Puri - 1
|| Om Namo Narayanaya ||
Let us begin our blog on the wonderful secrets of temples with a few posts on the renowned temple of Sri Jagannath at Puri, Odisha. Also known as Purushottama Kshetra, this temple is a must visit for all devotees of Lord Krishna as well as architecture lovers. In this series we would cover facts about 1. Architectural features 2. Lesser-known secrets of the temple 3. Puranic history 4. The popular Mahaprasadam
Tumblr media
Firstly, let us see some of the salient architectural features of this gigantic temple. Puri Jagannath temple is built in the Kalinga style. The present temple dates back to the 12th century. There is a huge Vimāna (Gopuram) over the main sanctum, about 65 m high. Atop the Vimāna stands a majestic Chakra, known as Nīlachakra. The Nīlachakra is 3.5 m tall, with 8 spokes on its outer surface facing upwards. It is made of an alloy of 8 metals.
Tumblr media
The temple is fortified by 2 enclosures, known as prākāras which have more than 50 major and minor shrines in them. The walls are filled with magnificent stone carvings and geometrical patterns. There are 4 entrances to the temple, named after the life-size sculptures of animals that guard them. 1. East - Singha (Lion) Dwar 2. South - Ashwa (Horse) Dwar 3. West - Vyaghra (Tiger) Dwar 4. North - Hasti (Elephant) Dwar
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The most crowded of all the entrances is the Singha Dwar. There is a tall pillar in front of it where people light lamps and pray. It is the Aruna Stambha, named after the charioteer of Surya Narayana. It was carved from a single chlorite stone and is 33.5 feet tall. It was brought from Konark along with the deity of Surya Narayana during the 18th century. The deity is placed in one of the shrines of the temple. (More information about Konark would come soon)
Tumblr media
As soon as we enter the Lion Gate, to the left, there is a small deity of Hanuman named 'Fateh Hanuman'. Fateh means Siddhi, or ability, and Hanuman is named so because he gives us permission and ability to have the most divine Darshan of Jagannath. Towards the right is a deity of Sugriva along with a fierce Narasimha Swami. He is interestingly known as "Narasimha Swami who has 22 hands but is present in a space smaller than a hand"
Tumblr media
However, the most striking feature is the huge deity of Jagannath. Is he the main deity? If not, then what is the story behind his presence in the eastern gate? We shall get to know all these in the next post. Until then,
|| Jai Jagannath ||
(New posts would be uploaded to this blog on every Ekadasi at 5 pm)

Okay so this may not make sense unless you seen BNA, But How would Guilds of your choice react to the fact that MC is a beastmen, but can switch between their beast form and human form(Going off on that they thought MC was fully human), and maybe a little on Shino would react 😖(cause well..you know when it comes to his past love and the whole-thing) Sorry if this seems like a lot and if you don't want to do it, you can just delete this. Have a good day or night.
Yessss I just started watching it actually and it’s SO GOOD!!! I do hope that these hcs are what you were looking for! Also I’m doing this under the assumption that MC knew they were a Beastman! Enjoy hun~
----
Summoners
With how close you and the Summoners are on a daily basis this was bound to come out eventually, so when they all learn that you’re not entirely human like they had all first assumed needless to say there’s a whole lot of questions. Shiro at first goes off on a tangent, speculating that your sudden shifting ability could maybe be some undiscovered ability of your sacred artifact since all the other transients you guys have met with similar abilities have all been because of their sacred artifact. He lays off when you assure him that you’re pretty sure you were a beastman long before you came to Tokyo but that just brings about a whole bunch of other questions about beastmen types and abilities. He’s honestly so intrigued that for a moment some of his questions probably push the boundaries of what he’s usually like so just be sure to give him a lil nudge to think before he asks.
Kengo doesn’t really see what the big deal is - to him it’s just one more cool thing about you! However even he thinks it’s pretty neat that you can switch between two different forms at will. He’ll ask the obvious questions about the differences between your human and beastman form - does it make you stronger? Give you special powers? Make you look more intimidating? Though he has to remind himself that you can change forms whenever you want because you’ve shocked him more than once when he turns away for a moment and then turns back to find you’ve changed in that momentary time span.
Ryota can’t stop himself from fawning over your new appearance, asking you why you never told them about this before because you look so cute! If you’re okay with it he really wants to feel the new changes that come with your beastman form; he’ll compare his hand to yours and cuddle up to you as he admires your new appearance, the whole time asking if everything’s okay at different intervals. Plus if you have fur fully expect him to give you plenty of fuss because it’s just so soft!
Hanuman is super psyched when he finds out! He’s constantly asking you to switch back and forth to see how quickly you can shift and if you humor him with it he’ll be grinning like a dork the whole time because it is so entertaining. Agyo swiftly jumps in eventually to scold Hanuman into letting up and giving you a break, even as you laugh it off and say that it’s fine. Agyo doesn’t have nearly as much of a reaction as you thought he would, but if you’re some kind of beastman though he makes an offhand comment to himself that you look like you’d make a pretty good guardian dog partner now!
Moritaka, similar to the others, is taken aback when you first tell the Summoners, but doesn’t truly believe it until he sees you shift back and forth with his own eyes - somehow seeing it happen right in front of him suddenly makes you beastman abilities more real than just simple words. He’s equally entertained watching Ryota fawning over your new appearance and Hanuman egging you on with the switching, but acts as a voice of reason if they get a bit too much. To him it’s almost like you’re just like any other therian when in your beastman form, but he goes out of his way to remind his rambunctious friends that even while not being entirely human like they all first though you’re still you. A part of him also ponders how Yatsufusa would react upon learning that the one who holds the soul of his beloved is a beastman, but that’s a question to wonder for another time.
At this point there’s been enough surprises and sudden revelations about you that Toji thinks he’s seen them all. But then you switch from your human form to your beastman form and suddenly he’s right back to being absolutely mystified about just how many surprises you’ve got up your sleeve. Most of the questions he’s asking are about how many people know and if the teachers have been notified and things along those lines but you can tell that he’s looking over your new form pretty damn intensely. You jokingly ask him if he wants to join Ryota in the impromptu petting, and though he refuses the fact he keeps looking back at you from the corner of his eye is obvious he’s considering it. If you’ve only told the Summoners about being a beastman then Toji makes a comment about how this could be useful if you ever need to go into hiding - just about every big player in Tokyo has their eye on you so being able to shift into another species than what they all know you as could play into your favor if you need it.
Berserkers
It doesn’t occur to you that you probably should have given the Berserkers guild a bit of a heads up about being a beastman until you walked right into the Colosseum in your beastman form. You don’t even make it past the door before Garmr all but barrels you over, the joy of seeing you back melting away to alarm and confusion seeing that you aren’t in your human form. The poor therian is conflicted because you definitely smell like you, but you don’t look like you, and he spends so long sniffing and running circles around you trying to determine whether this is some kind of trick to make him think you’re his master that his head is spinning by the time that Bathym peeks his head out to see what the commotion is, dragging an unwilling Andvari out with him.
Neither of them buy your assurances that it’s really you at first, because obviously you were a full human, right? But then you turn back into your human form and all of a sudden you’re being swarmed by all three at once. Garmr is absolutely ecstatic knowing that it’s definitely you and won’t let go of your arm, Bathym is trying to pry for all kinds of details wanting to get a good ol look at all the changes your beastman form causes, and Andvari is already rattling off the possible marketing schemes this new development could bring in like it’s some kind of neat parlor trick - honestly not the reaction you were expecting.
By the time you actually manage to worm your way inside the commotion has brought some of the other fighters out from the locker rooms, and any hope of keeping that little secret to yourself goes out of the window because of course Bathym’s gonna spill the gossip to them. Ikutoshi’s nonchalant about it really and just assumes that it must be some kind of thing to do with your sacred artifact similar to his own, but he does have a couple questions of his own when he sees you shift into your beastman form.
Nomad nearly has a damn heart attack when he sees you in your beast form, and almost fools himself into thinking that someone must have done something to you to cause the transformation. Do the guy a favor and let him know that you’re a beastman before he convinces himself that he’s got to add someone else to his revenge list; Once you do explain to him Nomad calms down significantly and mostly just makes a comment about how he gets why you didn’t go out of you way to tell the other berserkers since most would probably wanna put your skills to the test in a fight the moment they found out.
SPEAKING OF FIGHTING. Macan takes the whole beastman thing in stride, but he gets super excited if you’re some kind of lion/tiger/cat beastman because. If anything he’s insistent about taking you on in the ring in your beastman form, which when coming from Macan is probably an offer you’re going to want to turn down unless today’s the day you’ve decided who’s gonna eat who. It doesn’t help that Claude is also eager to see your beastman prowess in combat, having been notified by Snow of your presence and the situation during your encounter with Garmr. He desires to see what you’re capable of in this new form especially if you’re one of the bigger kinds of beastmen, and if you agree you’ll probably end up earning yourself a couple more brownie points in his favor, but if you’re firm he’ll relent and leave the matter be for now.
Genociders
You bring the fact that you’re a beastman up to the Genociders so casually, but honestly out of all of the guild’s their response is arguably the calmest. I mean Arc already had some suspicion that there was something about you that wasn’t entirely human, so when you first confide in them that you’re in fact a beastman it only confirms their suspicions. If you’re worried about their reactions about keeping it from them you really don’t need to be because they take it all in stride.
It takes a little bit of helpful coaxing from the guild master before they’re able to convince you to show off your beastman form around them, and they remind you constantly that no matter what form you take you’re still the same person in their eyes. Arc spends some time talking to you about different kinds of beastmen as well as if you only have the one form (depending on if you retain this information since coming to Tokyo is another matter entirely but Arc still appreciates that you go out of your way to answer their questions in a bid to get to know you better.
Of course it doesn’t take long for Azathoth to butt in too to get a good look at you, giggling to himself as he asks all about how you ‘unlocked a new skin’ and when you were gonna tell them you unlocked that achievement. Though from the way that he grins and laughs to himself the whole time, you have a feeling that he knew long before anybody else thanks to the previous loops. It still doesn’t stop him from trying to poke and prod at your beastman form, having plenty of fun messing around with your new fur, feathers or scales depending on the kind of beastman you are.
Of course to Babalon and Surtr you will still be their darling child. Upon seeing your beastman form Babalon is quick to dote on you, cupping your face in her hands before smoothing a comforting hand along your ears and cheeks. The way she coos over you is just as motherly as before, but you can tell that she finds amusement in the way you relax into her touch when she finds the spots that ease the tension right off of your shoulders. This is only further amplified when Surtr brings a hand to rub fondly atop of your head, going off on some long winded speech about how you should never be afraid - that you’ll always be his beloved child regardless of if you have feathers/fur/scales etc. Honestly you’re pretty sure that he gets off topic about the whole thing but at least you know that he’s being genuinely kind about it.
Bonus! Shino
Shino is absolutely stunned by the revelation that you’re a beastman. To know that you, the one who carries the soul of his beloved can take on the form of a beastman within these Tokyo walls leaves him feeling conflicted. There is some naive part of him that thinks this could be some twisted fate, that his inability to be with you in your past life no longer barred by his status as a beast, that the version of you here and now is no longer held back by the concerns of the past world. This is also conflicted by his torn feelings about the whole thing however, where he feels as though he still doesn’t deserve his relationship with you regardless of whether you’re a human or beastman. While he doesn’t really make any movements when you change his eyes are trained upon your beastman form, intently watching the way you shift between forms. So intently that it’s easy to feel a little intimidated under his gaze, but he snaps out of his stupor upon hearing your voice calling out to him, bringing him back to the present moment.

Oxford bimari’ made this love story
When this ‘Oxford bimari’ hit the people, nobody could understand it like ‘China bimari.’ Nobody was bothered. It took everybody to the seventh cloud. I also joined lakhs of other people, running to Mumbai, Delhi and other big cities to fulfil their dreams. Suddenly men-women in my slum cluster started running away from Delhi and walking back to their lost ‘gaon’.
