“Ow!” Steve hissed, nicking his finger yet again as he made his best effort to dice pesky onions. The knife was razor-sharp as it was fresh out of its packaging, having never been used yet. Frustrated, he squeezed the band-aid he'd spent a solid ten minutes looking for, tighter on his finger, earning a harsh sting.
"Goddamned knife," he whispered, tightlipped, but as soon as the complaint left his lips he wished to yank it back in. It was the chef's knife you'd bought him along with many other thoughtful housewarming gifts to celebrate Steve moving into his first apartment. Steve had insisted that you return some of the gifts, noting that "one gift was more than he could ever ask for".
In spite of his pleas, you didn't return a single gift. Of course, you didn't. You had bought items you knew Steve would need but would ultimately forget to buy for himself. Just to name a few, you'd gotten him a trash bin for his bathroom, a record player, and the best utensil set that the rest of your Family Video paycheck could buy.
Peering at the odd assortment of household objects you'd lugged into his barren apartment with a bright smile pulling at the corners of your lips, an expression of gratitude and bewilderment claimed his face. Steve's round, chestnut-brown eyes ogled yours as you ranted and raved, explaining your thought process behind each purchase.
The record player was for nights like these. Peaceful nights indoors, simply enjoying each other's company without the tense presence of his parents who would shout for him to turn that damn music down if he even thought about letting the needle hit the groove of the record.
"Now we can play music as loud and as much as we want to," he remembered you saying, blushing at your use of the word "we". Though you two were only best friends and have been since grade school, Steve couldn't help but fantasize about a life with you. You, drowning in one of his bigger-than-you t-shirts, prancing around the apartment as you listened to some your favorite records.
He'd begun pondering on how he would rearrange the bit of furniture he had, that'd allow for space for your belongings as well, before you lured him out of his thoughts, defending the bin.
From what he gathered, you bought the garbage bin due to his burning inability to keep his bathroom clean. Steve was someone who took great care of his appearance, always well-kempt and attentive to even the smallest of details.
His bathroom did not reflect this, whatsoever. He had a bad habit of harboring empty cans and bottles of Farrah Fawcett spray that littered the already limited counter space he had in his en suite bathroom.
Steve was such a boy when it came to tidiness.
Everyone knew that about Steve, though. What they didn’t know, however, was how skilled he was in a kitchen. After being left to his lonesome whenever his parents would venture off to one of their many business trips, Steve spent his nights learning to cook after his allowance dwindled and he couldn't afford pizza delivery anymore. The second he'd clock in for his shift at Family Video, he'd make a beeline to where you stood, stocking VHS tapes, and instantly began buzzing and bustling about the new recipe he tried the night before.
You had begged him to let you come over one night to taste one of his home-cooked meals, but his response was always the same. "You can't rush perfection, sweets. But I promise, when I'm ready to grace the world with my master chef skills, you'll be the first to know."
You would roll your eyes dramatically at him but admittedly, you felt a sense of pride wash over you whenever Steve would tell you about his cooking endeavors. It may not seem like a big deal to others, but you knew how much his parents being so negligent, so often, bothered him.
Though they were never the most warm and affectionate, there seemed to be a colder chill and heavier sense of loneliness in the house when they were gone. That's why you never denied Steve whenever he'd call late at night asking if it was okay to spend the night at your house.
He always felt at home there.
Steve learning to cook for himself meant that his parents' absence was finally beginning to help him grow; no longer craving validation and tenderness from his family. He got that when he was with you. That's what the utensil set was for. A silent sign saying that though his parents weren't there, you were.
"Don't get me wrong, sunshine, I love the gift, but why's this knife so funny looking?" Steve asked, squinting his eyes at the sharp object that looked like it was from some alien universe. It had three square-like holes infiltrating the blade, and the tip came to an up-turned point that split in two. The handle was the only average looking part about it.
"That, my friend, is a cheese knife," you answered matter-of-factly, gazing at the box that had all of the included utensils neatly labeled.
"They make knives specifically for cheese?"
"Apparently, yeah," you snorted, tossing the empty box off to the side of the room with the other discarded cardboard that you made a mental note to move to the recycling bin on your way out. Steve never recycled. Bad habit he picked up from his parents, you figured.
"Well, I can't wait to use my weird new knife. Thank you. Seriously," Steve smiled softly as he watched you with those big brown eyes that voiced his gratitude and sentiment louder than his words ever could.
"The best weird chef has to have the best weird equipment. You're welcome," you grinned, toying with the loose thread dangling from your distressed band tee, as your eyes collided with Steve’s.
Looking at Steve was hard.
In the midst of quiet and almost intimate moments like these, the nerves bolting through your body screamed at you to look anywhere else, but the greed of your heart yearned for you to keep drinking in the deep chocolate pools that were Steve Harrington's eyes.
The two of you gazed at each other for another second, though it felt identical to a blissful eternity, until Steve furrowed his eyebrows after registering what you'd just uttered. "Did you just call me weird?" He asked, hand on his hip as if he's offended, though he truthfully isn't because he's positive you're infinitely weirder than he is, and he's more than willing to debate with you for hours on that topic.
"Nooo," you sang, quickly turning away to distract yourself with some unpacking that Steve had called you over to help him with, which you happily agreed to. A little extra time with him was time well spent.
"Yeah, okay," he rolled his eyes. He happily tucked away the flashy silverware he'd poached from his parent's kitchen into the darkest corner of the drawer, leaving the less flashy but much more appreciated utensils you bought him, front and center, ready to be shown off.
"Oh those? My best friend got them for me. Aren't they nice? Did you know they make knives for cheese?" He imagined himself saying, hoping he'd get the opportunity to boast about them to his guests some time soon.
Steve smiled to himself at the memory, angling the cutting board that harbored a pile of diced onions that he'd at last conquered, into a bowl, sliding them off with the blade of a knife that was a lot less odd shaped compared to his trusty cheese knife. It didn't even have to be that specific memory. It could've been any imagery of you being the effortlessly sarcastic, intelligent, breath-taking person that you were, and it would be the warm light to inevitably guide him out of whatever dark mood that dared to plague him.
Steve was so helplessly in love with you.
April 14, 1978, he could never forget the day, was particularly dreary. So dreary it made Steve begin to question why the spring time was thought to be such a radiant, pleasant season when all it ever did was bring rain and provoke people with allergies. Steve slammed his blaring alarm off with a groan, never bothering to pry open his tired eyes.
The sky was dark and dreadful, concealing the golden rays of the sun he yearned to see. As he trudged through the house, reluctantly gearing himself up for yet another torturous day of middle school, Steve silently prayed for some unorthodox happenstance that would call for the canceling of school.
But much to his dismay, that wasn't the case.
When the bell pierced through the classroom speakers, alerting the beginning of Steve's favorite class, P.E., he rushed to the locker room, jumping into his gym uniform, as he was determined to continue his unfaltering streak of dodgeball victories.
Steve was in the zone, taking out his opponents left and right as if it was nothing. If dodgeball was an Olympic sport, there was no doubt in anyone's mind that he could've won multiple gold medals.
Then you came.
Sauntering into sixth grade gym class, adorning a lengthy, bright yellow dress with your hair done up, looking as anxious as can be. It was your first day at Hawkins Middle and you'd just transferred halfway into the semester, all thanks to your parents decision to move to the small town, leaving New York City and all your friends behind.
Everyone turned their curious heads to peer at you, whispering amongst each other, prompting you to clutch your books tighter to your chest as if to shield yourself. Your soft smile as you looked around at your new classmates instantly made Steve's chest and stomach warm and gooey inside, making him want nothing more than to walk up to you and convince you to be his friend. Steve hated how gossipy his classmates were, as it clearly made you uncomfortable, but he couldn't bring himself to look away either.
The way the illuminous medallion hue complimented your skin tone was nothing short of art. To him, you were the sun personified. The sun he was so eager to see.
Due to your lack of sports attire, Coach Daniels had you sit on the bleachers, watching as the other kids resumed their game of dodgeball after mumbling a "warm" welcome to you, per Coach's request.
Steve lost his first game of dodgeball that day. He just couldn't seem to focus when you were perched just a few feet away, thumbing through your withered book, looking like one of the prettiest girls he'd ever laid his adolescent eyes on. Steve, or the boy with the hella good hair as you dubbed him in your diary later on that night, was too enamored with you to be bothered by the taunts coming from his friends. He jogged over to you, offering to keep you company until fourth period began, which you happily accepted.
And ever since then, the two of you have been as thick as thieves.
"Hawkins PD, open up!" Steve recognized your muffled voice, though you deepened it, to imitate a police officer. Your signature three knocks followed, urging butterflies to erupt throughout his stomach, as he longed to see you. It couldn't have been more than twenty-four hours since the two of you had last seen each other, but even one hour without you was an hour way too long for poor Steve.
"It's open", Steve called, tossing a hand towel over his shoulder, setting the stove ablaze, planting a pot over the flame. Right on time, he thought.
"Hey, Harrington," you smiled as you struggled to enter, cradling two bottles of rosé wine and your purse in your arms, pushing the door open with the help of your hip.
"Hey, sunshine. Lemme get those for ya," Steve offered, stowing your bearings on the counter gently, while you kicked your shoes off, mumbling a "thanks".
A warm amber light casted from the ceiling of the kitchen spilled into the shadowy living room a few feet away, like a neglected can of paint. The only thing that remained un-melted by the darkness was the quiet record player, as if the generous light knew you'd be looking for it the minute you walked in.
"How was your day?" Steve smirked as he watched you rush over to the object he swore was the only reason you liked to come over, sifting through the vinyl's searching for your favorite one. What’s Love Got To Do With It by Tina Turner. Steve spotted it before you did. Absentmindedly, you responded, “Not too shabby, ya know? How was yours?”
“Yeah, it was alright.”
You crouched down to the two tier storage table, running a finger across the spines of the records, searching for your beloved song. It quickly became the song you most adored when you'd bought the tape for your Walkman a few years prior. Your days weren't complete unless you played the song at least twice, so much so that Steve found himself quietly humming the song to himself whenever he'd miss you. He even caught himself doing that dumb little finger dance you normally did whenever you listened to a song you really liked. He'd never tell you that, though.
Much to your dismay, you couldn't seem to spy that sneaky record. You dropped your hand disappointedly, faintly fearsome that it'd been misplaced. Steve's apartment wasn't huge, but it wasn't exactly tidy either. “It’s right there, sweets. To your left.” So you diverted your attention to the left. No Tina Turner. “No, your other left.”
“Here?” you pointed. Steve hummed in confirmation.
“Well, that’s not the left, Steve. That’s the right,” was your response that you punctuated with a roll of your tired eyes. Apart from knowing how to get to Skull Rock with his eyes closed, the boy had zero sense of direction. It was something you found both endearing and infuriating. It depended on the day, really.
“Potato, potahto.” Oh, Steve. Melting butter into the burning pan in front of him that he almost completely forgot about, all thanks to your beautiful presence, he began sautéing his diced onions along with some fresh garlic. "Well, speaking of 'potahtoes' you need to be cooking some, 'cause you promised me dinner tonight," you smiled tight-lipped, cocking your head at an angle.
You felt the unpleasant sensation of your stomach growling, cursing you, at the heavenly thought of food as your shift at Family Video earlier today was unforgiving to your non-existent breakfast. You fumbled with the vinyl a bit as the mouthwatering aroma of home cooking stormed your senses and Steve spoke once more. "Feisty today, aren't we?"
"Just a tad," you laughed quietly.
"Well, I hate to disappoint you but tonight we're not having potatoes. I'm making your favorite," he pointed, shuffling the pan to give it a gentle stir. He made sure to turn to face you in time to see your hopefully delighted reaction. "Alfredo?!" you spun around with a glittering grin, almost knocking over Steve's plant. A fake one, of course. A real plant was a bit too much responsibility for him.
At the nod of his head, your cheesy smile soften to a smaller, less toothy one as you watched Steve while he resumed cooking. What you failed to share with your best friend was that the last phrase you'd actually use to describe your day was "not too shabby". Besides waking up almost an entire hour past the start of your shift (Keith made sure to give you an earful about that) and everyone and their mother in town deciding to be at Family Video today, it seemed like your day was never-ending. The only thing keeping your mood from turning stink to sour was the idea of going to see Steve.
Steve was kind of magical in that way. Anger, sadness, anxiety, you name it, it was no match for Steve. Though he was no poet, he had this way with words that would never fail to make you feel so comforted. So safe. Any instance where Steve had to talk you out of whatever mental turmoil you were enduring, it felt you were being endlessly wrapped in a cozy, tight blanket, sheltering you from all the darkness.
How Steve knew you were having a shit day and needed your favorite meal along with your favorite boy? Lord knows. His ability to read you without even needing to be near you was nothing short of wizardry. But like you said. Steve was magical.
"You're the best," you proclaimed, prompting a mumbled sly remark from your chef for the evening, before the music began. Being here, along with the divine sound of Tina's ethereal voice and pasta boiling in water, was more than enough to make you feel like you were right at home, though your true address was miles away. When the time to depart would make its cursed arrival, it was never easy to leave, especially with the way Steve begged for you to stay, using those unfairly adorable puppy dog eyes that paired beautifully with his lengthy lashes, against you.
And it always worked. Well, not always. You had some degree of self-control. But more times than not, you couldn't help but to cave in to his protests. How could you resist? It was Steve.
With a satisfied grin that carved deep smile lines into his blushing cheeks, he'd tuck his sheets snug around your body, repeatedly asking you if you were comfortable enough. His bed was cloud-like, plush and doughy and his pillows smelled like his shampoo and conditioner, a hint of cologne on his comforter. It was like you were trapped in a cocoon of Steve. You wanted to tell him you were beyond comfortable, that there, in his bed, you were in just about your favorite place on Earth but, habitually, you concluded that a simple nod would suffice.
Crawling onto the empty space beside you, he made sure to face you, leaving a soft squeeze on your shoulder before humming "G'night, sunshine," closing his eyes and tucking his hands under his head. And like always, Steve was a perfect gentleman, dead set on never getting under the covers himself when you'd sleep over.
Guilt would disrupt your relaxation at the sight of the brisk night chill building little hills on his freckled arms, though you selfishly loved the way he'd cuddle up to steal some of your body heat. His plump lips would part as he drifted into a peaceful slumber, light snores and chirping crickets being your lullaby.
You hoped to have another night like that soon.
In the midst of times like those, storms of wonder and doubt raged on. Was Steve like this with everyone else? Were you being silly thinking that you and Steve could be more than friends? Being Steve's best friend for nearly a decade, you knew he wasn't exactly a prude. His King Steve era was honestly one of your least favorites. Though he reserved his usual tenderness and affection all for you, you've witnessed a whole slew of girls enter and leave Steve's life, and none of them looked like you.
You wanted nothing more than to be one of the girls he'd have leaned up against his locker, arm resting next to their head, cheeks fanned by his minty breath as he whispered honeyed words. You craved dates at the drive-in theater in Steve's burgundy 1983 BMW only to neglect the movie and end up making out, like he did with other girls.
When Steve would bring his latest lover around, desperately, you did your damnedest to bury your jealousy and and fill its grave with merriment for him, because if anyone deserved to be happy, it was Steve. But the girls at school only wanted to be with Steve because of his status and all the flashy things he could buy them.
The flashy things were dull to you, though.
You wanted to be with Steve because you wanted to hold his hand and press soft kisses to his cheek. To hug him a little tighter and little longer than a best friend normally would. To run your fingers through his fluffy hair whenever he would grow stressed because you knew it calmed him down. To make him breakfast in bed when he was sick and even when he wasn't. To love him your fullest potential.
But you had to settle for this. Calves tucked under your thighs with a blanket draped over your legs as you stared off into space, longing for someone you thought you couldn't have, not knowing he was stealing glances of you wondering what was running through your pretty little head.
Resting your arm against the back of the sofa, holding your head up, your lips were downturned in a pout, eyebrows pulled together as you studied the throw pillow a few inches away from you. A little pillow can't be that interesting, something has to be bothering you, he thought. He was unapologetically curious to know if pressing his lips against your own would make that frown melt into that sweet smirk you usually had.
Steve hated when you were unhappy. It made his mind race. Did someone say something to you? Did someone do something to you? Did you eat today? How was your shift? Why did you lie when you said your day "wasn't too shabby"? Obviously it was shabby. Look at your face. That tired and troubled, cute little face. What can he do to fix it? You were his sunshine, you deserved to be happy, always.
Giving the pot a final stir and turning the flame off, Steve carelessly tossed the grease-stained hand towel flopped over his shoulder, down by the sink, strolling over to where he'd earlier set down the two bottles of wine. White Zinfandel. Neither you or Steve were wine connoisseurs, but when you called Nancy panicking about how extensive the selection at the liquor store was, she swore by it.
Balancing two glasses and a single bottle of the rose-tinted alcohol, Steve took an extra glance at your face, deciding to scoop up the second bottle into his arms. By the looks of it, it was gonna be one of those nights.
