September 23 - Candle | @into-the-jeggyverse | wc: 735
“Merlin, do you have enough candles?” James asks, walking into the bathroom while Regulus preps for his ‘me night bath’ that Regulus tries to have once a month. Regulus is currently leaning over the tub, placing the tenth lit candle that James can see, three more sitting on the counter waiting to be lit. Next to the candles is a jar of dried rose petals that Regulus collected from the last time that James bought him roses, a bathbomb, and a tray with a book sitting on top of it.
Regulus looks up at them from where he’s kneeling over the tub, giving them a glare, “It’s mood lighting, Jamie, something that you wouldn’t know about.”
“Oh, my apologies, your majesty.” They walk over to him and lean over, pressing a kiss to his temple, “Would you like me to make you some tea so you don’t have to worry about the water getting cold or your tea getting cold?”
“Mhm,” Regulus nods, “That would be wonderful.”
“I’ll get the water boiling right now,” James smiles, standing back up straight and walking out of the bathroom.
When they do finish with the tea, they bring it back up to the bathroom where they find Regulus just getting into the water. The lights have been turned off and James can see steam from the pure heat of the water that Regulus is getting into, a layer of rose petals floating around and a bathbomb starting to fizz at the other end of the bathtub. When he’s settled he looks up at his partner, “Can you put my tray over the bath?” James smiles and goes over to place the mug of tea down before bringing the tray to Regulus, following it shortly with the tea. Regulus smiles at him lovingly, “Thank you Jamie. Would you join me?”
James hums and reaches down to run their hand through his hair, “Let me go get myself something to drink and I'll join you.” Regulus nods and watches James leave. When they come back to the bathroom, Regulus has his head dropped back against the wall, the book on the tray forgotten temporarily. James is quick to get undressed and gently move the tray further down the bathtub, putting their own tea on it, then sliding into the bath just behind Regulus. The younger hums once James is settled and has Regulus fully settling against their chest, his head now falling back onto their shoulder.
James smiles gently at their husband, starting to work their hands over Regulus’ body in a gentle massage, “Pull the tray closer to us, baby, you don’t want your tea to get cold.” Regulus nods and cracks an eye open to do as James requested, taking a sip from his mug before going back to laying against James with his eyes closed.
He lets James do what they wish, running their hands through his hair, gently tracing over his muscles, bringing his mug to his lips to drink, lathering his hair with shampoo and conditioner in the way that they know Regulus likes.
As James is gently scratching at his scalp while washing the shampoo out of his hair, he hums, “You’re horrible for my reading.”
“You were the one that invited me in here.” “And I regret that.”
“I can leave.”
“No. Keep going,” Regulus hums. James laughs gently but finishes washing his hair and starts lathering soap and a washcloth over the younger’s body, passively talking about whatever comes to mind to fill the silence -- they can’t handle silence and Regulus has admitted a couple times that he adores listening to James rambling. They take a while to finish up with the bath, before the water gets cold and they’re helping Regulus get out of the bath, handing him his towel while they set to work on draining the tub and cleaning out the rose petals and whatever is left from the bathbomb.
After all is said and done, the book put back on Regulus’ nightstand, the mugs sitting in the sink, Regulus lying down and ready for a nap, and the candles snuffed, James changes into comfortable clothes and settles down in the bed with their husband, “How was your ‘me night’?”
Regulus hums, “Wonderful, thank you Jamie.”
“I did nothing,” James smiles, shaking their head, “That was all the candles.” Following that with a laugh when Regulus kicks their shin.

||COUNTDOWN ||SEASON 2 EPISODE 09 ||JE SUIS PREST ||
#83daysofoutlander☆
The men sat around the fire after their supper, lazily enjoying the feeling of full stomachs, exchanging stories and scratching.[..]
I was still standing by the fire, frozen in my original position, when Jamie reemerged from the Stygian dark of the forest, a captive before him, one arm twisted behind its back. Loosing his grip, he whirled the dark figure around and gave it an abrupt shove that sent it crashing backward into a tree. The man hit the trunk hard, loosing a shower of leaves and acorns, and slid slowly down to lie dazed in the leaf-meal. Attracted by the noise, Murtagh, Ross, and a couple of the other Fraser men materialized by the fire. Hauling the intruder to his feet, they pulled him roughly into the circle of firelight. Murtagh grabbed the captive by the hair and jerked his head backward, bringing his face into view. It was a small, fine-boned face, with big, long-lashed eyes that blinked dazedly at the crowding faces. “But he’s only a boy!” I exclaimed. “He can’t be more than fifteen!” “Sixteen!” said the boy. He shook his head, senses returning. “Not that that makes any difference,” he added haughtily, in an English accent. Hampshire, I thought. He was a long way from home. “It doesn’t,” Jamie grimly agreed. “Sixteen or sixty, he’s just made a verra creditable attempt at cutting my throat.” I noticed then the reddened handkerchief pressed against the side of his neck. “I shan’t tell you anything,” the boy said. His eyes were dark pools in the pale face, though the firelight shone on the gleam of fair hair. He was clutching one arm tightly in front of him; I thought perhaps it was injured. The boy was clearly making a major effort to stand upright among the men, lips compressed against any wayward expression of fear or pain.
“Some things you don’t need to tell me,” said Jamie, looking the lad over carefully. “One, you’re an Englishman, so likely you’ve come with troops nearby. And two, you’re alone.” The boy seemed startled. “How do you know that?” Jamie raised his eyebrows. “I suppose that ye’d not have attacked me unless you thought that the lady and I were alone. If you were with someone else who also thought that, they would presumably have come to your assistance just now—is your arm broken, by the way? I thought I felt something snap. If you were with someone else who knew we were not alone, they would ha’ stopped ye from trying anything so foolish.” Despite this diagnosis, I noticed three of the men fade discreetly into the forest in response to a signal from Jamie, presumably to check for other intruders. The boy’s expression hardened at hearing his act described as foolish. Jamie dabbed at his neck, then inspected the handkerchief critically. “If you’re tryin’ to kill someone from behind, laddie, pick a man who’s not sitting in a pile of dry leaves,” he advised. “And if you’re using a knife on someone larger than you, pick a surer spot; throat-cutting’s chancy unless your victim will sit still for ye.”
“Thank you for the valuable advice,” the boy sneered. He was doing a fair job at maintaining his bravado, though his eyes flicked nervously from one threatening, whiskered face to another. None of the Highlanders would have won any beauty prizes in broad daylight; by night, they weren’t the sort of thing you wanted to meet in a dark place. Jamie answered courteously, “You’re quite welcome. It’s unfortunate that ye won’t get the chance to apply it in future. Why did you attack me, since I think to ask?” Men, attracted by the noise, had begun filtering in from the surrounding campsites, sliding wraithlike out of the woods. The boy’s glance flickered around the growing circle of men, resting at length on me. He hesitated for a moment, but answered, “I was hoping to release the lady from your custody.” A small stir of suppressed amusement ran around the circle, only to be quelled by a brief gesture from Jamie. “I see,” he said noncommittally. “You heard us talking and determined that the lady is English and well-born. Whereas I—” “Whereas you, sir, are a conscienceless outlaw, with a reputation for thievery and violence! Your face and description are on broadsheets throughout Hampshire and Sussex! I recognized you at once; you’re a rebel and an unprincipled voluptuary!” the boy burst out hotly, face stained a deeper red even than the firelight.[...]
