This is one of my all time favorite Colombo episodes, It's All in the Game. Throughout this entire episode, Faye Dunaway is trying to seduce Lt. Colombo. He plays along, but he's faithful to his wife. He gets so cute as he gets flustered and blushes. I love Colombo. He's such a great guy. I've been watching this show since it first aired in the 70s. I can almost recite the dialog because I've seen them all so many times, but I still watch. It's a crime show with no violent scenes. I love that. And I enjoy watching Colombo solve the crimes using just his mind and deductive reasoning. I wish all police shows were like this. It makes for a much more interesting show. I get no anxiety watching it. If you're ever gonna watch an episode of Colombo, I recommend this one. It's great

Unraveled Pretenses ◈ Pairing: Zhongli x Fox Spirit Reader ◈ Contains: mentions of yin/yang, wonky mythology, feeding urges, monthly werewolf-like behaviors ◈ Wordcount: 1911

Unbeknownst to the rest of Liyue, the retired Geo Archon was living among them, pretending to be a human, trying his very best to blend in. He's confident in his disguise since nobody's confronted him yet on what his true identity is. His days of descending on this city as a dragon are long over and now he simply enjoys leisurely strolls along the harbor as an unassuming consultant of a funeral parlor.
You were a young and curious fox spirit who after hundreds of years, finally gained the ability to transform into human form. Of course your first destination would be to visit the dazzling city by the harbor, full of colorful lanterns and the joyful sounds of its human crowds. You bump into a handsome man with the most striking amber eyes. His gaze lingers, causing your heart to quicken. He smiles and utters an apology.
"Are you lost?" He asks you. "I couldn't help but notice you wandering along the pier. Are you perhaps looking for someone?"
"No, I'm actually not from around here." You quickly reply.
With that admission, the kind man took it upon himself to be your tour guide. He introduced you to many of Liyue's prominent shops and even brought you to an inn where he requested a room for you to stay when you told him you didn't have anywhere to stay the night. The problem was, you had no mora on you.
"I see..." He coughed, realizing that he also didn't bring any mora. "Please place it on the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor's tab."
Since he was the first friend you made in this unfamiliar city, it never occurred to you how strange Zhongli was. You assumed many things about humans based on your own observations of him. He was fascinating, with his endless stream of stories. You learned so much about humans from just listening to him ramble about the city. He also asked his employer if you could help out at the funeral parlor. Humans worked to receive mora, which they purchased things with. Nothing was free here, unlike in the mountains. You eventually needed to repay Zhongli for all the kindness he's shown you. That's what a human would do. Even though he put everything on the Wangsheng tab, you found out that all of that mora he spent on you was ultimately going to be deducted from his own paycheck. You might be a fox spirit masquerading as a human, but you weren't an ungrateful prick. Fox spirits get a bad reputation in this part of Liyue because of their tendencies to steal from and trick humans, but those were usually farmers who regularly left out animal traps. Fox spirits weren't as devious as they're rumored to be.
What was originally supposed to be a quick trip to satisfy your curiosity about humankind turned into a prolonged stay. You had become a resident of Liyue harbor. Your friend Zhongli was now your neighbor and you regularly stayed over until late, drinking tea or wine with him. It was your first time drinking during a full moon, when yin energies were at their strongest. Your human appearance relied on your stockpile of yang energy that you had slacked on replenishing while you stayed in the city. In a panic, you rushed out of the courtyard and into the streets before Zhongli could return with another bottle of heated wine. You only had one human friend in this city and you couldn't let him see you with fur sprouting out of your skin and a tail dragging behind you under your skirt. It would frighten and disgust him. You remembered all the stories you heard about fox spirits, sinister creatures who take the form of seductive vixens to lure impressionable human victims into dark alleys to feed off their yang energy.
Your body grew weaker the further you ran. The moon loomed overhead like an omen, silently mocking you for pretending to be something you were not. Yang energy, where would you get yang energy? Panic coursed through your body as your eyes scanned the streets. There was scarcely any people loitering around at this hour aside from drunkards. The thought repulsed you, but your yang deficiency drove you towards a lone figure laying against a wall up ahead. It was risky to feed off humans, especially in a city like Liyue where prominent exorcists reside. You could be caught and killed. Your pelt would be made into a luxury rug to be sold off to a rich collector. You didn't live hundreds of years to end up as somebody’s rug.
