You can’t stand how nice the plane is. You’ve been in first class approximately once in your life, and you were crying so hard you couldn’t enjoy it at all. Dean’s private plan puts what little you remember to shame. The interior was gold and green, velvet and plush touching your skin so softly it felt inappropriate.
“I feel like it’s too expensive to breathe,” Opal mumbles to you, once you’ve reached the air and Dean went to the restroom.
“Get used to it baby bear,” you mutter. “It only goes up from here.”
She nods, looking out to the clouds in wonder, curiosity, and a smidge of anxiety.
“Spill it.”
“I don’t know,” she sighs out, biting her thumbnail. “I’m so excited, and happy to be here with both of you but…but what if the more time we spend time together, the less he likes me?” Her eyes build with tears, and you immediately take her hands in yours, reaching across the table between you.
“Baby bear.”
“And, and what if I don’t fit in? What if they don’t like me? What if you end up hating me for making you go back?”
“Never.” You cut her off vehemently. “I could never hate you for anything you do. You could put an axe through my foot right now and I’d still love you until my dying breath–”
“And mine.”
You both look up to see Dean standing a ways away, clearly having heard most of your conversation. “I haven’t known for as nearly as long as I should, but I do love you Opal. Until my dying breathe I will not let you go again.”
A few tears slide down Opal’s cheeks, but Dean catches them quickly and sits down beside her. You watch them tenderly before getting back to the task at hand.
“So what’s the game plan?”
Opal gives you a confused look but Dean only nods. You both lock eyes, and a strange understanding settles between you two.
“I think our primary goal is the same,” he says. “We keep his far away from the press.”
“It’s a needed precaution,” you explain when you see your daughter’s face fall. “The press are vultures who will skin you alive for every single answer you give and then some. They’ll be looking for all the wrong things in your words–from stuttering to the wrong adjective to the wrong pronunciation. They’re waiting for you to fall.”
“And we won’t let that happen,” Dean continues. “We’re going to try and mask you both from the public as much as possible in order to control which way the story goes, and to ensure they see you for who you are.”
He waits for her to nod before moving on. “You both will be staying close to me in the palace under the guise of being Sam’s friends who are over for the occasion–”
“Sam? I get to meet my Uncle Sam soon?” Opal breathes.
“You sound more excited to meet him than you did me,” Dean jokes, bumping her shoulder with his. Your heart warms at their collective laugh. It doesn’t take long before he gets serious again. “I plan to reveal you two at the Announcement Ball.”
You balk at his words, unable to keep your jaw from dropping. “Are you sure? Are you serious?”
Dean doesn’t shy away from your eye contact. “Of course.”
“Mom? Dad? What’s the Announcement Ball?”
You can’t answer her. “They won’t let you. You know that the won’t let you right.”
Dean only raises an eyebrow. “I don’t care who they are, I’ve made my decision.”
“If you’re even the slightest bit hesitant–”
Opal tugs on Dean’s sleeves with a soft calling of “Dad?” And despite the seriousness of the conversation, you smirk at how he melts instantaneously at her puppy dog eyes.
“The Announcement Ball is a tradition my lineage has, where we officially name our successors for the throne, legitimizing who we decide is our blood.”
“And…and you want to announce…me?”
“If you’re up for it kid.”
Opal swallows before closing her eyes tightly. “I don’t want to cry anymore than I already have.”
Dean laughs, taking her hand in his. “When I told you I’m not letting you go, I meant it kid. After the announcement, we’ll have all the time in the world.” He then clears his throat. “To prepare you for court and the public, you both will be participating within 3 weeks worth of events to show who you are. That you belong here. So that by the time I name you Opal, no one would have any reason to oppose.”
She smiles so hard that both of you can’t help but mirror her emotion.
“Sam is going to pick us up,” Dean adds. “He’s also agreed to take you both on and be your benefactor for the events. He has access to both our funds to make sure you both fit in well. God knows you’ll need it.”
A bitter taste blooms in your mouth at his last comment. You try not to fidget with the 6 year old coat that you have yet to take off, but it must show on your face because Dean tries to backtrack.
“That–I didn’t mean it like that–”
“Excuse me?” You ignore him, giving a kind smile to the one flight attendant you’ve seen. “What snacks do you have on board?”
“We have granola, trail mix, fresh cut seasonal fruit, smoothies–”
“Can we have some granola?” Opal interrupts, and the flight attendant nods. “No peanuts please!”
“Are you allergic?” Dean asks.
You nod as she’s handed the food. “Walnuts are the worst.”
He nods, sinking into his seat. “Seems like there's so many things I have to learn about you.”
“Well,” Opal says over the food. “We now have the rest of our lives.”
Tumblr media
You all fall asleep for the rest of the flight.
You’re the first to wake up, and realize you’ve stepped into a nightmare. The plane is slowly touching down, and you see massive amounts of cars, and people, and…
Cameras.
The press.
“Dean,” you almost scream out, shaking him vigorously from where he sits across from you. Opal’s head slips off of his shoulder when you gesture to the window. “They’re here.”
An expletive slips out of his mouth immediately, his face red with anger. He whips out his phone as you question him.
“How?!”
“I don’t know–”
“Did they know you left?”
“This is our stealth plane, the royal crest isn’t anywhere near this–”
“If they hurt her Dean–”
“They won’t!” He snaps, determination set on his face. “They won’t.”