“Aye, well, I’m afraid that I’m no prepared to kill ye—just yet.” Jamie’s voice was soft, filled with a quiet menace all the more frightening for its control. “Who d’ye march with?” The question snapped like a whip, making its hearers flinch. The knife point hovered slightly nearer, smoking in the night wind. “I’ll—I’ll not tell you!” The boy’s lips closed tight on the stammered answer, and a tremor ran down the delicate throat. “Nor how far away your comrades lie? Nor their number? Nor their direction of march?” The questions were put lightly again, with a finicking touch of the blade along the edge of the boy’s jaw. His eyes showed white all around, like a panicked horse, but he shook his head violently, making the golden hair fly. Ross and Kincaid tightened their grip against the pull of the boy’s arms. The darkened blade pressed suddenly flat along its length, hard under the angle of the jaw. There was a thin and breathy scream, and the stink of burning skin. “Jamie!” I said, shocked beyond bearing. He did not turn to look at me, but kept his eyes fixed on his prisoner, who, released from the grip on his arms, had sunk to his knees in the drift of dead leaves, hand clutched to his neck. “This is no concern of yours, Madam,” he said between his teeth. Reaching down, he grabbed the boy by the shirtfront and jerked him to his feet. Wavering, the knife blade rose between them, and poised itself just under the lad’s left eye. Jamie tilted his head in silent question, to receive a minimal but definite negative shake in return. The boy’s voice was no more than a shaky whisper; he had to clear his throat to make himself heard. “N-no,” he said. “No. There is nothing you can do to me that will make me tell you anything.” Jamie held him for a moment longer, eye to eye, then let go of the bunched fabric and stepped back. “No,” he said slowly, “I dinna suppose there is. Not to you. But what about the lady?”[...]
“You may be indifferent to your own welfare, but ye might perhaps have some concern for the lady’s honor, since you were at such pains to rescue her.” Turning me toward himself, he twined his fingers in my hair, forced my head back and kissed me with a deliberate brutality that made me squirm involuntarily in protest.[...]Freeing my hair, he pulled me hard against him, facing the boy on the other side of the fire. The boy’s eyes were enormous, aghast with reflections of flame in the wide dark pupils. “Let her go!” he demanded hoarsely. “What are you proposing to do with her?” Jamie’s hands reached to the neck of my gown. With a sudden jerk, he tore the fabric of gown and shift, baring most of my bosom. Reacting instinctively, I kicked him in the shin. The boy made an inarticulate sound and jerked forward, but was stopped short once more by Ross and Kincaid.“Stop it!” The boy’s voice was trembling, but with outrage now rather than fear. “You—you unspeakable poltroon! How dare you dishonor a lady, you Scottish jackal!” He stood for a moment, chest heaving with emotion, then made up his mind. He raised his jaw and thrust out his chin. “Very well. I do not see that in honor I have any choice. Release the lady and I will tell you what you want to know.”
Face like stone, the boy gave the required information, speaking in brief syllables. His name was William Grey, second son of Viscount Melton. He accompanied a troop of two hundred men, traveling to Dunbar, intending to join there with General Cope’s army. His fellows were presently encamped some three miles to the west. He, William, out walking through the forest, had seen the light of our fire, and come to investigate. No, he had no companion with him. Yes, the troop carried heavy armament, sixteen carriage-mounted “galloper” cannon, and two sixteen-inch mortars. Most of the troop were armed with muskets, and there was one company of thirty horse.[...] He turned back to the prisoner, busying himself in checking the priming and loading of the pistol. The twelve inches of heart-butted metal gleamed dark, the firelight picking out sparks of silver at trigger and priming pin. “Head or heart?” Jamie asked casually, raising his head at last. “Eh?” The boy’s mouth hung open in blank incomprehension. “I am going to shoot you,” Jamie explained patiently. “Spies are usually hanged, but in consideration of your gallantry, I am willing to give you a quick, clean death. Do ye prefer to take the ball in the head, or the heart?” The boy straightened quickly, squaring his shoulders. “Oh, ah, yes, of course.” He licked his lips and swallowed. “I think … in the—in the heart. Thank you,” he added, as an obvious afterthought. He raised his chin, compressing lips that still held a suggestion of their soft, childish curve. Nodding, Jamie cocked the pistol with a click that echoed in the silence under the oak trees. “Wait!” said the prisoner. Jamie looked at him inquiringly, pistol leveled at the thin chest. “What assurance have I that the lady will remain unmolested after I am—after I have gone?” the boy demanded, looking belligerently around the circle of men. His single working hand was clenched hard, but shook nonetheless. Ross made a sound which he skillfully converted into a sneeze.
Jamie lowered the pistol, and with an iron control, kept his face carefully composed in an expression of solemn gravity. “Weel,” he said, the Scots accent growing broader under the strain, “ye ha’ my own word, of course, though I quite see that ye might have some hesitation in accepting the word of a …”—his lip twitched despite himself—“of a Scottish poltroon. Perhaps ye would accept the assurances of the lady herself?” He raised an eyebrow in my direction and Kincaid sprang at once to free me, fumbling awkwardly with the gag. “Jamie!” I exclaimed furiously, mouth freed at last. “This is unconscionable! How could you do such a thing? You—you—”[...]
“James Fraser,” I hissed between clenched teeth. “If you touch that boy, you’ll certainly never share my bed again!” Jamie raised one eyebrow. His canines gleamed briefly in the firelight. “Well, that’s a serious threat, to an unprincipled voluptuary such as myself, but I dinna suppose I can consider my own interests in such a situation. War’s war, after all.” The pistol, which had been allowed to fall, began to rise once more. “Jamie!” I screamed. He lowered the pistol again, and turned to me with an expression of exaggerated patience. “Yes?” I took a deep breath, to keep my voice from shaking with rage. I could only guess what he was up to, and hoped I was doing the right thing. Right or not, when this was over … I choked off an intensely pleasing vision of Jamie writhing on the ground with my foot on his Adam’s apple, in order to concentrate on my present role. “You haven’t any evidence whatever that he’s a spy,” I said. “He says he stumbled on you by accident. Who wouldn’t be curious if they saw a fire out in the woods?” Jamie nodded, following the argument. “Aye, and what about attempted murder? Spy or no, he tried to kill me, and admits as much.” He tenderly fingered the raw scratch at the side of his throat.
“Well, of course he did,” I said hotly. “He says he knew you were an outlaw. There’s a bloody price on your head, for heaven’s sake!” Jamie rubbed his chin dubiously, at last turning to the prisoner. “Well, it’s a point,” he said. “William Grey, your advocate makes a good case for ye. It’s no the policy either of His Highness Prince Charles or myself to execute persons unlawfully, enemy or no.” He summoned Kincaid with a wave of the hand. “Kincaid, you and Ross take this man in the direction he says his camp lies. If the information he gave us proves to be true, tie him to a tree a mile from the camp in the line of march. His friends will find him there tomorrow. If what he told us is not true …”—he paused, cold eyes bent on the prisoner—“cut his throat.” He looked the boy in the face and said, without a shadow of mockery, “I give you your life. I hope ye’ll use it well.”[...]
