I must be the only one who craves. I want to ask my Sunday School teacher if I will go to hell. How much am I sinning when I’m only pleasuring myself?

She lay like Jesus hung
Along a wooden board
Chest facing upward
Forsaken by the lord.
The civilians gather
In the musty room,
Approaching her body
They deliver their doom.
One by one,
He does as he pleases
Lays beside her,
Caresses her creases.
He who uses her body
Rids himself of yearning,
Now appraised by the lord
The tables are turning.
Her head hangs back,
Her throat serenely exposed,
The world upside down
She leaves her eyes closed.
One man boards her body,
Rests his head on her chest
Intoxicating her mind
He leaves empty like the rest.
Her body tortured
“To bring you to God”,
She finds perverted pleasure
Behind her demolished facade.
Civilians disperse
Grins raising their cheeks.
Tis not the connection, but
Her violated body she seeks.

I'm feeling particularly witchy after attending a unicorn tea party at Crescent Moon Gifts. I love their new space, especially this mural. With a tarot chapbook, and two witchcraft adjacent poetry books in the works, I find the line between witchcraft and other art forms grows thinner by the day. Darlings, speak your meaning into being. #witchcrafty #modernwitchcraft #hedgewitchcraft #witchy #witchesofinstagram #witchyvibes #witchesofig #witchpoet #witchstagram #witchart #religiouspoetry #witchessociety #witching #witchcraft #witchsociety #saturdayafternoon #saturdaythoughts #goddess #queerpoet (at Crescent Moon Gifts) https://www.instagram.com/p/B7MvVT1FKBR/?igshid=18tlurln2nxtq

“My Fear” “For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person — though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die — but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.” - Romans 5:6-11 . . . #poetry #poetrycommunity #poetryofinstagram #poetryaccount #poetrylovers #writer #lovepoetry #poetic #poem #poems #poemsofinstagram #writing #prose #life #deepthoughts #deeppoetry #deeppoems #religion #religiouspoetry #religious #mind #spiritual #christian #church #new #picture #deep #art #artist #lyrics https://www.instagram.com/p/B0mjukKgsES/?igshid=rhdafl6r7d46

Mahatma (1987: Age 16)
Mahatma (1987: Age 16)
January 24, 1987
They will beat us, They will kill us, We must not raise a hand Nor strike a blow. If we raise our fists There will be no heavier a blow Upon the battle we fight. If we hold our hands There will be no heavier a blow Upon the battle they fight.
Should we raise one fist, Should we strike one child, Should we kill one enemy, There need be no life For we deserve no freedom.

Spoken word written out
My life blank like this
page used to be
And now is slowly accruing
the scribbles of options
considered, then left
Plagued by indecision
or I should stay derision
for my own great ability to float on by
asleep; Easing on down
the wide road to indifference.
At which point will I feel enough to care
to move my lump-of-a-potato-chip-
bag, one-beer-after-work-body
towards the electric current of life,
Which is somehow hidden from me
(?)
“Take me, God, to that giant
defibrillator in the sky”
so the volts can grab ahold of my
muscles like some slick trip
make me jump into the moment
with involuntary spasms of
gratitude for the ability to breathe
More, God, yes -
I want that electricity that makes you crave existence.

