Retrograde sketches. I gotta inspire myself to start working on this. I drew Moon as a 'constellation', one of the beings that can exist in the void without light.

the lack of support is stifling though - especially when the few people who support you are only online and you don't even know them
I am being so serious when I say: if you have the financial and time privilege to get a group of friends together and make an indie project, PLEASE do. Indie games, indie animations, indie comics etc etc
the art industries are kind of in the shitter. It’s not so much because of AI (though that doesn’t help) but because studios just aren’t hiring people and funding projects anymore. People who’ve been in the industry for decades are finding themselves struggling, and once you have a mortgage or kids it’s harder to do something as risky as making something on your own.
completing projects is hard. it takes a lot of time and effort, and most people can’t afford it. so if you CAN afford to make art, even at the risk of no financial gain, I strongly encourage you to be as resilient as you can. We’re at a point where these industries are not going to turn around by themselves, and waiting for jobs to open up again in order to get experience and portfolio work might not be realistic.
people have been making art and telling stories longgggg before we were getting paid for it, and people aren’t going to stop just because no one has hired them to do so.
for everyone else: support indie artists when you can!!!! That person who made that cool indie game or youtube animation or webcomic might be doing this full time! your support might be the only reason they’re able to keep doing it.
and if you have already started an indie project: you’re so brave and I’m very proud of you!!! in fact, drop a link to it in the reblogs if you want! 👇

Wait but. If the Time War is the endgame of the War In Heaven (by the daleks being either the Enemy, the proxy of the Enemy, the Weapon of the Enemy, or were retroactively made to be the Enemy), or more precisely if it is what the War devolves into (restriction of the temporal fronts and time locks), how can trey be the War Queen and Romana II abdicate in the early day of the Time War unless the process of transition from the Enemy to the Daleks or to making the Enemy into the Daleks somehow involves retroactively retrograding the president. Or well. Queen. It somehow does involve a turn back in terms of timelines on at least one Gallifrey, making there being (even more) multiple romanas and that's probably true for most of her entourage at both ends of the split