You tried to hide your smile as you noticed he was coming over, a slight grin on his face as he set the glasses down. You and him both knew he was only coming to cause trouble. He set the delicate haul down on to the thrifted wooden coffee table in front of you, slipping you one of those comforting 'Steve smiles' he usually did.
Like the forgotten towel, he threw himself down on the couch next to you, warm hand having a much softer landing on the plush of your thigh; a familiar and welcomed touch. Habitually, you curled up closer to him, no longer able to hide your smile.
"Why so glum, chum?" He tilted his chin down, slightly poking his bottom lip out, as he looked at you through batting eyelashes.
Laughing through your nose and subsequently parading a grin that displayed nothing but teeth and hollow happiness, you remarked, "What do you mean? Don't you see me smiling?"
You were fooling absolutely no one. Steve knew you were sad. And, goddamn it, he was gonna get it out of you.
"You know exactly what I mean, you weren't smiling just a few seconds ago until I came over. You're welcome, by the way, I'm flattered that I have such an effect on you," he smirked, placing a hand on his chest in gratitude.
"Okay, now I'm glum again," you roll your eyes at his not-so discreet cockiness. You hid your face in your hands, resting your forehead on Steve's shoulder. It was hard with muscle, but soft with tenderness and safety. "I was smiling at the wine, for your information."
The palm of your hand that pressed against your face muffled your words, but Steve could still understand what you said, it was evident in the way your tone was laced with satire.
"Ah, yes, that makes way more sense" Steve replied, monotone. His thumb began coasting along your skin as he urged you, "Alright, jokes aside. How are you really feeling?"
Hoisting your head up, you almost answered before he continued, "And don't give me that 'not too shabby' crap 'cause that frown you had going on earlier already snitched on ya."
When the hell did he get so observant? Steve was no idiot, but sometimes things needed to be spelled out for him. But come to think of it, you never had to spell things out for Steve whenever it came to you. He just always had a way of knowing.
"I don't know, Steve. Honestly. Some days are just a bit tougher than others. Today was one of those days," you murmured, avoiding the attentive gaze he was burning into your shifty eyes.
He slowly nodded as he processed your words, head falling on top of yours as you again found comfort on his shoulder. His eyes fluttered shut as you began mimicking the affection he was giving you on your thigh, rubbing his arm through the creamy cotton material of his crewneck. You hadn't seen it before. This one was new. So were the jeans he'd paired with it.
"Why're you dressed so nice, Harrington?"
He laughed more to himself than to you. "Well, the food can't be the only thing that looks good, you know? Wanted to look nice too. It's our first dinner together, after all," he mumbled the last bit.
Steve felt the skin around your eyes tighten against his shoulder as your eyebrows scrunched together. "We've had dinner together before, though."
"This one's different," he replied, almost instantly. You'd hoped Steve's eyes were still closed so that he wouldn't see the bashfulness you were weathering, plucking the corners of your lips into a soft smile.
A silence fell between the two of you. Not unusual. Not awkward. Never unusual or awkward. There was a mutual cherishment of moments like these. Shamelessly invading each other's personal space on the couch as if it was made to only fit one person, music playing lowly the distance, but preferring to listen to the sound of the other's breathing.
"How can I make you feel better, sunshine?" Steve questioned, voice still hushed. The volume of your voice wasn't much louder as you responded, thoughtlessly, "You don't have to ask me that. You make me feel better without even trying."
"Oh yeah?" He craned his neck so that his head was impossibly closer to yours, awaiting your confirmation. Steve knew that you enjoyed his company, as he did yours, but he was only joking earlier when he gushed about having such an effect on you. It was now his turn to hide his blush, when you hum, nodding your head fervently.
These were the warm moments that confused you so much more than any subject in school ever did. And unbeknownst to you, it messed with Steve's head too. He'd never been this close with anyone before. Especially not with any of his "girlfriends" in the past. Sure, they'd cuddle and talk about their feelings. But it never felt the way it does with you. Steve was in love with you. It was hopeless.
And he had to make it known. Soon. If not, he swore he'd explode.
"Ready to eat?"
"Mhm," you buzzed, untangling yourself from the envelop of Steve. As he pressed his knuckles into the sofa, willing himself up, you reached for the bottle of wine and a glass, but your hand only made it so far until it felt the sting of a petty swipe from the boy next to you. "Ah ah, missy, dinner first. Lord knows how many hours its been since you last ate."
You snorted, "Relax, it hasn't been that long."
"Oh yeah? When was the last time?" He looked at you with raised eyebrows and an expression that said he already knew your answer was going to be ridiculous. And if there was anything you learned tonight, it was that Steve was highly skilled at knowing when you were lying, so instead, you left him with a goofy smile and giggle that told him he was absolutely right in his assumption.
"Yeah, that's what I thought," the spot where he sat went cold as he left to the kitchen, fixing two plates for the both of you. You moved the drinks and glasses over to the dining table, using a nearby lighter to ignite the accompanying lavender and vanilla scented candles. Tina Turner's vinyl was replaced with Tears for Fears' album Songs from The Big Chair instead, as Steve used his elbow to dim the kitchen lights, hands full with heavy plates of pasta.
"Oh my gosh, this looks so good! Good job, Stevie," you cheered, as he set your plate down in front of you, pouring you a much needed glass of wine. Your hands shook with hunger or excitement, or both, as you picked up your fork, ready to dig in. "Yeah, don't get too psyched yet. Let's hope it tastes as good as it looks."
"I'm sure it does."
His knee rests against yours as he sits adjacent to you, gathering food on his fork, though his eyes are peering at you, awaiting your verdict. The mouthwatering smell of garlic, butter, cheese and other heaven-sent elements overwhelm your nose and you feel like you can't eat it soon enough. You pause for a beat and so does his heart, hand over your messy mouth as you chew. Steve's hand twitches as he contemplates wiping the sauce from the corners of your lips and licking his finger clean.
"Steve," you begin, eyes flickering shut. "I'm gonna need you to cook for me every night. This is so fucking good." The tension in his face eases at your palpable delight, mission well accomplished. He was proud of himself. Very proud. Almost as much as you were of him.
You throw your head back, the purest form of satisfaction consuming you. "I'm glad you like it, I've been trying to nail it for weeks," Steve laughs, finally taking a bite for himself.
"Well, you've succeeded," you beam, washing it down with a sip of wine. Everybody Wants to Rule the World begins playing and you smile at Steve, knowing it was his favorite song at the moment. You nod your head along as Steve hums. A truly peaceful pocket in time.
Through the large windows opening the living room to the rest of Hawkins, you had the perfect view of the bright lights and mountainous buildings from the neighboring city. It was like the sky had flipped on its axis and the stars weren't in the sky anymore, they were among the trees and high rise properties.
"Steve, look how pretty," you point towards the window as his gaze shifts from you to raindrop-riddled glass. "I love being able to see the city so close. Sucks that we can't see the stars, though. I've always wanted to go stargazing."
"Yeah, I remember you mentioning that a while ago. We gotta go one of these days," he replied, shoving a forkful of alfredo into his mouth.
"Oh, did you wanna go too?"
He shrugs his shoulders, chewing before speaking, "Eh, I'm not really a big stars guy. Besides, if I wanna see a pretty little light, all I gotta do is look at you," he says inattentively, going right back to eating as if he hadn't just said the sweetest thing anyone's ever said to you.
"Shut up, Harrington," you roll your eyes, letting out a half-hearted laugh as you take your last bite. How could he flirt with you so easily? So carelessly? Couldn't he see that you loved him and that whenever he says things like that it does something to you? Clueless boy.
"I'm serious. Why do you think I always call you sunshine?" He replies, not a hint of irony in his face.
"Steve," you warn, sitting back in your chair. You didn't know where this conversation was going, and you'd be damned if you got your hopes up for what you always got whenever you did: absolutely nothing.
"It's why I love when you wear yellow. Reminds me of the first time I ever saw you," he pressed. He said it like it was the most obvious thing in the world. Clueless girl.
"Steve," your voice wavered. "What? Why do you keep saying my name like that?" He laughed, dryly.
He grew worried that he was saying too much. Saying things that a person shouldn't say to their best friend. He took a sip of his wine. Then another. Then another. He was considering just downing the whole glass. Maybe he was saying too much.
Screw that, he was in love with you.
"What're you saying to me right now?" You charged, voice a little harsher than what you'd intended, but you demanded an answer. A straightforward one. "I'm saying that I'm done hiding it."
"Hiding what?"
"That I love you."
The revelation yanks your parted lips shut, unsure of what to say next. You had dreamed for what felt like a lifetime for Steve to say those words to you and at last, it was no longer a dream, but instead reality. The rapid pace of your heartbeat could be felt in your chest and ears, and the butterflies in your stomach were more wild and untamed than ever before.
Steve's eyes didn't leave yours, though the stillness from you was killing him. The silence between you two that was once never awkward or unusual, was now painful and nearly unbearable.
Your dilated pupils scanned over his face, relentlessly. The jokey, teasing grin that he often sported when he was messing with you was unaccounted for. Holy shit. The gate to your thoughts opened once more. "You're serious," you whispered.
"How could I not be?" Steve watched you with adoring eyes, the warm light of the candle giving the melted chocolatey pond the sweetest infusion of honey.
"Kiss me."
Forks and butter knives fall to the ground with several, loud unpleasant clanks as Steve leans over the square dining table, hungrily pressing his lips against yours. His lips are garlicky and a little chapped, as yours probably are as well, yet the kiss is nothing short of perfect.
His mouth does a passionate dance against yours as you follow his lead, embracing the plush little pillows with your own. It was both everything you've imagined it'd be and nothing like you'd thought at the same time. You already knew Steve was an amazing kisser. Anyone who went to Hawkins High knew it. But experiencing it for yourself was completely different and new. It was euphoric.
The two of you have to reluctantly pull yourselves off of each other to catch your breaths. This moment was a long time coming.
Steve's hands are still holding onto to either side of your face, unwilling to let you go just yet. Truly savoring every second of the present. His breath fans across your cupid's bow, as he smiles against your lips. "You drive me crazy, you know that?"
Giggling, you wrap your palms and fingers around his wrists, rubbing your nose on his. "Sorry," you shrug, feeling his thumbs caress your warm cheeks.
"Don't be," he shakes his head, engulfing your soft lips into another kiss.

before i get my thoughts down about haikaveh's progression in cyno's story quest, here is a list of things of note about the quest in general!
the boys (and collei...??) having sentimental group dinners where the traveller and paimon are mentioned fondly
cyrus canonical smoker
urraca reverse hag reveal?
kaveh buying wine and coffee beans for him and alhaitham to share, as in them trying coffee beans together isn't solely for kaveh's bday
FAMILY CAMPING TRIP??
tighnari giving cyno A Look and cyno saying he would rather not get told off okay domesticity...
tighnari + cyno canonical tent sharing, i know what you are
alhaitham and kaveh being the 'sleepwalking fungi', okay devolving into a fungus <333
kaveh and alhaitham bullying the traveller's two star blade
a flashback cutscene for no other reason to establish haikaveh's domesticity
kaveh perching on the table to gossip with alhaitham
alhaitham's fond smiles
alhaitham putting his book down to gossip with kaveh
alhaitham looking up to watch kaveh draw the emblem,,, and the cutscene making it a point to show us this
kaveh sitting on the table AGAIN to talk with alhaitham, but 0 feet apart
kaveh's fond smiles???
kaveh's admiration of a symbol prompting alhaitham to identify architectural signets...
kaveh reading alhaitham's mind and agreeing to help him search even though alhaitham didn't ask him to...
alhaitham complaining about the lack of coffee, and kaveh wishing they had brought some from home...
kaveh asking alhaitham to teach him something, alhaitham complying AND teasing kaveh at the same time
ALHAITHAM MENTIONING WANTING COFFEE AND THINKING ABOUT IT, KAVEH THEN THINKING ABOUT GETTING MEHRAK TO BRING COFFEE TO THEM
alhaitham and kaveh finishing each other's sentences
tighnari and cyno commenting how imperative it is that alhaitham and kaveh worked together to uncover the temple of silence's involvement
tighnari and cyno completing each other's sentences
tighnari and cyno not having to properly communicate to know exactly what the other is thinking, causing cyno to switch tactics
tighnari providing cyno clarity during an emotional shakedown
another comment from cyno + tighnari about how essential it is that kaveh and alhaitham are working together as their advice gives them the upper hand
sethos??? identity crisis teen angst gone wrong :((
cyno establishing that he is his own person outside of the power so highly coveted, which tighnari affirms, happy that cyno has awareness of this???
the temple of silence being able to be accessed by people who cyno and nahida deem worthy?
tighnari a descendant of the people that hermanubis was selected from to be a familiar to deshret..?? linking him not only directly to the temple of silence but also cyno,, and cyno saying that he likes this story??
collei cyno tighnari family, they use codes, it was originally cyno and tighnari's but now its extended to collei, it's their love language im-
cyno questioning alhaitham and kaveh studying together, highlighting that this is not a common occurrence and is NOTEWORTHY (also, the delivery?? im gonna get you)
kaveh stressing about reorganising the books and alhaitham reassuring him, so gently, that there's 'no rush'
cyno and tighnari saying AGAIN how imperative it is that kaveh and alhaitham worked together for a swift and beneficial outcome
kaveh expressing an interest in the temple of silence, with cyno saying that the akademiya and the temple of silence will maintain good relations because the temple of silence is IMPORTANT?? (future sumeru events...)
kaveh canonically having caffeine overload jitters whilst alhaitham has the tolerance of a tank
After the two leave the house of daena there are two pairs of two coffee cups and coffee brewers on the table?? They are bringing the domesticity EVERYWHERE
alhaitham and kaveh leaving the tavern together, they are inseparable this quest we get it
KAVEH REFERRING TO THE HOUSE AS 'HOME'. DIRECTLY TO ALHAITHAM. HELLO??
alhaitham then agreeing with kaveh about going to the house of daena before going 'home', with a 'my thoughts exactly', guys,,, they are so in sync here im eating mortar
cyno taking the traveller and paimon to his best friend tree??? also where he and tighnari spent a lot of time together
cyno establishing his self worth respective of his power!!
sethos potentially a part of the family... my heart is in my mouth <333
tighnari understanding cyno without words - "CYNO: ...It's Professor Cyrus. You guys carry on without me. I'll be right back." "Tighnari : Okay."
soft cyno and cyrus interaction, there are things that cannot be said, but the emotion is so palpable
overall i had a really great experience with this quest!! it was so great to see everyone in sumeru again and to develop the lore + character relationships. this really expanded upon cyno as a character, a person, rather than the figure of authority/power he is seen as, and established how important his family ties are to him
as for haikaveh, i have THOUGHTS which i will expand upon at another time... but overall, the progression for them is very much present here and very promising! <3
Update: my analysis of haikaveh's progression is here!

Hiii!!! Can I ask for a fluffy and a little bit suggestive imagine with az where his mate neglects his kisses for a whole day or however long you want and just make him grovel for a bit ???
crave.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: azriel x reader.
song inspiration: kisses by will joseph cook.
author’s note: baby boy azriel is back. please have some soft fluff to make up for the shadowsinger’s absence 💋
Tumblr media
The first time it happened, Azriel chalked it up to coincidence.
You were so frazzled that morning, frantically running around shoving your salves and potions into your bag while simultaneously pulling your healer robes on that you’d rushed past your mate in a dark blur. The door creaked open as you muttered something about an early delivery of triplets.
“Forgetting something, love?”
Realization flooded your features as you whirled around to face your mate. “Of course!”
Azriel grinned as you marched back into the kitchen. He tilted his head up, fully prepared for his goodbye kiss until you reached over and grabbed his coffee mug instead. The shadowsinger watched in confusion as you downed the entire thing within seconds.
“Thanks, babe!”
As swift as the wind, you were out the door once more, leaving your very confused mate staring at his now empty drink.
The second time it happened, Azriel started to fret.
After a brief meeting with Rhys, he headed into the city to drop by your clinic. With the delivery of triplets, Azriel figured that you’d probably had a rough morning. A problem easily fixed with your favorite comfort food: chocolate chip cookies.
You smiled when the bell chimed to announce your mate’s arrival. The grin on your face grew even wider when you caught a whiff of the sweet, sugary aroma of your favorite cookies from the bakery down the street.
The shadowsinger smiled, setting the brown paper bag down on the counter. “How did the delivery go, my love?”
“I’m glad to report that all three babies are happy and healthy,” you replied, digging through the bag and getting your greedy hands on the soft, gooey cookie. “As happy as I am about the successful delivery, I’m absolutely drained. Not to mention starving. Thank you for bringing the cookies, Az.”
“Anything for my mate.”
You beamed, splitting the chocolate chip cookie in half. “Wanna share?”
