“What's the matter, livestock? Are you cold? Good. After all, this is your punishment.”

It was normal for you to feel cold because he poured ice-cold water on you after whipping you. The cold water is burning your bleeding wound. Your body was shaking, you coughed lightly.

Didn't it hurt him to see you like this? Didn't he love you at all? He treated you more like an animal than a human.

You can't take it anymore.

This was not love. A person in love does not want to harm even the hair of their loved one. He was obsessed with you.

You slowly lifted your head, looking at Ruki with pitiful eyes. You just want some warmth and sheets.

But he was just looking at you with cold eyes. It's disgusting for him that you were in such a humiliating state.

Humans are very weak.

“Don't look at me with that pathetic look, livestock. You did this to yourself. So don't expect me to pity you.”

He grabbed you by the hair and made you sit hard on your knees

“A-AH!”

“Silence. Livestock. Do not anger your master any further. I warned you before, but you insisted on not listening to me. You continue to disobey your master... It looks like I need to pay your parents a visit.”

Your eyes widened with fear. Is he implied he was going to kill your family?

No...

Even just imagining the bloody image of the family, your eyes filled with tears. You looked at Ruki with despair and fear in your eyes.

“Ruki-Kun, p-please.. please d-don't hurt m-my family! I promise I-I will n-never disobey y-you again! Punish me, *sobs* h-hit me, but... but p-please do n-nothing to my f-family!”

You couldn't help yourself and started sobbing and crying heartily. The thought of your family dying because of your fault has broken you.

You suddenly felt Ruki's grip on your hair release and you fell hard, facedown onto the cold, hard floor of the dungeon. You hugged yourself and continued to cry as Ruki watched you.

You were about to faint anymore; you were cold, and you had a fever already. You were nauseous and dizzy. You felt like you were going to die in that moment.

Black dots appeared before your eyes, the darkness slowly engulfing you. After a short while, you stopped crying and your body slowly relaxed.

You looked at Ruki with squinted eyes. He was looking at you with cold eyes.

“I-I'm... so... sorry... Ruki.. Kun...”

With these words, you lost consciousness.

“This fear will teach you to be a good livestock, livestock.”

I have a grin on my face while I say these words to her. Of course I won't do anything to her family like kill them. At least for now…

I leaned towards her and touched her soft, wet cheek with tears in one hand. Her skin was much warmer than a human's. But I knew this warmth wasn't normal. Her skin was warm because she had a fever.

With a sigh, I picked her up in my strong arms and made her way back up the stairs. I will take her back to my room. Because If she stayed a little longer in this cold and dirty dungeon, she could die.

After all, she was human.

“You will soon learn to be obedient to your master, livestock. Otherwise, your punishment will be more painful than that.”

I said these words while each step brought them closer to the light. From now on, everything will be how it was supposed to be.

BONUS CHAPTER: price to pay || kou (Game of Thrones AU)

The world is nothing but a whole barter system farce—or something Kou thought when he realized how little control he has over things.

When he was young, everything crumbled in front of his eyes. Parents scream each other's heads off as they tear their marriage apart in front of his young, innocent mind. Several years after, he would find himself in an underground city filled with dirt, filth, and rodents. But hands would touch him everywhere, lingering on his baby smooth skin as if he was a statue of a saint that would bless them with a child or a bounty of money.

"You're beautiful," they would tell him dirtily, eyes hungry for desire as their skin would graze and scar him.

And he would try to destroy himself each time they did, scrubbing his skin harshly every session. Even got to the point of destroying his one eye just so they would get rid of him.

And rid of him they did, tossing him on the streets and not minding if the dragons ate him or a soldier sliced him dead meat.

But it was all in the past.

Now, Kou sat on his own throne. He wasn't a king, of course. He's just a lord—a general, to be exact, governing one of the castles of the House Mukami as they prepare to dethrone the House Sakamaki with the help of the Church.

The Sakamakis... they will pay.

Every time Kou would hear about their house or see their family members in the flesh, he would feel a massive killing intent crawling deep into his skin and flesh, like blood running in his veins, keeping him alive. After all, the filthy fucking family took what is rightfully his.

My love; they took him away from me. He was mine. My only fool.

Once upon a time, there was a foolish soldier who had a romantic view of things. Even got to a point of saving an enemy soldier from almost dying because war is a foolish game and all the men fighting there have homes and wives to return to.

