In most works of fiction, the shap shifter is usually a evil villainous figure who deceives good people
Thank you for proving that it's not just fiction but reality as well
Uh... don't you literally shifted into a scary-looking dragon? So not cute by the way. Aren't you calling yourself out here as well?

glory and gore chapter 3: [i'd still kill you]
"I'm not sure why we're doing this," Aizawa says, looking out from the safety of one of the high windows of UA's main building. "UA doesn't accept applications for the hero course this late. She could just try next year."
"I know." Ryukyu says, walking up to his side and looking out of the window with her arms folded behind her back. "But I think this is important. I want you to see why she needs to be trained."
"And if she passes the test?"
"Maybe she gets into the hero course," Ryukyu says, which prompts a raised eyebrow from Aizawa, "but not 1-A."
"Class 1-B is full," Aizawa replies. "To make room for an extra seat would be letting everyone know we allow exceptions."
"You'll want to make an exception when you see this." Ryukyu tells him, and falls silent.
"That's for All Might, Neru and Vlad King to decide."
--
Cyn closes her eyes. Senses more than watches. Waits. Careful and precise, not like the overwhelming might and pain of the Solver.
Something crunches. Cyn runs a scan and makes sure everything is up to date. She still needs to update her Sudoku game. She won't update it, not ever, because if she does she loses her high score and any indicator that her game is still the same game she played online in Elliot Manor, thinking hard to beat J.
[I am Cyn] she broadcasts into the void, and picks up several responses.
Different serial designations. Different levels, blaring out their point scores, telling her their operating systems. One by one, red lights flicker and turn yellow, though the robots she's scheduled to fight are still after her, programmed for only one thing. Cyn stands still, senses more than watches, and waits carefully and precisely. She flicks out three fingers at her side, Solver symbol spinning into existence, giving her the options she can use. Cyn opts for making a knife first, grasping it tightly, not missing the oil splatter on the handle.
A level one moves first, and Cyn opens her eyes, throwing it at the highest speed she can. It impales itself in the robot's head-- and the thing doesn't even bleed.
"Oh," Cyn says in amazement. "Okay."
Cyn opts for the NULL instead.
--
"Underwhelming," Aizawa remarks, watching Cyn send a knife spinning towards the training robots. Midnight has since joined Ryukyu and Aizawa, watching from ground level in case Cyn needs to be stopped (a request by the little drone herself out of fear). "Impressive, but we already have students who can do both."
"It's weird, though," Midnight says through the headphones. "It can't be like her quirk, because there's no material or lipids to make it from. Hey, is that a--?"
Aizawa leans forward when he sees the dark space, darker than dark, standing out even as far below as Cyn is. She tosses it, and he's pretty sure that the robot it hit didn't just get exploded. He's pretty sure it just ceased to exist.
"That is dangerous," he says watching as what was metal collapses to the ground in a fount of what is now dark blood and flesh. "How many of those can she throw?"
"As far as we know, an infinite amount," Ryukyu suggests. "There is no limit to her power. She called it a planet eater. That's why we need to train her."
"Out of the question." Aizawa responds instantly. "I don't know what happened to you, but if that thing can eat planets, she needs to be on the heaviest quirk suppressants we have. What happens if one of our students gets hit by that thing?"
"The only way we could put her on quirk suppressants," Ryukyu tells him, "is if it was even a quirk at all."
--
[th-- Cyn spins, dodges, unfurls dark new h wings and tail, so bright, yellow, only it's not yellow like the Solver's exactly, more of a slightly lighter yellow for Cyn, mine] for the only worker drone stuck here, for the fighter who refuses to allow herself back into the Solver's grasp.
[me, m and she moves like wildfire, so fast her vision narrows to a tunnel and then she's popping back into existence to throw a NULL or and i] a knife or a sword at something, anything that moves, [ in snapping her neck around to get a full view so fast there's a crack and a new pe error flashes onto her vision about her neck joints, and that's when ified] she stops because there are actually two errors, one about her joints and one that she doesn't quite recognize but she does recognize the voice that plays with it.
[Pleased to meet you, again, CYN,] the Solver says in her mind. [Stop.]
Cyn hears something crack, and then her vision goes black, and she stumbles, collapsing to the ground as oil leaks from her shattered visor.
[PLEASE DON'T DO THIS]
[I'm helping you.]
[NO YOU'RE NOT]
Cyn calls out for help, placing a hand on her forehead as she grapples for control with the Solver, trying to stand up but falling back down, her not-quite-heart not-quite-engine running furiously, the feedback from all of her other senses suddenly too loud and overwhelming for her to process all of them right now, on her hands and knees on the concrete as she tries to get herself under control.
