yk how sam and dean have code words for things, like poughkeepsie and funky town?
i have a hc that whenever dean and sam are on a hunt, and deans keeping lookout while sam goes to get info or deal with a ghost or whatever the circumstances, and something goes wrong and they need to get away fast they make up a code words using songs too
i imagine sam running out of a building getting chased by something that neither of them were prepared for, and sam just screaming “dean!! motley crue!!”
dean, panicked at first, instantly smirking and going “hell yeah” and scrambling to fit in a tape of motley crues ‘kickstart my heart’ and fucking revving baby’s engine then right when sam jumps into the car at the beat drop, dean fucking FLOORS IT.
#spn#supernatural#dean winchester#sam winchester#the winchester brothers#sam and deans codewords#cuz i think they r smart but also fun#motley crue has songs that make you wanna run 5 red lights and floor it on a highway#and i think dean JUMPS at the opportunity to let baby go as fast as she fucking can#getaway driver dean ftw#spn hcs

i would've loved more scenes with sam and dean's codewords in general, i think they're a really good way of showing them having their own language and being in their own world, maybe there could even have been a scene of other hunters like bobby not understanding them. but what i would've also liked is to see is sam forgetting them after the cage. that he couldn't relate to dean like that anymore, that stuff that used to be entirely theirs and comforting now seems like gibberish and somewhat alien to him. to force dean to recognize how much sam was affected by the passage of time in the cage, that maybe sam doesn't even remember the year or decade in which they came up with codewords at all. it would be a small thing but it would mean a lot i think.

Dean and Y/N pull into the parking lot in the Impala; when they see Sam through the window of his room, Dean sighs in relief.
"Oh, thank god you're okay..."
"I told you," Sam moves aside, revealing Ava through the window. Dean smiles, and Y/N huffs out a laugh.
"Oh, you're better than okay. Sam, you sly dog!"
==
The recording continues; Sam is leaning over the table, looking more concerned.
"What else does the yellow-eyed man say?"
"He has plans for me. He says there's a war coming. That people like me, we're going to be soldiers. Everything's about to change," The recording ends.
"He's not talking about us, right?"
"Yeah, I think he is," Sam says.
"But how can we turn into that?"
"I don't-" The window above Sam's head shatters as it's hit with a bullet. He dives to the floor with Ava, shielding her body with his. "Get down!"
"Oh my god!" Across the street, a familiar man is on a rooftop with a sniper rifle; he continues to take aim and fires at the motel room. "What's happening?"
"I don't know." As the man is about to take another head-shot at Sam, Dean and Y/N come up from behind him.
"Gordon!" He shouts. Dean kids Gordon hard, then pins him down on his back, hitting him over and over again in the face. He grabs him by the collar.
"You do that to our brother, we'll kill you!"
"Dean, wait." Gordon manages to grab the rifle and slams it into Dean twice, knocking him out. Y/N comes over to him, but Gordon fires his rifle, it hits skims past her arm, cutting her shirt, and causing blood. She falls to the ground, holding her bleeding arm, groaning in pain. Gordon stands over her, panting and gushing blood from his lip before he hits her with the butt of his rifle, knocking her out.
==
Ava and Sam investigate the roof from which Gordon was shooting at them.
"Wait, I don't understand. Shouldn't we be talking to the cops?" Sam is kneeled down beside a patch of blood, belonging to Y/N.
"Trust me, that wouldn't do us much good," picking up a shell, next to the patch of blood. "These are .233 caliber. Subsonic rounds. The guy must have put a suppressor on the rifle."
"Dude, who are you?"
"Oh. I just, uh, I just watch a lot of TJ Hooker." He pulls out his cell phone.
"Who are you calling?"
"My sister. I think we definitely need help."
==
Dean and Y/N are tied to chairs, and Gordon is holding the phone to her ear.
"Hello?" Y/N says, all while keeping her eyes directly glaring into Gordons.
"Y/N!"
"Sam, we've been looking for you."
"Yeah. Look, I'm in Indiana, uh Lafayette."
"I know."
"You do?" Gordon moves the phone to Dean.
"Yeah, we walked to Ellen. Just got here ourselves. It's a real funky town. You ditched me, Sammy."
"Yeah, I'm sorry. Look, right now there's someone after me."
"What? Who?"
"I don't know, that's what we need to find out. Where are you two?"
"We're staying at, uh 5637 Monroe St. Why don't you meet us here?"
"Yeah. Sure," Sam says before hanging up.
"Now, was that so hard?"
"Bite me," Y/N says.
==
At the motel roof, Sam is putting his phone away, looking worried.
"What is it?"
"My brother and sister's in trouble."
"What?"
"He gave me a codeword. Someone's got a gun on them."
"Codeword?"
"Yeah. Funky town," There is a short pause. "Well, he thought of it. It's kind of a... long story. I... come on."
==
Gordon has his back to Dean and Y/N; he opens a canvas and starts pulling out weapons. Dean looks to Y/N with a concerned look, gesturing his head to the wound on her arm.
"I'm okay," she mouths. "So Gordy, I know us two and Sam ain't exactly your favorite people, but don't you think this is a little extreme?"
"What, you think this is revenge?"
"Well, we did leave you tied up in your own mess for three days," Y/N laughs.
"Which was awesome. Sorry, I shouldn't laugh," she says.
"Yeah. I was definitely planning on whuppin' your ass for that."
"I'd like to see you try."
"But that's not what this is. This isn't personal. I'm not a killer. I'm a hunter. And your brother's fair game," Gordon slams a knife into its sheath. Dean and Y/N share a look of shock.
==
Sam and Ava approach her blue VW beetle.
"I don't think I should leave," she says.
"I want you out of harm's way, Ava."
"What about you?"
"Harm's way doesn't really bother me."
"No, but you are walking right into your visions. I mean, this is how you die."
"Doesn't matter. It's my brother and sister."
"Maybe I could help!"
"You've done all you can. Just, just go back to your fiancé."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I'm sure. Go home, Ava. You'll be safe there." Ava gets into the car.
"Well, just, promise me you'll call, then. I mean, when you get your siblings, just to let me know that everything's all right."
"I promise."
==
Gordon is leaning against a pillar, cradling a rifle and speaking casually.
"See, I was doing an exorcism down in Louisiana. Teenager girl, seemed routine, some low-level demon. But between all the jabbering and the head-spinning, the damn thing muttered something. About a coming war. And I don't think it meant to, it just kind of slipped out. But it was too late. Piqued my interest. And you can really make a demon talk, you got the right tools."
"And what happened to the girl it was possessing?" Dean asks.
"She didn't make it," Y/N shakes her head.
"Well, you're a son of a bitch," Gordan then stands up and slaps her across the face.
"Hey!" Dean shouts, struggling in his restraints.
"That's my momma you're talking about" Y/N glares up at him with anger in her eyes "Anyway. This demon tells me there are soldiers to fight in this coming war. Humans, fighting on hell's side. You believed me? I mean, they're psychics, so they're not exactly pure humans, but still. What kind of worthless scumbag have you two got to be to turn against your own race?" Dean and Y/N glare. "But you know the biggest kick in the ass? This demon said I knew one of them. Our very own Sammy Winchester," Dean chuckles.
"Oh, this... this is a whole new level of moronic, even for you."
"Yeah? Come on, Guys. I know. About Sam's visions. I know everything."
"Really? Because a demon told you?" Y/N laughs. "Yeah, and it wasn't lying."
"Hey, Y/N. I'm not some reckless yahoo, okay? I did my homework. Make damn sure it was true. Look, you've got your Roadhouse connections, I got mine. It's how I found Sammy in the first place." Gordon crosses to the corner and sits. "About a month ago I found another one of these freaks here in town. He could deep-fry a person just by touching them."
"Yeah, did he kill anyone?"
"Well, besides Mr. Tinkles the cat? No. But he was working up to it. They're all gonna be killers, Guys. We've got to take them all out. And that means Sammy too," Gordon cocks the rifle.
"You think Sam's stupid enough to walk through that front door?" Y/N says.
"No, I don't. Especially since I'm sure you found a way to warn him. Ha. You really think I'm that stupid," Dean raises his eyebrows meaningfully; Gordon stands and starts pacing. "No. Sammy's going to scope the place first, see me covering the front door. So, he's going to take the back. And when he does, he'll hit the tripwire. Then—" He takes a grenade from his bag. "Boom."
"Sam's not gonna fall for a friggin' tripwire."
"Maybe you're right. That's why I'll have a second one." There is a small pause. "Hey, look. I'm sorry. I wish I didn't have to do this; I really do. But for what it's worth, it'll be quick."
==
Gordon is setting up the tripwire across the back doorway; he returns to the room where Dean and Y/N are tied up and straddles a chair.
"Come on, man. We know Sam, okay, better than anyone. He's got more of a conscience than I do; I mean, the guy feels guilty surfing the internet for porn."
"He's right," Y/N says. "Hell, I remember he felt bad for using my face cream."
"Maybe you're right. But one day he's going to be a monster."
"How? Huh? How's a guy like Sam become a monster?"
"Beats me. But he will."
"No, you don't know that!" Y/N says.
"I'm surprised at you, Guys. Getting all emotional. I'd heard you two were more professional than this. Look, let's say you two were cruising around in that car of yours and, uh, you had little Hitler riding shotgun, right? Back when he was just some goofy, crappy artist. But you knew what he was going to turn into someday. You'd take him out, no questions, am I right?"
"That's not Sam."
"Yes, it is. You two just can't see it yet. Guys, it's his destiny. Look, I'm sympathetic. He's your brother, you two love the guy. This has got to hurt like hell for you two." He reaches into his bag and pulls two scarfs, stands. "But here's the thing." Gordon gags Dean and Y/N with the scarfs. "It would wreck him. But your dad? If it really came right down to it, he would have had the stones to do the right thing here. But you're telling me you're not the man he is?" Dean glares furiously and Y/N looks away.
Sam approaches the cabin, holding up the sheet of motel stationary. He sees Dean, Y/N, and Gordon, through the boarded-up window, then runs around back. He tries the door and finds it locked; he pulls out his lockpick and works it open. The clicks from the door can be heard in the front room; Dean and Y/N look around wildly.
"Ya hear him?" In the back room, Sam gets the door open and creeps in "Here he comes" Dean flinches helplessly and Y/N's eyes widen as the first grenade explodes. Dean screams at Gordon through his gag and Y/N tries to scream for Sam "Hold on. Not yet. Just wait and see" As the second grenade goes off, Dean shuffles violently, choke-sobbing through the gag. Y/N has her head down, sobbing. Gordon crosses the room and stops beside them.
"Sorry, Dean, Y/N" Dean starts to struggle in his chair, but Y/N stays still, her head still down. Gordon goes into the back room, rifle ready. He sees Sam's smoking boots on the ground. He smiles but is still wary. As he turns away from the back door, a gun is raised to the back of Gordon's head and is cocked.
"Drop the gun" Sam says low and warning.
"Shouldn't take your shoes off around here. You might get tetanus"
"Put it down now!" In the front room, Dean and Y/N turn, hearing Sam's voice, and they grunt in relief. Out back, Gordon slowly lowers the rifle to the floor.
"You wouldn't shoot me, would you, Sammy? Because your siblings, they thinks you're some kind of saint"
"Yeah? Well, I wouldn’t be so sure"
"See, that's what I said" He turns quickly, knocking the gun out of Sam's hand and attacking him methodically until he goes down. In the front room, Dean and Y/N hear the scuffle and the two struggle against the ropes, groaning in frustration.
Out back, Gordon slowly approaches Sam, who's flat on his back, coughing. Gordon pulls out his knife. "You're no better than the filthy things you hunt" As Gordon raises the knife, Sam lashes out, flipping Gordon over. He punches him twice, then grabs the rifle and points it at his head "Do it. Do it! Show your siblings the killer you really are, Sammy" Sam hesitated, then slams the butt of the rifle into Gordon's head, knocking him out.
"It's Sam" Sam shuffles exhaustedly into the room where Dean and Y/N are tied up; the two look up emotionally as they watch Sam approach. Sam claps Dean on the shoulder and Y/N's hand as he kneels between them. He unties Dean's right arm who starts untying himself. Sam then unties Y/N's arms and the twins pull down their gags frantically, as Sam finishes untying their legs, Dean stands, and pulls Sam up to standing. He cups his hand around Sam's neck, staring at him closely, cataloging the injuries, and Sam nods at him. Y/N stands up and Sam faces her, she gasps.
"Oh, no, Sammy...What did that bastard do to you" she says, placing her hand on his cheek, Sam flinches at the stinging feeling and she reels her hand back. Dean wheels around to head to the back room.
"That son of a..."
"Dean. No"
"I let him live once. I'm not making the same mistake twice" Y/N says, about to walk to the back room but is stopped by Sam holding her arm.
"Trust me. Gordon's taken care of. Come on" Sam reaches out and fists Dean's jacket, pulling him towards the front door. Y/N follows next then Sam. The three walk- Sam staggering- down the steps from the cabin and away from it. Moments later Gordon emerges, a gun in each hand, and begins firing. Sam, Dean and Y/N duck and run for cover.
"Come on!" Dean shouts as they run "You call this taken care of?" The three dive into a ditch by the side of the road and huddle, watching him approach "What the hell are we doing?"
"Just trust me on this, all right?" As Gordon approaches, three police cars, sirens blaring, pull into the clearing and surround Gordon. Cops emerge, weapons ready.
"Drop your weapon! Get down on your knees!"
"Do it, now!" Sam, Dean and Y/N grin at each other as Gordon drops to his knees. Gordon glares in their direction and Y/N lifts her hand up to her eye and rubs it with a frown, pretending to cry "Put your hands on your head. Easy now" The cop cuffs Gordon and pats him down, then leads him to a squad car. Another opens the back door of Gordon's red car and pulls out the weapon rack.
"Anonymous tip" Sam says.
"You're a fine upstanding citizen, Sam" Sam turns to Y/N and sees her is bloody around an opening. He lifts it up but sees nothing.
"What's wrong, Sammy?" She asks.
"What happened?"
"Oh, I came to help Dean with Gordon, since he was knocked out, and Gordon managed to shoot me with his rifle. Damn thing skimmed my arm, nothing to worry over"
"Yeah, but there is nothing there, like no wound, no graze nothing"
"Then I guess I got lucky and I didn't get hit" she says. Dean looks at her, concerned but Sam gives her a curious look.
==
Inside the Roadhouse, Ellen is on the phone, talking to Dean and keeping her voice down.
"Gordon Walker was hunting Sam?" On the phone, outside; Sam is in the car, looking at his own cell phone, Y/N resting her head on his shoulder looking over at his phone.
"Yeah, he almost killed us because somebody over there can't keep their friggin' mouth shut"
"And you honestly think it was me? Or Ash? Or Jo? No way"
"Well, who else knows about Sam, huh" Dean turns to look at Sam in the car "I mean, you must have been talking to somebody"
"Hey, you can say a lot of things about us. But we are not disloyal. And we're not stupid. We haven't breathed a word of this"
"Gordon said he had Roadhouse connections, Ellen"
"And this roadhouse is full of other hunters. They're all smart. They're good trackers. Each of them with their own patterns and connections. Look, hell, I could name twelve of them right now that are capable of putting this together" Ellen sighs "I am sorry about what happened, Dean. But I can't control these people. Or what they choose to believe.
==
Y/N is driving; Dean is besides her, head resting on his hand while Sam is talking on his phone, resting on the front seats of the Impala.
"Hey, Ava, it's Sam. Again. Um, call me when you get this, just want to make sure you got home okay. All right. Bye" Sam puts his phone down.
"Everything all right?" Dean asks.
"Yeah, I hope so"
"Well, Gordon should be reaching for the soap for the next few years at least"
"Yeah. If they pin Scott Carey's murder on him. And if he doesn't bust out" There is a small pause "Dude, you ever take off like that again, or if anyone tells you to...."
"What? You'll kill me?"
"That is so not funny" Y/N says, rolling her eyes playfully. Sam laughs.
"All right. All right. So where to next, then?"
"One word: Amsterdam"
"Dean"
"Come on, man, I hear the coffeeshops don't even serve coffee" Y/N says.
"I'm not just gonna ditch the job"
"Screw the job. Screw it, man, I'm sick of the job anyway. I mean, we don't get paid, we don't get thanked. The only thing we get is bad luck"
"Well, come on, dude, you're a hunter. I mean, it's what you were meant to do"
"Ah, I wasn't meant to do anything, I don't believe in that destiny crap" she says.
"You mean you don't believe in my destiny"
"Yeah, whatever"
"Look, Guys, I've tried running before. I mean, I ran all the way to California and look what happened. You two can't run from this. And you can't protect me" Dean and Y/N's eyes meet and the two look at Sam.
"We can try"
"Thanks for that" Sam says quietly. The twins nod "Look, Guys, I'm gonna keep hunting. I mean, whatever is coming, I'm taking it head-on, so if you two really want to watch my back, then I guess you're gonna have to stick round.
"Bitch"
"Jerk"
"Assholes" The three grin.
"Hey, Y/N?" Dean says.
"Yeah"
"I've been meaning to say that what I did was wrong...I kept that from you and I shouldn't have"
"Don't get me wrong, I'm pissed but you’re my brother and I can't be angry at you for long since I'm depending on you to save my ass when I need it" Dean laughs but then looks to Sam who is frowning and picks his phone up again.
"You calling that Ava girl again? You sweet on her or something?"
"She's engaged, Dean"
"So? What's the point in saving the world if you can't get a little nookie once in a while, huh?" Sam hangs up, scowling in thought.
"What?" Y/N asks.
"Just a feeling. How far is it to Peoria?"
==
Sam, Dean and Y/N do their breaking and entering thing, with flashlights.
"Hello? Is anybody home?" They go into the bedroom to find Ava's fiancé dead, face-up on the bed; and his shirt and the sheets are soaked in blood.
"Oh my god" Y/N says. Dean runs a finger along the windowsill, staring at the powdery substance collected there.
"Hey" Sam and Y/N turn. Dean holds up his finger "Sulphur. Demon's been here" Sam sees something on the floor and kneels, picking it up. It is Ava's engagement ring.
"Ava" Sam whispers.

