Banished from their former clan, two sisters, Spurucewater and Hazelslip, stumble upon an island with three clans. One mysterious night, Sprucewater encounters a soul, wandering for longer than she’s lived. As they unfold the secrets of the island, Scorchstripe and Snailpaw of CreekClan investigate the disappearance of a fellow clan member. The four cats learn that they hold the fate of their clans- in the real world and in between.

Heron's Crossing is a warrior-cats-inspired webcomic made by @wolfix-does-stuff and @foxxf1nch! We hope you enjoy our silly cat comic :3

Moon 5, part 2

Wisteriapaw had the scent of something near where Caveclan . It was like inhaling some sparkling water. She quietly kept on the trail and found something... It glittered like sunlight on the waters. It produced heat like a warm summer's day despite the chilly autumn wind. It was built like a deer, but it was too tall. It was too wide. It was completely black and white. It didn't belong in this world. It was charging right at Wisteriapaw. "Shit," She cursed before sprinting in the other direction. The thing reached over her, its maw opening and its head leaning down. It's jaws closed around her.

To this day Wisteriapaw swears that some higher power was watching at that moment. Teeth just went through her and all the beast got was a mouthful of flowers. Her paws touched the grass but her pads couldn't feel the blades. The wind blew through her instead of around her. She ran until the beast tripped and fell over its own legs trying to run in the rocky, mountainous enviroment. When Wisteriapaw returned to camp in the morning, she laid in her nest and slept till noon.

-Wisteriapaw encountered... Something... Wisteriapaw has shock.

Shrubstalk asked Scorchstripe to bring along Reedwade along to gather herbs. Wisteriapaw hasn't been responsive lately, and Reedwade is worried. Scorchstripe has been noticeably down after Cloverstar's death. Of course, Shrubstalk would see them returning with freesias and several jokes.

-Reedwade and Scorchstripe comfort each other on patrol

The herbs were gingerly packaged and sent with Shrubstalk. Scorchstripe felt odd about his herbs still supplying the clan he was exiled from but he still cares deeply about Caveclan, even if he dislikes Kesterelstar. Reedwade and Wisteriapaw are also staying behind. Scorchstripe didn't think Robin would stay behind until she nervously came into the herb storage. "Why is everyone going to negotiate with the other clans?" The question made him chuckle a bit, "Negotiate is a bit too formal. Gatherings are held every season as a way for family to catch up." "Why don't they catch up while hunting or just visit each other?" "Not all clans border each other, plus it's an easy way to trade herbs and prey we need." Robin blinked a bit, "Huh," and nodded, "That does make sense. Does that mean you get exotic herbs?" Scorchstripe eagerly grinned before telling Robin all about aquatic plants that cannot be found in the mountains.

-Robin has a friendly chat with Scorchstripe that leaves them both feeling happy.

Cloverstar is caught with a kittypet

Drykit bickers with Basilkit, he realizes that Boragekit's life isn't easy

Reedwade is chased up a tree by a dog

Scorchstripe and Gambler roll around a bit too playfully

Midnightdusk fights a rogue but has to be rushed to Scorchstripe after. Has a nightmare about dying

Scarabkit wakes up crying and has to be comforted by Robin until morning

Raccoonpaw catches a strange scent and loses it to the river

Moon 5, part 1

TW: bugs

Midnightdusk's scowl scrunched up at the news of a permanent scar. It was large and visible and the fur was sparsely growing back. It was on her back too, meaning she couldn't get to it all that well. At least now she could move around without worry of opening the wound.

-Midnightdusk's claw wound healed into a scar

Cloverstar happily watched her kits. Boragekit and Basilkit have started climbing the side of the nursery pit. Once a kit climbs out of the pit, then they are made an apprentice, usually. Cloverstar has been waiting for Boragekit to climb out after her brother. Basilkit happily pranced around, bragging that he's going to be made an apprentice. Oh yeah, he's going to Midnightdusk, Cloverstar thought before something bumped her leg, "Oh dear! Boragekit you got up and I didn't even see you!" "You didn't see me do it yesterday either." Oh dear, her kits will be the end of her.

-Basilpaw and Boragepaw are apprenticed to Midnightdusk and Gambler.

Scorchstripe just wanted to walk aimlessly. Cloverstar just wanted to talk about Basilpaw and Boragepaw's new apprenticeship. The dog that attacked them just wanted a meal. Cloverstar's limp body hung from the frosty jaws of the cold canine. Scorchstripe felt his face tingle as his fur was unraveled like a ball of yarn. Flames danced on his skin before it seared the dog's fur. It dropped Cloverstar before running away to put itself out. Scorchstripe waited for a few seconds before clovers tentatively grew to shield and protect Cloverstar as she revived. Stars. Oh, my stars. Scorchstripe felt sick.