Perhaps all were scared of an unknown fear. ‘Gaon’? Nothing is left there. I have sold my land and mud house. Now, who will give me shelter and food there? It will be again another Delhi drama. No ration, no food, no salary. All 'lafda'. I hadn’t got my 'pagar' yet. The director of the firm was saying that he would be delaying the salary because of some ‘panga’ by the government. Hence I have to stay back and face China Corona.
But my parents were very worried about me. They called me. My mother was crying, and saying that my two younger sisters were wailing because they thought their brother will be killed by China ‘bimari’ in Delhi. But…I didn’t want to leave Shabana alone and go back to Bengal. Who would take care of my love if I leave her alone? She was a decent woman…and we have a special feeling for each other.
Shabana worked in the same office as I did as out-source employees and our company was the same. We disliked our director. He was worse than our village ‘thekedar’ and ‘zamindar’ who used to supply us for the ‘kohlu’ of the ‘zamindar,’ this out-sourcing was an Oxford ‘bimari’ exported to India by the great economist Dr.Man Mohan Singh. This was worst than ‘thekedari pretha.’
When Usman drove in his white Audy car, to the office all of us who had been abused, slapped, kicked and punched by the brute director of the out-sourcing company, wanted to beat him, once and for all but…ironically, it was his oppression, that had made our relationship firm...Shabana and me.
An incident made Shabana mine. She shared a personal secret about her monthly periods and taken a few minutes off to rest on the side of the veranda. I saw Usman, walk up to her and to my surprise touched her forehead very softly. When she did not react, he held her by her hand and lifted her face. Shabana, come to my room and take rest. What were you doing in the night that you are so sick at work? He almost pulled her inside his air-conditioned room.
I felt very bad about this behaviour of Shababa going with Usman in his room. I was a very hot-headed man in my village. On the minor argument, I used to get into fights with elders and boys much elder to me. By the time, I was a young boy; I was like a bullfighter. My neck, shoulders, arms and legs were like ‘pehlwans,’ People avoided me and became wary of me.
I could not stop myself when I listened to the pleadings of Shabana, ‘chod do, chod do, mai mahine se hu.’ I rushed inside the room like a mad bull towards Usman…I wanted to kill Usman inside the room but Shabana stopped me. Usman’s face had turned pale as my first blow hit his face. ‘Leave my Shabnam alone..or I will kill you.’ He started trembling and yelled his private guards. Luckily, one of the guards was from my village and lived one street away from my house. He recognized me and stopped other guards and pacified Usma.
Slowly, I walked away…outside the office building. Shabana struggled to walk and followed me sadly. Head down, she walked fast, till she caught me. “Why did you beat Usman for me?” she asked. For the first time, she spoke to me, standing in front of a temple. Shabana gave her hand to me as God a witness. We have been living together in the ‘jhuggi’ of my friend to safeguard ourselves from ant further harassment by Usman and his men. She decided to accompany me to my villagers, when I had decided to walk back home to escape China ‘bimari.’
Our ‘jhuggi’ colony was sealed off and everyone was scary as if death will enter in each ‘jhuggi.’ Our office was closed. Our money finished and no other work to earn. The police were not allowing us to come out of the ‘jhuggis.’ Even for the toilet, we had to take the permission of the police and pay Rs. 2/= per visit. Very pitiable condition. Death was imminent. If we stayed there, the corona will kill us and if we walk back home we will die of hunger, heat and exhaustion.
There was no place even in hospitals and graveyards. Not even for rich and big people. But for poor people like us, whether we die here, or on the road, or in the hospital, or of hunger, makes no difference. This is ‘meri Dilli’ a heartless city.
If I die here, there will be no claimant, neither for my body nor for any compensation. Some corrupt Dilli government ‘babu’ will swindle and claim the compensation. Shabana can’t get any of the two if she claims that he was my man because she doesn’t have the proper papers to claim the body or the compensation. So, better die in your village.
Shabana was ready to accompany me. Now, she can’t live without me. She always looks into my eyes. She was a young divorcee. I had seen so many others seeing her with voluptuous looks, even the rich in big cars. Her drug-addicted husband pronounced ‘talaq.’ For keeping her again he asked Shabana to perform ‘halala’ with his father, for which Shabana refused. So, she was pushed out of her husband’s house. Now, I will take her to my village and marry her.
I went out of my ‘jhuggi’ the last time in search of some food. The priest of Hanuman temple gave me a big ‘thali’ of delicious food. Shabana will be happy to eat this delicious food. We shared the ‘thali.’
Next morning we started to walk for our village hungry, bare food, no money, with a shattered dream. In all we were thirty people, some were with their little kids. We reached Ghaziabad. Suddenly, we heard a siren of a police car. Our blood froze. He took us all to the police station. Like an angel, he arranged food for us and gave milk for the children. He arranged a UP of the UP roadways.
In the bus, I read a newspaper. A fire in our ‘jhuggi’ cluster burnt all the ‘jhuggis’ that killed five people and injured many more. The list of the dead mentioned me and Shabana. The generous Chief Minister announced and distributed the compensation of rupees five lakhs each. The list of beneficiary included the kins of me and Shabana.
Neither of the two, the devastation or the corruption, are new; in fact, in most disaster stories they feature together. Yet, we rarely smiled to question how people can be so selfish in a world so narcissistic.

Sons of Sita (2012), Ashok K. Banker
“I intend to beg my wife’s forgiveness and take her and our sons home, if she will agree to come,” he said.
Sita’s knees buckled. Both her sons looked up in alarm as they felt her weight shift, and they caught her arms tightly, holding her up. She regained control of herself and nodded to them. Still, they remained alert in case she should lurch again.
Maharishi Valmiki looked at Sita. “What say you, Lady Vedavati? Do you think Lord Rama Chandra deserves forgiveness?”
She looked at the guru, avoiding Rama’s gaze for the moment. “I cannot say if he does or does not deserve it. I will not judge him. I cannot judge him. I can only speak for myself.”
“Then will you or will you not forgive him?” the maharishi asked gently.
Sita was silent a long moment. Everyone gathered around waited as well. Luv and Kush looked up at her face, holding her hands tightly.
“I will,” she said at last.
A great cheering rose from the ranks of the Ayodhyan army. Word had spread through the army of all that had transpired that day and everyone knew that Rama had found his long-exiled wife and sons. To the masses, it meant that Ayodhya had found her queen. After the threat of war hanging over their heads and the likelihood of war against their neighboring kingdom of Videha no less, it was a treat to see their liege’s martial obsession diverted into a more gentle preoccupation. Kings who loved were easier to love than kings who warred.
The expression on Rama’s face as well as Sita’s showed nothing but love.
A white-cloaked figure strode forward with a stern face. Pradhan Mantri Jabali gestured at his king. “Samrat Rama Chandra, you cannot simply take her back.”
Rama shot Jabali a cursory glance. “I can do as I please. She is still my wife.”
“She is an exile. And she was exiled for good reason. Her secret kinship to Ravana, lord of Lanka, and the fact that it was kept hidden from us for so long, endangering not just our kingdom but all mortalkind, is partly the reason. But there is also the matter of her purity.”
“Purity?” spat Nakhudi, stepping forward angrily. “You speak of purity? How pure are you? How pure is any man? Why do men only speak of purity when it comes to their women!”
Jabali gestured dismissively at Nakhudi, ignoring her outburst. “As a husband, you may do as you please. But as king of Ayodhya, you must also uphold dharma. And dharma demands that any woman you choose to instate as Queen of Kosala should prove herself worthy of that position and respect. You cannot expect your people to respect you if they do not respect your wife.”
“Why should they not respect her?” Rama asked, forehead creased but his tone not angry, not yet.
“For the same reason that any husband hesitates to respect his wife if she stays for even one night under another man’s roof.” Jabali pointed accusingly at Sita. Luv and Kush glared angrily back at him. “Your wife was abducted by Ravana and stayed for months under his control.”
“Yes,” Rama admitted, “but we learned later that he was her father by birth.”
“That is irrelevant to the question of purity. Who knew what transpired with her during the time she was incarcerated in Lanka? A den of demons, lair of rakshasas and all manner of vile asuras.”
Rama’s face hardened. “She underwent the agni-pariksha as was required by our customs. She passed the test of fire successfully.”
Jabali shook his head. “The error you made, if I may call it that, was in holding the agni-parikhsha without any witnesses present.”
“There were witnesses by the millions,” Lakshman countered, stepping forward. He gestured at Hanuman, standing to one side quietly, watching the debate with his arms folded over his greying chest. “Our friend Hanuman was there. As were the entire vanar nations and rksaa nations.”
Jabali’s face twitched in a half-smile. “I meant civilized witnesses. Aryas. The noble folk. Not monkeys and bears!”
Hanuman bristled at the tone of derision but made no comment or move. After a decade spent with mortals he had probably become inured to their racist epithets although it was evident that he did not appreciate them.
“Then take my word for it,” Rama said. “And my brother’s. We were there. We witnessed her succeed in the agni-pariksha.”
“And what of the past ten years?” Jabali asked slyly. “Once again she has been away from your house, who knows where or with whom?”
Rama had no answer to that. Even Lakshman was silent. Bharat and Shatrugan looked on angrily but said nothing because they could not offer anything worthwhile in such a matter. It was Maharishi Valmiki who spoke up then.
“I will vouch personally for the reputation of Lady Vedavati whom you know as Queen Sita,” Valmiki said. “Her honor is spotless.”
Jabali laughed harshly. “We cannot take your word for it, Maharishi. The people must be appeased. And the people are not easily appeased. They have been betrayed too often. The conniving late Queen Kaikeyi, the scheming asura-worshipping Daiimaa Manthara, the intrusions into Ayodhya, the near-invasion by Ravana’s son Atikiya. Jabali spread his arms, affecting a guileless expression. “It is not I who questions the authenticity, Samrat Rama. It is the people. They would need to see it with their own eyes in order to be certain.”
“See it?” Lakshman asked angrily. “Do you mean we should hold another agni-parikhsa just to appease the people’s doubts?”
Jabali shrugged. “If she is truly innocent of wrongdoing and pure as you claim, there is nothing to fear. Besides, it is not I who demands this test, it is dharma.”
“Dharma!” shouted Nakhudi scornfully. “You change your interpretation of dharma to suit your own interests!”
Jabali wagged a finger of warning at the oversized woman warrior. “Mind your tongue, woman. Otherwise you may well be compelled to undergo an agni-pariksha as well.”
“Enough!” Rama said angrily. “If this is the only way, then it must be done.”
He looked at Sita. “I know you are spotless and beyond reproach but what Pradhan Mantri Jabali says is true, a king serves his people and the people will talk. We set very high standards of morality in Ayodhya and in order to enforce those standards I must prove that my family and I abide by them as well. Nobody must have the right to raise a finger and say a single word about you or anyone else in our house once you return home. Therefore I ask you to do this, not for my sake or even for your own sake, but for the sake of the people we serve. For the sake of dharma. Do this one last thing and we shall be together again, forever.”
Sita looked at him sadly. “I thought you might have changed after all. I thought you genuinely meant it when you begged my forgiveness, that you sincerely wished to undo your mistakes and do the right thing at last. I kept my love preserved like an acorn in a bushel for ten long years, in the hope that someday perhaps we might be reunited, that someday you would see the light of reason. But today I realize that it is not possible. You never truly desired forgiveness. You were never sincere in your proffer. You did not ask with genuine intention. All you desired was a queen, not a wife. A figurehead to place on the throne beside you, like the stone statue of me your army carries before it. A pure, perfect idol of a woman. Not a woman herself.”
“Sitey,” Rama said, “you misunderstand me entirely. I came here to ask you to come back. But I live in the service of my station. A king serves the people. Yatha raja tatha praja.”