“I owe you my life,” he said formally. “I should greatly prefer not to, but since you have forced the gift upon me, I must regard it as a debt of honor. I shall hope to discharge that debt in the future, and once it is discharged …” The boy’s voice shook slightly with suppressed hatred, losing all its assumed formality in the utter sincerity of his feelings. “… I’ll kill you!”
Jamie rose from the log to his full height. His face was calm, free of any taint of amusement. He inclined his head gravely to his departing prisoner. “In that case, sir, I must hope that we do not meet again.” The boy straightened his shoulders and returned the bow stiffly. “A Grey does not forget an obligation, sir,” he said, and vanished into the darkness, Kincaid at his elbow. There was a discreet interval of breathless waiting, as the leaf-shuffling sounds of feet moved off through the darkness. Then the laughter started, first with a soft, fizzing noise through the nostrils of one man, then a tentative chuckle from another. Never raucous, still it gathered volume, spiraling round the circle of men.

BIRDS OF A FEATHER
- phoenix and her girlfriend set you up with a wso they insist will be right up your alley. (robert “bob” floyd x fem!reader, fluff, reader is meant to be similar to bob, ie quiet, sweet, and nerdy, mentions of being drunk/having sex but nothing explicit)
Tumblr media
word count: 2,003
a/n - this fic is parallel HEAVY, so don’t be surprised if you see the same phrase passed around. it’s truly a mindlink esque situation lol. and it’s 100% self-indulgent because the reader’s personality is so similar to mine (i am nothing if not a self caterer)
Tumblr media
“Nat, I’m really not sure.” Bob tries to protest. “You know I’m no good with dating and stuff. Who’s to say she’ll even like me?” Natasha pats him on the back, firmly enough for him to know she means it.
“You guys are birds of a feather. Trust me, she’ll like you.”
Tumblr media
“Jamie, I just don’t know.” You frown. She’s trying to set you up with her girlfriend’s friend, claiming that you’d be the perfect match, but you know you’re not the most amazing when it comes to meeting new people. You’re slightly awkward at best, socially anxious at worst. “He probably won’t like me. And if we’re really so similar, don’t you think it’ll be stiff and weird because neither of us can say the right, flirty thing?”
“You don’t need to be ‘flirty’ to have a good connection. Not every relationship is going to be like Natasha and I, all fire and flame. Sometimes it’s slow, and slow is good. It’s exactly what you need.” Jamie chides, putting a soothing arm around your shoulder. “Trust me. Birds of a feather, right?”
Tumblr media
You shift uncomfortably in the booth you’re sitting in, Jamie’s hand rubbing the side of your arm comfortingly. It’s ten minutes before your supposed double date, and Natasha affirms that it’s about five minutes before he shows up. “Bob’s always early,” she stated, “so we can be even earlier to give you some prep time.”
You’re quiet. Shy, even, and you don’t have the best track record with social events. You’ve never really had a date that understood why you don’t want to get roaringly drunk and have sex in a bathroom and whatnot. The two girls, one in front of you and one by your side, have assured you that Bob will be different. He’s quiet too, but he stands up for himself. He’s strong and capable, with a humble attitude and the slight southern charm that you can bring home to your parents. If he’s really so great, though, what the hell is he doing going out with you?
Bob can see your booth through the door of the diner, and he steels his nerves quietly. He’s got this. He’ll make it a nice dinner, a nice experience, and he will not, under any circumstances, fuck it up. He owes you that much. He knows he’s probably not what you want in a guy. Natasha described you as hardworking, kind, and a good listener. He can’t help but think that you deserve much better than him.
He takes a breath and pushes open the door, the flowers in his other hand a little damp from his sweaty palms.
When he finally rounds the server stand, he can see you. And you’re the most beautiful woman he’s ever had the pleasure of setting sights on.
He’s royally fucked, he thinks.
Oh my god, he’s so hot. You smile at him and curse a bit under your breath, careful to not let anyone hear. He’s everything you imagined and more, with sandy colored hair, bright blue eyes, and glasses that look like they’re just a little crooked. If you were bold, you’d reach across the table and fix them as he sat down. You’re not, though, so you just fidget with your hands under the hard wood.
He clears his throat and hands you a small bouquet of daises, sliding into the spot across from you. Nat gives a little self-satisfied smile from next to him. “Hi. I didn’t know what you liked, so I hope that’s okay. I’m- I’m Robert by the way, or Bob, whatever you prefer.”
You think your cheeks will split open from how hard you’re smiling. It’s such a small gesture, but the blush on his cheeks tells you that it’s earnest. “They’re perfect. Thank you, Bob.” You introduce yourself with the next breath, and he shakes your hand like it’s a business meeting. His palms are warm and just a little bit damp, but when his fingers curl around your own like they were meant to fit together, you couldn’t care less. “So,” you begin, somewhat shyly, “you’re Natasha’s WSO?”
When Bob hears your quiet voice, he knows he’s in deep. “Yeah. She’s a great pilot.” His praise earns him an elbow from Natasha, a silent ‘talk about yourself, dipshit’ evident in the action. He smiles nervously. “We do a lot of the weapons bits so the pilots can fly safely. How about you, what do you do?”
“It’s not as important and exciting as your job, that’s for sure.” You laugh before explaining exactly what you do.
“Honestly, that is important and exciting. I’m sure you excel at it, too,” Bob offers, somewhat bashfully. What makes your head spin is that he seems like he means it. He’s sincere, wonderfully so.
As that statement quirks the corners of your mouth up, Bob’s heart explodes. You’re charming and beautifully sweet, with a pretty smile and dashing eyes to boot.
Jamie enters your conversation carefully, like she wants to help but isn’t forcing anything. Natasha pipes in a few times, but overwhelmingly, it’s you and Bob. Neither of you have ever spoken so much in this type of setting before, and it’s great. You bounce ideas and jokes and quips off of each other like you were meant to. You feel like you were meant to, because everything just comes so easily with Robert Floyd. You’re finally talking to someone who understands every bit of you, polishing the hidden parts of yourself until they shine. You never thought you could feel this way with another person.
“Wait, have you read this book called For One More Day?” You ask, finding every opportunity to drag out a subject you enjoy so deeply. “It’s really sad, like a fictional memoir, but I think you’d enjoy it. The whole story is basically an ode to loving your parents while they’re still around.”
“I haven’t, but I’ll be sure to check it out the next time I go go the library.” Bob says, giving a slightly lopsided grin that makes your heart scream. “It seems right up my alley though. I like non fiction books, mostly, but I could go for a change every once and a while.”
Your food is almost forgotten in the midst of the conversation, and his is too. “When you do read fiction, what genres do you go for? I have a million recommendations, so help me narrow them down a bit.”