They all bark a laugh at him, but Kou didn't. He only gave a disapproving look and told him square in the eye that one day he would kill for the Mukami house and grieve about it for a few days. But afterward, he will start staining his hands with blood like his life depended on it.

The fool only snickered and said he would rather die than kill.

He was a fool, so Kou had to keep an eye on him many times, even going as far as to save him. And to this day, he still thinks this move was a mistake because every time he's around the fool, he falls in love deeper and deeper until he can't breathe at the thought of him vanishing one day without even holding him in his arms.

Of course, it wasn't a happy ending like Kou thought. They loved each other, sharing kisses in the forest with their hands intertwined as they made passionate love hidden away from the eyes of many. However, at that time, the House Mukami was framed for treason, and with no one to blame, they decided to take the fool's head.

Tears were slowly rolling down Kou's face as he remembered exactly how they chopped off the fool's head as Ruki and the others struggled to keep him away from him.

They will pay.

They will all pay.

And afterwards...

We'll meet again, my fool.

Ruki : The day progressed as usual after the morning came like the sun to the five met for breakfast. It reassured him to know that Y/n was safe. She was safe near his brothers. But he knew that she was safest with him. His gaze went from her and back to his food. But everything seemed fine, and the talk of his brothers and the laughter that arose made him smile. But like infinite life, the day slowly faded and night came again. The sun withdrew with its warmth and light and the moon came out. Ruki was in his room, he took off his gray jacket and the black shirt covered his upper body. It covered what was left of his humanity. When he was still mortal. When he was still an innocent child. In deep thought he had taken off the black shirt and now stood shirtless in his room. His otherwise always so collected thoughts circled around his painful past. ,, Ruki" a voice tore him out of his thoughts and he turned around to his now open door in which a surprised Y/n was standing. She saw it, there was no doubt that she had seen his scars. ,, Get out of the room!" he shouted at her and at the same time he could have shouted at himself. He saw the uncertain look and heard the fast heartbeat. She cried after she left his room. Nothing was easy in an infinite life, especially not when feelings would always accompany you.

Her crying was audible to the others as well, the eldest knew. Of course, his brothers asked him what was going on, but he just brushed them off. He had her in a vulnerable moment of his own. He knocked on her door and received a soft ,,Come in". With each sad beat of her heart, he felt bad. Carefully he sat down next to her on her bed. She wiped away her tears and looked at the floor. ,, I should have knocked," she said and he felt anger at himself. ,, No, I should have heard you. It's not your fault," he began and his cool hand carefully rested on her own warm one. ,, I was thinking that I...felt hurt, not many people know about the scars. But please forgive me, I shouldn't have shouted," he said. When he didn't get an answer he was about to pull his hand away when suddenly he felt her holding him. ,, I forgive you Ruki" she said and a slight smile played around her lips. Something that made him feel calm that she had forgiven him. ,, Come with me," he said suddenly and took her by the hand before they went to his room.

He took a book from his collection and sat down on the couch. She understood and sat down next to him. He began to read to her from the book and he noticed how her heartbeat became calmer. ,, Thank you for forgiving me," he said quietly, interrupting the reading briefly. She nodded before he suddenly felt her leaning against him slightly. He continued to read to her and soon she was asleep.

It was quiet and yet the fact that she had forgiven him was what gave him hope. The hope that infinity was not painful.

Kou : The blond second eldest was in the kitchen, preparing his lunch. Spagetthie Vongole. Something he had been looking forward to all along. He had made it his personal mission to make it for his brothers and their families. The pasta was boiling in the water and he didn't need much more when he heard something. At first he thought he had misheard. At first, Kou thought it was Azusa, but his younger brother didn't cry when he turned to his knives. When he heard another sniffle, he left the food and went to the source of the sound. He found himself in front of the house where he found Y/n outside. ,, Y/n-chan, what are you doing?" he asked with a smile when he saw her. She turned around and the sweet smell of her blood reached him. Sweet and irresistible, yet it was tainted with her crying expression. ,, Everything well " she shrugged off and wanted to pass him by. ,, Not so fast," he held her by the arm. ,, That was an obvious lie...you'll have to give me something" he purred and without using his eye. ,, Give?" he heard her obvious confusion. ,, Of course I gave you my time to see what's going on. In return, I'll take an answer," he explained, not noticing that he was gripping her arm tighter. ,, So what happened?" he asked again, not noticing that his tone had become cooler. ,, It was a cat, I wanted to pet it and it caught me with its claws on my hand," she finally confessed, which also explained the wound.