Js realized I never posted this guy but I have ocs other than Nico I swear lmaoo
This is Noah, formerly known as Micah Vance before he got fucked over by slender man as they all do and ws hit with a healthy dose of cloud strife style retrograde amnesia + identity theft.
Full character file and details under the cut! Be warned– it’s LONG:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
‘ ‘ did you say something, what’d you say?... ‘ ‘
‘ ‘ was that your voice, or was that me? ‘ ‘
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
N A M E
Noah Rivers
A L I A S
The ghost
A G E
22
G E N D E R
Male, he/him
S E X
Male
Noah is a human operator proxy.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I've never been fucking scared of you," He snapped, and Noah grabbed his jaw.
"I've always hated that."
"What?"
"How often you lie through your fucking teeth."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
A P P E A R A N C E
The most notable thing about Noah is his mask. It's drawn over crudely with charcoal, smudged all over, black around the eyes, the nose, the mouth. But the features are visible. The nose is sharp and angular, and the lips are drawn in a thin line. He wears it so often it's more like his face than his actual face. The only time he takes it off is when he's asleep, and sometimes not even then. His actual face, the one under the mask, has a scar that drags from above his right eyebrow down across his nose to his left jawline. His face is slim, angular, edges hazy against a monochromatic color scheme. The structure of his face is proportionate but it’s usually frowning, brows furrowed, mouth cut into a scowl. His features look like they were cut from alabaster or marble. Would’ve been pretty, maybe, in another universe. His eyes should've been black, but one of them is blinded, grayed over, and the other seems perpetually suited for low light. They are upturned, half lidded at a default and followed by bags, lines, and dark circles. They look bruised or dusky in color. He's bad with bright lights. He has black hair, cut choppy and messy, like he did it himself. His skin is so pale it's almost a sort of gray, the kind that suggests he doesn't see sun often. Lips chapped and dry, always cracked and bleeding, same with his hands, long black nails he likes painting for a reason he can't fully explain. They make his already slender fingers appear longer than they are. Almost clawlike. Noah is thin. He's tall, taller than he remembers, standing at 5’11”. He's built like an alley cat, all sinew and muscle, sharp shoulders, sharp bones. Scars all over his body. Some are new, from fights, other's he's had before he can remember in odd, purposeful places.
V O I C E
Baritone
Rough, and unused. When speaking his voice is barely above a whisper. He’s one of those people with a voice so low you have to lean in to listen. There’s an edge to his tone, a slight southern drawl. Sometimes the things he says sound more like they’re coming from a machine than a person. His voice is muffled when it’s under the mask, he compensates by being slightly louder.
S C E N T
His scent isn’t something that’s easy to pinpoint. It’s almost sterile, but not hospital sterile. He kind of smells like the woods.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
‘ ‘ how many times did i tell you
before it finally got through? ‘ ‘
‘ ‘ you lose. ‘ ‘
‘ ‘ you lose. ‘ ‘
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
C O M B A T
Noah has heightened strength and speed, but he’s still human. A human that ignores the capabilities of his own body, but human nonetheless. He’s a skilled fighter, can hold his own against nearly anyone when weapons aren’t involved. He doesn’t like knives. Helpless with them, helpless against them. Noah is a firearms sort of guy. Always has a gun on him, either a pistol, or when he’s hunting he has a rifle. He’s interesting during fights. A textbook masochist. Pain doesn’t elicit the same reaction from him as it would for most other people. At best, hell ignore it, at worst, he’s drunk on it.
P E R S O N A L I T Y
Noah doesn’t remember much about his life before meeting the operator, if anything. There are glimpses of a history that doesn’t feel like his in the back of his mind, or when he’s half asleep, or when his brain turns off and he isn’t really thinking. Those are his favorite moments. Where he can pretend he isn’t himself. He’s a murderer. He’s quiet, and secretive, and temperamental. What might’ve at one point been a charming persona, dulled and narrowed itself down to a chassis unrecognizable to people who knew him when he was younger. He’s quick to anger. Restless when things are calm, and when he feels alright. He’s never actively antagonistic, but he doesn’t like other people, and his skin itches for instability. He can never hold down a relationship. Of any kind, platonic, romantic. Always ends up ruining it somehow. And he likes it that way. He doesn’t even know why he’s so angry, he just is. His internal world is indecipherable, even to him. He’s constantly mixing things up, getting things wrong, getting distracted, forgetting things. Which is strange, because in the abstract he’s intelligent. There are moments where it seems like he’s lucid, and he’s calm, easy going, likable, even. He has a dry sense of humor that on boys like him feel more charismatic than it actually is. But the neuroticism always comes back eventually. He isn’t Noah without the neuroticism. Maybe he isn’t Noah at all.
B A C K S T O R Y
He isn't. He grew up as a boy named Micah. A different person, honestly. Relatively normal, all things considered. Had parents, friends, a boyfriend, people that cared about him. A trajectory that should’ve been normal. He would’ve graduated highschool, gone to college, him and his boyfriend would break up and he’d marry a girl, or they wouldn’t and they’d end up together only to divorce later, or something. He thought domestic bliss was a stupid concept. Would give anything for it now.
The operator in his hometown was a story you told to kids. They called him the thin man. Micah and his friends would play in the woods on the outskirts of Haven, hunt for bird eggs, mark fake trails, the woods were sparse enough to not really worry about getting lost or losing each other, you could walk in any direction and reach a clearing in half an hour, or so, until you reached the deepwood, but no one went in there. Not even him. Haven was famous for having people go into that part of the woods and never come out. They said it’s because it was so disorienting, that you could walk in without even realizing it, and before you know it all the branches look the same and you can’t see a path. But when he was nineteen he went in. And he met the reason why no one ever really left those woods.
The concept of a proxy was weird to him. Someone that worked for an invisible force of nature you couldn’t see, but you could feel, and Micah felt him in the form of thick static at the back of his neck. Then again, he was drugged the entire time. It might’ve been that. The man who’d kidnapped him was named Noah. He was older, had a limp, a face he covered up by some sort of mask. Micah couldn’t remember. But he remembered his hands. They were unstable, shook constantly, leathery skin, or maybe gloves. Felt like fire. He remembered the way they’d palpitate when he took a blade, dragged it down his face, or somewhere else on his body. And this man, Micah would think to himself in a sedated haze, would use those hands to kill him. There was no universe where he got out of here in one piece.
The brain does fascinating things under extreme trauma. Noah would’ve made a brilliant psychiatrist in the 50s, because he’d triggered an artificial disassociation in Micah that helped him survive the ordeal at all. Mind over matter, he’d think, over, and over, and over, mind over matter. If he liked how much it hurt it wouldn’t be so bad. He’d make himself like it. If he missed home, his boyfriend’s stupid face so much he wanted to die, he’d tell himself he didn’t miss any of it at all. Where was he now? They’d gotten into a fight the last time he remembered, he wasn’t looking for him, wouldn’t save him, it was a waste of energy he didn’t have the luxury to sacrifice. The sedative helped. He didn’t know what it was. Some sort of depressant. His mind reeled, ran, sludged, brain into liquid. He wondered if Noah did this to everyone. Whatever that static was, it never shut up. A constant, ear grating buzz. Red noise. He’d get sick, Noah would laugh at him. He hated Noah. Hated Noah’s voice, his shaking hands, the smug sort of way he’d talk to him like he’d already won, like he’d already killed him. And he really should’ve. Noah was arrogant. Didn’t think he needed a gun for him, even though he had dozens lining the wall of his basement, an arsenal. And he didn’t. It wouldn’t have been difficult to kill someone locked to a chair and half awake. He was just an idiot. Let Micah slip out, let him kill him. His death was anticlimactic. A face pumped full of lead, features torn asunder. But the static was too loud all of a sudden, and he was nauseous, and his vision dimmed.
The amnesia paired itself with some delusion disorder, courtesy of the operator, he’d realize. He didn’t recognize his face, or his body, a perpetual state of psychosis, of dysphoria. Noah was the strongest thing in his mind. The last thing he really remembered. Maybe that’s why he latched onto the name. The memory of him. Or a voice he didn’t recognize told him it was him, that it was the only thing he made sense. This was Noah’s cabin, he recognized it, recognized the rooms, the temperature, the basement, the bloody, empty spot on the floor where something should’ve been. And then Noah’s cabin turned into his cabin. Noah’s mind turned into his mind. Some things scared him. He didn’t understand why his hands didn’t shake anymore, why he couldn’t stand to see his own face. But he clings to anything familiar. The thin man is familiar. He does what it tells him to.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
“you had no right to kill him.”
A voice said, from nowhere and everywhere all at once, register so alien and low it made his heart flatten to the pit of his stomach.
“a life for a life. your kind values equivocal exchange, no?”