You nod, and both of you know. Digging into a backpack you kept with you, you pull out a large, old college sweatshirt. Dean grabs his sunglasses and a scarf the flight attendant hands him.
Opal barely wakes up as you both help her pull the items on, just in time for the announcement that you could disembark within the next 5 minutes.
“Keep your head low,” you warn. “Don’t say anything, get straight to the car. We’ll be right behind you.”
“Sam’s ready,” Dean confirms. “Let’s go.”
All of you hold your breath. Dean is in front, you’re in the back with Opal in between you. The plane door lowers…
And they pounce.
Their words garble together, with blinding lights and yelling that causes a major sensory overload. You and Dean both have a strong hold on Opal, with Dean’s bodyguard strongly leading the way from where he came from the car. The press jostles all of you, the wave of the crowd ebbing strongly to try to get your line to break. The whole time you keep gently squeezing your daughter’s hand, her squeezing back just as grounding.
“King Dean! Is it true that this is your illegitimate daughter?!”
Opal flinches.
“Is this your new mistress?!”
You bite hard on your tongue.
“King Dean, is this another one of your charity cases?!”
Dean glares straight ahead.
“King Dean, is this the help that fled the palace? Was she hiding your secret love child?”
They continue to press in. And in. And in.
And finally you’re at the car door. Dean slips in, and then somehow your strong formation breaks. Opal ends up behind you, on the ground, on her hands and knees–
You try to get to her but you’re shoved inside the car. Without another thought you climbed straight over Dean’s lap to get out on the other side, scrambling to your baby girl.
Just to see that the crowd was silent.
They’re in a semi-circle around her, but she’s not actually on the ground…she’s helping a fallen reporter. Her scarf has fallen so that her soft smile shines, and beyond the camera clicks, you hear Opal ask if the fallen reporter is okay. They only nod in shock.
“Baby bear,” you choke out. Opal gets up with the person on the ground, nodding before following you to the car.
Inside, Dean doesn’t let her go. And you can finally breathe.
“Well,” a familiar voice says. Your eyes widen at Sam sitting in the passenger seat. “That was quite an entrance.”

I got a banger ace attorney au for y’all AGAIN: A TWIST on your average ROYAL!AU
ok so basically 👏
Royalty au where everything is the same but phoenix has been trying to figure himself out bc he's with a traveling minstrel show with acting and puppets etc. never rlly knows his real fam
the travelers are sent to perform for king gregory edgeworth and his family, as well as the von karmas and the feys while they talk about diplomatic procedures in the kingdom of japanifornia. (idk wip name for the kingdom i hate this game /j)
i think Larry is a peasant or like a runaway from a rich noble who stole some [object] (not on purpose) from the king by joining phoenix's band bc phoenix was like "ur so funny bro u shud join us!"
but unfortuneately phoenix gets accused of stealing bc larry happened to steal [insert smth here] of miles edgeworth the prince. the band abandons phoenix to get beheaded/punished (idk i might just make it public humiliation bc it would be funny if he just had to apologize but idk its medieval he could be getting his hand cut off for stealing or smth) except larry who stays behind to try and help his bro.
but before everyone can suggest a punishment, miles (and eventually larry) defends phoenix. and the rest is history.
phoenix and larry then decide to live in the castle bc gregory was like "that was so sweet aww u guys can stay here"
so yay yippee friendship hooray!
but then gregory edgeworth is assassinated and no one knows how it happened. Miles belives its his fault (i'll figure out why later) larry and phoenix are kicked out of the castle and the feys take them in.
phoenix and larry live in kurain for a bit and have fun but feen misses miles and so does larry but he's not as insane lol
then phoenix gets into trouble with a witch (Dahlia) and Mia Fey, a runaway princess of kurain turned fighter/knight/Rebellion leader, rescues him! YAY MIA! (Godot is her right hand man, Lana is the royal guard so forbidden love on every end yay)
so being inspired; he decides to become a knight to the von karmas to get into the castle and see miles and save him from whatever fate has befallen him and the kingdom bc the kingdom is slowly going to shit since Greg’s death.
BUT THEN! When he becomes a Knight, he learns that Edgeworth and The Von Karmas are complete ASSHOLES.
No matter what Phoenix does, nothing gets through to Miles and Mia is like “We told u so, bro :/“
(MVK is the royal advisor who is disney villain evil)
So! Upon finding out that von karma/miles edgeworth are tyrants, phoenix doesn't feel right serving the kingdom in that way, especially after mia is murdered as well and the new princess, Maya is to be executed for her murder.
so phoenix drops being a knight and he becomes the only person who can possibly stand up to king miles:
Phoenix becomes the COURT JESTER!
Court Jesters weren’t just there to make people/the king laugh, they also had an obligation to the people and to the king to point out any flaws within the way they rule the kingdom. They were basically tasked with critiquing / criticizing the way the rulers of the kingdom rule the kingdom through the guise of humor.
And also like. C’mon. The pun is RIGHT THERE. /COURT/ JESTER. also it’s just fun to make fun of phoenix wright

F1 driver Henry x Team Principal Alex — forbidden love trope
Henry is son of Arthur Fox, the most decorated F1 driver in England racing history. He wants to live up to his father's legacy and prove he's earned his spot on the team; he can't afford any distractions, not even delicious as sin, newly appointed team principal, Alex Claremont-Diaz.
