and Balder laugh again and high-five each other.
The three continue to interact while I stay quiet. I’d like to be happy that all my siblings are reunited like before, but this time is different. I know everything is going to explode and I have a feeling none of them will help me if something bad happens. They didn’t, last time.
Isis and Juno fight over something else and Balder just watches them amused. Of all the brothers, Isis and Balder are the ones who get along best, as children they were inseparable, in fact, before we all got along well.
Apollo was the most serious but the most protective, especially with me. Isis always tried to make us laugh with some nonsense, Balder was the most active, always playing Quidditch or some other thing, then there was Juno, she always tried to pretend to be more mature, hiding her smile behind books. But all of that changed over time.
Apolo married after Hogwarts with Jane, that girl so sweet and warm, at first I didn’t understand how she could be with my brother, always calm and quiet. Their marriage was also arranged, but Apollo was lucky and over time they fell in love, now they’re expecting their first baby. No wonder they didn’t tell me the news, since they moved we’ve hardly spoken, it was rare to see him at the station.
Isis is also married, but she doesn’t take her husband seriously, he’s quite a jerk. When we met him, he wanted to control all of my sister's movements, but she always found a way to get out of his grip. Balder was sent to Dumstrang, he only has this year left, then he’ll be trained to be a professional Quidditch player, why did my parents agree to  that? I have no idea.
The discussion is interrupted by Kles, the house elf, announcing that dinner is ready. We left my room and sat at the huge table. The order was always the same: my parents at each point, then to the left of Ares there should be Apollo, then Balder (although now Apollo’s wife is there) on the other side Isis and then Juno, then me, the closest to my mother
"I want you on my left, Persephone," Says my father without looking at me.
Everyone is silent, Isis and I switch places. My hands tremble and I feel my heart pounding out of my chest when I reach his side.
The soup is served and everyone eats in silence.
"You look sick,” I look up to the front where Apollo is, I shrink in the chair.
“It's nothing," I say in a thin voice.
"Let Jane check you,” I look at the girl and she smiles at me with a nod. Jane is a healer.
"She said no, Jane won't do anything," Ares interrupts.
I look down at my plate. My mother clears her throat and starts a conversation with Juno about her splendid notes at school, the attention goes to them throughout the dinner.
––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
"He's a boy," says Jane, sitting next to me in the armchair in front of the fireplace.
"Good," I say. I lift my legs up and hug them by putting my chin on my knees.
"Are you sure you feel good, honey? I can check you,” I shake my head.
"I haven’t slept well,” I’ve said this so many times that I’m fed up. She sighs.
"I have a potion to make you sleep better"
“It's not necessary-“
"It was not a question or a suggestion, I’ll tell Apolo to give it to you before you go up to your room," She says, surprising me. I just nod in response.
We were silent for a few minutes until she spoke again.
"I guess you didn't take the news of the wedding well," She says a little nervously, I look at her.
"I don't want to sound rude, but I don't want to talk about it now, please," She laughs softly. I look at her in confusion.
“You’ve changed. I remember the first time we met. You were quite rude when they told you I was going to marry your brother”
I feel my cheeks flush.
"Sorry," I whisper.
"Don't worry, I understood. You just wanted to protect him, it was cute ”
"At first I thought that all that kindness was part of an act to be accepted in the family"
"But Sirius asked you to give me a chance. That boy was a delight. Is he still the same? ” Again, my cheeks burn.
"I suppose…”
"Oh look at you, you're embarrassed," She teases, causing my face to turn red.
“Enough!" I say, laughing.
"It reminds me of when I met your brother," She says in a dreamy voice. I grimace making her laugh. "I was lucky to have someone so attractive"
"Oh no," I cover my ears and she tickles me to remove them, in the end only our laughter was heard.
"I see you’re having fun," says Apollo, sitting down in the individual chair next to ours.
"Your dear sister cannot bear to know that you’re one of the most beautiful men in the world," She replies, making him laugh.
I watch my brother for a few seconds without being able to believe this facet of him. It's weird to see him... happy.
“Ew!" I complain and laugh again.
"Accept it, sister," I shake my head. "I have a good reason to be with the most beautiful woman in the world."
Janes looks at him tenderly and kisses him, while I act like I’m about to throw up.
"Please stop,” Jane's laugh stops and touches her belly, Apollo and I see her worried.
"I can't believe it, the baby’s kicking!” Apollo kneels in front of her and raises her blouse and then puts his hands on her belly, waiting. I look at them confused,
"Isn't that what they're supposed to do?"
“He hadn’t done it, ever. The healer told us there was nothing wrong.” Apollo frowns and walks away a little. Jane pouts.
"We talk to him all the time, but he doesn't want to answer," she says with a sad smile.
I go up to her and touch her belly.
"Maybe he’s too serious like his father," I joke and feel a small push in my hand. "Wow! What happened?" I remove my hand.
"Oh, Merlin. It's you!”Jane squeals. "Say something else!” She takes my hand and returns it to her stomach.
"Uh..." I think deeply. "I hope I'm your favorite aunt, otherwise I won't give you gifts!”
I yelp when the baby kicks where my hand is. Jane and Apollo laugh delightedly.
“Persephone," I jump up when my father enters the room. Apollo does the same. "Go back to your room, I don't want you near my grandson.”
His words surprise me and all the joy from before fades away.
"She's not doing anything wrong, father," adds Apollo.
Ares just looks at him raising an eyebrow, but then he goes back to me.
"If in two minutes you are not in bed, you’ll face the consequences.” He sentences and then leaves.
My breathing becomes rough and my anxiety returns. I don't waste time and run to my room ignoring the calls from Jane and Apollo.