The only other option was to find a place and hide, enduring the crippling hunger pangs until the full moon went away. With how weak your body was getting, you weren't even sure if you could make it out of the city and into the forest before you passed out.
"There you are. I wondered where you wandered off to." A familiar voice sounded from behind you just as you were about to collapse.
"Zhongli?" You managed to say, head spinning as your body was lifted off the ground. "Wait..."
You didn't have to look in the mirror to know that you probably looked hideous with your human form slipping. You could see your claws instead of fingernails as you raised your hands to encircle Zhongli's neck. Your tail swung from side to side as he walked with you in his arms.
For some reason, ever since he scooped you up, your hunger pangs diminished. You still felt extremely weak due to the lack of yang energy, but at least you weren't lightheaded anymore. The tuffs of fur that had sprouted up along your arms disappeared and it seemed like your claw were shifting back into fingernails. Was it Zhongli?
"You don't look scared." You noted curiously.
"Should I be?" He smiled down at you as he made his way back through his front gate. His door opened for him as if a ghost had pulled it open. Zhongli set you down gently on his chaise.
You realized how unusual your friend's reaction to your appearance was. For Archon's sake, you had a furry tail! Humans don't have tails. He was too calm, too collected.
"When did you know?"
He chuckled, handing you a piping hot cup of tea. It smelled a bit strange, but the scent seemed to help ease your symptoms.
"Ever since I laid my eyes on you." Zhongli admitted. "You have a distinct aura about you that humans do not possess."
"I didn't think it'd be this bad." You glanced up at the moon through his window, a bit conflicted.
"You are safe here. Nobody besides me will know about your secret." He assured you. "If you need it, I can help you request for a few days off from the funeral parlor."
"There's something else..." You trailed off, catching yourself before you said something inappropriate.
Zhongli was already doing so much for you despite not being under any obligation to. You already decided to endure the hunger pangs until the full moon was over and now he had provided a safe place for you to do that. You shouldn't ask for anything more from him.
"Do you still feel unwell?" He furrowed his brow, leaning over you and placing a palm against your cheek. You were awfully cold to the touch. "It seems that the red ginseng was not potent enough. Perhaps I should consult Baizhu to see if there is something more effective for replenishing yang energy."
Your eyes widened at his words. How does a human know so much about what you're going through? For the first time since you've met him, it suddenly struck you how unusual this man was. Perhaps you had simply spent too much time with him. Proximity renders the eyes blurry.
"That's not really needed." You couldn't let him get another person involved in your ordeal.
"Indeed. It looks like my presence has been able to keep your symptoms at bay. Perhaps..." He suddenly paused, clearing his throat. "May I propose something?"
"Hm?" You raised a brow.
"A contract." He said softly. "You do not have to agree to it if you do not wish to. I am simply offering you a solution if you wish to avoid this sort of affliction in the future."
Your mind raced through all the possible solutions he could possibly be alluding to and realizing there could only be one that involved his help. Suddenly the room got a little hotter, or was it your face? You drew in an anxious breath.
"I trust you didn't wish to harm any humans because of this condition of yours. If you did, I would not have found you in the state I found you in. Consider it... my gratitude. You need not worry. If you were to feed off me, it would not affect me as severely as it would a human."
"You say that like you're not human."
"I never said I was human." He chuckled, reaching out and petting your furry ears. "That, my dear, was something you assumed of me."
Your shocked expression seemed to cause him great amusement.
"What are you then?"
"If you really must know, I suppose I can show you." He sighed. "It would only be fair since I am seeing you as you are now."
