#rick and morty mention

was never a huge Rick and Morty fan, the humor is a bit too egdy for me at times and the fan base consists of dudebros who tend to make themsevles a public nusance.

But from the things I seen on twitter, the dudebros are now upset with the direction the show is going and it involves the writers making Rick x Morty canon. Now Im not an incest connosier and I tend to get squick by it. But the irony here is that I am a horrible person fueled by spite towards antis in fandom.

So watching people have a melt down under the image of Rick and Morty getting married has me in my seat eatting popcorn as i consider picking up the show again.

so like...ive been having trouble waking up in the mornings, because I always drift away to another place

and I dont regularly practice witchcraft anymore so all the spells I've been doing are half assed and not working...so...

I mean. the tried and true method thats always worked for me have been. maladaptive daydreams. about. blorbo from fandom. so I decided to try and. well.

now rick & morty guard either side of my bed and rick has given the standing order to shoot anything that tries to distract me from resting. and it's been working. and this morning rick invented a device that makes 10 minutes of sleep feel like 30. and it worked. so I guess my brain is just fucking. wired to be taken care of by. my mental projection of blorbo from cancelled

MORTYENTHUSIAST MORTHENTHUSIAST HOW ARE WE FEELING ABOUT THE RECENT EPISODE 🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤

ohhhhhhh my fucking gooooooodddddddddddddd this episode was so fucking insane

i love how it's littered with implications of morty's perceived relationship with rick. for example when they first get out of the hole and morty is crying and rick immediately goes to snap a picture. like it speaks volumes that morty imagines this to be rick's initial reaction, vs the ending where rick genuinely does check up on him.

i'm also a huge fan of that initial argument they have in the garage, where rick calls morty out on being afraid of getting replaced, and morty flat out denies it or tries to refute it, but when rick and diane actually leave for their date morty straight up admits it. "you nailed it! my worst nightmare! i'd like to leave the hole now?" he knew that his fear, at least one of them, was him getting shoved aside, but he's definitely picked up some of that emotional repression from rick!!!!!!

im also fascinated by the conversation morty has with the hole guy, because i feel like it implies that morty is also deeply afraid of being dumb, naive, and that rick's nihilistic outlook on life is the correct way to perceive the world. there's also a moment in their conversation where the hole guy reveals that he just wants to suck up all of rick's fear, and morty says "can't the hole just let me go then? sounds like i dont matter," to which the hole guy immediately says "you don't!" showing that morty is also deeply afraid of being nothing more than some kind of tool, a means to the end that is rick.

another moment that killed me dead a little bit was when morty says that he's afraid of being responsible for rick's sadness, which is so grotesquely sad to me, because holy shit, rick's abuse runs so deep that morty is Hole-Level Scared of being in any way responsible for rick's sadness.

the last three minutes are obviously the peak of this episode and kind of this season, because it is just sooo miserable how morty's most crippling fear is proven right. even if only vaguely, there's still that underlying "he did not and would not do this for me" idea that is now confirmed for morty, and i am just. So excited to see how this character arc is continues

my one fear (aha get it) with the finale is that they’ll focus on rick more than morty, because the thing is with rick it’s SUPER easy to think of stuff that he’s actually afraid of, but with morty, he’s so normally viewed as the scared-of-everything character that people never really take a second to brainstorm on what truly scares him as well. he’s just a kid who got thrown headfirst into literally everything and it’s even a recurring theme in the show of him being told to simply not think about it if he wants to stay a little bit stable, him even having to get his memory wiped of certain things just so he could go on living, even if that whole thing did get twisted up into a whole other thing. all that but nobody really thinks about how incredible it would be to really establish what he’s the MOST deeply afraid of, things like subconscious fears and things he’s more terrified of happening more than anything in the world, even after having seen everything