Alex finds himself thrust into the role of team principal after the previous one found himself in hot water (some sort of scandal). He's heavily scrutinized, having only been part of the circuit for a handful of years. Like Henry, he's determined to prove himself and right the ship. He can't afford to make mistakes or bring another scandal to the team... which having a steamy underground relationship with their lead driver certainly will do.

Okay these ideas have NOT left my head so here’s two new Gravity Falls AUs inspired by @acerobot’s fanart of a Wandavision-esque Billford AU
The FIRST idea goes as follows:
Ford doesn’t stop working on the portal after Fidds leaves. He and Bill work together to take down the barrier around Gravity Falls, Bill putting together some half-assed excuse to justify why they would need to do it.
They get the portal started up and Bill starts the apocalypse, BUT he puts a new barrier around the town essentially shielding it from Weirdmageddon instead of containing it. He removes Ford’s memories of the betrayal, and since the town is safe from the chaos, Ford doesn’t realize anything is wrong.
So he and Bill have this little domestic life in their cabin in the woods, and he’s completely oblivious to the fact that outside the town is the end of the world.
But now Gravity Falls is considered somewhat of a safe haven for survivors, so people start moving there to get away from all the chaos, and Ford is reunited with his family, who immediately realize something’s wrong.
Will he realize what his husband’s been up to this whole time? Who knows
The SECOND idea is EVEN ANGSTIER
Because what if Bill trapped Ford in a fantasy bubble during Weirdmageddon. A fantasy version of Gravity Falls where everything is perfect, he’s not fighting with his brother, he’s still friends with Fiddleford, he has a perfect little family and a perfect husband and a perfect life.
And he doesn’t even question it, because the fantasy starts replacing his memories with new fabricated ones, fake memories of his perfect life with his perfect family.
Until Stan and the twins show up, and they’re terrified because they just witnessed Bill start a literal apocalypse and yet there he is, smooching it up with Ford of all people. And he acts like it’s all normal and fine, because to him it IS normal, but they all know it’s not.
Ford is confused why his family is acting weird, not realizing that they’re not the fake family he’s gotten used to, the fake Stan he talks to all the time, the fake Dipper and Mabel who are best friends with his fake kids.
And they almost want to stay too, because they want to live this perfect life, but they know it’s not real, so they do what they can to escape and rescue Ford.
And when they finally do burst the bubble, Ford is absolutely RUINED because he realizes it was all a lie, his perfect family, his perfect husband, his perfect kids weren’t real and he doesn’t know what to do with himself because he misses them.
Even though they’re not real he still has some of the fake memories, going on fake monster hunts with them, teaching them how to play the fake piano, watching them play with their fake friends and the fake Dipper and fake Mabel.
And even though it was all a lie he misses it and he’s heartbroken over the fact that, even though they were never real, he’ll never get to see that perfect family ever again.
And I’m sure when they face off against Bill, Bill tries to rope him back into it, promising to bring back their perfect family and their perfect life, promising that it could last forever if he gave up the equation.
And even after they defeat Bill he’s still plagued by dreams about that life, and he’s fucking ruined over it, and this ends one of two ways.
Ending 1: He finds out the kids from the bubble were actually child versions of the real kids that he and Bill had that he didn’t know about, and so he tries to create the relationship he should’ve had with them if Bill hadn’t kept them apart.
OR Ending 2: Like Mabel’s dream boys, the fake kids somehow survive the popping of the bubble (and even the closing of the rift), though they’re very confused about what happened, and Ford winds up finding them and taking them back home (though I don’t think he’d tell them what happened to Bill just yet).
Holy shit that was a lot of words. Can you tell which plot I’ve spent more time thinking about
Thanks @acerobot for inspiring this. This was all your fault
Also here’s what I think Cassie and Aaron (the kids) would look like if they were Dipper and Mabel’s age

─────────── ♛ ───────────
Juliette stood in front of the full-length mirror in the hotel suite, admiring the reflection staring back at her. The emerald green gown she had chosen was nothing short of spectacular, clinging to her form with an elegant grace that made her look like every bit of royal she was. The delicate embroidery of silver threads wound their way across the fabric, catching the light and shimmering like starlight against the deep green. The gown’s off-the-shoulder design accentuated her slender neck and collarbones, while the flowing skirt gave her an ethereal, almost otherworldly presence.
Adding the final touch to her ensemble, Juliette carefully placed her crown atop her head. The tiara was a masterpiece of intricate design, adorned with diamonds and jewels that complemented her gown. Passed down through generations of royalty, the crown held a wealth of history, each jewel a testament to the lineage of princesses and queens who had worn it before her. The gems sparkled brilliantly in the light, pulling her entire outfit together and solidifying her regal image. As she gazed at her reflection, the tiara’s weight was a reassuring reminder of her heritage and the responsibilities she bore. It wasn’t just a piece of jewelry; it was a symbol of her family’s legacy, a beacon of her royal identity.
The door to her suite’s bedroom was wide open, and she could hear Daniel’s footsteps approaching from the other room. As she made final adjustments to her appearance, she caught a glimpse of his reflection in the mirror.
Daniel stood at the threshold, momentarily stunned. The soft light from the lamp bathed him in a warm glow, accentuating his sharply tailored suit–a classic black ensemble that complemented his prominent features. His hair, styled into defined curls, fell neatly onto his forehead, and his tie was perfectly knotted. But, it was the genuine awe in his eyes that truly marked the moment.