How many code words do you think Sam and dean have that we don't know about?
Like when Sam walks up to dean and says "I really want some rhubarb pie right now" to warn dean that there's a police officer in the vicinity
Or when dean pats Sam twice on the arm and says "I really want to go birdwatching again, that was fun" to warn Sam that there's someone watching them
Or "hey, I saw this super cool white cat on the way here, it looked cool." (The words "white cat" warning the other brother that the monster they are hunting is in the room, disguised or that they're currently talking to the monster)

Dean looked up at the sign and sighed. How did this all happen? Well, he knew how it happened, but that didn’t mean that he thought it would ever go this far.
It all started with the night Dean and Cas got a little too drunk and they ended up doing it on their neglected ping pong table. After that, “ping pong” became a joke codeword for sex.
“Hey, wanna go play some ping pong?” Cas would ask after dinner, raising his eyebrows suggestively.
“Mornin’ sunshine, that ping pong game last night was pretty intense,” Dean would say in the kitchen, giving Cas a kiss on the cheek.
It was amusing, until Jack overheard them talking about going for “another round of ping pong” and sadly asked if they were playing without him.
Dean and Cas exchanged looks and Cas nodded, agreeing to handle this. “Jack, would you like to play some now?”
“Yes!” Jack exclaimed. This is where it started to snowball.
After that first game, Jack wanted to play ping pong all the time - the kid was pretty good at it too. Cas and Dean played with him at least a few times a day, every day. Things got even more hectic once Jack started telling everyone about the family’s new hobby.
Sam and Eileen wanted in on the game and came over for dinner later that week, playing ping pong well into the night. When Dean told them they didn’t have to keep playing, Sam just smiled and shrugged as Eileen smacked the ball in the far right corner for the win. “We’re having fun!” Sam said with Eileen nodding in agreement.
Then, Jodie, Donna, and the girls started coming over to play. Even Garth got wind of it and came down for Dean’s famous burgers and some rounds of “whiff-whaff” (Garth insisted on using the old British name). Jack was ecstatic of course at all of the friends that were stopping by to play.
Dean and Cas were happy Jack was having such a great time, but they were also exhausted from all the actual ping pong they were playing. There wasn’t much time or privacy for their version of ping pong anymore.
“Cas, this whole thing is getting out of hand,” Dean complained one night after Claire and Kaia finally left. They played Jack for three hours straight and made Dean and Cas referee once it started getting competitive.
“As long as Jack enjoys it, we’ve got to let him do it. He’ll get tired of it eventually…I hope.” Cas grimaced as he looked at the table across the room.
“I’m sick of being host every night to all these people using our house as a ping pong club! I wish they could all just come one day, play, and then never come back again,” Dean whined, leaning in for a pouty kiss.
Cas was about to reciprocate when he pulled back quickly, making Dean sulk even more. “Dean, stop pouting, I have an idea.”
And that’s how the 1st Annual Winchester Ping Pong Tournament was born. Cas figured in order to end this whole thing, they had to go out with a bang. If all went well, everyone would get their fill of ping pong and then Dean and Cas wouldn’t have to deal with them until the following year at the 2nd Annual Winchester Ping Pong Tournament.
Dean picked up a couple extra tables at a thrift store while Cas painted a banner. If they were going to do this, they were going to do it right. Jack handled the guest list and then he and Cas made a round-robin chart with everyone’s names.
While waiting for the guests to arrive, Cas joined Dean as he stared up at the sign. “Do you know how badly I want to tell everyone how this all started?” Dean asked with a smirk.
Cas rolled his eyes and then laughed. “You better not say a word. If this all works, then we will play our own round later tonight,” he said, winking as he left to go answer the door.
The tournament was a great success. Everyone had a blast eating, drinking, and playing round after round after round. The final match ended up being between Claire and Jack, who were also the two that played the most over the last few weeks. Finally, Claire missed the ball and gave Jack the win, suspiciously at the same time Cas coughed. Dean would ask him about it later.
The guests left happy and saying that they couldn’t wait until next year’s tournament. Jack told Cas and Dean that he wouldn’t start training for next year for a while because “even champions need a break”. The two of them sighed in relief as their plan actually worked.
Jack went off to bed and Cas turned to Dean and gave him a kiss. “Ready to play some ping pong?”
“Cas, we need to find a new phrase - and not another game. I’m not doing a badminton tournament next month.”
See you all next year at the 2nd Annual Winchester Ping Pong Tournament!

Hi Bestie! (This could be a prompt for a ficlet or just a fun short answer!)
I've been thinking about Sam and Dean's code word; "Poughkeepsie", (which means "drop everything and run.") I'm pretty sure they only said it twice, but both times were very important
Where do you think it came from? Do you think they intentionally were like "We need a codeword" ?
I actually think about this a lot! I always wondered how they came up with their code words, did they just sit down one day and come up with random stuff, or do they have meaning? Like they use "I think something is stuck on my shoe" if they think someone is following them, and that makes sense, but like, poughkeepsie is just so random, so it must mean something right? Like I wonder what terrible thing happened there that they had to drop everything and run. What associates that word with something so dangerous? Did a hunt go wrong there when they were little? Did someone or something try to hurt them so they literally had to abandon the motel they were staying at? Like arghhh I want to know!

Wounded Hearts 1
Summary: When John Winchester leaves his two high school-aged sons in a motel in Fairfax IN while he goes off on a hunt, they both make friends. What happens after they have to suddenly leave when John comes to fetch them? Will those friendships endure? Does Dean leave a piece of his soul behind?
Word Count: 3,635
A/N: This is a sequel to Past Haunts, but it’s mostly what happened in the thirteen years between high school and when Sam and Dean return to take care of a haunting in their old stomping grounds of Truman High. The first couple of chapters will be mainly Dean’s POV and then after that, each chapter will switch from Dean’s POV to Rebecca’s POV. I will label them appropriately.
October 14, 1996 Dean’s POV
I watch with pride as Sammy schools some kid. My brother might not look like much but he can fight. I guess all the times sparring with Dad and I have paid off. He gets a few good punches in before laying the bully out. I smile widely as Sam tells the kid that he’s not tough, he is just a jerk. The crowd begins chanting ‘Dirk the Jerk’.
One of the onlookers turns to walk away and slams right into me. I look down to see a girl from a couple of my classes. It takes me a minute to remember her name. Rebecca. Rebecca Quentin.
The blush on her cheeks and the way she pushes her hair behind her ears is adorable as hell! She looks down at the ground after she apologizes but I’ve got to tell her it’s okay. No harm, no foul.
“Hey Rebecca, right?”
I get a glimpse of what a spitfire she is, when I accidentally call her ‘honey’.
“I’m not your honey, Dean!” she rages and honestly it is cute as fuck!
I smile and try to make up for my obvious mistake. “Listen, Becks,” I begin and cringe at another faux pas. ‘Dammit Dean keep it together.’ “Is it alright if I call you that?”
I sigh and relax when she nods her head that the nickname is okay.
“We got off on the wrong foot. Let me make it up to you. We can go get a bite to eat.” She looks like she is about to reject my offer so I quickly counter. “I’ll even bring my little brother so it won’t look like a date. If that’s what you’re afraid of.”
When she agrees I can practically feel my heart rate pick up. This girl is beautiful with her gorgeous blue eyes and brown hair. She is a vision and she just agreed to go out with me! Well, Sammy too, but I get to talk more and learn about this angel.
I call Sammy over, never taking my eyes off her. As we leave the school grounds, I wonder if she is aware that she has strategically placed Sammy between us. Was that intentional or just a coincidence? The two of us carry most of the conversation during our trip since Sammy has his nose in some book, the big nerd!
Rebecca Quentin is 17 years old, the same age as me; a senior and is planning on going to college to become a Psychologist. She tells me that she has her heart set on Harvard.
“You must be really smart,” Sam quips glancing up at Rebecca before going back to reading.
On our walk, I learn that she is an only child and lives with her parents on the other side of town. I can’t imagine not having siblings because, although he can get on my nerves, Sammy is my life. I have been protecting him since I was 4 years old, it’s my duty.
As we pass a movie rental store, I get the bright idea for pizza and a movie in our motel room. After some coaxing, Rebecca agrees and I rush inside to get the movie. ‘All Saints Day’ is one of my favorites.
Our money situation is getting sparse but I want to splurge for her so I grab a couple bags of popcorn at the checkout and after paying, I join Rebecca and Sammy on the sidewalk.
We walk to the pizza joint and go inside to place our order. I look around the nearly-empty restaurant as we wait. The lighting is bright but is dulled by the amount of wood inside. Dark wooden panels cover the walls with even darker wood beams line the ceiling. The tables are draped with red-and-white checkered table clothes with a candle and a condiment tray in the center. The whole ambience of the place gives off a romantic vibe and I imagine bringing Rebecca here for a date.
‘Get a grip Dean!’ I think to myself. ‘You just met the girl and had to persuade her to hang out with you. She’s probably not even interested in you like that; just too nice to say no.’ The waitress calls our name and I grab the boxes before we continue our trek to the motel.
At the motel, I am a complete gentleman, holding the door for her to enter first and I even carry her food for her. We settle in, me on the floor and her on the end of my bed. We watch as David Yeager portrays the Hatchet man. Sometime during the movie Rebecca joins me on the floor and when a jumpscare scene comes up she hides her face on my shoulder. I smile as I lean over and whisper, “I’ll protect you.” That earns me a smile and from the look in her eyes, I can tell she actually believes and trusts me. I can’t help myself as I lean over and press my lips to hers, keeping it chaste and innocent because Sammy is right there. A few minutes later she places her hand in mine and I entwine our fingers, a smile breaking out on my face. I am scared that if I acknowledge it she’ll pull away and that is the last thing I want her to do, so I sit there with a big old goofy grin. We finish the movie and polish off the rest of the food before Sammy begins complaining that he wants to go to the arcade. I only have $20 left for us to live on until Dad returns and the brat is getting on my last nerve.
Suddenly Rebecca speaks up and pulls some bills out of her pocket. “Here ya go. There’s an arcade down at the end. Go crazy!” she tells him, with a laugh.
Sammy’s whole face alights and he begins begging me to go. “Can I Dean? I promise not to go any further. And to come straight back when I’m done. Please?”
I look at Rebecca and then to Sammy. That means Rebecca and I will be in the room alone, by ourselves. What if she is expecting something to happen. Fuck! I have not watched enough Casa Erotica on stolen pay-per-view for this. I don’t know what I’m doing. Fuck!
I pull Sammy to the side. “No further. And if you see anything...suspicious come back here. You know the codeword.”
Sammy repeats the codeword and is out the door in a flash. Well this just turned awkward. I run my hand across the back of my neck as I turn to look at Rebecca. I take a step closer to her as she steps closer to me. Before long, we are standing toe-to-toe and I can smell her strawberry, I think it’s strawberry at least, shampoo. Her lips are still slightly swollen from the kiss I gave her and I lick mine as I hesitantly reach for her. She walks right into my embrace and wraps her arms around my neck. I lean down and kiss her and OH MY GOD! This kiss is even better than the first. I take a chance and swipe my tongue across the seam of her closed lips and am surprised when she opens to let me lick into her mouth.
She tastes like heaven, if there is a heaven. Her tongue wrestles with mine and she moans as I begin lightly sucking on hers. My hands begin rubbing up and down her sides, the hem of her shirt catching on my fingertips. I pull back and look at her questioningly and she nods so I grab the garment and pull it over her head. She is wearing a little peach bra with a tiny little bow in between her breasts. I swear I could cum right now. She helps me pull my shirt off and then we discard the rest of our clothing until we are left in our skivvies.
We lay down and make out heavily on the bed. I feel like my dick is going to burst, it’s so hard. I slide her bra strap down and then reach behind her to unsnap it. Of course with my bumbling hands, I have trouble but I get it loose and Rebecca pulls it off, dropping it on the floor.
I stare at the picture before me. Her nipples are hardening to little nubs as I gaze at them. Seeing breasts on television is one thing but fuck me, breasts in real life? There is no comparison. Gathering up all the courage I can muster, I dip my head and kiss one of the stiff peaks, flicking my tongue across it. Rebecca moans above me and her hands land on the back of my head. I continue laving her nipple all the while loving the sounds she is producing.
I slide my hand slowly down her stomach, praying she doesn't feel the tremble in it. My whole body is vibrating with nerves. I have never gotten this far with a girl and I'm worried I will somehow mess this up. I want to satisfy and please her. When my fingertips meet her panties, I lightly run them along the edge. I look up to see Rebecca's eyes watching me. She wiggles her hips and smiles. I take that as her consent to keep going.
I push up onto my knees between her legs, almost embarrassed at the obviousness of my arousal. I hook my fingers in her panties and pull them down. Once I get them to her feet I stand up and take them the rest of the way off. I grab the top of my boxers to remove them but my eyes land on her body. Taking my time, I run my eyes down from her face to her neck, over her heaving chest and gorgeous tits down her stomach to….her pussy. Fuck! I palm my dick as I look at the splendor before me. Her outer lips are bare and smooth and I can just see a peek of her clit. How the hell am I going to last, I'm already about to blow my load. I push my boxers down until they fall to the floor.
Climbing back onto the bed, I position myself between her legs and lean forward to capture her lips. My cock rubs against her inner thigh and oh my fucking god! How am I getting harder?!
Rebecca's back arches off the bed, breaking our lips apart. "Dean," she sighs and I look into her eyes. Holy shit! This is happening! I'm about to have sex. I sure hope to god Sam doesn't return anytime soon. "Do you have a condom?"
Fuck!! Fuckity fuck fuck fuck. Yea I have a condom; one dad gave me when I turned 13, four years ago. Dammit to hell.
I crawl off the bed, trying to figure out if I want to take a chance with that old thing. I look around the room and spot a half wadded sandwich wrapper on the table. It keeps sandwiches fresh and dry so it should work right? I grab the plastic and notice a few crumbs stuck to it. I shake them off and proceed to wrap the cellophane around my dick, making sure that the tip is covered well. When I am satisfied with the protection, I climb back onto the bed and take my previous place.
I grab the base of my dick and line it up with her entrance. "Ready baby?" I ask as sincerely as I can.
I’m nervous as hell but I want to make this good for her. I look down as I run the tip of my dick along her slit, her juices warm and slippery. I press in to breach her outer lips and notch myself at her entrance. I don’t know why but I am assuming this is her first time too. Maybe it’s the look of anxiety on her face or maybe I’m just seeing things. Either way, I want to ease her into this. Ok, yea and me too. “This might hurt and I’m sorry.”
I press into her and am immediately met with resistance. Yep, this is her first time too. Has to be, ain’t no way they are always this tight, right? I lean down and kiss her to swallow her cries as I pull out and push back in. A few more tries and our hips are flush, my dick is inside her! Holy shit, I am inside a girl and fuck does it feel wonderful! I have to bite my inner cheek to stave off the desire to shoot my load. It feels that fucking good!
When Rebecca whimpers, I freeze. Oh fuck! Did I hurt her? I should have been more gentle. ‘Good going Dean!’ I silently chastise myself. I wanted this to feel good for her, not to cause her any pain. I pull my upper body off her enough so that our foreheads are touching. Neither of us are moving, just our chests from the heaving breaths we are both taking.
“Are you okay?” I ask, although if she would say no I think I’d have to kill myself. I don’t want to have harmed her in any way.
Instead Rebecca grins up at me and nods her head. I feel relieved instantly. “Yea. Just keep doing what you are doing. It’ll get better.”
I start a slow and steady drive of pushing in and pulling out all the while trying to hide the euphoria on my face. I lean down and nuzzle into her neck, kissing the skin behind her ear.
Rebecca starts making these sweet little sounds that are so much better than anything I’ve ever heard on pay-per-view. It is music to my ears. I begin grunting on the push in and moaning each time I pull out. I swear I am in heaven. If there is a god, I want to shake that guy’s hand.
Oh god! Now her pussy is squeezing me tight, making my momentum wobble. I can feel my nuts drawing up and I know I’m about to meet my end. White explodes my vision and I push in as far as I can, pulsing and shooting my load into that plastic sandwich wrapper. This is so much better than jacking off!
Suddenly, Rebecca grabs my biceps; her fingers digging into my skin. She throws her head back onto my pillow with her eyes closed as she screams, “Oh god! Dean!” I can feel her getting wetter and seeping out around my shaft.
I kiss along her collarbone, careful to keep my weight off of her as we both come down from that magnificent high. Now I know what all the excitement is about. Sex with a woman is phenomenal!
After cleaning up and getting re-dressed, the awkwardness creeps in. We stand in the middle of mine and Sammy’s motel room, just staring at one another with small smiles on each of our faces. Mine will probably be etched on and never go away.
“Well, I uh….I better get home,” Rebecca stammers, pushing her hair behind her ear. Does she realizes how fucking adorable and captivating that little habit is? Probably not, but it fucking is.
I don’t want her to go but I know she needs to get home. I look at my watch and balk as I see that it is almost 6 pm. So that means for almost an hour she and I had sex. Wow!
I grab her wrist and pull her toward me, running a finger down the side of her face. “See ya tomorrow, Becks.” I lean in and give her a quick kiss on the lips and wistfully watch as she opens the door.
Before leaving though, she looks back at me one more time and smiles. There is a sparkle in her eye and I can’t help but feel proud; I put that there. After the door closes, I turn to grab my flannel; might as well go hang out with Sammy in the arcade. Maybe whoop him in a game of Mario Kart. A spot on the bed catches my attention and my heart flutters when I realize what it is. There in the middle of my bed, is a splotch of Rebecca’s cum. I’ll sleep great tonight, with the knowledge that I finally got laid. And we both enjoyed it. The proof is right there.
I pull my flannel on, checking to see if I had the room key before I strut down the side of the building to the room that the arcade is located in. I look through the window to see my nerdy ass brother sitting at a game for dorks; some type of trivia shit. I go to grab the door handle and wonder if Sammy will be able to tell a difference in me. I am no longer Dean Winchester, virgin but I am Dean Winchester, sex god.
I challenge Sammy to a round of Lethal Enforcers, totally demolishing him. But at 13 Dad hasn’t let Sammy get much practice in with a gun. Not like he has with me; by the time I was Sammy’s age I could take apart, clean and reassemble almost any caliber weapon in Dad’s possession. I ruffle Sam’s hair as we head back to the room, much to his chagrin.
“What’s got you in such a good mood Dean?” Sammy asks. “You and Rebecca do it?” I can tell by the playfulness of his voice and the smirk on his face, Sammy has no idea what transpired in our room. In an attempt to play it cool and nonchalant, I puff out my chest and say, “Yea. I rocked her world.”
Sammy rolls his eyes and continues walking towards the room. I shudder at how much of a jerk I sound like. It was nothing like that at all. What happened between Becks and I was magical and wonderful and I wouldn’t mind doing it again. At that thought, I remind myself to invest in some newer condoms.