Key Entries of James Potter’s Journal - Third Year, Part 1
July 26, 1973
Sirius showed up in the living room today, bleeding. Mum wants to calls the aurors on his parents. Dad says there’s no point, that the Blacks are an important family, and that they’ll pay there way out of going to prison.
I wish Dad wasn’t right.

August 12, 1973
Dad went over to the Blacks today with Sirius. Mum wanted to go to, but he wouldn’t let her. They came back with Sirius’s things. At least now we have his record player.

Everything seems a bit off.
I think Marlene has been avoiding Sirius. They didn’t write to each other much. Whenever I mention it to him, he brushes it off, and says “he’d rather spend time with his best mates anyways”.
Speaking of mates, Reggie has been sneaking into the Gryffindor common room lately. He says he doesn’t want to be around the Slytherins right now. When I asked him about it, he mumbled something about how a war is starting. We’re teenagers and I wish we didn’t have to worry about war.

First full moon of the year. Sirius thinks he finally found something we can do to help Remus. He wants us to become animagus. He’s gathering everybody who knows about his condition tonight.
I know Kingsley knows about Remus. I just know it. But I can’t confront him about it and Sirius doesn’t think we should invite him, just in case he doesn’t know. I still want to talk to him about it.

Marlene and Dorcas are out of the plan. They don’t want to risk it. I understand that. Lils says she wants to try, but she also said she might back out at some point. Pete and Sirius are determined to do it. I’m a little nervous, but I pretended I was sure about it too. I wish I could talk to someone rational about it. Maybe Kingsley. Or McG.

Sirius and I have barely slept for the last week. We go to classes, eat our meals, go to quidditch practice so that maybe this year we can get on the team, and at night, we sneak into the library. I so wish Dad would just give me his invisibility cloak already, because it would make my sneaking around the castle so much easier.

Sirius and I finally got on the team!!! He's a beater, and I'm a chaser. Rakepick, the captain, is a bit mean, and we’re a bit beat up, but it's so worth it. I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE WE'RE ON THE TEAM!!!!!!

I don’t really understand Sirius and Marlene’s relationship. She snaps at him all the time these days, and then they fight, but next thing I know, they’re snogging again. Even if it seems like they don’t want to be snogging. Marlene is always staring at Dorcas the way I think she should be staring at Sirius, and Sirius is always staring at me... almost like the way I’m always staring at him. Or maybe I’m just imagining things.