Juliette noticed his reaction and maintained her poised demeanour, though a hint of a smile played on her lips. She remained still, her gaze fixed on her own reflection while she waited for him to collect his thoughts.
“Wow,” he finally managed, his voice barely above a whisper. His Australian accent, typically casual and easygoing, took on a deeper, almost hushed tone as he struggled to string together a sentence.
Juliette, still facing the mirror, caught the shift in his expression and the profound impact her appearance had on him.
“Speechless, I see?” she teased gently.
Daniel’s gaze remained fixed on her, his eyes wide as if trying to memorize the sight in front of him. “I didn’t expect…” he faltered, clearing his throat as if trying to steady himself. “I mean, you look… stunning, Your Highness. Beyond words, really.”
She chuckled softly, pleased with his reaction. “Thank you, Daniel. I was beginning to think I might have overdone it.”
Daniel shook his head, regaining his composure. “Not at all. You look every bit the princess you are tonight.”
Then, a playful grin tugged at his lips. “If I’d known you were going with green, I would’ve packed a matching suit. We could’ve been quite the pair.”
Juliette raised an eyebrow, a teasing smile forming on her lips. “A matching suit? And here I thought you had to wear a specific uniform for your duties.”
Daniel chuckled, stepping further into the room. “I won’t say I don’t, but anything the princess wants, she gets. Am I right?”
Juliette tilted her head, trapping her bottom lip between her teeth as she thought of the various things she could get Daniel to do in the name of her royal status. For a split second, her mind wandered to a dangerous territory, imagining scenarios where his professional demeanour melted away, leaving room for something that was far fetched, too unprofessional.
The thought sent a small shiver down her spine, and she quickly reined in her imagination, focusing back on the moment. “You might regret saying that,” she teased with a small smile, trying to keep her tone light and playful.
Daniel’s eyes sparkled with amusement, clearly unaware of the turn her thoughts had taken. He shook his head, a confident smile on his lips. “Trust me, Your Highness, I won’t.” He offered her his arm, the gesture both respectful and undeniably charming. “Shall we?”
Juliette took his arm, her fingers lightly brushing against his sleeve. “We shall.”
As they made their way through the hotel, the distance between them seemed both vast and incredibly intimate. With every step, Juliette felt her thoughts linger on the possibilities of the boundaries of their professional relationship shifting. She glanced up at him, catching the way the soft lighting highlighted the strong lines of his jaw and the determined set of his features.
Juliette forced herself to focus on the present, on the charity event awaiting them. She had responsibilities tonight, expectations to meet. Her thoughts had no room for lingering on Daniel’s touch or the subtle scent of his cologne that seemed to envelope her. She took a deep breath, steadying her mind, reminding herself of her royal duties. The event was important, a chance to support a cause close to her heart, and she needed to be fully present. The image of Daniel’s admiring gaze and the warmth of his arm under her hand threatened to distract her, but she pushed those thoughts aside, determined to be the princess everyone expected her to be.
The car ride to the venue was filled with a mixture of anticipation and nerves. The hum of the engine and the gentle sway of the vehicle did little to calm Juliette’s racing thoughts.
Upon arrival, they were greeted by the flashing lights of cameras and the murmurs of the crowd, the paparazzi eager to catch a glimpse of the princess. Juliette stepped out of the car with the elegance expected of a princess, her gown shimmering under the myriad of flashing lights. The air was electric with the murmurs of the crowd and the insistent calls of the paparazzi, each desperate to capture the perfect shot. As she moved forward, the cameras clicked in rapid succession, creating a staccato rhythm that surrounds her.
“Princess Juliette! Over here!”
“Your Highness, one more smile!”
Juliette maintained her poised smile, her eyes scanning the sea of faces as her hand lifted to wave. The red carpet unfurled before her like a path of destiny, each step meticulously calculated yet filled with an undercurrent of nerves.
Daniel, ever vigilant, was at her side. His presence is a comforting constant, a beacon of steadiness amidst the chaos. His eyes darted across the crowd, assessing threats and ensuring her safety with every step. As they progressed, she noticed the subtle increase in security around them, guards forming a protective barrier that moved with them like a well-oiled machine.
Inside the venue, the atmosphere was both refined and vibrant. As Juliette and Daniel entered, the chatter and clinking of glasses gradually faded, and a respectful hush fell over the room. Guests rose from their seats, their admiration palpable, as they turned their attention towards Juliette.
Juliette moved gracefully through the crowd, her emerald gown shimmering under the soft lighting. As she approached a group of dignitaries, she offered a warm, welcoming smile. “Good evening,” she greeted, her voice carrying a blend of warmth and regality. “It’s a pleasure to see you all here.”
One of the dignitaries, a distinguished gentleman with a silver beard, stepped forward with a smile. “Princess Juliette, your presence adds such elegance to this event. We’re honored to have you.”
Juliette inclined her head slightly, her smile broadening. “Thank you, Sir William. Your kind words are much appreciated.”
Nearby, a prominent philanthropist introduced herself, “Princess Juliette, I’m Helen Montgomery. Your recent speech on the charity’s new initiative was truly inspiring. I’m excited to discuss the future of this project.”