Bob will never admit this to his friends, but he’s an avid reader. He’s a sucker for a true story or anything about dogs, however, he’d read anything you could ever think to tell him about. He has already made a mental note to check out For One More Day and is currently making more notes as you list off more dog-central books. You, as you’ve told him, go for more of the fancy prose-d, heavy drama-d, and emotion-filled stories. It’s nice to see you like this, talking about something you’re honestly passionate about. The light in your eyes makes you look like a ray of sunshine.
Jamie grins at Natasha from across the table, utterly and unashamedly content that her plot has worked. Natasha rolls her eyes. “Alright, you two,” Nat says, “can we move on to something more exciting? Like planning a second date, maybe. One where Jamie and I can be happy at home while you two nerd out.”
Bob’s face reddens and you give a small, sheepish smile. “I’d like that.” You say.
“Me too.” Bob adds. Natasha can firmly say that she’s never seen him so happy, not even after a successful flight. It’s like he’s finally found the thing that made him tick, like you reached into his chest and wound up the gear box in his heart. “I’m free this Friday, if you’re up for it.”
You tap your fingers on the tabletop, thinking. “This Friday… this Friday is when I’m doing a book reading for the kids at our local library at lunchtime. We could have dinner after that, though.” You want to spend the entire day with him, but if a few hours is all you’re given, you’ll take it. You’d take anything.
Bob’s hands move to touch yours, just barely. His warmth radiates out, perfectly soothing your nerves. “If you want, I can make lunch and help you out at the book reading. I like those kinds of things, but I don’t want to impose.”
“You absolutely should.” You breathe. “You wouldn’t be imposing at all. In fact, I think the kids would really like it if Mr. Naval Aviator read a few books to them. You’d be like a superhero in their eyes.”
You’re a bit astounded by how much Bob’s face flushes. If you thought he was a bit pink before, he’s got a drunk man’s glow now. And you were being completely, one hundred percent honest when you said that the kids would like him. They’d love him. Micah’s father was in the Navy when he was younger, so there’s one connection, and April loves airplanes with a passion. It would be amazing.
“Then I’ll be there. Here’s my number, so you can text me when and where.” Bob slides a little piece of paper over to you, one that he must have written a bit ago, because his pen is securely clipped to his pocket. He likes you so much he wrote down his number while you were (probably) explaining your love for reading, or crafts, or small animals? You’re going to swoon if he keeps this up.
Natasha eyes where your hand is touching Bob’s. “Sounds like you’ve got it all figured out. Now eat your food.” She gestures to your half-touched plates. You and Bob both stutter a little, completely having forgotten what you’re going to have to pay for.
The rest of the evening goes amazingly. You talk about so many subjects that by the end of the day, when the sun is slipping below the horizon, you feel like you’re floating on air— light and unburdened by the way you’ve been able to express yourself. Bob insisted on paying for your meal, and though you protested, a little part of you feels giddy that you’re worth spending money on. Bob walks you to your car, tucking your flowers into the cup holder between your seat and the passenger side.
“I really enjoyed that.” He muses. “I really enjoyed you. I thought Nat and Jamie were kinda full of it when they told me about this whole double date, but I’m glad they weren’t.”
“Me too, oh my gosh. I was totally expecting some stuck-up Navy nerd, but I’m glad it was you. I enjoy you too, Bob, probably way too much.” You’re standing by your door, but you feel like you can’t leave just yet.
He looks at you with something you hope to think is affection in his eyes before glancing down towards your lips. “I’ll let you get going. Text me anytime.”
You hesitate, staring up into his ocean blue eyes. Before you can stop yourself or tell yourself it’s a bad idea, you take the collar of his shirt in your hand and kiss him.
It feels right. His hand coming up to rest on your waist, his body pressed against yours as he stabilizes himself on your car, it’s everything you’ve always dreamed of. His lips work in tandem with your own, like they’re collaborating on some sort of secret mission, and he kisses you like he loves you.
His pupils are blown up and he’s panting just slightly when you pull away. He misses the feeling of your lips on his as soon as it ends, the tingling sensation working its way down his face. “T-Thank you…?” He whispers. You laugh, the sound music to his ears. He can hardly believe that that just happened.
“You’re welcome. I’ll see you later, yeah?”
“Definitely.“
You give him a small peck on the cheek and step into your car, so happy you think you could explode. As you pull out, and as he waves at you from the parking lot, you make an effort to remember to thank Jamie and Natasha.
Who would’ve thought that you really would be birds of a feather?

hi!! this is the same anon from earlier and i saw you wanted to write for james potter. and i’m so sorry if you’ve done something similar. so maybe after a quidditch match, win or loss, all james wants to do is lie and bed with reader and hug her. but they’re not dating and he ends up confessing too, still tired, he doesn’t even realize he’s admitted his feelings
thank you again for your time:))
-can i be ‘🎀 anon’? lolol
hi lovely 🎀! thanks for your sweet words and adorable requests 😊 i hope you like it!
pairing: James Potter x reader tags: fluffy fluff, some angst, gn reader if you want word count: 1.9k
Cuddles and Confessions
So close. So bloody close. And to bloody Slytherin to top it off? The defeat stung worse than any other James could remember.
As he lumbers back up toward the castle after the match, frustrated and furious, some Slytherin fans jeer at him from across the lawns. It pushes him over an edge, and he turns to — well, he’s not sure to what; berate them? beat them up? — a strong hand grabs his shoulder and turns him back around.
“Easy, mate. They’re idiots but they’re not worth it,” Sirius says easily. Sirius of all people being the voice of reason has James realizing maybe he needs to calm down.
James falling into step with Sirius without a word, the two make their way back up to the castle.
When they get to the common room, it’s packed with mad and sad-looking Gryffindors consoling each other, complaining about bad calls, bad-mouthing the Slytherins: a typical post-match defeat.
“Thank Godric,” Sirius sighs, heading immediately to a small table stacked with firewhisky. He grabs two glasses, but James stops him before he fills the second one.
“No thanks, mate. Don’t really feel like the company,” he says, scanning the room. He admits to himself there is one face that would have made him stay, one person whose company was actually the only thing he wanted right now. But he doesn’t see you. So he stalks off, bounding up the stairs to his currently empty dormitory.
He’s lying on his bed, tossing a ball up and down when he hears a soft knock.
“What?” he yells, the harshness of his voice even surprising him a bit. Surprise shifts to horror when your beautiful, blushing face peeks around the door.
“Hi, Jamie,” you say shyly. “I’m sorry. Sirius said you wanted to be alone. I should’ve listened. I didn’t mean to annoy you. I’ll just —”
“Wait, wait, wait,” he rushes, going over to you and pulling you into his room. “I’m so sorry, love. Please don’t go.”
You smile a bit at this, looking down at your feet before nodding slightly.
“Ugh, I’m a prick. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to snap at you.” His voice is soft now, warm and enveloping as you look into his pleading eyes.
“It’s okay,” you chuckle. “I get it. Rough night, huh?”
“Yeah,” he chuckles, smiling for the first time all day. You had a way of bringing that out in him.
“Want a hug?” you offer. He nods immediately, internally cringing for being so uncool in front of you.
