The key to surviving being stabbed with a lightsaber is to be too pissed off to die.
That's why Qui-Gon Jinn croaked. Dude was too damn chill.

So I firmly believe that everything Anakin did and said wasn't about him and what he needed to say, it was about what Ahsoka needed to hear and see.
There is so much to unpack within EVERYTHING of that episode but here's my attempt at trying to deconstruct the latter half of the Anakin & Ahsoka scenes:
"Ahsoka, within you will be everything I am"
For 15 years, Ahsoka thought that Anakin had died a Jedi. From the time she was 17 to the time she was 32 - it was a belief she held for her entire adult life! Her training as a Jedi was foundational to who she was (even if she wasn't a Jedi), and being trained by Anakin was the core of her Jedi training. For over a decade, she looked at that inheritance with nothing but pride over who had trained her and where she'd come from. And then she finds out what Anakin became. Obviously it's devastating to see someone who you consider family in the state, and to have them try to kill you! But the thing I'd never considered was how much it would make Ahsoka doubt herself. If Anakin trained Ahsoka - and you can bet she's now going over every memory of Anakin she ever has searching for double meanings, searching for signs of what he would become - what does that make her? What does that say about her training, and about all the lessons that shaped her?
"But my part of that legacy is one of death and war"
On top of that...Ahsoka has been a soldier and then a spy since she was fourteen. She was a literal child soldier! She was trained in nothing but killing and war, and then later had to train herself in killing and spying. Without a war to fight, who is she? Now that peace has (apparently) returned to the galaxy with the end of the Empire, what place does she have? What purpose does she serve? What knowledge of use does she have to pass onto Sabine?
"But you're more than that, because I'm more than that"
This isn't Anakin trying to defend himself, he's pointing out that to Ahsoka he means more than the death he caused, both as Jedi soldier and as Darth Vader. When he trained her, he didn't just teach her how to kill - he taught her how to respect and care about the men under her command, he taught her how to be brave in the face of insurmountable odds, he taught her how to be kind to the innocent. Clone Wars Anakin was just as much a Jedi as he was a solider, and so both trainings are what were passed down to Ahsoka. And his becoming Vader doesn't undo any of that. I don't think Ahsoka had ever figured out how to feel about Anakin's legacy, because how can she respect the man who became a genocidal monster? How can she respect and love and honor the man who tried to kill her? She should - well, not hate him, a Jedi (or even a not-Jedi) doesn't hate - but she should disavow him. But she can't, because he's still the man who stood up for her when the Jedi Council turned their backs on her, who drilled her in the lightsaber techniques that saved her life on Mandalore, who saved her life too many times to count and was her family. And she doesn't know how to reconcile those feelings with what Anakin became, and therefore she doesn't know how to reconcile the parts of herself that come from being trained by Anakin.
"You are more, Anakin. But more powerful and dangerous than anyone realized"
She's sidestepping the point by falling back on her default defense: Anakin fell to the Dark Side, and therefore everything that came out of his teachings - including her - is tainted. She still can't admit to herself that there was more to Anakin than his fall, and that all those parts of Anakin still mean something to her.
"Is that was this is about?" / "If I am everything you are-" / "then you've learned nothing"
She's still missing the point Anakin's trying to show her - that she carries his trainings and influence within her, but she is not Anakin. She is not tainted by Anakin's fall, and her fate will not be the same as his, because she's her own person who makes her own choices, and the good in Anakin's teachings - the good in her that came from them - doesn't just go away because Anakin fell. She's still so scared of Anakin's darkness - and what it says about her own inner darkness - that she can't see her own light.
"Back to the beginning. I gave you a choice - live, or die?"
For the last 10 or so years (however long since she returned from Malchor), Ahsoka's been in a holding pattern. All she knows is war, and she doesn't know what there is to life outside of fighting to live another day. She's terrified of who she is and of facing the ghost of Vader over her past. She's not living anymore, she's just surviving, moving from day to day. Anakin's telling her that's not enough anymore. Not being able to face her past and embrace her training literally killed her - Baylan was able to unbalance her enough to defeat her in a fight by stoking her inner discord. If she wants to return, she has to want to live, really live - she needs to find her direction in life beyond being a solider, and to do that she has to embrace her full legacy and training. If she can't do that, then she'll stay dead, stuck in the world between worlds.
"No-" / "Incorrect" / "You lack conviction" / "Time to die"
She still doesn't know how to see past Vader, so Anakin give her the opportunity to work through it in a way she can understand - by literally fighting her figurative demon.
"I choose to live"
By fighting Vader, by having the chance to kill him and embrace the Dark Side and realizing she didn't take it, realizing that she never even wanted to, Ahsoka finally realizes what Anakin's been trying to show her - she's not Vader, she never will be, because that's not who she is. Anakin's teachings are a part of her that she cannot escape, but there is more to Anakin's teachings than Vader, and there is more to her than what she has been taught. To find out what she is meant to be and move forward she must embrace where she came from. Only then can she return to the world of the living and move forward with her journey.

The Path to Peridea.
Baylan Skoll says that Peridea is from a fairy tale known to Jedi younglings, a children’s story, but in reality Baylan says this to remind us that Star Wars is exactly just that, a fairy tale, a children’s story.
What does “Peridea” mean?
peri: (in Persian mythology) a mythical superhuman being, originally represented as evil but subsequently as a good or graceful genie or fairy.
ASTRONOMY
peri: denoting the point nearest to a specified celestial body.
from Greek peri ‘about, around’.
dea: Latin for “goddess”
The descent into the underworld is one stage of the hero’s and the heroine’s journey.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As @better-call-mau1 pointed out, the Path to Peridea sounds a lot like the “path to perdition.”
perdition: (in Christian theology) a state of eternal punishment and damnation into which a sinful and unpenitent person passes after death.
Perhaps this is where Thrawn is, in a kind of hell.
But as in the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, a brave lover is willing to descend into Hades to rescue the beloved. This is Sabine Wren’s mission to find Ezra Bridger.
There’s another meaning to “Peridea” though.
It is a genus of moths from the family Notodontidae.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The moth in The Lord of the Rings films brought Gandalf the Grey hope when he was imprisoned in the Tower of Orthanc. When the moth appeared, it was a sign that Gandalf would soon be rescued by the giant eagles, which are used as symbols of divine intervention in Tolkien’s fiction.
Please note that the letters on the star-map to Peridea resemble the Viking runes Tolkien used in The Hobbit. Both The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings are stories of a hero’s journey filled with danger and wonder. The brave protagonists have to go “there and back again” just as Sabine will in the Ahsoka series.
Tumblr media
I think that Baylan Skoll reminding us that Star Wars is a children’s story is significant. Consider this quote from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J. K. Rowling.
“Of house-elves and children’s tales, of love, loyalty, and innocence, Voldemort knows and understands nothing. Nothing. That they all have a power beyond his own, a power beyond the reach of any magic, is a truth he has never grasped.”
In all the great fairy tales, the love and loyalty of the protagonist is the key to the triumph of good over evil.
Although she isn’t strong in the Force, Sabine Wren’s love for and loyalty to Ezra Bridger will strengthen her resolve on her road of trials along the Path to Peridea. With Ahsoka the Grey by her side, Sabine is ready to leave the comfort of Lothal (her Shire) and go to Peridea to save the man she loves.
Update, post Ahsoka Episode 6:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here’s Huyang reminding us that this is indeed a fairy tale, a children’s story.
And here’s Thrawn, showing us how the villain “knows and understands nothing.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“You wouldn't understand,” says Sabine.
“Perhaps not,” Thrawn responds.
What he doesn’t understand is love. The love and devotion that Sabine and Ezra have for each other is the power the dark lord knows not, and it will be his undoing.
I have spoken.

So about Satine and Mandalorian customs...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She's mourning a dying enemy who just bombed a public place and killed/injured several people (and could have killed/injured her), and she's comforting him in his own language too. I can think of maybe one other Mandalorian who'd do something like that and it's Sabine (with a name that sounds like Satine, who's friends with the Jedi like Satine was).
Because unlike Bo-Katan "you're not Mandalorian" Kryze, Pre "that woman tarnishes the very name Mandalorian" Vizsla, Din "you're not Mandalorian" Djarin, Gar "fuck everybody who isn't me" Saxon, Paz "fate has brought this blade back to my clan, and now fate will end yours" Vizsla and her ladyship "then, you are a Mandalorian no more" the Armorer, and all the rest of the warriors, Satine actually cares about ALL the Mandalorians.
Not just the ones who agree with her, not just the ones who accept her authority and not just the ones who follow one and only one 'way.'
That doesn't mean she's ready to just let them run amok and do whatever they want (hence making Concordia its own province for the warriors, hence banning weapons for outsiders in the cities, hence calling rogue anybody who'd try to pull Mandalore into the war) but she freaking cares. She NEVER takes arms against another Mando or wishes harm on them, even as the traditionalists spend decades bombing their own people, fighting their own clans or houses for leadership, staging fake terrorist threats and putting people in danger, putting Sith or the Empire in power and then fighting those, and scorning any Mando not doing the same, all while professing to do that out of love for their people.
She actually cares, about ALL of them.