The next morning
I can’t wait to get to school. I have first period with Rebecca and I am hoping to be able to sit beside her. That is, if Amanda Heckerling and her flunkies leave us alone. There is a skip in my step as Sammy and I walk the two blocks to the school. But it falls away when the cell phone in my pocket begins ringing. I know there is only one person with this number and there is only one reason he would be calling. Dad is done with his hunt and is on his way to pick us up. I curse as I take the phone out of my jacket pocket and flip it open.
After the call, I tell Sammy the news. “Dad will be here by lunchtime to pick us up. Do you have everything in your bag?” We had long ago learned to carry our personal possessions with us instead of leaving them in whatever motel room we stayed in. Easier for Dad to just pick us up and leave town before any questions or concerns arose.
“Yep,” Sammy answers and I can tell he is as melancholy as I am at the thought of leaving this town. In the three weeks we’ve been here, we have both made friends and hated leaving them behind, knowing we’d probably never see or hear from them again.
I go about my normal routine, checking in at homeroom and grabbing my shit out of my locker before heading to English Lit. As soon as I walk in I spot Rebecca but instead of the smile I expect to see on her face, she looks down. Is she ashamed of what we did? Did she tell someone and they made fun of her for having sex with the boy from out of town? I walk past her and take my usual seat at the back. I can’t wait for Dad to get here so we can get out of this shithole! Lunchtime cannot come soon enough.
At lunch, I track down Sammy and we go to the front of the school to wait on Dad. As we hear the rumble of the Impala coming we both look up at the building morosely. The best and worst things happened here. I met a girl and had sex just for her to turn around and deny she even knew me. “This place sucks. Come on Sam,” I say as I head around the front of the car to get into the front.
As we pass the sign that thanks us for visiting Fairfax, I silently wish Rebecca Quentin a farewell. My heart constricts and I feel sick. I lean my head back against the seat, closing my eyes and daydream about blue eyes and dark brown hair and soft silky skin.

Babe,
I will tell you it took me a few minutes to read your letter because I just wanted to look at the pictures that you sent. You're right, one of us in bed being lazy is my new favorite. The way you smile in that picture is exactly how you smile at me when you wake up in the morning. I love it on the one hand, but it's sad too. If I close my eyes and it's quiet, I can almost imagine myself back there. I love the one at the bonfire. That hangover was awful, it's a great picture, and we look like we are having fun. How do you think I would forget the beach picture with my favorite bathing suit? I can tell you that you went to the edge of the water to wash your feet and legs off. I called your name, you looked at me over your shoulder and blew me a kiss, right before you laughed and I took the picture.
Thank you for sending them, just like with all the photos you take they tell a story, I'm just lucky enough to be in your story. That first Thanksgiving together was awesome, we had so many people we care about there. Sam and I had a real Thanksgiving meal that wasn't from a gas station or TV dinner. Of course, thinking of that makes me think about Christmas. You went out of your way to make it memorable. I had never had a real tree that I remember, but cutting down my own? I didn't realize what I was missing. Christmas morning was still the best. I still can't figure out how you and Sam were able to pull it off.
We have gone on three raids since your last letter and have come up with a lot of nothing. They knew we were coming, that is the only thing I can think of. Sam and I talked about it, we have an idea that maybe someone around here is running their mouth, so we are locking shit down. Unless we need to go for supplies, everyone stays here; if they go out, it's in pairs now. We did find a couple of ledgers that were left behind. Charlie is putting them all into a computer and will try to make sense of them or decide if they were left there to throw us off the trail. We are still training; sometimes, I get so angry; it's what gets me through.
I sat down with Sam the other day and finally told him my plan. I was going to wait until this job was over, but I honestly thought this job would have already been over. He blew my mind when he told me he was surprised I hadn't done it already. He said he knew by that first Christmas that it was just a matter of time, that I would leave this life behind within five years. He knew I couldn't walk away until we wrapped things up as neatly as possible, which, as you know, is why I'm on this job. I no longer feel like I'm walking away from my brother, but that I'm walking towards something, I'm just fucking ready.
Before I sign off, I want to tell you how proud I am that you were chosen again as the official photographer! You are so good; there is no one else they could have picked! I hope I have better news next time, but unless something breaks soon, I won't be back in time to help with the parade this year, but I know you will be great! Watch your back until I can.
I Love You,
D
2 ½ years ago
Tink: Sam, I need your help with something.
Sam: Are you okay?
Tink: Yes, I'm fine; it's about a present for Dean. Can you talk?
Sam: He is sitting right next to me.
Tink: Can you get up?
Sam: We are in the car
Tink: You didn't tell him it was me texting you, did you? I want it to be a surprise.
Sam: No, but he is starting to give me weird looks.
Tink: Can you see the face I'm giving you right now, Sam? This is a SECRET
Sam: okay well stop saying shit that makes me laugh because he just asked me who I was texting like a schoolgirl
Tink: Ugh!. Can you call me when you guys get to the motel, but it should be before or after Dean calls. Please. Shhh a SECRET
Sam: I'll call before because you guys are on the phone half the night, and I'm not staying up that late.
Tink: I'm STILL giving you the face Sam
Sam: Okay, I'll call. I got to go. Dean just rolled down the window and is giving me a look. I'm not going to lose another one of my phones so ttyl.
Standing side by side, arms crossing their chest in matching poses, they studied the tree that they put in the stand in the front living room window.
Y/N pressed her lips together in a line, "I think it needs to go on the back porch; it's too big."
"What!" Dean cried, "It's perfect. I just might need to trim it a little."
She shook her head, disagreeing with him, "It's wider than I am tall at the bottom and-" she gestured to the ceiling laughing, "-it's all scrunched up at the top, like by a foot. We would have to put a dangly star ornament as a tree topper. The tree is actually bent over."
"Okay," he chuckled, "It might be a little bigger in this room than I thought it would be."
"Dean," she pointed to the tree, "there is actually a picture window behind that tree, but you can't tell because it's so…" she gestured her hands around.
"Fluffy?" Dean suggested.
Y/N giggled, "first of all, hearing you say the word fluffy, makes me laugh. Second, if we light a fire in the fireplace, that tree will go up in smoke."
"You know, Babe," Dean said, bumping her hip, wiggling his eyebrows, "fluffy could be our safe word."
"Really?" she questioned, rolling her eyes with a smile, "since when do we need a safe word? I don't need one. Do you need one?"
He pulled her into his arms, brushed her hair away from her face as he dragged his teeth along her jaw; he continued to kiss down her neck, his scruff marking her neck.
"Codeword," was her breathless response.
"Huh?" he pulled away looking at her.
With a smirk, she focused on his face. "Fluffy should be the code word to why we can't ever get anything done when you are here."
"That sounds like you're complaining."
"Uh...no that is not complaining, it is an observation." She flashed him her brightest smile as she fluttered her eyelashes at him. "Complaining would be bitching that I could sit in the kitchen; and hang ornaments on the tree." Dean took that moment to look at her, to appreciate the woman in his life. She made his heart sing whenever she was near. Not wanting to waste another second, he hauled her body to his, crushing his mouth to hers, swallowing the gasp of shock; taking the opportunity of her open mouth to deepen the kiss. His tongue dancing with hers, he moved his hand up, pulling off her knit hat and entangling his fingers into the hair at the base of her skull, pulling her closer as a moan rumbled through his chest. With her hands fisted in his jacket, they broke away, catching their breath. Her lips quirked up in a smile as she looked up at him.
"See?" she pointed out, "you distract me with all of your flannel lumberjackness."
He chucked, "Well, I did just chop down our first Christmas tree, even if we had to wait for Christmas Eve to do it."
"Hmm," she hummed, eyeing the tree out of the corner of her eye. "Do you need help with whatever we are doing with it?"
"Nah," he said, pulling his gloves out of his back pocket, "Sammy will be here soon, he can help me with it. I'm just going to drag it back outside".
"Hold on," she said, pulling her phone out of her back pocket, "let's take a picture in front of the tree first." They stood in front of the tree, as she snapped the selfie as they both wore matching cheesy grins.
Sam got to Y/N's bungalow just as Dean finished bringing the tree out the front door. They worked together to cut it down, shaking all the snow off before bringing it back into the house. Y/N was in the kitchen, pulling out the cornbread she made to serve with the chili that had been cooking all day in the crockpot. After they ate, Dean helped her get the ornaments out of the attic. She had already decorated the rest of the house weeks earlier but wanted to wait for him to get the tree. After dinner, Y/N turned on the Christmas music as she made hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps; she brought it into the living room, standing back to watch Sam and Dean pass the lights back and forth, wrapping the tree with them.
"Hey Babe," Dean looked back at her, motioning to the tree, "what do you think? Pretty great, huh?"
"It's beautiful," she smiled. "I made some hot chocolate," she gestured, holding up the Santa Claus mugs, "to drink while we hang ornaments." They both looked at her with matching scrunched noses and raised eyebrows.
Rolling her eyes, she held out the mugs, "Try it, before you start making those faces at me. "Have I ever made you anything you didn't like?”
"Butter beans," Dean mumbled.
Y/N exhaled a long breath. "Does it look like I'm trying to give you a mug of butter beans? Whatever-" she set the mugs on the coffee table, "you guys are missing out." With that, she wrapped her hands around her cup and took a long drink.

"Y/N, don't be mad," Sam said, picking up the mug. "I'm sure it's good hot chocolate." Taking a sip, his eyes grew large. "Damn, Y/N, these taste like Girl Scout cookies."
"What?" Dean questioned, picking up his mug, "I love Girl Scout cookies."
"No kidding." Y/N deadpanned.
Taking a swig, he licked his lips, "It tastes like the Thin Mints."
"You don't say," she said looking over the rim of her mug as she took another drink.
"Well, you didn't say you made hot chocolate that tastes like cookies."
"Anyway," she set her mug down, "I got you both something, I want you to open before we hang up ornaments.” She walked over to the fireplace decorated with pine garland, multiple sized white candles scattered over the entire mantle. Tucked in the corner, were two small gifts wrapped in white tissue paper. She handed Dean the one with the red ribbon and Sam the one with the green ribbon.
"Wait," Dean said, turning the small package in his hand, "Are we doing presents now?"
Y/N shook her head, "This is just a small thing I made for you guys, go on, open them."
She bit her lip as she watched them pull the ribbon and tear open the paper. Inside they each found an "S" and a "D," respectively made of thin wood with a ribbon attached at the top. On each was multiple pictures of themselves decoupaged on the letter.
"I forget how many pictures you take," Sam said, holding it up by the strip of cloth as he studied it, "it's an ornament, right?"
"It is," she smiled. "I wanted you each to have your very own ornament to hang on the tree too."
As Dean stared at the ornament, studying the pictures, he mumbled almost to himself, "I can't remember ever having my own ornament before."
Before she knew it, they had both engulfed her in a hug, squeezing her. "I. Can't. Breathe," came her muffled plea.
Sam stepped back, his hand rubbing her upper arm. "Thank you, Tink, this means so much."
Dean took the opportunity to pull her against his chest, his lips brushing the shell of her ear squeezing her just a little tighter "Babe, you have no idea how special this is.”

