#reblogging this again because. yeah#fuck jkr#also this reminds me of how differently Harry/the narrative treats Luna compared to Ginny#like. Luna is quite an active participant in the plot of the last book#she’s in the manor dungeons with them. we find out more about her home life. and she goes with harry to ravenclaw tower.#like at no point is Harry like ‘you have to stay here Luna because you’re a year younger than me and it’s too dangerous’#I mean. same thing happened to cho. rip. she was a cool popular quidditch player. and she went through a lot.#and she joined the DA!#but she’s just portrayed as being a weepy clingy jealous loser girl as soon as she’s Harry’s love interest#anyway.#I could go on tags from @the-forbidden-forest

and yeah once women are Love Interests in the HP verse they...really lose their independent relevance to the plot. I actually think Lily isn't the worst example of this, she's actually more independent than a lot of the others, but with Fleur and Tonks and Cho it's really really striking. Luna and Hermione are pretty much the only examples of prominent female characters who are treated as independent characters outside of having a love interest or in an either maternal or villain role (like McGonagall or Rita and Umbridge...both presumably unmarried women in powerful positions who are villains. McGonagall is in a traditionally feminine profession and very much a subordinate to Dumbledore, by contrast). And Luna is Harry's weird pet and not really someone with potential for romance with anybody, and Hermione is One Of The Boys (they literally don't see her as a girl! bc she's....not like the other girls) Like Fleur and Tonks are both introduced as independent characters but are then given these...pretty inorganic romances in order to keep them within the story. and Cho leaves the story as the sad weepy loser--harry's being insensitive, yeah, but she could have reappeared later on to show she's more than his perception of her. Hell, the same thing happens to Lavender! What was she doing in DH? We know about her getting savageed by Greyback (then being saved by her romantic rival Hermione) and that she was using the RoR bathroom to like prettify herself but nothing else about her role in the DH DA. Once a woman is a Love Interest she can't do anything that's not about her man. Hermione is the singular exception...and she only gets together with Ron

thinking again about how Ginny is both central and peripheral to the war effort' in both the context of the war as an interpersonal mystical conflict between Harry and Voldemort and the context of the war as a war. like she is harry's girlfriend but when Harry goes off on his hero's journey his quest he leaves her behind (despite the fact that she might have had important insights as the person who knows best what it's like to be possessed by voldemort's horcrux....but she must remain a peripheral character) she is this person who's had a formative relationship with Voldemort but is utterly peripheral to him he has no idea who she is she has this deep intimacy with both of them but Voldemort doesn't know it and Harry doesn't take it seriously. she would probably have the most Thoughts of any person living about the mystical Harry/Voldemort conflict have really intense and complex feelings and connections and understandings but she cannot take part in it she has to watch and not know what's happening. even though the story of the horcruxes is so central to what made her her....(harry my boy you BETTER have told her about the horcruxes post war. you better damn well.)

and then ofc she literally lives in the official order headquarters in OOTP and then the burrow her familial home becomes a de facto order headquarters and a center for war planning (especially as Harry is central to the war effort' and also a peripheral member of the weasley family unit) but she isn't allowed any information at all. she fights in a battle that changes the course of the war bc Voldemort publicly reveals himself at it and then it's just like..it makes her cool at school I guess? it doesn't transform her role in the conflict. she is sent back to Hogwarts in DH as though she's an ordinary student. and then she becomes a leader of the resistance in Hogwarts, a center of the war in hogwarts but peripheral to the outside conflict....

These girls on youtube did a FMK video including all the boys eventhough they said "Camboy edition" and Reggie along with their friends Savagee and Danny reacted to it and werent happy lol.

The first round consisted of Andy Webb,Daniel Seavey and Colby and Danny and Reggie both said "WTF two of them arent Camboys wtf is this!". They picked to Kill Andy,Marry Colby, and Fuck Daniel Seavey..towards the middle they shaded Reggie and Jake, said they didnt like them, and Danny was not an option as an 18yr old. Plus Reggie said they were rude 'cause they didnt know Aryias last name. I mean it was cringey and im sure they werent actually pissed but who knows. Thought I'd share.

To raid means to send all your viewers to them instead of just logging off. Usually they raid one of the other boys or they'll raid someone with a small number of viewers. Lastnight though they were all logging off and while JC was trying to see who to raid he saw T-Pain was on. He had a interview style set-up. While he contemplated Reggie just went for it.. JC then found a DJ with a few viewers who showed peoples emotes on her screen (JC and Savagee raided) when people put them in the chat and because of that JC and all the boys viewers added all the boys emotes to her chat to the point that it froze for 30min. I logged out and randomly logged back in at 3am and Reggies emotes were still being added to her chat by his followers.

So, you just tell you viewers to go somewhere and they...do? That's cool of them, I guess...weird that the viewers go along with it. My ass would sign out the second my person who I cared about was done for the night 🤣🤣