Azriel nodded, chuckling as you fed him a chunk. He did the same, staring at you with a lovestruck expression as he wiped the crumbs off of your face. The shadowsinger brushed your bottom lip, leaning in to give you a proper kiss.
The two of you broke apart as a loud clang sounded from the back of the clinic. Madja hustled to the front, barely acknowledging Azriel with a nod before tugging at your elbow.
“They’re hanging upside down and crying from the ceiling,” the older healer said. “This is the last time I deliver a set of batlings. Triplets, nonetheless. Mother save us all.”
“Sorry, Az. Duty calls. I’ll see you at home, my love.”
You smiled apologetically, inching closer towards the shadowsinger before an ear splitting wail nearly punctured your ear drums. Even Azriel’s shadows shied behind his shoulders.
“Wish us luck.”
With that, you were gone. Leaving Azriel pouting as he departed the clinic as kissless as this morning.
The shadowsinger brooded as he counted down the hours until you were home. Lack of affection was seriously impairing his ability to work. It had been a few hours since he’d sat down in his office to sort through reports and yet he couldn’t remember a damned thing that he’d read.
Azriel perked up when his shadows alerted him of movement in the front yard. He immediately raced down the stairs, past the kitchen and living room, feeling as giddy as a school girl as he opened the door. Instead of finding his mate, Azriel found his friends standing at his doorstep. He sighed, recalling that tonight was game night.
Cassian chuckled. “Don’t you look ecstatic to see us, brother.”
Nesta peered behind her husband, determination woven into her sharp features as she lugged a chess set under one arm. “Where’s Y/N? Your mate owes me a rematch.”
Azriel sighed. “She’s not home yet. Her and Madja delivered triplets and they’ve had their hands full all day.”
Rhys raised a brow, resting an arm around Feyre’s shoulder. “So that’s why you’ve been wearing that kicked puppy look all day. What’s the matter, Az? Missing your mate?”
Feyre elbowed Rhys. “Don’t mind him. I think it’s sweet that you and Y/N never really left the honeymoon phase.”
"I doubt their neighbors would call their honeymoon phase sweet," Mor added with a chuckle. "Our lovely friends are heathens, but also sickeningly adorable."
“You’re only saying that because you haven’t walked in on them breeding like bunnies in the bathroom at Rita’s,” Amren said, wrinkling her nose in disgust.
“Speak for yourself, Tiny Ancient One. You and Varian aren’t any better.”
Amren merely rolled her eyes at Cassian before marching into the living room. The rest followed suit, making themselves comfortable in Azriel’s home. Normally the shadowsinger loved hosting his friends, but all he really wanted tonight was to be alone with his mate.
Unfortunately for Azriel, it didn't look like his wish would be granted any time soon. The shadowsinger watched helplessly as his brothers ransacked the kitchen for wine. Cassian somehow managed to wrangle a tray full of cheese, meat, and crackers. Rhysand munched on the leftover cookies, frowning when crumbs spilled over the front of his doublet.
Azriel breathed a sigh of relief when his shadows alerted him of your presence. He shouldered past his friends, making a beeline for the door. The tension left his body the second he saw you climbing up the steps. Despite your busy day, you couldn't help but smile when you spotted your mate.
The shadowsinger looked a bit disheveled, his dark hair sweeping over those familiar hazel eyes. He had changed out of his leathers and into a baby blue sweater that you gifted to him last Winter Solstice paired with comfortable looking grey sweats that hung dangerously low, giving you a peek of the hard muscles and happy trail hidden underneath.
Gods, Azriel was beautiful.
"Hi, baby. How was your day?"
"Not as eventful as yours, love." Azriel cringed as the sounds of Casssian and Rhysand's hoots filtered though your home. "Our friends are here."
You chuckled. "You don't seem that excited about it."
"I was hoping to get you all to myself tonight."
"You get that every night, Az."
Azriel pouted. "Yes, but I missed you today."
You stood on your tiptoes, pulling him down by the front of his sweater. "Is that so?"
"Mhm," he hummed, placing a large hand on your hip. "You haven't kissed me all day. You owe me at least a hundred by now."
"A hundred?" you teased, smiling up at him. "Seems a little excessive, Az."
"I think it's only fair. I couldn't focus all day. I blame lack of kisses."
"Is that your professional diagnosis, shadowsinger?" Azriel nodded seriously, making you chuckle. "Well, in that case. C'mere, pretty boy."
Azriel's breath hitched as you brought him down to you, your noses brushing, lips firmly pressed against his cheek. You took his face into your hands and peppered kisses all over his face. Kissing his cheeks, his nose, his jaw, practically covering him in your signature red lipstick. Your mate beamed, relishing in your affection.
"For the grand finale," you teased, brushing your thumb over his bottom lip.
Your heart raced as you pressed your lips against his, giggling as Azriel brought you closer, circling his arms around your waist and lifting you up to his chest. He deepened the kiss, not caring that your friends were inside, not caring that your neighbors were milling about. All he knew what that there was nothing in this world that felt as good as your lips against his.
You smiled into the kiss, pecking his lips over and over again. Azriel grinned, his mood instantly brightening. "Only ninety nine more to go," he declared.
Wrapping your legs around his waist, you kissed the tip of his nose, leaving a bright red mark in your wake. "I'll give you infinite kisses, my love. Until you grow tired of me."
"I could never," Azriel replied, leaning in for a not so innocent kiss. "I crave you too much."
"I crave you too, Azriel. I always crave you." You sighed in satisfaction. "Do you think it would be awfully rude of me to ask our friends to leave?"
"Not at all," Azriel said, squeezing your bum. "Everyone! Out!"
You laughed as your friends filtered through the door. Nesta waved her chess set around, grumbling about your rematch. Cassian and Rhysand wore matching smirks while Feyre winked behind her shoulder. Mor shook her head, claiming a bottle of expensive wine as her payment. Amren took the bottle from the blonde and took a swig, completely unbothered.
You giggled, turning over to your mate. He was covered in red lipstick. As you tried to brush your marks away, Azriel caught your wrist.
"Don't. I like when you leave your mark on me. Shows everyone that I'm yours and yours alone."
"Oh?" You asked in a seductive voice, kissing right underneath his jawline. "Let me leave some more then, pretty boy."
"I won't say no to that, my love."

astro observations 10
Hey -- I miss doing these astro notes, it’s been- years? where have I been? forced into a rat race. I’ve lately been watching a lot of stand up comedies, timeless comedy movies, rush hour, the hangover, you name it, they don’t make shit like this anymore. I’ve also been dealing with saturn transit my 10th house and conjunct my sun fucking up my life. so I got stuff to share.
 ——
⛄︎ Happy capricorn season! I find it ironic that capricorns are hard workers but people don’t work hard in capricorn season, it’s when everybody slows down, enjoys the holidays, reflects and attempts to make new year’s plans.
Aspects that indicate humor
☃︎ I said it before and I will say it again, strong mercury-jupiter aspects are the most common in comedians charts, every existing comedian seems to have them conjunct, oppose or square. e.g. Jim Carrey, Kate McKinnon, Kevin Hart (mercury conj jupiter). Chris Tucker, Amy Schumer (mercury square jupiter). Rowan Atkinson, Steve Carell (mercury opp Jupiter).
☃︎ Moon in scorpio or capricorn, top notch dark humor. Chris Tucker, Pete Davidson, Louis C.K. (capricorn moon). Ricky Gervais, Ryan Reynolds, Matthew Perry (scorpio moon).
☃︎ Moon in gemini or sagittarius, making you laugh at random things, making the small details in life events remarkable and ironic. Sag got that joyful light hearted spirit no matter how sarcastic they get. Bill Burr, John Mulaney (sag moon). Gemini got that chaotic animated twisted humor, can go on endless tangents but you’ll never get bored. Aubrey Plaza, Jim Carrey, and Rowan Atkinson (gemini moon).
☃︎ North node in gemini or sagittarius being a naturally funny storyteller their whole life. I also notice north node in virgo, leo and capricorn in those that pursue public speaking or stand up.
☃︎ Many comedians or just straight up funny people got MC in gemini, virgo, sagittarius, or leo.
☃︎ Mercury in aries, leo, gemini, sagittarius, scorpio, capricorn the type of people that tell a basic story but the tone of their voice, choice of words, and the underlying emotion mixed with their perspective and delivery makes it hilarious.
☃︎ Mercury in a fire sign, can be loud, the underlying anger and passion in their voice tone is what makes them funny. Chris Tucker, Kevin Hart and Dave Chappelle all got a leo mercury. Joe List got an aries mercury.
☃︎ Mercury in an air sign, they keep you engaged, animated expressions, great at impressions and mimicking when they tell stories. Trevor Noah is a good example and Jim Carrey (aquarius mercury).
☃︎ Mercury in earth and water, the way they so calmly tell an intense life event story with a straight face and calm demeanor, almost seeming high, a lot of irony and nonchalance. Pete Davidson (scorpio mercury), Ricky Gervais (cancer mercury) and Kate McKinnon (capricorn mercury).
☃︎ I have mercury conj jupiter in aries and I’m ruled by mercury (gemini rising). I’m super sarcastic and cutthroat when angry, it makes people upset, shocked, amused, wanting to laugh but also butt heads with me. My mind can find irony in literally anything. I also can change my voice and facial expressions easily when I’m mimicking someone.
☃︎ Those with strong mercury-pluto aspects, the type that could actually give you contractions from laughter. They think intensely, experience life intensely, are cutthroat and skeptical, are super intellectual and deep which is enough to make them ironic in the way they communicate. Their communication style comes across as bold, raw and shocking, saying it how it is, not afraid of joking about taboo or embarrassing stuff. It feels like my life is fucked up my mind is fucked up and I don't give a fuck typa attitude. Matthew Perry, Pete Davidson, Louis C.K, Adam Sandler, Ryan Reynolds, Steve Carell (mercury conj pluto).
☃︎ Heavy pluto and saturn placements can make someone insanely funny especially if they’ve got aspects indicating public speaking. The absolute best at self deprecating humor. They aren’t afraid to share their traumatic experiences, because not only they make people laugh but they give hope to those who can relate. They got where they are by accumulating that much knowledge and wisdom and it came through many wounds usually relating to rejection, abandonment and feeling inadequate. They use humor to heal themselves and others.
☃︎ Pete Davidson, Ryan Reynolds and Ricky Gervais got heavy scorpio and pluto conjunctions, examples of plutonian humor. Dave Chappelle and Chris Tucker got heavy saturn aspects, examples of saturnian humor.
☃︎ Now Chris Tucker got all the basic comedian placements. He’s easily one of the best and most successful comedians to ever exist. The type to open his mouth and everyone starts laughing. It’s the attitude not even the context. He was the popular kid too, friends with Michael Jackson, Michael Jordan, Muhammad Ali, Jackie Chan, Prince and literally every iconic celebrity in the US.
☃︎ Chris has a mercury square Jupiter at 0°, leo mercury 28°, capricorn moon, scorpio jupiter, saturn in gemini, jupiter conj neptune (can expand the imagination in storytelling), north node in aquarius (he was a trailblazer in rush hour and many comedians mimic him).
----
☃︎ I noticed so many times that people with saturn in gemini can be socially responsible, meaning that they refuse to cuss in some occasions and refuse to talk shit or go against their morals. Partially due to the lessons they learned on gossip and the consequences of misinformation or twisted narratives. Chris Tucker rejected an offer because he refused to cuss and smoke weed on camera, he also avoids vulgarity and profanity in his stand ups.
☃︎ Those with gemini north node are either so good at communicating clearly, storytelling and entertaining or will learn that in this lifetime. Same goes for gemini risings. One of their missions is to accumulate knowledge from everywhere they go without the need for distant travel and sharing it with others rather than keeping it confined for abstract contemplations (sag south node). They develop a communication style that is so personal to them that allows them to be a messenger, a bridge between people and a powerful speaker.
☃︎ I have a leo north node and the more I grow older the more I realize I'm never meant to act so old. This inner child in me screams to come out after every tough cycle esp when I'm mentally trapped in societal conformity. Those with a leo nn exude childlike innocence and purity, at their best spreading love and joy wherever they go. Though to get there they go through challenging experiences alone to build so much strength and confidence so they can pursue what they love and share love so freely since they are so used to being cold and detached (aqua south node).
☃︎ Those with a cancer north node are naturally so good at business matters like building a company or climbing the success ladder (capricorn south node). They learn quickly that material success alone does not bring them fulfillment. Every time they reach somewhere that feeling of achievement is fleeting and they just want to share those moments with others. They have this urge to connect emotionally to their loved ones and create memories. They might desire having a family of their own, a secure home, and a sense of safety and stability.
I somehow always unintentionally post in december and my posts be considered old next month, so I quit my toxic draining job last week, kinda feels like a life crisis, but I’m feeling so safe and cozy in my bed having my hot mocha eating all the christmas sweets and watching funny shit. so share your fav stand ups, funny movies or documentaries, anything you watch during the holidays. stay warm and cozy 🧣🎅🏼

and they were roommates II Keira Walsh x Reader
Tumblr media
Masterlist I Word count: 1977
A/N: it's based on the result of our survey we did at the beginning of January. We hope you guys enjoy how the oneshot turned out. ☺️
“Ale, hurry up. We don’t have much time until they come back from training.“, Mapi yelled across the apartment. Alexia rolled her eyes while she set the table in the kitchen; “That’s easier said than done with your and my knee.“ “Frido might come and help us too. Did you get the roses?“, the defender continued while rushing around her team mate.
With a glance to the clock, she replied; “The delivery driver will be here in ten minutes.“ “Perfect.“, Mapi smiled. Right at the same time, Fridolina joined her teammates in the apartment you and Keira shared; “Hi, girls.“ “Did you get the candles?“, Mapi greeted her impatiently.
Nodding, Fridolina placed a tote bag filled with candles in different shapes and colors on the table; “I didn’t know which you wanted so I brought a bunch of different ones.“ “I like them all.“, Mapi commented delighted as she carefully took the candles out and placed them on different surfaces.
Alexia disappeared for a moment, just to return with a large bouquet of red roses; “The delivery driver is here with the roses.“ Fridolina handed her glass vase while Mapi excitedly rubbed her hands together; “So now we can decorate.“
She turned towards the little white dog that Lucy brought over earlier and petted her between her ears; “Narla, we’ll need you soon too.“ “Sweet of Lucy to have Narla help.“, Fridolina smiled. While Alexia placed some of the roses on the table, she nodded; “Agreed, Keira and Lucy handled their separation pretty great in general.“ “I agree.“, she Swedish teammate replied.
“Ale, didn’t you want to prepare the dinner?“, Mapi changed the subject once again. The injured Barcelona captain shrugged; “I didn’t trust us to do that so I ordered that too.“ “Okay, Lucy just texted that they’ll be coming soon.“, Mapi remarked which caused Alexias eyebrows to knot together as she checked her phone again; “Tell her to distract them a bit longer.“ “Alright.“, Mapi agreed, typing quickly on her phone before returning to decorate the apartment.
At the same time, FC Barcelonas evening training had just ended. You took a few sips of water and tried to suppress a yawn. Lucy and Ona joined in the dressing room; “So, where do we do it? At yours or Onas and my place?“
After seeing your confused face, Lucy followed up with; “Remember, we four have to host the next team event.“ “Yours.“, Keira answered quickly while she pulled a sweater over her head. You agreed; “Yes, easy. Your balcony is bigger.“ “Why not at your place?“, Lucy asked, with amusement in her voice.
Keira gave Lucy an annoyed look; “No, this way we can leave at anytime.“ Lucy snorted; “That’s the most Keira answer I have ever heard.“ “Hey!“, Keiras expression changed from annoyance to mock offence.
With a sigh the defender made her an offer: “Fine, you can think about it again. We can decide on that next training.” “See you two soon. Wait. When do you want to pick up Narla tomorrow?”, the defensive midfielder asked the older player.
Casually Lucy waved it off:” I’ll text you tomorrow morning. Thanks for dogsitting again.” “You’re welcome, we love to have Narla with us.”, you reassured her. In a genuine tone she replied: “Appreciate it.”  “But now we really got to go, Narla is surely hungry. Bye girls.”, impatiently Keira pulled you with her.
A bright smirk was on the older woman’s face: “Bye, have fun.”  “Lucy, stop, they’ll get suspicious if you say it like that.”, Ona scolded her girlfriend. “Just go, Ona.” “Fine, but you almost spoiled it.”, the younger Spanish player added, hitting her arm playfully.
You were excited to greet a waiting Narla when you entered the appartement you shared with your friend:” Narla, hi! Wait, where did you get that rose?” Surprised you pulled the flower carefully out of the dog’s mouth. Confused you took a closer look to your surroundings:” Wait. What’s all of this? The candles? What’s going on here?”
Equally astonished Keira observed:” We even have food on our table.” “Is this something like a reverse break-in?”, you asked your roommate. An amused smile appeared on the midfielders’ lips: “If the intruders are called Ale, Frido and Mapi, yes.” “You think it was them?”, you wanted to know from her.