Sirius is back and better than ever, at least when it comes to pranks. Everytime one of the Slytherins talk, bats fly out of their mouths. I don’t even know how he figured out how to do that. Don’t tell Lily, but I’m glad that that Snape boy wasn’t able to talk her. He’s such a jerk to her, and she doesn’t even notice.

Reggie is experiencing his first Truth or Dare tonight, as it is Sirius's birthday. I can’t wait. I just hope nobody forces him into something he’s uncomfortable with.

November 3rd, 1973 continued
I completely underestimated Reggie. He dared Lily to kiss Sirius. I don’t even know why. She looked so uncomfortable the whole time, but she isn’t first year Lily anymore and she isn’t going to take her shirt off just to get out of a stupid dare. I asked Reggie not to do it again though. I hate that he made her uncomfortable.

Lily got a letter from home today, and she couldn't stop crying after she opened it. Sirius went after her when she ran out if the Great Hall, and well, if it's from her family, then it's for the best. He knows better than the rest of us when it comes to messed up families.

December 5th, 1973
Sirius and I finally found a detailed book on how to become animagus. We plan on starting the process as soon as we get back from break. I wonder how the whole mandrake leaves in our mouths will work. Probably not well. Sirius loves to talk and Pete loves to eat.
- James Potter
December 20th, 1973
We're exchanging gifts tonight. Lils got Sirius, Pete, and I chalkboards to hang around our necks, that way we can still communicate during the month of mandrake torture. Still have no idea how we'll eat.

December 22nd, 1973
I'm stealing Sirius for Christmas again. Wishing that Regulus would just let go of his pride and come too. I can't stand the idea of him going back to that house. Maybe one day he'll understand my p.o.v.
- James Potter
December 31st, 1973
I'm being selfish. I wish that Sirius and I could lay together every night, instead of just when he's here. I know that it's not normal for boys to like to cuddle other boys, but he's my best friend, not just my crush. And I want to cuddle up against him all the time. Maybe I should talk to him about it.