He saw the uncertain expression when she saw his eye light up red. ,, Let go Kou!" she said louder before she freed herself from his grip and disappeared into the mansion.

Was it necessary for him to be rough with her? Or was he just afraid that she was lying to him because he had hoped for something different. Something more intimate. The meal was normal for him, he thought Y/n was too quiet, but she seemed to be as preoccupied as he was. In the evening of the same day, when he could no longer bear her lifeless expression, he decided to do something. He knocked on her door and came in without waiting for the answer. ,, Y/n-chan, I have something for you," he said cheerfully and walked over to her. ,, Do you want something in return?" he heard her hurt voice and felt the stinging sensation in his chest. ,, No, this is something without give and take. Here, I hope she doesn't scratch," he said, looking at her confused expression before handing her the cat he had hidden under his jacket. The animal mewed as Y/n gently stroked the black fur. ,, Thank you Kou," she thanked him and smiled as the cat purred woollily. ,, You're welcome, Y/n-chan, I guess I shouldn't have overreacted like that, sorry," came the blond's reply, and he looked at her forgivingly. ,, We all have our reasons...it's okay" she said and offered him to play with the cat as well. While he listened to her calm heartbeat and her sweet smile, he thought that just giving and enjoying it could be worth a lot.

Request: (I hope it’s okay to request a Ruki x male reader? Diabolik Lovers, plz!) You’re the 7th Sakamaki brother. You fell asleep for the night but Ruki Mukami steals you away. You wish to leave the Mukami manor, but as the days go by and so far no one has come to save you, you start to fall deeply in love with Ruki as he feels the same for you.

You knew the moment that Ruki was able to get his hands on you that you were never going home, your brother’s had no intentions of coming to get you and the scars on your body were proof of that. Ruki had given you your own room would often stop by to make sure that his brothers weren’t causing you any trouble and make sure that you weren’t trying to escape, for the first few nights you were constantly trying to get out but after a while, you just stopped, that was because you realised that there was no one coming to save.

One day he walked into the room and you were looking out the window “They aren’t coming for you.” He said and you looked at him. “I know that.” You muttered as you leaned forward your chin resting on your knee. “Then why do you waste your time looking out the window?” He asked. “I never had a window at home.” You answered. “You never had a window?” He asked. “No. Reiji would have been upset if he found me where you did.” You answered as you looked over at him and smiled. “You’ve treated me far better than my brothers ever did.” “You don’t like them?” He asked. “They don’t like me.” You answered. “They don’t like each other.” Ruki looked at you it was now that he realised that you were a little thinner than the others and there were bruises that littered your arms but that was the only part of your body that he could see, he didn’t say anything after that leaving you to yourself.

Ruki felt that you reminded him a lot of himself when he was younger,  you were beaten down by everyone around you and you didn’t seem to see a way out. “Come with me,” Ruki ordered as he gestured for you to follow him, you did as you were told, head down as you walked through the halls behind him, he leads you outside to the garden. “Do you like it?” “Yeah.” You nodded, he smiled softly to himself as he stepped behind putting a finger under your chin to shift your gaze up. “How would you know that you haven’t looked yet.” He said softly. “I- It’s beautiful.” You said as your eyes moved around the garden taking in the colours of the flowers. “Yuma takes care of the garden,” Ruki said. “You all seem close.” Your eyes moved around the garden never once landing on him though. “We are close but I intend for us to be closer.” He admitted. “You want to get to my brothers.” You argued, “this has nothing to do with me.” Ruki turned you and you flinched back, he frowned letting go of you, he could see it the marks that had been left on your skin because of constant bruising. “Show me.” He ordered you stepped back away from him but he appeared behind you gently wrapping an arm around you “I don’t want to hurt you, I promise.” You shouldn’t trust him but he hadn’t attempted to hurt you once, usually, you could even look at your brother without angering them, you hadn’t even noticed his hands moving from your wrist to the buttons of your shirt. Ruki’s eyes moved over your torso when it was revealed to him, there were more prominent scars there, he could see that some of them needed stitches, his hands run over them causing you to flinch but he shushed you gently as he pulled you closer “I promised that I didn’t want to hurt you.” He said. “Why?” You asked. “I told you, I want you for myself.” He answered pressing a kiss to the side of your head. “I won’t let them take you back, I’ll keep you safe.” “I’ve been promised safety before.” You said softly. “I intend to follow through.” He said softly.