“Yes please,” he half laughs.
You step close to him, and even this increased proximity has him reeling. He can’t wait to feel your warmth around him, to smell your hair as he nuzzles into you.
He’d been hoping to win tonight’s match for more reasons than one. He hated Slytherin for starters. He loved winning for seconds. But also, he had been hoping a Gryffindor victory party could be the perfect place to finally tell you how he feels about you. Firewhisky flowing, adrenaline pumping, maybe he’d finally have the courage he was supposed to have as a Gryffindor and tell you the truth.
You bring your arms up around his shoulders, pulling him close to you, bringing one hand to his messy hair and scratching comfortingly. James’s large body immediately melts into yours. He hums into the crook of your neck, and you giggle.
“Thanks for coming to check on me,” he whispers into your shoulder, holding you close.
“Why would I want to be downstairs wallowing with everyone else when I could wallow with you?” you tease, pulling back slightly to be face to face again. He hates how much he just wants to pull you back into him.
“Oh, I’m much better company than those wankers,” he plays along.
“Yes, I’m sure. Seems you’re quite chipper from your greeting.”
He cringes and whispers “sorry” again. You shake your head quickly, wanting him to know you’re only teasing.
The silence stretches a bit too long, neither of you knowing what to say. It’s especially awkward because your hands are still on his shoulders, his on your hips.
“So what were you doing?” you ask, coming up with nothing better.
“Just lying in bed, wallowing,” he confesses.
“Sounds fun,” you chuckle. You break apart from him, the tension becoming too much and head over to his bed, plopping down onto it. He laughs and follows, sitting close next to you. “What do you want to do?” you ask, your voice low. “I came to cheer you up, but I think I’m doing a bang up job so far,” you chuckle, scrunching your nose.
Before thinking about it, James brings his hand up to your face, lightly tracing his finger down your nose for you to relax it.
“You’re not,” he says earnestly. “I’m already better, just having you here.” He thinks he feels your face warm where his hand still caresses it but pushes the idea down, not wanting it to be wishful thinking.
“So what do you want to do?” you ask again gently.
“Honestly?” he asks shyly. Nervous was a weird look on him, usually so cocky.
“Of course,” you giggle in your warmest tones, wanting him to be open with you, relishing in the intimacy you seemed to be building.
“I want to keep lying in bed wallowing.”
You stiffen immediately, chiding yourself for misreading his nerves. He wanted you to leave; that’s why he seemed shy.
James sees — and feels — you tense at his words, and luckily for him, he realizes right away what you’re probably thinking. He continues before he can stop himself, dreading your leaving more than dreading saying something stupid.
“With you,” he adds hastily. He feels himself blush, hates it, but pushes on. “I want to lie in bed and wallow… with you,” he repeats more softly.
“Oh,” is all you can think to respond.
“I mean, just hang out, you know. I just… you just… I just like hanging out with you. And even just your hug made me feel better,” he rambles sweetly.
You smile and pull away from him a bit. Before he can be disappointed, though, you’re pulling him with you as you shuffle further back onto the bed, lying down and bringing him horizontal with you by the shoulder.
You’re lying next to each other, both tense, facing the ceiling, your sides grazing but nothing more. You look over at him, and he looks at you, and you both look away like idiots.
You take a deep breath, reminding yourself he literally just told you he wanted to be here with you, clinging to that to give you the courage for what you were about to do. You turn toward him and bring your hand up to his hair. His eyes snap to yours. First they show shock but that quickly melts to adoration. Then they show nothing at all as they close in comforted bliss. You chuckle softly and see the corners of his mouth tug up at the sound.
“Feels nice,” he whispers.
“Yeah?” you whisper too. He just nods.
You shuffle closer to him, and he turns his body towards yours. Your arm is cramped now between your two close bodies, so you do the reasonable thing for comfort, you tell yourself, and wrap your arm under his shoulders. His face coming to the crook of your neck, you miss the huge smile that breaks out on it at the contact.
He’s lying on your shoulder now, the rest of his body flush with yours. Your arm is around him, your hand coming up to continue playing with his hair. James brings his arm over you, hugging you close, and you place your arm on top of his.
It crosses James’s mind that friends don’t cuddle. But he stops his internal monologue in time to savour the moment rather than over-analyse it, which he’s bound to do later.
You just lie there in silence for  a bit, the tension having eased considerably.
In your warm, comfortable cocoon, you bring your face closer to the top of his head on your shoulder and nuzzle him a bit. He just hums in response.
“You’re comfy,” he says. It sounds muffled, his mouth squished against your shoulder. You laugh, and it shakes him up and down the slightest bit.
James loves the feeling of your vibrating chest just below him. He can’t help himself and tickles you where his hand rests near your ribcage. You laugh louder. You hold down his arm to stop him and playfully shake him off a bit to protect yourself from more tickling. His grip tightens in response, and he’s almost on top of you by the time he’s done adjusting himself.
“No, no, don’t go,” he chuckles. “I’ll stop.”
Your laughter has mostly subsided, but your voice is raspy as you respond, “Promise?” He nods into your shoulder. “Fine. I’ll stay if you behave.”
He laughs, squeezes you, whispers, “Promise.”
Any tension that had been left has dissipated completely, and you fall into easy chat as you hold each other close. Your hand continues playing with his hair, tugging it when he says something stupid. His arm draped over you occasionally squeezing you more tightly whenever either of you says something nice. You go over the highlights of the match, lamenting the result. Without realizing it, you start talking about any and everything else, and by the time the conversation lulls for the first time, both of you chuckling lightly, James wonder how much time has gone by. Not enough, he thinks to himself, wishing this would go on forever.
The quiet, your hand in his hair, your warmth radiating around his body, it all soothes him into a half slumber. It washes over him how exhausted his body is from the match, how tense it had been from the fury at its result.
“This is nice,” he slurs.
“Mmhmm,” you hum.
“I’m not even mad anymore.” He sounds astounded even in his sleepy tones. You chuckle.
“Good.”
“Mmmm. We’ll prank the Slytherins tomorrow. And I’ll think of another time to tell you how I feel.” Your hand halts its motions. James is still completely relaxed, and you realize he’s pretty much half asleep, not truly realizing what he’s saying.
You don’t want to take advantage of him in this state, but you want to be honest with him too, and he clearly wanted to talk to you about whatever this was.
So, you warmly whisper, “How do you feel, Jamie?”
“I love you,” he mumbles. You’re melting at his words, and you can’t wait till tomorrow to say them back. You shift your weight so you’re more facing James than under him, and this rattles him a bit more awake. His drowsy eyes are heavy initially but then they startle slightly. Before he can worry or regret, you hold his face gently in both your hands, your thumbs caressing his cheeks.
“James…” He just looks deeply into your eyes, his eyebrows furrowed, not saying anything. “I love you, too.”
His face shifts as if in slow motion. His eyebrows rise; his lips smile widely; his eyes crinkle.
“You love me?” He sounds equal parts giddy and disbelieving.
“Yeah, I love you, you grump.” He chuckles. “You love me?” you echo.