Draco Malfoy X Claire Dursley Chp 2
Claire’s P.O.V
Quickly I went to the room I was staying in, most of my things were almost already packed as we were supposed to leave tomorrow morning, so it didn’t take me long to get ready for leaving. Soon Harry and I were hurrying down the stairs, but just as we got to the bottom, Uncle Vernon appeared from the dining room, “Bring her back now!” he demanded grabbing Harry by his collar, but Harry was quick he pointed a stick thing towards Uncle Vernon.
"I will not, she got what she deserved.“ Harry opposed, I hated it but I didn’t really know whose side to take on this, she is a mother after all but had gone far here.
"I am leaving, I have had enough,” he announced, pushing past Uncle Vernon’s grip. “And you keep away from me.”
“You’re not allowed to do magic outside of school.” argued uncle Vernon. Magic so that is what harry and I could do
“Yeah? Try me.” challenged Harry, still pointing the stick at uncle, it was funny to see huge Uncle Vernon afraid that tiny stick.
“They won’t let you back now. You’ve nowhere to go” Uncle Vernon warned
"I don’t care. Anywhere is better than here.“ Harry went on walking with his trunk and a cage that is when Uncle Vernon noticed me moving along with Harry and asked “Where are you going” I had tried to wiggle out of there without any attention, but seems like I failed, miserably.
“I am sorry but I need to go with him,” I told him politely. “Tell, Mum I will call as soon as I can, uhh whenever she is back."
"You won’t be able to call” Harry informed me.
“A letter then, I will surely send that,” I said as Harry nodded as he got up and we walked further out in the dark, quiet street, heaving his heavy trunk behind him.
“Harry, where are we going?” I asked.
“I don’t know, do you have muggle money with you?” he asked me. What?! Muggle?! What’s that?!
“Money, yes I have that but what on earth is Muggle money?” I asked.
“Merlin, obviously you do not know and now I don’t know what the Ministry is going to do I have broken the law after all,” he said more to himself than me in panic. What the hell? What ministry, what rule?
I don’t know if things are weirder or more confusing right now, generally, I would have annoyed the hell out of Harry but I don’t think even if I do that Harry is going to be any help, for now, he is consumed figuring out where we are going to go. But I knew one thing, it is was going to be a long night.
Indeed, it was a long night and still continues, right now Harry and I follow some man into a long dark alley, and how did we end here? If you may ask. A Knight Bus came out of nowhere to pick us up, in the middle of the street after we left from Privet Drive, the ride was crazy, I don’t understand why the people couldn’t see but I thank god they couldn’t; it was insane. As the bus dropped us, we found this man and Harry seem to know him, turns out he is Minister of Magic so here following him in a dark alley, into a pub, a what, why did he bring us to a pub?
As we enter, he takes to a privet room, and says, “Sit down, Harry and young girl”, indicating two chairs by the fire. The man tells Harry how Mum had been saved, it was too dangerous for him to run away like this and he can return to Private Drive next summer and he won’t be punished for whichever law he broke etc.
“I do not intend to be rude, but nothing that you people are talking about really makes sense, though I thank you for saving my mother,” I say losing patience.
“You are Marjorie Dursley’s daughter?” Minister questioned, I nodded.
“Why did you bring her here Harry?’ he asked and Harry explained him the reason he got me here, the Minister just started at me for few seconds and then said, “You are not a Dursley but Black."
"I do not understand” I replied, looking at the man sceptically.
“I am not good at explaining, but I am sure Headmaster Professor Dumbledore will be more than happy to help,” he said, and then called for his innkeeper “Tom!”
“Now who is that?” I ask more to myself than him.
“He is the Headmaster of Hogwarts, the school I go to and most probably you will joining soon as well” Harry explained, I just nodded taking it in.
“Ms.Dursley, Tom will take you to the room you will staying in, for now and Dumbledore waits there for you.” I nod and walk out of the room. As I left the room I heard the Minister saying to Harry.  "Mr. Potter, I think you should accompany her it will be as good for you as it is for her.” Soon, Harry was behind me. Tom guided us upstairs and very are soon left in front of room number twelve, which turns to be the room for me, and the room just beside it, room number eleven as Harry’s. We walk in to find an old man with a very long white beard standing by the window with his back to us.
“Professor” Harry calls making the old man turn around and face us.
“Hello, Harry” he greets looking at Harry and then turns to me and says, “and you must be Claire” I nodded examining him. He wore a sash around his beard, Lord knows how long it must be. He wore half-moon spectacles, robes and a cap on his head, with a serene and tranquil expression on his face. Overall it was weird and very rare look as well I guess.
"You look exactly like your mother, so much but one cannot ignore your father’s resemblance,” he said observing me.
“No, she looks like the female version if Uncle Vernon and I are noth-” I began to reply when he interrupted me.
“Listen to me Claire” he says very slowly, “The things that I will tell you may seem difficult to believe, but are all absolutely true.” I nodded my head. “Your mother isn’t Marjorie Brunhilde Dursley, she adopted you when you were very little, and your mother’s name was Violet Evans,” he said.
“Evans,” says Harry, “You mean to say she is my cousin?” Harry asked gesturing towards me.
“Yes Harry, she is Lily’s younger sister’s daughter” the old man informed. So Harry is actually my cousin, through my mother.
“What about my father?” I asked.
“His name was Regulus Black, he belonged to the ancient noble House of the Black.” he said.
“Black, in relation to Sirius black?” I inquired, remembering the conductor from the Knight Bus mentioning him.
“Where did you hear about him?” The old man asked me.
“In the night bus, he was in the newspapers after all,” Harry answered for me.
"Sirius Black is your father’s brother Claire, I will say nothing to you since most things are still a mystery to us, to which the Ministry is investigating, but just that be the judge of your own mind and people. After all, your father supported an evil man once, but he went with your mother. We thought he had killed her, but turned out he neither harmed nor killed her.“ Professor Dumbledore said. "How did, my parents die then?” I asked. It was pretty easy to guess they had died. Since he had just informed me that in different ways, one me being in adopted and second the old man using ‘was’ for them.
“They were killed by Voldemort,” he answered. A moment of pin-drop silence filled the room. I used the moment to absorb the information and break the silence.
“Isn’t he the other criminal you were talking about?” I asked looking at Harry, he nodded and then said “Yes, he killed my parents too”. So this Voldemort, killed both my aunt and uncle, and my parents…., things are just getting more complicated, every answer to my one question, builds up 5 more, but “Oh” was all I could say.
“I am sure till now you must have witnessed the magic you possess within yourself,” asked Dumbledore as I nodded. “You are a witch, and you have a younger sister as well, she currently is studying in France magic school, the Beauxbatons Academy,” he informed me. Okay, I am not who I am, my real parents are dead, I am a witch I have a sister, next thing they tell me is, I am a unicorn.
“Will I be studying magic as well?” I asked and he nodded.
“You will be coming to Hogwarts along with your cousin Harry this year, and will be joining the 3rd year itself, I am sure you will catch up fast, both your parents were brilliant and surely Ms. Granger will help you.”, Seems interesting.
“Professor, why didn’t she get her letter like me at eleven years age?” asked Harry.
“The Blacks had hidden your cousins very well. It was a coincidence that we could locate your younger cousin faster. But we weren’t able to locate where Claire was, that’s why we couldn’t send the letter. Though Claire, the Ministry was able to get hold of this from your parents hide” the old man said as he handed me a photograph.
The picture was of my parents with my sister and I as babies, smile spread across my face as I traced the picture with my fingers, my mother was beautiful and my father was handsome, the babies in that picture were cute, one year gap of age clear in the photograph, older one had brown eyes while the younger had violet. There was something knitted on both their sweaters, older it was ‘Princess’ and the younger 'Kitten’. Must be the nicknames Mum and Dad gave me. I looked up at Dumbledore.
“Sir, can I ask for a favour?” I asked him.
“Ask away Miss Black.” he said.
“I would like to meet my sister,” I said.
“Sure I will arrange for your meeting.” he agreed and with that disappeared in a crack, and I looked from the picture to Harry.

