Sky wielders AU | Interlude

This is just a random thing I thought up while thinking about this AU and a little funny conversation came to me

Some tiny spoilers for the empyrean series

This would take place sometime in the first few weeks of their second year. The iron squad decided to go to Chantarra and get drunk and after they came back to Basgiath, Violet, Liam and Owen decided to try and sober up a bit in the boys' room. They were essentially competing to see who can drink the most water by the point this conversation would take place.

Owen: Dude! You can't say I'm wrong!

Liam: Drink some water Owen, you're still drunk if you think that!

Violet: Hmmm....

Owen: I can basically smell your brain melting from here. Whatchu cookin' in there?

Violet: It's just... Ok, it might just be the alcohol talking, but we have the earth and the sky as power sources, right?

Liam: Yeah?

Violet: So ... Where does that leave water?

Owen: Huh?

Liam: No, no, she's got a point! I'm intrigued now! Go on!

Violet: Alright, so, stories only ever mention the earth or the sky, so that must mean that water must be lumped in with one or the other.

Owen: Ok, real, but which one is it? There's stuff like rivers and the fucking sea, so water's gotta be part of the earth?

Liam: I mean, sure, but there also clouds and rain which are tied to the sky.

Violet: Water's literally everywhere...maybe it's its own source of magic.

Liam: Or! OR! Hear me out! What if water is magic?

Owen: *frog blink* Did someone slip something in your drink, or what?

Liam: No, because it kinda makes sense. Drained land is all dry and cracked up cause magic and water is missing from it. Also, this my be a stretch, but haven't you notice that thunderstorms are a bit more frequent ever since you lot started channeling from the sky? That could be magic trying to fill in the gaps because. Water. Is. Magic!

Violet: Hold on, why does this kinda make sense?!

Owen, looking at his water bottle: Holy shit...

Violet: Gimme, like, five minutes. I need to set up an actual conspiracy board. Holy shit!