Slowly Keira nodded: “They left a card.” Quickly you were reading what they wrote on it, before you looked up to your friend:” They did.. wait, this is supposed to be a date?” “Yes, they wrote it’s supposed to be a candlelight dinner.”, the midfielder blushed. Irritated, your fingers went through your hair:“Okay?” “Oh my god.”, she exclaimed.
Your heartbeat automatically quickened by her reaction:“What?” “Read the card until the end.”, Keira answered, hiding her red face in Narlas fur.  Following her request, you cursed under your breath: “What the hell were they thinking. I just think it’s ridiculous and dangerous. I mean leaving Narla alone in here with the lit-up candles.”
“It’s but Narla is a smart dog and I guess they had good intentions.”, your teammate tried to sooth you. After a deep sigh you gave in: “Let’s eat before the food gets cold and it was all useless.” As you both were taking your seats Keira discovered the bottle which was standing on the table only waiting for the moment to be opened:” Sure, do you want some wine to it?” “Sure, why not? Let’s make it a real candlelight dinner.”, you told her.
Skilfully the midfielder filled the two wine glasses before speaking a toast:” Cheers to the best roommate I ever had!”
You took your glass and tilted it towards Keiras; “I can only give that compliment back.“ “Thank you.“ A slight blush spread across Keiras cheeks. You smiled at her; “I mean it.“ “I do too.“, your roommate and current date replied.
After a short break, she gave you a curious look; “You don’t believe me, huh?“ “No.“, you replied, hiding your smile in your wine glass. “Because of Lucy?“, she asked. Your face immediately turned serious again; “Oh, no. I can tell you’re over it.“ “Good, because that’s the truth.“, she nodded, searching your eyes over the bouquet of flowers on the table. “I know…“, you answered gently.
Keira cleared her throat; “Besides…“ “Yes?“, you prompted her to go on. “There is someone in the team.“, Keira continued, her voice wavered with nervousness. Surprised, you repeated; “There is?“ “Who makes my heart flutter.“
Excitement spread to your body as Keira announced those news; “You’re in love? Tell me who it is!“ “You don’t know who?“ The midfielders expression was somewhere between amusement and bewilderment. You feigned disappointment; “Of course not. You haven’t even told me that you have a crush!“ “Might be because I spend most of my time with my crush.“, Keira explained, the blush on her cheeks deepening.
You frowned, taking a second to think about it; “You mostly spend time with Lucy or me. Oh, is it Aitana?“ Quickly, Keira shook her head; “What? No, we’re just friends.“ “But you’re close with her, so I thought it could only be her.“, you shrugged. “To be fair, your guess was not too bad.“, Keira laughed lightly. You shook your head, clueless; “I don’t know what to do with that hint now.“
“It’s you.“, Keira said plainly. You were taken aback by this reveal; “Me?“ “Yes.“ Your thoughts were spinning, your brain started connecting the dots. Embarrassed, you hit your hand against your head; “Oh of course. That’s why we’re having a date here.“ “But I swear I didn’t know anything about it. Aitana didn’t tell me.“, Keira interjected hastily.
As soon, as your caught up with your thoughts, you couldn’t suppress a smile; “They know us well. Genius to do it here, so none of us can leave.“ “Yes, they know that as homebodies, we feel most comfortable at home.“, the midfielder agreed. “I think it’s a perfect date. If you’d asked me out for this, I would have definitely said yes.“, you grinned.
Keira took her sip of her wine before innocently asking; “Sooo, you’d date me?“ “Yes.“, you nodded, not missing a beat. Your roommate mirrored your smile; “I’d date you too.“ “Lucky for us because we already are on a date.“, you joked, raising your glass. Keira clinked hers to yours; “Right.“ But instead of taking a sip, she stood up from the table; “Wait, I’ll put on a record to make it more romantic.“ “Go ahead.“, you laughed while watching her put a new vinyl on your shared record player.
Cheerfully Keira asked:” More wine?” “Please. Mapi texted that they left dessert for us in the fridge.”, you told her grinning. The midfielder squealed delighted as she brought the dessert to the table: “Oh my god, I love them.” “Is that a heart shaped cake? That’s a bit cliché, isn’t it?”, you commented.
Amused Keira added: “They really wanted to make sure we understood the message, huh?” “As if the roses weren’t enough.”, you smiled at her. Giggling your roommate remarked: “The girls are just so romantic.”
“Can I cut you a piece of cake?”, you offered her. Happily, the midfielder nodded: “Yes, thank you.” “Here you go.”, you said while placing the heart-shaped dessert on your friend’s plate. Afterwards you got yourself a slice of the cake and Keira took her first bite of it, admitting:” The cake might be cheesy but really good.”
The unusual awkwardness between you two seemed to have melted away, because in the next moment her lips were on yours. The kiss being as sweet as the treat. When you stepped away you couldn’t help but to reply:” At least it’s not cheesecake.” “True but that’s cheesy enough.”, the fellow football player winked at you.
A smirk was all over your face as you said to her:” No one appreciates my puns like you do, Keira.” “I know.”, the midfielder shrugged.  Beaming, you couldn’t help but to speak your thoughts immediately: “Maybe we should have been forced to date a whole lot earlier.” “No regrets tonight let’s enjoy that moment.”, Keira reminded you. “You’re right.” Thoughtfully your teammate took a sip of the wine:  “Yes, we learned a few things in our 26 years on earth.” “We did.”, you agreed.
Cheekily, she looked directly at you:” Like life is too short to not date your roommate.” “Life’s too short to first date and hen move together. We did it the other way around.”, you observed.  Triumphantly Keira hummed: “We did.” “Keira? Let’s not tell them that their set-up date worked yet.”, you asked her to keep this between you two for now.  “So, we keep them a bit in the unknown? I like that.”, the midfielder replied. The smile stayed on your lips: “I knew you would.”
On your next team event which indeed took place at Lucys and Onas home you were all watching a movie together.  As you reached the middle part of the film Keira got up announcing:” We’ll get more popcorn for all of us.” “Okay.”, Aitana answered smiling. “We will?”, you whispered to hear. Confidently the English player took your hand and led you to the kitchen: “Yes, come on.”
You used that private moment for a few more kisses you were holding back in front of your teammates, but they didn’t escape the gaze from Lucy. The older defender squealed:” Girls, it worked!” “Of course, it worked. We planned it all  out for them.”, Alexia waved it off.  Open mouthed Aitana looked up to the two women:  “Wait, you did what?!”  “Nothing.”, Mapi replied innocently.
But that became the evening everyone in your team knew you were more than just roommates. Just as in the history books when women lived together anything was possible like finding love in the four walls you called home.

hello, how do you think the yandere boys from hotd (separated) would react, let's say they already have a few children with their wife reader and during her last pregnancy reader almost died during childbirth? (reader is his first wife...maybe?) thanks you are just amazing 😜
Also another ask: How do you think romantic yanderes (wether they are in a relationship with darling or not) would react to their darling having a difficult labor? Like it was even suggested that they do what they did to Aemma?
Note: I combined the two requests as they’re similar also the reader lives. Please, this is a sensitive topic. Don’t read if easily triggered.
- As tradition, Otto is in the halls, waiting for the birth of your child. He’s concerned when the maesters seek him to inform him of the difficulties of your labor. Otto declines the suggestion and demands for the maester to leave it to the god; he’ll not make the same mistake as his king. He gives himself a moment to think.
Otto is uncertain and concerned about the outcome for the first time in a long time. But once he hears the child’s cry and with the news of you alive but exhausted; he sighs in relief. Since you've already given him children and he has heirs, you’re forced to drink moon tea whenever the two of you consummate. He’ll not risk your life for something he already has.
- Since you announced your pregnancy, Corlys has made sure you always have the best maesters with you and that your delivery will go without a hitch—after all, this isn't your first child. Your screams of pain could be heard as he waited outside the chambers, but they were concerning. Contrary to custom, Corlys enters the room and demands to know what is happening. After learning about your predicament, he rushes to your side and tries to reassure you.
When the masters suggest cutting you open; Corlys is furious and questions if they’ve gone mad to suggest such a thing. He will stay by your side the entire time, holding you close. When the baby is successfully delivered, he will kiss your forehead with a big smile on his face, relieved that everything went well.
- Regardless of tradition, Harwin has always been in the room with all the children you have given birth to. He immediately realizes that something is wrong. His suspicions are confirmed when he notices the midwives' and maester's worried expressions. Harwin is holding your hand the entire time as you cry in agony.
When the maester suggests cutting you open, Harwin grabs him roughly by the clothing. He refuses to accept that this is the only way. And the maester, to avoid Harwin's wrath, chooses to remain silent after. It is a miracle when the birth is successful; causing Harwin to smile in relief as tears stream down his cheeks.
- Aegon didn't anticipate any issues with the birth; all of your previous ones were successful, so this one ought to be as well. When he learns that you are experiencing problems, he is shocked. His mother was present, and it is she who must warn him of what may happen because she is aware of how Aegon might respond to the maester if he were to deliver the message.
As to be expected, Aegon is infuriated by the suggestion and demands the master that they should put your life before the child's. He’s not willing to lose you; he’s not going to lose you. He finally calms down when hearing the good news; you and the child have survived the process. Even if he doesn't have an heir, Aegon makes it clear that this is the last child.
- Every previous birth you’ve had, Daemon was present in the room. And due to them fearing for their lives; the maester and midwives would remain silent. He could easily see that something was wrong, more so when you start calling for him. The maester hesitates and speaks in a trembling manner when he suggests cutting you open. Daemon replies that Caraxes would love to have him for dinner, if this birth costs your life.
If it ever comes down to it, he'll choose you over the child. Daemon tries his best comforting you; pleading with you to be strong. Fortunately, a miraculous event occurs; you and the child live. Daemon gives you a genuine smile while saying you are indeed his strong, brave girl.
- While his mother and the others caution him about how inappropriate it would be for him to be in the room with you, Aemond insists, and he often notices that the maester and midwives take more care when he is watching them. When Aemond must witness you in excruciating pain, there is panic. The maester suggests they cut your stomach open, but Aemond says that instead he should cut the said measter’s stomach open for daring to come forth with such a suggestion.
He’s even more bothered when told to leave it to the gods. It makes him uneasy to be left powerless in a situation such as this. But when the child was successfully removed, crying and kicking their legs, he was left feeling relieved. Others in the room are shocked to see the prince in such a vulnerable state as he rests his head on yours. But they are quick to leave the two of you alone to avoid Aemond’s wrath.

Aventurine x reader ~ cat cakes [caked up cat]
Tumblr media
Description: Ruan Mei has been working on a special creation, one that can help her create a sentient life through... indirect means. She gifts one of these products to Aventurine, a wealthy buyer who purchased 3 of her normal cat cakes. Aka I've made yet another plot to insert cat-girl sex
WC: ~2k
Warnings: NSFW, mostly smut, honestly long overdue, tempted to buy the pajamas in that art just so I can pretend Aventurine is gonna spawn in my room at some point then I can give him the clothes to wear, unedited
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Head swirling after his encounter with Sparkle, Aventurine was not in the mood to answer the knock at his door
Nevertheless, he lazily swings open the door, masking his annoyance with a forged smile
It was a young delivery guy, who was so intimidated talking to Aventurine of the ten Stonehearts that he immediately set down the boxes and ran off after muttering a rushed introduction
Ruan Mei, the seller he bought from, had left him a note on one of the boxes
Dear Aventurine,
I am pleased that you have taken an interest in my experiments. For your multiple purchases, I have included an extra product in one of the boxes. This one is quite “special” as it is able to maintain a human form for certain activities. It is my gift to you, but you are also doing a service for me by testing out my newest experiment.
With gratitude,
Ruan Mei
Shutting his door, he muses over the contents of the letter
He first unboxes the regular cat cakes, smiling at the irony in front of him
“Black cats, huh? Are you little ones going to balance out my great fortune?”
He then opens the special package…
To find nothing but you, another black cat nestled within a pastry case, blinking your eyes cutely at him
“Don’t see what’s so different about this special product”
He gently lifts you out of the box, and you discover that his slim pretty fingers are calloused despite their manicured appearance
“Can you speak?”
You sink your fluffy body into his hands, enjoying the feeling of dangling from a pretty boy’s arms.
“...Meooow.”
He shook his head, blond hair falling into his pretty eyes as he chuckled at his own question. “Of course you can’t, what a silly question.”
He fondly pets your head and scratches behind your ears, causing you to trill out musical purrs at the sensation
Aventurine collapses on his luxurious bed and scoops you onto his chest
You could hear a soft vibration in his chest as he spoke, making your small body buzz from the movement
“Sometimes it seems like the more luck I bring to myself, the worse the situation around me is. Almost as though there’s a limited amount of luck in this world and I’m taking it all for myself”
Curiously, you knead your paws into the silky material of his black pajamas
He simply stares at you with an empty smile on his face, a touch of something vulnerable underneath his practiced expression.
He closes his eyes and presses his forehead to your smaller furry one. Up close, you could see dark circles under his eyes. He was beautiful, despite his face being the picture of fatigue
“To be special…”
He trails off at the end of his sentence and loosens his embrace on your body
Soon the room was entirely silent save for the quiet breaths that escaped his parted lips
You stretch out your limbs and nimbly pull yourself out of your cake shell, stopping to stare at his closed eyelids. Cattish eyes followed the movement of his breaths and a subtle flutter of his lashes revealed something wet sliding down his cheeks
You wanted to call out to him, to just do something to console the sleeping man
Simultaneously, a familiar burning sensation spread within you, one that occurred whenever you were within proximity of a human for long enough
Almost as though it was nature’s alarm, reminding you of the reason for your creation
You nimbly pull yourself out of your cake shell and shift into your human form
Fully naked too (why would there be clothes?)
Aventurine lets out a small grunt from your sudden change in weight but remains asleep
Flipping yourself around, you sit your cute butt on his chest and crawl your upper body under the covers, hands clumsily fumbling around to find your target
You hear your destination before you realize it; as your fingers brush against a bulge, a muffled surprised gasp vibrates from his chest against your bare pussy
The heat within you continues to grow as you squirm and squeeze your thighs around his shoulders to quell it.
Your eyes tear from frustration when you’re unable to figure out the strange human contraption that blocked you from his waiting cock
You rest your head on his muscled thigh and mouth his clothed bulge, wishing that you weren’t so dumb and useless
Low moaning noises rose from the man behind you, which you were taught was a good sign
You give his dick kitten licks and sloppily drool all over his expensive pants as you mimic sucking motions
Subconsciously your hips buck into his chest, rubbing your slick into his heated skin above the unbuttoned part of his shirt
All the while your tears continue to fall from your face, feeling unfulfilled from not completing your purpose
You were so focused on your task that you failed to realize the man behind you had awoken
It wasn’t until you felt a hand roughly pulling your hair back that you squealed in surprise, teary eyes meeting an angry bright pink
“I knew it. Everything about that letter was weird.”
You were resting awkwardly, limbs twisted as you stared up at him with wide, unsuspecting watery eyes. The room was silent as you held your breath out of fear of upsetting him
Too focused on the feeling of betrayal, Aventurine ignores your innocent pleading gaze and pins you to the headboard
“Don’t play dumb with me. What is your actual purpose here?”
You nervously squirm in his hold, legs still wrapped around his waist. He’s glaring at you but you can see the flicker of his eyes from your face to your bare chest, as well as the still hard bulge pressing against your pussy
“I said,” he hisses. “State your purpose.”
Tears begin to fall from your face, afraid that you’ve let him down. He seemed slightly startled at your tears but didn’t remove the dirty look from his face. Why was he looking so angry even though he was displaying all the correct signs of arousal?