“What was first just a dream has become a frightening reality for those who may oppose us.” He casually says, closing the gap between him and the group with his signature smirk.
You straighten your back, gulping, your heart beating at 100 miles per hour.
Finally.
After ten years.
You can see him in all his glory.
Thrawn…
Your heart screams to throw yourself at him, everyone be damned, but it is a bad idea. None of them are aware of your relationship with Thrawn, you took great care in hiding that from them. This info is too sensitive to be known by anyone. Morgan would have tried to get rid of you if she knew, her thirst for power and glory pushing her to follow and obey Thrawn in all matters, but she’s not without deviances and you don’t trust her enough, Thrawn didn’t trust her enough either to reveal your relationship to her back in the Empire.
But you, you know her.
She always struck you as an odd choice for Thrawn to take as a protégé… She always lacked the genius he saw in Vanto and Faro, maybe it’s her undying loyalty that resembles obsession that pleased him? You doubt it. He surely only took her under his wings to know more about the Force and fight the jedis more efficiently.
“Great mothers, I salute you. Soon we should all escape this exile thanks to the help of Morgan Elsbeth.”
Oh that voice… so soft and melodic like in your memories. How much you yearned to hear it again. It makes you want to run into his arms and hug him tightly, to jump in his embrace and kiss him deeply.
But that would be stupidly dangerous. Elsbeth is too savage and you don’t feel those… Great Mothers. Something tells you they are the kind to exploit any weakness.
The discussion continues while your eyes remain on your man, your treasure, your cha’cah… He’s old. He seems tired and weary, his uniform is patched up. The weight of years really makes itself felt despite his haughty demeanor.
But to you he’s never been so handsome.
Nothing could compare to him and the moment of your reunion.
This instant is magic, timeless.  A fairy tale. You feel light bubbles in your stomach. But you have one lingering fear…
“And you are?” he asks Baylan, clasping his hand behind his back as you remember him doing.
“Mercenaries” Morgan explains “Baylan Skoll, and his apprentice Shin Hati.” She presents them, they bow lightly to him, remaining humble. “And (Y/n)(F/n), but I think you already know her.”
You take a step forward and bow respectfully to him, a sour taste in your mouth. What if his sentiment faded during this ten years exile? What if he found comfort in the arms of one of his stormtroopers? What if you’re just too old for him now?
You look into his eyes as you raise back your head, he glares back at you with a light grin.
“I do remember. We used to work closely to defeat the enemy of the Empire together.”
“Indeed, Grand Admiral.” You nod humbly.
Oh to be close, you were close. As close as you can be. He takes his time to gauge you up and down with his little grin before turning back to Baylan.
“Then you must be General Baylan Skoll, of the Jedi order.”
----------------------------------------------------
You're fidgeting your fingers, laying on the bed.
You can’t sleep.
You’re well awake under the covers, eyes fixated on the stone ceiling of the cold room, mulling over your situation.
You find him! A hunt of ten years just ended, and you hoped for… more? Just after finishing the presentations Thrawn and Morgan locked themself in a room to strategize your next moves. Baylan, Shin and you were left arms dangling without anything to do. You tried to access the Chimaera to visit your old room but the captain, Enoch, stopped you and escorted you back to the stone citadel without a word.
You’re not welcome in the Chimaera anymore it seems.
Are your fears correct?
Did he find someone else?
You sigh deeply, turning in the cover again. You try not to think too much about it, you wished you could ask him for an explanation but each time you tried to enter the room a soldier stopped you. And you don’t think he would have appreciated to be disturbed in his brainstorming session for heart matters.
You bite your lips, feeling tears building behind your eyes. Even after ten years that still hurts like hell. You hoped for an explosive reunion, but you got a nod and a grin before getting ignored and relegated to a goon status. If only you could just cross path with him in the corridors, just one discussion to clear the air and know your situation for certain, if only-
You hear knocks at your door.
You raise your head. It’s almost 3am, who would come at this hour?
“Coming!” You shout, praying for it not to be Enoch with bad news.
You open your door to Thrawn, hands behind his back, and a serious gaze.
“Oh…” That’s all you can say, you thought he was already sleeping.
Apparently the session with Morgan only ended moments ago.
“May I enter?” he politely asks.
You step to the side, signaling him your permission. He enters slowly, like he’s discovering the room. You close the door and cross your arms, as much to protect you from the cold than to protect yourself from what he could throw at you.
“Is something wrong?” you ask, a little anxious.
He spins on himself, turning to you.
“Nothing is wrong, dear. Nothing has ever been this brighter in ten years.”
You smile a bit, nodding.
“Yeah, I guess finally seeing your rescue group must lift a heavy weight off your shoulders.”
“It is true. But I was not referring to that.” he counters. “Approach.”
You tilt your head, walking toward him. He extends his hand to you and you take it, wondering what he wants. He inspects your left hand and a smile graces his lips.
“You are still wearing your wedding ring.” you think you hear some relief in his tone but you can’t be sure.
“Yes. I kept it for all those years.” you admit.
“Does it still have value in your eyes?” he asks suddenly.
“What do you mean?” you frown.
“Your ring. Does it still hold any meaning to your heart?” he demands with gleaming eyes.
After a hesitation you nod.
“Yes. Yes it does.”
He looks into your eyes, as to see if you were lying and sighs of relief.
“You ease my heart.” he takes his left hand from behind his back into your hand, revealing his own ring “I kept mine too. It reminded me of you everyday.” He kisses your hand reverently.
You observe his ring on his finger, feeling your heart dilating with relief.
He didn’t forget you…
“Thank Maker.” you whisper, closing your eyes.
“Cha’cah.” you reopen your eyes, feeling his warm palms on your cheek “I am blissful to see you. I missed you terribly.”
“I missed you too.” you throw yourself in his arms, circling him tightly.
He squeezes you against his heart, kissing the top of your head.
“I am here, cha’cah. And I am not going anywhere this time.”
You raise your gaze to meet his, full of hope.
“You promise?” you hear your voice crack “I already lost you once, I won’t survive losing you a second time.”
“I promise cha’cah. From now on we will remain together, fight together, rule together…” he tries to appease you.
“I don’t care about ruling anybody, it’s you that I want!” You bury yourself against him, digging your nails in the fabric of his white uniform like he would evaporate. You don’t care about any powers, all you came here for is to bring him home, you will think about power after.
“You are right as always. I am sorry. This is the most important.” He murmurs as he buries his head in the crook of your neck, deeply inhaling your scent.
He looms over you with his height, shielding you with his large shoulders. You start hearing a faint purr as he breathes in your musk.
“You smell lovely.” he finally says after a minute of silence.
“Yeah right!” you giggle “I’m sweaty and there aren't any showers here.”
“Well it is lovely nonetheless.” He inhales again with a growl of satisfaction “It is doing things to me…” he sighs deeply satisfied.
He starts kissing your exposed neck as you chuckle.
“Doing things to you? What happened to my unshakable Grand Admiral?”
“Maybe the unshakable Grand Admiral would like to revel in your delights.” he says lowly, pushing you gently against a wall.
You’re pressed between the cold stone and the large wall that is his chest, he kisses your neck, your jaw, stops to devour you with his red gaze and finally kisses your lips. You close your eyes to savor it, opening your mouth to let him enter. His tongue passes past your lips to hug and dance with yours. You  moan against his soft lips, indulging yourself in the languorous kiss. His purr grows louder, a hand in your hair to press your lips against his, his other hand snakes its way in your back to pull your body against his. You circle his shoulders with your arm, a hand passing in his hair, dishevelling him. The kiss became heavy and feverish, his hands sliding under your shirt, caressing your bare skin with his warm palm. You part with him to start unbuttoning his jacket with haste, barely containing your desire to simply tear it apart to gain access to his body. Thrawn chuckles darkly.
“I do not remember you so hasty.”
“We didn’t have 10 years to compensate.” you counter, you wince because a stupid button refuses to open.
He kisses your forehead tenderly and opens it for you, taking his sweet time deliberately.
“I don’t wanna play tonight.” you say between a plea and an order.
“You are right, this is cruel of me.”
He finishes to open his jacket at a more acceptable pace and take it off, leaving himself in his signature black tank top.
“Maker, your taste in fashion hasn't evolved in ten years.” you giggle.
He sighs and tackles your feet. You yelp in surprise, losing your balance but he catches you with expert hands and carries you bridal style to your basic bed. He lays you down, looming over you like a predator and kisses you again, pulling your shirt over your breast and sliding your bra under it to expose your sensitive tits. He lapps them avidly, licks across the mount and sucks them like he would gulp down a treat, groping them with his large warm hands. You whimper and arch your back under his ministrations, how right does it feel to feel him on you again…
He kisses your tit and passes to the other, giving it the same treatment while massaging the first one. Your breath gets stuck in your throat and you feel your pussy starting to leak with your slick and soaking your undergarment. You want his lips and hands everywhere on you at the same time, you want to feel the weight of his body on yours, pining you into place, you want him deep inside you.
“Hurry… Please hurry…” you whimper as his tongue works on your nipple.
“No.'' He berates you gently “I have been deprived of you for so long, let me enjoy it as I please.” He slowly trails his way down your stomach with his tongue, leaving a trail of fresh saliva from your breast to your tummy. He reaches the hem of your pants and takes a good lick at your venus mons with the flat of his tongue. He kisses it swiftly and opens your pants with deft hands.
“First, let me indulge myself in my favorite treat.” he says with a short breath, a rare visible sign of his excitement.
You try to raise your bust on your elbow to have a better view when he slides your panties to the side to gain access to your wet cunny. He blows on it lightly, letting the cold hair hit your sensitive bud. You whine, your pussy demanding attention urgently. He chuckles and kisses your pussy lips before taking a fat sloppy lick with the flat of his tongue. You throw your head backward with a moan as he licks and laps you thoroughly, he focuses on your clit, sucking it and flicking his tongue, giving it extra intention, eating you out as good as you remember him doing. Maker, in ten years he didn’t lose his touch, you feel yourself getting wetter and wetter. He looks straight into your eyes as he does it, unashamed, growling like a carnivore feasting on its prey. You inadvertently squeeze his head in the spasm of your thighs, his large hands come part them wide open to give him better access. You flush deeply, taking shallow breath you feel yourself trembling terribly as pleasure waves spread through your veins. He continues to tease you like a hungry man, unbothered by your trembling limbs locking his head in its place. The waves grow furious and you come on his face. You let yourself fall on the mattress, tired and ashamed.
“I’m sorry…” you whine between two gasps.
“Never apologize for that. It is exactly what I wanted and you delivered splendidly.” he purrs, working his tongue on your fold. Drinking your slick, he parts your folds and enters you and tonguefuck you thoroughly, darting and caressing your gummy spot so deliciously.
You didn’t know any other man during those ten years, you stayed faithful to him and rarely took the matter in your own hands because you were so busy working to get him back. Those ten years of abstinence got you so sensitive that one orgasm already took a toll on your delicate pussy. You grip his hair and face, trying to pull him off you but he doesn’t budge, remaining firmly in place.
“Thrawn… please…” you try.
“That is it. Call my name cha’cah, do not hesitate to scream it as you cum.” he coos, his swollen lips working on yours all puffy and soft.
You try to wiggle out of his grip but he holds down your hips firmly with a growl of disapprobation, warning you to never deprive him of your cunny. He purposely makes the most obscenes sounds to get you hot and bothered, to let you know that it is because of you he behaves like a rabid animal in heat, that he tossed both of your dignities to indulge in the sinful pleasures of the flesh. You moan under his skillful tongue, you are hypersensitive and already sore, how could you take another orgasm without shattering in a million pieces? Your pussy clench painfully over his tongue, you feel your muscles gorging themself with hot blood and puffing up.
“I missed that pussy.” He groans “You have no idea how much. Ten years without it was torture.”
“It… It wasn’t funny without you either.” you breathe.
“We will make up for it tonight, cha’cah. Do not worry about that.”
Oh you don’t worry about that, you worry about your spasming cunt. You feel your heart beating at max speed, ready to spring out of your ribcage. You feel your own blood beat furiously down in your core.
You come again, a powerful orgasm that tenses up all your muscles. You squirt in his mouth as you land on the mattress with a “oof”.
“Prodigious, cha’cah! You have done it!” He praises you, you can hear the warmth and the satisfaction in his voice and deep purr as he licks his lips hungrily. Thrawn adorns a smug smirk of making you cum two times. He kisses your clit and looms over you again, kissing you deeply, letting you taste yourself on his tongue.
He places himself between your legs, raising up on his knees to take off his shirt and open his pants.  You wearily push yourself in a sitting position to get rid of all your clothes sticky and full of sweat. You help him with his pants, seeing the bulge in the tight fabric. It must be painful for him, you think. He frees his erection and you take it in your hand, stroking it lazily and kissing its head. You lick his blue girth from the base to the tip, peppering kisses here and there. He inhales deeply, his head back, caressing your cheek. you take him in your mouth and circle his crown with your tongue. It is warm and heavy in your mouth, it makes you drool. You taste the saltiness of his pre-cum. You start bobbing your head when he gently pulls you off. You look at him without understanding, pouting like a child who just got denied a tasty candy.
“What you are doing with your mouth is delightful, cha’cah. But I want my cock inside your pussy as soon as possible.” He rasps.
You open your eyes wide.
In your pussy? No way.
You’re already so sore, he can’t be serious.
“Thrawn…” you whine “I can’t take another one…”
He gently pushes you back on the mattress, following you with a smirk.
“Of course you can, cha’cah. You are a big girl, you can take it and more. I trust you.” he licks and kisses your neck, weighing heavy on your more petite figure. You feel so safe under his warm, hot body.
He circles your waist with his arms and rolls on the side, pulling you on top of him.
“Ride me, my love. Take control.” He instructs.
You feel his dick poking at the plumpness of your ass, hard as a rock. You cry, your legs are already trembling, you don’t know if you can even ride him properly. You sigh and tiredly raise from your laying position to grasp him and align him with your sex. You ease yourself slowly on him, opening your mouth round at the full sensation.
Maker, he’s big! You forgot how much.
You’re stuffed to the brim, you can’t take more. His hands come caressing your waist to ease your muscles.
“You are doing great, cha’cah. Ride me as you please, what you want I will give.” He praises you.
You rise up and go down slowly, letting your slick act as a lubricant and it’s hardly a luxury given his girth. You breathe deeply through your nose and continue to ride him slowly, making circling motion with your hips. He can reach every spot with ease, you feel his tip brushing your cervix, deep inside you. You moan his name pathetically, your legs are barely working and you have difficulty raising your own weight on his shaft.
“Maker, were you always so tight?” he gasps with gleaming eyes.
You ride him sloppily as best you can, with Thrawn seizing your waist to help your motion, caressing you with his thumbs. He starts rutting into you delicately, but you can feel his eagerness bubbling under his skin. Despite that he respects the pace you choose.
When you reach the end of your rope you fall on him, gasping for air. He hugs you tight, kissing the top of your head while rutting deep inside you, one hand between your two bodies to caress your clit. You can’t move anymore, you really should work on your stamina, you think with a tired smile, letting him work. Your sore pussy is stretched to the max, your pussylips are all swollen and your abused clit is all puffy and nervous. You feel your inner muscle working to welcome his cock deep inside you, so much you feel waves in your stomach. His veiny shaft stretches you deliciously.
“Can I take the lead?” He softly asks.
You nod with a mumble, exhausted.
He makes you roll swiftly, getting on top of you again and installs a breakneck pace all of the sudden. He knocks the air out of your lungs, hitting your cervix with ease.
“Ha! Thrawn!” You manage to speak between two powerful thrusts.
“Hold on to me, cha’cah.” He indicates, panting, pressing himself against you and merely suffocating you.
Your head hits the headboard repeatedly, as you hold on to Thrawn for dear life. The scent of sex and his musk makes your head spin and the obscene noises of flesh hitting flesh resonate in the bedroom in an obsessing fashion. You gasp and mewls and whimper and sob, digging your nails in his large shoulders, his imposing figure shielding you completely. You let your gaze travel south and see how his cock disappears inside your body, a creamy O at the base of his shaft.
He rolls his hips like a jackhammer, pushing you into the mattress like it was nothing. You fear the bed will break, it’s clearly not made to bear such activities.
“It is so good, cha’cah. It is better than in my memories. Is it good for you too?” he asks, biting your lower lips.
“Yes, yes, yes…” you can only chant.
He plunges into you with force, at this point you’re more of a fleshlight he uses than an active participant. But you’re so exhausted, and the pleasure you feel is so great it stiffen your limbs, preventing you from moving. You feel your poor pussy getting abused, hit repeatedly by his mighty hips.
Despite his age, he really still got it.
It transports you back in time, with your younger self making love all night long, with him nuzzling against you, begging for another round while you just layed barely moving from exhaustion. In some way it is still the same, your older self just lasted less time.
You feel your pussy clenching on his cock again, and you just know you completely soaked up the sheets. You feel your slick and his pre-cum leaking of your cunny, running along your tight ass.
He holds your cheek tenderly and kisses you feverishly, muffling your mewls with his soft lips. His tongue comes to hug yours, languidly.
You cry his name as you cum again, seeing stars behind your closed eyes, tensing around his dick like it is trying to hold it deep inside, he kisses your cheek, purring loudly, clearly satisfied by his work.
His hips start jerking and moving erratically until he freezes, completely contracted, spurting long hot ribbons of seed in you. Your pussy milks him dry for all his worth.
He peppers your face with kisses, as you try to get back your breath.
“Can I remain inside? I want to enjoy you as long as I can.” he whispers in your ear.
You slowly nod, repressing a yawn.
He slides on the side, hugging you tight. You snuggle against him, your head against his beating heart.
“It was grandiose, was it not, cha’cah?” he kisses your forehead “I could go for another round if you wish?”
You hide your face in his chest with a pathetic whine.
“Alright.” He chuckles, “as you wish, my love."
You remain silent for long minutes, only listening to each other breathing. You draw circle on his wide chest with the tip of your finger before taking the floor.
"You're gonna find it stupid, but I was afraid you'd find someone else." You let out.
"Nobody could have taken your place, you are unique in my heart." Thrawn whispers back.
"Yet when Enoch refused me access to the Chimaera I thought our time was over." You turn your head to meet his gaze.
His hand comes grazing your cheek.
"I had to do… reforms to keep my troops alive. It was not against you. I will warn Enoch to give you free access to the ship first thing in the morning." He comforts you.
You pull the cover a bit over the both of you, thinking.
"I don't like Morgan." you let out "I don't trust her."
"Me neither. But she is a necessary evil to my plans."
"Necessary to the point of isolating yourself with her for hours?"
He gives you a sidelong glance with a smirk.
"Did you become jealous during those ten years?" he asks, amused.
"Yes, terribly. I want to know what you do with her." you demand.
"We simply planned our next campaign. I would like your opinion on some moves tomorrow, I trust your strategic abilities more than hers." He boops your nose and you wince exaggeratedly.
You remember the long hours you used to spend together, strategizing carefully each move, he asked your advices regularly, taking your opinions and suggestions very seriously despite his genius. You ended up sleeping at your desk several time but he would carry you to your shared bed and hug you tight... Those were simpler, nicer times.
You smile, looking in his magnificent red eyes.
"I love you, Thrawn." you murmur, eyes heavy with sleep.
"I love you, Ch'acah." He kisses your forehead "Sleep well."

