Favorite routes in the games based on each aspect! Let's go:
Gameplay-Mason: His whole route feels like a genuine survival horror game. You know the main character of whatever route you choose is probably going to kill you, but Mason's requires resource management and has tons of different hazards. Couple this with the amount of variation in endings, and it was a great time. I was real proud of myself when I figured out how to get him with the bear trap without a guide. The look of terror on his face when he realized what happened was amazing. If they could put that in a sauce, I would put it on everything.
Music-Derek: The soundtrack fucks. That's all there is to it.
Atmosphere-Fox: It was a terrifying ride where I knew every click was going to unlock a sound effect I couldn't unhear. It towed the line between not as bad as I thought and somehow way worse than I thought. The whole thing taking place in total darkness with the exception of the screens set the tone perfectly.
Worldbuilding-Lawrence: Love his backstory and the whole concept of The River. I'm glad we don't get to know much about it, and we see even less of it, adding to its mystique. I like to imagine it as a giant sentient creature that draws all manner of dead beings to it for some unknowable purpose.
Character-Ren(BTD2): He's an absolute treasure. His problems and motivations are somehow completely strange yet deeply relatable. Ren's depth and characterization is boundless. Somehow literally everything he says or does is hilarious (what do you mean you're surprised I tried to sneak out?!? Why wouldn't you assume that's the first thing I would do?!?). Dude belongs in a Russian novel or something.
Would love to get other people's thoughts. Mod-Demon, I am terribly sorry for clowning on the name 'Larry'. Please forgive 😭😭😭

About the Persona 5 / Ace Attorney Timeline
I've seen a handful of fics engage in crossovers between Ace Attorney and Persona 5, largely along the lines of "So-and-so defends Joker in court" or some other assortment of shenanigans. And those are really fun, because the idea of Sae Niijima or Shido's Lawyers having to put up with Phoenix Wright (or Apollo Justice, or Athena Cykes, or whomever else) is delightful.
But here's the thing.
If we assume 20XX really is 2016 (and its calendar among other things indicates that yes, it is) then Persona 5 starts on April 9th, 2016. With Ren's false assault charges and the subsequent involved trial likely occurring anywhere between a couple weeks to a month beforehand, just so everything could get arranged for him to get registered at Shujin and for Sojiro to get located and convinced to take him in and so on and so forth. My guess is it happened in March, right before the school year started up, leading to his arrival at Shujin being later than the actual start of said school year.
The First Turnabout, Phoenix Wright's debut case, where he defends Larry Butz from a murder charge and honestly only barely gets a Not Guilty verdict by the skin of his teeth, with copious advice and assistance from his mentor, takes place on August 3rd, 2016.
In the games, at least. The anime gives the date of March 26th 2016, but the anime is very wishy-washy with dates and has a handful of other inaccuracies so I trust the games canon more.
In Ren Amamiya were to get a defense attorney from the Ace Attorney series to defend him in court from Shido's fraudulent assault charge, it would not be Phoenix Wright. It would be Mia Fey, who is far more comfortable than any of Phoenix's crew when it comes to dealing with underhanded criminal conspiracies involving large businesses and corruption.
Can you imagine how that would throw LITERALLY EVERYTHING IN BOTH GAMES OFF THE RAILS
Even if things end up going really badly and Mia dies to one of Akechi's mental shutdowns instead of to Redd White, that's still enough of a difference and enough of a divergence to set Phoenix and Maya (and later on Edgeworth, which might possibly mean Franziska too) on the trail to the Antisocial Force. Not to mention regardless of whether or not Mia succeeds in getting Ren a Not Guilty verdict, things are still DRASTICALLY different. If he gets Not Guilty then suddenly Yaldy has to do a lot more work to get his pawn where it needs to go (assuming he doesn't select a different opponent for Akechi entirely). And if Ren is still declared Guilty he'll see how completely destroyed Mia (and her tagalong lawyer trainee Phoenix) are by the verdict after doing everything they can, and be reassured that there will still be at least two adults he can trust, meaning he and the Phantom Thieves will be able to use the lawyers as a resource later down the line. Heck, Mia or Phoenix could even be a Confidant for him. Most likely this would come into play during the Medjed Arc at the earliest (because of Sae bothering Sojiro) and the Shido Arc at the latest (for obvious reasons).
Either way, the Ace Attorney Cast is involved, and provided with a very interesting distraction from the cases that Mia and Phoenix would normally have dealt with that year.
The First Turnabout probably still happens, since Larry will always get his friend to defend him, but Turnabout Sisters probably doesn't happen at all since Mia's pursuing a different conspiracy this time around. Turnabout Samurai might not happen either (though hopefully Will Powers still has a good lawyer). Then in Turnabout Goodbyes the murder happens LITERALLY on Christmas Eve right when the Thieves are facing down Yaldy, which could throw EVERYTHING about that case off when the murder might not even happen on schedule due to Metaverse shenanigans.
(Plus we'd probably get to see Mia Fey and Sae Niijima in the same courtroom and like YES PLEASE)

That ask about Brian being Grians helsmit [I don't know much about helsmit or who Brian is] makes me think that maybe the alter egos are just the helsmit having fun. Grian hates the government but someone has to take care of the permits so Brian stepped up and is having a bit of fun messing with the hermits. Gems helsmit was pretending to be Gem when the snail thing happened, and actual Gem has zero clue about Larry or the pink snail but has a pretty good guess based on how Grian thinks she's in on it. Idk anyone else enough to continue oops something something rendog something
Hels Ren must be working overtime to play that many characters! Or maybe Ren actually has multiple helsmits?

So Ive finished both watching and reading Mickey 17/Mickey 7 its interesting; the movie is of course more dramatic, more conflict based, and with a longer drawn out ending, but the book has the interesting wrinkle that Mickey is interested in history, which in a computerized diaspora universe where earth is all but forgotten is a pretty useless interest to society. The thing that really got me interested in both copies after watching the movie is that Patterson said his mickey17 was him doing a Stimpy voice, so that his Mickey18 could be an angry voice, like Ren, but not really using the accent. and of course we all know that Stimpy's voice is Billy West doing a Larry Fine from the three stooges. The novel and the movie are in the first person, with heavy narration, and that kind of conversational quality with a larry fine/Stimpy voice gives it this old movie quality to me, like its an 'I was a teenage zombie' B movie or to highbrow it, a Sunset Boulevard vibe. Anyway I like most of what they changed about the book. I feel bad for Mark Ruffalo, since I think he was over directed and was kind of playing a different pompous leader every scene. The one thing missing from the movie is that the guy who multipled himself didnt just do it three times, he did it thousands of times, on a planet called Gault (a dig at Ayn Rand) where everyone was a super libertarian and no one did anything for common good, so he would just take over settlements with his multiples, kill everyone and then use their raw materials to print more copies of himself.

Fourth MLM Ship Bracket Propaganda Submissions
Below you will find all of the submitted and approved ships for the Fourth MLM Ship Bracket Tournament along with the form to submit further propaganda at the bottom
This is another opportunity to submit propaganda for your favorite ships. Wether you were unable to submit propaganda for them in the initial form or you spot your favorite ship who has no propaganda submitted. Ships with a strikethrough have propaganda submitted, I will continue to update this post as propaganda is submitted. I will accept further propaganda for ships with already submitted propaganda but please prioritize those with out.
The goal is to have propaganda for all ships but I understand that may not be possible. Therefore I will be leaving the form open for a few weeks to see if we receive propaganda for at least half the ships.