Zhongli's body began to shift, growing a bit taller. Brilliant golden scales scattered along his skin and a long scaly brown tail extended from behind him, ending in swirls of gold. Your eyes widened when two crystalline horns sprouted from the top of his head, gold like cor lapis. You were speechless for a good minute or two, unable to look away. Zhongli was no human for sure. You believed what he said just now and finally understood why his mere presence could suppress your hunger for yang energy. In front of you was a fucking dragon, the very manifestation of yang energy. You could drink your fill off him and it wouldn't even make a dent.
"Are you really letting me feed off you?" You had to ask him again to make sure. Just the thought made you unconsciously swallow.
"Please be gentle."
Zhongli chuckled as you grabbed him by the lapels and pressed your lips against his in an open-mouthed kiss. He groaned softly in protest as you rolled on top of him, pinning him underneath you. Much-needed yang energy flowed up from his lips to yours. You drank it in greedily, like a thirsty traveler stranded in the desert.
When you finally had your fill, Zhongli was panting from lack of air and a heavy blush was spread over his face. This was way too intense for a first kiss, you had to admit, but could you be blamed?
"It worries me that you may need to do this every month." He spoke up.
"Do you want to retract the contract already?"
"I said no such thing." He smiled at you.
You could see your reflection in his amber eyes. Since the first time he laid eyes on you, he already knew. It felt nice laying in Zhongli's arms like this without your mask. He was him and you were you. Neither of you were what you both pretended to be. You would probably never truly blend in, but if Zhongli could pull it off, so could you.

White Pony Tattoo - Part Five (intuition)
Sherlock took a sip of his tea and John felt a wave of jealousy for the teacup that was embraced by this perfect cupid’s bow of Sherlock’s lips. Sherlock swallowed and John mirrored the movement subconsciously, fascinated by Sherlock’s bobbing Adam’s apple.
He’s far too beautiful to concentrate, John sighed internally, how will I even survive getting tattooed by him, with his hands all over me? Well, all over my arm at least. But he will be so close. I’ve never met a person who at the same time is such a seductive menace and an annoying dick. Seems like he’s just my type, dear me.
“So,” Sherlock stood up again, unable to contain his excited energy about explaining his deduction, “how did I know?”
“I’m all ears, oh great Meastro.”
Sherlock flashed John an amused smile.
“When I first saw you, you had pulled off your jumper and were looking with disdain at the Virgin Mary tattoo on your upper arm. It sports the face of a real woman, your ex-wife apparently because of the marks on your ringfinger where your wedding band had been. Ergo she left and betrayed you and you’ll be divorced soon and want to eradicate every memory of her.”
“Okay, I get this. But the soldier? Getting shot and surviving in Afghanistan?”
“Your whole stance and demeanour screamed ‘military’. You still cut your own hair in short military style. Scar tissue on your shoulder peeked out under your vest. You’re not shy about showing off your naked arms but hate the scar. I’ve done a lot of research on skin and also cover-ups. I know a gunshot wound when I see one, one that got severely infected by bacteria and you survived sepsis. The skin is badly healed, so a quick emergency job. There are tiny spots of sun damage on the skin of your neck, they are fading but still visible. Ergo, you’ve been in a hot country with a war going on and got shot not very long ago where the British have fought, so soldier in Afghanistan or Iraq.”
“Amazing!”
“You think so?”
“Sure. What about the doctor part? Intuition?”
Sherlock snorted. “No. I don’t deal in intuition. I knew you were a doctor already, even before we talked about achieving perfection in our respective trades.”
“How so?”
“The position of getting shot in your back while you were kneeling. Exit wound is on chest, causing an intermittant tremor in your hand. You hate the scar tissue on your shoulder, you conceal it as it insults your ideals as a doctor. Only a doctor would have scrutinized my frontroom for cleanliness like you did. You saw the flyers about proper hygiene and skin care after getting a tattoo. You appreciated the skin care products I sell in this shelf here, obviously acquainted with them and knowing they’re the best you can get.
Also, a doctor because it’s the only logical reason why you should have been kneeling and bent over in such an unusual angle, so helping a comrade wounded in action. You wouldn’t have been distracted otherwise and missed the shooter because you automatically scanned the shop for any possible dangers when you entered and subconsciously stand at attention when you have to face a perilous task…”
“Perilous task as in getting you to tattoo me?” John intterrupted with a grin.