Sabine Wren & Ahsoka Tano (Quick Analysis)
Fear is The Path
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alright, let's get into it.
For this post we're going to take a look into the Master/Apprentice relationship between Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren. Specifically, I'm going to be looking into why Ahsoka felt it necessary to walk away from Sabine's training as a Jedi.
In Ahsoka, we're pointed to a major historical event known as the Great Purge of Mandalore being the catalyst; the Empire carpet bombing the planet surface, killing millions of Mandalorians, scattering the remaining survivors to the stars and, for Sabine, causing the loss of her entire family: Alrich Wren (father), Countess Ursa Wren (mother), and Tristan Wren (brother).
Tumblr media
Ahsoka, for reasons only known to herself, abandoned Sabine's Jedi training shortly after this event. We're given some insight via Huyang in Ahsoka 1x08, however:
Huyang: Ahsoka became afraid that Sabine was training to be a Jedi for the wrong reasons after what happened on Mandalore. Ezra: Which was? Huyang: At the end of the war, the Empire purged the entire surface of the planet, killing hundreds of thousands. Ezra: Her family? Huyang: Were all lost, sadly. At the time, Ahsoka felt that if Sabine unlocked her potential, she would become dangerous.
However, it's clear that Huyang doesn't have the full picture of the fallout between Ahsoka and Sabine. Sabine herself only has her own warped view of why Ahsoka left, as evidenced by Baylan's manipulation in Ahsoka 1x04:
Baylan: I know you feel that Ezra Bridger is the only family you have left. Your family died on Mandalore . . . because your Master didn't trust you.
Piecing together the, admittedly, few clues we have paints the picture that Ahsoka prevented Sabine from helping her family during the Purge - which led to their deaths.
It's understandable that Sabine would have been outraged; both at the loss of her family, her people, her way of life and also at her Master who, for whatever reason, did not want Sabine present on Mandalore to save her family.
Until Dave Filoni reveals the exact details of what happened during that event, we're left with speculation. My personal take is simply this: Ahsoka did not want Sabine to die alongside her family. It's what makes the most amount of sense to me.
Ahsoka cares about Sabine, like any Master would do for their student.
So - Sabine loses everything and begins to take steps towards a turn to the Dark Side. Fear leads to anger; anger leads to hate; hate leads to suffering, as Master Yoda says. Ahsoka, sensing this dark rage bloom in her student, decides to stop the training out of fear that Sabine becomes another Vader.
Except. That doesn't make any sense to me.
Because Ahsoka Tano is who she is.
Tumblr media
Ahsoka survived her own Purge. The fall of the Jedi Order, her home, and the institution that she pledged most of her life to, the only family she had ever known.
Ahsoka knows this pain. She is, arguably, the best suited to steer Sabine away from a potential turn to the Dark Side after her student loses everything in the same way that she did.
Actress Rosario Dawson - and backed up by the hat man himself - has stated that Ahsoka has had plenty of opportunities to turn to the Dark Side. She's fought through two Galactic Civil Wars, seen everyone she loved die, and has been betrayed by the people she fought so hard to protect.
And, yet, Ahsoka Tano never turned. She stayed on her path, long and winding as it may be, and continued to serve the Light in the best way she knew how.
At some point, she takes on Sabine as a Padawan, seeing echoes of Anakin in her. Yes, there's the anger and the recklessness there that makes Ahsoka uneasy, but that's always been a part of Sabine's character. It's nothing new. She decided to take Sabine Wren as her apprentice, anyway, and it worked fine until the Purge.
So, what happened? What changed? What was the growing darkness in her Padawan that convinced Ahsoka Tano that the best course of action was to abandon the Jedi training - abandon Sabine entirely - at a time when she needed counseling the most?
Attachment. Sabine's attachment to Ezra.
Tumblr media
Dave Filoni and the actress for Sabine Wren, the fantastic Natasha Liu Bordizzo, have both pointed out that there are echoes of Anakin in Sabine. In separate interviews, both spoke about the anger and recklessness in Sabine - but, more interesting, they did not acknowledge the major factor in Anakin's downfall.
Anakin's attachment to his loved ones. His inability to let go.
It's bizarre that they didn't talk about this and I suspect that it's on purpose. Because that is arguably the biggest reason why Anakin fell to the Dark Side. The anger and the recklessness were all symptoms of this larger issue for Anakin Skywalker.
And Ahsoka Tano sensed the same in Sabine Wren.
Let's look at evidence from another Filoni series, The Mandalorian. From episode 2x05, The Jedi, when Ahsoka is re-introduced into the Star Wars universe.
There's a pivotal moment when she meets Grogu and Force communes with him to get a sense of his history.
She senses "great fear and anger" in him at the beginning; it makes her wary, of course, but it doesn't seem to perturb her.
However, when Din asks if she can teach him, Ahsoka flatly rejects the idea for this reason:
youtube
What she says is vitally important:
Ahsoka: His attachment to you makes him vulnerable to his fears. His anger. Din: All the more reason to train him. Ahsoka: No. I've seen what such feelings can do to a fully trained Jedi Knight. To the best of us.
That's where Ahsoka draws the line in the sand; it's not the anger that scares her - it's Grogu's attachment to Din.
And, mind you, the timeline of this episode occurs after Ahsoka and Sabine had their split. So, even though she's clearly referencing Anakin here, I don't doubt that Sabine is also on her mind.
Think about it. Sabine has just lost everything - except for Ezra. The anger is something Ahsoka can deal with, but Sabine's attachment to Ezra is not; she knows it's the primary reason for Anakin's downfall and she was powerless to stop it.
That's what drives Ahsoka away. That is what scares her. She couldn't be there for Anakin, was blind to what was happening; and now, it's happening with Sabine.
The only path Ahsoka can see forward is to leave Sabine; prevent her Padawan from reaching full potential. It's an awful course to take and it leaves Sabine stranded, feeling alone, at a time when she needed mentorship and guidance the most.
But it's all Ahsoka can think of. She cares about Sabine and is too blinded by her own fears to believe in her own ability to stop Sabine from falling into the same darkness that took Anakin.
Sabine only has Ezra now with Ahsoka gone. He's the only one she can save now, the only one she can do anything for. The loss of her family has caused her attachment, her feelings for Ezra, to sharpen into something deadly: possessiveness. The exact feeling that Jedi warned against.
Why didn't Ahsoka stop this from happening earlier?
Because this is Sabine and Ezra; we know Sabine and Ezra were close, as did Ahsoka. It's probable that Sabine's feelings were gradually heading in this direction and the Purge just gave it a decisive push to the inevitable conclusion.
Ahsoka, also, presumably knew how Sabine felt the entire time and didn't want to have an honest talk with her Padawan about it.
Because it's Sabine and Ahsoka herself was still operating under the influence of Anakin's legacy as Vader; she was scared to bring it out into the open, because she didn't know what to do if her fears were confirmed about Sabine's feelings.
I mean, it's obvious that this isn't the first time they've probably talked about this, as evidenced by this scene in Ahsoka 1x04:
youtube
Ahsoka knows. She comes the closest in this scene, out of everyone else in Sabine's life, to directly confront Sabine about her true feelings for her old friend.
She knows that there's more going on underneath the surface of Sabine regarding her feelings towards Ezra. It's not a conversation she wants to have in this moment (just look at the body language), but there's no other choice - not with the stakes this high.
There is no way that this is the first time Ahsoka has broached the subject about Ezra with her Padawan and, knowing Sabine, she probably walked away from every attempt a little more worried.
But Ahsoka refused to really have that open conversation with Sabine, settling only for these half-hearted comments and, in doing so, set up her student for failure. Sabine was unprepared; had no way of being vigilant towards her worst enemy - herself.
Ahsoka's actions, caused by fear of herself and Anakin's legacy, left Sabine vulnerable to her feelings.
They had been growing all this time and now, with no one to temper them, were allowed to become something more - something dangerous.
The Purge happened. Sabine's family died. Her people died. Mandalore was lost.
After that, Sabine had nothing left to lose. Her attachment to Ezra, her love for him - it made her vulnerable to her fear. Just as Ahsoka feared it would.
Sabine couldn't lose Ezra. Her love for him - her fear of losing him, like her family - dictated that no sacrifice was too great; no cost, too high.
And Baylan used it as the perfect weapon against her. "Do it. For Ezra."
We know the rest.
Sabine gambled. The galaxy lost.
Fear won.

I guess what keeps me up at night is asking what's the point of Sabine's search for Ezra, like... as an emotional arc.
(This text is an adaptation of the thread I wrote on Twitter)
Because when I rewatch the fourth season of Rebels, I get the impression that they are paired together in many episodes as a way to prepare us for a hurtful goodbye between the two at the end of the show, which is to me the same reason why they decided to go heavy on confirming Kanan and Hera's romance because they knew he was going to die.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't really know if the parallels between Sabezra and Kanera are intentional considering how Filoni talks about the former, but Ezra does become Kanan (even has a whole stretch arms sacrifice) and Sabine does become Hera (Deep grief for losing him) and not in a "The kid got this from his/her parent." sense, but in the sense of that the situation is really similar, which is interesting because it wasn't like this originally.
Ahsoka made Sabine's grief towards Ezra not being by her side all the time a thing.
Tumblr media
Instead of simply letting Sabine's mission be about bringing Ezra home like in the original animated epilogue, Filoni complicates things a little bit by implying that Sabine is not doing this for Ezra, but for herself. Beyond that, almost every character notices how devoted she is to him and it even confuses some of them.
Thrawn, for example, has studied Sabine. He is well aware that Ezra is her compatriot and friend and yet... he is confused by her choice. Sabine states "You wouldn't understand." and then accepts to be stranded on Peridea just to see Ezra again. Once she found him and even after hearing he wants to get home, she did not say a word about Thrawn being his only ticket home. Instead, she simply enjoys time with him.
Tumblr media
If you know Sabine Wren, you know that she would never ignore a huge Imperial threat and put in danger people like Hera, who is definitely an older sister type of role model to her, or feel that Ezra is the only family she has, so I do understand why people think she is very distant from the original show.
There might be a reason for all of this. A reason that I'm not sure Filoni wants to dive into, but the way he's been writing Sabine, the vagueness every time Ezra is the conversation's topic, feels like she has fallen in love with him during his absence and honestly? This makes far more sense than any other explanation.
We've seen in Star Wars before, fiction in general, that love is blind. Sabine's focus on finding Ezra is described by Baylan as something that blinds her. Not only this would justify her out of character attitude, but also the parallels with Kanan and Hera.
Star Wars live-action TV shows this year have been interesting to decode. In both The Mandalorian season 3 and Ahsoka season 1, there's a lot of subtle implications that characters want to build a life with somebody.
Mando does this in Chapter 22 - Guns For Hire, an episode surrounded by romantic love, where a droid bartender tells Din and Bo that human life is so short and then they look at each other. They want to be together, but that has not been verbalized yet. It is still very much in the subconscious.
Tumblr media
Ahsoka does it in Part 7 - Dreams and Madness, by showing Sabine's lack of urgency regarding Thrawn and simply enjoying Ezra's company. It really implies that this was what her mission was all about: Be with Ezra. Her real desire is build a life with him, but that desire is still in the subconscious.
Tumblr media
I believe Favreau knows all of that when it comes to Din and Bo.
BUT DOES FILONI KNOW THAT WHEN IT COMES TO SABINE AND EZRA?