Juliette extended her hand gracefully. “Thank you, Mrs. Montgomery. I’m eager to hear more about your ideas.”
As Juliette engaged in conversation, Daniel stood next to her, his sharp gaze sweeping the room. He exchanged nods with other security personnel stationed discreetly around the venue, ensuring everything was in order. His presence was a reassuring anchor, though he remained unobtrusive, allowing Juliette to shine in the spotlight.
During a brief lull in the conversation, Juliette caught Daniel’s eye and gave him a small, appreciative nod. He responded with a subtle, reassuring smile, before turning his attention back to the crowd.
Soon, she was in the midst of an engaging conversation with an infamous art gallery owner when she heard a familiar, yet somewhat informal voice cut through the polite murmur of the crowd.
“Juliette!”
The voice was warm and friendly, lacking the formality that Juliette was accustomed to in such settings. She excused herself and turned, spotting Prince Charles of Monaco approaching with a dimpled smile.
As he reached her, they exchanged customary cheek kisses, followed by a brief but warm hug. Charles’ embrace was familiar, a reminder of the simpler times.
“It’s been far too long,” Charles said, a hint of his Monégasque accent peeking through as he spoke English. He pulled back slightly, but kept his hands on her shoulders, his smile unwavering.
Juliette laughed softly. “It certainly has, I’m surprised to see you here. I thought one of your brothers would come instead.”
“Non, it was a last minute switch with Arthur, you know how he is with these events. Plus, I had to make an excuse to see you, after all, it’s almost been a year since we last met.”
The realization dawned on Juliette, eyes widening slightly. “Ah, yes, the Monaco Grand Prix. Wow, really? It’s almost been a year?”
Charles nodded, then his gaze shifted to Daniel, who stood respectfully at Juliette's side. “And you are?”
“This is Daniel, my new bodyguard,” Juliette interjected smoothly. “He’s been with me for a short while now.”
Charles's eyebrows raised slightly. “I see. What happened to Oliver?”
Juliette’s smile faltered for a moment before she regained her composure. “Oliver is on paternity leave. He’ll be back in due time.”
A subtle look of relief crossed Charles’s face, quickly replaced by a polite smile. “Well, it looks like you’re in capable hands.’
Just then, another figure approached. Charles's bodyguard, Max, who had evidently been searching for him, finally caught up. “There you are, Charles. You wandered off as soon as you saw Princess Juliette,” Max remarked with a playful tone.
Then, he shifted his attention towards her with a mock stern expression. “Your Highness, you have no idea how much trouble Charles causes. He never stays where he’s supposed to.”
Juliette laughed softly. “Oh, I can imagine. Charles has always been a bit of a handful.”
Charles rolled his eyes, nudging Max. “You love every minute of it, admit it.”
Max smiled, shaking his head. “Maybe I do, but that doesn’t mean you’re off the hook.”
Charles turned his attention to Daniel who was watching the interaction with a smile on his face. “Well, I hope Juliette isn’t too much to handle, is she?” he teased, his eyes twinkling with mischief.
Juliette placed a hand on her hip, feigning offense. “Are you on my side or Daniel’s?”
Charles laughed, raising his hands in mock surrender. “Yours, of course, Juliette. But I have to warn Daniel since I’ve known you for years.”
Juliette shook her head, a smile playing on her lips. “You’re impossible, Charles.”
He was still looking at Daniel expectantly, waiting for him to answer his question. Daniel shrugged, “I’m hoping she makes my job difficult, I love a good challenge.”
Max, unable to resist, chimed in, “you want a challenge? Try protecting Charles. He walks into danger without even realizing it.”
Everyone except Charles laughed, who wore a slightly defensive frown. “It was one time, Max,” he protested, gesturing with his hands, which only made Max laugh harder.
Once the laughter subsided, Max took a breath and turned to Juliette and Daniel, a grin still on his face. “Let me tell you about this infamous dinner. Charles was having a lovely meal with a known hitman, completely oblivious to who he was. I had to make up an excuse to pull him away and show him the wanted posters. Can you imagine? Dinner with a bloody criminal. How’s that for a challenge?”
Juliette’s eyes widened slightly in surprise. “That sounds terrifying,” she said, glancing at Charles, who was now sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck.
Charles chuckled awkwardly. “In my defense, he was very charming and knew his wines.”
Daniel forced a smile, a fleeting tightening of his jaw and a subtle hardening of his gaze that was gone in an instant, before anyone realized.
“Well, I suppose that’s why you’re here, Max,” Daniel said, his tone light but with an undercurrent of seriousness. “To keep him out of trouble.”
Max nodded, a smirk playing on his lips. “Exactly. It’s a full-time job, believe me.”
Juliette glanced at Daniel, her eyes sparkling with mischief. “Given what you’ve heard, do you really want to take on a challenge like that from me?”
Daniel met her gaze with a soft smile. “I’d rather avoid any dinners with hitmen, but I’m ready for whatever you might throw at me, Your Highness,” he replied, his Australian accent adding a warm, easygoing tone to his words.
Charles shook his head in mock exasperation. “You’re never going to let that go, are you?”
The group responded in unison with a chorus of “no,” their amusement evident. Charles let out a dramatic sigh, his shoulders slumping slightly as he grinned at the shared jest.
“Well, I guess I’m doomed to live with that reputation,” he said with a chuckle, shaking his head in resignation. “But, if you’re all done teasing me, I would like to invite you to the Monaco Grand Prix again this year, Juliette.”