They turned the Christmas music up as they hung ornaments on the tree with a couple for refills of the spiked hot chocolate and the cookies she had made earlier. After they finished, Dean built a fire in the fireplace as Y/N put all of the presents under the tree. They sat around the living room, the only illumination from the tree and the fire. Dean settled in his "spot" on the couch, draping his arm over the back, Y/N lying next to him, with her toes tucked under his thigh. At this point, it was a habit; it's how they always sat there together.
Sam sat across from them on one of the comfy chairs. She shared stories of when she was a kid at Christmas, and Sam and Dean shared some stories of how they spent their holidays. She made them tell her a couple of stories twice. Her favorite was of them bursting into this Rent-a-Santa trailer because they thought he was murdering someone, but he was just smoking pot, getting drunk, and watching porn, so they sang Silent Night to get out of it.
Standing up, Sam stretched his arms over his head, yawning. "I'm going head to bed."
"Night Sammy," they said in unison.
Raising his eyebrows, he shook his head at them with a huff of laughter, "Yeah, see you two in the morning."
He made this way to the second bedroom of Y/N's bungalow. It was her office, but she had also made it into a guest room for him. He quietly closed the door, pulled off his clothes, folded them, and placed them on the chair. He pulled on his flannel sleep pants and a clean t-shirt. He slipped into the crisp sheets of his bed; he laced his fingers behind his head and settled into his pillow with a smile. He could hear the hum of voices from the living room as he let his mind wander.
Sam could see the changes in Dean since he met Y/N, especially when he was here. Dean was very tight-lipped about her unless it was just the two of them, but he could tell Dean was trying to put things in order. He knew he wasn't going to leave things unfinished. Now that Gabriel is back, it was just a matter of time before they could open the rift again to get Mom and Jack. After they were home safe, he knew Dean was going to walk away from hunting; his priorities had changed. It wasn't that Dean didn't want or think people needed saving; he was just tired.
Dean talked more to Sam about how he felt since Y/N came into their lives than all of the years before. There were little snippets here and there, but Sam paid attention. It was the little things that he said and, maybe louder, were the things he didn't. Sam knew Dean had sacrificed so much, had saved him so many times, hell, they both had, but this time he knew it was going to be for good. Once Dean walked away, he would never come back. That didn't make him angry, it scared him, if Dean wasn't there he had some big shoes to fill, Sam wasn't sure that he was good or strong enough to do what Dean has done for all of these years, but Sam was willing to try because after everything his brother had done for him, this was the thing he could do for Dean. Closing his eyes with a smile, he listened to the murmur of their voices and the soft sound of Christmas music as he fell asleep.
Standing up, Dean reached his hand out to Y/N, slipping her hand in his, he pulled her from the couch.
"Come on, Babe," he smiled as he led her in front of the fireplace, the twinkling lights from the tree bouncing around the room.
Dean pulled her to him, took her right hand in his and rested his hand at the small of Y/N's back. "Dancing with you, this is one of your favorite Christmas songs."
She tilted her head to listen, hearing Michael Bublé singing, "I'll Be Home For Christmas."
As he rubbed his thumb across the top of her hand, she smiled up at him as they moved around the living room.
"Dean, you hate dancing."
"But, you don't," he whispered, pressing a kiss to her lips, "besides, I don't hate dancing. How could I hate something that means I can have you right here in my arms."
It was in that moment that Y/N’s heart swelled, an overwhelming feeling of admiration and love for the man holding her flooded her soul. She pulled back slightly, capturing the look of his green eyes twinkling in the firelight. “I lo-” she began, her mouth snapping shut as her lips closed, heat creeping up her face as he raised his eyebrow. Her mouth hung agape for a second, as she tried to find the words to cover up her stumble. “I-I love this song, this time of year,” she stammered, lowering her eyes to fixate on the collar of his shirt. She reached up to start fixing it, “so, so much,” she finished in a mumble.
Dean slowed the dancing, his eyes not once moving from her face as she fumbled with the clothes he was wearing. He knew he needed to do something, they had been dancing around the ‘L’ word for months but this is the closest one of them had come to saying it. The silence in the air was palpable and Dean swallowed hard. Before he could even begin to take an action, Y/N cleared her throat.
“Anyway, I think that’s the cheesiest thing I’ve ever heard come out for your mouth,” she chuckled, her nerves engulfing her as she rested her forehead against his chest.
He shrugged his shoulders, "Eh, I've had better lines, and worse," he chuckled, deciding to let the near slip up slide.
"Great."
"Come on Babe, you know it's not like that anymore, I flirt if I need information, but that's it."
She lifted her head to look at him, "I'm not worried, Dean. We talk pretty much every night, and you come here every chance you can, even when you are all banged up after a job. I mean, I never thought I would learn how to stitch a person up." Rubbing her hand up and down his back she smiled. "The women don't concern me, they can't help themselves. I mean, look how they act around here, and I'm with you.”
"They are just trying to be helpful."
"Hmm," she hummed. "Yeah, they want to help you do something."
"It doesn't matter; I usually don't notice until you start laughing." He smirked
"Exactly! That's what makes it so funny. They are falling all over you, and you don't even notice. Then I start laughing because it is so obvious and that's when you start looking around. That's one of the reasons I know I have nothing to worry about. Women aren't my concern; it's your job." She ran the back of her fingers along his scruffy jaw, looking into his deep green eyes. "I can't imagine anyone is as good as you are; it just scares me sometimes. I know you went to Hell and the Mark of Cain, what if something happens like that again?"
He stopped swaying to the music as he captured her hand and held it against his face. "Y/N, I would be lying if I didn't say what we do isn't dangerous, I'm not going to blow smoke, but it isn't like it used to be, I know I have Sam, but now I also have you. I know what is important."
"Dean, what if you don't have a choice?"
"There is always a choice, Babe. Team Free Will and all, I'll be fine."
"Just come back to me, please don't make Sam have to make that phone call."
Leaning down, he kissed her tenderly. "Always Babe. I will always come back to you."
"You better," she sniffed.
"Hey," he chuckled "No, crying, it's Christmas."
"I'm not crying," she smiled through her tears, "I have allergies."
He wiped her tears with his fingers, then wiped them on his jeans. "You know we have danced to like three songs by now."
"Well, I guess that will at least get you to New Year's Eve" she laughed
They blew out the candles and tapped down the fire, leaving the tree lights on and headed to bed. Dean stripped down to his boxers, and Y/N changed into a t-shirt with her boy shorts. Crawling under the covers, Dean turned off the bedside lamp and pulled her into his side, her head resting against his chest and listened to his heart's steady beat.
Dean blinked open his eyes as he found himself lying on his side, Y/N's back pressed against his chest, his arm draped around her waist. He breathed deep, his nose ghosting her exposed neck. Then she did it again, she began to push against him, and grind into him in her sleep, a soft moan escaping her lips as she felt his erection pressing against her, inflaming his need. He pulled her body tighter against him as he rubbed his hardness against her, eliciting another moan from Y/N. She woke up and turned her head to him with a sleepy smile before he captured her lips with a deep kiss. Rolling her on her back, he began to kiss down her neck, his shirt that she had claimed from him months ago in his way. Sitting back on his heels between her legs, he grabbed the hem of the t-shirt and unceremoniously yanked it off and threw it on the floor. She had gotten him so worked up that he was on a mission. Running his hands up her thigh, he settled his fingers in the crease of her legs, his thumbs brushing against the material of her boy shorts. A gasp escaped her lips as his thumbs continued to rub her through the cloth.
"It looks like I wasn't the only one getting worked up this morning," he grinned. Y/N tried to move closer, but he held her in place. He leaned down, ran his tongue alongside the band of her underwear, pulling a whimper from her as her hips involuntarily bucked.
"Dean," she whined, "stop teasing and get moving, I'm about to lose my damn mind here.”
He pulled off her underwear in one swift move. As his eyes focused on her hip, he stopped moving; an eerie growl rumbling through his chest. Mesmerized, his fingertips reached out, tracing the ink there. The tattoo is the size of his fist and is an anti possession matching the one on his chest; his eyes snapped to hers as he sees a vulnerability in her as she watches him, the need to protect her exploding inside of him.
"When did you do this?" he rasps.
"Sam helped me two weeks ago," she whispered, now not so sure by the look on his face that she had done the right thing.
"Why?" he croaked.
"Because you were worried about me, and-" she stuttered, "-and I thought if I did this, you wouldn't be as stressed out."

His heart beat hard in his chest as his vision danced between her new ink and her eyes. Y/E/C orbs that were clearly showing Dean her raw feelings for him. It was then that he questioned why it took him so long to tell her how he felt, always running away from others who tried to share their heart with him. Yet maybe it was because Dean was always running to her, even before he even knew she existed. As he ran his thumb over her hip, he knew he needed to tell her; he had to, his chest ached at the thought he had kept those words to himself for so long. A slow, peaceful grin spread across his face he laid down next to her, pulling her into his arms. She slowly brushed her finger over the tattoo on his chest.
"Dean?" she questions with an anxious tone, her heart sinking, afraid that she had gotten it all wrong.
He swallows a lump in his throat as the words his heart demands that he speak, wage war within him. What if in telling Y/N, the forces outside his control tear her away from him? But, if he doesn't tell her soon, will she walk away with the belief that none of this was real?
He brushes her hair away from her face as he cups her cheek, lifting her head to meet his gaze. Her eyes are glassy as she blinks back at him; she feels lost. Usually, she is strong and fierce, but she feels on the verge of despair right now. Smiling softly, he tucks a piece of her hair behind her ear.
"I want you to be safe; I need you to be, you to know you can always count on me.”
"You can count on me too, Dean, always."
He nodded his head, his smile never wavering, pressing a kiss to her forehead before he pulled back.
"I love you, Y/N.” His words whispered against her skin, “I've loved you for so long that it's hard for me to remember when I didn't. You have changed my life in ways I didn't think were possible." He pulled in a shaky breath, feeling the weight lifting off his shoulders as he found the courage to tell her. "I want you to know that I am all in Babe, I want it all with you."
A sound between a sob and a laugh escapes her lips, tears roll down her face, but the smile she gives him is like the brightest sun in a clear blue sky. He looked down to notice the pure joy radiating from her.
Bringing her hand to his cheek, she tries to speak, her throat clogged with emotion. "I love you too, Dean. Oh my God-" she laughs, “you have no idea”
He rested his forehead against hers, voice cracking, "I love you so fucking much, Babe."
He pressed his lips softly to Y/N's before deepening the kiss. He urged her back onto the mattress, holding his weight above her on his elbows just as a loud banging sounded on the wooden bedroom door, shaking it in its frame. Breaking the kiss, he looks towards the door, "Sam; I swear to God-"
"-get your asses up," Sam calls through the door. "It's Christmas, and we have presents to open."
"Sam!" he barks, "Not now."
He can hear Sam's laughter through the door while Y/N is chuckling underneath him.
Turning back to her, a quirk to his lips, he whispered huskily, "We were having a moment here."
"He has radar remember," she giggles a little louder.
The pounding on the door begins again, "Let's go!"
“We will be out in a minute!" Dean snaps.
"I don't believe you," Sam continues to bang on the door with his fist. Consistent, not stopping.
Dean moves off the bed jerking his jeans up off the floor, tugging them on as Y/N scrambles to pull on her shorts and t-shirt. Storming over to the door, Dean grabs the doorknob and whips the door open.
"Dude," he snarls.
"Morning," Sam smiles, taking a drink of his mug of coffee, "you guys up?"
Dean looks incredulously at his brother, "You're kidding me right now?"
A burst of laughter comes from behind him as Y/N tries to squeeze her way through the doorway, pausing to plant a kiss between Dean's shoulder blades. "Come on, let's get some coffee and I'll put the cinnamon rolls in the oven," she says, speaking against his naked back.
"Oh, good," Sam chuckles, stepping back, "I'm starving."
Walking back in the room, Dean grabs his shirt pulling it over his head, mumbling, "I hope you choke on them, Sammy, I hope you choke."
Standing around the island, they each had their second mug of coffee in their hand, the sweet smell of cinnamon rolls drifting through the kitchen.
"Hmm," Y/N hummed, "You know what sounds good with cinnamon rolls."
"Bacon," Dean announced.
"Exactly," she smiled, setting down her coffee, making her way to the door, "I think I have some in the garage freezer. Let me go check."
Sam shook his head at Dean, "Dude; I think you broke Tink."
"Huh?"
"I think you broke her. When we first met her, she made egg white omelets with spinach and mushrooms and now-" Sam gestured to the garage, "-she is making bacon and cinnamon rolls."
Making his way to the coffee machine, he points his mug at Sam. "First, I'd like to think that I helped her, but honestly, I think she still eats that crap when I'm not here."
"Oh, you mean healthy."
"Whatever," he visibly shivered.
"Maybe she will bring you over to the light side yet."
"Sammy, vegetables are the work of the devil, I'm not doing it."
Sipping his coffee, he smiled, "We'll see."
Glancing at the garage door, he looked back, catching Sam's eye. "Hey, I owe you one, man."
"What are you talking about?"
"Y/N, you helped her, you know with the-" he motioned to his hip, "anti-possession tat."
"You know, it was her idea," he shrugged. "She was a champ too, she barely flinched."
"Yeah," Dean smiled, "my girl is a lot tougher than she looks."
"Tink has to be," his brother smirked, "to put up with your shit."
"Really, Sam?"
"I'm just saying." He gestured to Dean
"Well, Sammy, that door swings both ways," he smirked, "speaking as someone who has been stuck in the car with you."
Sam opened his mouth to reply when Y/N burst through the door, waving a large package of bacon in her hand, the garage's frozen air following her.
"Found it," she announced, "and it's fucking cold out there."
Peering out the sliding glass door Dean took in the expanse of snow-covered tundra, "Damn, I think it snowed a foot last night."
"Just in time for Christmas," she smiled.
She put the bacon on a cookie sheet and slid it into the oven. Dean made her a fresh coffee, and she set the timer as they made their way to the living room to gather around the tree. Dean announced that he was going to be "Santa Claus" and hand out all the presents. The three of them sat on the floor as he began to hand them out. Y/N's heart felt very full as she watched the two brothers' faces light up with sheer delight. The anticipation of having a real Christmas with all of the festivities, to include presents under the tree that didn't come from the corner gas station.
Sam was the first to open his gift from Y/N; wrapped in a Christmas paper of Santa and Rudolph taking selfies. Pulling the paper and red ribbon off, it revealed a laptop zipper sleeve printed with a multitude of pictures, flipping it over in his hand; there were pictures of him, Dean, Bobby, Cas, Jack, Mary, Jody, Donna, Claire, Alex, Patience, and Garth.
"This is amazing, where did you get all of these pictures?" he asked in awe.
Y/N grinned, "Jody helped me with the pictures, then I put them all together and printed on the laptop cover."
Pointing to the gift in Dean's lap she said, "open yours next." He pulled the green ribbon on the paper covered with muscle cars decorated with Christmas lights. He ripped the covering, and flipped open the box. Lifting the tissue paper he stared at the object inside.
"Babe," he choked, emotions clogging his throat.
"What did you get?" Sam questioned as he attempted to peer over the box lid
"Do you like it?" she whispered.
He leaned over, sweetly kissed her, and sat back, he pulled the picture frame out of the tissue paper, turning to show it to his brother. It was the picture of Dean and Mary, she was standing behind him, with her arm around him. The photograph had been restored and framed in a black frame. Instead of putting it back in the box to take back to the bunker, he stood up and walked to the long entertainment stand where Y/N had lots of pictures of her and Dean displayed; he moved some other frames around placing the one of he and Mary among them. Y/N blinked back tears because she knew that if he set the frame up here, he must consider being here his home. Walking back to his seat on the floor, he pointed to one of the presents in Y/N's lap.
"Babe, open the one from me next."
She picked up the small one wrapped in brown kraft paper with a smiley face with a Santa hat drawn on it. She started to pick the tape, careful not to rip the paper.
"Y/N, just rip it open," Dean groaned
Squinting her eyes with a sly smile, she said, "I'm trying to save the paper."
"Well, just hurry up," he grumbled as Sam laughed at his impatience.
She pulled out the small box and opened the lid to reveal a plain black leather necklace with a silver clasp. Dean watched her closely as she pulled the jewelry out of the box; she saw a delicate metallic charm. Cupping it in her palm, she stared at it, the tears that she had blinked away moments ago quietly ran down her cheeks. It was a gorgeous pendant with her and Dean's initials intertwined.
"This is so beautiful, did you make this?" she breathed.
"I did," he announced proudly.
She stood up, holding the necklace out to him, "can you put it on me?"
He took the necklace from her as she turned around, lifting her hair. He placed the jewelry around her neck and clasped it; Dean kissing the skin where the clasp had settled.
Turning around she wrapped her arms around him, “I love you,” she whispered against his lips.
Dean groaned as he crushed her against him, capturing her lips with his, instantly deepening the kiss as she clung to him.
As Sam cleared his throat, Dean pressed her closer with one hand as he held a finger out to his brother, telling him to wait a minute. As they broke apart a little breathless, Dean cupped her cheek, his thumb brushing over her bottom lip, he looked into her eyes as she stared into his deepening green ones.
"I love you, Babe."
A crash came from the kitchen as they stepped away from each other.
"Oops...Sorry!" Sam called, "the timer went off, and I was getting the bacon and cinnamon rolls, while you two were," he waved towards them, "you know."