Retrograde Revision 5: Beast-Bonded Witch
Tumblr media
(art by SirTiefling on DeviantArt)
Ah yes, the first witch archetype I did here on the blog. In the original entry I was so excited to talk about the witch class as a whole that I barely talked about the archetype at all.
In any case, the Beast-Bonded Witch!
It’s no secret that witches have especially strong bonds with their familiars, only rivaled perhaps by shamans. After all, these practitioners of the old ways depend on their familiar to store their spells and provide a link between them and their patron.
However, there are those that take this a bit further, developing the magical bond between them and their familiar for various benefits, changing their familiar and in turn having their familiar change them as well.
Such mages might carry symbols or wear clothing that evokes the species or family that their familiar belongs to, while others are more subtle in that regard. Either way, there’s no denying how strong the bond between them is.
Sometimes, These mystics might prefer if their little companion learns new techniques instead of themselves, and some of the beast-bonded do just that, sacrificing their own capacity for growth to infuse the knowledge of new techniques into the magical bond that already grants the familiar intelligence beyond it’s own species. Of course, if the familiar dies, the witch can choose to reclaim said capacity if they so desire.
Their strong bond also somewhat accelerates the development of the normal powers and enhancements that familiars gain.
Just as their familiar grows, the nature of the familiar affects the witch in kind. As such, these witches learn how to shapeshift into forms associated with their familiar. This is not limited to the same exact species as the familiar, but anything else in the same clade. A beast-bonded witch with a cat familiar, for example, might shapeshift into a lion, tiger, or panther, for example.
At greater levels of mastery, their bond becomes so strong that the familiar and witch alike can serve as a vessel for the other when one dies or is near death, allowing the practitioner to perhaps save themselves with a healing hex from within the familiar, or the two souls to flee the battlefield to seek aid in resurrecting the fallen one elsewhere.
There are also some recommendations for hexes with this archetype, including those that let them charm animal and humanoid alike, bolster their familiar or look through it’s senses, speak with animals, provide wards, and even curse foes with a lesser animal form.
This is a fun and thematic archetype offering ways to make the duo of witch and familiar even stronger. With the built-in beast shape, the witch has access to potentially several forms for scouting or combat, making stealth and combat viable things to consider, though I’d also like to recommend lots of fun animal-themed spells like baleful polymorph and whatnot.
Some witches might use their familiars as a mere proxy for their patron, and that may suit them depending on the nature of their patron. Not so with these practitioners. Their bond demands that they have a proper relationship with their familiar, so definitely take some time to explore what that may be.
Gnak Skin-wearer is a cruel old man, betrothed to a patron of transformation, the Lady of Many Shapes. He is rumored to be able to take the shape of many beasts, but his favorites are those of cats. Townsfolk tell their children not to go near his one-eyed cat when it wanders into town, but no one dares to harm it, though they won’t say why.
Throughout her life, Irma of Canenbow has had to fight for her survival, cast out for her tiefling heritage. This anger attracted the attention of her patron, a spirit of vengeance who granted her the retaliatory ferocity of her pet snapping turtle, Dymblewyrd.
Though not true druids, the beast-bonded witches of Blackwood have received a rare honor, being inducted into the circle of druids. However, when dark powers begin to manifest in their forest, the druids are quick to accuse the witches of harboring a member with a fell patron, whose presence corrupts the natural order.

Uuuh...
Here is the list of the characters(the first part),whose stories and existence are possible to find in this AU - Traumatic Pasta: (‼️TW:Mentions of SA,selfharm, violence, child neglect, alcoholism‼️)
I also need to notice, that everything in this universe happens in early 2010s (wanna avoid all the questions about character's age,so just telling you in case you care :P)
🍭🫀 - Laughing Jack: used to kill children, making their death the most horrible, painful, gruesome and disgusting, but now he's a babysitter for all the pastas.Of course,Jack would rather die than be a lovely housewife till the end of his existence, but he has to, because of having a debt to the faceless mf.It is a story for another post, but to be short,Slenderman is the current owner his soul, who's giving L.J protection from angels out of Heavenly Office, who wanted to send him to the hell after his ward Isaac(since L.J is a paradise twink,I formed a theory, that he,unlike other entities, can possibly have soul).
The clown is irritated by every noise and cough, emotional as fuck and can barely bear the existence of the children of the mansion (exceptions: Sally and Toby. They're mama's innocent kittens forever and no matter what).
👔🐙 - Slenderman: actually, fella doesn't give any fuck about the fact of a bunch of mentally unstable teens living in the mansion located in the middle of the forest under his wing, because it's not his,but only Jack's concerns. His only goals are to use this emo gang in his own interests,so he barely cares of the poor ones' physiological condition and mental health.
Slenderman is extremely cold and arrogant towards everyone, even to Jack.To be honest, it's the whole event,if he shows up in the mansion to give his proxies orders about next missions and call Jackie's tartlets a piece of shit.
🧸🖍️ - Sally Williams: the poor one is a doomed spirit, who has got accidentally adopted by Slenderman (he just picked her soul up,carried it to Jack and then was like:"Here,do whatever you want with it").Sally doesn't remember, how she has got into the mansion and the abuse provided to her by her uncle. The girl doesn't even know, that she's dead and travels between two worlds in her ghosty head - the first one is cute and adorable with unicorns and glitter and the second one is just...just the reality with all the goofy monsters there.
Sally's actually a cute bun, who's really easy to get distracted with some silly activities (drawing or playing, for example).Sometimes she's whiny and moody as any other alive child. Her favourite activities are getting on Jack's nerves and following Slenderman around.
Mental illnesses:
-Canon: honestly,I haven't found anything certain about Sally's mental health problems (except the fact, that she gets anxious,if her uncle is mentioned, which could be some kind of the first symptoms of PTSD,if I'm not wrong).
-Headcanon: retrograde amnesia,psychosis.
🧇🪓 - Toby Rogers: he's a mentally unstable teen around 16-17.His backstory in this au is pretty similar to the original one.The only exception is,that he hasn't burnt the whole neighborhood - instead,he was sponsored by the faceless mf with an axe from the garage, killed his abusive father and then a few more innocent people on his way to the forest. That's the reason, why he's feeling a bit of guilt because of having blood on his hands (not his father's one, ofc).
Toby had never experienced any kind of healthy family dynamic,so,when he had started living under Slendy's care,he quickly got attached both to L.J and Slenderman, seeing parental figures in them. He's literally the one,who gets nervous, when two entities have arguments and always tries to bring them together.
Mental illnesses:
-Canon: BPD,analgesia,Tourettes Syndrome.
-Headcanon: ADHD, generalized anxiety disorder (I dunno,if it's allowed to use GAD,so yeah).
🚬💊 - Tim Wright: he's an old mf in his early thirties. After beating all the shit out of Jay on the parking place,he decided to escape from the state and then (what a surprise!) got caught by the slendy fucker again,so he just...gave up?
Understanding his own helplessness in the situation,he decided to take its course, letting Masky follow Slenderman's orders and himself just becoming a drunkard, who tries to lose his consciousness of the whole desperation in alcohol.
Mental illnesses:
-Canon: in Marble Hornets' series it is noticed, that Tim has been suspected in having schizophrenia in his childhood, but it has never been proved or disproved,so I won't try to say something certain on this topic<:)
-Headcanon: DID (alter - Masky),Korsakoff's Syndrome (due to alcohol),CPTSD (thanks to faceless daddy;333).
🎭🔪 - Masky: Tim's alter. If the host for the current moment of plot is an always drunk to vomit vegetable,Masky is a cold-blooded murderer with no morals and whose only goal is following Slenderman's orders. In spite of being hated by Tim with all his soul,Masky himself is pretty neutral to him.He tries to care as much as he want and can about the body's health, preventing any suicide attempts or extreme self harm, but at all he only does it to keep body decent for missions.Plays the role of trauma holder and protector.
🎨🩸 - Bloody Painter: a murderous sicko with passion for art.He is one of the killers, whose determination of reality is the least broken,so all his felonies are done just because of the lack of moral.
It's really rare to see Helen anywhere out of his working place in the mansion. He even prefers to eat in his room, avoiding "family dinners".In communication with others Helen shows himself like a polite young man with high manners, but he still tries to avoid any contact with other pastas.
Mental illnesses:
-Canon: some wiki pages notice, that Helen is in autistic spectrum,so I'll add it here too:)
-Headcanon:body dysmorphophobia (due to the trauma tied up with his parents and their will to have a girl, not a boy).
That's all for today.I'm going to upload the rest a little bit later!:D
I don't have any decent arts for this post,so here you have the ones I've made with L.J and others for my friends.