“‘As does the king, so do the people,’” Sita translated. “So do it. Show the people that you believe in my fealty. That you do not need a fire sacrifice to prove my…purity! Do this and prove to them that to doubt an honest woman is itself a stain on her reputation. To point a finger is itself a sullying of honor. To gossip and speak about someone without their being found guilty of any wrongdoing is itself a crime. Deny this unfair demand and prove to your people that dharma comes from conviction not compromise. Dharma breaks but does not bend. Dharma is the same for men as well as women. Do this and show the praja that you are truly a raja of dharma. Not merely a servant but a king of dharma. Do this, Rama. Do this for the sake of all mortalkind for you are as close to a god as it is possible for a man to be. Do this one thing and you shall be pure yourself, unsullied, and undoubted by history for all time to come. The eyes of countless generations watch you now. You are the one being judged, not I. Do this and prove to all humanity forever that Rama, King of Dharma, can pass this final agni-pariksha. The test of trust. Prove that you believe without question in my so-called purity and need no superstitious ritual to confirm it for the naysayers and doubters of the world.”
Rama was silent a long moment. Even the birds in the forest seemed to have fallen silent as if listening and waiting now for Rama’s response. The entire army, arrayed out for yojanas behind Rama’s royal chariot, waited silently as well, word of mouth having passed on the urgency and import of what was being discussed here. The world itself waited.
Finally, with head bowed, Rama sobbed a single sob and said two simple words, “I cannot.”
Sita was silent for a long moment, even longer than the time Rama had taken to respond. Finally, she raised her head, lifting her hands from the shoulders of her two sons who looked anxiously up at her. And she said in a voice that cracked like thunder: “Then be a broken god forever!”
The earth heaved and cracked beneath Sita’s feet. Luv and Kush cried out and stumbled, reaching out for their mother, not asking for her help but in order to help her. To their surprise, Maatr pushed them away with a firm but not unkind gesture. They staggered back even as the entire section of ground on which Sita stood broke free of the surrounding earth and rose up high into the earth, as if shoved by an invisible fist from below. Everybody around her fell back, staggering and stumbling away from the rising fist of ground. Debris and stones fell, and packed dirt crumbled and spilled over as the ground split. Everybody moved back, away from the heaving earth. A great gaping hole opened in the ground, cracking in a rough circle over three yards wide that forced everybody to move back. Then the cremation pyres heaved and lurched, and fell into the gaping hole! At once, fire leaped up, huge gouts of flame blazing up, as if the smoldering pyres had ignited some underground fuel. The fire roared over a dozen yards high, rising steadily.
Luv and Kush went berserk with panic. “Maatr!” they cried out together, scrambling to their feet. They ran forward, halting at the crumbling edge of the rough circle that had appeared and which separated them from the fist of risen earth upon which Sita still stood. Flames roared upward from the circular gash in the earth and dirt and pebbles crumbled and fell away from beneath their scrambling feet. Nakhudi saw the danger and leaped forward, grasping hold of one of them with each meaty arm. She held them tight, pulling them back. Great archers they were and gifted with the power of brahman, but when it came to simple muscular strength, they were no match for Nakhudi’s wrestler bulk.
Still, they struggled mightily. “MAATR!” they cried, young boyish voices almost girlish in their panic.
Sita turned and raised a hand, palm outwards, to comfort them. “Do not fear for me, my sons,” she said affectionately, “I am safe in my mother’s arms.”
As the other ashramites moved back out of the way, guided by Dumma and the other rishis, Rama and his brothers came forward to try to help. Bejoo and Somasra came forward as well. But the distance was too far to leap, the flames too ferocious and each time anyone came close to the edge, the flames seemed to leap higher, almost as if forbidding anyone from trying to save Sita.
“Stay back, my friends,” she said, her voice clearly audible to all in the ashram clearing. Word of what was transpiring was constantly being passed on from soldier to soldier through the long lines of Ayodhya’s army. Those who were within viewing were gawking with amazement, unable to comprehend what was happening. “Prithvi-maa, the earth herself is my birth mother. It was she who was seeded by Ravana resulting in my birth. That is why Maharaja Janak of Mithila found me while ploughing his field. I was literally born of the earth in a furrow. And now, to that same earth I shall return.”
“MAATR!” cried her sons. Nakhudi’s powerful arms strained to hold them back as they fought and kicked and struggled to break free. Had she let go, there was no doubt they would have tried to leap across the cleft to rescue their Maatr—and would surely have died trying.
“Sitey,” said Rama from beside them. “Sitey, forgive me! I know I have transgressed against you. I came here today to try to make amends.”
“And you failed, Rama,” she said sorrowfully. “You failed utterly. That is why you will always be a broken god. Revered and worshipped, honored and admired, but also doubted and despised. Each time someone speaks of your great works and exploits, another will remind them of your banishment of your wife and ask what god would do such a thing and question your divinity? Today you had a chance to answer them once and for all, to silence those doubters, and you failed yet again. Now, for as long as your memory shall live, you shall be adored as a deva yet doubted as a man.”
“I am a man,” he said, dropping to his knees before the fiery pit. “Just a man. Know me as a man. Understand me as a man. Not as a god.”
She shook her head sadly. “That is the eternal dilemma of heroes and those who worship them. How can greatness have flaws? How can perfection contain a blemish? How can a deva do wrong? And eternally, in answer to those questions, people shall answer a single name: Rama. They shall offer you prayers, yes. But they shall do so knowing that they are prayers offered to a broken god.”
“Come to me, Janaki,” he said, tears rolling from his eyes. “Join with me again. Make me whole.”
“Don’t you want your agni-pariksha?” she asked bitterly. And the flames roared up, engulfing her.
“Maatr,” her sons cried.
“Cry not for me, my sons,” her voice said from within the flames. “These fires shall not burn me, nor the earth suffocate. The heat of the sun will not blacken my skin, nor the cold of winter freeze my blood. My bones will not turn to dust with the passing of time nor will my hair shrivel and come undone. I shall return to the earth and shall be eternally present in her every aspect. Think of me every time you see a flower bloom, a tree offer you shade, or the ground provide you with sustenance. I go home to my mother’s bosom. For that is our sanskriti. When a woman is not accepted at her husband’s home, she must go back to her mother’s house. And this is home to me. From whence I came, thither I return. Before I go, witness my agni-pariksha, tell all in Ayodhya of me, for even in parting, I remain Rama’s wife, and lest a single finger be raised in accusation or a single gossiping tongue speak with doubt, let all see and bear testimony that the sacred agni did not singe a hair on my head or harm me. Pure, did you say, Pradhan Mantri Jabali? Is this pure enough for you? Or do you need to ladle ghee upon my body to satisfy yourself further? Perhaps what men like you truly desire is to cremate women alive rather than accept that they are flesh and blood and human as you are. If Rama is a broken god it is because of this one flaw: he could not accept his own wife without questioning her purity!”

What Is Suggested If You Believe In Manifestation
There isn't an easy trick to answer this question. It isn’t an easy way to roll out the solution either. But not impossible though ! Yes that’s what I personally feel about manifestation. It surely works. Not only it works it change your life completely. The process transform to change the attitude of your perception.
Tumblr media
And at this very conspicuous Saturn Jupiter conjunction we need to understand the science behind manifestation, which ain't as easy as we often think. It isin't an analogy to be rolled out by just rehearsing a video or navigating plethora of articles from under sea bed of Google.
If we want to learn the “art of manifestation“ first and foremost we need to understand Mother Nature. What are we made up of ? What is this universe made up of ?
Why because the entire universe is within us, and we seek to implement by using the ocean which we significantly contribute and affect in some way or the other.
Don’t feel to be lonely; the entire universe is within you. All the nine planets, all the hidden infinite potential within us. We live in our own bubble, to understand universe, is about self discovery. In essence the entire universe is within us. This is where we apply the tools of meditation to Unravel, Unlock, Unfold the hidden potential within ourself and awaken the dormant potential within ourself , which is in dormant state since many of our own lives.
So for those who think that manifestation is just a trick to be fiddle with. Humble request take a pause and quit. Because there isn’t an easy path to follow. Yet no rocket science either !
Whenever we want to create something, we run into the world. We invest in stock market, in gold, in real estate, etc.
My guru always say “ What is that you want ? “ Be specific, be clear, before you actually begin to roll out the blue print.
But, wait ! Whether we had ever thought ; what all we want to create ? But we all want to create ! And we create only matter. Right ?
Path towards manifestation.
Now, if we only create matter. Then what matter is made up of ? All the matter is made up of energy; and in turn energy is made up of vibrations.
So, now one thing is getting clear in our mind that to create a matter we need to create positive vibrations only.
What we're as a physical body is just the tip of iceberg. We've infinite potential which is lying in the dormant form. Every human is not single; is a community of 55 trillion cells; every cell has the mind of its own. Just imagine 55 trillion mind is working within our body. And every living cell has its own memory, which is much more than 8GB. So, now we need to understand what we're. A HUGE hidden potential. Each of us are a dormant Hanuman.
Now if we have understood the basic fact, we need to understand the flavour of ourself. The flavour of our consciousness, which affects our outer world ; which affects the creation of matter.
The people of outer world relate with the flavour of our consciousness. Our inner world is influencing our outer world.
Few people attracts love and respect from their outer world easily. This doesn't happen with everyone. Isn't it? Right ! This is the power of our real world, the realm of consciousness.
Actual game starts from the realm of our inner world. We can easily judge the flavour of our inner world, by just truthfully watching the behaviour from the people of outer world. Experience of outer world influencing our inner world and the believe and flavour of our inner world influencing the flavour of outer world. Your life is unfolding within you, moment to moment and event by event..
But according to the law of quantum physics “you're the creator of your own destiny”
Now let us try to understand.
What is subconscious mind ?
Subconscious mind is a rich field, an ocean full of natural resources, wealthy minerals, sources governing your conscious mind. It is a concentrated field of natural intelligence.
It doesn’t throw any logic, any reasoning. Whatever you say it immediately creates it. It follows your instructions very easily
What is conscious mind ?
The life in conscious mind requires nutrients for survival, which is supplied from subconscious mind.
Subconscious mind send stimulus package to conscious mind where thousands of thought process is going on. When our conscious mind give proper yielding direction to our thoughts, we manifest matter.
When conscious mind merges with subconscious mind, at this very state whatever you visualize, it manifest. the power of mind.
When you’re in very intense emotional state you tend to program your subconscious mind.
Our ancient Yogi’s have stated that we have three state of consciousness
Waking
Dreaming
Sleeping
All three are connected to conscious mind, and it is just 4% of the power of the mind.
Fourth state is the Turia State, which has 96% mind power. This state of consciousness is connected to subconscious mind. And this state is achieved through regular practice of meditation power.
So, now the practice of “Goal Manifestation” it boils down to our thoughts. The collective power of our thoughts. Whatever you sow in your subconscious field knowingly or unknowingly the same same you will reap. If you sow seeds of thorns the same you would grow on your soil.
The universe is made up of consciousness, and from the same consciousness there are five factors which affects our individual consciousness.
How do we successfully be on the path of manifestation.
The argument to the quest start. To manifest we need to be very specific and particular on the following.
1. Nutrition
Our body is what we eat, our mind is what we read or what we see: “Jaisa ann waisa mann”.
And your thoughts create emotions which in turn affect endocrine system a chemical messenger system helping in the secretion of your hormones.
Check what you’re eating. Is it toxic to your body? Satvik food, be true vegetarian. Food we consume has consciousness and the moment we eat, it merges with our own self consciousness. The food we cook contains liveforce energy for three hours, so must practice a habit of eating fresh cooked foods. Once the food is preserved in machines and then consumed loose liveforce energy. Avoid packed foods or atleast for those specific time period; during which you’re on the path of manifestation.
endocrine system - Google Search
2. Breath
Mastering internal breath is very important. And this is one of the reason why our holy monks meditate on himalaya. There you can’t afford the have shallow breathing because of air pressure and atmosphere. So always a deep and continous breath only way to survive over hamalayas. Its an internal martial art. This is achieved through regular practice of meditation.
Breath helps in controlling our emotions. Remember positive emotions within ourself signaling positive vibrations to our 55 trillion cells and negative emotions signaling negative vibrations to our cellular system. And every negative emotions leads a signal to our community of cellular system : look wind up the signal is to wind up.
Controlling the emotions is very important in our goal manifestation. Power of emotions. Always have attitude of gratitude.