Y/N's face began to heat as she remembered that Sam was in the room, and she was so into the kiss she didn't even hear the timer. She quickly gathered the paper plates with poinsettias and started to serve the food. She handed Dean’s to him first, and he made his way back out into the living room. As she gave Sam his he held her hand so that she would look at him.
"Tink," he murmured, catching her eye. As she looked up at him, he smiled, "You are the best thing that has ever happened to my brother. You have shown him there is more to life than what he has ever had and you truly love him despite all of the shit in our lives, thank you."
The smile radiating from her face confirmed to Sam one of the many reasons his brother loved this girl so much.
"Come on!" Dean yelled from the other room, his mouth full of food. "Let's open the rest of these presents!"
Making their way back in, they began opening the rest. Sam got Y/N a new leather portfolio to display her photographs for presentations and when she opened it up, on the inside left corner was a little embroidered Tinkerbell with her magic wand. Two of the remaining presents were identical packages wrapped in Elvis wrapping paper for the brothers. Dean opened his gift to find a Led Zeppelin box set. Sam began to open his to find a Celine Dion box set.
"I don't understand," Sam shook his head brows knitted, "I don't even like-"
"-lies!" Dean cackled, Y/N's laughter joining his.
"Fine," Sam's lips quirked. "Can we please keep it between the three of us now since Dean doesn't know how to keep a secret."
Y/N put her hand up, still giggling. "I swear if anyone asks me, I will say your favorite singer is Elvis."
"You two suck," he grimaced. "I mean I love it, but you still suck, you have the weirdest sense of humor."
His announcement was met with thundering laughter.
The rest of the day was followed by watching Christmas movies and eating a ham dinner with all the delicious sides. Y/N packed everything in containers to go after that had eaten because she knew that they were leaving early the next morning. Sam went to bed first with the excuse that he knew they had a long day tomorrow.
Dean sat on the corner of the bed, a towel wrapped around his waist lost in the thoughts of their next steps to open the rift to get out Mary and Jack.
Y/N walked in, closing the door behind her. The towel was gripped to her chest as damp hair cascaded down her back. She regarded him as he was staring at the floor, elbows resting on his knees. His hair was almost dry from the shower as she watched the muscles roll in his back. Tilting his head up to look at her she could see the sadness he had hidden from her all day in his eyes. Moving over to him, he sat up and pulled her between his knees. He wrapped his arms around her and rested his head against her chest, taking comfort in her heart's steady beat. Drawing him closer, she ran her fingers through his hair in an effort to ease his burden.
Y/N broke the silence with a whisper, "Do you want to talk about it?"
Nuzzling into her, he shook his head slightly, "We have talked too much about it, tomorrow is when we put it all into action. I just want to enjoy tonight with you."
"Whatever you need, Dean."
He lifted his head, looking up at her, he had a way of seeing right into her soul with just a look that always took her breath away.
"I need you," he rasped.
She bent to brush her lips to his; Dean swiftly took the lead. Hooking his finger at the edge of her towel, it dropped to the floor as he deepened the kiss. Dean flipped his towel open scooting back further on the bed, pulling Y/N with him, she straddled his hips. He pulled back, his eyes meeting hers in a silent question. She nodded her head once before he drove up into her, their moans muffled by their open mouth kisses. Her forearms rested on his shoulders as her hands fisted in his hair. Dean's hands were gripping her hips, one palm covering her new tattoo, fingertips digging in as they moved together at a reckless pace.
It wasn't about making love or marathon sessions; this was about dampening the fire in both of them. They were both worried about what tomorrow was going to bring, and this was the way they would connect without words. Quiet, fast, and hot is what was required. Dean could feel the tightening in his spine and knew he was close, but he knew Y/N needed a little more, sliding his hand between them he used his thumb to brush against the bundle of nerves and with a gasp she threw her head back. His lips moved along her neck, marking her at the spot between her neck and collarbone.
She whined his name, letting him know she was close, he sucked a little harder on her throat as he used a bit more pressure with his thumb. She broke apart in his arms as he felt her flutter around him, he drove into her a few more times before he found his release. Still buried inside Y/N, he held her trembling body, his head resting against her shoulder as they caught their breath.
"I didn't realize how much I needed that," she huffed, shakily.
"Yeah," Dean agreed, "I guess I didn't either." He helped her stand up before they both moved to each side of the bed and crawled between the sheets. Y/N lay on her back with closed eyes as Dean lay next to her, his head propped on his elbow looking down at the woman he loved. The necklace he made her settled against her skin, slightly past her collarbones. With his finger, he lightly traced the intertwined initials. Y/N didn't open her eyes, but a soft smile played on her lips. She sighed his name in her blissful state. Leaning down, he gave her a sweet kiss.
"Thank you for everything today."
Cracking one eye open, she whispered, "This was the best Christmas I have ever had, we will be telling these stories forever."
"You're right," he agreed, as he laid his head on the pillow and pulled her against him as they fell into a peaceful sleep.
Dean crawled out of bed, careful not to wake Y/N. It was still dark out, and he and Sam had to get on the road. He got dressed without the benefit of a light. Walking over to Y/N, curled up under the covers, he stood and watched her for a moment, emotions swirling through him. He brushed her hair back from her face.
He bent and kissed her on the temple as he murmured, "I love you, Babe, always."
He made his way out to Baby, where Sam was waiting, throwing his bag in the back seat. He slid into the driver's side, placing his hands on the steering wheel, his mouth set in a firm line. Sam started to speak, but Dean shook his head.
"Sammy," he grumbled, "just give me until we get out of town, and then we can talk about whatever you want," he glanced at him and added, "within reason."
He cranked the ignition and slowly started to back out of the driveway. He stopped at the end and looked at the little bungalow. The Christmas lights that he had helped Y/N hang up after Thanksgiving twinkled in the dark, bouncing off the snow. He could see the sparkle of the tree through the front window. He pressed that picture in his memory; Dean didn't know when he would be back this time. This house and the memory of his girl looking at him pure love were the two things he would keep close to get him through until he could return. He pulled out onto the street and headed out of town to meet with Rowena and Gabriel. The only noise in the car was Baby's powerful engine growling through the early morning light.

Anyways Morals has a journal
The Book That Contains A Little Bit Of Everything, by Morals
The Book That Contains A Little Bit Of Everything was created by Morals as a journal for her to write down current events, although the book also holds coordinates to places, drawings, and other things Morals wishes to write down.
Morals frequently keeps the book inside of her inventory and never lets it out of there, not wanting what she writes down to be exposed. The hybrid considers the book to very important to her and tries to write at least one thing every few days, and even under the Egg, she still continues her tradition.
Due to Morals being corrupted by the Egg and her constantly fighting it and succeeding numerous times (allowing her to visit pro-omelette citizens as long as she says a codeword), Morals has started to only write in the Alien Alphabet, since Morals believes the Egg can only speak Galatic, not the End Language. After her corruption, anything that isn't written in the Alien Alphabet means that Morals is fully under the Egg's influence for the time being.

Chapter 7
She and Aaron hadn’t kept a home in the traditional sense, not since their parents had passed away.
Hunting wasn’t a terrible life for the Bard family, all considering. They’d had good training, their parents had loved them, and above all, Aaron and Miriam had each other. They were well into their teens when their parents had left for a hunt and never returned.
A careless driver, surprisingly not a monster, had changed the Bard children’s lives forever. That was when Miriam became the official chauffeur for the pair, and Aaron took a class at the local community center on emergency first aid.
The moment Miriam was legally able, she put the family house on the market, sold everything sellable, and bought a decent car that would get her and Aaron wherever they needed to go. The rest of the money had gone into a savings account that had proved invaluable when they were tired of sleeping in a tent or the bench seats of the car.
They rarely splurged, though. No telling when an accident would happen and put one of them out of commission for too long.
And there had been close calls. Some really close calls. For a few seconds in the middle of the dustup with the witch, Miriam had been convinced they needed to quit hunting entirely and find a way to put Aaron through EMT training like he used to dream about when they were little.
Okay, he’d actually wanted to be the ambulance itself, not an EMT, but his intent had been more or less the same.
But the Winchesters had worked the case with them, swooped in and saved Aaron; they were impossibly cool and heroic, older and experienced and full of advice and reassurance. Sam had seemed a little hesitant to encourage them, but Aaron had been so eager and enthusiastic that even the younger Winchester had been won over in the end.
Years passed. The Bards kept up their training, worked cases, usually managed to save people, and above all, they still had each other. Life was decent and simple, if somewhat terrifying on occasion. They were good at their roles, settled, and they accepted where life had taken them.
Then they had a fight, and a stupid one at that. Miriam thought Aaron’s research on their current case was sloppy and incomplete, that he was jumping to conclusions rather than working all the angles, and she’d told him so in no uncertain terms.
She had a tendency to be blunt, overly so with Aaron especially because she knew he was capable of much better work. Maybe she could have pulled her punches, been a little less harsh, but it felt like they’d had this argument an awful lot lately, and she was tired and frustrated.
“I’m not your babysitter,” she snapped, glaring at him over the top of her computer screen. “So buckle down and pull your own goddamn weight already.”
It wasn’t the first time they’d had this particular argument, but it was definitely the worst thus far. Miriam had been unfair, they both knew it, but she refused to apologize. Rather than snapping back, Aaron had gone silent, fuming (sulking, she’d told him), and then he’d taken off to scope out a couple of the secondary sites.
The last thing Miriam had been expecting was a text two hours later that consisted of an address and their codeword that meant drop everything and haul ass ASAP.
She went in cautiously, armed to the teeth with silver to spare for Aaron, and still, it hadn’t been enough. She’d fired her last silver bullet point-blank under the chin of the final werewolf just as it hooked two claws into the side of her neck.
It missed her jugular by centimeters, and the side of her throat was wrecked, but she would live.
It was the sight of Aaron’s blank, staring eyes above the shredded flesh of his throat and chest cavity, torn open and empty, that killed her.
She’d gathered him up, spilling out apologies in ragged sobs. She cradled him against her chest, rocked him as she’d done through the storms of their childhood, after the nightmares that came in the first months of their hunter training, in the days after their parents’ accident.
And she screamed and screamed into the night.
A week after his funeral, she ripped the black cloth from the mirror and stared hard at her reflection. She’d long since realized that she had essentially killed Aaron; she had not made peace with it (how could she ever?), but she’d accepted it, nevertheless.
So when she looked into the mirror, expecting shadows and dark circles, only to be greeted by Aaron’s sorrowful face gazing back at her, she was convinced she’d gone insane.
It had taken her weeks to look at a mirror again.
It wasn’t always Aaron’s face she saw. Sometimes it was her parents, sometimes it was the people they’d failed to save, whether from mistakes made or just shitty luck. Every hunter had regret stories; she and Aaron had been no different.
Sometimes it was just her own reflection, full of grief and longing, emptier than anything she’d ever seen. Every mirror reflected her losses over and over, and after Aaron, she found the weight of them insufferable.
Eventually, she’d just started avoiding mirrors, covering them when she wasn’t strong enough to look away, and life had become marginally more bearable.
She couldn’t hunt anymore, though. It didn’t matter how many hunting buddies, their own or those inherited from their parents, enticed her to help or at least do some research. She pushed everyone away until they eventually stopped reaching out and left her alone, just as she deserved. It was safer this way; if no one was relying on her for anything, she couldn’t let them down.
She’d learned her limits, and she’d learned to watch her goddamned mouth. Price paid, lesson learned.
But when Sam Winchester, prodigal son and younger brother, hunter and researcher extraordinaire, had called in a life debt, she’d foolishly jumped in without a thought to any of those lessons. A desperate hope had sprung up inside her, one she barely put conscious thought to.
Perhaps if she helped the men who’d once saved Aaron, she might bring back some small part of her brother, maybe even absolve herself of his death, if only just a little.
But, once again, she’d been criminally shortsighted.
She was woefully out of her depth here, had no business babysitting any demon, much less one so gifted as Dean Winchester.
She needed to call Sam, tell him to get his ass back, then leave the bunker and barricade the front door behind her. Sam needed to accept that his brother was gone and there was no saving him.
They’d all have been better off if she and Sam had just admitted that from the beginning.
She stood in the kitchen, phone in her hand, staring at it like she had no idea how to use it.
Call Sam, she urged herself. Admit you let him down, you can’t even handle this simple job.
She’d failed him as she’d failed Aaron, and it was going to cost him the same as her earlier failure had cost her.
Just call him, she willed her fingers. Her heartbeat kicked up a few notches, her palms beginning to sweat. Her brain felt claustrophobic, her own body crowded and unfamiliar as she struggled with the simple task of dialing her phone.
Call him now.
But she couldn’t. She didn’t want Sam to return. She wanted... she needed…
Freedom.
Her phone slipped from her fingers, clattered against the side of the kitchen island, and fell to the floor. The case snapped open, tiny electronic parts scattering in every direction.
Her elbows hit the island, and she slumped forward, face in her hands as sobs wracked her exhausted body. The cold metal shocked her fevered skin, and she shivered on the chill surface as the anguish rolled through her. She had nothing left. She was just...
So…
Tired.