Slam Poem
In a world where everyone is equal:
This world would rather chew up and spit out our history than acknowledge its divergence, but it forgets that you are what you eat.
2000, a Jewish girl was born with the crucifix glistening around her neck, but the sabbath candles burning brightly in her heart- born In a world where everyone is equal, but I am inferior accustomed to the slurs and colloquial of bitter religious humour: greedy stingy dirty go back to where you came from.
In a world where I everyone is equal, but I am inferior, my religious identity has no place, in correspondence with the dire needs others face. Starvation in Africa, poverty and drought- but our world is too caught up in what makes us different, wars caused by gamblers who manipulate their deck. Politics is not for the faint of heart, but for the meek of mind, playing the world like a violin's strings, detached from the heart.
In a world where everyone is equal, but I am inferior, propaganda promotes policies that stand merely for selfish agendas.
In a world where I everyone is equal, but I am inferior Feminism and gay rights are music to my ears, the way I pray does not dictate the way I see the world's political clay. Black, white, orient, gay, the truth we eat is fed to us by liars, schemed and brewed up when others needs are outstripping dire.
Muslims are not terrorists, nor are Jews, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists too, the world is portrayed strictly in black or white, we are forbidden see the colour behind enemy lines. There isn’t only good and evil, just people, people who're puppet strings turn each other bad. We need to abort the lies and begin thinking for ourselves, we are not robots devoid still of human soul. In a society multicultural like our own, we can’t only stand testament to the ones we see at home. We need to stop seeing within blinkers and begin filing in context, stop being strung along by mediocre politics and begin seeing each other for what we really are, humans, blatant humans who are no bigger than each other. If we are to establish a world agreed on by peace, we need to start looking beyond our own selfish priorities. In a world where everyone is equal, but I am inferior the words I read speak louder than a million blazing microphones, they are not caught up by bias opinions spread in the lounge room at home, they are quiet and powerful need only silence, there are no more deafening things than political injustice riots. The music of Beethoven is sweet to my ears as I listen to the suffragettes sacrificed tears. Napoleon's war cries and the protests for equal rights, fill me with pride and reasons to state my drive. History has been one to deliver me results, so many lives lost to achieve my rightful goals. I am a woman, I am smart- I am strong- I am not inferior to a man just because of my social given gender roles. I am a fighter, a writer and I will not join the crowd. Do u really believe mere force will deny me my rights? Do you think it will stop the bombs raining down on innocent civilians at night?
In a world where everyone is equal, Religion and politics are not what identify us, we are people with brains and we can act how we choose it-  in a world where everyone is equal, I am not part of a politicians political penance, I am my own person and I see the world for its full puzzle.

When I was born they took my bloody body.
And rinsed me off with water.
The pinkish fluid drained away
I was left pale and pure.
My first baptism.
They handed me to my mother.
I was dry, wrapped in a pink swaddle.
And I was named after an olive branch.
I remember being 10 years old at the lake.
Springwater bubbled up and remained ice-cold.
But I swam anyway
I remember driving down into carved limestone.
The tunnel was a wide expanse of temptation.
But when I tried to explore my red mane got caught.
It tangled around the limestone and I couldn’t find my way up.
I saw the bubbles swirl around my head like faeries.
I turned and pressed my feet to the sharpened limstone
And pushed away, ripping a clump of red hair out-
I burst to the surface, feet shredded, and hair matted.
My gasping breaths were shocked by the February air
My second baptism almost stole my life.
When I was twelve I decided I knew God.
Pastor’s taught us to be Christian was to know and be silent.
I was baptized by a man who doesn’t know my name.
The water sprinkled over my blonde hair.
Black knee-high stockings adorned my legs
I know nothing of who I was yet.
My 3rd Baptism feels like a dream.
I was 13.
Her hair was brown and curly.
Smile lines and quiet jokes during pre-algebra
I did not yet know what love was
But I wanted to.
Her arms over her head with macadamia nut freckles.
She is getting married this month.
I smile and remember when she kissed me.
I’m not jealous at all.
They are perfect for one another-
Kissing her-
It was like finally knowing this was right.
Not because it was her.
But because she was a her.
My fourth baptism was with waves of curly brown hair.

QUEEN OF HEAVEN . Mary, dear Mother, God gave you a mission. Which started with your being the very first Christian . If only we all had followed your way, The world would be full of real Christians today. . Oh, Mother, how intense that love Where the holy family dwelt How pleasing to almighty God When the Holy family knelt. . At Cana, He proved His Love Divine, It wasn’t time, but just for you He changed the water into wine. . Even now, it’s just that way, We give you our troubles everyday We know before we ask He will do as you say. . The sword of sorrows pierced your heart But you were always filled You praised God’s glory always Even when His blood was spilled . The crown of thorns became the crown of glory The Queen of Heavens mother of this story

PSALM O Beauty these feet on the Mount our backs in the land this breath in the sea O Greatness a cast in the wind a break in the earth a bend of the knee O Gracious take my feet and hands take my spine and skull take my flesh and blood O Lordly be my eyes and heart turn my faith to works make my heart a flood O Heaven shout us down with praise fold us in the flocks have us rise in song O Kingdoms fill my arms with might give me strength to choose make our good parts strong O Brother take my breast to yours lend your words to speak and your task to toil O Savior eat My Sins as bread drink my guilt as blood douse my flesh in oil. Redeemer bring me to our home hold me in your grasp make my water, wine.