-Cloverstar lost a life to a dog

Cornkit was never the sanest dreamer. Most of his dreams were nightmares of everything bad that could happen. So Scarabkit decided to be his dream guardian! First she was just a beetle in his dreams but how she interacted with Cornkit in his dreams, the more she changed. One night she decided to fight a nightmare and kill it. Cornkit looked up at her in fear, Scarabkit now being a massive junebug. "Stop it! Please stop!" Cornkit yelled. Scarabkit's sad response echoed through the whispy mountains, "I just wanted to help you..." "I don't like this!" Scarabkit just nodded and quietly left, letting Cornkit fill the dreamspace where she once was. A few heartbeats later and only Scarabkit is awake. I can at least always be there for him.

-Cornkit has a nightmare. Scarabkit promises to always be there for Cornkit

Trying out a new format

Moon 4

Midnightdusk honed her ears, eavesdropping on Scorchstripe. It was easier to eavesdrop on him than Shrubstalk because she was so quiet. Since Boragekit and Cloverstar were cleared to return back to their daily lives, Midnightdusk has been lonely. Scorchstripe's voice was calm and easy to understand, "Whitecough isn't a death sentence. Huskkit can recover however I am a bit worried about his constant sicklyness. The rest of the litter recovered from being ill as newborns but Huskkit..." "Hasn't gotten better," Robin's cold voice cut through the warmth of Scorch's rambling, "He's been constantly ill... Do you think it's..." "Not deadly but I fear that he will always be a sickly cat, even in adulthood," Scorchstripe's voice held an anxiety that Midnightdusk heard while he was talking about her claw wound, "This may be insensitive but do you know of any family history that may... entail some magical properties?" The den was quiet with consideration until Robin said, "Cats in The City do not know who their fathers are and mothers often leave their young once they are old enough to fend for themselves. While I do know of my litter's father I do not know of his family, or my own family. All I know is that I don't have magic like yours." "Alright, if magic is a component then I fear we may have doomed Huskkit..." Midnightdusk swiveled her ears behind her and laid her head down, feeling bad for violating kitty cat HIPPAA

-Huskkit has whitecough. Cloverstar and Boragekit recovered from heat exhaustion.

Robin needed to get out of camp, and Shrubstalk needed catnip, or catmint as clan cats call it. Gambler calls it cataire, but he's from a whole other island. Robin slowly crept through the underbrush of the mountain valley where it typically grows. There was a sound, not a rustling but a twinkling, where the underbrush opens up so male birds can set their stages when it's spring and not autumn. Peering up, Robin could easily make out the outline of a flame point with red cheeks, the same one she saw when Cliffclan found her. He faintly shimmered blue before he gasped and started to vanish, practically melting into the sky. "Wait don't leave!" But it was futile.

-Catmint gathered. Ghost met.

It has been a while since Dartstrike saw his sister leave the healers' den but now Midnightdusk was sat by the entrance of the herb storage. In other clans there would be a crowd below the leader however there wasn't a ledge or anything tall and climbable in camp for Cloverstar to perch on, something about making the camp kit friendly. Dart sat next to Midnight before the ceremony started, "So who do you think will mentor Drykit?" "I was hoping I would mentor him." "Don't you have an infected wound?" He harshly whispered. Midnight flicked her tail in an annoyed way, "Not infected anymore. I just need to make sure it doesn't scar. Oh, is that the meeting starting?" How convenient, Dartstrike thought.

-Midnightdusk's wound is no longer infected.

Is there enough prey for the feast, check. Enough catmint for the older cats, check. Cats are getting in a circle, check. "Clan meeting!" Cloverstar called out, "Drykit, you are able to leave camp and become an apprentice. Until you are made a warrior you will be called Drypaw." Cloverstar did a quick scan before settling on Raccoonmoss. He has been down for a while plus he could decline if he didn't want to mentor. "Raccoonmoss, you were trained well by Dartstrike and even before you trained out in the Old Desert. Do you wish to mentor Drypaw?" Raccon let out affirmative squeaking. "Then you are Drypaw's mentor! Let's celebrate!" Cloverstar happily purred at Raccoon's agreement. She remembered the apprenticeship parties that Desertclan use to throw, and how they were absent in Darkclan.

-Drypaw has been apprenticed to Raccoonmoss. Cliffclan has a feast!

Wisteriapaw knew she was a disappointment. Her flowers withering as soon as the water in the air around them dries up, near instantaneously. Reedwade gave a comforting purr, "It's ok. Try connecting your flowers to-" "To what? My face? My fur? I do that all the time!" " Wisteria..." "What 'Wade," Wisteriapaw snapped. "Paw," Reedwade said curtly, it made Wisteriapaw feel a pit in her stomach, "We are done training for today." Wisteriapaw watched Reedwade pad off to camp however she stayed behind. Wisteriapaw would stop being a disappointment.

-Wisteriapaw and Reedwade had an argument. Wisteriapaw disappeared for a few days