Making a new friend. Part 1:
This is a little story of how Barty and Regulus became friends in my headcanon. A muggle AU. So enjoy this cute little story.
Barty's P.O.V:
Barty knew he was a problematic kid. He only caused trouble. His father had made sure to let him know that. Nobody liked Barty. Not even his parents. Barty was sure of that. His parents cared about everything else except for him.
When Barty got to Hogwarts, he didn't like any of the pretentious kids that talked about their parents as if they were gods. The kids that bragged about their money and their happy lives and where they traveled to that summer. He decided he didn't want friends. Hogwarts had been the best time for his father. He made lots of friends there. So Barty didn't want anything to do with this school. Barty was planning on getting out as soon as possible.
Barty had a plan. He needed to cause as much trouble as he could. He didn't study. He didn't make any effort. Barty wondered how much it would take the authorities to call his father. And what would Bartemius Crouch say?
But nothing ever happened. It was the end of November. Barty couldn't resist any more. What was worse was that Mr. Binns, the History teacher, had given them an oral presentation. Barty hated talking in public. He wasn't his father.
"And this assignment will be in pairs. So pick up your partner quickly"
Barty panicked. He didn't have any friends. He would have to work on his own. So he didn't move from his seat.
"Very well..." The professor said after a while, looking around through his glasses "Almost everyone is paired up. Except for you two" he pointed at Barty and someone else.... Regulus Black.
Regulus was one of Barty's roommates. He knew exactly who this kid was. Barty’s father wanted Barty to befriend the "best kids", children of the most important families. Like the Blacks, for example. So Barty had been avoiding him at all costs.
"Why don't you work together?" The professor added.
"I rather work on my own!" Barty responded immediately. He felt his cheeks on fire. He didn't know why.
 "I... Me too..." Regulus said.
Barty gave him a quick glance. Regulus was blinking to the floor.
"I am sorry, gentlemen. But this particular assignment needs to be in pairs.  It would be a lot of work for one person... Why don't you make an effort, eh?"
Mr. Binns gave them a soft smile. Which was odd. That man was more dead than alive.
"I am sure you can become great friends"
Barty sighed. He dared to look at Regulus. And he discovered the boy had his gray eyes on him. So Barty looked away immediately. Regulus did the same. They both blushed.
"Come on!" Mr. Binns continued "You have the resting fifteen minutes to begin working..." as the class broke into a loud chaos, he added "In silence, please"
Barty was not going towards Regulus. So he crossed his arms. Regulus sighed before picking up his things and walking towards Barty. He sat down next to him.
Regulus wasn't like the idiots that bragged about their families and money. Actually, Regulus never spoke. He was a weird kid that lived mostly in his world. Barty thought he would be different, for what he had heard about The Blacks. He had seen Sirius around. He was loud and open. Regulus was the contrary.
Barty decided to play with his pen between his fingers. Regulus began playing with his sweater sleeves. Barty noticed his uniform was perfect and brand new.
"So..." Regulus began nervously, looking down "How are we gonna divide the work?"
Barty shrugged.
 "However you want"
 Regulus blinked.
“Should we start reading on our own?” he asked, opening his book.
Barthy shrugged again.
 “Whatever”
 Regulus looked at him.
"Do you actually care about homework?"
Barty shook his head "No. I won't be here long, Regulus"
"Well... Where are you going? Because we need to work on the assignment..."
 Barty almost laughed.
"No! I mean I will leave Hogwarts soon"
 "Why?"
 "I don't like being here"
Regulus sighed "Me neither. It is not as cool as Sirius said. Hogwarts is just a regular school"
Barty was silent. He really didn’t want to have a conversation with this kid.
“I cannot make friends…” he continued anyway “Sirius said it would be easy”
Barty realized he had been observing Regulus only when the latter noticed. Regulus looked away, perhaps embarrassed about what he just said. Barty looked away as well.
“People here are stupid, Regulus. Maybe you are better off without friends. Trust me”
Regulus searched for Barty’s eyes for some reason. Barty tried his best not to look at him.
“That’s why you don’t have friends either?”
“I do have friends!” Barty replied immediately.
Regulus looked at him upside down.
“I haven’t seen you with anyone”
“I…” Barty didn’t know what to say. He wished Regulus would stop talking. “I prefer to be on my own” he crossed his arms as he finished.
“Okay…” Regulus finally shrugged, now ignoring Barty. He began reading.
Barty was intrigued about this kid. He was supposed to brag, be cocky and be annoying. He was part of one of the most rich and important families in the UK. But Regulus was quiet. Regulus was responsible. Regulus obeyed. Regulus was invisible.
Barty felt intrigued about this matter. Regulus was like a tired old man in a kid’s body.
“I thought you hung out with those kids…” Barty didn’t know why he was speaking “The second-years… Your brother and his friends”
Regulus shrugged but continued reading. Barty thought he would never answer but then Regulus said:
“Those are Sirius’ friends not mine. They let me hang out with them out of pity”
Regulus had his chin buried in his arms. He looked like a lost puppy.
“Maybe… Maybe you should do like me and get out of here”
Regulus’ mouth twisted. It looked like a smile.
Barty sighed and opened his book. He was only doing it so that Regulus would stop being sad. It was painful to watch.
“So, Regulus…” Barty began, clearing his throat “Can you explain all of this to me?” he asked “Because I have no bloody idea of what we’ve been studying in this class”
That made Regulus giggle. Barty tried not to smile.
“Of course” Regulus said, grabbing Barty’s book “But it would take us a lot of time”

