Today in my brain:

Don't think about how April and the boys become Splinter's caretakers as he gets older. He's always been active, so it's a slower decline than most, but eventually, his body starts catching up with his age in more ways than just appearance.

Don't think about how Donnie and April research and make their home more accessible. Donnie builds mobility aids - a cane, a walker and braces so Splinter can get on and off his favourite couch on his own. A little robot that helps their dad carry things from place to place. April makes sure her first aid certification is always up to date, and learns as much as she can about caring for the elderly. She learns so she can spot symptoms as they appear.

Mikey starts being stricter about what they eat . He makes more pizzas from scratch, finds substitutes for Splinter's favourite snacks - and still keeps the junk food, but as a treat. The others are dragged in because there's no way he's cooking two meals, they all need to be healthier anyways, and they can't let dad feel alone!

Suddenly Leo is labeling everything! He has a system and of course it's colour coded. Leo ensures that Splinter is never left alone for too long. He starts creating shifts for patrols so someone is always nearby. The lair is no longer allowed to remain unclean for extended amounts of time, and they're always stocked with supplies.

Raph starts keeping track of doctor's appointments and schedules. He makes sure Splinter gets up and moves throughout the day, taking walks, even playing games with the others to keep his mind working. He encourages splinter to go to activities and make friends in the hidden city, anything really to keep him from always being cooped up in the lair.

It's not a perfect or easy reality. There are bad days when Splinter is stubborn or April and the boys get frustrated. They're still young, it's not going to happen perfectly, in fact it rarely does. They're becoming caretakers for thier dad, but they still need thier dad. They get into fights when the boys start making choices and changes. When Splinter's memory begins to fade, it upsets everyone and April forces everyone out to the rooftops at night for some fresh air and a much needed conversation.

There are still good moments too! Splinter may need to adjust, but he loves his children more than anything. So what if he can't spar with them anymore, he shows up to the next training session with score cards and ranks thier best moves mid fight. He calls out points and imitates the announcers from those boxing matches Raph loves so much.

He makes sure to spend time with all his kids individually, he leaves them little gifts, when he mixes up thier names they laugh at it more then they're upset about it. They make peace with it.

He's a badass, he's a loser, he's the coolest guy of all time, he's a pathetic little man, he's the greatest ninja the world has ever seen, hes an asshole, he has badass portal katanas, he's the fruitiest iteration of the charecter by far! Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you. The one, the only, RISE LEONARDO!

I mean just look at him!

He has these super cool swords and he’s a lil bit fruity

literally the gayest most flamboyant idiot teenager ever. he's a sassy overconfident bastard and we love him for it. he has a magic portal sword for most of the series. the kind of sword he wields (an ōdachi) was specifically picked because, AND I QUOTE, "he can't even hold that thing without looking like he was posing with it. we thought that was really fun for a kid who's got a giant sword and that kind of attitude." in previous tmnt iterations there was this guy, Usagi, who i guess those versions of Leo must have had some kind of chemistry with, idk. fun fact he's not even really a tmnt character, he's a crossover character who's just showed up in like three different iterations!! anyway, despite Usagi literally not existing in Rise canon, Rise!Leo gives off SUCH gay vibes that THE ENTIRE FANDOM HAS DECIDED THAT HE EXISTS ANYWAY AND IS LEO'S BOYFRIEND AND/OR MASSIVE CRUSH. THE ENTIRE FANDOM. I'M LITERALLY NOT EVEN EXAGGERATING. Leosagi is like, the biggest ship in the goddamn fandom and ONE OF THE CHARACTERS ISN'T EVEN CANON. this entire animatic. yeah.

Dual wields katanas like a boss. Has also used various other swords in different pieces of TMNT media. Regardless of which iteration of Turtles we're talking about, he's also almost always "close friends" with the katana-wielding samurai rabbit Usagi!

Just put these bois back up on my Etsy! They were off for a while since I did a dumdum and labeled it rtmnt. Playing it safe now, and they're ready to order again!

Leo and Don, the true disaster twins that they are, are $12 instead of $16 since I need to redo their colors a bit for any potential future orders. But I genuinely really love how they all came out otherwise and hope others enjoy them too!

The long awaited PART 12 of “ I Care” is UP!!!!!!!

All credit for the art and comic goes to @sarathrwizard, as well as she supplied the first background music in this dub. :) Her music is amazing, and you should definitely go check it out!! :) I lent my voice for the dialogue and editing, and Epidemic Sound covered the rest of the music and all of the sound effects. :)

My crush is so obsessed with the rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles series at the moment, and it is so sweet to hear her infodumping about them. Sometimes she will just start singing the rap theme tune thingbob. And like I have got no clue what is going on, I had a month or so long hyperfixation on the Nickelodeon series when I was eight, but I didn’t even retain the information of which turtle had which name after I stopped