The next couple of week he proved that he only wanted to keep you safe and soon his brothers started to show the same protective behaviour, it was the first time that they decided to go out and this time you said that you would go with them. Ruki had ordered that you get yourself some new clothes, he wasn’t very far but he wanted you to pick them for yourself, it was becoming painfully clear that you weren’t given much choice, you didn’t know what you liked. Someone grabbed your arm and you looked back to see “There you are.” Ayato grabbed your wrist painfully tight as you tried to pull away from him, your breath caught in your throat as you looked around, you couldn’t see Ruki anywhere. “Reiji is so mad.” “I think you’ll want to let go.” Ruki’s voice sounded behind you a comforting arm wrapped around your waist as his hand reached forward to pry away Ayato’s hand. “You’re livestock is in trouble.” Ayato gritted his teeth before walking away. “Are you okay?” “Mmm.” You hummed. “Come on we’ll pay for this and then we’ll leave.”  He said pressing a kiss to the side of your head before leading to the counter paying for everything before heading home not once letting go of you.

This plan to him was quite odd and he honestly didn't see which route this man was going. Yes he chose to be in cahoots with this man but only to be free... Coming to America was probably the oddest thing he's ever done.. of course moving from home to here was simple, no commotion.. but he could tell his brothers were on edge.

Ruki, after the whole livestock-Yui- dying thing... He most definitely blamed it on the other brothers... I mean who wouldn't... Anyways, after that he didn't know what he was doing still following orders for Karlheinz. Did he have something planned or... did he just do this to cause some ruckus?

Ruki didn't see any issue with going to school here, especially since the blood smelt oddly amazing... but he doesn't have any interest in anyone here... he can say that the females here are quite expressive and they sort of have their own flow... though when his eyes gazed upon someone else.. his eyes widened..

The male didn't expect to see such beauty casted before his eyes. The sunlight was beaming off the darker skin of a girl. Her eyelashes long and her attire.. not so slutty, but enough to show off her curves. Ruki wasn't blind to American knowledge, and he knows you're a black woman obviously... Though he can't understand why he hasn't seen this in person.

"(Y/n) (L/n)... please answer question thirty five... just to see if you understand...?"

Ruki watched as your eyes glared the teacher, he could already tell from where he was sitting.. that you were a handful... though that only caused him to make up these scenarios in his mind... he wanted you to be his of course, he wanted to rip the attitude away from you... make you call him master... and in his way of thinking... he already knew of a way to get you hooked...

The only brother really taking it hard? Though not so much because he found out that he has actually more fans here than.... over at his old school. Reasons unknown... though he wasn't complaining.. especially with the millions of different toned females.. Kou had never seen such beauty...

Kou is used to the pale skin, he himself has pale skin... though seeing these other females who had brown skin, dark skin... his first thought was 'goddesses..?' But that wasn't the case. He also liked the different scents of blood. They were all oddly stronger than more paler people.. he just couldn't wait to sink his teeth into one of them... one of them would have to be fascinated with him.

The females in this school tend to be more on the sneaky side of things, Kou noticed that but his hearing is enhanced so he listens to conversations when he passes by... he may give the girl a flirty smile too... only to see her cover her mouth and look away in embarrassment.

Kou also noticed how many people had earbuds in, closing themselves from the outside world. But he was more interested in this one girl who was sitting alone at lunch. Her hair was so pretty to him, as well as the nails that happened to match her outfit.. he could tell people fawned over her.. considering the people staring at her.. though he couldn't help but realize that she didn't care... softly mumbling the most seductive words to a song with her glossy lips...

He wanted to see her under him, he wanted to see her moaning his name.. Let's just say he's pretty close to doing so... because it wasn't a week later until he had you interested in him.

Yuma wouldn't say... he didn't like this huge change.. he wouldn't say he liked it either.. he was in the firm middle. Obviously he has to plant new tomatoes in his new garden.. and he obviously has to get used to the new people.. they seemed aggressive like him so he actually found it funny...

He found himself being stared at most the time because well, he is tall.. but he also is quite fine. Yuma figured these girls were crazy, he wouldn't say he didn't have fangirls at his old school but they were mostly into his other brothers or the Sakamaki brothers.. but it seemed like he got the more attention now...

