Who doesn't love tide pools... Better yet who doesn't love San Diego tide pools during the big big King Tides. During King Tide the tide is usually a negative tide and that means the water is low low. The best time for treasure hunting.

We love visiting the central California coast, we have a few secret spots we have found the best tide pools. We haven't really found anything as exciting in the so cal area, so this was a chance to see if so cal could measure up. And it definitely did not disappoint!

So many treasure's we haven't see before. Beginning with the brittle sea star, or brittle star fish. We saw 3 total with the one pictured above as the biggest one. A true delight was the rainbow star, that little booger was hiding in the grass but you can see the little speckled colors through the grass. Super fun!

Bat stars and abalone shells are always super fun. The pink furry looking thing is a nudibranch (type of sea slug) and that black blob with a shell stuck to is a keyhole limpet.

These tide pools are part of Cabrillo National Monument near Point Loma in San Diego.

This is a find, learn, and leave area as is all state and national parks.

All of this times a bazillion! Sitting to write about the human-canine connection and I found an article that covers it well.

I like how he frames wolves and early humans as equals. He gets a bit anthropomorphic but it serves well to make the point. In ordinary circumstances I would never presume to know what a wolf is thinking. I’d be too busy shitting my pants and running away.

Over thousands of years, just like everything else humans touch, they had to break the synergy, destroy and dominate, putting humans (esp. men) as the center and all others their servants, including other humans, also perceived as lesser-than.

I’m rambling on, processing. I’ve been honored to share this canine connection with five beautiful beings in my adult life. Even before I started “adulting” I always felt connected to dogs, I trust them more than most humans.

What’s not to love? Mutual respect, unconditional love and trust, protection, sweet doggy kisses, soul comfort, silly interactions, nuzzles for attention, snuggling for warmth or just because it feels good.

If you are a kid from ages of 12 to 25, listen....

Peer pressure is a thing many of you fall victim to a lot. Pressure to act and do things your friends find cool or hip or trendy. You try to gel with your peers by conforming and that may change you or that may not. Peers make us do horrible things, believe in shit,follow shit and say things we wouldn't otherwise do. You fear if you don't listen to your friends you will lose them or people will mock you so you do your best to fit in. Let me tell you they were a virus to your life from the start.

Also what if I told you, you don't have to fit in ? You don't have to impress the sort of friends who pressurises you. What if I told you that you don't need your peers to survive or be happy? You don't need them. You don't need to put importance on them. Change their company if they are a bother, you must.

And what if I told you that if you see your fake friends attack, you should attack back ? You should fight back. Not stay mum. Throw something at them when they throw something at you. Bully them and with a gang if possible if they pressurise or bully you. Beat them twice if they beat you. Yes you should do mean if they do you mean.

Some friend is doing drugs doesn't mean you must join. What is bad is bad. Let that sink in. A friend is experimenting with labels,flags and sexuality and you hate all that. Then be free to not like all that without feeling any guilt. You are not bound to answer them if you don't like what you don't like.

You are not bound to please the whims of your " fake " friends jumping into passing fads and bandwagons. Stick to your values if you have. Remember, there are many who will try to manipulate and shame and guilt trip you to go with the fad and abandon your God and your religion and your norms. Avoid these people instead of feeling small. Proudly. They will try to beat you into submission. Don't fall for that. ✋

We always follow one thing....its better to be alone than being with people who don't respect you. It's better to abandon them if they are a virus. 🤘

We believe another thing.....Learn to be alone. At first you will be awful. Then you will adjust. Then you will be just fine. It will not feel as awful then. Learning to be alone and building internal locus of control is an immensely powerful too and life skill. Trust us. ✌

Banana spiders. Harmless, and when she is the size of my hand, I admit, I am afraid of her. I had her relocated to the nearby park. I post her because recently I had over an hour of MRIs in the tunnel with grate on my face, with and without contrast. The drs were looking tumor(s) now from my brain down my spine. I had to hold still so that the pictures would line up. I used to be claustrophobic in these tests. Now that they are so frequent, I just have the technicians cover my eyes and I’m ok. I had just finished congratulating myself in the tube for overcoming the fear of confined spaces when it happened. The spider on my face. I felt the long legs move on my cheek. I so wanted to brush it aside and yet I couldn’t move. Instead, I said -“hello, fear,” and I breathed. The spider evaporated. Forced meditation.