Witness the weather, formation of clouds, glowing and smiling faces of people, enjoying the sun rise. You’re lucky enough the day has been given to you : to blossom the gift of nature, blessings of nature. Bless everyone to whom you meet to make people around you feel happy. A simplistic approach to begin your day without applying any techniques, methods or protocols.
This will help to create strong thought patterns within you. A strong powerful vibrations. Powerful healthy environment surrounding you.
Our thought pattern belong to our own consciousness. Biggest pattern do arise within our social norms “ ‘I'm not good”. Start respecting yourself. Accept yourself the way you’re. Forgive yourself , no guilt within yourself. Resonate Unconditional love. Every emotions will produce some thought, and thoughts will produce something. Resonate positive stream of emotions continuously , which will influence your aura and people start appreciating the flavour of your consciousness. Such deep and regular practice will make your emotions steadier and gradually because of your habit it turns to be unconditional love.
Think only what you want. Don't allow the thought to enter your conscious mind the thing which you don't want.
Speak what you want visualize only what you want.
Give to others what you want. If you seek love then spread the happiness of love. Charity begins at home. Give unconditional love to your family members. Nature is very liberal, it doesn't owe to anyone, it returns back with many folds. Seek and it shall be given to you.
3. Praan the cosmic energy
To produce vibrations we require some energy; to activate energy we require some atma (self is life). Real I will always remain, it was always there, it is there, it will always remain there.
Practice some breathing pranayaam regularly. Right breathing techniques powerfully navigates and supplies cosmic energy through conscious mind. Breath provides self belonging conscious awareness. It gives strength to etheric body. Continuous deep breathing exercise will enhance your praanmaya kosh.
Past life karma are stored in gyaanmaya kosh which then rises to manomaya kosh where it due to emotions create some vibrations depending on the type of karma which leads to some thought generation. This thought when reaches praanmaya kosh, if the the pranamaya kosh is weak ; it bounds to take the shape of a disease.
Live in present, because present is truth, past is dead future is false. If you live in present you can create healthy emotions, which in turn it would create healthy positive signal to our cells and hence positive secretion of hormones. Fear, anxiety, anger disturbs our hormones secretions and in turn damage our thought process. but if you're in past you might deluge in negative thoughts.
Always perceive that what you're manifesting you'd already achieved. Live and feel the same emotions. The emotions sends a very strong message to mother nature in the form of vibrations. Always remember your vibrations will create the matter which you want. If you're sending healthy positive vibrations, nature would nurture the same.
On the contrary if you start thinking and feeling consciously that you'd failed to achieve or you aren't able to achieve, it will hurt your emotions. Negative energy would neutralize whatever you'd earned so far and your conscious mind will receive negative nutrients from subconscious mind . Your body will start secreting unwanted harmful enzymes. Our body secrets enzymes based on our thought pattern. If we're living with negative thoughts, body and endocrine system will produce harmful enzymes, contaminating our subconscious mind.
4. Write Golden Book
Golden Book is a journal where we illuminate three things at night before going to sleep.
What is it you want ? Contemplate fully before writing.
What you will get by attaining your goal ? What would be the change in your life.
What is the price you’re willing to pay for it ? What hard work will you do. How many hours you’ll contribute in achieving the goal.
A ledger book debit on one side credit on other side.
Write your “Golden Book” daily. Pen your thoughts your emotions in a diary. Read your write up daily before going to bed. Live with the emotions before your day end. Whatever you want to manifest, always write those thoughts in “present tense”. Only present is truth, rest is false. When we sleep our subconscious mind provides nutrients to conscious mind, so whatever you write feel the same with strong intent emotions before going to bed. Visualize strongly so that it gets layered in your subconscious mind.
This you must do every night. Now close the book, and meditate. Connect to your each breath inhale and exhale fully and deeply continuously without break. Now consider the feeling as if you’re not breathing air, rather breathing packets of energy. Shape size color will vary individually. Be aware of your thoughts fully. Deep continuous sound of your breath. At certain point of time you’re just vibrations as frequency. At this very juncture you’re no man, no woman just a vibration feeling light as if you’re absorbed in the environment feeling powerful, energetic. The feeling of ”Oneness”. Just the feeling of energy no restriction.
5. Manifestation at Quantum level.
Be generic and kind, full of gratitude to nature. Always resonate unconditional love. It might sound bookish in this modern world though. This will make your heart chakra powerful, which in turn will emit positive vibrations. What we give to others it comes back to many folds. Universe is very fertile : whatever you sow, so shall you reap. If you seek love give love in abundance to others, if you seek respect so shall give respect to everyone. It is law of nature, nature loves symmetry.
So move on…
I salute you and salute the very divine within you.

Things I learned while re-watching Star Plus Mahabharata (Part 16/many):
1) As ever with Duryodhan, I cannot disagree with anything he says.
2) Oh god. This scene. Panchali’s curse. Her walking away as Arjun looks on. Gold.
3) Not sure I like this new version of Krishna seekh.
4) Also we have not seen Krishna fight once in this battle of Dwarka vs the King of Shalva.
5) I also don’t like crying Krishna. Not saying he can’t. But I can’t take him seriously when he cries. I need him to be infinitely more chill than SRJ is being right now.
6) Ah, Arjun swearing at the Kurus. A+ 10/10.
7) Oh my fucking god, Subhadra’s opening line to Arjun: how could you let this happen? I expect nothing less from her.
8) Madhav is back now, after chilling in his war. He’s still in a self-driven chariot.
9) Wow, he’s so pissed at the Pandavas and rightfully so.
10) Draupadi telling Krishna that she’s become impure. And anyone who comes near her would also become impure. No. NO. Every woman in the world knows this feeling.
11) Okay, first of all, Krishna, you moonlighting feminist, the first thing you should tell Draupadi is that she has not become malin because of what Duryodhana and Dushasan did. This is on them, not on her. I cannot but compare StarBharat with BR Chopra Mahabharat, the comparisons come very easily to me. And the truth is, they just did some things better.
12) Draupadi’s now fallen at his feet. Krishna is just like, Lord give me strength.
13) This scene is important because I feel like for once Krishna is putting his grand plans on hold for one second to give Draupadi back her peace of mind. Because first and foremost, the Lord is kind to those who follow him.
14) It’s so nice that StarBharat has shown this sort of sisterly solidarity between Draupadi and Subhadra, which is so important.
15) Draupadi is not even remotely impressed by Yudhishthira’s theatrics.
16) Draupadi’s pratigya makes her sound like Bhishma. Intentional or unintentional.
17) I cannot imagine Subhadra watching idly by as the Pandavas and Draupadi walk to the forest. I’m sure she put up a fight against her brothers to be allowed to go.
18) Speaking of, where is Balaram in all of this? His cousins are heading for vanvas and he is still chilling in Dwarka? Unrealistic.
19) Oh nice, Abhimanyu hasn’t even been born yet but somehow Krishna has managed to name him.
20) That scene where Arjun stops Subhadra from touching his feet. Some of StarBharat’s dialogueless scenes are just as touching.
21) Krishna’s glare as Shakuni enters the Indraprastha palace lmaoo.
22) A well executed scene but the watering hole scene happens only towards the end of the 12-year vanvas period.
23) This is hilarious. Yudhishthira is basically like Krishna is going to whoop my ass if I let something else happen to Panchali.
24) Oh god. Everyone loves Arjun the most. But I think Yudhishthira loves Bhim the most.
25) It’s time for Yudhishthira to meet his bio daddy!
26) Arjun doing tapasya for Shiv is my jam.
27) Bhim is such a cutie.
28) This Hanuman story is different though, right? Something to do with some lotus for Draupadi.
29) Is Hanuman a Yadav? He wears the same tilak. Or is this some Ram/Krishna connection we don’t quite know about.
30) I love Hanuman’s character! He’s so playful. And also the Hanuman Chalisa in the background score.
31) Oh so Hanuman knows that Krishna is Ram/Vishnu avatar and says he will chill on the chariot that’s being manned by God.
32) Oh no they never told us about the magic bowl Draupadi had that was gifted to her by Surya Dev which gave them unlimited food.
33) Also, do the Pandavas and Karna ever realise that they are all ‘gifts’ of Durvasa.
34) Krishna creeping in the background like some mega creep 😂
35) This is a conversation for another time but some day we need to talk about the incessant whitewashing of our gods such as Ram and Krishna in modern mythological serials. Also of Draupadi/Dhrishtadyumna/Arjun—basically anyone who’s described in canon as dark. There is some modern fetish for fair-skinned gods that just doesn’t sit right. I miss the dark-skinned Aruns and Nitishs.
36) Durvasa is still not impressed by Krishna. This man is literally god.
37) Arjun is fishing.
38) Oh nice, Indra is also here. Old gods and new.
39) Not sure whether I like this Shiv. Shiv in general I love.
40) Aaaand Jayadrath is here. Can’t wait for this guy to die in tomorrow’s BR Chopra Mahabharat episode.
41) Duryodhan low key throwing shade at Jayadrath is my jam.
42) Really, what does Dushala see in this man?
43) Kaun ho tum? Really? Draupadi doesn’t know her own brother-in-law? That seems highly unlikely.
44) Why is Arjun wasting time with all this trash talk?
45) Arjun is having a lot of second thoughts about keeping Jayadrath alive for Dushala’s sake but this is going to change very quickly during the war. Also Nakul rightfully points out that this man will give grief to Arjun later on.
46) This is by far the worst and most inaccurate map of Aryavarta to ever exist.
47) Oh no Jayadrath’s hair makeup is so not on point at this moment.
48) Mamashri Shakuni is literally fortune telling at this point and this is my jam.
49) So it’s canon that both Shakuni and Krishna are Slytherins, right? Yet they are the two most diametrically opposite Slytherins we have ever seen.
50) Also I want to see Dushala but these shows never give me what I want. When I make the Mahabharata I will make sure the women get equal and opposite screen time and character development as the men.
51) Yudhishthira is getting on my nerves.
52) This Draupadi is infinitely nicer than BR Chopra Mahabharat’s Roopa Ganguli who used to give it to her husbands every opportunity she got.
53) I also have lots of complaints. They didn’t show Dhrishtadyumna taking Draupadi’s sons home to Panchal to raise them.
54) They didn’t show Arjun chilling with his bio dad in heaven! They didn’t show Urvashi hitting on him and him rejecting her advances! Then she curses him, causing him to lose his manhood. And then she reverses the curse after Indra begs her and she limits it to lost manhood for one year of his choosing. That’s how Arjun uses the Brihannala guise for a year during agyaatvaas!
55) Shakuni training himself to think like Krishna. Looool.
56) Nakul bullying children is my jam.
57) Clearly this sattoo ke laddoo business is some sort of secret code amongst the Pandavas.
58) At least Uttar and Uttara are aptly shown as young teenagers.
59) My fav is back! Brihannala! 😍
60) Also what is this face covering nonsense by Sairindhri?! Women in the Later Vedic Age did not cover their faces or their heads behind purdah!!!
61) The Pandavas meeting together after a long time is giving me hope! This is what it’s going to be like when lockdown is over and I meet my friends 😭😭😭
62) This Keechak guy looks evil but I can’t take him seriously because his voice makes him sound like a prepubescent boy.
63) What is this casual classism from Keechak? Like Jesus, what a dirtbag.
64) Again there was no ghunghat back in those days?!?!
65) But iss Keechak ne toh consent ki maa behen kar di.
66) How happy the Pandavas are to see Panchali! Arjun the most, perhaps 😍
67) Virat making a dig at Dushasan. I’m here for this tea.
68) I can’t take Keechak seriously because of his voice.
69) This logic whereby if Draupadi has five husbands so she can have one more—like I will never understand this! She consented to five and no more???
70) Brihannala, my one true fav, is back!
71) Keechak vadh is my favourite episode, behind Shishupal vadh and Jayadrath vadh. Do you see the pattern?
72) Why is Draupadi here? I wanted to see Bhim’s giant form hidden as a lump under a blanket, enticing Keechak.