***********************************
Barty would obviously deny this. But he didn’t end up irritated with Regulus. Actually the kid agreed with everything he said. Except when Barty wanted to break the rules. It was kind of comforting to be with him.
Barty actually didn’t mind about the assignment, because Regulus’ explanation made it look so easy. So they ended up working in silence for the rest of the class. And they met up at the Slytherin Common Room to finish the rest.
Regulus didn’t ask Barty any questions, they just focused on doing the assignment.
When they were done, Barty had the sensation that he needed to say something. Maybe thank him. Maybe shake hands. Maybe say “Good night” or something. But it was odd because they shared a dorm. So Barty didn’t do anything.
“I… I am gonna go and sleep, Bartemius” Regulus said instead, standing up and picking his things.
 “It’s Barty!”
Barty hated to have the same name as his father. Was he so self centered that he couldn’t pick another name? Besides, Barty didn’t like his father. He never spoke to him, only to scold him about something. He wasn’t like the fathers Barty had seen in the T.V., loving and caring.
 Regulus looked at him.
 “Oh… okay”
Barty swallowed “Should I call you Regulus or do you have another nickname?”
Regulus seemed a bit surprised about this question. To be fair, Barty was surprised as well.
Regulus shrugged “Everyone calls me Regulus. Except for Sirius that calls me Reggie. But I’ve told him I don’t like it” he shook his head to emphasize it.
Barty played with his hands as he said this:
 “What about Reg?”
Regulus moved his eyes as if he was overthinking the question.
“That doesn’t sound like I am a baby”
“No” Barty nodded “It actually sounds sophisticated, yeah?”
 Regulus smiled embarrassed.
“Sounds cool!” Regulus picked up his things and waved “Bye Barty”
“Bye Reg” Barty answered “I’ll see you in a bit. We actually sleep in the same room”
 Regulus giggled as he blushed.
“Right” he said, walking away “See you in a bit then”
Barty realized he was smiling after Regulus crossed the dormitory door. And he hated that. So he stopped.