Her face lit up with a delighted smile. “I’d be honoured, Charles. It seems like it’s becoming an annual tradition at this point.”
Charles grinned, his eyes sparkling. “It’s a tradition I’d like to keep going. I look forward to catching up with you there.”
Before the conversation could drift further, Daniel stepped in smoothly, his tone polite yet firm. “Your Highness, if I may interrupt, you have a speech to give soon.”
Juliette glanced at Daniel, a slight frown of realization crossing her face. “Ah, that’s right. I almost lost track of time.”
Charles gave her an understanding nod. “I won’t keep you then. It was wonderful catching up, Juliette.”
“Indeed, it was,” Juliette replied warmly. She turned back to Charles and Max, giving them a final, appreciative smile. “Thank you both for the lively conversation. I’ll see you both soon.”
As Juliette and Daniel made their way through the crowd, a subtle, unsettling presence lingered in the background. A man in a dark suit, whose gaze had been fixed on Juliette intermittently throughout the evening, watched them intently. His eyes, shadowed by the brim of his hat, held a predatory glint that contrasted sharply with the evening’s elegance. He quickly averted his gaze as Daniel and Juliette passed, melting back into the crowd, but his unsettling presence remained a silent shadow in the periphery.
Juliette took the stage, her emerald gown glistening under the spotlight as she made her way to the microphone. The room fell into a respectful silence, all eyes fixed on her as she began her speech.
“Good evening, everyone,” she started, her voice carrying a genuine warmth. “I am deeply honoured to be here tonight, supporting a cause that is incredibly close to my heart.” She paused, allowing her gaze to sweep across the audience, her eyes reflecting her passion. “Tonight, we come together not just to raise funds but to shine a light on mental health—a topic that deserves our attention and compassion.”
Her voice grew more earnest as she continued, “Mental health is an aspect of well-being that often remains in the shadows, despite its profound impact on countless lives. It affects people from all walks of life, and yet, there remains a stigma that prevents many from seeking the help they need.”
Juliette took a deep breath, her gaze steady. “This charity is more than just an organization; it’s a beacon of hope and support for those who may feel lost or alone. It represents a commitment to breaking down barriers and providing access to the care and understanding that every individual deserves.”
Her words resonated deeply, and her sincerity was evident in every phrase. “I have seen firsthand the difference that compassion and support can make. And tonight, I stand with all of you, united in our mission to foster a world where mental health is prioritized and understood.”
As she concluded, the applause that followed was enthusiastic and genuine. Juliette descended the stage with a confident stride, her heart still racing from the emotional weight of her speech. She rejoined Daniel, who greeted her with a smile that spoke of both pride and affection.
“Great job up there,” Daniel said, his eyes twinkling. “You’ve really got a talent for keeping people captivated.”
Juliette raised an eyebrow, a playful smile tugging at her lips. “Is that your way of saying you were impressed, or just that I was convincing enough to keep you awake?”
Daniel chuckled, shaking his head with a teasing glint in his eye. “Actually, you manage to impress me every day. But I must admit, I’m not sure if I’m the one who should be doing the impressing.”
Juliette’s cheeks flushed slightly. “Believe me, you’ve definitely impressed me.”
Daniel raised an eyebrow, his gaze growing more intense. His look made her clear her throat, momentarily shifting the playful tone. “I mean, you say you want challenges and I’ve only heard good things about you from the king. I would say those facts are pretty impressive.”
A smirk played on his lips. “And here I thought it was my charm that lured you in.”
Juliette tilted her head with a playful smile. “What charm? I’m still waiting to see it.”
Daniel placed a hand over his heart in mock offense, his eyes twinkling with amusement. “Ouch! I’ll have to work on that then.”
As Juliette and Daniel enjoyed their conversation, their light-hearted banter was suddenly interrupted by the arrival of a disturbing figure. The man, tall and gaunt with a disheveled appearance, made his way through the crowd with a menacing air. He approached Juliette with an unsettling intensity that drew the attention of those nearby.
“Your Royal Highness,” he said, his voice cold and dripping with sarcasm, “I didn’t realize your charity work was more about polishing your family’s image than actually helping others.”
Juliette’s smile faltered, and her eyes narrowed, feeling the weight of his hostility. “I assure you,” she said, her tone firm and controlled, “my commitment to mental health is genuine. It’s a cause that’s very personal to me.”
The man, who introduced himself as Vincent, leaned in too close, his presence invading Juliette’s personal space. “Oh, I’m sure it is. But, people never really change, do they? Their mental states, their true selves—it always remains the same. Tell me, Juliette, has it been a personal struggle for you too? Is that why this charity means so much to you?”
Daniel, who had been watching the interaction with growing tension, stepped forward. His demeanor shifted from casual to imposing. His voice was low and steely as he addressed Vincent. “I think it’s time for you to leave,” he said, his gaze hardening. His posture, rigid and commanding, sent a clear message that he would not tolerate any further disturbance.
Vincent’s smirk faltered as he looked up at Daniel, who was now a formidable presence between him and Juliette. The crowd around them seemed to sense the shift in atmosphere, their whispers growing as they observed the confrontation.
At Daniel’s signal, several security guards quickly moved in. They approached Vincent with professional efficiency, guiding him away from Juliette. “Come with us,” one of them said firmly, placing a hand on Vincent’s arm.