73) Bhim is here! 😍 Seriously, no one loves Panchali as much as Bhim does. Arjun toh is smitten by our Yadav homegirl.
74) Now Arjun is going to do his tandav dance. This should distract the others from the noise nicely.
75) Oh nice. Nakul and Sahadev are also participating.
76) Predictably, Jyesth Bhrata, Yudhishthira, is not invited to this Keechak vadh party.
77) King Virat is like oh no what a loss.
78) Yudhishthira looks pissed, as always, when his brothers have done something good.
79) Haha. Duryodhan has caught on to the fact that Bhishma is trying desperately to stall so that the Pandavas are not found out.
81) Now Duryodhan is now accusing Vidur of partiality. Again, he is not wrong. I’m so impressed by how well his character has been written. Not one word he says is incorrect.
82) Nice. Duryodhan has his father wrapped around his little finger. He knows exactly how to manipulate him so that Dhritarashtra rises to the bait.
83) After all these centuries Bhishma realises that Shakuni is after the destruction of Hastinapur.
84) Shakuni is admitting now that all of this is revenge for Gandhari. Oh man. Do you think Bhishma knew that the Mahabharat was the result of his poorly executed actions (intentional or otherwise)?
85) King Virat is so smart. I like him. I’m going to be so sad when he dies.
86) Brihannala is going to stay behind. Great. It’s so interesting to see this story in retrospect (which is how it’s told to Janamajeya and Vajra) in the first place.
87) I like Virat with open hair.
88) What the hell is this? I cannot be attracted to Pitamaha Bhishma and Mama Shakuni with their open hair and battle armour?! Adharm!
89) Oh what a cool sundial!
90) I’m glad they showed Uttar as nothing more than a teenager.
91) Mama Shakuni is so fit.
92) Do you think Bhishma recognises Arjun as Uttar’s chariot?
93) Poor Uttar is probably shitting his pants.
94) Arjun praying to Agni Dev to return his Gandiv. Old gods to the rescue.
95) This background score! It’s my absolute favourite! Parthasya Dhananjaya! My fav song on my fav, Arjun 😍
96) Bhishma looks thoroughly pleased. He recognises the sound of the Gandiv’s twang.
97) Now they will fight about the authenticity of the calendar. They should go to a calendar expert.
98) Bhishma looks proper chuffed at Arjun. How on earth will they fight against each other in the Great War?
99) Oh man, Karna is here. Ugh.
100) Karna is here to trash talk as per usual. Oh god both these men are useless. Fight no instead of talking so much.
101) Oh man, the charioteer’s son has been thrown from his chariot but not before taking a shot at Arjun.
102) Ah Karna’s divine armour makes an appearance!
103) Oh shit, this just got real! They’re calling on divine weapons!
104) Bhishma steps in. Of course.
105) Duryodhan’s hah! 😂😂
106) Arjun crying that if he is responsible for Bhishma’s death, it will be hell on earth for him. Oh, Arjun. You must still suffer, a lot.
107) Arjun’s threat, that all the Pandavas will come to avenge Draupadi’s insult. Yes. 100%. I hope in this yug even if men are not punished for their crimes against women on earth, they will suffer forever in hell for their misdeeds.
108) The Pandavas and Draupadi are ready. It’s time for the Great War. It’s time for Mahabharat.

Trinidad & Tobago - Carribean dreams...
I am so ‘vex’ that I won't be ‘liming’ in this beautiful place any more. I have been one lucky person to have been able to come here and hang with a local for almost a week. Jasmine has shown me her Trinidad and for that I am truly grateful. I have eaten so many local foods and they have all been fantastic. I have impressed the locals no end with my love of pepper sauce. The food here is tasty, spicy, and pretty much specific to this island. ‘Nah boy’, I am so very much enamoured with this country! One of my friends asked me if I had posted photos of the food. Truth be told, I don’t have a lot of pics, its not the most photogenic, and I seriously just wanted to eat it! I have partaken in the local speciality of doubles, with ‘plenty’ I might add - for those unaware that is with extra hot sauce and/or the mango bone that is infused with more pepper. Doubles is made with 2 baras filled with a curry channa (chick peas), it originally started as a breakfast food, progressing to be an anytime of the day food. It’s nutritious, tasty, and sold at street side vendors everywhere. Apparently even pizza and KFC taste better over here. This I can now say I agree with. Not sure if the food tastes better, or if its adding the ketchup, mustard, and pepper sauce that assists with the taste upgrade.....
Tumblr media
Jas took me to the home of street food a little town called St James, and made sure I got to have saheena, (seriously amazing spicy little deep fried spinachy deliciousness ) as well as alloo pie...amongst other things. The locals only really eat out at restaurants on special occasions so that meant Jas cooked for me a lot of the time, and wow, just wow. I loved the chicken curry (brown), smoked herring, baigan choka, salt fish, home made roti, the fabulous goat curry.... I could rave on, but google Trinidadian food and you’ll understand. Jas lives out in the ‘country’ to the South of Port of Spain, the capital. We spent one evening heading around to some of the local rum bars. Rum bars are everywhere here. Beer is cold and cheap (and made here - love the Stag and the Carib!). I got to meet a few of the locals. Over here they will buy you a drink even for something as simple as the fact that they had to order over you slightly. At the bar. They loved to meet the ‘white girl from Austalia’, as out here they dont see a lot like me... The good thing is none of it was them just trying it on with the foreigner. These are genuinely lovely, polite, caring people. I had a dance off with some girls from Venezuela, and ended up drinking way more drinks then I paid for, eating (they sell bar snacks and’cutters’ only at the rum shops) some tasty wontons at one place, and some really tasty fried chicken at another. We then got some free food from another lovely local who bought us a drink, and also then brought us across some Souse and Corn soup from his food stall (across the road from the rum shop). Anyway I can now say I have tried Souse, not sure I’d eat it again, it was flavourful, but pigs trotters in broth with onion and cucumber is not on my list of things to eat again! I think I have decided that I need to come back to Aus and start my own Trini food store, I think it’d be a huge hit. Love the local beers. Love the rum here. Jas made sure I tasted the Puncheon rum - 75 % and you never get a hangover or upset stomach... I wanted to bring some home, but alas no room in the suitcase! One of the biggest things, I was not aware that this is the home where Angostura bitters is bottled. It was first created in the town called Angostura in Venezuela by a German surgeon stationed in Venezuela, originally produced there between 1824 - 1830. In 1875, the plant was moved to Trinidad and that’s where it’s secret recipe is still produced today.
One of the main religions here is Hindu, they have a giant (85 feet - 26m) statue of Lord Hanuman Murti located in the grounds of Dattatreya Yoga. The statue is the second tallest in the world, and the tallest one in the western hemisphere. When we pulled up onsite there was one man looking after the bookstore who allowed us to enter the grounds and take photos. We weren't allowed to enter the temple/yoga centre as we weren't appropriately dressed. The gentleman then showed us the book explaining how the statue had been built and answered all my gazillion questions. It was like having our own private tour! Jas then took me down the road a little further to show me the temple in the sea. This temple was originally constructed by hand 1947 -52 by Sewdass Sadhu an immigrant from India. It has since been added to, and tidied up, but it's an amazing place, and a site of pilgrimage for Hindus. It's also one of the designated locations for Hindus to perform the funeral pyre. Hindu religion requires that the dead are burned near water and a holy place.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Brian Lara is still HUGE here. He is a home town Trini boy so I completely understand. Cricket is massive, and the new Brian Lara stadium is a huge landmark. They had a cricket game on when I was here (Trinidad vs Jamaica) but they had sold out the tickets otherwise we would have gone.
Tumblr media
I spent a day at the beautiful Maracas beach, located on the northern part of Trini. On the way there we stopped at the lookout and had a quick look at the food stalls. I got to try some ‘Chow’, a garlicky spicy way of preserving such things as Pineapple, apple, mango, cucumber... its yummy and not too spicy and I really appreciated the stall holder giving me a taste ( and Jas’s friend Isabelle for buying some of the pineapple one). Maracas beach is a favourite with the locals and its a thing to do to have a ‘bake and shark’ when you go to the beach. Betcha cant guess what I had... Can I say amazing (again!!) You not only get your bake (which is a deep fried Roti) You get beautiful fresh deep fried shark fillet inside it, then you go to a buffet like area and add as many of the additions as you want . Yep, of course I added a bit of EVERYTHING . I had to taste it all. Seriously that thing was amazing. BTW I do taste everything first before adding pepper sauce... pepper sauce heightens the flavours. Jas’s friend Isabelle got her son in law to give us a shout out on the radio station he worked at ( they had it playing at the beach), so ‘Karen from Australia’ is now Trini Famous... love it!!
Tumblr media
Jasmine took me out to the Pitch lake, in La Brea, and I’ll admit, I had no idea what it was ( I thought it was a lake!!) Anyway, some how we ended up with a colourful local as our personal guide, he was You tube famous and has apparently featured on David Attenboroughs visit to the lake. I have to sit and edit my ‘documentary’ when I’m back in Australia, it’ll be awesome.. I promise. Suffice to say the lake is the most amazing tar pit. Seriously amazing tar pit. The roads leading into the area are all like travelling over mini crazy hills due to the impact of the tar movements in the area. You have to use an authorised guide on the site, which is fair enough as a wrong step could see you disappear forever into the tar... literally... Trinidads pitch lake is the largest natural deposit of asphalt in the world (estimated to hold about 10 million tonnes) Its covers about 100 acres and is about 250 feet deep. There is a cool legend involving the origin of the lake the involves a hummingbird (I like the story), Historically Walter Raleigh re-discovered the lake on his expedition there in 1595. It has that charming rotten egg smell, and the mud and sulphur water apparently have healing properties. Locals were there immersing themselves in some of the pools while we were there. As we didnt have swim suits we had to settle with getting coated in the mud on our legs, and for me, also my face...lol!!! I didnt get a chance to put it on myself, out guide was very keen to smear it all over my face... (and shirt and hair.. etc...). Rinsing it, after it had set, was a whole other process involving splashing what looked Iike green water all over my face (and legs), all I wanted to do was rinse my face with some fresh water afterwards - and it took over an hour or so until I finally got somewhere to do it. Let’s not talk about how much scrubbing it required later that night to get the last bits of our skin! A great fun day though, made all the better for our colourful guide! I have had a crash course in some of the Trinidadian slang/words and between that and their accents I am sometimes lost in a conversation... (definitely accents particularly when you are trying to enter the country and the border control guy is talking to you and you have to continually say, sorry what??? ) I’m a lot better now!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jas couldn’t make it over to Tobago as she had work scheduled at her house that she needed to be around for. So I decided to head over for a night, hire a car, and see what I could see. Its literally a 20 min flight over (only costs about 50 US return) FYI 24 hrs isn’t really enough to see everything. I didnt get to the water fall or national park. I had headed down to Store bay beach when I first arrived with instructions to try the curry crab, conch and dumplings in Tobago (its their local specialty, amongst a few other things). Have to say I liked the conch, crab was over cooked and dry, and dumplings were kind of chewy. The ‘provisions’ that I got with it were really nice though - Plantain, Potato, green banana, avocado ..I would have liked to have tried another outlet to give a second opinion, but didnt have the time. I did get to the beautiful Pigeon Park, a natural reserve area, filled with some shops, water sports hire, beautiful beaches and glorious spot to watch the sunset. I also got out to the Fort of King George in Scarborough hiking up the giant hill to take in the glorious views. Hilariously there was a traffic hold up on my way there due to some goats being herded along the road. Island time boy. I would have to say, as much as its a part of the one country, Tobago island is completely different to Trinidad. Its a lot more touristy for a start, it has more servicible beaches. The roads are not as pot holed as Trinidad. The people are still lovely, but you get the tourist scouters who are looking to sell you on anything they can. Its a beautiful place and I’m so glad I got to go across and visit. As always, I can always go back!