*****************************************
The morning of the oral presentation, Barty was very nervous. For the first time in his Hogwarts life, he cared about an assignment. He had prepared himself, and he knew about the subject.
Maybe it was the fact that History wasn’t that bad, only Professor Binns made it utterly boring. Or perhaps it had to do with the fact that Barty liked Regulus. And Regulus cared about doing well in school. And Regulus liked History. But Barty was never gonna admit it.
It was just that… Regulus wasn’t annoying like the rest. It wasn’t Regulus’ fault that this school sucked. It wasn’t Regulus' fault that the rest of the kids were stupid. It wasn’t Regulus’ fault that Barty wanted to bother his father at all costs and ruin his career. None of this was Regulus’ fault. Perhaps he was a victim. Just like Barty was.
But he couldn’t like Regulus. He couldn’t be his friend. Barty was leaving this school soon. So what was the point?
That morning, Barty discovered that Regulus wasn’t in his bed when he woke up. Barty almost reached the Great Hall, expecting to see Regulus there. Perhaps he wouldn’t eat by himself this time. But he stopped before he entered as he heard something.
“Regulus is such a petty baby… He is kind of weird, right? Not like the rest of The Blacks”
Barty stopped on his tracks. He reckoned the group of boys speaking were fourth-years or something. Actually he had no idea who they were. But they sounded mean. And why were they talking about Regulus?
“It’s just that I’ve heard so many stories about The Black Family, that when I heard a new generation was coming… I expected something better…”
The boy’s friends laughed at his words. But they caused something different in Barty: fury.
“When I was a first-year, The Black Sisters weren’t not only very pretty, but they were popular and imposing. But now…” he shook his head “Sirius is a beast that doesn’t know his place, hangs out with the wrong people…”
Barty didn’t know Sirius well. But he didn’t seem like a bad guy. Besides, he was Regulus’ brother. And Regulus spoke about him every two minutes. So he must’ve liked him. Barty didn’t know, he didn’t have any siblings.
“And Regulus…” Barty’s ear listened carefully “Regulus is so weird and shy… Not proper for a Black… He doesn’t seem to be from that family…I’ve heard something… Something about his brain…” he giggled  “That he is retarded or something” and the others laughed.
That was enough for Barty. He was a little reckless and raw. Sometimes he didn’t think before doing something. His parents never taught him to be delicate. So he walked up to these boys and kicked the one that was speaking on the crotch.
The boy bent down and groaned in pain. Barty was going to run away but the boy’s friends grabbed him. Barty struggled to get away, he wanted to yell but someone was covering his mouth.
“Now now, little boy,” the boy in pain said, “I don’t know who you are but you are gonna learn who I am… And you’re gonna learn that nobody messes up with me… Do you understand?
