I saw @grilledcheese-aspiration's Open/Closed Business Signs, and I wanted to use them as a base to make a quick medieval default.

Posting over here as they are admittedly done quick, but I wanted a more "Maxis Match" feel.

Moyo's Great Big Afterglow Default Project

HOORAH! 🥳Finally I can share with you guys! There's a lot to get through here so some notes beforehand.

There are way, way too many hairs to list and people to credit. See everything that's included and who all deserves credit in the spreadsheet I made for this project!

Not every hair is replaced! I don't know much about hidden clone hairs, for example. Some of them are replaced if the default I used as a base included them but most probably are not.

I chose to hide a bunch of the OFB hats and whatnot when I was starting to get burnt out of this project. See what hairs I've hidden on the hiders tab of the spreadsheet. Hiders are not included, but there's a link to them.

There's a few defaults I'm using from loosiap, rudhira and seabens. They are not included, see those in the defaults by others tab of the spreadsheet.

I use a bunch of no/random npc hair mods so not all npc hairs are replaced. See those in the no/random npc tab of the spreadsheet.

I use custom turn ons that change the one for hats so a lot of the hat hairs are replaced with non-hat hairs. I think most of the flags in simpe are changed to non-hat too but not positive - some might still be hat flagged.

Defaults where all I did was change the texture that didn't contain extra ages include them in a separate file because I didn't want to add them to the main file and mess anything up. Defaults done by me have them included in the main file.

Nearly every default has extra ages, but a few do not.

The Notes column of the spreadsheet mostly contains notes I wrote for myself regarding the custom versions of hairs I retextured (which will all be uploaded) but some of them do apply to the default too. I'm so brain fried though so I'm leaving it in the sheet. You can generally ignore - or read them if you want!

Defaults are in their own folders, and include a pic of the hair they're replacing and a pic of what they're replaced with...if the kind people on the default database are bored.

I'd never made a default replacement for hair before this so if any of these are not made in the best, most optimal way, apologies. I was learning as I went!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE reach out if you notice any wonkiness. This was worked on over 3 of the most stressful months of my life so I'd not be surprised if I screwed anything up. Also if I forgot to mention anything in this post that you'd like to know, don't hesitate to ask that too!

Aoife's Maxis Match Face Templates UPDATED.

Now less gendered, more consistent between ages, and with baby faces! More info and a bunch of pictures below.

Finally, after months, I have finished these. A long time ago now, I'd made my original templates but didn't really pay any mind to how gendered faces really are, and how inconsistent they are between each age. I love the Maxis faces, I just wanted them to look a little less lumpy, and to replace ones that I felt were redundant. Basically, I hated that with any given template, I couldn't really tell what a sim was going to look like as an adult because every face looked different at each stage!

So today I bring to you my less gendered Maxis Match templates, where I have chosen which face I felt was more iconic and matched the other gender with it, and then made every age look more like that template (including baby faces).

Martin Ruben can be a good example:

Yeah, sure, the eyes are the same, but that's pretty much where the likeness ends. A lot of the templates will do this, and some of the female faces suffered for it (jaws were outlawed on females in 2004, didn't you know?)

They aren't perfect but they're miles better than the originals! I also think they bring a lot more variety to faces, because I did notice that a lot of the templates would use face parts from entirely different templates! Face 2's eyes and face 1's nose are really popular, as well as yeeting jaws and chins out the window.

I think I had face blindness from doing so many of these faces at the same time because faces 8 & 10 ended up looking too similar, so I have updated face 8!

Sims 2 Neighbourhood Pine Forest Defaults!

Hey friends, so I made these aaaages ago and never got around to uploading them because I was using things from other creators and wanted to make sure I had permission to share... and now, I do!

Lowedeus made these beautiful Shastakiss CS Pine Tree conversions into default replacements for the single hood pines HERE, with lovely seasonal snowy states.

I simply took their work, played in Blender and applied it to the pine forests, which I hadn't been able to find a good default replacement for. More pictures, technicals and download under the cut.

Technical Stuff:

I have slightly tweaked some of Lowedeus's original files, so I have included them in this download. Please let my files overwrite the originals or your trees might be funny coloured.

The forests pull their textures from the individual trees, so you will need to have all of the defaults in your game for them to work.

All credit for these goes to @shastakiss for the original conversions with snowy states, @lowedeus for those original, beautiful defaults that I have been using for years, and also shoutout to @lordcrumps who assisted me with creating these defaults and troubleshooting when the tree colours weren't right 😅❤️

Tristan-sims 4t2 Road Default Replacement with Criquette's Rural Charm (+ Snow-Fixed + Bridge)

I made some road replacements for myself and I thought I might as well share it in case someone finds my DR useful. This is an edit of Tristan-sims 4t2 Road Default Replacement. I wanted it to match @criquette-was-here Rural Charm (Lush) terrain. There is two versions, one with heavy snow on the sidewalks, and one with minimal (regular amount) of snow. (See above). Choose only one. Road overlays is included. There is one optional overlay set if you choose to have the heavy snow version.