“Obviously, do keep up, John! You loved being a soldier and wanted the happy memory erasing the one of your ex-wife. You’re attracted to dangerous situations and people, they make you feel alive. Final conclusion, you wanted a soldier in full combat gear for a cover-up.”
“Holy Christ, you’re spot-on.”
Sherlock beamed, not hiding being very satisfied with himself.
“And are you?” John continued.
“What?”
“Dangerous to me?”
“Of course, I am. Firstly, I’ll come at you with a loaded gun…”
“…a tattoo gun…”
“…that still can cause a lot of pain and damage to your skin if wielded incorrectly.”
“I’ll give you that. And secondly?” John asked and took a sip out of his cup.
“Secondly, you find me dangerously attractive.”
John spat some tea onto the coffee table.

How would Mello react to an extremely mischievous Near?
Thank you for the ask!! I think this post sums up my thoughts about mischievous Near on the whole. Working off of that, I'm inclined to say it really just depends on the situation. A lot of Near's mischievous moments in canon happen during his interactions with Light, when he catches Light in a lie or corners him with his deductions. With that in mind, my first thought is that this mischievous side of Near would pop up in similar situations within Mello and Near's relationship. For example, when Mello fucks up in some manner and Near has to corner him into giving an apology, or he tries to lie about something, and Near uses his interrogation skills to force the truth out of him. This sort of thing would range anywhere from mildly annoying to incredibly infuriating for Mello depending on how serious the circumstances are and how developed their relationship is (although it would ultimately be good for him). The other time I can imagine Near being very mischievous with him is as a means of flirting/seduction, and in this scenario, I have to imagine Mello would be much more into it. I think untouched by @neallo is a really good demonstration of both scenarios described here if you're interested in reading more!

Okay! now that I’m done rereading Mo Du by Priest, time for an overall review on the entire series! WARNING: unlike my previous book by book review, this review WILL contain spoilers, even if theyre not major, cause it’s more of an analysis than a review so beware!!
Tumblr media
A piece of work about: a team of investigators, from the special crimes department, whose wildest wishes is not to spend the weekend working overtime; a sociopathic young CEO, who cant put the case behind his mother’s death to rest; five elderly policemen from the previous generation, two of whom have died under suspicious circumstances; and a never ending series of crimes varying from kidnappings to trafficking to murder and maybe even serial killings. If this already sounds complicated, then dont worry, cause it gets even more and more complicated to a point where you find yourself juggling two, maybe even three, cases at a time.
I’ll start with the characters:
Luo Wenzhou: a charismatic, quick tempered captain of the investigation team who’s a lil too full of himself but he still has a heart large enough to embrace everyone he comes across. i absolutely adored his character, his dialogue and quips, his fatherly demeanor in which he lectures his subordinates before proceeding to do exactly what they were doing, then buying them all food so they can overlook his shamelessness. Luo Wenzhou is the sort to overcrowd the room with his boisterous, loud personality; the sort elders lectured all the time for getting in countless troubles, but still openly favored anyway. He is bold, capable, kind, creative with his insults, and even though he’s always threatening to give everyone around him a beating, the most he does is smack them on the back of their head. His character is simple and easy to read, but definitely very lovable and warm.
Now meet Fei Du. Our beloved sociopath. Yes he’s an actual sociopath (he is NOT a psychopath, cause psychopaths are born that way, and sociopaths are MADE that way during their childhoods, which leaves room for them to heal and reverse what they were forced to learn and unlearn it all, a very important point. While we certainly meet a lot of psychopaths in the series, the difference between them and Fei Du is that Fei Du, later on, unlearns everything that was forced down his throat and heals, which is one of the themes in the series). Now what I really love about this novel, is that while in every other danmei, there’s always one shy and and quiet character while their love interest is always the loud and extroverted one, in this web novel, they are both equally flirty, equally shameless, equally extroverted, and equally bold in everything they do. While Luo Wenzhou’s charisma expresses itself in a more cocky, big handsome brave man type of way, Fei Du’s charisma is a lot quieter and more…seductive, sensual and silk-draped. His words are always as sweet as honey, he’s the sort to send flowers and wear expensive strong cologne, drive up to your work place in an expensive chic car, and open the door for you. A true Gentleman, the very opposite of the Hero and Savior, Luo Wenzhou, who’s a lot more aggressive and rough and protective.