You try your best to decipher his sentences; you only know one word that a pretty brunette lady had mentioned multiple times while training you with various men
“Purpose” you echo his words, before shifting your hips and attempting to grind down on his dick. “Purpose…”
You hold his gaze, hoping to communicate with him through action
Despite his anger, Aventurine was a smart man and figured you must be referring to… explicit activities
“I see. So this is what she meant by ‘experiment…’”
His eyes glaze over as you watch him get lost in his thoughts; of what this meant, what to do next
Displeased, you squeeze your bound arms out of his hold and grip his shoulders, whimpering as you press your sensitive pussy on his hardness
Aventurine felt conflicted; on the one hand, he disliked being deceived
On the other hand…
“Oh god,” he groans as your heat catches on the clothed tip of his dick
On the other hand, it had been a long time since he last felt the warmth of a woman, nevertheless one who was seemingly so eager to please him
But he knew this was wrong. This was an artificially made creature after all, not even a real person
Still he felt a twinge of sympathy for you as you probably had no choice in your behavior
And he knew what it was like to be in the unknown
He listens to the good of his conscience, gripping your plush thighs and pulling you onto his right thigh instead, ignoring the protest of his aching cock
Gesturing toward his thigh, he guides you to move your hips
“You can use any other part of me to satisfy yourself. I’ll… find some way to return you to your creator afterward”
He knew you couldn’t understand a word he said and if he were being honest with himself he was simply rambling to fill the space, poorly concealing the fact that his pretty eyes were glued to the movement of your wet pussy on his silk pants
Confused, you let out a soft cry and move to paw at his dick, only for him to firmly grasp your wrist and pull you back
You couldn’t understand why he was refusing to have you, this had never happened before
The soft cloth of his pants and firm muscle underneath provided enough friction to satisfy you temporarily
It wasn’t enough, but if it was all you could have…
You give up trying to reach for his cock and instead hump his thigh needily, mewling each time your clit pressed into the muscle of his thigh
Aventurine swallowed hard and nearly gave in as your pussy grinds a little too close to where he wanted it
He watches you with half-lidded eyes, and you swear that you see his eyes glowing for a moment
You let out several gasps in a row, eyes rolling back as you felt your climax approaching
A part of Aventurine wishes that you wouldn’t finish, that you would need his help and beg so that it was you who initiates instead of him
But you let out a few more gasps, and came undone on his hard thigh, pussy clenching around nothing as you catch his cock twitching against his pants out of your peripheral
Panting, you fell against his chest but tears continued to fall from your dissatisfaction
Your walls ached for something thick and hard to fill it, and in that moment it felt like nothing in the world mattered but to fulfill that desire
And in a way that was true, it was all you were made for
“Need…” you whimpered out, gesturing to his cock. You didn’t touch it in fear of being pushed away, instead you communicated your want through eye contact and a single word
Aventurine’s internal conflict had begun to boil, and your desperate pleas were the tipping point
“Alright baby, alright. You can have me” He gives in, shakily pulling down his pants with one hand while the other keeps you steady on his lap
You nearly drool at the sight of his cock, flushed and painfully hard, slapping against his shirt
“Just this once, yea? Once and that’s all” His voice is all raspy now, attention solely focusing on getting his needy cock into your slobbering hole.
It was you who couldn’t even speak human, so why did he feel like he was the one about to be fucked dumb?
Your ears flatten against your head as you felt the tip of his cock against your pussy, and the stretch itself nearly has you crumbling in relief
He clenches his jaw, biting back an ungodly moan at the feeling of your tight gummy walls clenching around his sensitive tip like a vice. He holds still so as to not cum with just the tip in you
You however, were impatient and wanted his cock now. With one swift movement, you sink down on his shaft, a layer of cream and juices forming at the base of his cock where you two were connected
Unable to help himself, Aventurine lets go of the bruising bite he had on his lips and moans a depraved, desperate noise
All thought of how wrong this was left his mind, and all that was left was a persistent echo that told him to fuck into your squelching hole
You had a purpose and you were on the way to achieving that
The next morning, Aventurine is sleeping soundly with you cuddled up against him when he hears a ding from his tablet
Hello gambler, this is Ruan Mei
I do hope that you are not too angry with the surprise. I’m guessing that you aren’t too disappointed though, as you looked like you could use the extra company. She is the first creature I have made for the purpose of procreation; most of my creations lack this need as they are lab-raised creatures who do not need this function. Feel free to return the product if you were unsatisfied with its… performance.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Disclaimer:
This is my first fic so uh sorry if he’s OOC >.>

First Bath - Matt Sturniolo x Y/n Oneshot
warnings - angst, (i almost cried but then it gets okay again) fluff, swearing, kissing, cuteeee, birth???
based on this request !!
—————————
9:29am
The back door shuts after Matt put our new baby girl in the back.
“Matt, i’m fine.” I scoff as he tries to help me in the car, i hate being babied.
“I know, n/n. Just take it easy, you just had a baby.” He reasons.
“Like a whole week ago!” I defend myself, grunting as i get myself in the passenger seat.
To rundown, the delivery didn't go as planned. It was supposed to be a natural birth but then we had a complication and i had to go into an emergency C-section, here's how it went.
—————————
1:36am
"One more push, mama. You got this!" The nurse patting my forehead with a cold cloth encouraged.
I let out a groan as hot tears ran down my hot and sweaty face, I shook my head. "I can't!" I let out a sob as Matt squeezed my hand.
Matt shook his head and kissed my sweaty forehead, "You can do it, y/n, i know you can my love. You're so close, n/n. Doing so good, baby. One more and then she's here." He smiled, Matt had tears ready to spill from his eyes any moment, he looked stressed out.
I sobbed, "I can't, i can't!" I yelled out.
"You can, y/n! You're almost there, you cannot give up now! One more and then we are done you got this." The doctor that was currently in between my legs said.
As i was about to push again, a monitor started beeping. I looked too my left, where it was coming from. It was the baby's monitor.
Doctors flooded the room.
"W-what's happening?" I stuttered out, feeling a sudden pain in my lower abdomen.
"Ow!" I winced.
"Wait, what the hell is going on?" Matt said, his hand still holding mine as he had a concerned look on his face.
"Y/n, we have to get you into an emergency C-section right now, if you push again the baby will not survive. We didn't catch this before, but every time you pushed it worsened the baby's chances of surviving and yours too." The doctor said.
"But- i-im almost done, we are almost there!" I protest, "Matt- i'm scared." I sobbed.
"I know, honey, i'm sorry." Matt squeezed my hand tightly, turning back to the doctors, "How the hell did you miss this?"
"We don't know and we are truly sorry but, Y/n, if you don't get into the operating room now we could lose you both." The doctor said as the rest of the doctors started preparing too move.
"No- no- what? I can't lose them both! What are you, insane?!" Matt yelled, tears now streaming down his face.
"Mr. Sturniolo, please calm down, you can wait in the waiting room with the rest of your family."
3rd person POV (still flash back)
Y/n's heart monitor also started going down, her body seized as she shook.
"She's going into V-Fib!" One of the doctors yelled before one climb on her gurney, starting to do chest compressions as they rolled the gurney out and too the operating room.
Matt sobbed, watching his wife. "Y/n!" He called out before a security guard escorted him into the waiting room.
Chris and Nick were there waiting for him. Chris and Nick had smiles on their faces but seeing Matt's hurt, broken and depressing expression their faces changed.
They got up and walked over too him, Chris wrapped his arm around Matt and ran his fingers through his hair, Matt let out a sob.
"What happened, Matt?" Chris asked first as him and Nick brought him to sit down.
Matt sobbed.
"Matt, talk to us." Nick said as Marylou and Jimmy came back with bags of food.
Marylou put the bags down and rushed over to Matt, Chris got out of the way so Marylou could sit next to him.
"They don't know if y/n or the baby is gonna make it." Matt sobbed.
"I can't lose them both, mom, i can't. Y//n is the love of my life i-" Matt interrupted himself with another sob.
"Aw, honey. She'll be okay, they both will." Marylou hugged him.
Chris and Nick shared a saddened look, feeling incredibly bad for Matt, but also incredibly scared that their bestfriend and their niece would not make it.
Timeskip (Still flashback)
Y/n POV
I wake up to a steady beeping sound, i opened my eyes and saw Matt in the hospital chair next to my bed, his eyes were closed and his chest was moving up and down with each steady breath. His head was rested on his hand and i could see tear stains down his cheeks. He looked so tired, even while he was sleeping.
He had his left hand in mine, holding my hand tightly and subconsciously.
I moved slightly, letting out a grown in pain as i tried to readjust my uncomfortable position, Matt seemed to wake up at this.
"Baby, wait." He said softly, standing up and helping me fix my position.
He stood over me and looked at me for a second. "You're okay." He whispered.
I smiled and nodded before my smile dropped, I looked around the room for my baby.
Matt put his hand on my cheek, "The nurse is getting her now, she is one hundred percent okay, and she's beautiful." He comforted.
"She's okay?" I finally spoke.
"She's okay, and so are you now.." He reassured, leaning down and kissing my lips.
"Okay, here she is!" Matt and I pulled away from the kiss as a nurse wearing pink scrubs walked in rolling a small gurney with a baby in it,
my baby,
our baby.
She had big eyes, not sure of the color yet, she had long eyelashes and her hair was dark brown, her skin was creamy white but with my tan skin i was sure it would change.
She had a button nose and cute little lips, and her hands were so small.
"Would you like to hold her, mom?" The nice nurse asked, I nodded rapidly as Matt laughed and pushed my hair behind my ear.
The nurse picked up my baby and handed her to me, I groaned in pain as I almost lost my grip on Ella.
Matt quickly put his arms under mine, the nurse reached over, taking Estrella from me and putting her back as Matt's eyebrows furrowed, "What was that?" He asked as he looked at the nurse.
"The doctor said there are going to be struggles, the complication you endured took a big toll on your strength, so this is totally normal, but in a couple weeks you should be feeling better and maybe by then you'll be able too hold her without any problems, and everything will be okay." The nurse explained.
"Weeks?" My voice cracked, i shook my head. "I can't even hold my own baby! How is everything going to be okay?" Tears streamed down my face as Matt's fingers brushed through my hair.
"I know, i'm so sorry. I'll um-" The nurse clears her throat, "I'll give you guys some space." She says, grabbing a clip board and shutting the door before leaving the room. The blinds were closed too so we had complete privacy.
My eyes trail back down to my baby, her eyes were big and bright as they darted all over the room.
I buried my face in my hands and let out a sob, Matt kissed my forehead.
"Y/n, look, baby, look." He pulled my arms away from my face.
I watched as Matt walked over to the other side of the bed and picked up Ella, he walked back to where he was originally standing,
"Put your arms out," He said, I sniffled but complied, putting my arms out.
He placed Estrella in my arms carefully but put his arms right back under mine and helped me hold her as my arms shake slightly. I sniffled and let out a sob of happiness as i looked down at our daughter in my arms, and technically Matt's arms too.
"It doesn't hurt, right? You're not in pain?" He asked to make sure.
I shook my head, "I'm fine." I laughed, "She's beautiful," I said as i looked up at Matt.
He sniffled and nodded as tears flooded his eyes, "Just like her mother." He laughed, leaning in and kissing me.
—————————
Present Time (9:32am)
"I know, baby. But the doctor said-"
I cut Matt off, "I don't care what the doctor said, Matt! The doctor almost killed me and my baby so even if i had all the fucks in the world i still wouldn't give one!" I snap, I see Matt's expression change to a sad one.
"Well at least listen to me." He says, his voice soft.
I look at him and sigh before nodding. "Okay," I whisper.
Matt smiles and grabs my seatbelt, leaning over and buckling me in.
I clear my throat as Matt stands there for a second. He smiles at me, I try to hold my smile back but i give in, giving him a toothy smile.
"There she is." He laughs, leaning in and locking me in a sweet kiss, I hum against his lips.
He pulls away. "Let's go home."
"Agreed." I let out a sigh of relief.
—————————
7:29pm
I rock Ella back and forth in my arms.
I was standing in front of the window, it felt so calm, the air, the silence, the only thing you could hear was the fan in the room and the occasional car passing in the street.
I hear the door open, footsteps on the carpet come behind me as arms wrap around my waist.
I lean back into Matt's arms, he kisses my neck.
"How are you feeling?" He asks me, his breath against my ear.
I smile as Ella lets out a soft sound, "Happy, like really fucking happy, Matt."
Matt chuckles, "That's great, baby." He turns me around to face him, Ellas eyes were open and on Matt. She was so pretty.
My arms tremble as i feel a bad pain in my lower abdomen, my arms shaking but my grip on Estrella tightening, i close my eyes for a second.
I sighed as Matt took Estrella from my arms. I frowned.
"The doctor said this was gonna happen, it's completely normal, but that means you actually have to take it easy." Matt comforts,
I shook my head, "I'm already failing as a mother- i can't even hold my baby," Tears of frustration flowed down my face.
Matt shook his head and held Ella in one arm, wrapping his other one around me tightly. He kissed the side of my head, "No, no. That's not it at all, baby. You're already being an amazing mother. You are pushing through the pain to hold your daughter, you risked your life for her, you went through 6 hours of pain just to have to go into surgery for her, if that's not an amazing mother than i don't know what is." He tells me.
I give him a sad smile, "Thank you for being so good to me."
"Always." He laughs, "Now, should we give her her first bath in her new home?"
I smile, "Yes, definitely."
—————————
7:36pm
"Okay, put her in." I tell Matt as Ella is naked now, he lifts her up and puts her in this baby bath that's especially made for newborns. We put the baby bath in the bigger bath so it was easier, that left us kneeling in front of the big bath as we put Estrella in the small one. (Search it up if you don't know what i'm talking about.)
Ella looks at us weirdly before splashing the water slightly.
"You think she likes it?" I ask Matt as i hold his arm.
"I don't know, why don't we just ask her?" He says sarcastically.
I deadpan, "Very funny." I say before grabbing the baby soap.
"Is that the right soap?" Matt asks me, taking the bottle from me and reading it.
"I don't know, why don't we ask her?" i repeat what Matt just said to me a couple seconds ago.
"Ha, ha. Very funny, smartass." He shakes his head and chuckles.
Wrapping his arms around me and peppering quick kisses all on my face, i laugh. "Matt!"
He kisses me once before pulling away.
I wet my hands before lathering my hands in the soap, i carefully grab Estrellas arm as she give me a side eye.
Matt laughs.
"Shut up." I mumble, washing Ellas other arm too.
—————————
7:48pm
I sit down in the rocking chair with Estrella in my arms. I look down at her and go over all her features.
Matt comes in and hands me her last bottle of the night.
"She's beautiful." Matt says as i feed Estrella the bottle. I nod in agreement.
"She really is, huh?" I smile.
"Just like her-"
I cut Matt off, "Father. She is beautiful like her father." I say, still looking down at Estrella.
Matt chuckles, kissing my cheek. "I love you."
"i love you too, Matt."
—————————
I hope you guys liked this because i knowww i did, i actually had so much motivation and di way more for this request then what was actually requested but i hope you like it anyway. I live for angst. I also am keeping estrella and mailo for further dad matt fics

You finally made it into the hospital, water gushing from your legs and you finally realize it’s time. Not long after that, your contractions begin to pick up.
Of course, you have to wait in the waiting room as they find some space for you, but at this very moment you don’t think you’ll last.
Reaching up under your dress, you feel something between your legs - and you realize you’re a lot more close to delivering this child than you thought. With wide eyes and a nervous expression, you gain the attention of fellow nurses that inevitably have to rush you into delivery.
~~~~~~~
Within a few moments, you’re pushed back to a private room. Undressed and with a hospital gown, ready to finally birth your child - you didn’t think the process would be this quick, but you weren’t complaining either. You just want these contractions to finally end.
Before you know it, the doctor and nurses are in their scrubs, gloves on and ready for the action you’re about to present everyone.
“I’m going to need you to give me a big push!” The doctor exclaims and you nod, trying to catch your breath.
“Y-you got it!” You murmur through gritted teeth, with your eyes squeezing shut, your legs involuntarily spread and you give one of the hardest pushes between groans and grunts. “Oh God!” You scream in pain, the head stretching your vagina to full capacity, you sit up and lean forward, pressing down on your belly like this was going to push him out any quicker.
You fall back and pant, finally trying to catch your breath. The doctor eager at your work - but, you are not finished yet. “C’mon! I need a few more pushes! You can do it! One — Two!”
By the third push you’re already there “fuck!” You yell through contractions, you’re prying apart your own legs at this time doing all that you can to get this baby out of you.
“Three!” You yell and finish his counting, with one last push you manage to get the rest of your baby out. Panting and fully satisfied, all you can do is lay there and catch your breath.
@jegulus-microfic / february 6: murder / word count: 692 cw: consensual violence(?)
Regulus is having the shittiest day of his life. He started the day with a very detailed text from his lovely mother, reminding him of how much of a disappointment he is for dropping out of college to open a bar with his equally disappointing brother. Later, there was a mistake with the vodka delivery (it was not their usual brand), so he and Sirius had to make some awkward phone calls as the distributor refused to change it. Also, almost too late, they realised that all the ice in stock had melted during the night due to a power cut they weren't aware of, so he and Remus had to rush out to get more. The cherry on top was that the guy he was kind of seeing (mostly to fuck, if he's being honest) decided to get back with his ex, and the thing is, Regulus isn't angry or sad about it, because he saw it coming, but it adds up to the whole situation.
"You look like you're about to murder someone with that knife."
And now James Potter is here.
Everyone knows that if Regulus takes it upon himself to cut the limes, it is because he is at his limit and it is best to stay away. Everyone except James, who seems to have no sense of self-preservation.
"Are you volunteering?" he says without stopping what he is doing.
"Maybe I am. I'm sorry about Daniel, Sirius told me what happened."
"You know his name is Michael, James."
"Yeah, whatever. So what do you say if I help you blow off some steam?" he asks, leaning over the top of the bar.