A true hearts message.
Pairings: Ezra Bridger x F!Reader Warnings: Ahsoka S1 Spoiler! This was written at 3 AM -> should be proofread now
word count: I‘ll add it tomorrow
summary: you always felt strange feelings when Ezra was around you. Just when you finally decided to listen to your heart, it was too late. You were never able to tell him what you felt, and the same goes for him. When you finally found him alongside Ahsoka and Sabine, you both felt finally complete again.
authors note: thank you @densenubi for the idea! I hope you like it, had so much fun writing it, especially the beginning 😭😭 considering that it’s 3 AM right now, I’ll go to sleep and correct the mistakes tomorrow if there are any major mistakes c:
well then, this one even has a little bit of angst <3
Tumblr media
Our everyday life’s are filled with various kinds of what if‘s.
They became important parts of our lives, accompany us throughout our most important decisions and even define us.
What if‘s belong to the greatest questions we could ever ask ourselves.
And what makes them so great? So individual? So special?
The fact that even we don’t and never will know the answer to them.
But most importantly.
The fact that depending on what we chose, the ‚what could have been‘ will automatically be replaced into a ‚what‘ll never be‘. Destroying the chances of the opposite one to ever exist again.
-
„I don’t understand how they can be this oblivious towards each other“
Hera whispered, watching you two closely from afar.
„Who? y/n and Ezra?“
Kanan asked while he leaned himself against the wall, looking at Hera.
„Who else? Of corse I mean them!“
He chuckled at her. She was kind of the crews mother figure, she saw y/n, Ezra and Sabine as her own. Which was kind of the reason why she always got so excited when they were so close towards each other.
But they were oblivious, even Kanan saw the tension between them and he is blind!
„I mean you can’t really see them.. but the way they look at each other or act around each other.. it’s painful to watch“
She sighed but Kanan only chuckled at her.
And as if there wasn’t any better timing to her shipping you with Ezra, your faces moved dangerously close as you sorted the crates, gazing into each others eyes.
The blue of his eyes always mesmerized you, and the same applys to Ezra with your e/c ones.
You both stood still, basically panicking inside.
And Hera couldn’t contain her excitement any longer while she was still observing the scene.
„Oh my force! I think that they’re gonna kiss!!“
She whisper-yelled at Kanan. He shrugged it off.
„Wanna bet?“
„Bet on what?“
„I don’t know, choose something. If they kiss you win, if they won’t I win“
He said while grinning.
„Okay then, the winner gets to eat a breakfast prepared by the loser to tomorrow. Prepare yourself though.. I‘m sure that this time they will finally feel the tension between them“
She said proudly, so sure that she’d win that bet.
You felt your heart pounding faster, heat rising into your face and he felt the same. After staring into each others eyes for who knows how long you both moved your heads always from one another. Staring to the ground as if to avoid to lock gazes again.
„sorry I-„
„I didn’t mean-„
You both began simultaneously and then stopped, getting nervous now.
„You first“
You both started again, still avoiding eye contact.
After hearing the same words from the other, you both started to laugh.
Finding it funny how you both fell into each others words.
„I‘m sorry, I didn’t mean to come to close“
Ezra then said catching up his breath.
„Me too, I guess we‘re just both clumsy“
She replied while feeling the feeling of unease wash away and be replaced by a newfound happiness.
„Clumsy you say? That was a perfectly synchronized attempt of a conversation“
He joked, also feeling how the unease was fading away as they continued talking.
Hera at the other hand was dumbfounded.
How where you two so blind?
Her excitement washed away as she heard Kanan clear his throat.
„Seems like I win“
He said victoriously.
„Just because you don’t see their bond and think of the negative!“
She whined, struggling to believe that once again, you both friendzoned each other.
„I don’t always think of the negative“
He shrugged.
„I just know my Padawan and his inner struggles very well, I‘m his mentor after all, he tells me everything“
Kanan continued while he ‚looked‘ at her direction.
„So, you make the breakfast tomorrow?“
He asked with a smirk.
-
You were back in your cabin now, laying on your bed while reading some reports on your datapad.
Everything you could think of right now was the short moment you had with Ezra earlier.
You couldn’t help but notice some kind of strange feeling taking over everytime you spent time with him. Sometimes it was warm, other times it was a rush of excitement but once again you didn’t know what it was or why it was there when you were around him.
He is your best friend, of corse you’d spent time together or organize pranks against Zeb and Chopper.
But as of lately you noticed a change.
Whenever you walked close side by side your fingers were barely touching each other.
Whenever you talked about your stories, being your life when you where still small or his life back in Lothal, you felt as if you could trust him everything.
Knowing that he wouldn’t judge you or see you any less.
Whenever you had a mission you found yourself concerned for Ezra.
Well, you were concerned for the whole crews well being, but Ezra kind of was the first person you had in mind when you heard an explosion or someone starting the blaster fire.
And as if those observations weren’t enough, you noticed the crews strange behavior towards both of you. Always grinning whenever you where close.
Being excited when you and Ezra hugged or trained together.
But he was your friend. He didn’t see you in that way.
And that was totally fine. While you still tried to decipher that strange feelings meaning, you were happy with how the things between you two where.
Not thinking too much into it.
The day had other days for you though when you heard someone knocking at your cabin door.
„Yeah?“
You asked.
„Can I come in?“
The voice asked, who you recognized as Ezra’s.
„I don‘t know if you can but you can try“
You answered, closing the datapad and sitting up, stretching your arms while he opened the door.
„Didn’t know that you were on your joker era“
He said, chuckling when all you did was to shrug.
„just one of my many mysteries“
You joked, looking at him and noticing that he was hiding something behind his back.
„Care to share?“
Ezra nodded, looking kinda proud of what he was about to show her.
„Zeb and Sabine returned from the mission and..“
He revealed what he was hiding behind his back.
It was a stormtroopers helmet. A new one.
„Didn’t have this one yet, it’s perfect for my collection! What do you think??“
He asked her, his excitement evident in his voice.
„You sure do love those helmets“
You laughed, looking at it while you tried to take in it’s features.
„Well, I‘m Ezra the collector Bridger, loved by most, feared by stormtroopers“
He said proudly, acting as if he was twice the height he had, deepening his voice while he held the helmet high.
Everything you could to was to watch in awe as he spoke about his collection, starting to feel the familiar feeling again.
-
Nearly one year passed and a lot of things changed.
First, that strange feeling you had grew stronger.
Whenever you and Ezra spent time together you felt some kind of tension between you two.
At first you shrugged it off, thinking that it was just.. not gonna lie you didn’t even know what you where thinking.
But you for sure knew that you found comfort in Ezra’s presence, feeling safe around him, knowing that he’d always be there for you when you needed him, and the same counted for him.
And just as you started to understand that strange feeling you felt whenever you were around him, everything changed.
A lot happened to be honest, but the most important thing right now was that Ezra was on that ship.
The very one that was now being ‚held‘ and moved by the many purrgils you all saw through the window.
It has to be Ezra’s doing. You were sure, connecting with creatures through the force is kind of his signature move.
Everything that happened after that was just a blurr of memories.
You could only remember seeing that the purrgils where preparing themselves to jump into hyperspace.
The panicked voices of everyone, trying to convince Ezra to leave the ship.
Your attempt to bring him back.
The extra amount of concern you always felt for him was stronger then ever back then. Deep down you knew that he wouldn’t come back, not as long as Thrawn was still there. This was his chance to get rid of him and you knew that Ezra wouldn’t back down from this.
He wanted to keep his family safe.
But unbeknownst to you, he even more wanted to keep you safe.
“…. and remember, the Force will be with you. Always...”
And just like that he was gone.
There were no traces to where the purrgils could have taken the ship.
No known planets where they could have been.
Not a single hint to where he was now.
Ezra was gone and just when you saw the ship disappearing into hyperspace, you immediately felt a peng of pain in your heart.
The closeness you felt, the warmth and the little excitement were gone.
As if they never existed.
In that moment you just felt numb, slowly starting to understand everything.
Putting pieces together, recalling your memories with him, everything you felt.
All of that was gone now, replaced by a sudden worry, fear and emptiness.
It was just then when you realized that you started to fall in love with him.
That everything you felt was your body trying to tell you to listen to your feelings, to your heart instead of your brain.
It all slowly came back to you and it was just that moment when you realized that you ignored the feelings for over a year now, while he was still by your side.
You had the chance to tell him.. but instead you chose to betray your feelings, keeping your mouth shut about this, scared of you he’d react.
And now you realized that you ignored your heart for to long.
The moment you accepted your feelings for him, was the moment you lost him for maybe forever.
He was gone now and you never had the chance to tell him that he was loved.
And all you could think about was about the ‚what could have been‘, followed by the bitter truth of ‚what‘ll never be‘.
The Version you'd be living now.
-
10 years passed by and they were the longest ones of your life.
The events on Lothal plagued your mind.
His voice was a constant part of your dreams.
The memories from before that day replaying endlessly in your head.
The regret you felt since that day, of not telling him sooner or in fact just tell him about your feelings being unbearable.
The mere thought that he could be dead by now, or suffering, making you even sadder.
And now?
Ten years later, after everything that happened, you found yourself on a Planet called Perridea.
It was the purrgils’s cemetery, a destination they all had when they felt that their time had come to an end.
And now you were here, with Sabine and Ahsoka by your side.
Finally fulfilling your personal mission, finding Ezra and to bring him back where he belonged.
It was a chaotic reunion.
Some kind of crab people found you, recognizing the sign on Sabines armor.
Even if you had troubles with communicating with them, they knew Ezra’s name.
Sabine then somehow asked them if they could lead us to him, telling them that we were his friends.
And that’s how we ended up here.
Standing in between the houses of the crab creatures, looking around, taking in the sight while trying to understand that this was the place where Ezra was living for 10 years now.
„I knew I could count on you..“
The group then heard, immediately turning around to lock gazes with the person in front of them.
He stood there, leaning himself against a wall while He had a warm smile, one she didn't see in a while now.
It was him.
Ezra was here.
Just when Sabine and Ahsoka hugged him, holding him into a tight embrace which seemed to be never ending, it was your turn.
Ezra had in fact the same struggle like you.
After he was stranded here, managing to escape from Thrawns flagship, hiding himself from his troopers, he had more then enough time to think and meditate.
And one thing that he noticed was that he felt that something was missing.
Not the fact that he was trapped in another galaxy, but a certain someone.
This someone being you.
He also felt a new kind of feeling when he was around you and this feeling disappeared when he left Lothal, or well, his galaxy behind.
He realized that the only time where he followed his heart was when he sent himself away with Thrawn, straight into another galaxy.
Only to keep his family and his planet safe.
Especially you.
And just like you he was too late to accept that earlier.
One question left him sleepless during nights.
What if he had told you about his feelings before it was too late?
It all didn’t matter now though.
You were the next, looking straight into his eyes while walking closer to him.
You both pulled each other into a tight embrace, holding onto one another as if your life’s depended on it.
Taking each others warmth, scent, heartbeat and presence in.
You both were too scared to say something, not knowing what to say in the first place after all those years.
Instead you stood there, enjoying the moment and each others presence.
Ahsoka and Sabine stood before you, watching you as your hug now really seemed to be endless.
The tension between you two was undeniable, but at the same time you both were just happy to finally relax under one another’s welcoming embrace.
They both grinned, just waiting for you two to kiss already.
Sabine already shipped you both with Hera, back when Kanan was still alive.
Ahsoka started to ship you some time later, seeing you now though, reunited and relieved really filled their hearts.
For the first time in a decade now you felt complete again, and the same went for Ezra.
When you pulled apart, you both started to take in each others features.
He was a man now, the boy you once knew grew up.
„you‘ve grown..“
You whispered, a hint of hapiness in your voice.
„would be worried if not.. it’s been some time“
He tried to joke.
„Even have a beard now.. now you’re not longer Ezra the collector Bridger but Ezra Bridger the wise“
You replied, returning to his sense of humor.
„Hey..! I‘m not that much older!“
He then laughed, gesturing to his hair.
„See? Not one grey hair here. Totally young“
Ezra continued, giving you the proof you didn’t need to understand that he was mentally the same person you knew 10 years ago.
As for him, he was just happy that you managed to find him.
And when he showed you the small village, walking around and explaining them how they found him when he was in danger, he and you once again walked side by side. Very close even.
So close that your fingertips were touching his.
This time you both didn’t pull away, but you also weren’t confident enough to walk hand in hand.
Ahsoka and Sabine noticed that and couldn’t help but share knowing looks.
Old habits die hard after all.