He takes his time responding. Scanning your features adoringly. Eventually, finally, calmly and assuredly he says again, “I love you,” nodding as he closes the little distance between you.
Your kiss is slightly awkward at first, your lips smiling automatically at his words before realizing they’re being called on to take on new, intoxicating shapes.

Platonic dynamics I want to see more in the (tiny) Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons fandom:
Jack being like an older brother to Hiccup and sort of seeing an older version of Jamie in him and not scoffing at how nerdy he is ("holy crap you MADE this? Man show me how it works!!")
Rapunzel post-her-movie being all gung-ho and cheery, and Merida trying to get her to stop being so naïve, only for Rapunzel to calmly list all the ways she was betrayed and abused throughout her adventures (and you'd only have to go through the canon events of the movie and show to make this work, btw, girl's been through STUFF) and tells Merida she is upbeat and kind because she chooses to believe that most people are good, because so many people stuck with her through so much and so many people came back to her after betraying her. And Merida is like "well dang ok, wanna learn to shoot a bow"
Jack being calm, responsible, and protective of the others without becoming too angsty in the process- playing harmless little pranks to bring everyone's spirits up, that sort of thing
Merida being annoyed by Jack at first, but it's because she misses her brothers, not because she categorically dislikes the pranks. She tells Jack this and he asks her to join him doing pranks. She has much more fun after this.
Rapunzel is good at many things, but not so much inventing, as we see in TTS; her trying to assist Hiccup and him being good-natured about it but entirely accidentally outclassing her
Jack very deliberately keeping his past and loneliness to himself, and the others figuring out something's off because they never catch him sleeping, he's pensive when he's not interacting with them, he's got such wide and extensive experience, and he starts admitting bits and pieces like "I'm older than I look" etc etc
Jack never openly getting angry with the kids because they're kids and he's a Guardian, so instead when one of them is upset or trying to pick a fight with him, his staff will glow brighter or it'll get cloudier or windier or snowier- his magic responds, but Jack refuses to, making his calm all the more scary.
Jack being the first to realize Rapunzel has been through Stuff and sitting down with her when the other two are asleep "what happened to you?" entirely gently and patiently because HE'S A GOOD BIG BROTHER DANGIT I WANT THIS SIDE OF HIM TO SHOW MORE-
Hiccup worrying/getting upset/doing that I Have To Stand Alone thing and Rapunzel approaching him like "you're not the only one who grew up alone, you know. It's okay to rely on us, we won't let you down"
Hiccup doing the I Have To Stand Alone thing in general cause I don't see that a lot in crossovers or at least the arts
The others finding Jack in weird places because super-balance go brr
Jack being reluctant to touch any of the kids for any reason because he doesn't want to see the way they treat him change once they realize how cold and inhuman he really is
Merida recognizing Jack immediately as the only other obviously competent fighter by the way he moves (she was raised around all manner of warriors and guards, after all) and immediately setting about allying herself with him because Heaven knows they all need as much protection as they can get
Merida helping Hiccup to have a moment like he has in the HTTYD books where he realizes he's actually a really amazing swordfighter when he actually uses his dominant hand
Hiccup and Rapunzel asking Merida and Jack what siblings are like
Jack just treating them all like his little siblings
Jack and Merida gathering ingredients together and, depending on the region, Jack teaching Merida the safe local vegetation and herbs because he's been everywhere. Also, Jack teaching the others how to cook with local ingredients
Jack knowing a lot about herbal medicine and helping and teaching the others
After much internal deliberation, Jack choosing Hiccup to hold his staff while he takes care of two-handed tasks
Jack knowing how to style hair because of Mary, and he and Merida helping Rapunzel tame her hair

Preferably part 2 of the other DBF! James writing, where it's like the morning now :3
DBF!James Potter x fem!reader
Warnings: Smut, Vaginal Penetration, Oral sex reader recieving, Handjob, unprotected sex, breeding kink, cockwarming
Smut under cut
James Potter was fucking hot in the morning, that was something you'd already guessed, but getting to see him in nothing but his boxers, his cock hard through them and his hair a mess... God, you wanted to wrap your lips around him so bad... But you didn't know if he'd like that, you didn't wanna push it, so you kissed him softly instead, rousing him with a smile as you passed over his glasses.
He put them on and looked at you, letting out a low groan as he shook his head, his eyes crinkling when he smiled.
"Good morning... You're a sight for sore eyes, Y/N." He looked down your body, hands reaching out to palm your breasts, one sliding down to feel the wetness between your thighs as you gasped, letting them fall open. "All of you." Fuck.
"Mmm... You've got a one-track mind in the morning." You murmured, palming his hard cock before you pulled his boxers down so you could wrap your fingers around it.
Fucking hell.
"Dreamt about fucking you." He kissed you deeply before batting your hand away. "Gotta make it a reality." He grunted, kissing down your body lazily before he spread your legs with ease, the feeling of his tongue on your cunt making your head spin as it fell back on the pillow.
He moaned at your taste, puling you closer and pawing at your skin as he drank you in, acting like he was famished, like you were bringing him back to life. You moaned out his name, bringing your further apart to give him more room to work with.
"Jamie... Fuck..." You gasped, throwing your head back as you stared at the ceiling, trying to regulate yourself but you found it impossible when he was eating you out like he was starving.
"Taste so fucking good..." He moaned, grinding his hips against the bed like he could hardly stand that he wasn't inside you right now... And honestly...
Why wasn't he?
"James..." You sighed, pushing his head back as he lifted it, giving you a wide grin, a cocky one that made your cunt throb, clenching around nothing.
He'd fix that, you were sure of it.
"What?" Please. "What is it, love."
"I need you inside me." His mouth dropped open as you nodded, pulling him up into a messy kiss, moaning as you tasted yourself on his tongue. "Now, James. Please." You breathed, and he nodded, pulling back.
"I'll get a condom-." You grabbed his wrist, pulling him back as you shook your head.
"No." You said firmly, and he stopped.
"No?" He asked, sounding doubtful as you nodded.
You didn't want him wearing one... If he wanted to, that was one thing. But if he was doing it out of obligation, he didn't have to.
"It's okay, I'm on birth control." You breathed, reaching down to stroke him as you spread his precum over his tip as he gasped, his head hanging down for a moment, glasses threatening to slip off his nose before you pushed them up again.
"I can still wear one-." You cut him off, pulling him closer. You didn't want him to wear one unless he absolutely wanted to, you wanted to feel his cum inside you.
"It's okay. If you want to you can, but I'm okay if you don't." You said, and he lifted his head, vision clouded as you cupped his balls for a moment while stroking a little more quickly, loving how he throbbed in your hand, thrusting into it.
It'd feel even better inside you.
"Promise?" He asked, and you felt your heart squeeze as you nodded, resting your forehead against his... yes, it should've been obvious that he would check, but most guys you'd been with hadn't bothered... It was nice.
"Promise." You leaned in, kissing the side of his neck. "I want to feel you inside me... I want you to cum inside me."
"Shit..." Oh, he loved that.
Good.