I'm so happy I get to experience your writing again! And it was so fun to read your take on James as a fireman) I hope you are well!
And 31 and 33 for the ask game
thank you for the kind words and the ask!🥲🥲🥹 more fireman james coming soon! :)
31. What fic meant the most to you to write?
Great question. So many of my stories mean a lot to me for different reasons. Like, for example, Potter Exposed because it was the first novel length story I ever completed and I'm not sure anything I've written since would've happened without that jump starting my writing back in 2020. But I guess in retrograde has a really special place in my heart. And Then the Symphony Starts would probably be a close second. I better end it there or I'll just keep adding more fics to this list until I've named them all 😅
33. A character you want to protect.
I feel like I should pick someone from the MWPP era but honestly the first character that came to mind was Harry. He's Jily's baby so kinda like our little guy by proxy, right? And he really goes through it in the books. :')

So, just like my previous post on the First Stoat's names let's look into the new information we found out in the latest episode (Burrow's End episode 8 spoilers under the cut)
So let's get the most important thing out of the way first, cause there's a lot to go through here: Obviously, Phoebe also means light - the name originates from the Ancient Greek word φοῖβος (phoibos) for "pure", "bright", "radiant" etc.
The word itself was used as an epithet for the sibling deities Apollo (god of, among other things, sun and prophecy) and Artemis (goddess of, among other things, the moon, wild animals, and the hunt). They inherit this name from their grandmother, the Titaness Phoebe who is associated by proxy with the moon and prophecy, but not actually a deity of anything. For her, it seems to be mostly a name, while it is used more akin to a title for her grandchildren.
In honour of Phoebe the Titan, one of the moons of Saturn has been named after her. It is called an irregular satellite, meaning it follows an eccentric, distant orbit which also happens to be retrograde (aka it moves opposite to the rotation of the body it orbits). With a diameter of 213km Phoebe is the most massive of Saturn's irregular satellites, and the second largest retrograde satellite in the Solar System (after Neptune's moon Triton).
There is a Phoebe mentioned in the Bible (New Testament, Paul's Epistle to the Romans). She is described as a deacon (apparently the only woman named as a deacon in the Bible) and Paul speaks highly of her - from skimming the Wikipedia article on the biblical Phoebe this part seems to be some kind of letter of recommendation. It is unclear, what community Paul intends to recommend her to, but some scholars seem to believe that she was, in fact, the emissary who delivered Paul's epistle to Rome in the first place.
(Incidentally, the aforementioned Wikipedia article mentions that the Catholic Church puts her feast day on September 3rd which is my birthday, and my chosen name is Paul, which has nothing to do with this meta, but I just found it funny.)
Anyways. There is also a species of bird called Phoebe in the tyrant flycatcher family (aka Tyrannidae); they live on insects and originally got their scientific name from being loudly territorial and aggressive. And since we, apparently, don't have enough things called Phoebe yet, there's also a genus of evergreen laurels called Phoebe.
To me, this paints a vivid picture: A Titan specifically known for being the progenitor of the Sun and Moon deities, somebody associated with prophecy ("She'll come back" comes to mind as a pertinent prophecy we have on her right now). Phoebe is, of course, the only female First Stoat we have encountered so far. I have a few unformed thoughts on the whole 'emissary' bit (which is, arguably, the piece of information with the least solid grounds presented here; but still, why is Phoebe gone from Last Bast in the first place? Is she an emissary sent by the First Stoats to somewhere else/the humans? How did the First Stoats conquer Warren Peace originally - they didn't just do that on their own, maybe they are the 'emissaries' sent there to actively sabotage the plant?).
The one thing I am certain of, is that First Stoat Phoebe is going to be just as territorial and aggressive as her Tyrannidae namesakes, if not more so.