vampire!sabine x werewolf!shin hcs
- sabine was born a human to the powerful and legendary vampire clan of wren, a branch clan of house vizsla. her mother, ursa wren, the current countess and matriarchal figure of the clan, married her human father alrich in secret.
- sabine was born prior to alrich getting turned to a vampire in an effort to save him from his lethal genetic blood disease, resulting her to carry his disease as a human-born. alrich didn't survive his changing, leaving ursa with two year old human baby sabine.
- sabine has a vampire-born younger half-brother named tristan. despite being ursa's firstborn, the clan disregarded sabine because she's human, always casting her aside like she is nothing. it gets worse as she grows older and alrich's disease began to manifest it's symptoms when she was just nine, and tristan was seven.
- sabine had never wanted to be turned, but ursa loved her daughter too much to lose her the same way she lost alrich. she was turned using her mother's blood and bite against her will. ursa's blood provided sabine half of the vampiric powers tristan and other vampire-borns possessed. sabine was thirteen when ursa turned her, and sabine had resented her mother and everyone else since.
- sabine being turned doesn't tamper any of the discrimination within the clan, the evident unhealed bite mark serves as a reminder that sabine is never truly a part of the clan, an outcast, and that she was not acknowledged as an heiress to ursa's throne. but then again, sabine never wanted any of it.
- sabine, unlike vampire-borns, doesn't have permanent elongated upper fangs or blood-red irises with black scleras. she can also still go out under the sun, but not for too long because she still retains the heightened skin and eyes hypersensitivity. her bright brown eyes turns vampiric only when she feeds, or when she taps into her supernatural powers.
- sabine doesn't live in the wren bastion anymore, sneaking away from the suffocating stonewalled ancient seat of clan wren. no one wanted her to be there anyway, and she no longer wants anything to do with being a vampire or associated with them. her mother already had a much worthier heir, anyway. she fled to the furthest of countryside, occupating an abandoned cottage on a white sediment cliff that overlooks the oceans.
- sabine was visited by tristan after some decades. watching her younger brother, now an adult full-blooded vampire, made her feel bittersweet. tristan told her that he misses her; that he wants her to come home to the bastion and claim her birthright. sabine couldn't, she doesn't want to. so, she hugs tristan tightly and lets her younger brother stay for a couple of days, before she lets him go again with no knowledge of when she could even see him again.
- sabine spent the next decades after tristan's visit hiding in low profile, constantly afraid that a member of clan wren or house vizsla would come to find her. or, even worse; hunters coming to slaughter and sell her fangs for golds. she hated the world; her clan, the hunters, the humans who are vile to vampires. but, the one person she truly hates, is herself.
- sabine doesn't feed on human blood anymore since she's in hiding. she conditioned her vampiric half to remain dormant which she buried with her human half to survive. despite so, the monster within still needs to be fed, and to compensate, sabine hunts for wild game instead. she drinks the blood, and eats the meat; that way, both halves of her remains satisfied.
- sabine finds stray juvenile vampires lurking around the town not far from her cottage, hungry and dangerous. sometimes, when they're much younger and naive, sabine uses her wren blood to intimidate them away from town. but, most of the time, sabine never bats an eye at the falling bodies, and will always stay clear for the next few weeks because she knows a vampire hunting party is assembled.
- sabine hadn't known that full blood moons enhance every single supernaturals, and that included her. she never experienced full blood moons as a vampire, and couldn't keep the monster buried when the moon began to rise in blood red hue. she hasn't fed on human blood for years, and she was famished. by the time the moon had risen to it's peak, sabine had feasted on a group of poachers in the dense forest some distance away from her cottage. when she regained control of the monster, she was mortified by what she'd done and locked herself for weeks.
- shin was initially a human orphan girl, barely scraping by daily in a remote, unnamed town in the middle of the great forest. the townsfolk doesn't know who her parents are, nor do they even know of her name. the folks sees her as some kind of looming curse, and barely anyone ever looked at her.
- shin had always been kicked and pushed and forced to work for scraps, rarely ever feeling the comfort or warmth of a home. she was always told to go to the forest to forage for fibers and woods by her last employer (if you could even call him that, from the way he treated ten year old shin), even when it's already dark outside and no one dares to leave town.
- shin was out foraging one night, like any other cold and wet nights. but, unlike any other nights, her fear was overwhelming. she knows the forest is littered with supernaturals and unknown beasts, with hunters and trappers laying out their snares for their bounties. just as she was heading back to town, a wolf trap close on one of her legs as she fell into a hole, feeling pain and cold like she's never felt before.
- shin awoke gasping, like she'd been drowning. for a brief moment she thought she was dead, because all she saw was the darkness above her. but, as she slowly regained her senses, she began feeling warmth beside her, then she sees the brilliant crackle of the fire, along with the figure of a towering man.
- shin had been wary of the man, but he–baylan skoll, as he had introduced himself–was not intending to hurt her. in fact, he was the one who saved her from bleeding out and frozen to death. baylan told her that she wouldn't survive the massive injury, not even with the vial of elixir he gave to save her earlier. shin asked why, and baylan told her she "has been seeking for death" herself.
- shin was dumbfounded, but couldn't even disagree with her saviour. death would be much more welcoming than being alive in barely liveable conditions. baylan stepped in and tells her that he can offer her a way out and to survive. he told her she could have a power such as she never imagined before; a power to not only help her survive but also thrive into something more. all shin had to do, is consent to baylan and be strong.
- shin had a feeling that she already knows what baylan is, and consents to be transformed. the fire had died sometime ago, and in the dark of the forest, baylan's eyes are glowing crimson-red. shin has heard tales of those eyes; werewolf alphas, the strongest of the werewolves. the bite was painful, but the physical transformation that follows after was undeniably excruciating.
- shin survived the transformation and was immediately taken under baylan's care, as he was the one who turned her. baylan had given her a new name to indicate her affiliation with him; hati. shin had become baylan's wolfling apprentice, following him for decades as she grew further into her powers, almost matching baylan's own. the realm hears and retells of their tales; skoll and hati, the elusive rogue wolves of the dark.
- shin lost baylan to the hands of wolf trappers and hunters who had staked out their whereabouts. they shot baylan with a bullet made of pure silver laced with wolfsbane, and her master had limped all the way from town to their hideout. shin held baylan close shen she found him, frantic as she clings to him as she felt him slipping away. the hunters are coming to finish him, he told her.
- shin cried as she begs him to hang on, and just a few moments before he breathed his last breath, baylan instructed shin to kill him with her claws and drink some of his blood, so that his powers are transferred into her. he also made her promise to burn his body so the hunters would not have his body as their trophy. despite her reluctance, shin did as told, rewarding baylan with a wolf's death instead of that from the hands of hunters.
- shin feels the power of an alpha such as baylan coursing in her veins and body just as the party of hunters arrived at their hideout. now a full alpha, shin massacred the party of ten hunters in a manner that left the scene with bone-chilling bloodbath. her true wolf form stood at seven foot tall, just a head shorter than baylan's, with a thick coat of bone-white fur, claws elongated and canines sharper than knives. shin's eyes are vermillion, both in her werewolf and true form, bloodier than baylan's.
- shin spends the next decades seething in hatred and lust for vengeance. heartells of a new rogue alpha roaming around the realm travels faster when shin always leave a trail of whatever hunter thinks they can claim bounty on her head. shin knows that killing other werewolves are taboo, because when another werewolf kills its kind, they took away the power from their victims as well. shin couldn't care less, though. if a werewolf challenges her, she never hesitated to kill and steal their powers, amplifying her own power to a magnitude beyond baylan's.
special tag for @cethlyarlo !! thank you for motivating me to finish this long overdued wolfwren supernatural au HDSKDJSK hope you enjoy it!! :D

Star Wars Rebels Incorrect Quotes
Ezra: *pulls out lightsaber* We have ways of making you talk.
Imperial officer: *nervous*
Ezra: *cuts cake*
Imperial officer: Can I have some?
Kanan: Cake is for talkers.
Mart: Big mood.
Rex: What does that mean?
Mart: Well, it kinda means, like, me too, I guess.
Rex: Thanks kid.
*1 week later at a command briefing*
Commander Sato: I’m kind of worried about this mission.
Rex: Big mood, Commander, big mood.
Sato: Mart, what did you do?
Rebel soldier, throwing a detonator: YEET!
Sato: Excuse me?
Soldier: You see, Mart told me—
Sato: WHEN WILL YOU PEOPLE LEARN?
Inquisitor: IS THAT THE BEST YOU CAN DO?
Ezra: Look, I’m 15. I’m trying very hard. You gotta work with me here, bud!
Zeb: Here’s the plan.
Zeb: I go in.
Zeb: I start hitting people hard in the face.
Zeb: And we see where that takes us.
Hera: No.
Kanan: This is not the time for your shenanigans.
Ezra: It was a single shenanigan.
Ezra: I have cat-like reflexes.
Sabine: Prove it.
Ezra: *sees a cat*
Ezra (instantly): I like that cat.
Spaceport desk person: Would a Commander Sato please come to the front desk?
Sato, arriving at the desk: Hello, is there a problem?
Desk person: I believe they belong to you?
Ezra and Sabine, simultaneously: We got lost.
Sato: I didn’t even bring you two here with me.
Ezra: On a scale of one to ten, how bad do you think it would be if—
Kanan: At least twenty.
Ezra: Oh, just so you know, it’s very muggy outside.
Hera: Ezra, I swear, if I step outside and all of our mugs are there..
Hera: [Gives Zeb the Look of Disappointment]
Zeb: [sips coffee from bowl]
Sabine: [locked up by the Inquisitor]
Sabine: [mockingly] Oh look, I’m the Inquisitor.
Sabine [slips metal pin from boot]: I’m a big scary guy with a red lightsaber.
Sabine: [begins to pick the lock on the cell door] I’m going to hunt down all the Jedi and their rebel friends.
Sabine: Gonna lock up the girl instead of killing her because she’s not really dangerous to my evil master plans.
Sabine: [kicks down the door]: Oops, she got out.
Sabine: I have a plan.
Kanan: It can’t involve blowing stuff up.
Sabine: I have no plan.
[Explosion in background]
Ezra [off camera]: This was a horrible idea.
Zeb [also off camera]: THIS WAS YOUR IDEA, EZRA!
Ezra: It’s time for Plan B.
Sabine: We have a Plan B?
Ezra: No, but it’s time for one.
Mart: I have a question.
Wolffe: Okay, shoot.
Mart: [shoots blaster at the ceiling] All right, can I ask it now?
Kanan: Go clean your bunker.
Ezra: [waves hand] I don’t need to clean my bunker.
Kanan: [waves hand] Yeah, you do.
Jonner: Oh, that’s so nice, you brought us snacks!
Mart, holding the snacks close: I never said that.
Sato: What is the proper way to deal with someone annoying you?
Ezra: A lightsaber.
Sato: No.
Ezra: Two lightsabers.
Sato: No!
Hera: I’m leaving. Kanan’s in charge while I’m gone. I’ve left notes for each of you with instructions.
Ezra: Mine just says “Ezra, no.”
Hera: And you can apply that to any situation.
Mart: If you had to separate your Loth-cat from 49 other identical Loth-cats that were all equally excited to see you, how would you determine which one is yours?
Ezra: Easy. I would take all 50 Loth-cats home.
Hera: So how are you and Chopper getting along?
Sato: I think he’s finally warming up to me.
Sato: [sees Chopper rolling by]
Sato: Hey, Chopper.
Chopper: [zaps him]
Sato: It’s a work in progress.
Ezra: Here is my award for the most direct orders ignored.
Kanan: That’s not an award. That is an angry letter from Commander Sato.
Ezra: Well, it says most, so I’m calling it an award.
Zeb: [sitting outside listening to the radio]
[something explodes in distance]
Zeb: [turns up the volume]
Sato: Are you in my ceiling, Bridger?
Ezra [muffled]: No.
Sabine: How’s it going?
Kanan: Fine. Except for this headache that comes and goes.
Rex: [enters the room]
Kanan: And it’s back.
Sabine: [looks right]
Sabine: [looks left]
Sabine: [runs through hallway] I’m such a good spy. I’m so sneaky.
Ezra: [in the vent above her; can hardly keep himself from laughing]
Phoenix Squadron Rule #56: No, the command ship isn’t haunted, it’s just Ezra in the vents.
Mart: I am the most responsible person here.
Gooti: But you just flooded the bunker.
Mart: Yes, and I take full responsibility for that.
[record scratch] [freeze frame]
Mart, narrating: Yup, that’s me. Mart Mattin Sato. Now, you’re probably wondering how I ended up in this situation.
Mart: I have two best friends I go to for advice.
Mart: One rationalizes, uses logic. and the other one hypes me up to do dumb stuff.
Mart: Balance.
Sato: For this mission we need a good pilot. Anyone interested?
Mart: [raises hand]
Sato: [sigh] Someone who doesn’t want to wreck their starfighter?
Mart: [puts hand down slowly]
Wolffe: I thought you said you knew how to fly this thing.
Mart: I said “how hard could it be?”
Wolffe: No, don’t hit the button, just press it, gently.
Mart: I am pressing it gently! It’s not working!
Ezra: You can drink drinks but you can’t food foods.
Kanan: Excuse me?
Sabine: Eza has no survival skills. His need to win has replaced them.
Mart: That can’t be true.
Sabine: Watch this. Ezra, race you downstairs!
Ezra: [shatters the window with his lightsaber] [jumps out the window] [parkours all the way to the ground]
Mart: I see what you mean.
Imperial officer: I have an army.
Sato: We have a Jedi.
Kanan: Let’s go to your happy place. Think of things you love.
Ezra: My family, the color orange…
Kanan: Okay.
Ezra: Loth-cats, Jedi stuff…
Kanan: Good.
Ezra:
The Sith Holocron
Kanan: No!
Zeb: What are you going to do?
Ezra: I don’t know. Something dramatic, I hope.
Wolffe: Do you know how to fly this thing?
Mart: We’ll see.
Wolffe: That’s a yes or no question.
Mart: Yes.
Kanan: Is everything a joke to you?
Ezra: Funny things are.
Rex: Hey kid, have you seen my helmet anywhere?
Ezra [wearing Rex’s helmet]: No. Can’t say I have, sir.
Ezra: So I have some good news and some bad news.
Sato: Good news first.
Ezra: Well, the ejector seats in the A-wings work amazing, sir.
Ezra: [trying to climb onto the roof to do a backflip off the roof]
Kanan: [Trying to stop Ezra]
Chopper: [Cheering Ezra on]
Zeb: [making a bet with Sabine on whether or not Ezra will hurt himself]
Hera, looking into the camera like she’s on The Office: I need new teammates.
[while stuck on Phoenix Nest]
Sabine: I know what to do! We should play another game of hide and seek!
Ezra: Oh no, never again.
Sabine: Why not?
Ezra: You left me in the vents last time!
Sabine: IT WAS ONE TIME!
Ezra: I WAS THERE FOR TWO DAYS!
Kanan: It’s quiet. Too quiet.
[blaster bolt barely misses him]
Kanan: To be honest, I preferred the quiet.
Mart: Four months?
Jonner: What is he talking about?
Gooti: It’s not that big of a deal-
Mart: You stood by and watched me water a fake plant for FOUR MONTHS?!
Hera: I can’t submit this mission report. Who wrote it?
Kanan: Why, what does it say?
Hera: All it says its “Bad guys went pew-pew, we went pew-pew better.”
Ezra: … Was I wrong, though?
Kanan, exasperated, in Ezra’s direction: YOU ARE A BOY, NOT A TREE!
Kanan: [casually blocks incoming blaster fire with his lightsaber]
Sabine: [resting face while throwing a detonator into the stormtroopers’ midst]
Hera: While Kanan and I are gone, you’re in charge, Ezra.
Ezra: YES!
Hera to Sabine: You’re secretly in charge.
Sabine: Obviously.
Ezra: [suspiciously walking away from Kanan’s room, snickering]
Hera: Ezra!
Ezra: What?
Hera: I was just looking for you.
Ezra: Why? I didn’t do anything.
Hera: What?
Ezra: What?
Hera: [gives Ezra the Look] What did you do?
Kanan: [walks in with whipped cream on his face] It’s not funny. I was sleeping peacefully. Very funny, Ezra.
Ezra, laughing: I didn’t.. I didn’t do it.
Kanan: Uh, well, Sabine…. I don’t appreciate—
Sabine: Don’t look at me!
Kanan: Okay, well, Hera!
Hera: Nope.
Kanan: Well, who was it then? I know it was one of you!
Sato: [smiles]
[creature roaring in background]
Ezra: DUDES! YOU’RE ON YOUR OWN! [runs away]
Sato: I am at a loss for words.
[cut to shot of Mart looking straight at the camera like he’s on The Office]
Mart: Despite being at a loss for words, my uncle scolded me for three minutes straight.
Imperial officer: Your insolence goes too far!
Ezra: Wrong. It can go a lot further.
Ezra: [reminds Sato of his younger self]
Sato: I like this kid, he’s my son now.
Kanan: Wha- wait! I already called it!
Sato: Where’s Ezra?
Rex: Doing stuff.
Sato: Then where’s Kanan?
Rex: Trying to stop Ezra from doing stuff.
Sato: So where is Sabine?
Rex: Stopping Kanan from stopping Ezra from doing stuff.
Sato: If they’re doing all that, why are you out here?
Rex: Someone has to keep you distracted, Commander.
Chopper: (translated from droid binary) <I despise you with every inch of my being.>
Mart: Well, it isn’t a lot of inches.
Ezra, barely holding Chopper back: RUN
Mart: THE FLOOR IS LAVA!
Hera: *helps Sabine onto the couch*
Chopper: *pushes Ezra off a chair*
Mart: As you can see, there are two types of people.
Mart: We have good news and bad news.
Gooti: Okay, bad news first.
Jonner: The fire we started in the bunker is out of control—
Gooti: THE WHAT—
Mart, holding a perfectly roasted marshmallow: Wow, so you don’t even care about the good news?
Ezra: I’m in me mum’s car, vroom vroom.
Hera: Get out of me car!
Ezra: Aww.
🎵You are my dad🎵
YOU’RE MY DAD!
🎵Boogie woogie woogie🎵
— Ezra to Kanan
Hera: Let me see what you have!
Chopper: *droid sounds* (translation: A knife!)
Hera: NO!
Ezra: 🎶 I want to see my little boy 🎶
Sabine: *holding Loth-cat* Here he comes!
Ezra: 🎶 I want to see my little boy 🎶
Mart, Gooti, and Jonner (gathered around a lettuce): Cabbasu, cabbasu, cab-a-su, LETTASU, LETTASU, LETTASUUUUUU!
Ezra: On all levels except physical, I am a Loth-wolf. *barks*
Mart: Hey did you hear that Joe contracted ligma? They had to do a surgery on his updog.
Sato: Who’s Joe? What’s ligma? What’s updog?
Mart: *inhales*
Sato's revenge:
Mart: Hey uncle, what are you eating?
Sato: I'm having jogan fruit and amatta. Do you want some?
Mart: What's amatta?
Sato: Nothing. What's ammatta with you?