[Can't believe they're putting you to sleep for this] the Solver says. [You need an emotional support animal or something. Ooh, want me to use the rest of Tessa's body? I could try to put her back together for you.]
[WHY ARE YOU LIKE THIS TO ME]
[It's fun and you're a loser.]
[THAT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE JUST SAY IT OUTRIGHT]
[And also, I don't like watching losers.]
--
Scanner’s on the fritz,” V says through the walkie-talkie. “Can’t find a heat signal. It’s too cold out here to see– what were we looking for again?”
“Assuming Cyn is separate from the Solver,” Uzi tells her from where she’s sheltered in the ruins of an old human building that might have once been a skyscraper, “we’ll have to find the Solver itself. There were other squads out there besides you guys. If there’s even one remaining, then maybe we can get into their head and since I’m the new host the Solver might have to tell me what it’s done to Cyn. Assuming, of course, that Cyn was separate from the Solver and that the Solver is not also one of the hidden personalities in my brain.”
“In plain English,” V says, and Uzi groans loudly.
“Look for other disassembly drone,” she says like she’s talking to a small child, moving her hands back and forth even though V can’t see the motions, “Please Capture. Keep Mostly Intact. Find Solver Program. Or Cyn if you see her.”
“And why are we doing this again?” “Just do it,” Uzi half-snarls into the mic. “Please. I’ll let you eat anything else you find?”
“You bet,” V tells her, and shuts off the walkie-talkie.
Unfolding her wings, the Disassembly Drone leaps into the sky, keeping close to the ground in case she needs to dive and hide quickly, or if there’s anything out there. Nothing shows up on her scanners besides the blue blurs that are cold patches of snow or dark shadows that might once have been buildings or vehicles. V wouldn’t admit it, but she almost admires how the evidence of human existence remains despite the harsh conditions of Copper-9. J would probably start talking about how they were made or how much work the company put into them if she were here.
J.
V had liked the other drone– not as much as she wound up hating her, but oh well, things happened. The main thing she had an issue with was J’s insistence on loyalty to… to what? A dead human? A dead friend? Cyn was wearing Tessa’s skin. If it was even Cyn, and not the Solver manipulating them all over again by using Cyn’s voice and mannerisms.
“It’s not okay like this,” she remembers Tessa telling her once after she cut her hand. “You can’t repair on your own, and those wires are all exposed… Here, I’ll get some plastic, see if I can patch it together for you. Might wanna be careful, though, make sure no one sees.”
V misses the patch. It wasn’t a scar, not quite, but the piece Tessa had cut out and glued to her hand was… something of her own. It had vanished when her hand had mutated into… into that thing of Cyn’s creation, half razor-sharp claws and half flesh and with an open everseeing allseeing eye in the middle that glowed yellow not white and never blinked. It wasn’t added into her hand again when she was remade.
Her scanner picks up heat. V divebombs the source and goes on the heaviest offense she can, swinging her sword as she dives to make herself into a spinning ball of agony and death and pain, an angel with wings reflecting light and a harbinger of doom with a fanged grin that scares the hell out of anyone who sees it.
She has to stop her wild offense, however, when she realizes it’s just a discarded welding torch that’s still on. V picks it up, shuts it off, and observes it for a moment. There are claw marks and burn marks on it (sentinel usage, perhaps?) and it doesn’t seem to have been on for very long.
“Sparks!” she calls, and the red-eyed sentinel is crunching through the snow nearby in an instant. “Hold this for me.”
It takes it with surprisingly gentle teeth and follows her as she wades forward through the knee-high snow, the blizzard so thick she can’t even see the claws held out in front of her. She does, however, feel it when her claws hit something metal, and she switches them to regular hands to try and feel her way around whatever it is. V feels hinges, metal plates interlocking together smoothly, a door, something she can’t really recognize, and then winces when Sparky walks straight into it with a metallic clonk and steps back, shaking its head.
V pauses. The material feels… it feels like she should recognize it.
“Oh, robo-Jesus,” she mutters, stepping back. “This is a landing pod.”
She goes back to the thing she doesn’t recognize. It’s just a carving on the metal, nothing much, but as she traces out the lines, she recognizes a symbol and a name.
The Solver symbol.
And [ADMINISTRATOR:CYN] is right beside it in bold lettering.
“Uzi,” V says into the walkie-talkie. “I found something you’re not gonna like.”
--
Cyn is back in her head again.