Julia could feel their eyes on her every now and then. First it would be Dean; his green eyes would look into the rearview mirror and study her pouring over her bible, head bowed. He would look away and then, not even three minutes later, Sam would turn to check on her, his puppy dog eyes peaking over the back of the seat. She would ignore them and continue on reading, her eyes stinging harshly.
She got the call the night before, just after they rescued Sam from the creepy family that hunted humans for sport. It was Taylor, Beth's husband, that called her, telling her that she needed to come home now. They were supposed to be on their way to Chicago for Beth and Levi's birthday in a day's time; now they were going for a different reason.
Levi was dead. The police had found him in his condo in Chicago after he didn't show up to work for two days. She didn't know how her brother died because at that point, she was a mess. Sam had pulled her into his arms while Dean took the phone, getting the details from Taylor. They were on their way to Chicago as soon as they packed up their things.
Julia had been inconsolable for the first half of the eight-hour drive from Hibbing, Minnesota to Chicago. Dean had stayed with her in the backseat, holding her tightly while Sam drove them. Then Julia fell asleep; when she woke up only an hour later, she was alone in the backseat. She cried silently as she pulled her bible out of her backpack and started reading, trying to find strength from whatever passage she turned to.
Now they were just getting out of the early morning traffic on their way to Winnetka, the village that the Petersen-Alexander family lived in which was only sixteen miles away from Chicago. Beth, Taylor, and Lizzie still lived in the house that the siblings grew up in while keeping rooms for Luke, Abby, Levi, and Julia.
"Jules," Dean spoke up gently as he pulled up to the gates that kept strangers and any enemies off the Petersen property. "We're here."
Julia barely looked up, just enough to give Dean a view of her bloodshot eyes. She looked back down, hearing Dean sigh and roll down his window to speak into the speaker in front of the gate.
"Name?" a gruff voice spoke.
"Dean Winchester," Dean stated. "I'm here with Julia and my brother, Sam."
"Codeword?"
Dean cleared his throat and recited the codeword that Taylor gave him the night before. "Peanut butter cup."
As the gate buzzed and slowly opened, Julia wondered if Lizzie picked the codeword. It had been food before, but Lizzie's favorite candy was a Reese's Peanut Butter cup. She probably insisted that it would be the week's passcode. Her niece was a special one, that was for sure.
The head security guard, a man named Mike that had been with them since Julia was a baby, greeted them at the front of the house. He hardly acknowledged Sam and Dean as Julia got out of the car, immediately pulling her into a tight hug.
Julia felt the tell-tale sting in her eyes as she buried her head in Mike's shoulder.
"I'm so sorry, Jules," Mike said hoarsely; he was just as upset as the siblings, considering they considered Mike and his wife, Judy, their family. "Levi was a good man. One of the best."
Dean felt his heart ache for Julia when he saw his shoulders heave, a sign that she had started crying again. He felt so bad for her on top of his own sadness; he and Levi had been good friends since childhood. Everyone was feeling his loss right now.
Julia pulled back from Mike and wiped her eyes, giving him a tired smile while Sam and Dean started getting their stuff out of the trunk. "How's Judy?"
"She's okay," Mike told her, grabbing her bags from Sam and Dean. "We've missed you around here."
"I've missed you guys too," she assured him. Turning to face the house, she sighed heavily. "Is Abby home yet?"
Mike nodded. "Yep. Maggie got here an hour ago."
"And no Dad?"
"Not yet," he frowned; Dean and Sam copied his expression. "Sorry, Jules."
Julia didn't answer verbally; she reached for his hand and squeezed it before climbing up the steps to the front door. She typed the four-digit code in to unlock the door and opened it when the locks unlocked loudly.
"Auntie Jules!" a squeal erupted from the foyer before Julia was almost knocked over by a small force.
"Lizzie!" Julia plastered a smile on her face for her niece, who probably didn't understand what was going on. All she knew was that Aunt Julia and Aunt Abby had come home earlier than they were meant to. She picked Lizzie up and poked the dimple in her right cheek. "Look at you! You're almost as tall as me!"
Although Lizzie was tall for her five years of age, she wasn't almost as tall as Julia. She was the cutest little girl that Julia had seen, though. She got her dad's face full of freckles and height but everything else was Bethany. The wavy brown hair that all Petersen women inherited, the brown eyes, and the pretty smile.
Lizzie giggled. "Yep!" she exclaimed as her eyes left her aunt and found Dean behind her. "Uncle Dean!"
"Hey, kiddo," he greeted her with a grin, reaching forward to tug on one of her braided pigtails. "Lizzie, you remember Sammy?"
"Hi, Uncle Sammy!" even though Sam and Lizzie had only met three or four times, she was always fond of the tall man. "Your hair is silly!"
Dean chuckled in amusement while Sam smiled. "Hey, Lizzie."
Julia shook her head and hid her laugh. Clearing her throat, she gained her niece's attention once again. "Hey, Lizzie, where's your mom?"
"Upstairs in her room," the bright smile fell from Lizzie's face. "With Aunt Abby."
Julia set Lizzie back down. "I'm gonna go check on her, okay? Why don't you bring Dean and Sam to your dad?"
"Okay!" Lizzie chirped, grabbing Dean's outstretched hand. "Nana Maggie is here, too."
Forcing a smile, Julia waited until Lizzie led Sam and Dean out of the foyer. Mike had already gone to put all of their bags in her room and the guest rooms, so all she had to do was go to Beth and Taylor's room.
She knew as soon as she saw her sisters she would break down again. Levi was a quiet man but he had always watched over them. He was protective and the best big brother Julia could have asked for. The three sisters would feel his loss forever.
Julia wandered around the staircase to the hallway at the back of the foyer. The master bedroom, as well as two guest rooms, and her dad's room were on the main level. The closer she got to the master bedroom, the more she could hear gentle sniffling. She gently knocked on the door before opening.
Beth and Abby were laying together on the king-sized bed, their eyes red and faces puffy. They looked up when Julia entered the room and, when she broke into sobs and ran to the bed, they started crying again.
Julia buried her head in Beth's shoulder, inhaling her rose and vanilla scent. She already felt better in her sisters' arms but she'd be perfect if Levi was still there, too.
-
-
It was a somber night in the Petersen-Alexander house with all three sisters not coming out of the master bedroom since Julia arrived. Sam and Dean had greeted Taylor and Maggie fondly, knowing both of them quite well, and the four of them made sure that Lizzie was entertained and the sisters were checked on every hour.
In the morning, the news had centered around Levi's death. As one of the most eligible bachelors in Chicago, it was a big deal to hear that Levi Petersen had passed away. Taylor had to turn the channel when Maggie burst into tears over her cup of coffee from the rumors that were going around about her nephew.
Julia was the first of the sisters to emerge. At eight, she was freshly showered and dressed in lounge shorts and a PSC t-shirt. She and Taylor greeted each other fondly and then she and Maggie had an emotional reunion.
Maggie was one of Julia's heroes. Her aunt was a spitting image of Naomi, with the wavy brown hair and dimple, but that wasn't the reason why Julia looked up to her. When Naomi first got sick when Julia was ten, Maggie took over as the CEO of Petersen Sports Co.. She was thirty-two years old and previously the head of sales, much like Levi was. She thrived in her new role and kept the company successful while making sure her sister was taken care of while Luke was out hunting every week. And when Naomi died, Maggie was the one to take care of Julia while grieving her sister and still taking care of the family business. Even if Maggie didn't fight or hunt, she was a badass in her own way. She stepped up when she needed to, was a faithful woman, and she loved her family fiercely. Julia hoped to be half of the woman Maggie was as she aged.
"Julia," Maggie sighed into her hair as they hugged tearfully. "I've been worried about you."
Julia pulled away from the hug and wiped her tears away, giving her a confused look. "Why?"
"Well, you're hunting," Maggie pointed out the obvious. "Without your sister, might I add."
"Sam and Dean are great, Aunt Maggie."
"I know they are," Maggie nodded, sending Sam and Dean a warm smile where they sat on one of the couches in the large living room. "I just worry about you kids."
"I know you do," Julia squeezed Maggie's hand. "but I'll be okay. I promise."
Maggie smiled and kissed the top of Julia's head before going to join Lizzie by the coffee table to color from a princess coloring book.
"So," Julia took a deep breathed and smiled at Sam, Dean, and Taylor. "Who wants blueberry pancakes for breakfast?"
"I do!" Lizzie exclaimed excitedly. "You always make them the best!"
"Hey, I heard that, you rugrat!" Beth entered the living room, giving her daughter a mischievous smile. Abby walked in right behind her, both of them showered and freshly dressed.
While Abby greeted Sam and Dean, Beth picked Lizzie up and kissed her cheek, making her giggle, "Sorry, Momma."
"How about I teach your mom how to make them like Nana Naomi taught me?" Julia asked Lizzie. "Extra blueberries?"
Lizzie nodded jerkily. "Extra blueberries."
Beth shook her head in amusement and set down Lizzie before walking over to Sam and Dean.
"Hey, guys," she pulled Dean into a hug, who returned it easily. The Petersen family were huggers and he was comfortable enough with them to return the affection. "How are you?"
"Hanging in there," Dean smiled sadly. "I'm so sorry, Beth."
Beth's dimple popped out as she frowned but gave him a grateful look. "Thanks, Dean," she turned to Sam, wrapping her arms around him. "Sam, you need a haircut."
Sam pressed his lips together while Dean laughed. "Lizzie said that too."
"Yeah," Sam rolled his eyes as Beth started laughing with his brother. "Laugh it up, guys. Real funny."
Dean and Beth continued to laugh until Julia called over for her sister. "Beth, come on!"
Beth sobered up and grinned at the men she considered her brothers. "I better go before she gets all bossy on me."
Dean looked over Beth's head to where Julia stood with Lizzie on her hip, both of them looking over the oldest sister expectantly. She looked good with a kid on her hip, he realized. It made him think of his dream, of Peter, Jonah, and Levi and their life together.
He didn't know that he had a certain glint to his stare as he watched Julia but Beth did. She quickly looked between the two, noticing that Julia was now staring back at him with a small smile and looked to Sam to see if he noticed too.
She raised her eyebrows at him in a silent question; do Julia and Dean have feelings for each other? Sam nodded back at her; they're both oblivious, but yes.
An amused smirk crossed Beth's face as she crossed the living room to her sister and daughter. "All right," she gave in. "Let's go make breakfast, girlies."
Maggie followed Julia, Beth, and Lizzie into the kitchen, leaving Dean, Sam, Abby, and Taylor. Abby waited until the sound of the mixer started before sitting next to Taylor on the couch and bringing up a difficult subject with all three men.
"Did Taylor give you the details about..." she hesitated for a long second, swallowing the lump in her throat. "about Levi?"
"I didn't," Taylor shook his head. "Not all of them, anyway. I figured you'd have a better perspective about the whole thing."
Abby nodded and Dean gave them a curious look. "What are you talking about?"
"Levi's death wasn't—" Taylor shook his head sadly. "It wasn't from natural causes. Someone—or something—murdered him."
"Something?" Sam raised his eyebrows at Taylor, stomach sinking in dread. "You mean you think something supernatural killed him."
"I do."
"I do, too," Abby added. "His condo was locked and the security system was on without any reported break-ins or tripped alarms."
"Have you seen the condo?" Dean asked; Taylor nodded. "Was there anything weird or any sign of a presence?"
"I took pictures of it," Taylor's face paled immensely as he remembered the crime scene. "It—it was bad. I had to identify the body and, well, Levi put up a fight."
Abby sniffed as tears filled her eyes; Sam and Dean gave her sympathetic looks while Taylor wrapped a supportive arm around her shoulders.
"Listen, I looked more into it," she pulled herself together. "There was another death a week or so ago and this morning. Same thing as Levi; locked apartment, no tripped alarms."
"This morning?" Sam asked in shock.
Abby nodded. "Guys, I think this is something," she inhaled deeply. "and I would do this myself but I-I just can't."
"We'll take care of it," Dean assured her quickly; he knew how important this way. This was Levi and he wasn't about to let his friend's little sister look into his murder. "We'll find what did this to Levi."
Abby wiped her eyes and sniffed noisily, taking the tissue Taylor offered her. Dean hadn't seen her cry since Naomi died; Abby was a tough one and didn't wear her heart on her sleeve like her sisters.
"Thank you," she managed to smile at them before standing up. "I'm gonna go see how they're doing in there."
As she left the room, Sam and Dean exchanged serious looks. They had to find out what exactly happened to Levi. They owed it to their friend and his grieving family.
After a delicious breakfast of blueberry pancakes, eggs, sausage—because Lizzie was weird and she didn't like bacon—and bacon, the arrangements for Levi's memorial began. While Maggie was on the phone with the funeral home where Naomi had her memorial—the family knew the home's director, who made sure their family was salted before being cremated—Taylor, Sam, and Dean retreated into the former's study, where they went over the photos of the crime scene in Levi's apartment while Julia, Abby, Beth, and Lizzie went through pictures of Levi to display at the memorial.
There were around twenty photo books to go through since the Petersen family were big on pictures. There were three whole photo albums just on Levi himself, from infancy to adulthood, while there were five books or so of the siblings all together and even more for special events and holidays.
It was heart breaking to go through the books, looking at Levi's smiling face but there was also something calming about it for Julia. Seeing Levi's bright smile in the pictures made her miss him so much but she knew he was happy up in Heaven with their mom. He had been a momma's boy through and through and he was destroyed when Naomi died. Julia would see her big brother again; she was sure of it.
"Look at this one," Beth smiled sadly down at the picture in her hands. She showed Abby and Julia, who were sitting side-by-side across the kitchen table. "Do you remember this?"
"Oh, my God, was that the Easter?" Abby reached for the photo and grinned widely when her question was answered. "It is. God, that was the funniest thing that ever happened to me."
"Yeah, funniest for you, most embarrassing for me," Julia grumbled as she took the picture from her sister; she couldn't help but smile at it anyway. "I tripped and fell at the Easter egg hunt, right in front of the boy I liked."
The picture was from when Julia was ten years old, Abby was thirteen, and Beth and Levi were seventeen. It was Easter and they were all dressed up in their best spring outfits. Right before the picture had been taken by Naomi, there was an Easter egg hunt that Julia participated in while her family watched on. She ended up tripping in the church parking lot in front of Simon Johnson, the boy she liked from her school. Her knees were still bloody and her face was tear-stained in the picture where she was smiling forcefully in front of Levi.
Beth and Abby snickered and Julia tried to glare at them but she couldn't keep it up. "All right, fine," she admitted. "It's kind of funny now."
"It was funny then!" Abby exclaimed before turning to Lizzie who sat next to her mother. "Auntie Jules is clumsy, isn't she?"
Lizzie nodded, her eyes eagerly soaking in the picture as Julia handed it back to Beth. "I like that picture."
"Me too," Beth smiled fondly. "It's going in the sibling pile."
Julia sighed; why must her sister torture her. "Fine."
She grabbed a photo album from the middle of the table and opened, smiling when she realized that it was Levi's teen years. It was full of awkward but sweet pictures. There were some of him with the youth group they all participated in; some from school events like prom and soccer games; there were a lot with Beth, especially when they graduated; and there was even one with Dean by his side, both of them looking at the camera with unamused looks. She saved that one, intending to give it to Dean later.
It was nice to see the pictures and remember times that she may not have on her own. She was seven years younger than Levi and Beth, which meant that some of her memories of them were different with a child's point of view. When she was younger and Levi went to prom with his date, she thought that he needed to hire a stylist. Now, as she looked at the picture, she knew that he dressed as best as he could, considering it was the nineties.
They went through the rest of the photo albums, pulling the pictures they wanted to frame for the memorial. They had to take a few breaks for the sisters to shed some tears. The worst part for them was when they had to decide which picture they needed to blow up for the large frame that would be in front of the church. It hurt them so much to know that the picture was the last representation of their brother.
Lizzie, bless her heart, was a Godsend. Taylor had explained what happened to her Uncle Levi the night before and she was sad but she was smart, too. She understood that her mom and aunts were grieving so she took it upon herself to cheer them up. To distract them, she'd the song that Beth sang to her while tucking her into bed every night.
"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine..." It made all of them smile.
Lizzie's favorite thing, though, was something she had in common with her Aunt Julia. She was a big fan of corny jokes and it was something so simple that had the sisters crying in laughter.
"What do you call a cow with no legs?" she'd say so innocently. "Ground beef!"
Normally, Beth and Abby would snicker politely but when Julia really got going—and she laughed hard at stupid jokes like that—they couldn't contain themselves. And then, Lizzie would join in, looking very happy that she made her mom and aunts laugh.
It was nice to laugh instead of cry. It felt right; Levi never could bear to see his little sisters cry.
-
Dean climbed out of the Impala outside of the apartment building of a woman named Meredith, the latest victim that fit the pattern of Levi's death. They had spent the morning and most of the afternoon pouring over the crime scene photos of Levi's condo and more details about Meredith's death. When they found the woman's address, the brothers decided to go check out the apartment for themselves.
"All right, Dean," Sam got out of the passenger seat, allowing Dean to lock up. "This is the place."
Dean nodded and tugged at the jumpsuit Sam insisted he wear so they could pass as workers for the company that provided the security in Meredith's apartment. "You know, I gotta say that Dad and me did just find without these stupid costumes. I feel like a high school drama dork."
Sam gave him his famous bitch face, making Dean chuckle.
"Hey, what was that play you were in?" he asked Sam. "What was it—Our Town," he nodded, grinning when he recalled how adorable Sam looked a the main tree. "Yeah, you were good. It was cute."
Sam sighed in annoyance. "Look, you wanna pull this off or not?"
"I'm just saying," Dean shrugged as they got closer to the building's entrance. "these outfits cost hard-earned money, okay?"
"Whose?"
"Our," Dean answered Sam's skeptical tone with an obvious one. "You think credit card fraud is easy?"
"Just shut up," Sam scoffed, holding back his laugh as he opened the door for his brother.
They spoke to the landlady, Maria, about who they were and why there were there and she led them up to Meredith's apartment.
"Thanks for letting us look around," Sam thanked Maria as she let them into the apartment.
"Well, the police said they were done with the place, so," she trailed off, shrugging as she and Sam moved further into the apartment. Dean closed the door behind them, his eyes looking around the place curiously.
If he closed his eyes, he could still see the gruesome photos that Taylor took of Levi's apartment. It was messy, obviously from when Levi struck up a fight, and it was bloody. Meredith's apartment was bloody, too. The white carpet was absolutely destroyed from the blood that was soaked up in it.
"You guys said you were with the alarm company?" Maria asked them.
"That's right," Dean confirmed.
"Well, no offense, but your alarm's about as useful as boobs on a man."
Dean and Sam exchanged a taken aback look.
"Well, that's why we're here," Dean assured her. "To see what went wrong and stop it from happening again."
As Dean started to look around the living room, Sam asked Maria, "Now, ma'am, you found the body?"
"Yeah."
"Right after it happened?"
"No, just this morning," Maria sighed sadly. "Meredith's work called—she hadn't shown up in a few days. I knocked on the door and that was when I noticed the smell."
Dean nodded and studied the windows, looking for any disturbances. "Any windows open? Any sign of a break-in?"
"No, the windows were locked, the front door bolted," Maria told him. "The chain was on the door and we had to cut it just to get in."
Dean turned back to her. "And the alarm was still on?"
Maria nodded. "Like I said, bang-up job your company's doing."
Dean hummed, his eyes searching the area of the room where it faded into the kitchen. "You see any overturned furniture, broken glass, signs of a struggle?"
"Everything was in perfect condition," Maria's eyes filled with tears. "Except—except Meredith."
"And what condition was Meredith in?" Sam wondered, remembering the police report on Levi.
"Meredith was all over, in pieces. The guy who killed her must have been some kind of whack-job," Maria shook her head in disgust. "But I tell you, if I didn't know any better, I'd have said it was a wild animal that did it."
Dean pressed his lips together and bowed his head; the report had said the same thing about Levi's body. Not about the wild animal, but that he was in pieces. When he read that part of the report, he had to take a minute to pull himself together. He couldn't imagine Levi—who was the closest to a best friend that Dean had—like that.
Sam, seeing the distant look in Dean's eyes, turned to Maria. "Ma'am, do you mind if we take some time to give this place a once-over."
"Oh, well, go right ahead," Maria agreed. "Knock yourself out."
As soon as Maria left the apartment and the door was shut firmly behind her, Dean pulled the EMF meter out of the tool box he brought. "So, a killer walked in and out of the apartment—No weapons, no prints, nothing."
The EMF meter whirled to life as Sam sighed. "Just like Levi's place," he stated. "So, you talked to the cops, right?"
Dean nodded. "Nothing we don't already know," he told his brother. "but the deputy I talked to told me something and it matched right up to Levi's case."
Sam raised his eyebrows expectantly. "Hmm?"
"Meredith's heart was missing."
"Just like Levi's?"
"Just like Levi's," Dean confirmed as he started waving the EMF meter around the room.
"So, what do you think we're dealing with?" Sam wondered he finished his own snooping and met back up with Dean in the middle of the room.
"Well, Maria said that it looked like an animal attacked Meredith," Dean reminded him. "Maybe it was a werewolf?"
"No," Sam shook his head. "No, the lunar cycle's not right. Plus, if it was a creature, it would've left some kind of trace."