My time in the Caribbean has come to a close. (9-16 Oct). What an adventure. I have had a fabulous time, and recommend to anyone to come here and see this place, taste the food and meet the people for themselves. The country has their own issues with government corruption which impacts the improvement of infrastructure like roads etc. And there are warnings around safety as there are elements involved in crime that impact locals and tourists alike. This just makes Trinidad Tobago, not unlike a lot of other countries that I have visited on my adventures. It just means the more prepared you are to be open to new things, different ways of doing things, different cultures. The more you are aware of your own safety, and that of your belongings , the more you can avoid crime. Crime can impact you anywhere in the world, countries like this dont have it any more or less than others, it just seems to be in the media more....

M’Baku x Akari (OC)
“As the moon waxes and wanes, so do those of ritual bond feel the waves of instinct emerge stronger and stronger with every moon. The carnality within cannot be suppressed, neither can it be controlled. It can only be... indulged.”
Before Akari could process what just happened she heard Runi call out from the hallway. “Akariiiiiii do you want the rest of your breakfast or can I eat it?”
Her eyes quickly went back to M’Baku who retreated from her and sighed. “Well I guess I better get going and let you finish.” M’Baku smirked as Akari understood the double meaning of his words, almost glowering at the fact he knew he got her all riled up knowing the instinct was stronger with every passing day. “But I mean, if you would like to... take up where we left off... you are more than welcome to visit my room during your visit to the palace.” He smirked devilishly. “My mother really did want you there, it seems that you are owed an apology by the high priest who wanted to meddle in our love life, the one who consequently slipped you a love potion last night.” Akari saw M’Baku stiffen slightly as the next words sat uncomfortably on his tongue. “Seems he thought I was not… paying you the attention you deserved.”
“Uh-huuuh..” Akari did remember seeing N’Ceba on M’Baku’s arm, and even though she knew M’Baku would not betray her like that, she did want to bring it up later, when her head wasn’t as hazy.
Akari furrowed her brow. “And you believed that was all this priest was trying to do?”
“Yes, he is best friends with Grandmamma Nobomi, and there is no way he would try and incur her wrath willingly by trying to harm me or my betrothed.”
Akari would be lying if she said she didn’t feel her heart skip a little when he referred to her as his. But going back to the topic at hand, she didn’t know if she completely could trust the word of a priest who so easily managed to drug her. However M’Baku saw the worry in her eyes and tilted her head towards him.
“I am sure. Trust me. Although… he did make me realize how we do need to start trying for a baby now.”
“...Uh, say what now?”
“I’m joking I’m joking, I just wanted to see the look on your face.” M’Baku erupted with laughter at Akari’s frantic expression.
“I mean well… it’s not that I am totally unopposed to it..” Akari mumbled, not knowing what possessed her to open up to her fiance. “I mean in the far FAR off future, maybe…”  Akari gulped, her nerves taking over her speech as she put her hand behind her neck, not meeting M’Baku’s gaze. Oh Hanuman what am I even trying to say?!
M’Baku’s teasing expression turned to wonder as he realized this was a rare moment, and M’Baku felt this heart swell with pride at his betrothed talking openly about their future, even just a little. He clasped her hands together within his and kissed the top of her knuckles, looking into her nervous eyes. “Not now, but someday.”
Akari smiled gratefully as he pressed his forehead on hers. She couldn’t deny she was getting fonder and fonder of him by the day. Akari had to admit she liked his affections, the way his hand gently wrapped around her back…slowly…. going lower….and… lower… and…
“M’BAKU!” Akari shrieked as she felt both of M’Baku’s hands squeeze her ass so hard she jumped. “WOW way to ruin the moment!” She berated him, hitting him off of her as he laughed.
“Oh, we were having a moment were we?” M’Baku smirked, he found it funny as well as cute that Akari could go from angry to shy in half a moment. “Well, Kari, after you have your nap, and finish the breakfast that your dearest fiancé prepared so lovingly,” M’Baku tried to stifle a laugh when he saw her mouth start to water at the thought of his cooking, “and once you’ve seen the high priest… maybe we can have many, many more moments with each other….” Trailing off as he took her lips once more in a farewell kiss.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After having to listen to a very lengthy and profuse apology from a very apologetic high priest, (who also ended up trying to offer Akari child-inducing potions, to which Akari politely refused and accepted the normal healing ones instead), she boldly headed in the direction of her fiance’s room.
Even though it wasn’t the first time her and M’Baku had been… well, intimate, for some reason she felt slightly nervous. The last time was impulsive, at night, in the dark, and in secret. And while she had accepted she did have feelings for M’Baku, she couldn’t help the bundle of butterflies in her stomach. She’d never felt this nervous for any past dates or encounters with boys or men, but with M’Baku… everything was different.
Of course it didn’t help that she could feel a slight change within his demeanor that morning. It was the first time he had been so forward, and she could see in his eyes the change in his affections. His dominance seeping through his gentle actions, and Akari could feel a change in herself too, wanting to succumb to him. She could only hope that they would both be able to manage these changes.
Akari only had to knock once before M’Baku swung the door open, almost as if he had been waiting intently by the door. She walked in and placed her satchel on the ground next to the bed before turning around to face M’Baku, whose eyes were now dark with lust. Akari’s breath hitched as he cradled the back of her neck, bringing the other hand around her waist while her hands rested on his chest. “Akari…” M’Baku breathed.
“Let me give you the attention you deserve.”
M’Baku quickly devoured Akari’s plump lips with his own, Akari returning the kiss on instinct. “Let me show you that there is no other for me.” Akari knew what he meant, and with a sharp tinge of possessiveness of her own she lifted his head with her fingers sharply. “Say it again.”
Akari watched M’Baku’s eyes peer down at her, already glazed over with need. “Akari, there is no one else for me but you. Only you.” He breathed, before claiming her lips yet again.
Akari could feel it in her veins, there was something different about M’Baku. Even though he was being gentle, she could tell he was trying to restrain himself. However Akari felt something inside herself manifest too, as she grew bolder, turning M’Baku’s face so that she could trail kisses down his neck, earning her a growl from his dark lips.
Her little ministrations felt like fire to M’Baku. Staring to breathe heavier he almost pleaded with her. “Akari, can I undress you?”
Akari stopped her kisses so that she could shift so that M’Baku could take her furs off as well as her shirt, leaving her only in her bra. Akari then removed her pants, but as she rose M’Baku raise his eyebrow with a lustful smile as Akari ran her fingers up his torso, pulling his black v-neck off of him. “Fair is fair.” She chucked, throwing the shirt behind her.
M’Baku bit his lip as he took in the sight before him. “Lay down.”
Akari lay down on the bed, propping herself up against the pillows as M’Baku moved to crawl onto the bed over her, meeting her lips before trailing kisses down her neck, her chest, her stomach, and finally to her little black panties.
M’Baku slowly pulled them down her thighs as the scent of her arousal hit him,  his eyes dark as the instinct pulsed within him, feeling the urge to take his mate. But before he could begin he heard Akari’s sweet voice above him. “Baku I... I’m nervous.”
“Don’t be, sithwanda sam.” He hummed lowly, pressing butterfly kisses against Akari’s thighs. “Just relax…” He purred, as he took in the sight of her wetness inviting him into her. “And let me worship you.”
Akari’s eyes had momentarily closed as she enjoyed M’Baku’s thigh kisses, but they instantly snapped open when she felt M’Baku’s warm mouth on her pussy, his tongue revelling in her innermost parts. She moaned and almost fully sat up at the sensation before M’Baku almost slammed her down into the pillows, keeping a hand on her plush stomach to keep her in position. Akari instantly started mewling at the feeling M’Baku was bestowing upon her. M’Baku’s tongue was doing wonders down there and she swore under her breath as he nudged her clit with his nose.
Akari’s cries of pleasure fuelled M’Baku’s lust as he dove again and again into Akari’s warmth, loving the way she would writhe underneath his hold. He knew that no other man had ever touched her like this, or given her such pleasures, and so he held nothing back, swirling his tongue before darting it back and forth between her folds, earning him curses mixed in with moanings of his own name.
Akari was drowning in sensual ecstasy, and as she rose her head to try and catch a glimpse of M’Baku, she threw her head back and moaned at the sight of his lustful eyes watching her as he devoured her pussy. M’Baku watched her fall apart as her moans grew higher and higher, and as he grabbed one of her full mounds with his hand, pinching the nipple between his fingers, she came undone, cumming on M’Baku’s face to the approving growl of her intended, who eagerly lapped up her sweet juices.
“Akari, the instinct has been driving me crazy.” M’Baku said in a low moan, still cradled between her thighs. “I have craved you ever since last night.” Slowly he crawled back up to her again. “Ever since you seduced me at the banquet, walking in with that absolutely sexy dress, and the way you pressed up against me with these.” M’Baku took a breast in each hand as he pecked each full mound, “You made me want to take you as a woman right then and there in the light of the full moon, so that everyone would know who you belonged to.”
Akari felt her body respond to the dominant tone in M’Baku’s voice, and her bones ached with longing as he trailed his way further up her body towards her face. Akari’s want for M’Baku was just as present, as she locked eyes with the hulk of a man that towered over her. With a shy, tentative hand that gently made its way up M’Baku’s torso. “Baku wait.”
M’Baku let the beautiful vixen beneath him trail the faint lines of his abs that hid themselves beneath the soft body fat of his stomach with her other hand, and growled in approval as he felt her daring hand wrap around his hardened member, simultaneously pushing him on his back with her other hand. Letting his mate take the lead he watched as she settled on his legs, and lowered her mouth towards his pelvis, not missing the sparks of lustful anticipation in her eyes.
“Now it’s my turn.”

Pt. 2: The Wine Down
(M’Baku x Black!OC)
Word Count: 1.9k
Part 1
A/N:This is a continuation of my Day 24 Fictober prompt.  I recommend going back to that if you want to enjoy this fully!  This will be a short little series, probably five chapters or less.  Let’s just see how it goes!
When Gina trotted backstage, wiping her brow elated, her friend Chandra was beaming at her.
“Ok!  We got a full session tonight!  Good job!”
They shared a high five as she primped her makeup.  “Yeah, and the funny thing is, it was a guy I knew actually.”
Chandra stared at Gina suspiciously.  “Uh-huh, is he gonna be a problem or…”
Gina waves her off.  “No!  At least I don’t think so, I just met him today anyway.”
Chandra scoffs.  “If this don’t sound like some stalker shit, then I don’t know what is!  You meet a guy and a few hours after that he is showing up at your job?”
Gina takes a sip of water, rolling her eyes.  “It’s not like that!  Listen, let me do my rounds out here really quick and I’ll tell you all about it, ok?”
Gina got herself ready to serve patrons out in the lobby drinks and snacks as they played pool and lounged before and after a show.  She could here the raucous crowd as she began to step from behind the curtains of the dressing room and it was a boisterous crowd indeed.  A bunch of well dressed and rowdy Black men scattered about the room with cigars talk to one another in pockets of conversation.  Before Gina could make her way to the bar area, she saw him.
He was standing by a chair, bent over talking to a friend sitting down who seemed to have had more than he could handle.  Gina scurried back to the other side of the curtain, running into Chandra, heart threatening to pop right out of her chest.
“Damn, Gina!  What the hell is going on?”  She exclaims.
Gina fans her face as she sits down in agony.  “He is still here, right outside.”
Chandra trots to the curtain, peeking.  “Which one??  Looks like it’s a bachelor party!”
You describe his hulking build and appearance ad Chandra spots him.  “Oh ho ho.  Girl, he is beautiful.  Mm, filling.”
“Don’t be gross, Chandra, dang!”  Gina moans.
“What can I say?  That’s a meal that’ll stick to your bones, honey.  You got a good palate after all.  No way in hell you can go out there though, rules and shit.”
Gina nods.  “I know, and trust me I don’t want to.”
Chandra looks at Gina pitifully.  “If you wanna take off, you can.  I’ll let Dean and them know you weren’t feeling good or something.”
Gina gets up to hug Chandra gratefully.  Chandra was a grad student in the physical therapy field.  She wanted to help children who suffered from debilitating illness and traumatic events push through their disabilities to live normal lives.  So, in the end, they had a lot in common being two working girls hustling for an education.  Before Gina started at the club, she prayed she wouldn’t find herself in a Player’s Club type of situation, but thankfully things never were like that for her, especially with Chandra’s guidance.