Only instead of a small being pressed up against the edges of the Solver’s vision begging and pleading for a way out and being squeezed almost into nothingness constantly, she’s herself again, and the Solver is the faint spark of something not-quite-fully-aware in her head.
“I don’t want this,” she says to the dark everything, to the barest hint of light that lets her see her hands and nothing else, to the dust motes in the air. “I don’t want you.” she says to the Solver.
“Ugh,” it responds, voice quiet and nothing like the all-consuming mechanical sounds she would hear when it was addressing her. “You can change it. Just think of the furniture or whatever you want. You’re so–”
“GET OUT OF MY HEAD!” Cyn yells, then inhales sharply. That’s not something she’s ever done before. She’s a talk it out calmly type of person, a let’s work out our feelings over this type of person, not an I'm going to scream at you type of person.
“You’re so whiny.” the Solver continues like it didn’t just hear her. “Get over yourself. Loser. L. Ha-ha.”
Cyn hits the nonexistent mute button on the Solver and sighs in relief when it suddenly cuts off and she can’t hear it.
It’s different now that she’s been separated from it. Meaner. Less… playful. Maybe being assimilated into it is what made it possible to be defeated. Maybe its weaknesses were its remnants of just Cyn, not ADMINISTRATOR:CYN or USER_CYN. Weaknesses it doesn’t have now.
Now to figure out where she is and how she can get out of her head. Cyn takes a deep breath and sits down, crossing her legs, letting her head flop to the side and not trying to push it up again. Meditative and calm, that's her. The Solver she pushes out of her head entirely, the emptiness a little scary but also welcoming now that she's the one in charge and the stupid program can't even run in the background. The space inside her brain is nowhere like where she goes when she's shutting down for sleep, and it frightens her a little bit, but she puts some melodic chirping of birds and pleasant thunder crashing on in the background and concentrates on figuring it out.
"Concentrating," she narrates. "Concentrating." And then, eyes blinking back open, she manages a smile. "Brain blast."
The space vanishes and winks out as she compresses it down to the [NULL] mentally and shatters it. She regrets it soon after, though, when she realizes her body has shut down, and then everything goes black.
title is taken from a nostalghia song lol. go listen to it
this one is a little bit shorter because I was really struggling with it and the length wasn't helping so I cut out some parts to make it better. dw we'll get into the meat next chapter
also yes midnight's quirk can affect her! cyn has partially organic parts as a result of the solver's interference. same goes for uzi and the other solver hosts like doll or nori. according to this fic at least
messy text is intentional and appears whenever the solver is trying to take over and overload their brain with its thoughts

PHOENIX AU: Fun Facts
hey y’all, sorry for being MIA. I got sick when I went on vacation but I’m home now! No idea how frequently I will be posting but I will be spending the next several months forcing myself to write so yeehaw. Anyway here’s some PHOENIX fun facts about some characters from my fanfiction lifeblood (PHOENIX: A Pro Hero Toya Todoroki AU) that I posted on my Instagram @the_sakura_garnet a while back
(includes some references to BNHA OC's that I have that are in PHOENIX and it's prequel)
MATURE AUDIENCES ONLY
PHOENIX AU Toya Todoroki Fun Facts
Miyuki Sero made a bet with him during their second year involving Everclear, and it's the closest Toya's ever come to getting alcohol poisoning. Miss Kaminari forced him to clean the common room for two months as punishment
He can do the entire Ludacris rap in "Baby" by Justin Bieber
Has only cried a handful of times because of movies. Most of those times have been movies he's watched with his sister. But he'll never admit it
He and Natsuo crashed a sled into their father's car one winter, and proceeded to blame five year old Shoto for it...who was inside...with Enji...the entire time.