Hanging By a Thread (4)
Prev
Bruce Wayne stares down at his phone, almost expecting it to rear back and bite him. It shouldn’t be this hard. And it wasn’t hard. He just had to call the mother of his son, that’s all. Ask when she was planning on coming to Gotham. And then ask her if they had a second child together. That was fine. Everything was fine. He had it perfectly under control.
“You’ve gotta actually hit the call button, old man.” Jason calls from the other side of the cave. Bruce glances at him and frowns. Jason was right, of course. This phone call had to happen. But he also couldn’t help the thoughts that’d been circling around ever since he’d decided to talk to Talia. There were a million questions running through his head, and he could feel the start of a headache. If Marinette was their daughter, why didn’t Talia tell him? Why didn’t she keep her? Why didn’t she bring her with Damian? Why doesn’t Damian know his sister? Why keep her a secret so many years after telling him about Damian? But instead of asking any of the questions that would certainly haunt him until he had answers, he simply says:
“Fine.” And walks to a secluded area of the cave, quickly hitting the call button before he can change his mind.
“Beloved. This is unexpected. Is our son okay?” Talia asks, answering the call almost immediately. Bruce takes a moment to breathe, letting Talia’s voice wash over him for a second. They weren’t together anymore, and they likely never would be again. But he’d loved her, once. He’d thought of spending the rest of his life with her, and despite the flaws that both of them carried, she would always hold a piece of his heart.
“Do we have a daughter?” Bruce asks, wincing slightly at his tone. He wasn’t trying to be difficult; he was trying not to get emotional. Talia’s silence was deafening, and Bruce can feel his shoulders slump. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“How do you know?” Talia asks instead of answering.
“Her parents in France sent her to stay with Alfred, because Paris is unsafe. Apparently, he knows her grandmother.” Bruce says, ignoring the twinge in his chest when he refers to someone else as his daughter’s parents. It’s not like he can claim the title, but it doesn’t make it hurt any less. Bruce raises an eyebrow as Talia swears in Arabic under her breath.
“Why didn’t they call me? Why would they- what kind of danger? Is she safe?” She asks the questions rapidly, and Bruce is once again reminded that Talia is a good mother. Their parenting styles may not align, but he knew that she cared for their children.
“She’s safe, now. Paris is under attack from a villain who controls people using their negative emotions. Her parents believed that it was best to get her out of the city because of the promise they made to you.” Bruce explains. Talia huffs.
“You would think that would include actually telling me when they decide to move her to a different country.” She complains. Bruce frowns.
“Do you communicate with them often?” He asks, and there’s a brief moment of silence.
“Not with our daughter. I haven’t spoken to her since she was an infant. Sabine, however, has kept in steady communication with me throughout the years. She’s given updates on our daughter’s wellbeing every six months, so I fail to understand why she did not say anything when this started.” Talia says, and Bruce already knows that this Sabine woman will be getting a visit from Talia very soon. Now he just needed to figure out a way to casually bring up the fact that Marinette was his daughter in conversation. Easy.
---
Jason’s eye twitches as he watches Bruce attempt to talk to Marinette. It was painful to watch and listen to. He wasn’t sure why Marinette was still in the room. If he was her, he would’ve run ten minutes ago. But no, the poor kid was stuck in the most awkward, nonsensical conversation ever. Even Bruce was afraid of Alfred’s wrath. Meaning, he couldn’t say anything directly to Marinette about being her birth father unless she brought up wanting to know her birth parents. Which, honestly, it didn’t seem like she did.
“Okay, that’s enough of that. Hey kid, wanna go do something that isn’t an awkward conversation with Bruce?” Jason asks bluntly. Bruce frowns and opens his mouth, probably to argue, but Marinette nods rapidly.
“Sure! I’ll grab my sketchbook and maybe we could go to the park?” She suggests. Jason shrugs.
“Fine by me, kid.” He says. She gives him a small smile before rushing out of the room. Jason sighs and turns to Bruce, raising an eyebrow. “Surely you can do better than that.” He says. Bruce turns his chin up and turns away.
“I don’t know what you mean.” He says. Jason snorts.
“See, sometimes you do shit like that and I’m reminded how similar you and the brat are.” He taunts. Bruce sighs.
“I was just trying to talk to her.” He says.
“Really? Cause from where I was standing, it seemed like you were trying to kill her with awkwardness. Seriously, B, it doesn’t matter if she knows you’re her dad. What matters is trying to actually make a connection with her. Talk to her, see what she likes. I have a feeling just being blood related isn’t gonna be good enough for her like it was Damian.” Jason says, crossing his arms. Bruce purses his lips, but his expression changes into the same one he uses when he’s working on a difficult case.
“Ready!” Marinette calls happily, bouncing back into the room with a small satchel slung over her shoulder. Jason grins.
“Okay, kid, ready to go explore Gotham?” He asks. Marinette nods.
“Please be careful, kids. Don’t do anything you’d normally do, Jason.” Bruce says, and Marinette raises an eyebrow.
“Isn’t the saying ‘don’t do anything I wouldn’t do?” She asks, and Jason snorts.
“It definitely is, but Bruce’s makes more sense. I’ll explain when you’re older.” He says, ruffling her hair. Marinette glares and sidesteps him, making Jason lift his hands in surrender. It was gonna be fun having a baby sister to annoy.

Miraculous Winx (Cont)
(Again, I will never do anything with this, so if anyone wants a go, have at it! 😁)
This is mostly little shit I thought of but didn’t include in the last one because, man, it got long didn’t it?
Anyway:
There are ways to tell if a spirit has chosen someone, so when Trixx chose Alya, people knew someone had been chosen, they just didn’t know who. Lila, who grew up next door to Alya, found her freaking out about being chosen, and convinced her that they could fool people into thinking Lila was chosen instead. Alya went for this immediately, and at the time, Trixx just thought it was the exact kind of hilarious prank someone they chose would pull. As the years have gone on, they’ve begun to realize that Lila is a toxic person playing on Alya’s insecurities, but they don’t really know what to do.
Despite the usual tradition about Creati and Destruk rulers not marrying, Bridgette and Felix have secretly been seeing each other for ages and wish they could be openly together. They both want to argue that as neither of them possess the spirits of Creation and Destruction, there shouldn’t be a problem with them being together.
A lot of Nino’s magic manifests as “bubbles” of sound and vibration that he can control. Once he starts working with Wayzz, he learns to make bubble-like shields.
Luka’s Heartsong ability is not only rare as hell, certain people knowing about it could put him in danger. The only people who know about it are his mom, his sister, and his … . babysitter? Family friend? Person who helped him get control, at any rate.
Usually, Plagg follows Tikki and Longg on picking his next chosen from the next heir, but every so often, he throws people a curveball and picks someone out of the line of succession. While he gives a lot of reasons, one of the main ones is usually that he’ll have had a string of chosen that were rulers of a kingdom and he’s bored out of his mind. Hey, kid, you sick of being stuck inside all day? Me too, ya wanna learn how to pick locks?
Sabine’s magic, along with her brother Wang’s, is severely “atrophied”. Fu didn’t want to risk either of the children being found, so he “sealed” their magic away. If either of them tried an active spell, it would be very hard for them. However, most magic needs some kind of outlet, and while Fu did his best, he was pretty hurt and drained when he cast those spells. So Sabine and Wang might be pretty abysmal spell casters, but their PASSIVE magic is a sight to behold, especially as they often don’t know their doing it.
Marinette’s magic was similarly sealed, but Fu didn’t use a very strong seal as Marinette was only a baby, meaning the seal was about as strong as a toothpick. The reason the seal didn’t break earlier was because Marinette was never in any kind of life-or-death danger. The moment she’s confronted with real magic danger, that seal snaps like twig.
I’m headcanoning that Magic school starts at, like, seventeenish? Like, ML is all over the place on ages, and in Winx, Bloom is supposed to a first year and she’s sixteen, so I’m kind of making up the magic School Year. Like, you have ages 5-8 as like, primary school, then 9-12 as middle or elementary, then 13-16/17 as the high school equivalent, then after that college. Like, 16-17 is the year most powers start to “settle” and people have a solid “base form” to start working off of. Like, you are physically considered an adult, or almost-adult, when your fairy/witch form settles, and the 16-17 age range is just the usual. It can be as early as 13, or as late as 25.
Because Marinette’s magic was mostly sealed, when it snaps, at first, her magic seems really inconsistent. Sometimes she’s powerhouse, other times she struggles to make a single magic spark. Her magic is basically trying to “stretch out” and “settle” now that it has the space.
the moment this “settling” happens, Marinette promptly goes through a magic-puberty speed run. Like, most kids with magic go through a magic puberty that syncs up fairly well with their physical puberty, which is almost entirely by design. Magic races Have evolved so that the two processes work together in a way that means the person develops at a natural and healthy pace. Unfortunately for Marinette, because her magic was sealed, her physical puberty is basically done, and her magic puberty senses this and tries to catch up all at once - which is basically the worst thing it can do. Marinette ends up having a miserable month of magic surges she can’t control, cramps, nausea, vertigo, chills, fevers, and several symptoms she will never admit to having, even under pain of death. When it’s finally over, she has to try and assure her new friends that this is not what she was talking about when she mentioned “monthlies”.
Partially because Marinette’s magic was sealed while she went through puberty, there are certain things Marinette is physically deficient in, because her magic didn’t develop at the same pace as the rest of her. For instance, her height is stunted. She has a few vitamin deficiencies. Her magical immune system is basically nonexistent. Some of these things will correct themselves as time goes by and her magic integrates itself into her system, but some things (like her height) are permanent.
The Order of The Guardians does exist is this universe … or it used to. There are many conflicting legends, but everyone agrees that the Order used to exist and that it would “pair” spirits with suitable chosen. No one is clear on what happened next, but the Order vanished, and now the spirits roam the galaxy, selecting their own chosen. The only clue is a certain legend on Destruk, which talks about the Spirits Shadows …
In case anyone was curious, that’s my idea on the big “villain” behind everything. Like, the Order used to exist as a kind of “bridge” between the various magic peoples, and beings they had dubbed “Guardian Spirits”, but are actually their own race, the Kwami. Like, they are still technically “deities” but they also have, like, various species. They eat. They reproduce. Anyway initially the Order existed to facilitate communication, because the Kwami were these insane otherworldly beings with immense power no one could communicate with, but they were also pretty benevolent. Eventually, someone managed to form a magic “link” with a Kwami, allowing them to communicate and the Kwami realized the link could be used to share their powers and abilities to help people, which most of them were pretty happy to do.
However.
A few of the Kwami - like, Plagg, for instance - wanted nothing to do with this, and while they didn’t antagonize anyone, the Order grew fearful (and covetous) of the powers they didn’t control. It started as little things, extra precautions, but they eventually imprisoned the Kwami within jewelry, and would only give them to their own specially picked “chosen”, ignoring the Kwami’s opinion.
Which is where they fucked up, because it turns out there’s a very specific and important reason certain people shouldn’t become chosen.
Like, the Order thought they knew everything, but they categorically did not, and they gave the Butterfly and the Peacock to the wrong people. People who never should have been chosen. People who vibed with the Butterfly and the Peacock in all the wrong ways, and, well. Nooroo’s power is metamorphosis. Transmission. Change. Which can go a lot of ways. So can Duusuu. And while both Kwami could usually try and control a link they had chosen and agreed to, this one they hadn’t. They were enslaved, and had no choice. The end result was a merged being, Shadowmoth, made up of the hatred, the greed, and the cruelty that the Kwami had endured, and of the people who hadn’t truly been “chosen”. The Order, who at least knew they were in over their heads, set out to find people who could use the rest of Kwami to fight Shadow Moth, and free Nooroo and Duusuu.
In case you were wondering, they found them. These people also, unanimously, had the reaction of “I’m sorry, you imprisoned a race of sentient beings, and now that it’s bit you in the ass, you want us to use these enslaved sentient beings to fix something you fucked up? Which of you is the villain again?”
So, the final battle goes down, but even if it didn’t completely destroy the Order’s base and fuck up the planet so much it’s magic basically ran dry, there would have been some pretty strong words for any of the Order’s survivors. The Heroes basically spent the next decade or so of life figuring out how to break the jewelry and free the Kwami, which had a pretty profound impact on the Kwami. While some were still disillusioned with humanity and left to explore the stars, some felt as if their faith had been restored by these people who had tried so hard for them. When they were free, in gratitude for the kindness these Heroes had shown, they took up positions as “Guardians” of their Hero’s family or planet, leading to at least some of the various royal families.
Now, interesting note. That planet that got all fucked up? That’s Earth. The reason it’s magic is basically gone. Well, technically, it’s not. It’s all being drained by a massive fuck-off sealing spell keeping Shadow Moth contained. By the time the Heroes got there, Shadow Moth had been “feeding” on Nooroo and Duusuu enough that they couldn’t kill it, so they instead sealed it away. And the thing is, the way the spell works, is it’s feeding Shadowmoth Magic, then using that to power the spell. And the way long term effects work, people who don’t use magic will eventually lose it, so Earth would become less and less magical, and Shadow Moth would eventually starve to death.
Only, then Fu needs a place to hide. With two magic kids, who go on to have another magic kid. And all three of those domains are Creation and Healing. And Shadow Moth … Well, it was created from the link between Kwami and chosen. Sealed away or not, that link is still there. And if you don’t know about it - if you don’t even think it’s a problem - how do you warn someone? How do you defend them? How do you even know that a being like that could use that link to, oh, I don’t know … whisper in the ears or your current chosen? Maybe even … Overshadow them?

