My Favorite Metal Bands
As the title suggests, I’m going to be talking about my favorite metal bands and WHY I love them and specifically my favorite album/release from them. This isn’t in any particular order, though Death and Type O Negative are my absolute favorite.
Death
My favorite Death Metal band ough I love em this band is my baby. There’s so much variety and so many fucking hooks. He always managed to make each album interesting in their own way. I love all the albums, my favorite has to be Leprosy though.
Type O Negative
This shit here is my jam, literally so many good songs from each album. My favorite is October Rust, personally.
Black Sabbath
I know this might be kind of a sin but I love the Dio-era most. Listen to “Heaven and Hell” and “Dehumanizer”
Candlemass
Literally one of the greatest doom metal bands ever, I love “Epicus Doomicus Metallus” but my personal favorite is “Nightfall”
Bathory
EEEEEEEE oh my god i think this might be my favorite black metal band. My favorite from them is “Under the Sign of the Black Mark”.
Sanctuary
Those first two albums are so fucking good, honestly I recommend both “Refuge Denied” and “Into The Mirror Black”
Venom
Oh my god their first two albums are so fucking good, please give them the song “Buried Alive” a listen off the album “Black Metal”.
Control Denied
This has to be my fav progressive metal band (even if they only lasted one album), I HIGHLY recommend “The Fragile Art of Existence”.
Root
Specifically, Zjevení bc I don’t really care much for their other stuff. Shit is just my jam, this is the kind of Black Metal I fucking love.
That’s all I can remember right now! These are definitely up there in terms of what I think are the greatest metal bands.

AMEBIX TEE SPOTTED IN THE WILDS OF THE NYHC ERA -- UP THE HEAVY/DARK PUNKS!
PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on an AMEBIX illustration included with the "No Sanctuary" 1983 LP titled "Do You Really Want Your Freedom?", later created as a T-shirt design and worn by guitarist Stephen Flam of American death/DOOM metal band WINTER, c. late '80s/early '90s.
STEPHEN FLAM (WINTER guitarist): "When I got influenced by groups like DISCHARGE or AMEBIX, those groups resonated with me lyrically. To me those groups had a little bit more to say, it wasn’t just like watching a horror movie. I’m not into the occult or any of those things and never was so those things were never important to me. That’s why I guess I related to the punk stuff, it was more about what was happening in the streets, what was happening in New York."

if you get this answer with your top 5 music artists and send it to the last 7 people in your notifications <3
Ahh I'm so happy! You're my first question 🥺😭💕
Well I'm also a bit embarrassed, tbh I love music but I'm not usually the kind of person who focus on artists rather just the songs because I'm a writer and music helps me to find styles for my characters, so I tend to listen different styles and artists in a way I became obsessed with finding different songs that speak to me and my characters, that's how I fell in love with country, jazz, blues and bossa-nova... anyway I'll try my best, but I'm choosing based on how much influence they had on my persona, not the frequency I listen to them, or them becoming top 1, because the most important reason to be an artist is not to sell (which yeah it's important duh 🙄 😂) but to touch souls and hearts and they did it with mine so, here we go:
*not necessarily in the following order
1. Taylor Swift
I'm obsessed with her, her style, her lyrics, her easter eggs. Her videos, everything. She's gorgeous and I'm kinda glad I decided to listen to her songs cause they're amazing.
2. Christina Aguilera
Especially obsessed with her Burlesque era, but tbh I just love her voice, and I've loved her since I was 3 or 4 years old so, that's a long time... and she's the one who inspired me to dance and sing.
3. IU
Have you heard her? I love her lyrics and music, also I love the way her roles on several kdramas, she's so sweet and I really like her. Besides, we're from the same month. I'm May 10 and she's May 16, do I need to say more? 😍 She inspires me.
4. Mili (japanese band)
I just started to fall in love with them because of a fanfic, but... they need more fans. Seriously underrated. Great artists. Listen to Bathtub Mermaid.
5. Avril Lavigne
My list wouldn't be complete without her. Like, yes, I have others, Nirvana, Simple Plan, and much more but Avril Lavigne would be the first I felt so identified with in a moment where no one else could have... Thanks to her lyrics I fought and won, and now I'm alive.
Last seven people on my notifications:
Please don't bother to reply if you don't want to lol (some people don't like to be tagged and I don't want to bother the if that's the case, so I apologize in advance but y'all just happened to be there.) But thank you for being on my notifications otherwise I would feel like crying because I have no one to tag. So, thanks to your existence, I'm not crying lol
@succubusxhoney
@trojanforce

