Poker Player
In 1858, Robert Fallon was shot dead, an act of vengeance by those with whom he was playing poker. Fallon, they claimed, had won the $600 pot through cheating. With Fallon’s seat empty and none of the other players willing to take the now, unlucky $600, they found a new player to take FalPolon’s place and staked him with the dead man’s $600. By the time the police had arrived to investigate the killing, the new player had turned the $600 into $2,200 in winnings. The police demanded the original $600 to pass on to Fallon’s next of kin, only to discover that the new player turned out to be Fallon’s son, who had not seen his father in seven years!

Actors in Blackface
I was recently reminded that Marvel Studio’s favorite Robert Downey Jr was even nominated for an Oscar for performing in Blackface for “Tropic Thunder” (2008).
White actors in Blackface (dark or black makeup, sometimes with exaggerated lips) was pretty common in the so-called “Golden Age” of Hollywood. Singer Al Jolson even built his entire career in Blackface.
I am not African American so I can’t speak to how offensive Blackface is (but in the modern era, it’s seem pretty offensive).

I’m Mexican American and growing up I hated when I saw non-Hispanic actors portray Mexicans in movies or TV. Almost always they played the characters as lazy, or drunks, and often the bad guy. In particular I hated Eli Wallach (who is Polish) for his portrayal in “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly”.

So like it's so unrelated to anything on my blog.
A question for Polish/American people:
In Poland, we have a shitty (respectably) versions of American celebrities. Like, if you'll search really hard, you can find everyones Polish alter-ego.
Like, for example:
Jimmy Fallon - Kuba Wojewódzki
Gordon Ramsey - Magda Gessler
And my question is. What with Robert Makłowicz? Because I don't think he's shitty (respectably) enough to be shitty version (respectably) of any American. Like - leveled up Makłowicz is God, and I need a second opinion!
Please help. My little lizard brain can't take all that confusion.
Bonus Robert Makłowicz bc that man is a legend:

Elizabeth, by Willo Davis Roberts. Unlike many other books, this one uses the Salem Witch Trials as a backdrop, but is not set in either Salem Town or Salem Village.
The first man is practically a throwaway choice. Elizabeth can’t stand his father, but is willing to look past that because he’s handsome and will inherit land. Ultimately she can’t place herself within the context of his household, and he can’t be there for her when she needs support.
The second man has more important things on his mind than romance, and acts more like a brother than a lover. But once she rejects man #1, he immediately swoops in.
Neither man is present for the story’s climax, and I honestly think that the plot would have been just fine without Elizabeth having any romantic entanglements (even though that is the point of the series).