Listen, Regulus knows he doesn't mean it like that, but he can't help but think of the older man in exactly that way. Blame it on the crush he has had on his brother's best friend for several years. So he just raises an eyebrow at him.
"Oh, I didn't mean it like that." James says after a moment. Is he smirking?
"Then what?"
"Have you ever heard of hurricane shots?"
"Of course, they ask Marlene and Dorcas for them all the time," he replies as he bends down to pick up some empty bottles. It's not rush hour yet, but it's important to get everything ready before then.
"Great, may I have one?"
"Sure, let me call Dorc-"
"From you. May I have one from you?" Regulus bumps his head on the counter as he stands up. James' idea to help him relax is going to give him a stroke.
"Sure." It's the only thing he says before the other man can say anything and he starts gathering what he needs for the shot. "Is vodka okay for your shot?" James just nods, but he can feel his eyes lingering as he pours the alcohol and the glass of water.
Regulus has never done this before but he knows the procedure, he sets everything down on the bartop and shortly afterwards he sits down on the edge of it, opening his legs to let James stand between them. His heart is racing but he looks up to remove the man's glasses (it would be a tragedy if they got ruined) and leaves them beside him. He hands the shot to his victim and rings the small bell they have for this purpose.
"Don't hold back." James says with that grin again as he places a hand on Regulus' thigh and promptly takes the shot, looking him in the eye. Oh, he hates him so much.
Regulus splashes him with the water and then slaps him.
He slaps him. Hard.
James shakes his head and runs a hand over his face to remove the water and his own hair from his forehead, then looks at him with an expression that can only be described as pure devotion, and Regulus knows it.
They kiss. Hard. In a way that only two idiots who have spent years pining for each other can do.
Cheers and shouts from the people in the bar. In the background, Sirius hands Remus some money.
"I knew it would work." Remus says.
itoshi sae hates laundry day ever since your dryer broke.
(he broke it. neither of you know what he did, but he broke it and he hasn’t bought a new one since.)
he especially hates when it rains. it means he’s stuck with a pile of wet clothes and no place to dry them in.
it also means he’s stuck sitting in front of the doors to your balcony, glaring at the sky when he realizes the rain isn’t going to let up soon.
he hears the front door open, signaling your arrival. he makes no move to look at you, but he greets you back when you call out to him.
“it’s raining.”
“i know,” he sighs in annoyance.
“do we have a bucket?”
“i think so,” he gets up from his spot on the floor with a groan, “why?”
he turns his head in your direction, eyes widening in panic when he sees you standing by the door, soaking wet.
you point at the clothes clinging to your body, “it’s raining hard.”
“i know,” he rushes to you, “why’re you drenched?”
“i could’ve sworn i packed your umbrella,” he clicks his tongue, lifting up your arms to get you out of your shirt.
you kick your pants off, “it broke.”
he picks up your clothes, dragging you to the bathroom. he tosses your clothes in the sink, gently pushing you into the shower.
he takes his phone out to check the weather, slightly frowning when he realizes it won’t let up for at least another hour.
he relaxes when he hears the shower head running. “i made food.”
the corners of his lips quirk up when you groan in disgust.
“couldn’t you have ordered delivery or something?” he can hear the distress on your voice.
“it would’ve taken too long to arrive,” he bites back his smile, “plus, i was starving.”
you whine. he laughs, “eating my food once won’t kill you.”
“last time you cooked,” the shower head turns off, “we had to rush to the hospital because you gave me food poisoning.”
you stick your arm out of the shower door.
“first off,” he hands you a towel. “you were already sick.”
“and,” he grins when you step out of the shower, towel snug around your shivering frame, “if my food had, in fact, poisoned you as you say, then why was i completely fine?”
you glare, averting your gaze from his, a soft huff slipping past your lips. “you tell me.”
you perk up, turning your head towards the sink. “why are my clothes in the sink?”
“the washer’s full with our laundry.”
you turn to look at him, blinking curiously. “why didn’t you throw them in there, then?”
“the clothes in the washer are already clean.”
“oh.” you sway on your feet, “you haven’t dried them?”
sae shakes his head, a dry smile on his lips, “it’s raining really hard.”
and amused hum leaves your lips, “you really need to buy a new dryer.”
“i know,” he sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose, “i’ll do it tomorrow.”
there’s a beat of silence.
“sae.”
he looks at you.
you point at the sink, “those were the only clean clothes i had left.”
he blinks. you blink back, a sheepish smile on your lips. he sighs before taking off his shirt and offering it to you.
“that’s the only clean shirt you have left too, isn’t it?” you tentatively reach out to grab it, motioning for him to turn around.
“how’d you know?”
you slip the shirt over your head, smiling at his curious tone, “it’s the only big shirt you have.”
“you also said you’d be caught dead before wearing it out in public,” you laugh in amusement.
(he did say that. the very first day you saw him in it, actually. it’s officially become his ‘i’ve got nothing else left to wear’ shirt.)
“whatever,” his ears flush, “can i turn around now?”
you hum, pressing a kiss to his cheek when he does. he kisses your forehead in return.
“c’mon.” sae tugs you out of the bathroom.
“where are we going?”
“kitchen.” he turns to look at you, a mischievous smile on his face, “you haven’t eaten yet.”
a horrified expression paints your face. he laughs at you. you try to wriggle out of his grasp, “i’m not hungry!”
“oh, please,” he rolls his eyes, “you’ll be fine.”
“itoshi sae,” you cry, “if i die i’m leaving everything i own to your little brother!”
“you don’t even know him.”
you sulk, “he still deserves it more than you!”
he scoffs, “it’s not like i’m the one doing your laundry or anything.”
“you broke my dryer.”
“i’ll buy you a new one.” he glances out the window. it’s not raining as hard. (he hopes it stops soon.)
“it better be a good one.”
he looks back at you, a smile tugs at his lips to return the one on your face. you both fall silent, the soft pitter patter of the rain against your windows being the only sound in the apartment.
you stay like that for a bit, the sound of rain soothing both of you. until you hear a thunderclap. sae’s eyes widen at the same time yours do. you stare at each other for a few seconds.
your lips form into a fine line, “we should order a dryer.”
“yeah,” he sounds breathless.
“we should do it now.”
“yeah.” he dumbly nods his head. “we should.”
Tumblr media
a/n: this has been sitting in my docs for a while, tried to make it a bit exciting! I wasn't planning on making this a series, but here I am. enjoy!! hope it lives to your guys' expectations (T-T)
-
“how’s your job?” the chief asks, swirling the coffee in his cup.
“it’s good. they said they were impressed with my work.” you mumble against the cup of coffee before taking a careful sip, trying not to burn your tongue.
“that’s good. you’ve always been so smart like your parents.” your uncle says, his eyes softening. you smile, though it’s a small, weak smile and your heart aches a bit at the thought of your parents.
would they be proud of you now? and your side ‘job?’
you had a cliche backstory for someone with powers, a "hero" backstory. life was great until middle school, your parents died around that time. you were also too smart for your own good; sure, it was a plus in school, but it was not a plus for your teenage social life. you had pretty comic-worthy trauma and yeah, it hurt to think about it here and there, made you ponder and sulk at the ungodly hours of the night, but it was a while ago and you learned how to cope.
despite the emotional damage it caused, it definitely made you stronger, shaped you into who you are today, and is the reason you play "hero." bad experiences give you good lessons, that's what your mom had told you. your dad had told you something similar, something along the lines of "with great power, comes great responsibility," your dad always had a way with words.
the loud sound of a folder making contact with the wooden table is made so abruptly and you flinch a bit, looking up to see who had slammed it down so aggressively: park jihyo–the same person who had patched you up two weeks ago.
the detective wore a stern expression on her face, something mixed with anger and worry as she furrowed her brows while also deepening her gaze on your uncle, eyes filled with a certain flame of authority. park slides the folder toward your uncle: the chief of the police department.
chief l/n isn't the best guy to be related to when your part-time gig is swinging around the city as the person he's not too fond of. unlucky you.
“chief, this one is… just look.” jihyo sighs. your uncle's brows crease as he pulls the papers out from the orange, paper folder. jihyo continues to speak, “5 people dead, and fourteen severely injured.”
jihyo looks at you for a split second, and you look back at her. it's not the best time to start reminiscing, but theres a sudden memory of you that she recalls—the first time she met you.
the first interaction she had with you was four months ago; the impression you had left on her was a great one—it really piqued her interest in you. it's really not time to start having flashbacks to when she had met her boss's niece, but here she is.
-
“jihyo, this is my niece y/n.” chief l/n had introduced, smiling and patting you on the back.
chief l/n had always forgotten to bring lunch, and your aunt hated that. your aunt turned you into a personal messenger, a cheap (not even, you got scammed) delivery woman, so you were forced to drop off lunch for your uncle, some type of udon soup thing with fishcakes scattered around in the thermos (you couldn't lie, it smelled good and you were a bit jealous that she hadn't made you any lunch the first time you started living with them and working on your own).
the first thing jihyo noticed was that you had the chief's brown eyes, and you two were similar in the way that you were taller than most – your uncle being 6’4 inches of pure muscle and strength, a whole tank for a chief and his build fit the role. jihyo had guessed you were around 5’8, you also seemed to have some muscle from what she could tell, a prominent build with broader shoulders and toned arms, you seemed rather fit and active. there were common similarities in physical features and body language; you two were definitely related.
the detective had also noticed that you were particularly pleasing to look at.
your face looked like it had been sculpted to perfection: you had a strong, sharp jawline, and prominent cheekbones that rivaled even some models she had seen in the magazines at the local grocery store. your eyes were similar to your uncles, they had a softer look, though, and were noticeably striking. your lips were a dark peach color, beautiful and plump. every aspect and feature on your face was put together to construct such a captivating sight, it honestly shook jihyo up slightly.
“it’s nice to meet you y/n,” jihyo had greeted, “i never knew you had a niece, chief.”
“ah, well this little one-”
“i’m 24.” you sighed, furrowing your brows as your uncle chuckled playfully.
“whatever, whatever. you’re still very young,” the chief responds, “she landed a great internship at minatozaki industries, so she’s been staying at my place for the time being, probably a long time.” he adds proudly, hitting your back again and it makes you tense up a bit from the unintentional strength in the contact. your eyebrows crinkle and you wince—just for added effect.
“you’re a scientist?” jihyo questions,
“i’m a researcher for them.” you simply reply, “i journal and edit sometimes too, well—i've only written one article, actually.” you add with a shrug.
“that’s impressive,” jihyo says, and it really is because you’re a year younger than her and somehow you've landed an outstanding internship at one of the most thriving corporations in the city. you nod and end up transferring a bit more eye contact, which communicates a shared understanding and fondness between the two of you, there’s an exchanged interest.
the eye contact breaks when a repeating buzz is heard from your phone,
“oh, i have to go,” you mumble, “it was nice meeting you jihyo, hope we can talk more."
"me too, y/n," jihyo responds. you simply shoot another awkward grin.
"i’ll get going now. uncle, i’ll be home by six.” you finally add, waving while fixing the bag that slings across your body.
jihyo thinks you’re impressive.
-
“chief,”
“jihyo?” he says, still holding the paper of the report, but looking up at jihyo. the shorter woman sighs and bites the inside of her cheek,
“listen to me, just hear me out okay,” jihyo says. the chief focuses all his attention on the woman in front of him, all 5’3 inches of stubbornness and authority: his most outstanding employee, his favorite detective.
jihyo lets out a small breath.
“the suspect was reported to have been a lizard, chief. you think we can fight a man-sized, not even—it was bigger than a man, taller and bigger than you, apparently.” jihyo sighs, “i think we should find a way to contact spiderwoman-”
“absolutely not.” the chief says almost immediately, almost breaking the pen he had been holding in his hand. “i’m not letting that criminal ruin anything else.” he used the word criminal, it made your heart sink just a bit.
“chief, i don’t think you get it. this is a lizard. it’s something out of a comic, or movie. this isn’t some secret operation or regular thief, numerous officers were injured and people are dead l/n. one of the sergeants had lost his arm, and he barely made it.”
“what?” the chief voices in disbelief, his eyes widened. jihyo looks down at a spot at the coffee table,
“sergeant moon l/n. moon taeil, his arm…” jihyo trails off, looking down and biting the inside of her cheek.
your uncle pauses for a moment, looking down at the paper in his hand with incredulity. he darts back up at the woman and leans back in his chair, staring at the desk still perplexed. his jaw tightens up again as he closes his eyes, letting out a stressed sigh whilst pinching the bridge of his nose.
“i don’t trust that spiderwoman at all, detective. i know she saved your life twice, and yes i'm glad she did, but you shouldn’t trust so easily.” he starts. you seem to be a bystander, they seem so invested and heated in this conversation. you listen carefully.
“look, if you think about it: the lizard and that spider girl are the same, they have those special abilities. you might think ‘spider girl’ is good now, but she has the power to do as much harm as that lizard, and assumably more brains too. she could be extremely dangerous, what if we were to trust her? what if she takes advantage of us and boom, everything goes to shit.” the chief exaggerates the last part a bit, it takes both you and jihyo by surprise at how much emotion he uses as he expresses his distrust for spiderwoman.
“you really think we can take that lizard?” jihyo questions, her eyebrows crease and the hand that held her up as she leaned on the table tightens its grip on the edge of it. you take a sip from the banana milk in your hand as you listen, impressed and surprised at how heated your uncle is about his distrust for your other identity.
“jihyo, i get where you’re coming from, but it’s just not safe. i don’t trust her, especially after that damn drug operation incident. i mean, how would she have known about that? she just showed up and fucked up our plan, she could fuck up more than that and we’re just lucky it happened to be a crime scene that she had ‘tackled.’ do you get what i’m saying, park?”
jihyo nods, but she doesn’t make eye contact with the head of the police.
“yeah, i get where you’re coming from,” jihyo responds, “just a suggestion.”
you sit there in silence and stare at your uncle, a bit bewildered that he hates you that much, imagine if he knew that spiderwoman had heard him talking so much shit about her—you kind of want to laugh, even if it's belittling.
jihyo has this expression mixed with defeat and concern, it makes you frown. you don't like seeing jihyo so beat, especially because of your unwavering uncle. the chief of the police and you are close enough so that you can scold him playfully and talk to him like an adult, but this matter would leave you in an argument that you could never win. your uncle was stubborn and scary, even with you occasionally.
you wanted to talk to the detective as spiderwoman, you know she trusts you and you want to reassure her, it sucks to see her getting shut down like this. if it were just the two of you right now, you'd go on about how persistent and ridiculous your uncle is for shutting down this suggestion, you know you could work this out, but not now, not with chief l/n present.
“alright, i’ll get back to investigating this. let me know if you um, have any better suggestions that don’t involve her.” jihyo mumbles, voice getting smaller as she mutters the ‘her.’
before departing, detective park adds one more thing, “also, um, they’ve already planned to have a gathering of some sort for the victims, it was moon’s idea. i forgot to tell you, but it might be in your inbox." jihyo chokes out. "i’ll get going now.”
detective park can deal with rejection, and detective park can deal with her tenacious boss.
jihyo looks at the chief for a bit before her gaze sets on you. eye contact is made and you shoot her a "sorry about that" smile, and she replies with an “it’s okay” smile. you’ve always had this way of communicating quietly, at least in front of your uncle—no words needed—even though you two had known each other for only a bit.
detective park walks away with the papers she had taken back, her shoulders sink a little as she strolls out the door.
“that was kind of harsh.” you chide, almost glaring at your uncle with narrowed eyes.
“i just can’t stand that spiderwoman.”
thanks, you almost reply.
 “i trust jihyo—don't get me wrong—she’s always been one with great ideas and plans, but this one… god that vigilante…”
“she can’t be that bad, what if she’s just doing it because, i don’t know,” you’re trying to frame your response as best as you can because how does one who isn’t spiderwoman word her motives for doing what she does? they'd either have to know her personally, or be her. “maybe she just feels a sense of responsibility with her abilities.”
“or maybe she’s a threat to us.”
“well,” and you almost continue, but this is chief l/n.
you stop trying after that.
-
jihyo almost died right then and there from shock.
“hi.” spiderwoman had said so casually—too casually for someone who had appeared behind the marble counter in the center of jihyo’s dimmed kitchen area.
“you just love breaking the law do you?” jihyo says in a stable tone, though her heart had been beating a little too fast from your unannounced visit (she tries to excuse it with how you shocked her, but it might just be from being able to have your stupidly charming self in her home).
“you’re not the chief, and i know you love me. i'd like to call my ‘law breaking’ a friendly surprise.” you beam, moving so you can sit on the counter. detective park can tell you're grinning, even with that stupid mask on. jihyo sighs and sits on her beige couch. she leans into it with a small, exhausted groan.
“what do you want? did you hurt yourself again?” the detective says with annoyance, but deep down there's some worry laced in the question—she’s also been wanting to see you again, especially after she had been rejected so harshly by her boss.
you shake your head. “no, just wanted to see my favorite worker in the police force.”
