A very fun mix-n-match Sailor Moon flat-color commission! From left to right, we’ve got Princess Sailor Moon from the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon live-action TV show, classic Sailor Moon, Eternal Sailor Moon, and Neo Queen Serenity wearing an unused final form outfit called La Cygne.
The requested concept was that Usagi and Serenity, as separate entities, may sometimes come into conflict, but eventually can find accord! I thought it was a very cool idea (and of course, I’m always excited to draw beautiful outfits and oodles of swooping long hair :D)

Happy birthday Hotaru my gift to you is all the shit I did for you in ReStart. wall of text below
Hotaru 1.0 (土萠ほたる) is the daughter of Tomoe Souichi, de jure leader of the Death Busters after a lab accident that killed her mother and burned her right arm and leg causing her severe chronic pain that's only eased by the Taioron Crystal.
She gets used as the vessel for Mistress 9 that will awaken once the Death Busters fill the Taioron Crystal with the power of the Grail OR Hotaru kicks the bucket. The Let's Kill Hotaru For The Good Of The World Gang (which in the AU is the Outers plus Minako) does actually end up killing her against Usagi's wishes but WHOOPS THAT WAS A BAD IDEA NOW WAS IT.
Saturn awakens, does her thing, Usagi solves it, yadayadayada. When she's reborn as a baby Pluto takes her and puts her in a hospital in the future because I'm not about her murderers raising her as her own pretending like nothing happened.
She gets adopted and named Doei Hotaru (土栄蛍) so now we have Hotaru 2.0. While she doesn't have superficial injuries like 1.0 she still keeps the chronic pain from her but she manages with meds (and later her powers once she transforms).
Her first name is kanji (surname) and hiragana (given name) but translates to "firefly sprouting from the earth." Her second name is all kanji and translates to "firefly flourishing from the earth". A subtle change but I feel it fits lol
SilMil Saturn is inspired by bugs obviously and her mask is lightly based on them classic plague doctor masks. Her fuku is also loosely based on the rejected La Cygne Sailor Moon design.
Saturn 2.0 is basically canon Saturn bar the sleeves (she gets them with the upgrade) and her brooch is rounded yet unique because like the other Senshi that don't quite fit the hierarchy she uses one to transform. Phrase is still Saturn Planet Power Make Up. She also gets a more elaborate glaive.

Twisted Wonderland AU
Ok ok ok,
Just hear me out..
Ahiru from Princess Tutu as Yuu!
And she helps deescalate overblotting when she dances ballet as Princess Tutu (like during their flashback to traumatic childhood moments)
I don't know if this would be like Sailor Moon/ Superman where no one but Grimm and the ghosts (and maaaaaybe Crowley?) know she and Tutu are one and the same.
Lilia totally knows and keeps saying vague things that confuddle Ahiru about whether or not her identity is discovered.
Jack maybe knows, or at least assumes they are related if not the same person.
Ace keeps saying things like "Man, you're such a klutz! You know who isn't a klutz? That pretty ballerina." While Deuce is all “She seems strong…I’d like to fight her!” please don’t
Maybe Idia, Ortho, Cater, and/or Rook would be the ones actively trying to find out her identity. Rook even dubs her "La Princesse des Cygnes."
All of the post-blotted dorm leaders + Jamil would look back on the calming dance with the mysterious princess fondly, even if some *Leona* won't admit it. Some might even developed a crush on the beautiful and gentle ballerina??
Malleus meets Ahiru as she is in her normal- klutzy - human form, and becomes fascinated by her without even knowing or being interested in the rumors of "La Princesse de Cygnes.”
Gym Class? Despite Coach Vargas's well-intentioned —though mostly overwhelming —support, Ahiru trips over her own feet, and cannot be trusted with a broom.
Alchemy Class? Professor Crewel makes Ahiru sit in a corner and do-not-move-a-muscle-for-the-seven's-sake so that no vials shatter and no potions that should't go together won't mix. Somehow, explosions still happen.
History Class? Professor Trein sees Ahiru as a well-behaved - well, as best as she can - student, but for some reason his cat finds reasons to pounce at her and scare her, disrupting the class.
If she still randomly turns into a duck:
Leona finds her duck version and -surprisingly- is quite sweet to the duckling (a more gentle and less sinister version of Scar teasing and playing with the mouse after the opening of The Lion King) before Ruggie interrupts him, and Duck-Ahiru scampers away in fright when Leona sarcastically tells the hyena he interrupted his lunchtime. Whoops.
Grimm doesn't actually attempt to eat Duck-Ahiru despite constant empty threats he'll do so whenever he and Ahiru argue. He actually comes zooming to her aid if he perceives the duckling to be in danger (much like Archimedes saving Wart/ Arthur when the latter was a fish in The Sword and the Stone.), though he quickly denies actually worrying about her and insists it'd be inconvenient if he lost his minion.
Prince Mytho Role:
Malleus, but actually interested in Ahiru from the start? Amused -and touched - that even though she seemed terrified of him at first, Ahiru actively makes an effort to get to know him till she's not even phased by his intimidating appearance and comfortably interacts with him.
Fakir Role:
Leona, in that he's rough and teasing to Ahiru, but is surprisingly gentle with Duck!Hiru, and maybe shows his hidden soft side to her. Big flustered tsundere when he one day puts two and two together and realizes why this cute and sweet little duck's scent is so similar to Ahiru's.
Just something I thought would be fun.