Vincent’s eyes burned with a mix of anger and disdain as he was escorted out. He cast one last cold glance at Juliette, his sneer returning. “You think you can hide behind your bodyguard,” he taunted. “But people like you never really change. Remember that.”
With that, Vincent was led away from the event, his presence diminishing as he was escorted out of the venue. The security guards’ swift and decisive action ensured that the situation was resolved without further incident.
Juliette took a deep breath, feeling a mix of relief and unease as she looked back at Daniel. “Thank you,” she said, her voice steadier now.
Daniel nodded, his expression softening slightly. “Just doing my job,” he replied. “Let’s keep enjoying the evening.”
As the event continued, security around Juliette was noticeably heightened, with Daniel steadfastly by her side. Despite her attempts to mingle with the guests, the unsettling encounter with Vincent cast a lingering shadow over the evening. The encounter had cast a stark reminder of the complexities tied to Juliette’s charity work and the unresolved tensions from her past.

Bake It 'Til You Make It
Henry Fox is a judge on The Great British Bake Off. He’s a proper celebrity, the kind you crush on from afar. Alex, meanwhile, is simply baking a lemon meringue pie for June’s birthday. Thank God nobody like Henry Fox will be in attendance — that would've been some pressure.
Except June has a big surprise up her sleeve when it comes to the guest list. Can Alex’s pie withstand the scrutiny of the Citrus Daddy himself?

⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️
It's cold.... So cold that if the sharp wind somehow touches your skin directly, it will freeze your blood circulation. Due to this horrible weather, everyone is staying inside their houses, warming themselves up and chattering with their families.
Except for one kid.....
A kid, who looks like he's probably six years old, is walking pathetically against the angry wind, wearing nothing but a dirty cloth and blanket. Nothing is coming out of his mouth other than "Save my mum". He desperately tries to walk but the wind gets angrier and crushes against him with full force making his weak slender frame fall on the snow covered road.
The kid sighs and looks up at the sky which cannot be seen anymore due to the snow. The kid's been so scared from the moment when he noticed his mother wasn't responding to him. He couldn't even think that she has died. She can't because she knows he has no one in this world without him.
The kid has tried, tried to call for help but it seems like no one could even hear his weak knocks or sobs due to the intense blow of the sharp-cold wind. But he tried his best, ignoring his hunger because saving his mum was the most important thing.
But now, he has given up.
He sighs again, closing his eyes. Losing all his strength, he just lets the cold wind and snow devour him until......
"Wake up... Please wake up...."
A gentle melodic voice tries to wake him up and something warm wraps around him, pulling him out of his fainted state. He opens his eyes and stares at someone unknown who's crying but smiles immediately when he opens his eyes.
She's a kid, just like him.
But prettier, wealthier, healthier. Her clothes and face tells that......
"Down to earth, knight Levi!"
Levi blinks to push away the traumatising memory and smiles at the beautiful girl who runs towards him and hugs him tightly.
The girl, who saved him that night. An Earl's daughter who is as kind as an angel and luckily was passing by Levi and noticed him from her carriage. She was only four years old back then but still she stopped the carriage and jumped out of it, ran towards Levi and hugged him tightly. She was crying and trying desperately to save Levi.
Well, he was saved but his mother wasn't. She was gone long before Levi could even realise....
"Your mother is probably so proud of you! You have awarded as the best knight of the kingdom! I'm so proud of you too!"
Your eyes tear up with happiness and you hug Levi tightly, burying your face in his neck. Levi chuckles and caresses your hair.
You were always like this, kind and soft. Levi remembers how you cried when the doctor of your family declared that Levi's mother was gone. How you begged your dad to adopt Levi. And luckily your dad was a kind Earl. He took Levi under his wings, made arrangements for his studies and sword training. The results? He has become the best knight of the kingdom.
"It's all because of you."
Levi says softly as you wipe your tears and look at him.
"Right, I taught you how to use swords... So funny, Levi."
Levi smiles softly as he cups your face in his hands.
"Because you saved me that day."
You smile widely and hug Levi again.
"Do you know what it means? You'll be working for the king from now on. You won't stay with us anymore."
You sigh and remove his hands from your cheeks.
"I'll miss you so damn much."
You mumble and Levi sighs. Of course, now that he has been selected as the strongest knight, he has to work for the king's safety. In other words he'll become the king's bodyguard.
He doesn't want that! He doesn't want to leave your side. You're his saviour, his first friend, his angel, his one and only love.....
"I can deny the king's invitation if you...."
Before he can even finish his sentence you stop him by placing your hands on his mouth. You smile.
"No way! I want you to become the best knight ever. You'll make me proud, right?"
You remove your hand from his mouth and he smiles softly.
"Is that even a question?"
⚔️Time skip⚔️
"Congratulations, Levi. You've done a great job again. Your fighting skills are amazing, we have won this battle too."
The king pats Levi's shoulder proudly as Levi kneels down in front of him. The king smiles.
"Rise, my knight. I have something to discuss with you."
Levi stands up and waits for the king to speak.
"Well, it's been almost five years, right? You've been away from the earl's territory? Why don't you go and visit them?"
Levi's heart thumps with excitement. Going back means he'll be able to see you. God, it's been so long.
"If that's what you want, your highness."