He even found himself being invited to watch a whole cheerleading practice.. in which Kou came along because he'd never seen a cheerleading team before.. their old school didn't allow it.

Anyways, Yuma figured he'd be bored about this whole thing but he ended up choking on a sugar cube when he saw one of the girls on the floor doing a dance routine that caused her thighs to jiggle like jello... and the way she moved... she did it fiercely... We all know Yuma likes rude females... so when he heard how loud you were, commanding the other girls to follow your lead... he felt his ears get red.

The dude was in such a trance, especially since your hair was in a cute puff/bun with braids/bun. He also couldn't help but stare at your skin, yeah everyone else had the same dark skin... different shade of course but yours mixed with your beauty was alluring.

He then noticed that the females stopped cheering and your (e/c) eyes were staring right at him when you walked up the bleachers... a smirk casting upon your face when you grabbed your bag that was right beside him...

Apparently you had a deep cut from a box... you were helping one of the teachers out and got punished for it? That was just rude of the box...

Anyways, your (e/c) eyes looked around before landing on Azusa. His eyes softly staring at you, and lord did he look sad.. his whole aura was depressing but also happy? You gave him a light smile and it made his stomach flutter... just smiling back slowly as he looked down at his hands in his lap... you were pretty to him.. and you had this sense of love coming from you... like a mother..

Over time, his brothers noticed him acting somewhat different? Eventually he'd gotten advice and now you were just so attached to him.

It was cold, what Yui felt. She slowly opened her pink eyes; she was in the dungeon.

Right, Ruki had thrown her into the Dungeon, as punishment for trying to escape from him. Yui would never have guessed that Ruki would do this.

Ruki's punishments usually being either heavy housework or biting her very hard.

She tried to move, but she was chained; did she really anger him off that much?

After a short silence, Ruki bent over to Yui and wrapped one hand around her delicate neck.

Yui's eyes widened with fear.

"You know why you're here, don't you, livestock?"

Yui hesitated to speak, so she slowly nodded her head in approval.

After staring at him for a while, Ruki finally spoke; "I suppose, I've been too kind to you these days. You took advantage of it to try and avoid me, right, livestock."

With these words, Ruki took his hand off the girl's neck and stood up, leaving the dungeon for a short time, leaving Yui frightened and uneasy.

What would he do to her?

Yui's fear increased even more when she heard footsteps coming down the stone stairs. Over again, she writhed and tried to free herself from the chains. No matter how much try, all her efforts ended up leaving only light scratches on her body from the chains.

As Ruki got closer to Yui, she could see the punishment tools in his hands.

He had a bucket of icy water and an ash stir iron for fireplaces in his hand.

The tip of the iron was red; it was heated in the fire.

Yui's eyes filled with fear and tears; was that honestly, this a price for wanting to be free? Was that the punishment for anyone wanting to live without slaves and blood bags?

"R-Ruki-Kun? What w-will you do?"

"I will purify the body and mind of livestock that does not obey ıt's master."

With these words, he slowly put down the bucket of ice water in his hand, and he walked towards Yui with the iron heated by the fire in his hand; He was satisfied and excited to see the fear in her eyes.

As Ruki got closer, Yui tried to back away, but the chains were holding her back.

"R-Ruki-Kun! Please, I- I'm so sorry! Just don't do that! Don't— KYAA!!!"

Ruki's ears deafened to the chained tiny girl's pleas.

Without listening to her, he pressed the hot iron on her arm. It was causing a cry of pain from Yui that resounded in the dungeon that even his brothers could.

"Cry, livestock. For trying to betray your master. This pain will teach you to be obedient livestock."

After a painful wait, Ruki tore the hot iron off her burnt arm and tore her sweater with his free hand. She was sitting across from him, half-naked, wearing only a bra and skirt.

Even though Yui was sobbing and whimpering in pain, Ruki pressed the hot iron to Yui's stomach without showing any sign of mercy.

"STOP! RUKİ-KUN— AAAAHHH!!!"

Ruki was not stopped by the smell of burning meat and the irritating sound that was made when a hot iron touched Yui's delicate skin. He was determined. One who is ruled by fear and pain is always obedient.

Ruki slowly pulled the iron towards her thigh and pressed it there too. She was screaming and crying in pain even more. He didn't regret it and never will. This pain would be a lesson for her.

