the reason why dhmis tv feels 'less scary' to most people than the webseries is because the stoplight trio are now aware of the pattern and are more or less resigned to it (minus the occasinal breakdown) and the teachers are way less powerful than the OG teachers.

in the original series, the trio only begin to expect a teacher showing up by episode four (in fact, harry deliberately seeks one out - turning to gilbert when they need to know what the biggest thing in the world is, only to be hijacked by colin), and in that same episode, his self-awareness is rewarded by the narrative with forcible removal from the house.

the original series is a theatre of helplessness, control, and punishment. the trio remember everything that's happened to them but are unable to stop it, and get put through agonizing lessons by teachers that warp reality around them and antagonize them when they toe out of line. when they become self-aware, they're immediately punished by the show (harry getting kicked out into the real world, robin getting canned and cannibalized), and the surviving members have to keep going despite it.

in the new series, their memories are spotty but they're resigned to the teachers showing up. they expect them to the point where it's routine. AND their teachers aren't as untouchable as the old ones, and the trio can toe out of line. the briefcase leaves halfway through the lesson, the coffin gets absolutely blasted to pieces by a shovel, the family gets eaten by roy, warren gets the living shit roasted out of him before getting speared, the train dies midway through before his corpse gets used as a car, and the meter gets her batteries stolen. the trio still are helpless regarding their situation with the house and the loop, but they're nowhere near as under the mercy of the teachers as they used to be.

Thanks to PJOTV for temporarily convincing me that Percy was not going to send Medusa's head to Olympus- genuinely one of the scenes I was most looking forward to in the show- and then delivering it PERFECTLY. Him comparing Medusa's head to a battery? Annabeth and Grover trying to talk him out of it? THE SONG from earlier? Delightful. The details are different from the books, but everyone is still so in character that I absolutely love it.

"Yeah–" Luka's little laugh was stilted, the words' Adrien told me about that' caught in his throat momentarily. "I'm starting to see that's a thing with you," he said, shaking the pause off by pretending his bag's zipper had gotten stuck and needed some convincing to open. 

Luka pulled out two dented soup cans from the bag, flipping them in the air before catching them again. He wiggled them in front of Félix's face, the liquid sloshing cheerfully inside. "So. Your pick. Beef stew or chicken noodle." 

Félix tilted his head with birdlike exactness, and for a second, Luka thought he'd unwittingly offended a vegan, but instead, Félix laughed a dry chuckle of his own. "You know who I am." 

"Was the soup question a giveaway somehow?" Luka asked, frowning at the labels. 

"If you'd have chucked one at my head, perhaps."

Hey guys, I've been wanting to make videos about my Doll Customization process for years (think the kind of stuff you see from Dollightful, Enchanterium, etc, but with a bit more storytelling), but I've always fumbled on where to start. So today, I'm putting up a poll for you guys to choose who comes first!

Twisted Alice - She's a remake of my first doll custom, so I foresee this video being about how I got into the hobby and my love of this character.

Kat Alyst - This is my persona doll, a fun loving storyteller fairy. This video would likely be an introduction to me and who I am as an artist.

Auran Dulce - This doll is my nutcracker ballerino. He's an original character that's really important to me, and this video would likely focus on telling his story.

Sass the Snake Kwami - This doll is a gjinka I did of Sass from Miraculous Ladybug, and a part of a collab. He's also the first doll I ever made using Mr. Super Clear as my sealant. He was originally planned to be my first doll video, but I never went through with it. His video would likely be a retrospective in how my process has changed.