But Fei Du’s character goes deeper than that. I absolutely loved how intelligent priest made him out to be, and i always looked forward to his explanations and deductions for every case, his chameleon like mindset and mirroring personality that seems to shift and change and adjust according to whom he’s talking to and what he wants from the person he’s around. His childhood is horrific, truly the most frightening backstory in any novel i’ve read, it exceeded my expectations the first time i read the series and completely took me by surprise, nothing i couldve ever expected. He is extremely manipulative, and up until the last few chapters in the last book, you still cant trust him or deduce his motives or know where he stands. And yet, priest somehow manages to make him no less lovable than Wenzhou, cause even if you dont know whether he’s evil or not, you still cant help but be fond of him.
I absolutely LOVE and ADORE fei du and luo wenzhou’s dynamic, with the way they spent the first novel bickering and fighting back and forth, unable to so much as stand being in the same room as each other, to the way they started shamelessly flirting back and forth and one upping each other in the next book, building up so much tension between them. And even when they got together, they still retained a very interesting dynamic, their relationship never mellowed down, it was still very entertaining through and through. A perfect enemies to lovers. (Also side note, i feel like if you were to take priest’s character Gu Yun from Shapo Lan, and split him in two, you’d actually get fei du and luo wenzhou. I feel like they represent the two different sides of Gu Yun, the flirty and seductive young master everyone wants to sleep with, and the capable and bold leader everyone would follow loyally to any battle.)
The rest of the characters, aka Tao Ran and Lang Qaoi and Xaoi Haiying and Zhou Huajin and basically everyone, are my CHILDREN i will protect them with my BLOOD.
Now for the plot, well, i’ve always been a mystery and thriller girl, so need i say more? All priest had to say was CRIME, and i came running. From the moment the first case presented itself, i knew this series was gonna become one of my all time favorites. I’m talking yellow “KEEP OUT” tapes, i’m talking forensics complications and bloody crime scenes, I’m talking clues and hints and evidence and suspects and a classic ‘who done it’. Every case was different from the last, so the series never felt repetitive or boring. Each time it was a different issue, a different pattern, a different plot twist. Priest definitely kept my nerves wrapped up in a twist throughout all five books, always on a look out for different clues and hints, always trying to put two and two together and figure things out along with the characters. She touched on topics from mass homicide to rape and pedophilia to prostitution and drug addiction to a wealthy family strife over inheritance to cults and the abyss behind victimhood and grief. I absolutely loved the range, how you could go from reading about the silly banter between the characters over what they should eat while they work overtime, to serious and deep discussions over trauma and justice, and what was the correct way to process grief and get over an event that ruined your life and the lives of everyone around you. Another thing that i loved, was how interactive the cases where. It felt like everything clicked, everything made sense, and nothing was overlooked. Every question i asked myself, a character in the book would ask and an answer would be presented, and every minor detail that was mentioned in the very beginning that i quickly forgot, was brought back later on and expanded on in more detail and care. It was an extremely fun read.
Finally, the overarching theme of the story, discussing the processing of trauma, grief, abuse and victimhood, as well as criminal psychology and the line between justice and self righteousness. I love how for every case presented, Priest always showed you the two sides to the same coin, the two paths anyone is presented with in the face of life altering events. Priest gives you the answer to questions like, why did Fei Du choose not to become like his father, an actual psychopath, why was he capable of undoing all the things his father taught him and why did he consciously CHOOSE that path, over simply following his father’s path of psychopathy and greed and apathy and murder. Priest presents you with characters that are born into circumstances similar to Fei Du’s, but with just the tiniest differences and alterations, they ended up on a complete different path, being on the opposite end of the interrogation room table, bearing handcuffs. But priest doesn’t give you all the answers right away cause where’s the fun in that? She leaves you wondering why fei du turned out different, or did he actually turn out different? Why didn’t he end up like all those other psychopaths who followed the lead of their parents? Till at last, she explains everything in the last book, and you put together a similar conclusion yourself just before everything is unraveled (if you guys want, i can do a whole meta analysis on fei du’s character, cause he is one of the most interesting characters that i’ve read about). Another example on the same circumstances but two paths concepts would be, without any major spoilers, the families of the deceased and the victims. Now i wont divulge into details not to insert any major spoilers, but whoever reads book 5, then reads the extras after the epilogue, will definitely understand what i mean. That was a brilliant stroke on Priest’s part, definitely genius.