The original files didn't have snow on the roads in lot view, so I I fixed the road replacement so the textures for light snow shows correctly. I used textures from @tvickiesims's "Heavy Snow DR Texture" for the heavy snow version. I recommend downloading it to match the roads if you pick this version.

I use @dreadpirate's (old) lighting mod so the colours may look different If you use maxis lighting or another lighting mod. The roads look kind of weird in dusk/dawn (especially in spring), but It is an old game and I don't think there is much to do about it. I think It looks better than the original roads though.

Note: Criquette's Rural Charm Overlays is not compatible with the heavy snow overlays (optional). It wont' work properly if you have both.

I use Voeille's "No More Blurriness" for snow replacement in lot mode.

I also added the road textures to the neighbourhood bridges, originally by @tvickiesims / @criquette-was-here. (This is optional).

I have Ultimate Collection on PC. I don't know how many packs is required for this to work. Consider yourself a tester If you don't have all the packs.

Animals & Animals - 50 Sheep & Sheep Recolors + Default Replacement

Hi everyone! I hope you're all doing well! I guess it's been a hot minute lol. I'm not quite ready to officially come out of hiatus yet, but I saw it was TS2's birthday so here's a little something to celebrate. :)

These were requested about a billion years ago, but I can't find the message now, so I hope they reach the requester! 😅 These are 50 animal-themed recolors for the Sheep & Sheep painting. There is also a default replacement (recolor 32 on the swatch). If you already have the DR from my Bugs & Bugs recolors, you'll need to pick one!

I don't know why the swatch is so gritty; I've been back for twenty-two seconds and Tumblr is already screwing with me lol

Animals are from this pack by Freepik over at Ye Olde Flaticon. The rest of the icons used are also by Freepik! Many thanks as always! I used Fantasy Floss, Dark Fantasy and Autumn Valley for the artwork colors, and colors from The Woods are Lovely for the frames.

As always, if you'd rather have a different DR, please let me know and I'll add it as an alternative. My response time will probably be a little lackluster; we're short-staffed at the library right now, and it's a much crazier job than I expected (not complaining! I love it).

And of course, if I borked anything, please let me know! I'm definitely out of practice. 😅

VVQB'S Default Skintone 2025

Okay so these are just these skins I did a good three years ago with the following changes:

Stripped it down to the essentials - S1-4, a pale swatch, and a darker swatch

Retained S0, S1, S4, and S5 skintone colors

Replaced S2 with the S2.5 tone from @serabiet's original skins and made the face changes the same as the edits I did of io's skins

Made S3 a little lighter than my old default, but still darker than standard Maxis. The previous s3 made blonde eyebrows disappear too much

Changed the alien skintone from green to mint [including the blue gums and tongue]

Added teeth from @microscotch's woohoo on the beach redux

added the tongue texture from @sixfootsims's moonfruit skinblend

Eye texture is also from io

The file contains

S1-S4 defaults

a pale skintone loosely based on trapping’s pale dust swatch, uses the same file as the 2021 version of this skin

a darker skintone based on the Castaway Stories dark skintone (uses the same package as Jawusa's edit)

I tend to use overlays for my other supernaturals so no defaults for the other types, but I will do a genie default once I get my eye defaults sorted

More Connol Sightings

I went back to watch scenes with background crowds and found that the Connol model seems to be only used in the Last Drop (under Vander) and the Bridge scenes (excluding S2 AU).

So we'll start at the beginning.

Opening Scene

Lowkey he got that cake Anyway. It's interesting that for a guy never officially introduced in the show, he has 3 different outfits: miner uniform (Remember Me), default outfit (Remember Me & BG appearances in TLD), and this - the Day of Ash outfit.

Instead of the turtleneck, he's wearing some sort of vest over a tank top. His right arm warmer is replaced by a black arm ribbon wrap thing like young Silco and an arm brace on the left wrist like Felicia and these accessories are not present in his default outfit.

We should also take into account that this guy may also be a different background character entirely who just happens to reuse Connol's assets (the hat, the utility belt and pouch). There is a minor difference with dead Connol (wearing arm warmer but no arm ribbon wrap) and running Connol (wearing arm ribbon wrap but no arm warmer).

But I'd like to think that's still him. It's much sadder to think that Connol was right beside Silco when he threw the molotov. Heck maybe that's why he died first. Remember this?

Maybe after the molotov was thrown, Connol saw an enforcer coming. Maybe his first priority was to keep the leaders of Zaun safe. Silco was right beside him, maybe he pushed him out of the way and he got shot instead. Felicia sees this, ran to him and pleaded not to shoot but was shot too and that's why their corpses ended up on top of each other.