“yeah sure.” she groans, “how are your injuries?”
“aw, you care about me?” it comes out as almost a chuckle.
“never mind.” jihyo says, rolling her eyes playfully. a laugh leaves your lips and it’s a heartwarming moment, but it's strange to the both of you because you’re spiderwoman, a whole ‘criminal’ in jihyo’s apartment and you converse as if you’re two good friends.
“my injuries have been healing well,” you begin, “they closed up three days after you patched me up, it’s like they weren’t even there—kinda,” you explain. maybe you were lying a bit, there was still that faint scar that most people get after getting cut (in this case, you were cut much more than the average person would've been). the detective sits up from her seat and looks at the vigilante wide-eyed, her brows furrowing, and eyes narrowing as she looks at you in disbelief.
“are you serious? let me see, there’s no way.”
“hey, woah woah, usually women would take me out to dinner before they undress me.” you tease, laughing to yourself and jihyo knows you have that stupid grin on your face—though, she’d be lying if she said she didn’t want to see it again.
jihyo crosses her arms then leans back into the beige couch, you’re unbelievable.
(her heart warms up a little, she's extremely intrigued.)
“what are you here for? there’s no way you broke into my apartment for no reason.” jihyo probes, and she says it with such authority that it kind of makes you nervous, her tone makes you tense—it's kind of hot.
“the lizard thing,” you mutter, “i wasn’t there in time to stop him from hurting all those people.”
there’s a sudden guilt that takes over—the whole mood of the room shifts slightly, but you compose yourself even as your jaw tenses. the floor suddenly looks a bit more appealing now because you’re doing anything to not look at the detective before you, feeling at fault.
“you can’t save all of them, i know how it feels.” jihyo mutters softly, her voice is deeply comforting and you fold a bit. “did you manage to do anything about that giant reptile?”
“no, but i think i know what it is, and how it, well… how it turned into that."
“what? i honestly thought it was a science experiment gone wrong, maybe some lizard accidentally drank something, i don't know, i'm not a scientist. i was actually going to ask the chief's niece since she’s a science genius, very smart.” jihyo shrugs. your mood is lifted again after being complimented, after hearing the words "science genius."
she thinks of your alter ego like that? well, technically spiderwoman is your alter ego, not that nerdy minatozaki industries employee. you hold back a snicker.
“you’re not one hundred percent wrong on the science experiment part, i guess.”
“can you just get to the point?” jihyo groans.
“alright alright,” you make your way over to jihyo, standing slightly closer to the tired detective and leaning against the wall. “i’m this way because i’m technically a science experiment gone wrong, but at least i’m not a hideous monster. anyway, i got bit by this spider, it wasn’t a normal one, it was more of a science experiment that turned me into one.”
jihyo quirks a brow. “so you’re actually a spider?”
“well, no detective.” you scoff, “do i look like i have eight legs? well if i were a guy maybe i’d have three-”
“i hate you.” jihyo complains, “so much.”
“sorry sorry, it was funny.” you joke (you have the humor of a thirteen-year-old). “anyway, that spider basically lets me shoot webs out of my wrists, climb walls, stick to things, a sixth sense? hmm, i think i'm missing something...oh! i can turn invisible too-”
“you can what?” jihyo says in utter disbelief. you just keep surprising her more and more with every word that escapes your mouth.
“i can turn invisible yeah yeah whatever, it's cool i guess—but that’s enough about me. what i'm trying to say is that i’m a science experiment gone right and that lizard is one that went wrong.”
“harsh," she murmurs, but she's entertained by your amusing little explanation, "but how so? how do you know you won't go wrong?” and now jihyo’s really interested in your little backstory.
“that's a harsh way to put it detective." you pout, but continue nonetheless. "well, i didn’t turn into a spider and i ended up with some fun little abilities. this guy must’ve gotten bitten by a lizard or something? i don’t know, but instead of getting some cool fun powers, he became the lizard. i’d be crying on the ground if i were a were-lizard, must suck.” you finally explain. jihyo giggles at your last little remark.
“so what do you think we can do? how does this help at all?” the detective’s head tilts, and you think to yourself, humming for added effect.
“it’s probably like a werewolf, just without the full moon. maybe it will turn back to normal again?"
“and what if it’s permanent?” jihyo adds.
you shake your head, “a giant lizard can’t fit into many places without being noticed.” you respond, “i think if i can lure it or something, maybe even capture it with my webs—we can wait for it to change back: we can stop it from killing any others.”
jihyo nods and you both take a moment to consider.
the detective’s face lights up as she figures out a plan, and she almost laughs thinking about how this is everything the chief had told her not to do. she didn’t care though, this was the best option, the most effective one (and she also just wanted an excuse to work with you more often).
“there’s going to be a ceremony soon for that incident, three days from now i think. i bet you that lizard is going to sabotage it.”
“elaborate,”
jihyo's brows crease again, “half the police force is going to be there, including some civilians. if i were a hungry, ugly, big reptile, i think'd target that for sure.”
“glad you’re not a reptile because who knows what you’re capable of.” and jihyo scoffs at your response. “you’d probably be a small reptile though.” you exaggerate that last remark by putting your hand out, pretending to compare your height with her; detective park narrows her eyes again, and you think she might consider turning you in soon.
“how can i let you know when to show up? what if you’re not there in time again?”
you shrug your shoulders. “i’ll be there. i have my ways.”
“you’re so ominous it’s annoying.” park scoffs,
“just admit that you want to take me out on a date, i know you want to know more~ i mean personally, i’m up for it.” you smirk. "what about something simple, a coffee date? i'm a latte person-"
“i’ll take you out and turn you in soon,” she scoffs. you simply laugh at her response and make your way to the opened window to leave, much to jihyo’s disappointment (she kind of (really) enjoyed your stupid flirting and company).
“it’s a date then?” the tone of your voice is filled with hope, excitement, and wonder. your tone is extremely inviting. “maybe you can undress me after since you've seemed so eager,” you add with a chuckle. "i'm not against skipping to that part."
jihyo is about to get up to actually chastise you, even if her cheeks are flushed and her heart skips a beat. she really can’t believe you’re putting the image of a naked spiderwoman in her head right now, she doesn’t even know who you are or what you look like under that suit and mask—except for the bottom half of your face—but fuck you're really making her want to.
you leave before she can do anything, or even respond.
-
“dear, you have to come, it’s respectful and i know you’re free today.”
how the hell are you supposed to swing in to save the day as spiderwoman at the ceremony when you’re also being forced to sit near the big, buff chief and his highest-ranking men?
as much as you’d like to argue, you really can’t win this argument because that would make you sound like a really big asshole for not attending a ceremony for the injured and dead. would you be a bigger asshole for not being able to save them at that same ceremony? you’ll figure it out (you hope).
you’re not able to win an argument with the 6’4 tall, incredibly built chief of police, you'd never be able to in this type of situation.
now, you stand in front of the mirror buttoning up a white dress shirt to cover the little spider-shaped device that turns into a suit. the person in the mirror is looking at you with eyes that say “please don’t fuck this up”
you stare back with a look that responds: “trying my best.”
how the hell are you going to be two people at the same time, same place, while being near the people who hate your guts?
the venue is this random building a couple of minutes down the street from the police station.
various tables with white cloth surrounded by brown chairs are scattered across the room; there are already people dispersed across the room in their respective areas, chatting with each other. your uncle leaves your side and decides it’s okay to leave you in a place filled with strangers, great.
as you wander around the room some people seem to recognize you by the way they greet you so warmly. various people who you’ve seen once, or maybe twice greet you formally; you blame your uncle for why you’re being treated like someone with slight authority.
you’re finally alone about ten minutes later at the drink station and you fill your plastic cup with some iced lemon water. it’s a little less overwhelming in the mellow corner, away from the people who are a little too lively for the reason it’s even being held.
“hey.” a voice says, and you flinch, spilling some water on the dress shirt you have on. jihyo stands there next to you after tapping on your shoulder and making you look like a fool.
you pat down your shirt with the napkin on the table, “hi.” you respond, trying to sound a little leveled.
“did i scare you? sorry about the shirt, let me help.”
“just startled, haha.” you wish you could be as smooth as spiderwoman would in this interaction. jihyo helps you out by grabbing a napkin and patting at your chest, she’s literally patting near your boobs and your face is probably red from the way she does it so obliviously. spiderwoman would probably, no–she'd definitely be making a comment about jihyo wanting to be near your chest–something like that.
“so, how is everything so far?”
“it’s just really strange.” you sigh, finally patting down the button up dry, there’s just a big patch of water that hasn’t dried off yet. “i feel a little too respected.”
jihyo laughs and you feel a smile tugging at your lips.
“well, if i didn’t know your uncle as personally as i do now–i’d probably be the same.” jihyo confesses. “your uncle can be scary.” and she exaggerates the last remark by widening her eyes and raising her brows slightly. you laugh.
“and if you didn’t know me personally?”
“well, i’d be a bit skeptical of how this tall, striking woman had spilled water all over her chest just from me tapping on her shoulder.” jihyo jokes.
“you think i’m striking?” and you send her a grin. the grin sends a shiver down her spine and the detective pauses in her place as she watches the way your lips curl, almost identical to the vigilante's stupid grin. jihyo is a bit shaken up from the similarity and it takes her a bit to respond.
“a little.” she admits.
ever since you had met jihyo, something in that interaction sparked a casual friendship. a friendship that was so similar to one between people who had known each other in college, or maybe something close to that.
it always started with comforting, regular greetings, and there wasn't any awkward small talk. there was slight joking here and there, some teasing remarks, small ‘gossip’ about your uncle and anyone else that you two knew. it was a refreshing and friendly relationship that you had with jihyo—even some mutual attraction; in fact, you’re the reason jihyo had been hesitant to flirt with spiderwoman, she would be lying if she said she didn’t have a slight crush on you—though it could never work out—your uncle would kill her (probably).
“you know what my uncle said to me earlier? he’s a strange one.”
“and what was it?”
“he told me to sock any guy that tried to ask me out, it’s so weird.” and it really is, because everyone here is present for the events that took place a couple of days ago. why would it be someone’s first instinct to ask out the niece of the chief?
jihyo laughs at your remark, shaking her head. “honestly, i’d listen to him. the guys in the force that are single can be pretty strange.”
you nod in agreement, “yeah… what was his name… mark? he asked me out with the worst pickup line i’ve ever heard. something like ‘usually coffee is the thing that wakes up my senses, you seem like you’d wake them up too.’ the laugh i had to hold back…”
jihyo laughs upon hearing that very amusing information (which, she’ll likely use against her colleague). “he’s like that.”
the conversation is cut short when you hear the noise of someone tapping against a microphone. a familiar voice is heard throughout the room, it’s one of the sergeants who had welcomed you so warmly: taeyong. the guy seemed young for his position, maybe 3-4 years older than you, all you knew was that he was young for someone so highly ranked.
he cleared his throat before speaking. “welcome everyone. we’d like to thank every guest for attending.”
jihyo taps your shoulder and tilts her head to signal you to a table, just so you two can look like you’re listening. the two of you pull chairs out and sit at a small, round table that seems to be unoccupied. jihyo scans the room subtly, there was one thought that had been occupying her mind the entire time she had been in the venue: where is spiderwoman?
the detective knew that the lizard showing up wasn’t necessarily guaranteed, but she sort of wished it were. she wanted to see you, even if it meant a giant lizard barging in.
park jihyo should not be thinking of this. maybe the chief thought you could've been a bad influence, jihyo believes you might be a terrible one with how she's thinking right now.
-
taeyong had been finishing up his speech, that’s about the same time the low, goosebump-inducing rumble was heard and felt.
the entire building trembled.
jihyo looks around frantically, this should be your cue to show up, this should be your time to swing in and piss off the officers.
this should be the time she gets to see you again.
to be fair, you had shown up, just not as your little arachnid alter ego. just yourself, though jihyo didn’t know that.
the building shudders again and overwhelms all your senses, and everyone in the room. goosebumps creep up your back, and your so-called “sixth sense” starts acting up.
all the guests who had been in the venue started to chatter quietly; hushed whispers and sudden panic filled the room. the building shakes again and everyone seems to get the message that this isn’t normal, that something is happening and the fact that they don’t know what the hell is happening disturbs them greatly. worry and fear start to crowd the room when a piece of the ceiling falls, it makes you instinctively scan the room—keeping your guard up.
“y/n,” jihyo mutters. she’s observing the space with her narrowed eyes, the other cops seem to overlook with caution too. “stay close.”
“what’s going on?” you question, but you know the answer to your query as soon as another piece of the ceiling falls over and splits into pieces, leaving some dust. jihyo looks at you for a second, panic and worry in her eyes. all you can think is: i need to get out of this damn place.
taeyong turns around and as soon as he does the wall in front of him completely breaks down. the enormous (and really ugly) lizard invites itself in, emerging (more like barging and breaking in). taeyong falls back, no, he's practically flung away from where he was before; he lands with a blunt thud.
terror fills the room completely. jihyo’s eyes widen at the sight of taeyong on the floor, some blood seeping out of him as he lies there hardly conscious.
the guests scream and run towards the exits while the officers pull out their guns hurriedly and point them at the lizard in sight, their hands quiver and their bodies tremble in fear from just seeing this unbelievable monster.
you gulp at the sight, it really is an enormous lizard, maybe ten feet tall. the lizard was an ugly, swamp-green shade, it’s really disgusting to look at and its eyes are something out of a nightmare–gross.
 the spider-shaped device under your button-up practically calls out your name, it’s almost screaming in your ear “press me! press me!” and as much as you’d like to listen to it so you could magically turn into a so-called “hero,” you can’t risk people knowing, especially not the cops that are scattered around.
you’re hidden from a few cops, though it would definitely be noticeable if some random suit had been wrapping around you out of nowhere, someone would notice. despite the commotion that goes on and the panic that's heard from various screams and whimpers, someone would certainly notice the chief’s niece turning into the “friendly neighborhood spiderwoman!”
and that wouldn’t be good, especially if your uncle found out.
there are two options: run away with jihyo and let her find out about your little secret, or let people die. you don't have much time to think—or plan for that matter—maybe you can risk letting jihyo know, it’s about time. it’s your last resort anyway,
shit.
a groan leaves your mouth and you scan the room impatiently—there are broken chairs, tables, and debris all over—you’re trying to think of how you’ll escape this very inconvenient situation. you spot the sign that says “restrooms” from the corner of your eye and quickly pull jihyo by the arm, rushing over. jihyo’s expression turns into one of surprise and confusion, she looks at you with worry and furrowed brows while you drag her, almost debating whether she should fight against your grip on her.
“what the hell are you doing?” jihyo questions, looking at you distressed as she hears a sudden high-pitched scream and another sharp, loud sound from outside. your fingers work at the button-up you wear, and jihyo quickly turns away as you do so, “y/n? what the hell is wrong with you? why are you stripping now? we have to help-”
“fuck, jihyo.” you mutter, and you give up as you rip the dress shirt open, showing your bra-covered chest. this is not the time for jihyo to be checking you out right now, but shit, your body is like a magnet—one with toned abs and an incredibly satisfying physique that pulls her look towards it. you glance at the quivering bathroom door and continue, “i can’t explain everything now, but i swear i will soon, and please don’t get mad at me. there’s too much going on and i just, i have to go.”
“what the hell do you-” jihyo starts, but her question is quickly answered as you press on the spider logo.
your suit stems out from it and covers your body in seven fleeting seconds. the familiar suit covers your body, and she realizes it's you. her eyes widen and her mouth opens slightly, she looks at you in such shock and nearly stumbles back.
“i told you i’d be here,” you say. jihyo is left speechless, though she manages to choke out a broken, stuttered response to your "big reveal."
“y/n, you- what the hell?”
“let’s talk later yeah? help gather the people that aren’t cops, bring them somewhere safe,” you say, and jihyo is still baffled by everything that just happened at the last minute. you put a hand on her shoulder and start again. “jihyo?”
“you can't just, you can't just leave like that? you can't-”
"i have to help them, detective," you say. your eyes lock with hers as if they could convey a certain understanding.
"god y/n, you... you have to explain everything, i swear to god." she manages to sputter out. you nod at her,
"it's a date then, on me." you joke, trying to lighten the mood and calm her nerves so she can assist you in dealing with this situation. now jihyo knows it's really you. the detective watches you leave the bathroom quickly, though you stop at the door to give her a small thumbs up before departing.
jihyo is at a loss for words—she's not even sure if all her senses are working properly. there's too much to process, but the detective has to do her job, she has to try and save these people, she's going to do what you told her to do.
detective park can do this, detective park can overcome anything, detective park can do her job and compose herself—so that's what she does, and she's completely disregarding whatever the chief had said a couple of days prior:
jihyo is going to work with spiderwoman, she's going to do what spiderwoman says.