While screaming and crying, Yui struggled to form proper sentences.

"R-Ruki-Kun— I'm so sorry! I-I'm really sorry— *Sobs* I w-will n-never disobey y-you again! I learned my lesson— *Sobs* J-Just please s-stop! *Sobs* It's h-hurts too much! I'm begging you... *Sobs*"

Watching her pathetically cry, he held the hot iron on Yui's skin for a while longer and pulled it back. He threw the hot iron to the ground and stood up.

He was still staring coldly at Yui, who was about to pass out from the pain. He was still furious with her; she tried to run away from him. She tried to leave him, like his mother...

His confidence in her had diminished.

Women were always like that; when they get bored, they leave him. Even though they know how much he loves her, they leave without thinking.

She was trembling from the cold and she was crying in a low tone.

Ruki frowned and told her in a harsh and cold tone.

"You were just complaining about the heat and pain, and now you're complaining about the cold. I do not care. You should have thought of that before you betrayed me."

Hearing Yui's voice starts to fade slowly, he knew she was going to faint. Of course, he was going to pick it up soon, because she could have been diagnosed with hyperthermia. He aimed to punish her by tormenting her and making her know her place. He loved her too much to want to kill her, but Yui didn't understand that.

Furthermore, she tried to leave him alone. Just as his mother...

"For now, you will stay here, livestock. Every minute you spend here alone, thinking about your mistake, and betrayal."

He looked at Yui's burnt small body for the last time and turned his head in front of the stairs with a sigh. His eyebrows were still frowning.

He climbed up the stairs, he got away from the stinking air of the dungeon and its dirty place.

Ruki was sure that Yui had learned her lesson. She would learn to love him and not run away from him.

Kou still remembers the day love died inside of him, a nightmare he relives as he breathes the life around him. It was an itch that no matter how hard he scratches, it comes back with more and more wounds and scabs that would remind him of the man he once used to be

It all started when he held those prison bars, staring accusingly at the fool inside the cell who only looked at him apologetically. There was a sad smile on his face as he walked towards the blonde, hands gently reassuringly caressing his.

Why was he reassuring him? He's about to die later. He should be pleading—begging someone to save him from this misery.

"Why did you do that?" Kou questioned in disbelief. This cannot be happening. Not to me. Not to HIM. "You should've defended yourself. You should've fought for your life. You're not a traitor! You're-you're—"

You're just a fool. A fool that I love dearly so.

"That's the only choice I have," the fool replied, reaching out a hand to caress Kou's cheek in the most loving way possible. "The others from our house will die. I can't afford that."

"So what? Are you trying to tell me—" Kou couldn't believe what he was about to say at the moment. "Are you convincing me that our duty comes first before my love for you? Is that what all this is about?"

"My lord—"

"DO NOT CALL ME THAT!" his voice echoed in the dungeon, cracking in desperation and frustration. "Y-You... You always call me by my name, especially... when we're alone together-"

"But we're not together," the fool clarified morosely, forcing himself to spit out the words, "not anymore."

Kou was saddened by this fact—no, he was hurt. Hurt at the fact that no matter how hard he tried, he won't change his mind. Even if he give up everything—his honor, his family, his name, his pride—nothing.

NOTHING.

The fool will still die today under false accusations.

Kou and his brothers ensured their hoodies weren't slipping off, cautiously looking around them to see if someone would recognize them. After all, the traitors from the Mukami household were set to die today.

They witnessed how their heads were cut off in one piece, their faces in shock as blood oozed out of their necks. Kou saw how Ruki swallowed deeply at that, fully aware of how these soldiers fought for their house while sacrificing every bit of happiness they had.

And when it was the fool's turn, Kou stared him square in the eye, convincing him he was not one to regret everything. Why would he? He fought for him, defended him when everyone turned against him.

So why?

Why is he suddenly trying to walk toward the fool as if he wanted him out there?

Yuma was quick enough to pull him back, hissing in his ear, "Kou, stop. You can't."

"I—I have to. Yuma, please—"

"Kou..." Azusa leaned down to whisper in his ear, "stop... everyone will know—"

"I don't care!" Kou screeched quietly, witnessing how the Sakamaki soldier swings his blade toward the fool's head. "I—I—I love him—"

And in one swift move, the fool's head was rolling down the floor, tears falling from Kou's eyes as he struggled from Yuma's hold.