Dean nodded in agreement, catching some of Meredith's blood out of the corner of his eye. He looked down at the blood splatter fully, eyebrows furrowing when he saw that the drops were in some kind of pattern.
"See if you can find any masking tape around," he said to Sam.
Sam went searching throughout the apartment and it didn't take long until he found some electrical tape in the junk drawer in the kitchen. Dean got to his knees and started taping the stains together, like a gruesome connect-the-dots challenge.
The tape made out a symbol that Dean had never seen before. There was a circle in the middle with two lines going off either side of it and curving up on one side and down on the other.
Sam studied the symbol with furrowed brows. "Have you ever seen that symbol before?"
Dean shook his head. "Never."
"Me either."
-
After talking to the bartender at the bar that Amanda worked at, Dean walked back to the table where Sam was waiting for him, pages deep into their dad's journal. He sat on the stool across from his brother and tapped the surface of the table, almost impatiently.
Sam looked up from the journal and Dean sighed, "I talked to the bartender."
"And did you get anything besides her number?"
Dean rolled his eyes at his brother. "No, and I didn't ask for it, either."
"Really?" Dean wanted to punch the bewildered look off of Sam's face. "Why?"
"Dude, one of our friends—who was pretty much family—just died," Dean avoided his brother's eyes; truth was, it didn't feel right drinking and flirting with attractive women while Julia was at her house mourning her older brother.
"Hmm," Sam hummed and Dean looked over at him with narrowed eyes; Sam quickly moved on, "so, what did you find out, then?"
"Meredith worked here; she waited tables," Dean told him something they both already knew. "Everybody here was her friend. Everybody said she was normal. She didn't do or say anything weird before she died, so..."
"Huh..."
"Yep," Dean clicked his tongue. "So, did you find anything out about that symbol?"
"Nope, nothing," Sam shook his head. "It wasn't in Dad's journals or in any of the usual books. I just have to dig a little deeper, I guess."
"Okay..." Dean tapped his fingers on the table again as he tried to think of something that would help. "Well, what about the first victim? The one before Levi?"
"Right, yeah," Sam pulled a newspaper clipping out of his jacket pocket, handing it to Dean. "His name was Ben Swardstrom. Last month he was found mutilated in his town house. Same deal as Levi and Meredith—the door was locked, the alarm was on."
"Was there any connection between the three of them?" Dean asked as he skimmed the article.
"Not that I can tell," Sam sighed. "I mean, not yet, at least. Levi worked for PSC, Ben was a banker, and Meredith was a waitress. None of them met or knew anyone in common."
Dean handed the newspaper clipping back to Sam. "So, we have nothing."
When he didn't get an answer from his brother, he looked over at him. Sam was looking across the bar and, when Dean followed his gaze, he saw that there was a tall woman with short blonde hair seated at a table with a few other people.
"Sam?" he looked back to his brother. "Hello?"
Sam quickly stood up and left the table, heading across the bar to the blonde woman. Dean quickly followed him, watching, bewildered, as Sam hugged the woman fondly.
"Sam," the woman pulled away from the hug. "What are you doing here?"
"Uh, I'm just in town visiting friends," Sam answered her with a half-lie.
The woman looked around Sam, her eyes sliding past Dean without a pause. "Where are they?"
Sam stiffened for a second before he spoke. "Well, they're not here right now. But, what about you, Meg? I thought you were going to California?"
Dean furrowed his eyebrows. Is that how Sam knew this chick? He met her while he was trying to hitchhike his way to California to find their dad?
"Oh, I did," Meg—that was what Sam called her—told him. "I came, I saw, I conquered. Oh, and I met what's-his-name, something Michael Murray at a bar."
"Who?" Sam looked confused.
Dean knew who she was talking about, though. Julia was a big fan of One Tree Hill and watched it every week when a new episode premiered. Chad Michael Murray played one of the main characters that Julia wasn't a fan of because he cheated on Brooke with Peyton and it was a whole thing. He didn't even know he knew exactly what she passionately rambled about until this moment; did this mean he was a fan of One Tree Hill?
"Oh, it doesn't matter," Meg grinned up at Sam. "Anyway, the whole scene got old, so I'm living here for a while."
Having enough of being left out of the conversation, Dean cleared his throat to get their attention. He was promptly ignored.
"You're from Chicago?" Sam asked her in surprise.
"No, Andover, Massachusetts," Meg told him. "God, Sam, what are the odds we'd run into each other?"
"Yeah, I know," Sam smiled. "I thought I'd never see you again."
"Well, I'm glad you were wrong."
From the looks Dean saw coming from Meg to Sam, it looked like those two had a connection. He grinned, amused like he always was when Sam met someone he was interested in, and cleared his throat again.
Meg immediately turned to glare at him. "Dude, cover your mouth."
Sam realized that Dean was there. "Yeah, um, I'm sorry, Meg," he apologized to the blonde. "This is, uh—this is my brother, Dean."
Meg gave him a surprised look. "This is Dean?"
Sam nodded while Dean smiled charmingly. "So, you've heard of me?"
"Oh, yeah, I've heard of you," Meg said; Dean was taken aback by the hostility in her voice. "It's nice, the way you treat your brother like luggage."
Dean furrowed his eyebrows; maybe her head her wrong. "Sorry?"
"Why don't you let him do what he wants to do?" Meg scolded him like she had any right to. "Stop dragging him over God's green earth."
"Meg, it's all right," Sam intervened; Dean gave him a surprised look. Is that what Sam really thought about him?
"Okay, this is awkward," Dean mumbled, wishing Julia was there to break the ice. "I'm gonna go get a drink now."
Dean only got through half a beer when Sam all but dragged him out of the bar. Dean immediately started questioning him, wondering exactly had happened earlier.
"Who the fuck was she?" he asked as they walked through the parking lot.
"I don't really now," Sam admitted. "I only met her once. Meeting up with her again? I don't know, man, it's weird."
Dean didn't pay much attention to Sam's concerns. "And what was she saying, huh? I treat you like luggage? What, were you bitching about me to some chick?"
"Look, I'm sorry, Dean," Sam sighed. "It was when we had that huge fight when I was in that bus stop in Indiana...but that's not important, just listen—"
"Well, is there any truth to what she's saying?" Dean interrupted him worriedly. "I mean, am I keeping you against your will, Sam?"
"No, of course not," Sam assured him. "Now, would you listen?"
"What?" Dean stopped walking once they crossed the street; Sam did the same and faced him.
"I think there's something strange going on here, Dean," Sam stated. "Like, our kind of strange. Maybe even a lead."
Dean blinked at him. "Why do you say that?"
"I met Meg weeks ago, literally on the side of the road and now I run into her in some random bar in Chicago?" Sam pointed out. "I mean, the same bar where a waitress was killed and the same time Levi was slaughtered by something supernatural? You don't think that's a little weird?"
Dean didn't know what to think. Maybe Sam was right. Maybe it couldn't be a coincidence but even if it was, they could still check Meg out to see if she did anything suspicious.
"Okay, so you follow her," Dean suggested. "I'm gonna go back to the house and look through their library. See if they have anything on that symbol."
"Okay," Sam nodded. "and check to see if there's really a Meg Masters from Andover, Massachusetts."
Dean agreed and the brothers split up.
-
-
Julia wandered through the house, looking for Dean. She had heard the Impala roll up to the house around ten but she hadn't seen him at all in the hours since. Granted, it was midnight and pretty much everyone else was asleep, or trying to fall asleep, but Dean was a night owl. He usually stayed up until the infomercials came on and even then, he'd sit and watch some of them that he thought were interesting—he was especially interested in the knives that claimed to cut through anything, which Julia thought was kind of adorable.
She entered the small library that was connected to the study and was surprised to see Dean at the large table in the middle of the room, flipping through some pages in one of her dad's old hunting journals.
"Hey," she greeted him as she walked over and sat in the seat next to him.
"Hey," he gave her a small and concerned smile. "How are you?"
"I'm managing," Julia tried to conjure a full smile but she didn't have it in her. "What are you doing?"
Dean hesitated for a couple of seconds and Julia could tell that he was seriously thinking about something.
Finally, when he spoke, his voice was careful. "I'm gonna tell you something and it's gonna be hard to take," he said cautiously; Julia stiffened nervously. "Abby and Taylor thought that something was off about Levi's death so Sam and I are looking into it."
Julia swallowed harshly as she took in the new information, her eyes stinging. She let herself shed a few tears before forcefully pulling herself together. If something that they hunted killed Levi, then she owed it to him to help find out what—or who—it was.
"What do you have so far?"
"Julia—"
"I'm not saying that I want to go hunt the thing," Julia cut him off and grabbed his hand; he was the one to give her a comforting squeeze this time and it almost made her cry again. "I just—I want to help if I can. I need to help, Dean."
"Okay," Dean's green eyes stared sadly into her hazel ones. "Okay, there was another victim this morning so Sam and I went to check it out. The apartment was locked, the alarm wasn't tripped, and there was no sign of forced entry. We found something, though."
He took his phone and pulled up the picture he had taken of the symbol. Once he handed her the phone, Julia studied it for a minute or so before her eyes lit up in recognition.
"I know what that is," she declared, standing up to head to one of the large bookshelves.
Dean followed her with his eyes. "You do?"
Julia nodded, finding the book she was looking and pulling it from the shelf. "Yeah," she confirmed as she walked back over to him. "It took me a second to place it, but yeah, I know it," she flipped through the book. "My dad...he told me about this one time."
"Okay, so what is it?"
"It's Zoroastrian," Julia informed him. "It's old, like two thousand years before Jesus was born. It's a sigil for Daeva."
Dean furrowed his eyebrows. "What's a Daeva?"
Julia skimmed the information on the page she stopped at, the familiar symbol inked into the top. "It translates to 'demon of darkness'," she read. "The Zoroastrian demons are savage and animalistic."
Dean looked at one of the drawing of the demon. "Like a demonic pitbull?"
"Exactly," Julia nodded at him and then looked back to the book. "This says that the Daevas have to be summoned or conjured."
"So, someone's controlling it?" Dean asked.
"Yeah and they look terrifying," Julia's voice wavered as her eyes started to sting again. "If Levi...I mean, who would want to kill him? Why would someone do this to him?"
Dean couldn't stand to see Julia so upset and not comfort her. He wrapped his arms around her shoulders, bringing her into his chest. Her body shook with sobs but Dean held on tight, determined to support her just like she always supported him. He rested his cheek on the top of her head, whispering comforting words.
It wasn't until Julia fell asleep in his arms that Dean let his own tears fall.
-
Levi's memorial was scheduled for the next day, his and Beth's birthday. Beth insisted that it was done that day so she could give him one last birthday party. The house was quiet in the morning as everyone gathered in the foyer, dressed in black, to pray before they left the church. Dean didn't pray—he didn't really at all—but for Levi, he did. He held onto Julia's and Sam's hands and prayed to whoever or whatever was out there, hoping that the Petersen family would find peace with the loss of Levi and that his friend was up in Heaven like he told Dean he would be going after he died during one of the conversations in high school about faith, Christianity, and God.
The church was crowded when they arrived and the family was swept up in condolences from PSC employees, family friends, school friends, and church members. They were all very kind but, like any church, there were a couple of people who just seemed like snobs to Dean.
The memorial itself was beautiful; a large picture of Levi was at the front of the church next to the podium where the pastor spoke and there were more pictures in white frames around the church that detailed Levi's life with friends and family. Dean sat in the front row with the Petersen family on one side of Julia—with Abby on the other side of her—holding her hand and letting her squeeze it as tightly as she wanted.
There were eulogies and kind words spoken about Levi. Beth's speech was by far the most moving and it had Julia quietly sobbing into Dean's shoulder, his own tears falling down his cheeks as he held onto her. The pastor's message was moving, too, and for a second, it made Dean appreciate the faith that Julia, Levi, and the rest of the Petersen family had.
When the service was over, completed with a rendition of Amazing Grace from the church's choir, they moved into the banquet hall part of the building to enjoy a meal in remembrance of Levi. It was a potluck; made up of foods brought in by church members and Levi's friends.
It was after Dean finished eating that Sam pulled him aside to tell him about his night of watching Meg. It didn't really shock him to find out that Sam was right about seeing Meg was too much of a coincidence. It was her that summoned the Daeva and it was her that killed Levi.
"That's not all," Sam said as Dean's blood boiled. "She was communicating with someone."
"Someone?" Dean raised his eyebrows. "With who, the Daeva?"
"No, you told me those things were savages," Sam shook his head. "No, this was someone different. "Someone who's giving her orders. Someone who's coming to that warehouse."
Dean closed his eyes in realization; he had looked up some more information on the other victims and he had completely forgotten to tell Sam what he found.
"Shit," he muttered under his breath. "I looked into the records of the other victims. We missed something."
"What?"
"The first victim, the old man, he spent his whole life in Chicago but he wasn't born here," Dean informed his brother. "He was born in Lawrence, Kansas."
Sam's eyes widened in shock. "What?"
"Mmhm," Dean nodded. "and Meredith, it turns out she was adopted. And guess where she's from?"
"Lawrence, Kansas," Sam breathed. "Shit."
Dean hummed. "Yeah."
"I mean, it is where the demon killed Mom," Sam sighed. "That's where everything started. You think that Meg's tied up with the demon?"
"I think it's a definite possibility."
Sam frowned. "I don't understand. What's the significance of Lawrence? Why was Levi targeted? How do these Daeva things fit in?"
"Well, we're from Lawrence," Dean pointed out. "and Levi was practically family."
"And the Daeva?"
"Beats me," Dean shrugged. "but I say we trash that black altar, grab Meg, and have ourselves a friendly little interrogation."
"No, we can't," Sam shook his head immediately. "We shouldn't tip her off. We've gotta stake out that warehouse. We've gotta see who, or what, is showing up to meet her."
"Fine, we'll go tonight," Dean agreed. "In the meantime, we need to support Jules."
Sam nodded and clapped Dean's shoulder. "Yeah," he stated. "We do."
-
The hallway to the motel room Sam got for them seemed much longer after they were thrown around by Meg and her little Daeva friends. Sam trashed the black altar she was using to control the demonic pit bulls but not before they got a little slashes in; Sam's right cheek had three claw marks scratched into it and, compared to him, Dean was let off easily.
"Why didn't you just leave that stuff in the car?" Dean asked his brother about the duffle bag full of weapons he was carrying as he pulled the room key out of his jacket.
"I said it before, and I'll say it again," Sam said, adjusting the bag's strap on his shoulder. "Better safe than sorry."
Dean shrugged and unlocked the door; he walked into the room but stopped just beyond the threshold when he saw two tall but dark figures standing near the window.
"Hey!" Dean barked at them, reaching for his gun.
The two men turned around as Sam reached for the lights, allowing him and Dean to see them clearly. The brothers recognized them immediately; Dean felt hope swell in his chest.
"Luke?" his eyes flicked between the blonde man and the brunette man. "Dad?"
John smiled warmly at his sons, his dimples making an appearance. "Hey, boys."
Dean didn't care if he usually didn't do chick-flick moments. He hadn't seen his dad in almost nine months and he thought he was dead for half that time. He walked forward at the same time as John, both of them pulling each other into a warm but strong hug.
Dean inhaled the usual scent that his dad gave off, peppermint and leather, and committed it to his memory for the thousandth time. The hug ended then, as Sam and John greeted each other, and he walked over to Luke to shake his hand—Luke was definitely not as touchy-feely as his children were.
"Luke," he greeted Julia's father; Luke's grip was as firm as it usually was but there was a sadness in his blue eyes that wasn't always there. "I'm really sorry about Levi."
"Thanks, Dean," Luke nodded, his gruff voice wavering only a little. "How are my girls?"
"Managing," Dean told him. "but they need you."
Luke pressed his lips together but didn't say anything; he wasn't positive, but Dean took that to mean that Luke wasn't visiting his grieving daughters while he was in town. It was discouraging and he grew irritated enough to turn away from the older man.
Dean had never really loved Luke—despite the fact that he was his dad's best friend—but he never disliked him, either. Now, though, his respect for the man had plummeted. His son had died and he wasn't at the memorial and he wasn't going to show up for his daughters, either. If Dean knew Naomi—and he did, she was the closest thing he ever had to a mother—she'd be rolling over in her grave right now at her husband's behavior.
"Dad, it was a trap," Dean focused on what was happening at the moment instead of letting his anger at Luke get the better of him. "I didn't know, I'm sorry."
"It's all right," John nodded with a small smile. "We thought it might've been."
"Were you there?"
"We got there just in time to see the girl fall from the building," Luke told him and Sam. "She was the one who killed Levi, right?"
Sam and Dean nodded in unison. "Yes, sir."
Luke inhaled deeply, his eyes flicking to meet John's. "Good. That's—that's good."
Well, as least he seemed grateful that his son's murderer was dead, Dean thought to himself.
"Well, the trap doesn't surprise me," John kept the conversation going, though there was a hint of sadness in his eyes, as well. "It's tried to stop me before."
Sam looked at him in surprise. "The demon has?"
John nodded. "It knows we're close," he told his sons. "It knows I'm gonna kill it. Not just exorcise it or send it back to Hell—actually kill it."
Dean furrowed his eyebrows; from what Julia told him and what he already knew, he didn't think demons could actually be killed. "How?"
John and Luke shared smiles. "We're working on that."
"Let us come with you," Sam insisted immediately. "We'll help."
"No, Sam," John bowed his head as he denied is youngest son. "Not yet. Listen, try to understand, this demon is a scary son of a bitch. I don't want you caught in the crossfire. I don't want you hurt."
"Dad, you don't have to worry about us," Sam tried to talk sense into his father.
"Of course, I do. I'm your father," John shook his head and then paused, his eyes softening. "Listen, Sammy, last time we were together, we had one hell of a fight."
Sam's lips pursed as he started to tear up. "Yes, sir."
John sniffed. "It's good to see you again," he said thickly. "It's been a long time."
"Too long," Sam agreed; the two hugged, tightly holding onto each other as they fought their emotions.
To matter the circumstances, Dean was glad this was happening. It'd been four years since that nasty fight when Sam took off for Stanford; it had been one of the worst nights of his life; Sam was gone, John was an angry mess, and Dean's favorite person in the world had left him. Things were looking up now, though. Sam was by his side—until they found the demon, at least—Julia was hunting with them, and his dad was okay.
John and Sam finished their hug and John was looking at Dean tearfully when he was forcefully thrown back against the wall with some invisible force. Sam went down next, falling hard on his side when the Daeva attacked him, and then it was Luke who was on the floor.
"No!" Dean shouted before he was soaring through the air, too.
There was a lot of screaming from John and Luke as the Daeva seemed to focus on them but Dean couldn't focus on that them with all of his attention as he tried to get away from the Daeva knocking him around. Frankly, the grunts of pain Sam was letting out concerned him more but he couldn't shake the Daeva on his tail.
"Shut your eyes!" he heard Sam shout just after the Daeva swiped its claws down his forehead. "These things are shadow demons, so let's light 'em up!"
Dean covered his eyes as Sam lit a flare; flooding the room with bright light and smoke. The Daeva attacking him disappeared and so did the ones on John and Luke. He slowly got to his feet as he coughed heavily and tried to make his way to John.
"Dad?"
"Over here!" John called back to him.
Dean followed his voice and found his dad where he was tossed in the kitchen. He ducked under John's shoulder and helped him up while Sam got Luke to his feet. The four of them piled out of the bright and smoky room and tried to get out of the motel as fast as they could.
"All right, come on," Sam said hurriedly as they approached the Impala; he let Luke lean against the car while he put the duffle bag full of weapons into the backseat. "We don't have much time. As soon as the flare's out, they'll be back."
"Wait, wait, wait," Dean stopped him, his mind racing. He took in a deep breath as he turned to face John and Luke. "You guys can't come with us."
"What?" Sam looked to him in shock. "What are you talking about?"
"You boys," John argued breathlessly. "You're beat to Hell."
"We'll be all right."
"Dean, we should stick together," Sam protested angrily. "We'll go after those demons—"
"Sam, listen to me!" Dean interrupted him. "We almost got Dad and Luke killed in there. Don't you understand? They're not gonna stop, they're gonna try again. They're gonna use us to get to them. I mean, Meg was right, Dad's vulnerable when he's with us. He's—he's stronger without us around."
Dean saw the look of realization and understanding on his dad's face.
Sam saw it, too. "Dad, no," he put his hands on John's shoulders. "After everything, after all the time we spent looking for you...Please, I gotta be a part of this fight."
"Sammy, this fight is just starting," John grabbed Sam's wrist. "and we are all gonna have a part to play. For now, you've got to trust me, son. Okay? You've gotta let me go."
Sam hesitated for a couple of seconds before he finally nodded and let go of John's shoulders. Luke, who was in much better shape than John was, went to his friend's side and helped him stand on his own.
"He'll be all right," Luke assured Sam and Dean. "I'll take care of him. You take care of my Jujube."
Dean pressed his lips together and nodded; he had hoped that Luke could stay around for Julia, Beth, and Abby but now he saw that it wouldn't be safe. Luke was just as wanted by the Daeva as John was and he couldn't bring it around his children, sister-in-law, and granddaughter. For now, it was best for him to leave.
John smiled at his sons. "Be careful, boys."
Dean and Sam watched as Luke and John limped away, back down the alleyway to John's truck. As the truck started and pulled away, Dean grabbed Sam's arm and urged him toward the Impala.