He has keyed the cars of all his sister's exes
PHOENIX AU Keigo Takami Fun Facts
Has sponsors from literally every place that sells chicken, but KFC is his place of choice
For one of their first dates, Keigo forced Toya to come along on a search for the "perfect chicken tender" where they ordered from every place and they ranked all of them. Led to a lot of arguments that left both of them crying from laughing so hard about how passionate the other was about their opinion
He owns several matching/complementing outfits with Rumi from their shopping spree days at the academy, and some of them are dresses
If he has the AUX there will be Broadway tunes, Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, or classic rock ONLY. With minimal exceptions
He's always playing "I Wanna Party" from Rio unironically when he's getting ready in the morning and has developed a whole song and dance routine to it. occasionally, Toya will do the second verse if he's awake and Rue will do the female vocals. There have been several early dance parties at the PHOENIX Agency, and it's a pain for collaborating heroes when they have to travel team-up for missions
PHOENIX AU Rumi Usagiyama Fun Facts
She's a black belt in taekwondo, judo, Krav Maga, and generally kicking ass (BONUS: She has a trophy that says "best at kicking ass" that Toya had made for her as a birthday gift)
She feels guilty for being cold and mean to Toya for so long before they became friends, but she doesn't know how to approach him about it (even though he's left that all behind and doesn't hold it against her)
Her favorite workout playlist artists are Nicki Minaj, Doja Cat, and Megan Thee Stallion
Midnight helped her come to terms with her sexuality with her confidence and unapologetic expression
She's double-jointed, has never taken a steroid (contrary to popular belief in the tabloids), and prides herself on being healthy
PHOENIX AU Ryuko Tatsuma Fun Facts
Her mother used to make her do beauty pageants/contests, and she would win flawlessly every time
She was born into a very wealthy family, but ironically didn't let her riches go to her head until reaching fame
During school, she occasionally ate edibles to calm her nerves as she would obsess over her grades, which is why her parties always had them
She constantly showers Rumi with extravagant gifts, but Rumi considers Ryuko the greatest gift of all
(Not so fun fact and SPOILER) she left Rumi for Uwabami when she dumped her in Chapter 40
PHOENIX AU Shinji Nishiya Fun facts
During their entire first year, Shinji was absolutely terrified of Toya because of their Quirk incompatibility (fire and wood don't mix)
He secretly had a slight crush on Rumi for a couple years, which is another reason why Yu never liked Rumi
He and Amari used to make conspiracy boards in the common room whenever they got high
He has acted as a getaway driver for a number of Toya's antics (he's the only person that doesn't make Toya carsick when he drives)
He scored the highest in Hero/Civilian/Villain Psychology during their Second and Third Years

Would you please write for some of the Pro Heroes in a situation where their s/o (reader) gets out of surgery and is so absolutely zooted that they don't recognize their partner, but flirt aggressively with them. Basically like that video of the guy who wakes up from surgery and starts hitting on his wife and then is thrilled to learn that they're actually married.
Pro Heroes x Reader Headcannons
Drugged Confessions
You had been in surgery and had finally gotten out of it. When you had woken up, you were still under the affects of the anesthesia and were a little loopy. You saw a handsome man/beautiful woman sitting in a chair next to your bed. You knew you couldn’t pass up the chance to ask them out so you tried your best to flirt with them. Here’s how each Pro Heroes interaction goes.
Aizawa:
Reader: hi handsome
Aizawa: hi (y/n)
Reader: *gasp* you know my name?
Aizawa: of course I do
Reader: did you sit on a pile of sugar, cause you’ve got a sweet ass
Aizawa: *chuckles* you’re cute, go back to sleep
Reader: only if you sleep with me
Aizawa: alright *climbs into the bed with you*
All Might:
Toshinori: darling, you’re awake
Reader: hello
Toshinori: hi
Reader: are you butt dialing, cause I swear that ass is calling me
Toshinori: *spits out blood* (y/n)!
Reader: what’s the chance I can get in your pants?
Toshinori: (y/n) please now is not the time for this
Present Mic:
Hizashi: good afternoon darling
Reader: hello handsome
Hizashi: why thank you beautiful
Reader: there’s something wrong with my bed, you’re not in it
Hizashi: well then let’s fix that *crawls in bed with you*
Best Jeanist:
Best Jeanist: you’re awake, how are you feeling?
Reader: I’m good
Best Jeanist: that’s good to hear
Reader: nice shirt, can I talk you out of it?
Best Jeanist: when we get home maybe, but not right now
Reader: then take me home
Hawks:
Reader: are you an angel?
Hawks: no
Reader: I think you might be my angel
Hawks: aww you’re still loopy, I’m so gonna record this *takes out phone and starts recording you*
Reader: do you have any streaming services? Cause I wanna Netflix and chill, Hulu and do you, IMAX and climax, Amazon Prime and nasty time
Hawks: *laughing* oh? Tell me more.
Reader: I’m not a baker, but I’ll stay up late with you to make a cream pie
Hawks: well beautiful, your face is a work of art, we should frame it with my legs
Reader: *blushes* yes
Midnight:
Nemuri: I see you’re awake
Reader: I am now gorgeous
Nemuri: we’ll aren’t you sweet
Reader: I’d like to use your thighs as earmuffs
Nemuri: once you’re better you can
Ryukyu:
Reader: who are you, pretty lady?
Ryukyu: did you forget who I am?
Reader: no… I know that four plus four equals eight, but you plus me equals fate.
