(aka second selection, man this is going to be the death of me)

he has emo arm warmers that canon btw. he has socks, you can actually see them this time and the stupid little choker. second selection's a lot more straightforwards than base noah.

and then he has the stupid jumpsuit, you can't actually see the arms and there's no alt official art for me to stare at so I just assumed they were similar to the legs. the seams run up the whole body and kog actually drew a zipper front properly no way.

layer 3's the jacket but it's a little complicated so i've split it into 3 sublayers, just know they're all attached. it's not a cape like base noah, it's got actual sleeves and the sleeves have slits and I hate them.

3-2, the collar is really similar to base noah but instead of being like a looped around double layered thing it's just one. same color, same detail so it's probably knit. (please ignore the weird gap i didn't want to have to draw the jumpsuit in multiple parts)

the third piece goes over the collar on the inside, it's really similar to those awkward collar thingies on suits jackets. but like, hotter.

and then the belt, which thank god has actual loops it can attach to on the jumpsuit and it's not just floating, and the shoes' impracticality make slightly more sense this time around but they've got this odd strap that goes around the whole thing, including the sole, and it reminds me of the like, seaweed belts on nigiri? i dunno just a thought

and Him, in full, again no little details with the clasps and pendants and whatnot because they make me want to cry

The Second Selection of Blue Lock has been always my personal favorite.

This arc has revealed another dimension to other characters like Naruhaya, Barou, Nagi, Reo, Isagi, Bachira, Rin etc.

But seeing the Second Selection in Episode Nagi has sealed the deal for me that it would be always a top tier arc for me in the franchise. Like we were shown other side characters' interesting personalities and background stories such as with Kiyora, Himizu, Karasu then Otoya. Not to mention we were shown and given of how cool and a badass player Chigiri could be.

Additionally, Reo and Nagi has an interesting character development in this manga. God, fucking dammit. They should've released this as a separate series instead of a fucking movie. The important parts were definitely cut off on that film and the other half were spent reminiscing on the scenes which already happened in season 1. If I wanted a recap of season 1, I would've watch it on Netflix as a replay.

Anyways, I'm hype yet starved for the new chapter of Episode Nagi.

second selection is so funny because the initial teams are bachisagi + nagi and kunigiri + reo. me and you and our friend steve. and the second team is infinitely funnier because you expect there to be drama between the couple but no the screentime is mostly taken up by reo being the worst breakup victim of all time

IT'S NOT A COINCIDENCE THAT JUNG-BAE IS IN THE GAMES. At first that was my one reservation about Season 2's setup, because, come on, you really expect me to believe that out of all the people in Korea, three guys from the same little village are getting selected? And Gi-hun's friends get selected both times he plays, despite it being years later? It seemed a little contrived.

But then the director stated that in his view, the recruiters had actually first selected Sang-woo, because he had a lot of debt. They then looked at his friends, and selected Gi-hun--not primarily because of his debt, although that was necessary, but because of his close connection to Sang-woo. They deliberately sought to pit people with close, existing relationships up against each other.

Knowing that the entirety of the games in this season are centered around and designed for Gi-hun (even down to the recruitment phone number being 456-010), it makes perfect sense that this is the year Jung-bae gets recruited.

Because Gi-hun would have to watch him die.

I've gotten a ton of asks about this, so I'll answer all of them here (can only tag @imamwolf, sorry anons).

I will be making more worldbuilding comics, especially on the topic of magic and Canterlot. Here's the short of it, though.

Anyone could become a witch or magician (not just unicorn characters), but it takes intense studying, as it's a practice not natural or innate to humans. Some humans are more naturally attuned and gifted to using magic while others find it next to impossible. For example, Trixie desperately wants to be a real magician but for whatever reason can't.

However, there are two types of magic: the studied "standard magic" (spells and hexes and whatnot) and the unorthodox "chaos magic," which are random, uncontrollable outbursts of magic only a few are capable of emitting. Most people with chaos magic don't even realize when they're "using" it. Pinkie and Trixie are unwitting users of chaos magic, which operates on the "only when it's funny" rule. It explains Pinkie Sense and their slapstick moments of surviving falling pianos. Discord is the only one who can control chaos magic.

Anyone can become a witch in practice, but recognition by Canterlot's court must be earned by incredible, selfless feats of magic. Canterlot as a whole is a complete mystery, having been debated on by scholars, scientists, monks, writers, and psychologists throughout human history. From what we know, it's a parallel world that exists on same same planet as Earth. That's why both are affected by the same sun and moon. To cross into Canterlot, one must not only be invited but know the location of specific gateways strung out across Earth. The closest gate to Ponyville is in a wheat field in Kansas.