thinkin about this post about dean’s winchester-only dialect and how that has to be the way sam basically learned to speak. like how the second dean showed up at stanford they were both speaking their batshit metaphor-slang codewords and how that must have been a relief for sam? like, nothing weird i just think it must have been really lonely for sam to go away to college (don’t you ever come back) and have no one around who even speaks the same language as him and i think my friend sam winchester was very brave
#this doesn't make any sense i just love sam#and i think about college sam a lot#he learned to speak winchester before he learned english send tweet#spn

S1 E10: Asylum
First || Previous || Next
Before we start, I'd like to remind everyone that mentally ill people are rarely a danger to anyone but themselves and society has highly stigmatized us against the rest of the world, please stop using mental illness as fodder for your scary stories.
Has anyone ever actually broken into an abandoned asylum or is that made up for horror movies and creepy tv episodes
Sam makes a good point about maybe not trusting unknown numbers texting them random coordinates
I will admit that's a good bit they came up with of pushy reporter/good Samaritan
Good fucking grief do the teens in this town have nothing better to do... if a boy takes you on a date to break into an abandoned asylum against your will, dump him
Stop fucking splitting up, that's when things go bad!
STOP SPLITTING UP, IDIOTS
How is it that Sam and Dean don't have a codeword to use when they call each other on a job to make sure they're actually them like... That seems like something they should have established right after the shapeshifter fiasco
?? They've been at this for 6 months already??? I thought it was like... 2 months, maybe 3. They do NOT show the passage of time on this show very well.
???? Ellicott turned to fucking stone instead of burning up like other ghosts??????????? What the fuck??????????????
"Asylum" final thoughts: I do appreciate that they made the doctor the bad guy instead of the patients but I still think we should stop setting ghost stories in asylums, full stop. Just. Just find something that doesn't actively hurt people irl. Please.

Past Haunts-Part 20
A/N: Guys! This is the last part. There is an epilogue that will be posted next Sunday but after that, no more Past Haunts. I enjoyed seeing everyone’s reactions as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it. I am sad to see it go too!!!

'He's lying,' I thought to myself. 'He has to be lying. No way, someone who looks like him was a virgin at 17 years old.'
"Dean, don't lie to me."
"I'm not Becks, " he tells me sincerely. "You were my first and I never regretted it."
"Really?" I tried to fight the smile but it crept onto my face.
Dean huffed a half laugh. "You think I would have been that damn clumsy otherwise. Hell, I as nervous as a whore in church on Sunday morning."
*FLASHBACK (Rebecca's POV)
After Dean had kissed me, we went back to watching the movie. Toward the end of All Saints Day, I reached over and placed my fingers with his. He didn't acknowledge the movement other than the grin he got on his face. When the movie was over and the pizza and popcorn was all gone, Sammy began being the irritating little brother I had heard other kids complain about. He kept asking a million questions and I could tell Dean was getting annoyed. I pull some money out of my pocket and give it to the whiny kid.
"Here ya go. There's an arcade down at the end. Go crazy!"
Sammy's whole face lights up as he jumps off the bed. "Can I, Dean? I promise not to go any further."
Dean looks at me and then to his brother. He gets a serious look on his face and tells him, "No further. And if you see anything….suspicious come back here. You know the codeword. "
"Poughkeepsie, " Sam says with a nod. He grabs his jacket and heads out the door.
Dean turns to me then.
*END FLASHBACK*
"You weren't the only one! As soon as Sam left the room, I realized what I had done and, to be honest, I seriously thought I was going to be sick."
"I'm glad you didn't. Would've put a damper on the mood."
I laugh and notice Dean scoot closer on the couch.
"So you didn't get rid of my brother to seduce me Becks?"

*FLASHBACK (Dean's POV)*
As soon as the door shut behind Sammy, my whole body went on alert. I was alone in the room with a girl. What was I supposed to do? What was she expecting me to do? Do I just pretend that it's no big deal or do I try to kiss her again? Honestly, I want to kiss her again
And again and again, and more. But I don't know what she wants. What if Sammy had just been aggravating her too?
I take a cautious step closer to her and she mimics me. A few more steps and she is right there in front of me. I can smell her strawberry shampoo, see her kiss-swollen lips. I lick mine as I tentatively reach for her.
I wrap my arms around her waist and pull her to me. She loops hers around my neck and I go for it. This kiss is even better than the first. I take a chance and swipe my tongue across the seam of her closed lips. She gasps and it gives me just enough room to lick into her mouth.
She tastes like heaven, if there was a heaven. Our tongues wrestle for dominance. I revel in the feat as I lightly suck on hers, causing her to moan.
Next thing I know, we are laid out on the bed in just our underclothes, her in her bra and panties and me in my boxers and socks.
*END FLASHBACK*
"No," I answer him breathlessly and move towards him. "I had no idea what I was doing."
"Me neither," he confesses as he reaches out and tucks my hair behind my ear.
"Do you now?" I ask without thinking, just looking into those green eyes. I cringe as I realize what I said. I really didn't want to know how many women he has been with all this time.
"I've gotten better," he says smugly. "I know not to use a sandwich wrapper as protection."
We both bust out laughing at that memory.
*FLASHBACK (3rd person POV)*
Dean nervously pulls Rebecca's bra straps over her shoulders. As soon as there was slack in the bands, he reached around and unclasped her bra, having trouble with the fastener. He pulls the material from her body and drops it to the floor. He slowly lowers his head and places a gentle kiss to her pink nipple, flicking his tongue lightly across the hardening bud.
He pulls away and sets up on his knees. His dick thickening in his shorts. Rebecca lays on to her back and looks up at him. He hooks his fingers into her panties and leisurely pulls them off her hips and down her legs. Stepping backwards off the bed, he drops the lingerie into the floor and, never taking his eyes from hers, drops his boxers and steps out of them.
Climbing back up the bed, he claims her mouth. He can feel his dick growing and rubbing against the outside of her thigh.
"Dean," Rebecca breathes out. Their eyes meet and they both realize that this is actually happening. They are about to have sex.
"Do you have a condom?" she asks him and Dean internally chastises himself for not replacing the one in his wallet that his dad gave him when he became a teenager. A four-year-old condom probably wouldn't do the job properly.
He looks around and sees the cellophane wrappers from the sandwich he had for dinner the day before. He grabs the plastic wrapper and shake the crumbs off it. It keeps sandwiches fresh and dry so it should work, right? He wraps it around his length, making sure the tip is covered. Once he is confident that he is protected, he slides between Rebecca's legs and grabs the base.
"Ready baby?"
Rebecca is biting on her bottom lip but nods. Dean runs the tip along her slit and stops right at her entrance. "This might hurt and I'm sorry."
"Okay," Rebecca answers timidly.
Dean pushes past her folds and right into her body. Only the head though. Rebecca is so tight he knows it's going to take some work before he can get all the way in.
He leans down and captures her mouth in a kiss, thrusting his tongue between her lips. Slowly he pulls out and pushes his dick back into her body, getting an inch or two further. They resume kissing as he continues the task of pushing and pulling until he is finally fully seated inside her. She whimpers and he looks at her, fearful he had hurt her.
"Are you okay?"
"Yea, just keeping doing what you're doing. It'll get better."
Dean begins pumping into her as she becomes vocal with moans and grunts; he does too. Her tight channel squeezes him so deliciously that in no time he is cumming and he feels her body clamp down on him as she throws her head back in a wail. "Oh God! Dean!"
*END FLASHBACK*
"Oh my god!" I exclaimed with a laugh. "I totally forgot about that! No damn wonder I got pregnant!"
Dean laughs along with me for a minute then becomes serious, "You know, I really thought it would work. Rebecca, I didn't mean to…"
"I know," I assure him as I move next to him and turn to look at him. "And if I had had a way to contact you when that test was positive, I would have." I look up at him and the expression on his face and in his eyes takes my breath away. The display of complete adoration and love is evident.
"I don't have any plastic wrap but do you-" I begin but am cut off when his mouth covers mine. I willingly open my mouth when his tongue sweeps across my lips. We kiss until we both need air and part ways, panting.
"Are you sure?" he asks.
"Absolutely, Dean. I have loved you for 14 years. I want this. I want you."
Dean picks me up bridal style and I direct him to my bedroom.
As we undress each other, we both take notice of the changes in both of us. He traces a fingertip along the stretch marks that litter my body and I observe the muscles and scars that weren't on him before. I kiss each one as if he is made of glass.
When he drags his boxers off, I gasp. "You're, um… bigger than I remember."
He smirks and leans down, kissing me softly. "Don't worry baby. I'll go as slow as I did the last time."
He grabs his jeans and pulls out his wallet. I see the foil packet as he rips it open and rolls the condom down his length.
He crawls over me and hovers above my body. "I love you Rebecca Quentin. I always have." His kisses distract me completely as he enters my body. The feeling of being full overwhelms me and I have to disconnect from him to catch a breath.
"Fuck Dean," I exclaim. "I forgot how good this felt." We lock eyes and breathe each other's air while my body adjusts. As soon as I adapt to him inside me, I speak up. "Ok, move."
For over an hour we are connected until both of us find our release, together. He reluctantly pulls out and away from me to discard the used condom as I glance at the clock.
"Oh shit," I utter, clambering to get up and get dressed. "Whitney will be home in 15 minutes.”
When our daughter comes through the door, Dean and I are sitting at the kitchen table, as if just a few minutes ago we weren't in the throes of passion. Dean only stays for a few minutes after she arrives, saying he has to go pick Sam up and head out of town.
He gives Whitney a hug and it pulls at my heartstrings, seeing them together. He approaches me and hugs me. I can tell he doesn't want to let go; I don't either. Ultimately he pulls away and heads for the door, looking back at us one more time. We follow him to the door, watching him get in the car and back out of the driveway.
I hug Whitney to my side as we watch the taillights of that black car from my past disappear. The boy I loved, the man I love now, disappear with them.
"That was him, wasn't it?" she asks, timid and quiet.
"Who, hun?"
"My dad. That was my father, right?"
I look down into her usually bright green eyes, this time though they were dull and tear-filled.
"Yea," I sighed out. "Yea it was."

02x07
Well, shit.
Dean, take it down a notch.
Y’know I was wondering when technology would catch up to them.
Now may not be the best time to monologue Dean.
That was very strange...
02x08
I’ve heard hell hounds cause all kinds of shit in this series so please let this be werewolves.
Reducing them to things that could hump the crap outta your leg may be what makes them so angry.
Ooooh these people sold their souls. Deaths puppies are collecting. Six minutes in and I’ve solved it.
Lol at the MySpace gag.
Oh holy hell what the fuck is that?!
I’m kinda with Dean on this. They made their beds.
In love with this Deep South voodoo witchcraft. Very New Orleans.
Ah shit. This dude actually doesn’t deserve it.
Oh well played Dean.
02x09
Oh fuck no, not Croatoan. I’m still not over AHS: Roanoke.

No phone signal boys. Run.

Was that dude even supernatural or is Dean getting a little trigger happy?
Well shit.
Quarantine eh. Timely.
What’s with all the slow mo attack shots.
Sammy’s makin a bomb.

Dean’s tired now and it’s only season 2. Damn.
Vanished like Roanoke 😯
Virus vanished too...
This one’s gonna come back to bite them.
Ah shit, it’s one of Megs siblings.
02x10
Great, now there’s something hunting the kids like Sam. Like Yellow Eyes and his spawn weren’t enough.
NO SAM!
I really hope Dean chipped him with a GPS or something.
What the fuck...
Badass Jo gone out on her own. I’m so glad Ellen doesn’t blame them.
Why do I feel like Ellen’s gonna tell Dean anyway.
One of us, one of us, gobble gobble, gobble gobble.
Oh, the psychics, not the lesbians.
I knew she’d call him. Big softies, the pair of them.
As beautiful as she is Baby is not built for stealth.
Oh lovely, Gordon’s back.
Of course funky town is Deans codeword.
Who the hell at the Roadhouse told on Sammy.
Oh thank fuck.
‘It’s Sam.’ Oh well done Sam!

‘Bitch’’Jerk’ YES!

Ah shit, not Ava.
02x11
Oh please not more creepy dolls.
Daphne eh.
There’s only gonna be one little girl isn’t there.

YES. Second gay mix up. Overcompensating.

Dean’s on a roll. Dolls, not that kinda surfing. Poor Sammy.
DRUNK SAMMY! Delayed patented Sam Winchester reaction. Sasquatch.

Yep, only one creepy kid.
Ah Sam you can’t hold him to a promise like that. It’s not fair.
02x12
Ah FFS Dean, not again.
In sync badge work from our FBI boys.
Dude knows what he’s on about.
Maybe not. Cybermen eh. A mandroid.
Sam makes an excellent fed. I love it when he takes charge, gets me all tingly.
‘I like him, he says okie dokie’
Ronald does not like you Sam. You’re too pretty.
Shape shifters are fuckin disgusting.
Yeah it’s definitely the Dean girl in the vault.
He has a very large gun Sam, help Ronald manage.
He knows you know.
No! Not Ronald!
Lovely. The actual FBI.
Ah shit. Shit shit shit.
I do not like the SWAT men. Too trigger happy. Makes me nervous.
Of course my mother picks now, one of the tensest moments to come in with a question. My heart now resides where my tonsils once were.
YES! Fuckin iconic.
*sings* Oh, Mama, I'm in fear for my life from the long arm of the law.
