This is one of those episodes that isn't itself overly sad or hard, but it feels sad and hard when you know where Atlantis and the team are headed. When you know that when Elizabeth says she might have to resign in protest to not being listened too, she doesn't know how short a time she has on Atlantis.

It's hard in the first half because Atlantis is fractured between the military and the civilians. This is hard because on Atlantis, they've all been working together, and now they disagree, and they're not listening to each other.

But! I love that things click for Sheppard when he's telling Ronon and Teyla about the Fantastic Four, that they're a team and they'll figure it out. At that moment, he goes to find Rodney and the immediately figure it out. Atlantis needs both the military and the civilian team members but they have to work together.

I love Ellis because he grows. He starts out a bit pig-headed, but honestly I get that. He was given a mission, not given wiggle room. But I love that he comes back an apologizes and humbles himself to make things right with Elizabeth.

I love Rodney reminding Ellis it's not his call. I love Sheppard-could-have-been-in-Mensa figuring it out. And for some reason, I love Sheppard's face when he's concentrating on flying Atlantis. He seems calm but determined and focused.

Then of course the whole thing ends with disaster.

Oh, and Lorne! I watched an SG-1 episode the other day from Season 10 and it also had Lorne in it! So nice to see him.

Not to care about supernatural in the year 2024 but I will never get over the fact that Dean knew that a demon was possessing his dad because the demon was too nice. John saying he's proud of his son? So unheard of that Dean knew it was a demon. Dean Winchester is truly a character who will never leave my brain I just want to wrap him in a million blankets and tell him he's loved. He knows he's being lied to when his dad says he's proud of Dean and then almost dies after hearing the same demon use his dad's voice to say that no one needed Dean as much as he needed them and gods its 2024 and that still makes me feral

ever since her surgery, y/n has been forced to rot in the hospital bed. at least until buck gets out of work. every single day, he would come to visit her.

when she first had to go in for the operation, nothing was certain. the medicine she’d have to take, how many bandages would be wrapped around her leg, but one thing was the same.

buck was in the chair next to her every chance he could be. he knew it was something to bring her stability when all of hers was on the brink of collapse. he brought her food, flowers, clothes from home, everything she could’ve ever needed was brought to her, all from him.

it was his post-shift routine. he would shower, change, and drive over to the hospital she was at. he would come full of stories, and he would tell her all about what she was missing. he hated seeing her in that bed, but if it helped her get better, it was all worth it.

it was almost funny to buck, whenever he would go over and visit. it was like they were never dating. it was like high school, when you go a certain way in the halls to see your crush, and your chest gets tight and face hot.

today, he was particularly excited to see her. he got his haircut for the first time in a while, and she adored when he had a fresh cut. he styled it her favorite way before heading over.

he held a to-go box from y/n’s favorite, and had a bag with some clean sleep clothes for her. he scurried through the halls and finally found her room. he knocked lightly on the side as the door was already open.

he peered in to see her, her head slowly tilting to the side with her eyes tired. the office reruns were one of the only noises in the room, besides the steady beeping of her heart monitor.

“hey, beautiful,” buck says cheerfully, waiting for her to look into his eyes too. she perked up at the sound of his voice.

“hi, buck,” her voice was low but clear, and she blinked a few times before focusing on him again. it seemed all energy was brought back to her as she looked at him. she looking him in the face, and then onto his hair and back into his eyes. buck felt the same warm feeling he always did when she looked at him. the color in her eyes shined ten times brighter when she was with him.

the longer she looked at him, she didn’t physically feel anything, but as he moved closer, the more excited she got. she had just wanted him next to her all day, and his hands finally graced her own and cupped her cheeks.

he planted his soft lips onto hers, tasting like the sugary popsicles they give her. he pulled away to sit down next to her, and she just smiled so brightly at him, the same way she always does whenever they pull from the kiss.

it always left them in a trance, such a trance that they didn’t notice the beeping speeding up on her monitor.

“oh, honey,” the nurse murmured, walking in to check on her. “you didn’t tell me when he was coming, gave us a good scare on this floor.”

“what?”

“miss y/n, you are so head over heels for him, whenever he walks in you just about go into arrest.”

y/n’s cheeks blush bright red, looking embarrassed at the nurse. “well you don’t have to say that in front of my crush.”