“Thanks, Chan.  I owe you one for real.”  Gina changes herself into some regular clothes before making her way to the back exit, and out of the door.
A  couple days later, after hours upon hours of studying, Gina was ready to take her microbiology exam.  The lecture hall was fullest at this time naturally, but long as she had a seat, that test was going to go down with a TKO.  And she was sure of herself when she walked out, having completed it.  She put in enough time where the test almost felt like she wrote it herself.  The answers just flowed from her onto the bubbles on her scantron and she felt better than ever for its completion.  It was time to celebrate.
After a much needed nap, Gina woke up in the evening to head over to the store.  She had a How to Get Away with Murder marathon waiting, and all she needed was some drink to wash all those ridiculous Final Destination-like plot twists down.
Heading to the liquor section, Gina perused the categories of Vodka, Rum, Brandy, Beer, and all the wine varieties before settling on a semi-sweet red that was locally made.  The price wasn’t bad, so she got another one in a sweet white before heading around to the register.
Then came the collision.
Gina tensed up as she came into contact with a big figure, nearly dropping her bottle out of her basket.
“Oh!  Sorry, I didn’t s-”
The figure started to apologize and the voice was very recognizable to Gina as she looked up at him and saw his face, appearing to have seen a ghost with that kind of expression.
Silence fell between them as their eyes locked on one another, not saying anything but saying everything that was spinning around in their minds.  When his eyes fell out of focus, Gina shuffled her weight, preparing to leave.
“It’s nothing, thanks.”  Gina muttered as she walked around M’Baku.
“Wait!”  He calls out.
Gina stops, cursing under her breath as she turns around.  “Yeah?”
M’Baku looked around nervously, walking up to Gina with a half smile.  “Do you not remember me?”
Gina could’ve fallen through the floor at that moment and it would’ve been a nicer situation than her current one.  “Listen, I don’t know what you think you know, but I’m-”
“The produce aisle?  With the viruses and disease, right?”  M’Baku says slowly and expectantly.
Gina closed her eyes, exhaling sharply.  His politeness was barely making this easier as she kicked herself for her past brazenness.
“Riiiight….still, I’m kind of in a hurry, so…”
“Have to pop those wines bottles in an ice bucket, I get it.”  M’Baku chuckles.  “But I’m sorry if I am overstepping.  It’s not my intention to make you uncomfortable, we just had a nice conversation the other day.”
Gina stares him down.  “M’Baku, are you talking to me for THAT or for what you saw?”
M’Baku took a deep breath.  “I hoped you remembered my name.  It’s foreign to America’s standards, so that’s even better on you, Gina.”
Gina scoffs.  “I’m glad you are impressed.  But so you know, something that does not impress me is a question not being answered.”  Gin turns on her heels to walk down the aisle.
As she sets her items for self-checkout, M’Baku posts up at the checkout beside her.  “I didn’t want to be rude.  I figured I should not lead with...that as a part of us reintroducing ourselves, if we met again.”
Gina tries running the white wine across the bar code reader and it refuses to scan.  She sets it down frustratedly.  “Do you think I am ashamed of it?  That it is  secret life or something?”
M’Baku walks over to take the bottle of wine.  “Never said any of those things.”
“You didn’t have to, I can tell.”  Gina slides her card, grabbing the wine as the receipt prints.  M’Baku rings up the white wine without issue.  “I knew you were intelligent with your facts on foodborne illnesses, but I didn’t think you would be a fool when it comes to getting to know a person.”
Gina whipped around to M’Baku in shock.  “Is that what you think?  I’m foolish?  Then tell me, why exactly are you trying to talk to me if not for my club performance, huh?”  Gina crossed her arms waiting on bated breath for M’Baku to respond.
Calmly, he finished his transaction with the white wine, bagging it up.  “You are adorable when you find yourself to be right.  It was pleasing to watch when you discussed the fruits with me, discussed our backgrounds.  Made me feel I was christened by a Queen, even though your appearance was humble, I could tell that you held yourself in high regard.  I wanted so badly to know you more but the timing just wasn’t there, and I didn’t sense you would take my number, so I left it in Hanuman’s hands.”
“Hanuman?”  she asked.
“Oh, yes.  It is part of my religion, which I can go into depth more if you wanted to crack open this wine?”  M’Baku raised his eyebrows as he held to bottle out to her.
Gina pursed her mouth.  “I didn’t ask you to buy that for me.”
M’Baku groans.  “The amount of assumptions you make, I am surprised you are not a philosophy major!  Let me be nice to you, I have not brought up a single weird or out of place comment, and that will not happen if you would give me a chance.”
Gina took the bottle, looking at it as she mulled over the possibilities.  He was right, not once did he even bring up her stage performance, but that would come up eventually, no doubt.  He got the wine, but wasn’t expecting anything, though still she didn’t know him like that.  But she kept pepper spray and lived in an apartment with nosy neighbors and thin walls, so maybe this wouldn’t be a worst case scenario.
“Ok, you have charmed me into submission!”  Gina says.
M’Baku kisses his teeth.  “I won’t go where I’m not wanted.  I don’t force myself where I m not allowed entry.  So please, enjoy your wine, I’ll be on my way.”
As he walks off, Gina calls to him.  “What?  Wait!  I thought you wanted to come over!”
M’Baku continues to walk out of the automatic door.  Gina stands there frustrated a moment before taking off after him.
“M’Baku!  Hang on a second, will you!”
He stops at his car to unlock the doors before turning to her.  “Yes, Ms. Gina?”
She huffs as she takes her phone out clumsily while balancing the bottles.  “Let me at least get your number so I can get back with you...”
M’Baku smirks as he takes the bottles from her, holding them easily under his meaty arms as he typed.  Giving the phone back, Gina looked it over before putting it away.
“I texted you, so…”  Gina mutters in a low voice.
M’Baku stands against his car holding the wine.  “You know, you are a good dancer, technically.  Good control.”
“Annnd there it is!”  Gina says laughing.
M’Baku shrugs.  “It does not influence my desire to know you, however.  I wondered what you may think of me, being a patron!  It was my first time at something like that, the groom and best man had covered us to be able to enjoy ourselves fully for the night, and needless to say I maxed out.”
Gina smiles, looking at her feet.  “I know, I saw the party afterwards.  I snuck out early so I wouldn’t run into you.”
“Yet here we are…but you probably have readings to do and the like, so...”  M’Baku says, studying her face intensely.  Gina got a vibe from him that pulled her closer, she wanted to know more about this foreign man who was taken with her.  Plus it warmed her for him to have  remembered her name, her studies, and not taking her shit.  She had already had her nap, so she was far from tired.
“I actually, just finished an exam, so I’m on a break!”
M’Baku smiles genuinely.  “I’m sure you did well.”
“I know I did, like taking candy from a baby.”  Gina clears her throat.  “So, if anything tonight could be a good night to...hang out?  I just wanted to chill, so if you're cool with boring, you can come by.”
M’Baku stands up from his car, hands folded in front of him as he stands right in front of Gina, looking down at her pleasantly.  “That sounds like a plan to me.”

Our Love In Color VIII
A/N: Here y’all go! Part 8. After this, I’m turning up the heat on this series. Y’all know the reader is Black and Plussized so, be nice.
Warnings: Fluff, plot progression, short but it is meaningful
Translation: iziqhamo-fruit, yam ivu-my rose, intombi encinci-little girl
“Mama, I need a favor.” M’Baku called, catching up with his mother as she was walking through the hall.
“Yes, M’Baku?” she said.
“You know that cream you used to use. The one that cleaned up blemishes and scars. I need some.” He said.
“Why?” Niyi asked. “You usually let your scars heal on their own.”
“It’s not for me. It’s for…someone else.” He said, catching himself.
“Oh? Would Jolasun need it? I can have it sent to her.” Niyi said.
“No. Just give it to me and I can take it” M’Baku said.
“Hmm. Okay. Just meet me at my room in an hour and I’ll have some waiting for you.” Niyi said.
M’Baku held the small container of medicine as he exited the palace gate. He made his way down the path trying to think of a way to tell his parents about Y/N. He stopped along the path at the sign of the tribal shaman.
Tribal shamen were responsible for all things related to Hanuman and the tribe's people fortune. M’Baku figured if they could advise him then, he would know how to make things better.
M’Baku entered through the wood door. “Shaman Tanimola, I need your help.” M’Baku said.
“Oh, I know.” She said. “Why else would you be here? What do you need?” Tanimola motioned him over to the table.
“What would you say to the situation of two people not being able to…be real lovers in front of the people who should know?” M’Baku said, sitting down.
“Why can’t these two people be lovers?” Shaman Tanimola said.
“Because…one of them has parents that want to see them with someone else.” M’Baku said.
“And does this couple plan to stay in hiding? Do they know that won’t be able to keep this a secret for very long?” she asked almost chuckling.
“They believe it will be better this way.” He said, shrugging and shaking his head. Shaman Tanimola stood up and went to the fireplace. She scooped up broken pieces of burnt wood and came back to the table.
“Your hand, Prince.” She said. M’Baku held out his hand, letting the shaman drop the warm piece of wood on his hand. She closed his hand for a moment and opened it. She looked at the ash that was left on M’Baku’s palm and studied the burnt wood. Her brows furrowed as her wrinkled hand gripped his wrist. She looked up to M’Baku as if he had said or done something strange and sat back in her chair, letting him go.
“Shaman? Ma’am?” he asked.
“Secrets destroy things rather than keep them alive. If you allow a secret loom for too long, it’s like a rotten iziqhamo. It gives off a terrible smell and look. Next, if left alone will fester and ruin the other fruit around it.” She said.
“So…are saying this couple needs to be open and tell the truth?” M’Baku said.
“Yes.” She hissed. “All truths must be told.”
“All truths?” M’Baku asked with the most perplexed face. “But…we’ve only been keeping the one secret.”
“One secret can beget another. When one secret is kept, over time, whether it be days months, years or decades, another one will grow and then another after that. And as secrets grow the more damage it will cause.” Shaman Tanimola said.
“Shaman Tanimola, will this really do that much harm? You are making this sound serious.” M’Baku asked, shaking his head.
Shaman Tanimola looked at his palm that still lied open to her view. “I fear the outcome may be dire.”
“Keeping this from my parents I thought was the only way I and Y/N could be together. My father…he would never allow it.” M’Baku said.
“M’Baku, again. All truths must be told in order for all to be free and for all to heal from their unclosed wounds.” Shaman Tanimola said.
“What? Unclosed wounds? Are you talking about something else?” M’Baku said, leaning forward. “What should I do?”
“I know this. However, it comes out. It won’t be the way you want it.” She said, getting up for the table. “I’m afraid that’s my time. You should go. I believe you had an errand to run.” M’Baku looked down at the medicine he was holding and nodded. He paid the shaman and left, trying to decipher her cryptic words.
You stood in the kitchen, cleaning the dishes. The one thing you didn’t like about coming off your concussion was the work you now had to do. You were stopped by a knock at your door. The heavy knock sounded familiar, causing you to smile to yourself. “I’ll get it.” You told your mother who sat, knitting on the couch.
You went to the door, opening it slowly at first but, you were disappointed to not see him there. You found a basket inside, full of flowers, a small container in the middle on the side, a brown paper package with a chocolate label and a note. You picked it up and brought it inside.
Setting the basket on the counter, you picked up the note, unfolding it.
Somethings for you to use to cheer you up, yam ivu.
You bit your lip, thinking about him writing a note to you. “Who is that from?” You nearly jumped out of your skin when you turned around and saw your mother, standing next you. She peered down looking at the note. “My rose, huh? How sweet. Was it the same person that gave you this?” Your mother poked at the discolored skin on your neck from M’Baku kissing and sucking on you from the previous night.
“Mama!” you said pushing her away.
“Aye, aye. Relax. Mama’s only teasing.” She said.