The first time I saw you, I knew
Levi Ackerman x fem!reader
No warnings, it's fluff
Levi kept a stern face as he walked through the corridor of the headquarters, that is until someone bumped into him. "Oi! Watch where you're going." He scolds you as you pick up the tea boxes from the ground. "I am so sorry sir, I am in a little bit of a rush."
He scoffs before kneeling to help you pick up the boxes. "Tea?" Levi asks looking at the box in his hand. "Yes sir, I am delivering it." You say quickly picking up the mess you made. "Thank you." You thank him and smile kindly as he hands you the rest of the tea. He doesn't say anything and just looks at you for a little bit before standing back up.
You know who he is and it makes you incredibly nervous that you just managed to trip over your feet and bump into him of all people. Yet, he didn't seem to mind, his expression remained the same. Standing up on your feet, you put take the boxes back in your hands.
There is a moment of awkward silence, Levi looks at the tea and than back at your face. "What's your name?" Usually there's a different person delivering tea to the headquarters, he didn't know his name as it didn't interest him but you didn't need to know that.
"Name." You tell him your name, offering him a gentle smile. "Hmm." Levi hums, his gray eyes boring into yours. There's a weird feeling in his stomach, he can't explain it. It's like something is tickling him from the inside. Was he....nervous?
"Ugh I really should be going now, sir." You say, trying to escape his intense gaze that makes your knees buckle slightly. He wasn't the tallest but in your opinion, he was handsome, you have never seen eyes like his.
"You don't need me to tell you where to go, I assume?" His brow raises slightly however the tone in his voice is a little softer, just a little. "No, sir I know my way around."
He nods. "Don't call me sir, Levi will do." You nod. "Okay...Levi." The man doesn't say anything in return, there's a weird lamp in his throat, he really, really, likes how you hair looks, how your face is illuminated by sunrays that shine through the window.
Levi was brave in every sense of the word and yet, here before you, he felt like a coward. So instead of speaking his mind, he sternly says. "Tch, just watch where you're going next time. Off you go now."
You quickly apologize again before rushing in the other direction, Levi turns to walk back to his office, trying to convince himself that it was nothing more than a stupid interaction with a random girl.
Before he walks back to his office, he looks back at you as you walk in the other direction. She's just a delivery girl. His mind tells him but his heart has already decided, she is the one.
Who Taught You How to Love Like That? - Chapter Three
Pairing: Modern!Aemond Targaryen x female character (third person) Warnings: Sugar daddy/sugar baby dynamics. Smut. Oral (f receiving). Mild angst. Word count: ~3.1k Series masterlist
Chapter summary: The dinner date happens, and much more besides that.
Author's note: No gods, no masters, no tag lists. Only scabs community label fics. If you find yourself tempted to slap a label on this, please block me instead.
She hasn’t been able to shake the memory of Aemond’s lips since they kissed on Wednesday evening. He’d dropped her home shortly afterwards, letting her know he’d pick her up at 7pm on Friday. Since then her tummy has fluttered every time he crosses her mind. If she closes her eyes she can almost taste the red wine and cigarettes on the plushness of his lips as they’d pressed eagerly against her own.
She knows it is foolish to wish for something more, to expect their arrangement to be something other than transactional, but that kiss had felt like he meant it, so she allows herself a tiny slither of hope to believe there is the possibility for a genuine connection to blossom between them.
Relieved when her last minute annual leave request for Friday is approved, she gets to work on making sure she looks her best. She intends to spend the day face masking, exfoliating and shaving until she is the very picture of perfection for her dinner date.
She’s startled by the buzzer to the flat, rushing to the door to answer the intercom. She lets the delivery driver up, assuming it’s something Mysaria has ordered, but balks when three parcels are handed to her, each of them with her name on.
She opens the first, it contains a black floor length Ralph Lauren off the shoulder gown with a thigh high slit. She holds it against herself in front of the mirror, she knows Aemond is generous to her, but she is still awestruck by the sheer extent of how much he is prepared to spoil her.
The second package is a pair of Jimmy Choo black suede open toe platform sandals with a stiletto heel and delicate ankle strap. She turns the shoes over in her hand, marveling at them, but also wondering how on earth she’ll ever manage to walk in them.
Her phone vibrates and she’s unable to keep the Cheshire cat-like grin from her face as she sees it’s from Aemond.
I saw the tracking information for my gifts update to state they had been delivered. Do you like them?
She fires off a quick response.
I love them :) Thank you xoxo
It’s only after she’s set her phone back down that she remembers there’s a third package, hidden among the wrappings of the first two she’d opened. Her eyes widen as she unwraps it. Agent Provocateur. Aemond has sent her lingerie.
Her palms grow sweaty as her heart races and her thoughts travel faster than her mind has the capacity to keep up with. This clearly meant he anticipated something happening between them this evening. What man sends a woman underwear if he doesn’t expect to see her in it? She isn’t experienced at all. What if he’s disappointed? What if he asked for a refund? Fuck, can sugar daddies even ask that of their sugar babies?
She is broken out of her mild panic when Mysaria comes home. “You in?” She calls out as she closes the front door behind her.
“In here.” She shouts back from her room.
She hears her flatmate toe off her shoes and then pad towards her. She leans against the doorframe, eyeing the packaging and clothes that lay scattered on the carpet and lets out a low whistle.
“Daddy been spoiling you? Lucky girl!” Mysaria says with a grin, which disappears when she sees her worried expression. “What’s the matter?”
She holds up the Agent Provocateur lingerie box by means of response and Mysaria nods in understanding.
“Nothing needs to happen until you feel ready. Why not just try it on and see how you feel?”
She sucks in a steadying breath, attempting to calm herself. There was no harm in trying it on.
It turns out to be a playsuit of sorts. An underwired, padded quarter cup bra with a basque constructed using satin covered black boning and satin straps to create a cage-like effect, complete with suspender straps with gold-toned sliders, with subtle, matching black satin bows. Inside the box is also a flimsy black lace thong and black silk stockings.
“The man’s definitely got taste.” Mysaria says, helping her into it.
They’ve had to boot up her laptop and look up the lingerie on the Agent Provocateur website in order to figure out the intricate series of straps and clasps, and she can’t help but notice the eye watering price that’s listed alongside it online. Fuck. There was no way Aemond wasn’t expecting to sleep with her.
She stands in front of her full-length mirror and runs her hands over her body, looking at the way her breasts sit within the cups of the bra and how the straps of the basque dip and flare with the natural curve of her waist and hips.
“It looks different on the model on the website.” She says nervously, chewing her lip. “What if Aemond doesn’t like it?”
Mysaria snorts derisively. “Girl, please, that model has been airbrushed to shit. You are real and you look hot as fuck. Daddy’s gonna lose his mind when he sees you in that.”
“You really think so?” She asks, turning slightly, still studying herself in the mirror.
Mysaria gives her a playful swat on the backside. “Oh, I know so. Now let’s finish getting you ready.”
Two hours later, her hair and make-up have been perfected by her flatmate, and she stands wearing the dress and shoes that Aemond had gifted her - she has done several practice laps of the living room in the heels, to ensure she doesn’t fall over - the lingerie is snug to her body underneath.
Her nerves disappear the moment Aemond steps out of the car to greet her. His long silver-blonde hair is loose. She has never seen it all down at once, it falls thick and lustrous, well past his shoulders. Yet another well-tailored black suit hugs the broadness of his shoulders and the length of his long legs.
Any uncertainty as to how she ought to say hello dissipates as he cups her jaw and presses a soft kiss to her lips.
“Hi.” He murmurs, keeping her close. “You look beautiful.”
“Hi yourself.” She whispers back. “You don’t look so bad either.”
He helps her into the passenger seat and the drive is spent in comfortable silence, though this time his hand lays a possessive hold on her knee whenever he’s not shifting gears. It leaves tingles across her skin in its wake and the gesture makes her feel lightheaded.
They pull up outside a restaurant called SOLA and Aemond takes her hand as he opens the car door for her.
“I took the liberty of choosing this place because it has a Michelin star. Never actually tried it myself.” He tells her as they walk in.
The dining room is small and intimate, elegantly decorated with an abundance of leafy green plants and sculptural lighting, but she is struck by the distinct lack of other diners.
“Why is no one else here?” She whispers to him as they’re ushered towards their table.
He smirks, watching her take in her surroundings with wide eyes once they are seated, his one seeing eye studies her closely. “I hired the place just for us for tonight. Wanted you all to myself.”
She giggles at that. Such a show off. She expects the food to be equally as flashy, a display of wealth for the sake of it. However, Aemond has ordered ahead of time for the both of them, with choices that suggest a more refined palate that goes beyond merely wanting to splash his cash.
They dine on Kindai bluefin tuna and oysters, paired with crisp white wine and the conversation flows as effortlessly as the wine.
She finds out that there isn’t much in the country from a business standpoint that the Targaryens and Hightowers don’t have a hand in. His father had worked to build an empire alongside his partners Otto and Daemon, prior to his death, and much of it has been left for his children to take care of now that he’s passed. Aemond oversees most of the legal aspects of the business, which is unsurprising to her considering how sharp his mind is.
He listens intently as she tells him more about her history degree and love of fine art. It saddens her when he tells her that originally he’d wanted to study history and philosophy, but had had to give that up to pursue a career in law when his family’s expectations were laid out to him.
It’s obvious there is an abundance of complexities and drama surrounding his family, but she knows better than to attempt to unpick all of that now, especially when the evening is going so well.
Her skin feels heated every time he reaches across the table to gently stroke the back of her hand with his thumb. His eye contact is intense and with every moment that passes she finds any apprehension she had about sleeping with him simply fading away. She wants him.
“Dessert?” He asks, as the meal draws to a close.
She shakes her head with a slight smile. “Couldn’t eat another bite.”
“A pity.” He says, taking her hand and tugging her from her seat towards him. “I’m still absolutely ravenous.”
“For what- oh!” She gasps as he sits her on the edge of the table in front of him, lifting the skirt of her dress to the side by its thigh slit.
He hums in approval as his eye roves over the bottom half of her lingerie. She feels like there isn’t enough air in the room, her heart hammers wildly against her ribcage as his hands run up and down her legs. His thumbs stroke the creases where her thighs meet her pelvis as he drinks her in.
“W-what if one of the waiters sees?” She asks nervously, squirming against the heat that pools between her legs.
“Well, I suppose we’d better put on a good show for them.” He tells her with a raise of his eyebrow.
He hooks two fingers into the lace of her thong, pulling it to one side before he leans forward, groaning appreciatively as the flat of his tongue strokes gently through her folds.
A soft moan escapes her. No one has ever taken the time or care to do this to her before, she is unsure of what she’s supposed to do in this situation, but the thought leaves her mind entirely as Aemond begins to flick his tongue against her bud before suckling it harshly. She leans back on her elbows as he devours her with his lips and tongue, doing her best to stifle her noises by biting her lip, her chest heaving with the effort to stay quiet.
Her hands fly to his head, burying themselves in his hair as she bucks against his face when he speeds up his movements. Sounds of enjoyment rumble in his chest, sending shockwaves all the way through her body, causing a telltale tightness to rapidly build within her lower belly.
She finally falls apart, shuddering atop the table with a strangled cry when uses the tip of his tongue to draw tight circles against the most sensitive part of her. He pulls away, his face shining with her slick as he lifts her underwear back into place. He grins, wiping his mouth with a napkin.
“You okay?” He asks.
She nods, feeling dazed. “Yeah…just…I need a minute.”
Aemond chuckles, smoothing her dress back into place. “Understandable.”
“That was…wow.” Is all she’s able to say once she feels lucid enough.
Aemond stands, helping her from the table. “The bill was taken care of in advance. Let’s head back to my place. I want to be somewhere where you don’t have to stifle those pretty noises you make.”
His hand sits higher on her thigh on the drive back. A mixture of nervousness and excitement has her pulse thrumming from thoughts of what he’ll do to her, of what he’s just done to her. Nobody had ever gone down on her before, but now Aemond has, and on top of a fucking restaurant table of all places.
Aemond lives in the penthouse of a modernised high rise. It’s minimalist. All of the fittings and furnishings are a combination of matte black and shiny silver chrome. It’s clean almost to the point of feeling sterile. It’s obvious he doesn’t spend a lot of time here.
She grins when she sees the elderly doberman raise her head from her bed as they walk through to the living room.
“You must be Vhagar.” She coos softly, kneeling and offering a hand for her to sniff. She scratches gently around the dog’s ears, giggling at the way she narrows her eyes in satisfaction, lifting her salt and pepper snout towards the ceiling.
“She’s not normally fond of strangers.” Aemond muses, as he kneels beside her, ruffling Vhagar’s head.
“The trick is to approach from their level and offer your hand before you try to touch.” She tells him. “Most animals that don’t like people just haven’t been approached by the right ones.”
He stares at her for a few moments, a small smile upon his lips, before he finally breaks the silence.
“Can I get you anything?” He asks, standing and walking towards the kitchen.
“I’m good, thanks.” She follows him and they hover by the kitchen island, simply looking at each other before he surges forward to kiss her.
The force of it feels like it knocks all the air from her lungs, it’s hungry and possessive and she returns it with equal enthusiasm, whimpering as her tongue meets his. He dominates the movement, his hand cupping the back of her head as he backs her into the bedroom.
She topples back onto the bed at his soft but insistent shove. Black sheets of a no doubt ridiculously high thread count feel like buttery silk around her as Aemond kneels before her to tug off her dress.
“Fuck.” He mutters as she lays before him in the lingerie he’d bought for her. “Yeah, we’ll be leaving this on. And these.” He grips the heel of her shoe, as he places a kiss to the inside of her ankle, before letting it drop again.
She watches, transfixed as he sheds his own clothing. Aemond is a work of art. His chest and abs subtly toned, he is all lithe, corded muscle, and she clenches at the sight of him. He is already hard when he strips all the way off, and nerves nibble away at her as she looks at the sheer size of him. Long and thick, lightly veined with a blush pink tip, her mouth waters slightly at the sight, yet there is a part of her that worries it might hurt. She had only ever slept with her ex before, and despite her inexperience she knew enough to know he wasn’t well endowed, nothing compared to this.
Aemond crawls over the top of her, trailing hot, open mouthed kisses to her neck and collarbones that make her writhe beneath him, each one sending warm ripples of arousal through her.
His fingers dip between her legs, pushing past her thong to stroke at her. “Shit,” He hisses. “Still so wet for me, I don’t even have to prepare you.”
He takes a condom from the nightstand, tearing it open and rolling it over the length of him before repositioning himself between her legs.
They both suck in a sharp breath as he begins to push inside, the stretch of him against her sensitive walls is both too much and not enough all at the same time.
“So fucking tight.” He grits outs, his grip on her hips vice like as he bottoms out.
He lays like that, forehead rested against hers as they both adjust, only daring to move his hips once she relaxes.
His strokes are smooth, even and precise, tapping a spot inside of her with every thrust that has her clutching his shoulders and moaning his name.
“Feels so good.” She mewls desperately as his hips piston against her own.
“Oh she likes that.” He hisses, almost mockingly, placing one of her legs over his shoulder and pounding harder into her.
Her eyes roll back at the sensation, her hands grip frantically at Aemond’s biceps and then the bedsheets beside her as he rubs at her clit with his thumb in tandem with each of his thrusts.
“You gonna cum again for me, pretty girl?” He asks huskily. “I can feel you squeezing me.”
“Fuck!” Is all she’s able to cry out in response as she feels herself tighten and spasm around him, her back arching off of the bed with the force of the pleasure that washes over her.
Her own release triggers Aemond’s and he snarls, holding her tight against his chest as he stills and spills into the condom.
He pulls out, depositing it into the wastebin and pulls her into his arms.
She feels utterly spent, boneless and dazed in the wake of what she’s just experienced, but Aemond isn’t prepared to let her doze off just yet.
He moves down the bed, unbuckling each of her shoes and removes them. He ushers her to the bathroom with a firm tap to her thigh. Once she’s finished and settled back into bed with a glass of water, he begins to slowly unclasp each of the straps of her body suit, softly rubbing and kissing each of the indentations made by the bones of it as it falls away from her body.
“You’re gorgeous.” He whispers to her, stroking her hair as she drifts off to sleep.
She awakens the next morning, surprised at how refreshed she feels considering the events of the previous evening. She smiles to herself as she snuggles into the luxurious feeling plushness of the bed, thoughts of how good Aemond had made her feel playing on a loop in her mind. She is startled slightly when she rolls over to find his spot empty.
A note has been left on the bedside table.
Sorry, had to run. Have transferred you money for cab fare - A.
She sighs. She hadn’t expected breakfast in bed, but she can’t deny the sinking feeling in her stomach at the fact he hadn’t bothered to stick around. Rummaging through her things that lay scattered on the floor, she retrieves her phone to look at the time when she sees the banking app notification.
£5,000 from A. Targaryen. Her heart twists painfully in her chest. That wasn’t cab fare, it was payment for last night.