This whole installment was intriguing, intricately woven, complex and simply mind blowing. You’ll laugh, cry, get anxious, feel relief only to end up anxious again, attempt to solve the cases along with the characters, stay up late while going over the INTENSE interrogation scenes, and meet all sorts of criminals and personas as you dive deep into their psychological thought process and motives. This series is a DEFINITE 1000000/10 to me, my third favorite danmei (right after the dumb husky and his white cat shizun by meatbun and heaven’s official blessing by mxtx). Also, there’s a pet cat :D

Once again thinking about Vulcan fiction and while I’m sure their mysteries are known for being satisfying to read with great plot twists and foreshadowing and stuff
I just. can’t stop laughing at the idea of how they’d portray their characters due to cultural differences
Like the characters might not be engaging for other species to read about because they might be riddled with Vulcan subtlety, like two Vulcan characters might be having an argument but for anyone who’s not a Vulcan they wouldn’t be able to tell it’s an argument
or because it’s Vulcans having an outlet for their emotions and stuff, the way they write their characters might be incredibly engaging and it blows everyone away, and there might be a lot of inner monologuing
But what I’m really laughing at is what tropes a Human might fill and there’s probably a lot of mean character archetypes they could create for Humans but instead of focusing on that, I’m focusing on two fun possibilities:
1) Humans always fill the role of a sorta “John Watson” character, just following the Vulcan detective around and being amazed by their deductions and statistics (I know that’s not all John Watson does in any version, but I know that’s how people broadly categorize that character)
2) (and this one I really can’t stop laughing at) Humans always fill the “really sexy character” role, whether it’s the dangerous seductive villain trying to distract the detective from their crimes to make a getaway or the really attractive victim who the detective is trying to ignore and keep their emotions in check to solve the crime but they’ve become emotionally compromised and too attached to this enchanting individual and now tracking down the antagonist of the story has become personal
Except, none of the Humans ever read the Humans like that, so they have no idea the Human characters are supposed to be incredibly attractive or anything, it just seems like. normal Humans to them
(I just like my one hc that while Humans see Orions as v sexy, Vulcans see Humans like that)

The Kamora Files - Volume 1 [Disclaimer - Some of these crimes may not apply to all characters or teams listed. With that in mind, please don’t take this too seriously.] ______________________________________ Entry #1 - MIHANASA ______________________________________ MIHANASA is Fukuoka’s 1st DRB rap team, consisting of Chuohku experiment Inouye Sanyu, card dealer Kawanoe Tasuku and teachers aide Kawanoe Ming. 3 outsiders and freaks who strive to supposedly “protect” others from unavoidable realities under a supposed “family” of the same name. Despite the catchphrase “You WILL remember our name!” It is clear that concealed under their presumable abused label hides something more important…______________________________________ Bio #1 - Sanyu Inouye ______________________________________ Sanyu Inouye [known as “Harleen”/“MC Rogue”] is a downtown circus performer and former experiment of Chuohku. A woman who loathes the concept of normal and fights to regain a better life off the radar. Having enough of such harsh treatments from Chuohku, multiple crimes from her have been committed. Maybe her “MIHANASA” acts as her little sanctuary of freedom, however such practices are scarred to her own grave. ______________________________________ [Crimes] - 1st Degree Murder [Multiple Counts] - Theft [Multiple Counts] - Gang Activity [Multiple Counts] ______________________________________ Bio #2 - Tasuku Kawanoe ______________________________________ Tasuku Kawanoe [known as “Fukuoka’s One Eyed Bastard”/“Katame”] is a casino card dealer in downtown Fukuoka. A man who despises both fate and destiny who also