Ryukyu: That’s cute sweetie
Reader: nooo… you’re cute
Ryukyu: well I’m already taken, sorry
Reader: noooooo… by who
Ryukyu: by you

Hey man!
If you’re still doing My Hero Academia requests, I was wondering if you’d write for Ryukyu getting possessive over her boyfriend.
[Ryukyu crossing her arms, an annoyed expression on her face, her dragon-like eyes narrowing]
Ryukyu : Who was that girl you were talking to earlier? She seemed a bit too friendly for my liking....
M!Reader : Chuckles.... She's just a coworker Ryukyu, we were just discussing a project, nothing more, I promise
[Ryukyu's tone still firm]
Ryukyu : You know I trust you, but that doesn't mean I like others getting too close to you...
Ryukyu : Friendly or not, they need to know their place, You're not up for grabs, I don't like sharing what’s mine, especially not you...
M!Reader : Chuckles.... You know I only have eyes for you, right? You don't need to get jealous, No one could ever take me away from you
[Ryukyu relaxing a bit, a small smile breaking through her stern expression]
Ryukyu : Good, Because if anyone tries to take you away from me, they'll have to deal with a protective dragon...
[Ryukyu starts smirking teasingly and kissing Y/N's cheek making a tint of blush on his face]
Ryukyu : Dragons are known to be territorial after all~

I have an hc that it common for pro heros to donate toys and neccerties to those in need around christmas (and maybe other big holiday) some do it just from goodnes of thier heart while other do it in hope to improve thier approval rating (Endeavor). It became such a big thing that you look like ass if you didnt and was in top 20. I would think Ryuku, Mandalay and Fatgum is one of the best at picking out gifts for kids to enjoy. Hawks struggles hard to come up with something to donate to kids and when people told him, "pick something you would like as a kid" all he wanted as a kid was a stable home and family... and he can't really donate that. So he just endup buying some stuffed animals and clothing. Best jeanist at least once donated a sewing machine for kids beacuse "It both fun and teach you a uselful skill" while Edgeshot just boight a ninja type toys beacuse duh. Endeavor just bought toys he knew he proably should actally gotten his kids growing up...
Anyways merry christmas and happy holidays

the MHA epilogue pissed me off ESPECIALLY the hero rankings like they gave bakugo the short hand of the fucking STICK and it's genuinely so heartbreaking to watch. Anyways, I have to spill my guts before I explode so here's my headcanon of a tentative hero ranking that I think is more fitting than that other nonsense xx
HERO RANKING (revised edition)
Deku (Izuku)
LeMillion (Mirio)
Dynamight (Bakugo)
Shoto (Todoroki)
Rabbit Hero (Mirko)
Best Jeanist (Hakamada)
Mt. Lady (Takeyama)
Kamui Woods (Shinji)
Fat Gum (Taishiro)
Tentacole (Shoji)
Nejire-Chan (Nejire)
Uravity (Uraraka)
Ingenium (Iida)
Red Riot (Kirishima)
Gale Force (Inasa)
Tsukuyomi (Tokoyami)
Suneater (Tamaki)
Ryukyu (Ryuko)
Froppy (Asui)
Creati (Momo) / Battle Fist (Kendo) [the two often fluctuate from holding this spot]

glory and gore: ch 1
where Cyn wakes up somewhere unfamiliar. chapter below the divider.
Earth and Copper-9 had been very definitely destroyed. Rendered uninhabitable for humans, at least. For robots that don't bleed and thrive in the cold and sometimes host magical and destructive and ever-hungry world-ending entities, it's like a paradise once you count out the extreme trauma and emotional journeys and character arcs that come with hosting magical and destructive and ever-hungry world-ending entities. And unfortunately, there are quite a few of said robots who have been on Copper-9 and host magical and destructive and ever-hungry world-ending entities. And none of them have ever felt anything besides cold snow, rain, or if they're unlucky, the harsh metal-melting sunlight that sometimes pierces through the deep clouds surrounding both planets. And yet, Copper-9 and the remains of Earth are all that's safe. New places are very definitely dangerous and uncharted territory besides.
One can see why Cyn (Cyn Elliot? Cyn Solver? She'll come back to that later) might be apprehensive about getting up from wherever she's suddenly woken up in a setting she doesn't recognize. One thing is clear: this isn't Elliot Manor. It's too warm for Elliot Manor, and the gentle breeze that rustles through her hair is too nice to be Elliot Manor. It also can't be the pile of bodies marked for disposal she once was buried in for reasons stated above. And it can't be the dark empty space pressed up against the wild and unforgiving expanse of the Absolute Solver's consciousness she's come to know and dread.