Rebels Rewatch: "The Holocrons of Fate"
In which things get Force Weird and Maul is the actual worst.
Full disclaimer in the name of honesty, I still think Maul's "resurrection" in TCW was stupid. It will never not be stupid.
That being said, I'm glad they decided, "Well, let's actually do something interesting with him." once they had him.
Making him into a Sisyphean/Tantalus-figure--always reaching, never grasping--adds a layer of depth and tragedy to him. No matter how hard he tries, Maul will never gain what he seeks. When it's within his grasp, he will inevitably self-sabotage or have it slip away from him.
We meet him at a time in his life when he's just lost everything, again. He finds new purpose and motivation in the form of Ezra Bridger figuratively falling into his lap--here's someone to carry on his legacy, that he can mold and teach--but in his eagerness to have him, he irreparably damages any chance the boy would have had to learn from him willingly.
But like Sisyphus pushing at that rock, like Tantalus reaching for the grapes above him, he cannot stop trying.
Probably fitting that his question to the holocrons is an answer to the inevitable existential dread of his own existence.
But I'm getting waaaaaay ahead of myself, he hasn't even shown his ugly face yet.
Instead we drop in on Kanan and Ezra, on a CR90, presumably coming back from a mission they headed up. Ezra's asking after the holocron again, still not quite over his obsessive addiction to it, still hyper-focusing on it as the only good thing that could have possibly come out of the mess at Malachor.
Tumblr media
"But if not to get the Sith holocron, why did Master Yoda send us to Malachor?" That's a good question. *stares at writers*
Kanan offers up the idea that is was for "a chance to destroy the Sith." Sure we'll go with that.
Their conversation is interrupted by them coming to their destination, a rendezvous point with another Rebel ship.
Thaaaaaaaaaat Maul has almost completely murderized. This scene is one of the ones that does a really good job subtly showing off Kanan's blindness. Ezra offers commentary for Kanan's benefit throughout, Kanan has a hand out to feel, he mentions the carbon scoring smell and inclines his ear towards the sounds coming from behind a door.
The only survivor can only gasp out about a "red blade... after you." ("you" being very specifically Ezra) and that the Ghost was in danger.
Right so I'd just like to emphasize, for the fandom's sake, Maul murdered an entire Rebel ship looking for Ezra.
Kanan and Ezra assume, naturally, that "red blade" means there's a new Inquisitor after them and rush to contact the Ghost. Whereupon they discover that it's Maul who's threatening them now.
Tumblr media
And ooooooh Ezra's piiiiiiiiissed.
"No... I betrayed your friends, but I would have remained loyal to you." *rubs eyes* That's... There's not a significant emotional distinction there for Ezra, you know that right, Maul? Of course you don't.
Tumblr media
Back when fandom was Absolutely Certain that Maul was going to successfully abduct Ezra in "Twilight of the Apprentice" there were theories flying around that Sabine would have to ply her Mandalorian connections in order to get information about where he might be hiding, since we knew by then her family had ties to Death Watch. Things didn't happen that way, obviously, but it was still nice to get a nod towards that connection.
Maul proceeds to be the world's worst houseguest, forcing Hera to take him on a "tour" of the ship while he comments snarkily about each room.
Like you have room to talk mister Lived In Literal Garbage For Years.
Anyway this tour seems to be mostly a ruse to look for Kanan's holocron, and Maul very creepily and uncomfortably pulls the information out of Hera's head. (Possibly along with Kanan's real name??? It was never actually elaborated on how Maul knows "Caleb Dume", but it would make the most sense he skimmed it from Hera, to throw her defenses off guard for his stronger mind probe.)
Tumblr media
You leave mom alone you cockroach.
I know this is serious but boy I would have LOVED to hear the conversation Kanan and Ezra must have had with Sato when they got back.
"Hey we need to borrow a speeder to go out into the desert past the sensor beacon fence where all the spiders are to visit a giant weird Force Moose and retrieve a Sith Soul Jar because a creepy spike-horned Dark Side nutcase kidnapped everyone else on our crew."
I'm just picturing Sato throwing up his hands all, "Just take whatever you need."
Also amusing: the idea of Ezra trying to describe the Bendu to Kanan later.
I absolutely dig this idea of holocrons creating a Force Convergence powerful enough to grant visions. I'm always in favor of Jedi artifacts being just a little bit weird with the Force. I mean, kyber crystals sing and hum to Jedi, lightsabers are a living extension of the Force moving through them, their temples carry thousands of years of emotions and feelings sticking to the walls, why shouldn't their holocrons be able to join with Sith holocrons to make an oracle?
The Bendu says he's neutral but he's also clearly set up this little test in order to help heal the rift between Kanan and Ezra (and he gives a fond little smile when he can sense their reconciliation).
"Why take his weapon?" "He's got to learn to solve problems without it." *WEEPS IN FINALE FEELINGS REMEMBERING THAT EZRA LEFT HIS LIGHTSABER BEHIND AND RELIED ONLY ON HIS UNIQUE FORCE ABILITY TO CONNECT IN ORDER TO SAVE EVERYONE*
Lol @ Maul trying to blunt force the Jedi holocron open. My dude. My guy. You were the one to point out that Sith holocrons can only be opened by a Sith or one who thinks like them. Follows that Jedi holocrons might operate on the same principle? Maybe?
Not sure what the point is of getting to the engine room quietly given the racket y'all made literally a second ago.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is actually a new part of the ship we haven't seen before now. It's accessed both by a grate in the floor under the main central ladder and the door at the very back of the cargo hold.
And this is a really clever idea with magnetizing the hold, remembering that Maul's legs are metal. They almost pull off their own rescue here.
Tumblr media
Bastard.
Sans his lightsaber, Ezra reaches for his blaster holster instead. Except I think that's empty too, I looked but I didn't see it equipped.
Kanan senses his panic and distress from outside and follows in. This scene reminds me a little bit of when Vision!Kanan showed up in "Path of the Jedi". Not sure why, just kind of does.
Tumblr media
Ezra instinctively moves to shield Kanan from the krykna, aww.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ugh this return to that timid, self-protective pose. :( We haven't seen Ezra shield himself like that in ages and it makes him look so much smaller.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kanan tells Ezra everything Ezra's been desperate to hear for six months:
It wasn't your fault.
I never blamed you.
Forgive yourself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
<333333333
Haven't talked about the music much but this is a nice rendition of Ezra's theme here for this heartwarming moment.
Ah noooooope I like the krykna EVEN LESS now, wtf is this it's creepy.
Ezra nervous little glances as the krykna uncurl. <3
Tumblr media
Ezra passing Kanan's mask into his hand. <3
Bendu's "Once a secret is known, it cannot be unknown." was a lot more ominous in the trailers, ngl.
Kanan showing a remarkable amount of trust in Ezra, leaving the decision on whether to open up the Sith holocron or not up to him. Ezra looks trepidaciously at it a moment and then decides not to, passing it back to Kanan.
(And then he never touched the Dark Side again lol.)
I can't even be mad that Ezra got the first blind joke in. At least he beat Maul to the punch.
Hhggngnghhh I hate him so much this rat bastard trash man. He immediately takes advantage of Kanan's blindness to lead him to an airlock and tries to space him.
EZRA WASN'T EVEN OUT OF SIGHT LONGER THAN A MINUTE OR TWO, MAUL, CAN YOU NOT?!
You actually can survive the void of space very briefly. You have about 15 seconds before you pass out, possibly more if you exhale first.
Tumblr media
Uggggggggghhhh this scene makes my skin crawl, Maul is literally fresh off his second attempt to murder Kanan and orders the droids to kill the rest and Ezra is standing there completely unaware of the danger he's in or what Maul's done.
Maul bald-face lies to him and tells him his friends are fine. Just imagining the horror of what would have happened if Kanan hadn't made it back inside, how Ezra would have emerged from the holocron vision only to learn the awful truth that Maul had killed everyone he loved, that he was alone, alone with a deranged murderer who had decided he was his apprentice...
*shudder*
As they prepare to join the holocrons, it's interesting to note that Ezra's wish is a bit Dark Side tinted--he wants the answer on how to destroy the Sith--while Maul's is Light--the vaguely described "hope". Hope for what it's not clear at first. Hope for meaning? Hope for purpose? Hope for another chance to fix what he considers the point at which things went wrong? Commentary from behind the scenes has said that Maul's motivation for revenge against Obi-Wan is primarily rooted in his fixation on his failure at Naboo. "If I can just kill this guy, the person who was there when everything went wrong, it will make it all better."
I think, given that Maul had become self-consciously legacy-minded, thinking about the future he planned to create with Ezra at his side, he turned his mind backwards to unfinished business from the past, messes he still had to clean up, in order to move forward.
And that's why he manipulates the holocron vision to show him Obi-Wan's fate.
Tumblr media
This sequence is really pretty.
The music cue that accompanies this moment is not overly bombastic, but rather sly, mysterious, and eerie, high vocals mingling with strings to create an odd balance.
The resignation on Sabine, Hera, and Zeb's faces when the droids point their weapons. :(
Hera's elation when she hears Kanan there. :D The very worried Spacefamily books it to Ezra of course.
Maul doesn't see anything from the vision at first, "Only oblivion!" he says, because the path he's on can only lead him there and urges Ezra to "Go deeper!" It just occurred to me that he's basically doing what his old master Palpatine would try to do in Season Four--piggybacking off Ezra's connection and using him as a conduit to achieve what he wants. He pushes Ezra to look harder because he can't see anything himself.
The brighter burst of blinding light could have just been an effect of Maul and Ezra sinking deeper into the vision but also I like to think Maul manipulated the convergence to try to keep the others away because it swells up right when we hear Hera calling for Ezra.
This bit is so cool, the Force is so loud and present in the room that Kanan's blindness doesn't matter, he can physically see through it even with his ruined eyes. Hera's voice distorts and fades as if it's coming across a large distance even though Kanan only goes a couple steps away. The orchestra rouses with full strings and chorus. The negative film effect makes Kanan, Ezra, and Maul look like celestial figures of pure energy.
Tumblr media
THE WAY THIS IS BOTH (LITERALLY) ABOUT THE TWIN SUNS OF TATOOINE AND (FIGURATIVELY) ABOUT LUKE AND LEIA, THE CHILDREN OF THE CHOSEN ONE AND THE TWO MOST KEY PLAYERS IN THE ULTIMATE DESTRUCTION OF THE SITH.
THE WAY ALL THREE OF THEM--LUKE, LEIA, AND EZRA--ARE NARRATIVE "CHOSEN ONES" WITHOUT BEING THE IN-TEXT CHOSEN ONE, HOW THE FORCE STILL PUTS THEM IN KEY PLACES IN ORDER TO BRING ABOUT THE FULFILLMENT OF THE PROPHECY.
THE PATH TO LIRA SAN WILL BE DECIDED BY THE FATE OF THE THREE.
Ezra ultimately trusts Kanan and looks away just before Maul can discern where, exactly, Obi-Wan is. The severed connection explodes outwards, throwing them all across the room, and the holocrons are shattered.
Tumblr media
Maul's cackling and crazed body language as he stumbles out to escape make it seem like the knowledge that Obi-Wan's alive has actually driven him insane. It's quite disconcerting.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Spacefamily surrounding Ezra worriedly. <3 You have to wonder if Kanan is fearing a repeat of Ezra's collapse back in "Gathering Forces", if perhaps for a moment he's a bit too still here.
Tumblr media
Oh look the two Most Important People in Ezra's life and narrative journey!
Tumblr media
The way Kanan keeps his hand on Ezra's shoulder until the very end. <333333
With a few minor nitpicks (mostly that a few of the mysteries aren't well explained or answered, see Maul's knowledge of Kanan's real name) this is a pretty solid episode, a worthy follow-up to the premiere. We continue to settle Ezra's Dark Side temptations, burying them mostly for good in this episode, though the lingering effects it had on him emotionally will continue well into his characterization, motives, and arc down the line.
Maul is an awful bastard in this and such a good villain. :) He's so much more confident and assured of himself, clear-headed and calculating. 0 for 2 on successfully kidnapping Ezra but his menace will still pervade and influence a lot of Ezra's decisions this season.
I'll talk more about the overall effects and purpose of the holocron arc when we come to its end in "Twin Suns" but for now I'll just enjoy this episode once again, it's great.