Saturn-Neptune Downloads:
Tumblr media
^ Credit to zva on Pinterest.
So, here's what was the big winner in that poll from a while ago. The next few topics will only come out in succession so that's just FYI.
Note: there's gonna be another poll at some point into regards of what's in my drafts and y'all will pick which one gets released. For now, we'll focus on the poll we recently finished at hand.
NEXT UP:
-> Texas Delineation (That's gonna be fun)
-> Florida Delineation (this one just came to mind, I have yet to figure out what's to come soon with this one)
-> RFK Jr Delineation (alert: TEEEAAAAAAAA)
Now with that out of the way, more under the cut. THERE'S A SHIT TON so when I meant 'Garden Variety', I meant it. LMAO. Have fun and stay blessed y'all.
due to the nature of Pluto in Aquarius (and Uranus by rulership/proxy), there's gonna be an air of "building your own network", so and so forth.
🔹 so don’t be surprised about delving into these few things or at least acquiring them:
A NAS server
! there's plenty of videos on the internet about how to set one up and what it takes.
Old “outdated” technology
Pinterest is a good place to take a gander but do your research.
Skills to protect yourself against viruses* (digital and literal)
Endless satisfaction and relief comes from this if you keep learning about it.
Oh yeah, everything is also gonna hafta be built up from the ground. Neptune has done enough to cause irreplaceable damages to systematic corrosion/corruption. Saturn compiling on trying to “set the record straight” with Pisces and ultimately falling short too of that. Due to 29° being where Neptune is, the Arean heart of fire can be felt hammering from beyond, so it makes sense why everyone is so fucking scared to show who they truly are. Because either way, whatever you like, it’s gonna be scrutinized. War is scrutiny anyways on such a large level. So why not put on the helmet and scream FUCK IT, let’s do it!
Im also getting "only way to find out is to knock it out". Hell, "knock 'em dead sister" came through. (Me and the spirits have a lot of fun over here haha)
Bad faith perspectives and bad actors are gonna primarily get the brunt of that flame (those that own up to their bad faith and change are gonna have saintlike qualities. But have the level headedness of a modern layperson. Humility.) One of the prime examples I’m channeling? Dr Disrespect in all actuality. He recognized he screwed up! We’re so quick to fall into seeing the words “p-phile” and so n’ so forth that we lose sight of their acknowledgement of their horrible mistakes.
The color red is prominent of course. So wearing/branding with red colors during these next 14 years is gonna be peak. Bold contrast too. Indie/VSCO was prominent with Pisces in Bold colors. Aries in Bold colors is more Brutalist-like/Korn/Mudvayne.
In terms of aesthetics with Pluto in Aqua combined with Neptune in Aries, im getting Tony Hawk pro-skater on the Xbox. Not to mention jackass and post-grunge revival. Creed even?
Another thing about the cusp between both "paradigms" is that with the current retrograde going on (and with saturn/neptune only being ten degrees apart of each other), its much akin to a small reprave in energies. Its letting up a little just to allow some space to breathe before another 'big crunch'.
A few of my friends irl suggest that these are akin to 'labor pains' in childbirth. Those contractions getting shorter and shorter apart in time length. If there's anything I can link between that to this by way of the planetary movements, this is more of a quicker effect of Pluto's energies. If Pluto is already at the beginning degrees of Aquarius, then this transit also enhances those 'contractions' into a new astrological (and societal) dynamic.
These labor similarities are exquisitely funny. I just heard, "you certainly can't slow down now; stop clenching and start pushing; spread your feet apart so the head can get through".
On point of that last sentence, Pisces rules the feet while Aries rules the head. So if there's one thing, we're gonna be charging forth reaaaaaalllllll soon. This retrograde period is merely a small break in between 'contractions', so once these two go direct, take a breath and hold on. We're going to be sprinting for the starting line.
The unconscious collective is starting to run out of room for our faith to stay. And a lot of that is negative/bad faith, so it's about time that it starts to show up/get out of the system.
I'm also interested in seeing what continues with the internet. I still sense something related to a return/transformation to the old web in a sense. FOR AI BTW: (which on a small tangent: I asked IF the AI bubble will pop, the sun came through -- HARD YES -- then I pulled two more (for how it'll turn out) and evidently shuffled to get the seven of cups added with five of pentacles not that long after -- evidently, the ai bubble is gonna leave tech bros broke as fuck whining for money (and these only apply to money hungry corpos btw, in terms of people I have a gut feeling that if regular joe peeps (or rich peeps willing to be legitimately generous to the masses) made ai, everything is gonna be for the most part chill), so after the bubble pops, expect more scams/distrust with big tech to come through like crazy. On what courses of action will lead to the pop, we have ace of wands reversed, two of pentacles reversed and page of swords -- first thing to come to mind is a bunch of mismanagement on both the innovative field and creative field. Not to mention the financial turnout is also gonna be affected big time. Page of swords does suggest people that aren't initially viable to the field will be the proprietors in this. But I have a feeling that with time they'll master the craft better and AI will ultimately be properly regulated under a small, small fraction of government that doesn't have total control neither. I know, big stretch but I have faith.)
But back on topic for web 3.0, there's talks (and promises?) that Patreon of all things will ultimately lead to this new branch of internet.
Here's more on that Patreon-leading-3.0:
youtube
youtube
And if there's anything I'd know, is that Neptune is the internet's dominant planet from my calculations back in my data post on the internet's astrology. So once Neptune goes into Aries, expect how Aries naturally exists to be the main way people interact on the internet. Emotionally? Direct and honest. Speech? Quick and candid. Action style? Strong and assertive. But is passive aggressiveness tied to this? Yes, but it's gonna be looked at in a way where it embodies 'bro wtf are you yapping about?' because Aries knows when someone is delulu. It points it out and cusses you out. Thought the internet rage was bad before? NOW it has PURPOSE. Yet, I see same can't be said for the opposite. What is gonna be hard is distinguishing if that person really has a full reason to be angry. So now receipts are gonna be pulled on people who are always pissy. It'll instead be "bro you're more caring about THIS. why are you so focused on THIS?" and not "you're x, y, z???? FUCK YOU."
Now with Neptune ruling the arts and entertainment, and Aries being indie-pendant ..... ifyoucaughtmydriftimproudofyouhaha-- but YEAH, more from 'ground-up' groups might be the way to go. Decentralized (Pluto in Aqua) systems, establishments and groups in the arts will be commonplace if not fully accepted into the work force as a viable career. It'll continue to fight for itself, and I have no doubt it'll be recognized in the future, but good lord y'all. It'll be pretty sweet to see something like that. SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESSES Y'ALL
Let your creativity shine people. After all the sun is exalted in Aries. And the sun (with its chromosphere -- all colors) is defined by its ruling fifth house; the place where your creativity shines. So, sun conjunct Neptune in Aries transits fixing to be pretty wild. Maybe those become release dates for something? We may never know.
Songs I've channeled (or kept in rotation cause the 'pangs' of the ingress are imminent):
youtube
youtube