Gangsters Threatening Huck Scene

MAMA TURN AROUND. YOUR CHILDREN BEHIND YOU -

This is the only shot with his lower half visible. I WAS RIGHT ABOUT THE MAROON OVERALLS??? His pants look maroon too, could only mean his pants is connected to the maroon cloth across his torso.

It looks like his left calf is exposed and he’s wearing a high boot on the right foot and a regular ass shoe on the left?? He also has a right knee pad and leg warmers.

How can I tell? I've mastered the art of interpreting pixels and I'm also not normal.

Sevika Confronts Vander scene

The clearest shot we have of his 3D model. Connol actually follows Sevika out in this scene. You know Vander is so ass as a leader that even Connol leaves💀 (also lowkey his biceps are kinda👀)

Bridge Blockade

This last one is from the part where Jayce ordered a blockade at the bridge. I’m actually not so sure if it’s him, it’s hard to see so I assumed based on the hat and turtleneck silhouette (it’s also funny to imagine he’s still going to protests post-death. Man’s haunting that bridge)

I should also note, old blonde Silco model is also by his side (ignore the cop in the middle)

Myne Door Defaults

So I was playing the other day and just happened to look over at Almeric Davis' door at the privacy sign and think, I wanna default that. Ended up being a 3-part project defaulting the sign, the door and the decals on the back.

The 3 wood textures are replaced with textures from Michelle, here and here. The decals are replaced with 3 hobby posters from @simsinlowspace here. And the privacy sign image is from freepik, edited with simlish text by me.

It's a little wonky, there's a warp for some reason but I think I did pretty good.

Because I defaulted the decals with a sports poster, a science poster and a games poster I decided to make custom recolors with one poster from each of simsinlowspace's hobby sets. Including the sports/science/games so you can just have them purely as custom if you don't want to default.

YES THE GOOD OMENS FANDOM BECAME MY NEW FAMILY FJKSDNGKS I love every person that became friends with me, I still have some of the friendships I did when I got into it!!

I think the first real friends I made because of it was in a discord server when EVERY got leaked (picture 2 was for my friend Trenton, he did that crochet sweater and I wanted to draw Azi on it <3!! and picture 3 was when one of those friends called Dory make the big effort to send me GO official merch and I cried about it nkjfgn)

Then my biggest group happen when S2 came out, I hosted a stream for over 200 on our discord server at the time. (picture 1 is the group of friends we had at that moment, I still have most of them in my life!) I found my people there and they helped me out a lot 🥺🥺💖

I also found lovely people here and on twitter!! Big artists that started following me and people I admired became my friends /sobs (pix i'm talking about you KJFSDNF) but over all it was, and keeps being, the best community I've been part of and I don't plan on leaving any time soon >:3 we stay strong in the face of difficulties and hug each other!

Here's where I arrived in response to the same question 116 has:

I don't know that there's textual evidence that Izzy actually does realize those things, but I think a lot about the moment when Ed says that if Izzy can't do his job he'll find someone else who will.

I think hearing that was a major shock to Izzy's system. We know Izzy as someone who's obsessed with Blackbeard and his connection to Blackbeard, and he places enormous value on that relationship. For Ed to basically say that he's just a replaceable employee vs whatever complex idea of their relationship Izzy has built up over the years had to wound him deeply.

His demeanor in the next scene is completely different than we've ever seen him, and there are enough cracks in his armor that he's unable to stop himself from crying (and being subjected to icky stuff from the crew like concern and affection).

In the wake of all that, Izzy seems to be thinking about a lot of things for the first time, especially his own well-being. I think there's evidence that the stuff we see later in the season is a reflection of Izzy learning how the status quo was hurting him, which was important for him to learn but doesn't necessarily mean anything directly related to Ed. Indirectly though? I think it boils down to how self-destructive they both were.

Just because Izzy "fed [Ed's] darkness" and was controlling, manipulative, etc doesn't mean the relationship with Ed wasn't harming Izzy as well. Hurt people hurt people, but I'd add a corollary that hurting people hurts people. So Izzy, on his journey of healing and growing for himself and his own sake could, by default, end up changing his treatment of Ed and his understanding of their relationship.

To be clear, I don't think the writers had the time they needed to earn certain moments we see in Izzy's s2 story. It's entirely possible that when the cuts were made, we lost moments that would have shown Izzy learning and reflecting on his harm of Ed from a more altruistic place. But trying to show support for the relationship with Stede and the things Izzy said to Ed while dying? Those are the kinds of things likely to make Izzy feel better in their own weird way because hurting Ed hurts him too.

Placing those burdens down helps him and incidentally, makes things better for Ed as well. Being shriven of those sins requires some acknowledgement of their existence, and Izzy getting shocked out of his previous understanding of things started him on the road where he could start seeing the harm he was doing to himself by continuing to harm Ed. Instead of searching the text in vain for a sign that Izzy "got it" for Ed's sake, I kind of just rationalize it to myself that he was starting to get it for his own sake. Growth doesn't necessarily have to come from a place of altruism in order to accidentally improve things for the people in your life.