Ruki did nothing but hug Kou so he would stay put, his face shaken in vengeance and lust for power. He knows he can't apologize to Kou after this. After all, he wasn't still the head of the house.

"Kou," Ruki started, "let's go."

Kou shook his head, still wanting to run toward the fool and be with him for one last time. "I have to go, Ruki. Can't you see?"

Can't you see how much I'm suffering?

And the next thing, Ruki punched him in the gut, enough to knock him out, sighing in frustration as he ordered Yuma to carry him back to their hideout.

"So..." Yuma trailed off, trying to break the awkward silence, "what's our next move?"

They were now back at the hideout, with Kou lying on his side of the bed while Azusa organizes all his medicine tools and Ruki rolls up all the maps he had brought.

"I have already talked to King Karlheinz in private," Ruki announced, making Azusa and Yuma perk up at the news.

"Eh... did he... say... something... bad?" Azusa asked worriedly, tired of all the wars between their house and the Sakamaki's. After all, the war has brought nothing to them but tragedy and loss.

"I won't say anything about it," Ruki responded, "well, for now, at least. Our master will still hold a war against them after what happened today. All we can do is abide by our duties."

But until then, my plan will take place, Ruki's unspoken words lingered.

These are the words Ruki tells himself over and over again. The Mukami house has lost thousands of lives, and he won't let anyone get away with it.

Meanwhile, Kou was sleeping soundly, tear stains on his cheeks because he was lost in a beautiful, sad dream. A dream where he held the fool in his arms as they smiled at each other in bliss, the world free of suffering.

Request: (I hope it’s okay to request a Ruki x male reader? Diabolik Lovers, plz!) You’re the 7th Sakamaki brother. You fell asleep for the night but Ruki Mukami steals you away. You wish to leave the Mukami manor, but as the days go by and so far no one has come to save you, you start to fall deeply in love with Ruki as he feels the same for you.

You knew the moment that Ruki was able to get his hands on you that you were never going home, your brother's had no intentions of coming to get you and the scars on your body were proof of that. Ruki had given you your own room would often stop by to make sure that his brothers weren't causing you any trouble and make sure that you weren't trying to escape, for the first few nights you were constantly trying to get out but after a while, you just stopped, that was because you realised that there was no one coming to save.

One day he walked into the room and you were looking out the window "They aren't coming for you." He said and you looked at him. "I know that." You muttered as you leaned forward your chin resting on your knee. "Then why do you waste your time looking out the window?" He asked. "I never had a window at home." You answered. "You never had a window?" He asked. "No. Reiji would have been upset if he found me where you did." You answered as you looked over at him and smiled. Ruki turned you and you flinched back, he frowned letting go of you, he could see it the marks that had been left on your skin because of constant bruising. "Show me." He ordered you stepped back away from him but he appeared behind you gently wrapping an arm around you "I don't want to hurt you, I promise." You shouldn't trust him but he hadn't attempted to hurt you once, usually, you could even look at your brother without angering them, you hadn't even noticed his hands moving from your wrist to the buttons of your shirt. Ruki's eyes moved over your torso when it was revealed to him, there were more prominent scars there, he could see that some of them needed stitches, his hands run over them causing you to flinch but he shushed you gently as he pulled you closer "I promised that I didn't want to hurt you." He said. "Why?" You asked. "I told you, I want you for myself." He answered pressing a kiss to the side of your head. "I won't let them take you back, I'll keep you safe." "I've been promised safety before." You said softly. "I intend to follow through." He said softly.

The next couple of week he proved that he only wanted to keep you safe and soon his brothers started to show the same protective behaviour, it was the first time that they decided to go out and this time you said that you would go with them. Ruki had ordered that you get yourself some new clothes, he wasn't very far but he wanted you to pick them for yourself, it was becoming painfully clear that you weren't given much choice, you didn't know what you liked. Someone grabbed your arm and you looked back to see "There you are." Ayato grabbed your wrist painfully tight as you tried to pull away from him, your breath caught in your throat as you looked around, you couldn't see Ruki anywhere. "Reiji is so mad." "I think you'll want to let go." Ruki's voice sounded behind you a comforting arm wrapped around your waist as his hand reached forward to pry away Ayato's hand. "You're livestock is in trouble." Ayato gritted his teeth before walking away. "Are you okay?" "Mmm." You hummed.