youtube
"The [two] Fish are tethered together in the sky. One wants to go on land to evolve (and ultimately heal) to become The Ram, while the other wants to go on and live in the shallow waters. The two will ultimately separate and find their group." -- Another channeled message
Yeah, Neptune in Aries is lookin' like a lot of fun ahead of where we're at now.
I would have more but that's what I got so far.... no more downloads for a while.

Books of 2024
So turns out, most of the books I read last year were astrology related. Not all, but honestly enough. It was such a relief to be reading again. I feel like time constraints and mobile Internet has really buggered me for reading books in the past year. Here's my reading list for the past year, from best to worst.
Astrological Aspects by Dane Rudhyar and Leyla Rael
This is maybe the single most exciting astrology book I've ever read. It is a delightfully modernist reframing of astrology from placements to processes, using the lunar cycle as a metaphor for all cycles between any two planets. It basically makes astrology dynamic in this way that was completely new to me while explaining how orbits and retrogrades actually work and giving a theory for understanding the less common aspects. This book has honestly changed how I read any astrological chart or read an ephemeris. After I read it, I had to stop doing astrology for months and go back to complete basics and I'm better off for having done that.
Pluto, The Astrological Lodge of London
Okay I love this book both as an astrologer and a historian. Basically it's a collection of articles from the journal of the Astrological Lodge discussing what Pluto means, starting from its discovery and working till the 80s.
It's an interesting look at how Astrological meaning gets created, but also folk memory - there's a story of a boy getting buried on the beach that gets told and retold every few years for decades as it slowly moves away from what actually happened and becomes a story about a boy who was saved from drowning in a hole he had dug, and as he was getting out an astrologer rushed to the scene and asked his mother for the boy’s birth time. Which, I mean, imagine if astrologers did that.
As a historian what I love about this book is that Astrology is one of those fields where people from radically different political persuasions can discuss politics via a proxy subject. This book has really early queer rights campaigners, feminists, Tories, even an article from an open pre war nazi sympathiser, discussing politics and the future and what they see in the astrology of famous figures. It's a little snapshot into the kind of conversations people had and how they changed with time and it's quite interesting to see. I didn't love the pro Nazi article but I did love imagining the author having to watch her ideology be so thoroughly and humiliatingly destroyed in the few years after she wrote it down.
The Epic of Gilgamesh
I loved reading a properly old myth that's also this really fascinating love story between two guys. I especially like the bit where Enkidu is scared to go on a quest but goes along, then Gilgamesh keeps having nightmares and every time Enkidu wakes him up and comforts him, and tells him it's a good sign. I love how it ends with a description of Uruk, the city is very much the third character in this story for me. Like New York with Sex and the City. There's a lot to this book that I think will stick with me.
The True History of Sun Sign Astrology, Kim Farnell
Not really an astrology book, more a history for astrologers. The only astrology book I've ever read that claims Taylor Swift changed the face of astrology forever. It isn't about the history of astrology we generally discuss as astrologers. Instead it focuses on a string of usually middle or working class people who did popular astrology, and the kind of people who consumed astrology content. This is really interesting because it means the book talks a lot about the books people with low education levels read; how popular publishing worked in the 17th century; how people became autodidacts and built a following; how British laws up into the mid twentieth century meaningfully restricted people in the new age woo fields I exist in; and how people fought back. I think it could reasonably be interesting to non astrologers just as a slice of life history.
The Science of Foreknowledge, Sepharial
A fascinating book for astrologers or students of Edwardian occultism. Sepharial made the bold claim, in 1918, that a new planet would be discovered to fill a gap he saw in astrology and whatever name it was given, it would be most appropriate to call it Pluto. And here we are. The astrologers of the 1930s when Pluto was discovered and named were understandably impressed.
The other big thing in this book is a discussion of second moon sightings. This was a popular form of unexplained aerial phenomenon at the time, and I miss it I think we should bring it back. He uses the timing of second moon sightings to create an ephemeris for the moon he called Lilith. But not all sightings fit the pattern. You know, because this is made up. So he created a third moon to explain it. It was a wild moment for me when a second imaginary moon hit the ephemerides. I love that we still use Lilith today and just ignore the original meaning.
There's so much sheer nonsense in this book. Like, made up events, a poor understanding of economics, and the whole moon thing. It's cute. I love it.
Who's Afraid of Gender, Judith Butler
Judith Butler creates an argument about the nature of gender in right wing thought, which is basically that they've folded all their fears into the one thing, and built an international movement to do so. They have really interesting things to say about the international nature of the anti-gender movement. How money and concepts flow between regions and get tied into things like colonialism and religion.
They're far less interesting when they talk about the British anti trans movement because they act like it's a feminist movement and feed their critique of it onto that without really acknowledging the role of American money or the British home grown hard right. And the critique of gender critical feminism as theory seems weird in that it doesn't really dwell on transmisogyny. So there's some real let downs there. But also, you know, Judith Butler is a core thinker in the field and where they're good they're super insightful.