Do you like Sailor Moon La Cygne design? Is there anything you`d want to change in it?
Huh, and here I was worried I was betraying The Brand™️ when I proposed those redesigns without the sleeves. Good to feel somewhat absolved.
As for what I think about it, let's see. The headpiece, the wings, and the sheer overskirt I like. I'd prefer the shoes and gloves without the sheer fabric on top, however, and better take the moons out of the wrists as well. As for the same fabric on the shoulders, that can leave, it's pointless. The gold trim on the top isn't ugly per se, but a square neckline on something so otherwise bare looks pretty pathetic and it makes the charm no favors. That leaves the skirt itself. In all honesty and fairness I at least find it kind of interesting, but that doesn't make it good. The blooming waistband makes it seem like she's swimming on that thing, and while the pose covers it a lot I'm pretty sure that if she were standing straight the layering of the whole thing would overall look like a cinderblock with the sheer overskirt sprouting out of nowhere.
And lastly, of course, I hate the primary color imbalance. I'm going to be honest, when I put up the poll about the color variations I made on that Eternal redesign I was surprised that the pink version lost, because I personally thought it was the cutest out of the 3. Alas, it seems primary colors are a must for dearest, iconic Usagi's brand, but like... There's a reason for the way they're distributed the way they are in the original costume. Yellow and red are too flashy, so blue needs to balance them out by catching your attention as immediately as possible while the other two highlight the accessories. I tried my best with my Doll Divine versions, but much like La Cygne here the moment you take that protagonism away from the color blue the harder it is to integrate it.
In summary, La Cygne gets a "there's some good ideas here weighted down by horrible execution"/10 rating.

Eternal Sailor Moon and La Cygne Sailor Eclipse.
Long story short, I overhauled my character Sailor Void, a rival for Usagi whose motivation I was never able to get down, into someone with an actual connection of some sort to Usagi; largely inspired by a commission Yuutan got of Sailor Moon and Serenity as separate entities. I did modify Sailor Eclipse's La Cygne form to reflect her own colours and lack of companions (and also to be drawn more than once).
Like any good rival, Sailor Eclipse is laser-focused on Sailor Moon and would rather that Usagi figure things out herself.

Really random but I've been thinking about making a Sailor Moon au based on early/scrapped Sailor Moon concepts (if that makes sense)? Like Sailor V, Sailor Moon La Cygne, that kinda stuff :)

Didn't Sailor Stars originally plan on using an anime-original outfit for Usagi, before deciding to go with the manga's Eternal look? I think that outfit had a French name or something.
That’s correct! Although as far as I know, the design was never given a name. It’s known informally by fans as “Fukano Moon.” The name comes from Youichi Fukano, an illustrator and character designer who worked on Sailor Moon and designed Sailor Moon’s potential look.
(second image comes from Three Lights, who has scans of a number of Fukano’s other works as well)
Personally, I think the design is absolutely beautiful and I love how it incorporates elements of both Eternal Sailor Moon and Neo-Queen Serenity’s designs. I think it would have acted as a cool bridge between Usagi’s Sailor Moon and Neo-Queen Serenity forms. Oh well, I still like Eternal Sailor Moon’s design.
EDIT: This design was actually called "Sailor Moon La Cygne" or "Sailor Moon Swan"!