"I want you to breed me." You murmured, tugging on his hair as he let out a grunt, his large hands squeezing your hips as he pulled back, his eyes seeming hazy with lust, making you squeeze your thighs together.
Fuck.
"Don't talk like that, I think I'll fuck you so hard I break you." He warned, and you let out a shaky sigh, nodding as you cupped his face... That sounded fucking perfect, why were you not having that happen right now?
"That's exactly what I want." You reached down, jerking up and down his cock as you spoke. "Stretch me out, sir. I wanna be ruined by your cock." He moaned at that, thrusting into your touch.
"Fucking hell, Y/N." A hand found your shoulder and pushed you down, making you let out a quiet shriek as he shucked his boxers entirely, standing in front of you before he crawled back down, making you whimper. Perfection. "Spread your legs again." He instructed, and you did, watching him grip the base of his cock as he carefully slid it inside you, even just the head of it making you gasp.
Fuck, he was even bigger than he looked... Even bigger than he'd felt in your mouth and throat... This was gonna fucking ruin you.
"Oh... Fuck, you're massive." You grunted, your brain melting at the stretch that his cock provided. He looked down at you, clearly worried.
"I can slow down-." Nope.
"No! No, make me take you... Please..." You begged, and he still moved slowly, letting out a low moan as he did... God, you both needed this.
"Are you-." You wrapped a leg around his hips, forcing him deeper inside you as he gasped, his strong arms on either side of your head as you kissed at his chin. "Sure... Fucking shit..." He grunted, and your mouth hung open, relishing in how full you felt as you both soaked in the feel of each other.
But you needed more.
"Fuck me... Please." His eyes darkened as he pulled out, flipping you quickly onto your stomach before he roughly lifted your hips, thrusting back in to start his brutal pace. "Ah, fuck... Shitshitshit... Oh my god..." You whined, feeling him bend over you as he wrapped an arm around your stomach.
"Fuck, you feel so good." His teeth stung your shoulder as he bit down hard. "Mine." You nodded, grunts leaving you with each thrust... Fuck, this was gonna be the death of you. God help your second semester.
"Yours... Only yours." And you meant that... Fucking James Potter had ruined you for anyone else.
"Good girl." There was just one more thing you needed from him... Your orgasm was coming fast, but he could make it come even faster if he just fucking choked you.
Gotta ask.
"James... James... James..." You gasped, biting down on the blanket as you felt his hand smooth over your back, clasping your hair to pull you up.
"What, love?" Choke me.
"Choke me... Choke me..." You whimpered, and he paused for a moment, breathing heavily in your ear, his cock so deep inside you that if he wanted coherent thought out of you, he couldn't get it.
"You sure?" He asked, and you nodded.
You just knew his hand around your throat would be heaven.
"Yes." He wrapped a hand around your throat, squeezing hard enough to make your vision blur, and that was what you'd needed the most. "Oh fuckfuckfuck... I'm gonna cum... Jamie, I'm gonna cum." He let go.
Fuck.
"Cum on my cock... Cum all over my cock." He grunted, pulling your hair hard as you gasped, your head snapping up as everything released.
"Shit... Cumming! Cumming for you, oh my god." You whined, feeling yourself clench around him as you rode out his orgasm, James not slowing down for a second.
"Feels so good..." Good. "'m right behind you, love." Your eyes rolled back as you moaned, nodding.
You wanted to feel him cum inside you... You'd imagined it thousands of times, but you needed to feel it.
"Cum inside, please cum inside... Wanna be full, fill me up, Jamie! Make me take your cum! Please!" You cried, hearing him let out an animalistic grunt behind you as he grabbed your hips, holding them up as his pace increased, bringing tears to your eyes as you let out a relieved sigh at the feeling of him using you.
You'd dreamed about this for months, for years, wanting to know just how good being fucked senseless by Mr. Potter would feel... and it felt amazing.
He bent down, huffing in your ear as his pace became uneven.
"Mine. Mine. Fucking mine." He grunted, and you nodded, feeling like your brain could fall right out of your head. Your thighs trembled as you shook silently through another orgasm, waiting for him to join you.
"Please, Jamie. Please make me yours." You begged, reaching down to rub roughly on your own clit as he let out a gasp, his hands digging into your skin as he thrusted hard and fast for a moment before grunting, his cum filling you as you shuddered through your own orgasm, letting him work through his.
"Cumming... Fuck, I'm cumming." He gasped, pressing deep inside you for a long moment before he pulled out and laid down, pulling you into his arms. "You are... Amazing." He breathed, and you nodded, tucking your head against his chest as you traced over his muscles, blushing at the realization that it was his cum dripping down your leg.
God, you wanted him to fill you up all over again, as many times as he could manage before going back to Uni.
"Fuck, James." He kissed the side of your head. "God, that was so good." You breathed, feeling weak as you laid against him.
"You are so sexy, Y/N... You're gonna have to come home more." Huh?
"Why?" You asked, and he gave you a lazy, boyish grin before he sighed, tucking his free hand under his head.
"Because I wanna fuck you on ever surface of this fucking house as often as possible, and I can't do that when you're at University." Oh... God, well now you needed him again... But he needed to recover, so you resisted the urge to climb on top of him and grind on his abs... That could wait.
"You could visit." He let out a hearty laugh as you picked up your head to look at him.
"I'm old, what would your friends think?" He asked, and you chuckled, shaking your head as you placed a hand on his cheek, admiring the wisps of gray in his hair before you pulled him in for a long kiss, loving the way he groped your ass, your chest, roughly touching you before he let you go.
Right. Words.
"That I'm getting fucked stupid by a hot man..." He chuckled, shaking his head as you brought a hand down to lazily stroke his cock for a second, already half hard again as your mouth all but watered... You wanted him to fuck your throat again... And your cunt... and anything else he could possibly want, you wanted to give it all to him. "Trust me, you wouldn't see much of them." "You'd see a lot of me, bent over and ready to take you anywhere you want." You murmured, feeling his cock throb a bit against your hand before you pulled back, turning away from him as he let out an appreciative moan, groping at your ass before he slapped it hard just once, making you gasp as you bit back a moan, making a mental note to tell him to do that again.
"Shit." You smirked, clearing your throat as you spoke, not even bothering to look back at him.
"Plus, I think sitting on your cock while I did coursework would be a wonderful motivator." You murmured, and he let out a groan, wrapping is strong arms around you as you felt his cock, now fully hard again, pressing against your ass.
Fucking hell... You wanted it inside you again, but you knew he needed a minute, even if you just wanted to ride him.
"Fine, twist my arm... I'll visit." You smiled to yourself, wiggling your ass back against him.
"Perfect."
"Right now though... I don't wanna get up." You went to move, wanting to give him space before he pulled you back down, wrapping an arm around you. "And you shouldn't either." Demanding.
"Oh?" He gripped your hips and you felt his tip against your entrance before he slid easily in, making you gasp. Shit. "Oh... Fuck..." You breathed, your eyes rolling back at the feeling of being full all over again.
"Mhm." He pulled you closer, making you whimper as you felt him thrust even deeper, wiping your mind clean, the only thing on it was the feeling of him stretching you. "Stay... And once I'm ready again, I'll ruin you." He pressed a kiss to your shoulder. "Clear?" You nodded, mind dumb as you tried to move discreetly against him, but found no relief.