“So, he knows where you stay, yes? Should I start watching the house to know who he is?” your father said coming into the room from his study.
“Please, don’t.” you groaned, putting the note back in the basket.
“It’s been two weeks and a half, intombi encinci. I need to know who he is.” He said.
“I’m not a little girl, Baba. And I told you that when we were ready I’d bring him. You aren’t making this any easier. In fact, what if I say you are only making me more uncomfortable with the idea of bringing him to meet you.” You said.
“Bongani, relax. Let’s give them time. They aren’t rushing so we aren’t rushing.” Your mother said.
“Just tell me. Is it someone I’ve seen before? Do I know his father?” your father asked.
You sucked your lips in and looked at your father, determined to keep your secret and leaving them in suspense.
Your father sucked his teeth and stood back, folding his arms. “Sure, okay. Keep it to yourself. But, you better be the one to tell me. Don’t let this go too long. Don’t shut us out.”
“Alright, Baba. You’ll know in time.” You said, teasingly as you took the basket upstairs.

Protector of Her Heart
Chapter Four
Note: I am new to writing fanfic (this is my first one). I welcome constructive criticism as well as pointers and tips for bettering my blog. Thank you for reading :) Also, I am sorry I took so long to post this. Thank you for understanding.
Summary: Elinora is an empath’s version of Professor X, only a lot more powerful. She is an enhanced human with the ability to read the world’s emotions. Nick Fury has welcomed her into the fold, but with a fear of herself she has been quite reserved. A forced bonding night with the newly discovered Wakandan royalty brings her out of the shadows of fear and into the light of lust.
Warning: some language, implied smut, 18+
Ingcuka - white wolf
Ndiyazi ukuba uyothuka, kodwa nceda ungahambi. Andiyi kukulimaza. - I know you're scared, but please do not go. I will not hurt you.
umfana wam omncinane - my little warrior
Previous Chapter
--------------------------------------
Three days. Three fucking days! If he ever got his hands on her she was definitely going to get a spanking. This woman was driving him up a wall with her antics. For the first day he was beside himself with worry since he could not feel her emotions anymore. Whatever connection they had started to create was gone when he awoke. So he resorted to basically stalking her bedroom door, always checking up on her despite the lack of response when he knocked and the fact that she never came out of the damn room. On the second day, he felt relief at her being alive since Natasha had reassured him that she was just back to avoiding everybody. Now he was just purely frustrated and angry at her for denying him the one thing he craved.
T’Challa found M’Baku pacing in the kitchen with determined strides mumbling to himself.
“I must presume with the way you are still going about that she has not graced us with her presence yet.”
M’Baku stopped pacing momentarily to look at the king and grunt in acknowledgement.
“You know, I understand what you are going through maybe I can help.”
“I will figure this out on my own.”
“Suit yourself.”
James walked in catching the conversation, hesitating slightly in his decision.
“Listen, I probably shouldn’t tell you this since she would most likely see this as a betrayal of trust, but I think I know a way for you to get to her.”
M’Baku perked up at those words, giving James his undivided attention.
“I would greatly appreciate any opportunity to speak with her again.”
T’Challa butt in earning himself a glare that could melt the polar caps, “Are sure ingcuka?”
“Well, I kinda know what she is going through, she doesn’t see herself like we do. She thinks she is cursed and HE is the first person to reach her and really connect. I am not going to ignore that, especially since she needs the love and affection he is offering.”
“But you are probably the only one in your group she even talks to. You would give that up for this stranger?”
“T’Challa, if you do not cease your meddling I will crush you.”
“You can’t just force yourself on the girl, it needs to happen naturally. There is always another way, especially in the face of destroying what little she has in the way of relationships.”
“Is that your offer to put our lives and timetable on hold so that we can allow things to happen naturally?”
At T’Challa’s sigh of defeat, “I thought not.”
In light of his very valid points, James gave him the one secret she had yet to disclose with anyone else, “If you want to see her, tonight would be the best opportunity. For one she is a serious night owl so seeing her during the day is a rarity. And two, she loves the rain, there is a thunderstorm coming and she usually goes out in them.”
“How do you get her to tell you things like this?”
“Well, she didn’t exactly tell me. I have trouble sleeping sometimes too and I found her dancing out in the middle of a storm a couple of weeks ago. After some coercing, she explained that it helps her feel calm and herself. After yesterday’s formal introduction I started to suspect that the storms probably help block off the emotions of everybody although I haven’t verified this with her yet. And the dancing is a telltale of her letting go and just living in the moment.”
T’Challa folded his arms and stroking his beard in thought, “hmph, this girl gets more interesting the longer we stay.”
“She is one of the most interesting people I've ever known and I've come to love her like a sister in the short time she's been here. So since we're basically her family now, if you hurt her M’Baku, I will kill you slowly and in a tortuous way.”
“Do not worry, for I M’Baku, leader of the Jabari tribe, shall protect her with all that I am.”
T’Challa shook his head, “must you always be this dramatic?”
-----------------------
Nora had been antsy for the last few days. Avoiding everyone seemed so hard now that she had connected a little bit more. She now knew they weren't going to get hurt by her, unless she tried to intentionally, which brought about a fierce hunger for affection she was not entirely prepared for. M’Baku made it worse than it needed to be with his presence. He had basically taken up residence at her door whenever they came back after various meetings, press conferences, and whatever else they had going on. The man was resilient and seeing him asleep outside her door each night made it that much harder.
His constant persistence on top of the rising emotions of the world, especially in this country was really weighing on her. So when she woke up to the smell of rain in the air she breathed a sigh of relief and relished in the knowledge that she would soon be able to feel free from the burden of emotions people carelessly projected into the world.
-------------------------------------
Same as the previous nights, she walked out of her room to the sight of M’Baku sleeping in front of her door, or so she thought. She laid a blanket over him to stave off the cold seeping in from the floors and tiptoed around him in order to avoid confrontation. She went outside and walked into the rain relishing the cleansing feeling she got to experience each time, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Twirling around and down into criss-cross applesauce, she started her meditation process, breathing the cleansing air of the storm in and the negative emotions cluttering her spirit out.
M’Baku watched her actions from inside the house, the night sky providing cover in its darkness. Whatever she was doing opened her up to M’Baku for he felt what she did once again. Though the sight and feeling combined was something he had never witnessed before, he knew it was something to behold.
After Nora finished meditating she danced as if she was a child again. Not caring that she was soaked to the bone, she let herself go, crying through each movement over and over until she felt tired enough to go back inside and hopefully sleep.
She passed right by M’Baku not realizing that she was caught until he spoke up. “You will be needing this, you do not want to catch a sickness” he said as he held up a towel for her dry off. Startled, she jumped and just barely held back her scream. “Why are you sneaking up on me?!” Her heart was pounding so hard she wouldn’t have been surprised if he could hear it. “Well, when the love of my life avoids me like the plague, one must revert to hunting tactics. We need to talk Elinora.”
Looking down she mumbled, “I don’t wanna talk to you.” Taking his forefinger and thumb, he grasped her chin gently but firm, tilting her head up until she had no choice but to look him in the eye, “Ndiyazi ukuba uyothuka, ungashiyi. Andiyi kukulimaza..” Nora pulled away from him despite the incessant need to lean in, “I can’t do this, whatever it is, please just leave it alone.” She looked back up and the determination in M’Baku’s eyes both scared and thrilled her, he wasn't going to be giving up anytime soon.
Pulling away, she solidified her decision that they shouldn’t be together, but the big brute was obviously not letting this go and she was not having this conversation with him so she did the only thing she thought she could do in that moment, she ran. Probably not the smartest idea, but she was desperate to not have to deal with this situation. Stunned, it took M’Baku a second to process what was happening, but once he did, he thanked Hanuman for his training. Moving faster than should be possible for someone his size, he caught up in three strides grabbing her by the waist and throwing her over his shoulder. He continued on to his way as if he didn’t just lift her over his shoulder.
“You seem to have an affinity for fleeing and have yet to understand that I will not tolerate you running away from us.” Smacking his back in protest, Nora replied, “Put me down you big brute! Can’t you take a freaking hint! I don’t want to talk to you and I don’t want whatever this is!” M’Baku grunted and smacked her bottom in reply continuing the journey to his room. Stunned at the action and her body’s response Nora stopped her antics since moving at all caused her body to perk up even more and take notice of the power now underneath her.
“I thought we would have a civil conversation, but it seems you want to fight me and us every step of the way.” M’Baku walked into his room and locked the doors. “That is fine, I am just as stubborn and twice as resilient.” Walking to his drawer he pulled out a shirt and handcuffs. Catching the glint of metal made heat pool low in her belly.
M’Baku walked into his closet, closing that door as well before depositing Nora on unsteady legs.
“I am going to turn my back, you are going to strip and put this shirt on. I will not have you catching a cold.” She shivered at his demand. “See? You are already shivering.” Thankful for the scapegoat she said nothing to indicate it was him having an effect on her and not her drenched clothes. After he turned around she moved as quickly as possible, not risking him seeing her in all her naked glory.
Once she was done changing, M’Baku picked her up in the same manner not trusting the little minx after realizing her tendency to run. “I am too heavy for you to constantly be picking me up like this just let me walk.” He gave her another swat eliciting a low moan that did not go unnoticed, “I do no not know who told you such lies, but for me you are the equivalent of a feather.” Easing her onto the bed as gently as possible while trapping her underneath him he looked at her as if he was searching for the secrets of her soul. She looked away, not accustomed to such intense attention focused solely on her. Pushing her hair to the side M’Baku leaned down and whispered in her ear, “give me your hands umfana wam omncinane.” With him staring at her again, it seemed as if she no longer had control over her body because she followed his instruction without question, lost in his gaze.
M’Baku handcuffed her to the bed with her arms above her head. After she was secure he took one finger and traced her body starting from her fingertips, down her arms and sides, to her luscious thighs and finally her toes. Starting back up from her instep, he worked his way back up stopping a few centimeters from where she craved his touch most. Looking up and licking his lips, speaking in a voice deepened by lust and longing, “now that I have your undivided attention…”

Awesome Architecture of Lepakshi Temple | Troopel.com
Tumblr media
Lepakshi Temple in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh is famous worldwide for hanging pillars. The exterior of the temple has a huge dance hall with 70 stone pillars on the roof. One corner pillar is the famous Hanging Pillar which does not touch the floor of the temple at all and there is a small gap between the temple floor and the base of the pillar which gives the impression of a hanging pillar. There is a dance pavilion in the center of the temple. It is said that if a person lifts a cloth from one side of the pillar to the other, his wish is fulfilled. This unique pillar of the temple is a big secret for the millions of tourists who come here every year.
According to the legend, Lord Rama came here during his exile along with Lakshmana and Sita. The village is also considered as the place where Jatayu fell after Ravana was injured while being kidnapped by Ravana. Lord Rama and Lakshmana find Sita injured and Jatayu dying and Jatayu informs them of the fight to tell them that Ravana had gone south. Lord Rama then embraced him as shi le pakshi, hence the name of the village.
Le Pakshi is a Telugu word meaning shi arises, bird '. The temple is said to have footprints of Lord Sri Rama, while many believe it to be the footprint of Mother Sita. It is believed that after Jatayu was injured, Sita came to the ground and left her footprint and assured her that the water here would continue to give life to Jatayu until Lord Rama came here. There is a wonderful Shivalinga located here, Ramalingeshwar, which was established by Lord Rama himself after the funeral of Jatayu. Another Shivling nearby is Hanumanalingeshwar. It is said that after Shree Rama, Mahabali Hanuman also established Lord Shiva here.
According to mythological beliefs, this temple was built by sage Agastya. But according to historians, the temple was built in 1583 by two brothers (Virupanna and Viranna), who worked for the king of Vijayanagara. This temple is built for Lord Shiva, Vishnu, and Virabhadra. There are also different temples of the three Gods here. There is a large Nagling statue in the temple complex, which is made of a single stone. It is believed to be the largest Nagling statue of India, whose statue is made of black granite stone, with seven hood snakes carving on top of a Shivling.