takes part in uniting the MIHANASA. Deciding against family matters and relations, few crimes from him have been committed. The cards may hold most presumable answers in this reality, though the upper hand isn’t always as innocent as you think. ______________________________________ [Crimes] - Gambling [Multiple Counts] ______________________________________ Bio #3 - Ming Kawanoe ______________________________________ Ming Kawanoe [known as “Miss Ming”] is a teachers aide in uptown Fukuoka. A woman whose hatred for her parents only grows and also takes part in helping the MIHANASA. Similarly to her older brother, few however more nutritious crimes from her have been committed. Surely teachers are mostly trustworthy people in this world, although it isn’t always the case in some circumstances. ______________________________________ [Crimes] - Attempted Murder - Cursing ______________________________________ Entry #2 - The Stella Maris ______________________________________ The Stella Maris are a group of underground criminals stationed as “theatric individuals” in Kumamoto Division. Day 16 of 31 of Kinktober
Prompt: Possessive
Word Count: 1267
Why does L always get to hang out with Light? Why does L always have to be on Light and Misa's dates? Since when is Light L's boyfriend??
She knew what was going on.  Day in and day out, she sat off to the corner with her face buried in a magazine or her phone.  But she knew what was happening.  She saw how close Light and L were.  She saw how they interacted, how Light’s eyes lit up every time L praised one of his deductions, how L’s breathing hitched a little when Light would get close.  But she was so blissfully unaware.  Because where Misa held her jealousy of L close to her heart right next to Light, she wasn’t the only one harboring that green monster.
L saw the way Light was with Misa.  Casual, but still in love with her.  Quiet, but no words needed to be said.  There was a connection with Light and Misa that L knew he would never have.  But he also wasn’t entirely blind to Misa’s jealousy.  He got off on it.  And he made sure she was watching whenever he would get a little close with Light.  Every time he’d brush against him, Misa’s eyes turned red.  Every time L would roll his chair just a little too hard and bump into Light, Misa glared daggers in his direction.  And he loved every second of it.  Because L knew Light would drop Misa in a heartbeat to be with him.  Or at least he hoped so.
And it would all come to a head one evening after everyone else had gone home for the evening…
“Well,” Misa sighed out, loud enough to get Light’s…and L’s…attention, “It’s getting pretty late.  I think I’m going to turn in.”
“Good to know, Misa,” L brushed her off, “Good night.  Now, Light, weren’t you saying something relevant?”
“Light…” Pure seduction dripped from Misa’s voice, “I have a cute pajama set from my last photoshoot.  You should come upstairs to see it.”
“I’ll be up in a little while, Misa,” Light promised, “But we really need to get this-”
“Come on, Light,” Misa whined, “Don’t you want to see me being all cute for you?”
“He said he was busy, Misa,” L reminded her, “Go on.  Didn’t you say it was getting late?  I’m sure you have things to do tomorrow.”
“Alright, that’s it,” Misa snapped, getting in L’s face, “What the fuck do you think you’re doing?”
“Misa, what the hell?” Light pulled her back while L remained unfazed.
“I’m not doing anything,” L bit the inside of his cheek, his face begging him to flash a little smirk Misa’s way.  But he couldn’t do that.  Let’s see just how riled up we can get you before Light gets completely repulsed and leaves you.  And where would that send him?  Into the comforting arms of a friend.  You know…Like me.
“No, no, no,” Misa escaped Light’s grasp, her finger hardly an inch away from the end of L’s nose, “Don’t give me that bullshit.  Because I know your game.”
“I doubt it,” L shrugged, backing away from her.  Not necessarily out of fear.  Mostly out of her disregard for L’s personal space, “But please, Misa.  Do go on.  Tell me what I’m doing.”
“You think I don’t see the way you are with Light?” Misa growled, “That’s not your toy to play with.  That’s mine.  And I think it’s time someone reminded you.”