“i’m your boyfriend?” buck says, confused but also humored.

“you’re still both, apparently.” the nurse retorts, rehooking one of y/n’s tubes back on. when she walks out, she rubs her face with her eyes.

“i would be lying if i said i didn’t notice the beeping.” buck whispers.

“what?” y/n laughs. “what beeping?”

“whenever i walk in, you get all excited and start beeping like crazy.”

“not true.”

“is too! just say you love me,” buck says, leaning in closer.

“fine, i love you.” y/n grins back at him before kissing him again, and her heart rate still doesn’t go down.

You were practically unable to sit still on the gurney as you waited. Apart of you excited but also equally anxious. He however hadn’t turned around from the small metal table beside you.

“I’m aware.” He came out almost monotone. He almost seemed hypnotized by his own work.

Jonathan crane had always wanted to see your reaction to his toxin,always. A desire of his. Something twisted birthed out of his relationship with you. It should be wrong right? You could be begging,screaming and kicking telling him no,but it was the complete opposite actually. Your boyfriend had completely nursed you into the idea.

“So then why are you so hesitant?” It came out as a tease from you. He always had that look in his eyes when it came to his work that would make anyone jealous. His fingers found the last heart rate monitor lead quickly removing the plastic covering for the adhesive. There was a certain eagerness with this last lead. Something the doctor was eager to enjoy. At that moment a familiar black bird landed on his right shoulder.

Craw had seemingly taken notice of his master’s behavior and came to investigate. The crow would never bother if it was a random test subject. But it was you,what was essentially the sweet birds other parent.

“Hesitation requires a adversarial response to something. I assure you none such a feeling exists here.” That final lead got placed right over your heart. No getting up now unless you wanted to rip adhesive right off your skin.

“And the big bad master of fear is immune to such a thing? Jonathan you and I both know that’s bull.” The leads wouldn’t be on you if he wasn’t worried,he was,deeply. He just hated to admit it.

“Arms,legs down straight. It’s either I strap you in tight or we break some equipment dear.” It was a purr in his voice. Someone clearly loved the idea.

He started by belting yo both your legs. The straps weren’t uncomfortable physically but more mentally. You knew what was going to happen. By this point craw had made his way to your stomach and made an inquisitive head tilt at you almost to ask ‘are you sure about this?’

“It’s okay buddy, see? I’m all safe.” You lifted up one of the wires slightly before returning it to the cuff spot. Jonathan was quick to get to your torso and do the same process. Deadlocked in all four spots. How romantic.

“Now we talked about how you wanted this taken,when we discussed it you said you preferred my own personal favorite…..” The injector glove. You’d be a fool to ignore the brilliance of such a tool but also how intimidating the thing could be.

“It won’t hurt as much as it looks. There so close together you won’t feel the pain separate.” He spent a second rehooking some of tubes to a separate vial on him. You two had already made it clear that it was just to much a risk to inject his more powerful chemicals. Suddenly the beeping of the monitor got louder and more pronounced. He looked up a smirk creeping onto his face.

“Are you scared dear? What terrifies you most?”

You really were nervous weren’t you?

“Would I sound pathetic if I said you,oh master of fear?”

Due to some personal issues, I neglected to renew my personal domain name. While I do have it, to my surprise, I can't rehook xtra.thoughtremixer.com to my Tumblr.

Turns out that in trying to make a few extra dollars, Tumblr phased out custom domains and instead introduced "Tumblr Domains" where they will host the domain name for you and it will be linked to the blog.

The custom domains (which they called Legacy Domains) should still work... as long as I don't disconnect it.

Sadly, since I missed the payment, it got disconnected. I can't reconnect it and I can't transfer the name to Tumblr.

This made me very sad that now years of links that either has whatwhiteswillneverknow.com and xtra.thoughtremixer.com are now broken. Forever. All because I forgot to renew a domain name.

Oh well. What can I do?

The only positive out of all this is that at least the branding is consistent. So, for now, I'll keep the Tumblr name. I won't be doing another "brand switch" until I feel it's needed.

But the fact that Tumblr decided to do away with Custom Domains and won't allow you to reconnect them isn't the best move, Tumblr.