Healing Pluto Problems, Donna Cunningham
There's a few really core books on Pluto and this one was probably my favourite. It was also the first of many books I read in Pluto in 2024, so I don't remember it so well, but it talks about guilt, death, sexual assault, fear, all the big Pluto things. It gives good guidance for consulting when hard things come up for clients. It's a classic and it deserves to be a classic.
The Twelve Houses, Howard Sasportas
This is a really good grounding on thinking about the Houses. Though that means it runs into the core problem I have with astrology books in general. Lots of repetition as it goes through all the planets in all the signs. It is a useful book, but very dated in places. For instance it contains an example of a Catholic guy that I don't think you'd treat so charitably these days, because there's a zero percent chance that this is a story that ended well, maybe skip the next paragraph if you're sensitive to such things. :
“I did a chart for a very religious man with Chiron in the 5th who was tortured by sexual desires for pubescent girls and boys. Through psychotherapy and prayer, he has successfully transmuted these urges into constructive channels and expresses his love of children by working as a tutor and counsellor for ‘problem’ adolescents.”
Saturn, a New Look at an Old Devil, Liz Greene
This is a really sophisticated and good look at Saturn, and a real classic for giving a psychologically astute view of the planet in astrology and you can really feel her influence in modern astrology. Which sadly makes her work… kinda boring in places? It felt like a slog. It rarely challenged me though I ended up with a better understanding of Saturn from it. I don't think the book was as boring as I thought, but it was that old problem - a list of attributes by house and therefore structurally a lot of repetition in the narrative.
The Planetary and Lunar Nodes, Dane Rudhyar
I like Dane Rudhyar, and this book didn’t bore me. The model he gives for applying Planetary Nodes, treating them as the taking on and releasing of the planets energies, is cool. He also starts to create a theory of using the Earth's solar cycle as a basis for understanding the planetary nodes.
It's this low on the list primarily because we have the data to know more than him. We know that at present the Mars North Node for everyone alive is between Aries, Taurus, Gemini, and Cancer. Dane Rudhyar gives just one point and says they don't change much. He also says the south node is always opposite the north node, which is trye for the Moon but not for the planets. Maybe it's because he's using mean and my ephemeris uses interpolated calculations. But you get the sense that he maybe lacked the data we have, or at least didn't think he'd need to explain what he was doing to someone with different data to hand easily. So I don't know. He was infinitely smarter than me and more educated, but if I'm missing something here I'm not sure how to account for that and he doesn't tell us. So it just looks like misinformation to me.
New Stars For A New Era, Alan Clay
I like Alan Clay. His research into the possible meanings of trans neptunian objects is in my view some of the most exciting work going on in astrology right now. I love how he drew out practical lessons from the planets and gives lots of examples. He references a lot of astrologers and is both widely read and deeply knowledgeable about this specific field.
But, I can't help but feel he's doing more harm than good in some ways. The meaning of Uranus in astrology is so different from Uranus in myth. We've developed meaning over centuries. It took decades for the meaning of Pluto to come together fully. For us to come up with an agreed on rulership and all that. I feel Alan Clay is very blasé about declaring the meaning of objects and usually attributing extreme importance to these Dwarf Planets in charts where I don't necessarily see them as very prominent in the charts.
I will admit, sometimes I've checked his working and found him to be dead on - his description of Ixion was so apt to Charlie XCX's chart and transits despite her not being one of his examples. But I dislike the certain and didactic tone he takes in an emerging field where I think we have more to learn than we actually know. I worry it'll lead to his ideas being accepted early and without reservations. But, like, basically in my ideal life I'd be like him and writing the books he's writing, but he's him and I'm jealous and therefore this book is towards the bottom of my list.
Pluto, Jeff Green
“Within the Soul there exist two coexisting desires. One desire is for separate existence — to separate from that which created the Soul. The other desire is to return to the Source of creation. The interaction of these two apparently opposing desires instigates the drama of personal and collective evolution. [...] Pluto’s moon, Charon, is actually a planet in its own right. Charon is half the size of Pluto itself, and one twentieth the distance from Pluto as compared to the distance of the Moon to Earth. The principle of dual coexisting desires seems to be reflected in this planetary symbolism.”
This book is a weird one. 500 pages long, never easy to read, lots of repetition. But it gives this unique view of Pluto as a core part of the evolutionary process of the soul and the purpose of life. And because we're dealing with evolutionary astrology, the other key source of purpose is the moon's Nodes. And suddenly you've got a very weird, unique take on the role of Pluto in astrology and an Astrological method like nothing I've read before.
It's an important book and I understand it will change someone's whole astrological practice but it didn't do that for me. I find the lunar nodes tricky and found it a little prescriptive about fate and how we should view ourselves and also (probably most importantly) I probably read too many books about Pluto this year and by the time I came to this one I was so tired.
Stopping on my least favourite book was maybe not smart in retrospect. I've started this year reading trashy trans femme romance and now I'm trying once again to tackle Cosmos and Psyche. I'm so aware how slow I read and just the sheer number of books that exist, it's maddening if you think about it.