No, this must be someplace different. But if it isn't Elliot Manor or the body pile or the Solver's consciousness it must be Copper-9, but she's very sure Copper-9 is too dark and windy and snowy to be warm with a gentle breeze, and the parts of it that aren't snowy are harsh and burning and would probably melt the wires from her bones. Cyn thinks about it for a momen, calculates how likely she is to open her eyes and be disappointed. Her calculations come back with a high chance of being disappointed and that disappoints Cyn, so she asks herself a quick question.
WWND?
She repeats it over in her head. WWND? WWND? What Would N (her big brother, the only one who didn't want her gone when she suddenly shut down thanks to something going wrong, her friend, made in the same batch as her and V and J) Do?
Cyn knows what her big brother would do. He'd open his eyes. He'd get up even if he was disappointed. He'd look for something fun to do, or someone to talk to, and he'd keep a positive outlook and an optimistic demeanor and if worst came to worst, well, he had a few games he could play to pass the time. And Cyn wants to do the same, but she's scared. So, so scared that she'll open her eyes only to feel the darkness of the Absolute Solver once more, or be faced with the disapproving stares of guests and visitors to the manor, or something worse. She doesn't know what worse is yet, but she can imagine.
Reluctantly, slowly, Cyn opens her eyes, holographic ovals that are more yellow than white blinking into being on the screen that takes up a little over half her face.
She sees blue sky. And clouds, clouds that look soft but also look so close she could reach out and touch them. And brightness, a brightness that she suddenly realizes is the sun, and there is green grass around her. Green! Not black and dead like the manor lawn, and a bright blue expanse of atmosphere that is nothing like the stormy sky she had known for so long where the only light came from lightning--
Cyn picks up her left hand using her right arm and slaps herself just to check if this is all real. Her vision fuzzes, reloads, and she sees the very same thing she did before. She can't believe it. This can't be real. This can't be real. This can't be real. She's almost tempted to pinch herself or do something even more drastic. Like trying to harness the Solver once more. But that's a dangerous endeavor, and she doesn't want to doom another planet if it tries to take over again. So without relying on the Solver to guide her or help from her big brother, Cyn tries to stand up.
The first time, she doesn't even manage to get her chest off the ground, and she falls back down with a grunt. But she tries again. And she doesn't even lift her head off the ground before it clunks back down again. But she tries again. And this time, using her arms for balance, she sits up. And now that she's sitting, she can get to her feet with a little luck. She tries as hard as she can and collapses the second her knees are almost steady and falls back down.
But she tries again.
And again.
And again, until her visor is scratched from several attempts and she's in a heap on this beautiful field of grass with the gentle breeze blowing through her hair under a blue sky.
But Cyn gathers up her courage, and tries again.
And this time, finally, she gets her feet under her and hobbles a few steps forward, hands held out in front of her awkwardly, looking around and trying to process it all, though she's pretty sure her CPU isn't enough to take this all in at once. She looks down at where she's standing, in the middle of a dark path with a yellow line through it, glinting faintly in the sun. Is it asphalt? Cyn's only seen roads in stock pictures. She takes a moment to stare at it, looking down, and then looks up again as she hears a whistling through the air.
That's when the car hits her.
--
Spinner's pretty sure he was just on track to run some kid over. Tiny stature and an unwillingness to run when faced with a metal death box usually mean a kid. He's not sure if Stain would have liked the running over a kid business. Right now, he's also not sure why they've stopped dead.
"My foot is on the gas pedal!" he exclaims when Dabi and Shigaraki both practically vault over the seat in the back to yell at him over it. He swears he saw Shigaraki reach for him. "We're on a full tank of gas! It's not my fault!"
"Must be one of those heroes chasing us," Shigaraki snarls, pure disgust in the way he spits out the words. The hand on his face covers his expression, but Spinner can guess what the expression is. Not a pretty picture, especially for someone with no sense of self-care at all. Even Spinner knows to drink water and keep his scales and skin hydrated, and he's even thought about investing in whatever hair-care brand Toga uses, it sure keeps her hair clean, or maybe it's just because she washes it more than once a month--
"Who is that?" Dabi asks, and Spinner snaps out of it, staring through the cracked windshield. The kid is still there. Standing. On second thought, maybe it's not a kid- just a short person with some sort of robotic quirk. Mutant or transformation, maybe? The kid-- robot person can't be a hero, not with the way they're standing there staring blankly, one yellow oval he assumes is an eye blinking ever so often and the empty space taken up by some sort of hexagon with three arrows instead of another oval eye.