Also, thanks for the question @jiabae ☺️💕 you made me really happy.

Oooohhh platonic/sibling Henry and Ashley au where they're in a band? Either both sing, or one sings and one is part of the crew, etc. Wherever you want to go with that!
Their band wasn't well known, but it was certainly popular, popular enough that Ashley, the lead singer of the band formed by two idiotic siblings one ill-advised night in a local bar, had some wiggle room with their gigs.
Which was how Henry ended up behind the microphone that night, instead of only taking care of the speakers and the lighting and everything else that went with the performances, despite his near anxiety attack backstage.
One sibling pep talk and Ashley's grin of encouragement later, their parents sitting and watching with looks of surprised delight at his ascension to the stage, Henry grabbed the microphone, took a deep breath, and started to sing.
___
There's a longer version under the cut because it was not three sentences. 😅
___
"I can't do this." Henry said, feeling sick.
"Yes you can." Ashley said, rolling her eyes as she messed with a guitar.
"Nope. You're the singer, Ash. Not me. I shouldn't have let you bully me into this."
He ran a hand through his hair, stressed as he glanced at her. She wasn't even looking at him.
"You're a great singer, Henry. I've heard you."
"Yeah, singing to myself. Not on stage. In front of people. In front of Mom and Dad."
"It's just doing it in a different location."
"Ash! I'm freaking out here."
Henry's heart was hammering in his chest and his palms were sweaty as he imagined actually going out in front of a bunch of people and singing.
He could do it.
He helped Ashley with the songs they wrote or the covers they did. They were pop-folk band, and Henry liked adapting traditional songs in modern ways.
Which was where their drunken idea for the band had come from, one night not long after Ashley's twenty-first birthday.
Ashley got up and walked over to him, dropping down and wrapping an arm around his shoulders.
"You can do this. I believe in you."
"Ashley..." Henry said weakly. "I'm the tech guy."
She slapped him over the back of the head, like their uncle did, making Henry start and stare at her.
"You are not just the tech guy." she said sternly. "This is our band. You should sing."
"Ashley--"
"My big brother is supposed to be able to do anything." Ashley said, giving him wide big eyes. "You always told me what when we were kids."
He dragged a hand over his face, because he had said that and he was really regretting it.
"Henry. You're great. I wouldn't lie to you. If you don't like it, you never have to do it again. Just one song. For me. Please."
"You know I can't say no to you." he grumbled.
"Yep. And as the baby of the family, it's my right to exploit that."
Henry laughed, feeling the tension in his chest loosen. Maybe Ashley was right. He did like singing. And it was their band. Maybe he should at least try, especially when he knew she had to have plucked some strings to get the deviation from the expected performance.
He rubbed his hands on his pants to try and dry his palms.
"All right. One song."
Ashley let out a triumphant squawk of laughter, clapped him on the shoulder, and hopped up.
The nerves returned as Henry went up the stairs to the stage after Ashley, who took her seat and guitar and gave him an encouraging grin.
Henry turned to face the crowd and spotted their parents seated at one of the small tables the audience populated. Both of them looked surprised, but both smiled at him, looking delighted.
That helped too and Henry walked across the stage, taking the microphone as Ashley played the opening notes to their first song.