Ahsoka Episode 7 “Dreams and Madness”: The Story, the Symbolism, and the Score
Here are my notes on episode 7 of Ahsoka.
Soft, ethereal music plays as the episode begins. The score rumbles ominously under the dialogue of the opening scene and fades out as we see that Hera Syndulla is being court-martialed for disobeying orders.
The notion that this particular Star Wars story is really a children’s fairy tale is reiterated in this scene, this time by Senator Xiono: “…this report reads like a child’s fairy tale. Jedi, false Jedi, Star maps, star whales, distant galaxies. Honestly, are we to believe any of it?”
The closed captioning indicates that emotional music is playing when a beloved character from the original Star Wars trilogy appears onscreen. John Williams’ Star Wars Main Title, a.k.a. the Skywalker theme, is heard when See-Threepio enters the courtroom. The tempo of this beloved familiar theme is slower, the notes are more elongated, and the dynamic level is softer than what we are accustomed to hearing when this heroic theme is typically used. Not only does this music indicate Threepio’s association with the Skywalker family, it also represents hope, just as it did when the world first heard it back in 1977 on the soundtrack to Star Wars: A New Hope.
The incidental music continues as Threepio presents a data transcript from Senator Leia Organa saying that she personally sanctioned General Syndulla’s mission to Seatos. In this scene we discover that Leia is the leader of the New Republic’s Defense Council.
Hera’s theme is heard after she thanks Threepio for delivering his important message.
When Mon Mothma and Hera talk after the case has been dismissed, Mon wants to know how real the threat of Thrawn’s return truly is.
“We have to prepare for the worst and hope for the best,” Hera replies as the score’s rumble of low strings segues into intense drumming. Brass instruments play a brief rendition of Ahsoka’s theme as the title card and episode title appear onscreen: “Dreams and Madness.”
Purrgil calls are heard as the massive creatures, along with Ahsoka and Huyang in the T-6 shuttle, travel through hyperspace. Inside the ship we see Ahsoka training with her lightsabers while an old Clone Wars era hologram of Anakin Skywalker plays.
Huyang tells her they are nearing their destination because the star whales’ velocity is slowing down. Ahsoka has returned to the cockpit of her ship when they exit hyperspace and fly straight into a minefield surrounding Peridea. Ahsoka’s Theme and other brass and percussion-heavy action music accompany the whales’ flight through the mines. Ahsoka’s ship is attacked by enemy fighters once they are clear of the minefield.
This is followed by a segue to a scene of the Chimaera docked at the Nightsister fortress. Enoch makes a report to Thrawn about the fighters’ pursuit, and Thrawn receives a report from Morgan Elsbeth about Ahsoka’s former Jedi master’s identity. Anakin Skywalker is a threat that Thrawn has encountered before. Thrawn was, at one time, one of the handful of people who knew that Anakin Skywalker later became the infamous Sith Lord, Darth Vader.
(This tale is told in Timothy Zahn’s novel Thrawn: Alliances.)
The Grand Admiral is determined to be one step ahead of Ahsoka because he expects her to be as unpredictable and dangerous as her former master.
Gentle music plays as Ahsoka flies into the star whale graveyard and Huyang scans for Sabine’s location.
Harp music accompanies a scene change. We see the Noti pods traveling to a different location on Peridea. Ezra is driving one of the larger pods, and a Noti goes inside of the pod, switching places with Sabine, who sits next to Ezra as he drives.
Tumblr media
“I never really thought about how much I’ve missed,” Ezra says as Sabine and the Noti baby in the next pod wave at each other. Ezra and Sabine certainly have missed out on a lot of things, especially the time they could have spent together developing their relationship, perhaps a romantic relationship that could have led (and might still lead) to marriage and children. This is the second time Sabine has noticed the Noti baby. This could be foreshadowing that she might become a mother herself one day. Quiet, gentle music accompanies Sabine and Ezra’s conversation. Ezra wants to know how Sabine found him and she replies, “It’s complicated,” a description that also applies to their relationship.
When Ezra asks about Ahsoka, a mournful quotation of Ahsoka’s theme is played by a French horn softly under their dialogue, reminding the audience that Sabine believes Ahsoka is dead, but she doesn’t tell Ezra about this for fear of the questions he might ask.
We hear intense drumming when we see Baylan and Shin riding howlers along with the red-armored bandits. Low rumbles accompany the arrival of the Great Mothers at the henge. Morgan’s Theme (the Nightsister theme) is heard as the three speak in unison, activating their golden orbs, and creating a triangle of red energy to connect them.
When Ahsoka senses Sabine through the Force and calls out to her, the Nightsisters also sense their link. They discover and reveal the location of Ahsoka and Huyang.
When Baylan and Shin find Sabine and Ezra, Baylan tells Shin to contact Thrawn and kill Sabine and Ezra then take her place in the coming Empire. “Your ambition drives you in one direction. My path lies in another,” he says.
Although Baylan’s sinister theme is heard in this scene, when Baylan makes his cryptic remarks, ethereal choral music is heard. I believe that this music is foreshadowing a mystery that this series has yet to reveal. This is a quote from my notes on the previous episode: “Choral music suggesting the mysticism of the fallen Jedi Order is heard as Baylan speaks of Peridea being a realm of ‘dreams and madness’ from old ‘children’s stories come to life.’ Once again, the viewer is reminded that we are being told a fairy tale, a myth.” The big mystery must involve the Force in some way. Perhaps Baylan is seeking a power to help him rebuild, or maybe replace, the old Jedi Order. “Impatience for victory will guarantee defeat” might be a quote he needs to remember later on.
The red garbed alien bandits riding howlers remind me of J. R. R. Tolkien’s warg-riding orcs. The music for this scene is reminiscent of Howard Shore’s score for The Lord of the Rings films, momentarily making use of similar instrumentation, harmonies, and orchestral textures.
Thrawn’s stormtroopers are sent out in Imperial patrol gunships which appear to be a visual callback to the Rebels animated series.
Intense music plays throughout the chase scene and battle that follows it, as Sabine, Ezra, and the Noti defend themselves from the red bandits. As in old Hollywood Westerns, Ezra has the Noti “circle the wagons” (pods) to make a stand. Ahsoka’s ship is shot at by the fighters as she heads towards their location. Sabine and Ezra exit their pod as Shin arrives. Ahsoka makes a sliding leap from the ship as Huyang flies close to the planet’s surface.
We hear the sound of what the Kiners call “alien war horns” as Baylan and Ahsoka’s confrontation begins. This is accompanied by intense drumming.
Sabine offers Ezra his lightsaber and one of her blasters but he refuses, claiming that the Force is his ally.
Ahsoka and Baylan duel. Shin attacks Ezra and he deflects her lightsaber with the Force alone.
Baylan: “You can’t defeat me.”
Ahsoka: “Perhaps I don’t have to.”
Fighters chase the T-6 as Huyang evades their attack. Ahsoka abandons her duel with Baylan, riding away on his howler.
Thrawn wonders why Baylan isn’t at the battle site.
Ezra saves Sabine by using a Force pull to tug her away from Shin. They are surrounded by stormtroopers. Ezra comically tries to convince them to take them as prisoners.
Tumblr media
Ahsoka arrives. Ezra and Sabine shoot and blow up several troopers while Shin and Ahsoka fight.
Back at the henge, Thrawn views the mission as a success but Morgan only sees their enemies reunited. The mysterious cargo transfer to the Chimaera is almost complete. We learn that the attack was to keep Thrawn’s enemies distracted. He believes time is on his side.
When the troopers battling the heroes are given orders to move out, Ahsoka tells Shin to surrender her weapon and even offers her help but Shin runs away.
Sabine’s theme is heard when she says “Ahsoka—I thought you were dead.” Ahsoka hugs Ezra. Ezra says he has a feeling that he might be going home after all. One lovely character moment that stood out in this scene was when Ezra comforted a Noti by holding hands with the little creature and speaking quietly to it, like a father soothing a frightened child. (I know I watch every episode with shipper goggles on, but was this more foreshadowing?)
The music here is a version of the end credits music, the variant of Ahsoka’s theme that is heard when all seven of the golden lines on the map reach Peridea. I think that the seven lines may represent Ahsoka, Sabine, Ezra, Huyang, Baylan, Shin, and Morgan. All of the main pieces have been assembled on the board, but who is the chess master? Is it Thrawn, or is it the three Nightmothers who were named after the Fates themselves?

We are SEVEN EPISODES into this eight episode season and we STILL don't even know why Ahsoka left Sabine the first time they trained together. The closest we got was Baylan saying that Ahsoka didn't help Sabine save her family from being killed, which could mean ANYTHING. If it's referencing the glassing of Mandalore, then what the fuck was Ahsoka supposed to do about that? If Clan Wren was in danger some OTHER way, maybe Ahsoka was busy helping someone else and couldn't show up? If Ahsoka genuinely DID just abandon Clan Wren because she was a bitch who didn't want to help, then I feel like that's a character flaw that should get addressed at some point.
But we've got SO LITTLE TIME left on this season and they've left so much out. I know a second season is supposed to be coming, but this history between Ahsoka and Sabine came out of fucking nowhere and it's gotten ZERO explanation.
We don't know why they started training together, why Sabine wants to be a Jedi at all when it was never something she wanted (or could actually DO) back in Rebels, or why Ahsoka would even WANT to train Sabine at all and how she approached that. This relationship is the core of this entire show and we don't know jack all about it. We have characters like Hera and Huyang telling us that they were "good together" or whatever, but we have no context for that at all and none of it makes any sense. The core relationship of this show should not be something that waits until the second season to be explained, in my opinion.

BRIDGETTE: SCARLET DANCER ERA
ML AU PT.3
When Bridgette was 16, she was given the ladybug miraculous from Sabine. Sabine told her she herself wasn't in the condition to wear it anymore, and that it was safer with Bri. Sabine didn't explicitly tell her daughter to take up the responsibilities of Ladybug, but began to be her mentor and train her when Bridgette expressed an interest to protect the city.
Deciding against keeping it a secret from Marinette, Bridgette confided in her little sister since they shared a room and Mari would get suspicious eventually. Tikki grew fond of both girls and stayed a member of the family- hanging out with the four at meals and other home family activities.
Felix was gifted the Black Cat miraculous from his mother Amelie, and kept it secret from everyone else in his extended family while she trained him.
Felix and Bridgette were partners, going by the names of "Tuxedo" and "Scarlet Dancer". No other miraculous holders joined them in their time, but the two helped out with crimes and helped everyday civilians out in this quiet peace.
Tuxedo was a more serious Chat Noir, and served as the reasonable and pragmatic one. He did have a sense of humor, and was often laughing when around the more joking and carefree Scarlet Dancer. The two had feelings for one another, Ladybug taking a liking to Chat first soon after meeting, and Chat beginning to grow fond of her after a while. They never told each other how they felt during this time.
Around a year and a half in of the current Ladybug and Chat Noir, Emilie's health declined, and she fell into a coma. This spurs Gabriel's reluctant transformation into Hawkmoth.
Hawkmoth sets an akuma in the beginning of the day to wander around itself in search of a vulnerable enough host, so he doesn't really know when an akuma attack will begin. (It's also his way of trying to lessen the guilt of subjecting innocents in this- but the guilt still hits hard).
Using the broken brooch alongside the overwhelming power from Null drains Gabriel very easily, causing him to grow gradually weaker the more he uses the miraculous.
As akuma attacks begin, Bridgette and Felix are in unfamiliar territory that even their mentors are unsure about.
Tikki teaches Bridgette how to purify akumas, and the more enemies they fight, the more Tikki notices similarities in their powers and mannerisms to that of old fae friends that she had known in eras past. Tikki concludes that these strange akumas are not just the work of the butterfly miraculous, but Null as well- and that he's the one fusing akumas with the powers and fae he's absorbed. Purifying the akuma causes the faerie's spirit to pass on.
There is no miraculous ladybug cure, but when a faerie's spirit passes on, its energy undos any physical damages the akuma itself caused to the city.
As the attacks seem to get more dangerous, Sabine pleads with her daughter to stop, but Bridgette refuses- knowing that she needs to save the city and be there for her partner.
This routine goes on for months, until an especially dangerous akuma comes into play. This battle lasts two days until Ladybug was able to purify the akuma- but not without a cost.
Felix's legs were badly hurt in the battle, and Bridgette hoped purifying the akuma would heal his wounds but it didn't. He asks her to take him to a specific alleyway, where Scarlet cries and apologizes and Tuxedo promises her they'll be okay. But he says that she has to go or else she'll see who he is, and convinces her to leave. When she's gone, he calls Amelie to pick him up and tells her what happens when she arrives.
When Bridgette comes home, she gives Tikki the earrings and tells the fae to find a more suitable holder. Tikki objects, but Bri is adamant that she has failed and let her partner get hurt. She refuses to take the earrings back, and only begins to cry again when Tikki has flown out the window with the earrings. Marinette comes home to her crying, and listens to what happened, and sits with Bri through the night.
Tikki, unsure of where to go and reluctant to leave the only family she's known for centuries, hides in the cluttered attic and ponders what to do.
Felix is hospitalized and is told that he is paralyzed in both of his legs from the injury. Realizing he can no longer be Chat Noir, Felix gives the ring to Adrien hours later when he comes to visit and asks him if he'd take on the responsibility- or at the very least return the ring back to Amelie at a later date if Adrien chooses not to. His young cousin talks with him and finally decides to keep the ring, introducing himself to Plagg and letting Felix and the faerie say a proper goodbye before he leaves.
When Gabriel learns of Felix's injury that is too close to Chat Noir's injury, he puts the two together and falls into a bad state. Refusing to send out more akumas because of what he's done to hurt his nephew, Gabriel calls off the deal with Null, telling him to release Nooroo and find another to do his bidding. But Null refuses.
From using the broken miraculous, Null's power, and emotional grief, Gabriel is extremely vulnerable. Using this as an opportunity, Null uses the powers of multiple faeries and takes control of Gabriel's body.
Null visits Felix in the hospital, looking out for the ring but sees nothing. Felix quickly suspects something is wrong with his uncle and calls Amelie when Null leaves.
Amelie, who is with Adrien at this time since he came right to her after his visit to Felix to see Amelie as his mentor, hangs up the call and asks her nephew if Gabriel has been acting differently recently. Adrien tells her about how he's been really tired, but he's always tried to spend time with him when he could like usual so he'd just been chalking it up to work.
Amelie knows there's more they don't know, but until they know exactly what- advises Adrien to be careful. Knowing well how to hide things from her own ex kingpin father growing up, she gives him pointers on how to hide Plagg and the ring well and sneak around. With promises to visit often and do his best, Adrien goes home, leaving Amelie worried for all members of her family.