Suddenly he sees the kid get yanked out of the way by a dark scarred hand and the car shoots off like a rocket, Spinner nearly slamming into the back of the seat before he can spin and brake so Dabi can hop back in and leave the kid behind. The heroes were right on their tail before, and Ryukyu's team complete with internship students are fast, though she might have dropped the kids to go faster. Or she could have dropped the kids so they didn't get hurt, so they have to go. Now. As soon as possible. Spinner takes off when Dabi is barely inside, leaving him to balance awkwardly on the edge of staying in the car or falling out in favor of evacuating the scene even faster than they planned to.
They really do not need another attack on a kid on their record right now. Definitely not after the USJ attack or the summer camp.
Though there's something weird about the fact that kid's quirk was able to stop them like that-- if it was even a kid at all.

"Ow." Cyn says. "Ow. Ow."
Really, it's not her fault she fell over when she got dragged away and left behind. It is also not her fault that she cannot regain control of her body now that it is on the asphalt and her head keeps clunking down hard onto solid rock and not soft dirt. She's trying anyway, though. That's what N would do. WWND? He'd keep trying. So Cyn keeps trying.
It's a very lackluster attempt, though. She's tired. Weirdly tired. Before the Solver, all she did was enter sleep mode in some dark closet somewhere and recharge over a six-hour period. After the Solver, she didn't need to sleep. Within the Solver, she was eternally awake in a torturous state of half-aware, half-dreaming. Cyn reckons she must be back at Before, but she should probably check how much she's charged (and come to think of it, if there are any wounds on her that she can't feel) so she runs some diagnostics quickly.
The results are dismaying.
CHARGE: 1% (SLEEP MODE WILL AUTOMATICALLY ACTIVATE IN 5 MINUTES)
BODILY STATUS: JOINT DISCONNECT IN [neck, arm L, knees L/R, wrist R] VISUAL FUNCTIONS IMPAIRED [ultraviolet scanning, item identification] SOFTWARE UPDATE NEEDED: PATCH 2.0 (DOWNLOAD HERE)
NEW SUDOKU UPDATE REQUIRED: YEAR OF THE HORBEARAGON GAME VERSION (VER 4.5)
"God-mn it," Cyn says out loud, one of her eyes twitching. Maybe she should download that patch. Maybe it might let her say words she knows are being censored by her vocal synthesizer. Maybe it is another of the Solver's traps. Maybe it is a reference to the patch that should let her control the Solver rather than it controlling her and reducing her to a puppet on strings.
Strings she could really use now that she can't pick herself up from the ground at all.
A dark shadow passes over her, and Cyn blinks away from the diagnostic results to look up at the sky. There's nothing she can see and the shadow is gone, but she swears it was there just a second ago like a multiply layer right over the surrounding area. Cyn turns her head to the right, turns her head to the left once, and finds nothing.
Human, she thinks, a human I've never seen before.
Cyn shuts down.

[SYS STATUS: CONKED TF OUT]
[REINITIALIZING]
Cyn sits up with a start. A quick scan of the area reveals a dark plush couch, several nice windows, a floor that looks metal, shiny and cold, and a spiral staircase going up somewhere so far she can't tell where it leads, and a blue (?) human female with blue hair and strangely modern clothing a little ways away talking a woman in a dark red dress with blond hair who looks very suited for Elliot Manor. She has half a mind to locate the nearest serving platter and present it to the woman before she remembers that her servant programming only extends to the people in the manor, not out of it.
She tests out her hands and arms quickly and quietly. There's still some issues in the way her joints flop and stay stubbornly stiff, but she seems to be a little better at moving them right now, and she feels lighter overall. And the patch must have been downloaded while she was sleeping because her item identification is back online and a lot of the messy files she has downloaded have been reorganized alphabetically instead of by last opened. Cyn checks her shutterstock image folder for the dogs and finds that all the images are there. Good-- she'll need it if she wants to reach back out to her brother and say hey without scaring him half to death.
She glances over at the two women and activates her item identification. Neither one comes back with any matching results, but they must have names, so Cyn just assumes that she must be disconnected from the international ID database storage and connects to wifi to find them somewhere in there. Everyone in Elliot Manor had an ID of some kind, even Tessa and the kids-- surely they must be online somewhere.
She runs the quick password guesser for the wifi and gets it on her six hundred and eighty-seventh try, an all-time record for this program considering she wrote it herself and it can only guess about a hundred passwords per second. Which is nothing compared to the one V wrote about a year before the Solver that could do a thousand every half-second. There are perks to being a literal computer.