“Wait, what?” Light shot confused glances in both Misa’s and L’s directions.
“I’m not doing anything like that,” L lied through his teeth.  It seems like your insecurities are creeping in, Misa.  Good.  Let them wear you down.
“Again, you fucking liar!” Misa squealed, “You and I both know you’re trying to get in Light’s pants worse than I am!”
“What’s the matter, Misa?” L taunted her a little more, “Afraid you’d end up with my sloppy seconds?”
“I’M NOT GETTING YOUR SLOPPY FUCKING SECONDS!” Misa could be heard for miles around.  Her blood was on a high boil and if she got any closer to L, she’d kill him with her bare hands.
“What are you two talking-”
“Shut up, Light,” Misa and L shot him down.
“You know, Misa,” L settled her, “I think I have a solution to this problem.”
“Oh, yeah?” Misa sat down, the fire in her eyes raging big and bright, “Dazzle me.”
“You want Light, correct?”
“Duh,” Misa rolled her eyes, “He is my boyfriend.”
“Well,” L went on, “How about we share?  You get Light on Wednesdays and every other weekend.  The rest of the time, he’s mine.”
“Wait a sec,” Light stepped in, “Don’t I get-”
“Light, sweetheart,” L hushed him, “The grown ups are talking.  What say you, Misa?  Can you agree to these terms?”
“Can you agree to sucking my twat?” Misa scoffed, “I’m not just letting you have Light.”
“You’d still have Light,” L reiterated, “Just on Wednesdays and every other weekend.”
“But that means you getting him the rest of the time!” Misa pouted, “No way!  Make me a better offer.”
“At this point,” Light sighed out, “If it’s going to be this much of a mess, I’d rather not be with either one of you.”
“You’re losing your say here, Light,” L pointed out, “But bless you for being here.  That’s my offer, Misa.”
“Hold on,” Misa thought it over for a moment or two, “You know, Ryuzaki…You’re kind of cute, too.”
And immediately, L froze, “Where are you going with this, Misa?”
“I’m saying,” Misa went on, “Maybe we can make this work to our advantage.  A way I could still have Light, but you could…maybe have Light a little.”
“Can Light say something?” Light chimed in.
“Not right now, sweetie,” Misa stopped him.
“Are you suggesting…” L looked Light over like a piece of prime cut, “We don’t just share him on the proposed schedule, but…All the time?”
“Sort of,” Misa nodded, “I’m thinking we need something to settle all of our curiosities.  Would that be alright with you?”
“Only if I’m hearing this correctly,” L asked, “Are you saying both you and I go take Light upstairs and dominate him?”
“Ooh!” Misa smiled, “That sounds like fun.  Besides, I’m sure Light’s not the only one who gets squealy in bed.”
“Misa,” L thought, “Would you be interested in harnessing up?”
“You act like I wouldn’t do that without you!” Misa chirped, “Do you think you two could put the work down for the rest of the night and come up to my room?”
“Both of you, let me talk!” Light stood up, “If we’re going to arrange a threesome, don’t you think the third should say something?”
“You think I don’t know the way you look at me, Light?” L cradled Light’s cheek in his palm, earning a hard swallow from Light, “Even now, you’re blushing from my touch.  It’s cute, isn’t it, Misa?”
“Mmhmm,” Misa wrapped herself around Light’s waist, “Come on, Light.  You wouldn’t want to disappoint both of us, would you?”
Light knew he was going to regret it.  But at the same time, his fantasies were running loose, “Well…No…But…”
“But nothing,” L pressed a kiss to Light’s cheek, “Because tonight, Light…You’re not Misa’s.  You’re not mine.  You’re ours.”
“Should we head upstairs then?” Misa asked.
“We’ll meet you upstairs,” L nudged her along.  Once Misa was out of earshot, Light started walking up the stairs.  Until L grabbed a fistful of the back of Light’s shirt, “Light…”
“I know, I know,” Light settled him, a little smirk making its way onto his face, “I know who I belong to.  We’re just throwing her a bone.”
“Yes, we are,” L purred in Light’s ear, “You’re.  Mine.”