I've been thinking about Sanji still and the nuances of him as a f/o So I'm going to talk about it <3 The thing is. In my head his personality Absolutely leans more on his characterization in the Live Action but mixed with his original characterization in the manga and anime. Cause I read some of the manga in highschool but dropped off because I was borrowing the manga volumes from a friend who I had a falling out with so I never really continued! BUT THEN The live action adaptation got announced and I got rehooked instantly. And I had already liked the Strawhat Crew from the little bit I got to read but I didn't get the chance to really get attached. The live action changed that ALOT. Maybe it had to do with it not being connected to reading them as fast as I could and being able to enjoy them from a different point of view but I LOVED IT! And I particularly enjoyed Sanji! He was a character I liked well enough and found interesting but wasn't the highest on my list, probably because I didn't get very long with him! The most I remembered about him was the circumstances of meeting him, his backstory, and that he was a flirt. But OHHHHHH Did the liveaction make me think about him more. Not that I don't enjoy his manga and anime portrayal, when he's not being played for jokes I REALLY LIKE HIM <3 I haven't gotten that far in the anime but I hope that that element dies down after the time skip? Nothing against Nami lmao I adore her I think this is just the like. Second character that I've genuinely been uncomfortable/not a fan of shipping with a specific characters (Also looking at Red Son and how I feel about Dragon Fruit shipping) I'm glad to see that that element has been toned down for the most part while keeping that flirty gentlemenly side to Sanji that I really really love. And I think that's why I like the concept of my selfship with him being a mix of both portrayals, blending the elements I enjoy from both! Like for example I LOVE the way Sanji flirting is portrayed in the liveaction compared to how it's show in the anime with overthetop feminizing comedic stuff. But on the other side I actually really like the standoffish toughguy facade he puts on in the anime lmao.(Again gestures to Red Son) And I also want to do that with him visually!! Trying to mix how he's drawn in the manga/anime and the features his actor has in the live action (ie wavey hair, face shape, tongue peircing, etc) It's been.. fun! Being able to mix and match and take all of my headcanons into account and make a version of him that has all the stuff i love <3

I line dry my family’s clothes as much as possible to save money (less electricity and less wear on the clothes), to sunbleach stains (two toddlers), and for the environment (less manufactured energy more wind and solar passive energy). In summer it also helps cool my home like a swamp cooler.

I installed a new laundry line with a fancy pulley system so I can hang while standing in one spot. The usual cotton rope I buy wasn’t available at the store, so I bought sisal rope - apparently more sun resistant, and it’s not plastic. I hung it on an overcast day. A week later, I had to tie a slip knot in it and pin it because it was too slack.

The next day, it rained.

The hook I used to hang my pulley was unhooked by the sheer tension and the whole thing collapsed in freshly forked dirt. Even untying the slip knot was not enough to rehook it. I installed a new hook and used some chained up carabiners to rectify.

So here is the proper way to install a laundry line, particularly for sisal:

Ensure the drill is drilling in (not out), and using a ladder or otherwise boosted drill a pilot hole with a screw shorter than your hook into a solid support. I used a fence post and a shed roof on a post.

Screw a heavy duty hook in to the support. Repeat between 20 and 100ft away with another pilot hole and hook.

Hook the pulley assembly onto the hook, then run the rope around it. Gently pull it to the other hook and repeat with a second pulley. Tie into a big loop using a square knot, so the tension on the knot pulls it tighter instead of loosening once you have weight on it.

Using split rings made into a chain, or a length of chain that can fit over the hook, attach a chain to the hole in the pulley assembly with a carabiner. I recommend about 18 inches of chain. This should be at the spot you intend to stand while hanging laundry. ALWAYS STORE ON THE LOOSEST CHAIN LINK.

On a particularly dry day, go out and loop the carabiner to the hook. Retie your laundry line to its tightest. Rehook at end of chain so there is lots of slack in case of high humidity.

When hanging laundry, unhook chain and rehook at appropriate chain link or carabiner for the day’s humidity to be taut but not overtight. Every item or three you hang on the line, attach a carabiner to the lines. This helps keep the two lines of the loop together instead of tightening the empty top and slackening the loaded bottom.