Levi speaks in his usual calm voice and the king nods. He sits one of the royal chairs made for him and sips his wine.
"Also, I want you to deliver a news to that family. I want their daughter as my brother's wife, they'll be a great match."
Levi blinks. The king wants you to marry the crown prince. Levi has spent a lot of time with the crown prince since they're both share same age so he knows that the crown prince is a nice person. Though he's a bit rude and dominating, he respects women and moreover Levi knows he'll treat you well. And knowing both of you, he can't help but agree with the king that you both will make a great couple. You both will like each other.
But why is his heart aching? Why does he want it not to happen? He's not a person who has anything to say here. After all it means you're well. Then why?
Only because he's selfish. Because he loves you. Because he doesn't want anyone else to take you away from him. But he also knows that he has no rights to keep you to himself. He should egarly let you marry the crown prince. He should let you be happy and safe. He should return the favour of you saving him.
He smiles bitterly in his mind.
"As you wish, your majesty."
⚔️ Time skip ⚔️
The more steps Levi's horse takes towards your mansion, the faster Levi's heart beats. It's been so long since he last saw you... He can't wait to see you again. You're probably prettier than before, smarter than before, sweeter than before!
But the question is do you still share the same friendly feeling you used to back then? His heart aches with uncertainty as he rides his horse faster.
Doesn't matter, you'll get married to someone else anyway.
The huge gate of the mansion opens as the guards bow respectfully at him. Some of the maids look at him secretly and drool over his handsome features. He gets off his horse and hands it to one of the guards as he walks towards the main entrance of the palace. His steps are firm, his aura is clearly showing off his confidence and strength. But everything vanishes when he sees you.
You've gotten taller, so is your hair. You have become more womanly, your curves are more attractive than before but that doesn't matter.....
He stopped in his tracks because you're currently running towards him, with tears in your eyes, smiling sweetly as ever as you jump on him and hug his neck tightly.
"Levi!"
You breathe heavily, burying your face in his neck not caring about the pain you're feeling because of crashing with his armour.
Levi's arms instinctively wrap around you as he breaths heavily, filling his nostrils with your scent. He chuckles, after such a long time.
"Don't hurt yourself, doll. I'm dangerous."
He says and pulls away from you. You chuckle widely.
"I don't care. Anyways, let's go inside. You must be tired."
⚔️ Time skip ⚔️
Levi keeps laying on the bed silently as he keeps looking up at the ceiling blankly. He has already informed your parents about the king's proposal and as expected they're happy about it. Levi doesn't know if you're happy or not because he didn't see your reaction, he just talked to your parents.
He sighs and sits up on the bed. His body is bare and he absent-mindedly caresses the scar on his chest. Suddenly he freezes as he hears his room's door opening.
Well normally Levi would have been attacked the person by now but it's your footsteps. He's very familiar with this sound because when you guys were younger it was a regular thing for you two to sneak into each other's room. He chuckles.
You enter his room with a sweet smile and close the door. Levi's breath hitches as he notices how sexy you look in the nightgown. The last time he saw you, you were sixteen. And now you're 21. Youth has done a terrifying beautiful thing to you, giving you a dangerous body which every man craves.
Levi notices you eyeing his bare body as your cheeks flush a little. And his own intense stare isn't helping either. He can tell it's rising your hormones up.
"You shouldn't be here."
Levi says calmly as you glare at him.
"Oh yes I can be! It's my mansion. You're the guest!"
You say in a firm tone and sit on the bed. You wrap your arms around your legs and place your jaw on your knees.
"What's wrong?"
Levi asks worriedly. He hasn't forgotten, it's a pose you make when you're sad.
"I don't wanna marry the crown prince."
You reply weakly.
"I wanna marry you."
Levi freezes. His heart starts to beat fast and his brain goes blank. He never expected you to have feelings for him so he doesn't know how to respond.
Though this is the only thing he ever wanted.
"Hey Levi...."
Levi blinks as you call his name softly. You smile and lean towards him.
"I've always liked you, you know.... You're my first love but... I didn't stop you back then because I didn't wanna be selfish. I have always wanted your well but...."
You take a deep breath and look into his eyes.
"I can't marry someone else when I love you. How can I be that unfaithful? But I'll totally understand if you don't have the same feelings......"
Before you can finish your sentence Levi presses his lips against yours, suddenly but gently. He grips your neck softly, tugging you towards him. He whispers against your lips as he keeps kissing you softly.
"I fell in love with you at the first sight, y/n. But since I was young it took me some time to understand the feeling. I'm only alive because of you, and I worked hard only because I wanted to be perfect for you."
He pulls away as he tucks your hair behind your ear and smiles.
"I didn't say anything because I thought I'm not worthy enough. Also I never imagined you would share the same feelings. I always wanted your well too. That's why I thought about burying my love for you and letting you get married to the crown prince but....."
Levi leans forward and whispers in your ear.
"Now that I know you love me, there's no going back. I've always fought throughout my life and I'll fight for you."
He says and presses a soft kiss on your neck making you shiver.
"Then let's run away.... Save me from this situation."
You whisper and hug his bare body.
"My family will understand. The crown prince is nice so I hope he'll understand too.... I'll write them letters. But for now.... Be my saviour, take me away from here!"
You plead, cupping his face and he kisses your palm. A smile creeps up on his face making you shiver in anticipation.
"As you order, my princess."