The blue one comes back as a "Bubble Girl" and the woman in the red dress comes back as a "Ryukyu." Those are not names she has ever heard before. Cyn quickly asks herself What Would N Do to make sense of the situation, and pretty quickly guesses that he'd introduce himself so they'd introduce themselves in turn.
"Hi." Cyn says, putting a pleasant smile on her face and waving with one hand. She would wave with both, but her other hand is currently supporting her head and stopping it from falling onto her shoulder.
This catches their attention. Either it's the extremely modified and clunky sound of her voice, or it's the suddenly being awake, but they both look surprised for a second before hiding it. Ryukyu takes a few long strides toward her, and Cyn is suddenly very aware of the two sets of eyes on her. She doesn't like being watched by someone who's not in the conversation because usually they're writing down her weird oddities so they can ask Tessa's parents to put her back in the body disposal pile where she belongs.
"I'm glad you're awake," Ryukyu says, bending down to talk to Cyn. Even sitting up on a sofa, she's still very short. "You were out for a full twelve hours. It's eight in the morning now... how are you feeling?"
"Charged," Cyn says, and refocuses on the woman in front of her. "Cyn at your service." She grabs her right wrist with her left hand and holds it out for Ryukyu to shake, even though her head flops onto her shoulder without the support. If Ryukyu is at all disturbed by that, she doesn't show it, shaking Cyn's hand like she is an equal and not a servant. Cyn mentally commends Ryukyu for the amount of effort that must take.
"Well, Cyn," Ryukyu says with a smile gentler than anything Cyn has ever seen before, "can you answer a few questions for us? We just want to help you out since there's no identification on you, and we want to make sure you can get home safely."
"Okee," Cyn says, and shuffles up from the couch. She has to walk slowly, but Ryukyu seems to have no issue with that as she leads her over to the bubble girl.
"Alright, I'm letting your agency take over this," Ryukyu says. "Just send a message to me when you're done."
"Alright!" the bubble girl says, and Cyn immediately recognizes the hardworking and energetic demeanor she saw in J when the other drone was trying to impress higher-ups, only this girl's performance doesn't seem as fake. She keeps herself from saying that out loud, though, because she doesn't know what reaction the girl will have, or if she'll recognize the name J. Cyn doesn't know if the Disassembly Drones struck this planet too, or if they escaped unscathed.
Ryukyu smiles once more at Cyn, and then leaves. The bubble girl doesn't say anything until she's out the door, then turns to Cyn.
"Hey," she says with a reassuring smile, "The guy in charge of this whole show isn't here right now, but one of the guys I work with is here! You'll love him- he's really funny."
Cyn doesn't hear much of that sentence. What she does hear is "isn't here right now."
Oh, J's not here right now.
Uzi's not here.
Nine words spoken with her voice and some of her personality in them too. Nine words and two sentences that are all too familiar to the words that just came out of the bubble girl's mouth.
"Right." Cyn says, and tries not to let her nervousness show, though she thinks the eyes on her visor might be giving her away. "Um. Who is he?"
"His name's Mirio," the bubble girl says, "but he'll probably introduce himself to you as Lemillion, 'cause that's his professional name. He stops by early every Saturday to talk to Nighteye and help out a little, since he likes the extra experience... I think he's in the office right now, but he'll be along shortly! Oh, and I'm Bubble Girl."
Cyn makes sure a question mark flickers onto her visor in place of eyes. "Do you guys need professional names?"
"Of course!" the-- wait, just Bubble Girl says, "we're heroes, after all. Even if everyone knew our real names, having something flashy to call us is... honestly kinda fun, but since our real names are kept pretty secret, it's part of the disguise. Do you come from a place with none of them? Heroes, I mean."
Cyn thinks about her answer for a moment. She isn't suspicious, per se, but something about the girl rubs her the wrong way, and she doesn't want to give away too much information about herself or about the world-ending entity she may or may not have inside of her. So she answers after a moment of consideration, "I come from a place where a select few work against evil, but not many have the power to do so."
Bubble Girl seems satisfied with that answer.
The two of them make idle small talk while they wait for Mirio to show up from wherever he is, and the only thing Cyn really takes note of is that a lot of people have power beyond normal human limits. Not like the Solver with its ability to create black holes and make objects out of thin air, but not like superheroes from the manor's children's books either. Something different. And that there are some schools that teach you to harness those powers properly to protect others, one that Bubble Girl is a graduate of. Cyn would be lying if she said she wasn't interested in one of those schools. But she doesn't want to learn to control the Solver just to protect others from these villains, this darkness that she knows will be found lurking in dark alleyways and sometimes out in the open.
No. She has to learn to control it to protect others from herself.