Why is hard to find the seasonality or pattern behind COVID-19 waves? One possibility is the lack of a meaningful coordinate system. #COV1D #Covid
For example, if we look at the movement of mercury through time we will end up observing also the retrograde movement of the planet. That's due to our position relative to the planet. #COV1D #Covid
If we position ourselves in the sun, then we will see the normal movement of all the planets. Luckily neural networks can be used to retrieve a meaningful coordinate system from complex data sources. #COV1D #Covid
In the case of COVID-19, the data source will be the genomic sequences obtained through genomic surveillance. #COV1D #Covid
Training a VAE with a custom sequence representation sports the different genomes by a temporal variable. Currently, the best fit is the sunshine duration rate of change. A proxy measure of the rate of change of solar radiation at a specific location. #COV1D #Covid
Tumblr media
If we plot the cases using the sunshine duration as a measure of time the different waves are located at the extremes of the axis. But if we look at how the sunshine duration changes specific rates appear to constrain the duration of the waves #COV1D #Covid
Tumblr media
Also by approaching polar latitudes the frequency of those periods increases. #COV1D #Covid

Hey scorp, on the topic of mercury rx - how does it affect those with mercury in rx in their natal chart?? Esp those with mercuries in fixed signs... thank you your blog is pure brilliance
Mercury Rx in the Natal Chart
In modern astrology [and Ancient astrology] It’s believe that while Mercury is in retrograde, it is in an idle or “napping” state, as a result, it has a psychological effect us here below. Now, If you are born during one of those periods, your chances of being affected by Mercury's fluctuations are more likely. We call this a “transit”.
What Mercury Rules
Mercury lords over all types of communication: Speech, learning, sense of humor, reading, writing, research, negotiating. Mercury is our intelligence, our cerebral functions as well as our memory.
The Mercury Rx Squad
About 25 percent of people on earth were born during a Mercury retrograde
Since Mercury affects the perceptive abilities, being Rx in the chart, a native may feel a profound sense of being inarticulate, and struggling to speak. Because Mercury is not functioning optimally, the native by proxy will process information a little differently from their Mercury-direct counterparts. They’ll perceive things but have difficulty compartmentalizing it and putting it into concise words. Ideas of course, are often profound, even innovative, but when the native attempts to share said ideas, it may appear as if they’re trying to draw a picture with their non-dominant hand. Things will be uncomfortable communication and perception-wise. They can be perceived as shy even. Typically it takes extra effort for the Mercury retrograde mind to navigate between internal perceptions and external communication. There’s a sort of “collage effect” of Mercury retrograde, so it can make it hard for a native to see how things will play out. They may see the end before the middle. Essentially, they’ll think in a “non-linear” way. Now this will depend on the element, quality and what house it is in. however for example
People Born Under Fixed Sign Mercury Rx
[Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius]
Slow and deliberate in the thinking process. May be slow/grasping, can be confused in making decisions. May mull over things for a long period or be staunch in their opinions. Delay in speech/May not pronounce things correctly. Paranoid thinking often or inflexible in thought process/fixed thinking on details that can be omitted.
How to deal: Let go. Fixed attitudes can keep one from seeing other options/answers. Be open to other perspectives. Speed reading [helps accelerate the cognitive process- this practice is rapidly recognizing and absorbing phrases or sentences on a page all at once, rather than identifying individual words. It improves one's ability to read quickly.]  Speech pathology is also encouraged.
Under Mutable Sign Mercury Rx
[Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces]
Hard to understand decisions. May have harder time concentration in school or linear thinking may be lost upon them. May not be able to communicate what they’re really thinking. May deal with head in the clouds more often than others. Thinking may be eccentrically theoretical without many facts to back it up. May deal with anxiety more.
How to deal: Focus on facts, cite your sources, seek tutoring or Counseling when thoughts drift, become too hazy, or anxiety beings to run rampant. Keep a dream diary/journal to compartmentalize thoughts.
Under Cardinal Sign Mercury Rx
[Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn]
Natives may often make impractical impulsive decisions, Think “stop” means “go” at times, quick and effective decision making can be more difficult. Their speech may come off harsher than they mean to which may cause them to not care to share their opinion. Adversely, they may not speak up enough.  How to deal: Think before you act/speak. Get all the information before jumping to sign something or making an impulse buy. Read the room/know your audience. Meditation is encouraged to ground and keep the emotional state & impulse state at a balance.

“ you deserve good things.” (marley x rowan)
& although it is not uncommon for her to be surprised, not when it comes to rowan & that surge of constant chaos flooding through her veins, this is different. another kind of surprise, another kind of jolt that had her straightening on the sofa cushions & turning her head. blonde hair, how it framed in a halo about her skull, madonna statue tucked into an alcove to be worshipped — & rowan sometimes compared her to such things, & marley couldn’t consider being a work of art, because she was the creator of such things, & by proxy, this means that an artist could not be a masterpiece. an artist remains the conduit, the energetic medium between pen & paper, brush & strokes & canvas. so when it was said across the room, you deserve good things, & it is spoken over the cardboard packing boxes & it is some result of retrograde piercing through the cosmos or something in the water rowan drank that possessed her to be like this, & marley sucks in that breath between her teeth & suddenly feels dry in the mouth.
she asks the most pertinent thing that comes to mind. “i have no idea what the fuck you’re talking about. where did that even come from?” one hand arching & then slapping against the back of the couch, & then she herself rolls off of it, onto the floor, in a heap, before picking herself back up and stretching her arms high into the air. “did you say that just to wake me up or something? i swear to god, i wasn’t falling asleep. you always do this to me.” because this is what it means to fill the spaces, & each word echoes like a hollow at the back of a tree, but that does not make it insincere.

& so she crosses the breadth of the space between them & stands there. & for a moment, that is all she does, & then she flops down on the floor beside rowan, & then rolls onto her, grabbing her elbows & stretching her arms above her head & burrowing her face in the side of her neck to procure laughter. & once the laughter is procured, marley herself erupts in a fit of giggles. and to be ensconced in good things is to be set aglow in candlelight laughter.
“the only good things i feel like i deserve are the ones you’re there to share with me.” she reaches for one of the pillows and whacks her with it. “so don’t go anywhere.”

SOMETHING HERE IS VERY WRONG . . .
Introducing PROJECT GLITCHCORE
By @bluefoxredfox and @angel-in-retrograde
WHAT IS PROJECT GLITCHCORE?
Project Glitchcore refers to the investigation of irregular rifts connecting the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies. In the Milky Way, our main character Iris Talbot notices strange distortions and augmentations in her day to day life, appearing as unnatural glitches. One day she comes in contact with Proxie by falling into an open rift in her universe. The auxiliary from the Andromeda galaxy sent to handle these rifts, Proxie, finds out that the bridge between galaxies doesn’t just stop at the Milky Way and Andromeda. The duo find handfuls of other galaxies, almost like their own but with strange differences. Each galaxy revolves around a different aesthetic, and contains other characters who come in contact with the duo.