He was just tormenting you.
"Yes sir."

It was nearing one in the afternoon when you arrived at J Kelly Auto, a takeout bag in hand and a dumb smile on your face as you waved at one of the mechanics. You walk past the garage and pull open the door to the lobby part of the building, your smile growing when you catch sight of James.
He was leaning against the front of the desk, his arm crossed over his chest as he listened to someone on the phone. The arms of his work jumpsuit were tied around his waist, his toned biceps on full display as the white muscle tee he wore under it did nothing to hide them. His various tattoos were on full display as well and your eyes trail over every one of them as you waited for him to be done with the call.
His shirt was stained with oil already, despite you spending more than half an hour the previous night trying to get it clean again once he came home smelling like motor oil and cigarettes.
James slumped back a bit more as the person rambled on, but as his gaze swept around the room before landing on you, he stood up again. “Hi,” he mouthed, grinning over at you while you swayed on your heels by the door. “Uh huh. Well, what you can do right now is bring it in and we’ll see if we have the parts you need. If we don’t, I’ll send in an order for them. Alright, no problem. See you soon.”
He reached behind him and set the phone down before reaching out to you, his hands finding their home on your waist once you were standing in front of him. “Hi,” you greet him with a small smile, kissing him quickly afterwards.
“Hi, baby,” he said back, bunching up the fabric of your dress as he pulled you a bit closer. “You look pretty.”
You smile at him, sliding your free hand up his arm until your fingers are able to wrap less than halfway around his bicep. “Thanks, Jamie,” you blush under his gaze as you look around the near-empty room. “Slow day?”
“If by slow day you mean we’ve had three customers today, then yeah, it’s a slow day,” he answered, wrapping his arms around your middle and pulling your body up against his. His eyes raked downwards, pausing at your somewhat exposed chest before going further. You knew what you were doing when you chose to wear your white sundress with the small blue flowers that matched his eye color almost perfectly. It never failed to drive him crazy, and you could tell he was holding himself back right now.
While he was pretty into PDA, James still didn’t want the few customers in the lobby to witness his inability of keeping his hands to himself whenever you are around. “I brought you lunch,” you tell him and hold the bag up, the logo of his favorite fast food place making him smile.
“You brought me lunch?” He teased, trailing his hands lower down your back.
You hum, wrapping your arms around his shoulders and standing on the tips of your toes to be able to kiss him. He pulled you closer to him and tried to deepen the kiss, making you laugh at the way his lips chased yours. “I did,”
“You’re too good to me,” he mumbles, kissing you again quickly.
Laughing, you pull away and hold up the bag again. “I’m just proud of you,” he smiles at your words, taking it from you. “Always.”
“Thanks, baby,” he murmured, taking your left hand in his free one. His thumb turned your rings as he added, “Now I’m starving.”
You perk up at that, “Oh, good, because I wasn’t sure if you’d eaten or not-”
The shaking of his head made your words die on your tongue, and you watched as he looked around before walking backwards to the office door, pulling you with him as he went. “I’m not hungry for food,”
You get the hint pretty much instantly, a blush taking over your face as you glance back at the customers who seemed to have no idea of the words that were being exchanged between you and James. “Right now? Here?”
James pulled you into the office that was labeled as his own before closing and locking the door. “Right now,” he confirmed, shutting the blinds on the doors window and setting the fast food bag onto the table next to it before making his way over to you in three strides. His hands grab hold of your hips and he pushes you against the side of the desk, his fingers bunching up the fabric of your dress as he sinks to his knees. “Here.”
Your eyes widen as he pulls down your panties with one quick tug before he wraps his lips around your clit. “Oh, my God,” you gasp as he sucks on your bundle of nerves harshly. “Jesus, do you have any self control at all?”
James smirks up at you with a shrug, “Not when it comes to you,” he answered, nudging your right thigh to rest on his shoulder as he licked a stripe up your folds. Your fingers tangled in his hair, your engagement ring and wedding band being barely visible in the dark strands.
“You’re on the clock, Jamie,” you point out in a breathless tone. “This is what you’re getting paid for?”
He raised his brow at you as he used the tattooed fingers of his free hand to gently split your slick entrance. “I think you’re forgetting that I’m my own boss,” he rasped, slowly fucking his index and middle fingers into you.
You whine a bit as you grip the edge of the desk. “How could I ever forget that?” You ask, biting down harshly on your lip to stifle the loud moan that threatened to escape you. “Don’t you know how proud I am of you?”
James nodded, kissing your inner thigh as he fucked his digits into you. “Of course I do,” he answered. “You tell me it everyday.”
“Because it’s true,” you whisper then moan. “Jamie.”
“I know,” he hummed, staring up at you with dark blue eyes. You didn’t need much of a build up for you to be ready to fall apart for him, and he knew this. The way you were helplessly clenching around his fingers told him all he needed to know, and he sped up a bit, making sure to brush his thumb against your clit with every thrust of his hand. “My wife is the prettiest thing in the world.”
His compliment makes your face flush as you grip onto the hair on the back of his head, squeezing your eyes shut. “Fuck,” he knew what he does to you, and you didn’t have to open your eyes to know he is smirking. “James.”
Your voice held a sense of warning, but he didn’t need to hear it to know that you are close. After being together for nearly six years and married for just under one, you and James knew each other like the backs of your hands. “I know,” he repeated his previous words, teasing your clit with the tip of his tongue as you squirmed against him.
Your walls clenched around his fingers and your stomach flexed as you felt the knot begin to steadily form. “Oh, God,” you murmur, not wanting to be too loud since he still had customers in the other room.
James looked effortlessly hot right now, with his face buried against you, his fingers deep inside you and his movements slow. He wasn’t rushing even though he is currently at work and will probably be needed soon by one of the other mechanics. He was taking his time with you, getting you off slowly in the way he knows you love.
You reach down and brush your thumb against his cheek, wiping away the smudge of dirt and oil that had collected there since he started his shift. “If you think I’m pretty,” you struggle to say as he curls his fingers, the tips brushing against your sweet spot. “You must have no idea how perfect you are, Jamie.”
He shook his head, pulling away from you but keeping his fingers deep within you. “I’m not the perfect one, baby,” he brushes you off, but all you could focus on was the wetness that coated his lips and chin. “You’re so fucking perfect, and you’re all mine.”
You moan and grip his hair again, making him grin up at you as he raises his left hand.
“I made sure of that,” he added, wiggling his fingers and showing off his wedding band.
“James,” you gasped loudly, feeling the knot tighten even more. He just shook his head and wrapped his mouth around your clit again, sucking the bud harshly. You buck against him and push him closer to you with your foot on his back. “I’m close.”
You lean further back on the desk and accidentally knock over the lamp that was sitting on it. James didn’t seem to care at all about the well-being of it as he just pulled your body closer to him as his fingers inched even deeper in you. “I know, pretty girl,” he rasped, quickening the pace of his hand in a way that had you gripping onto him with everything you had in you as you felt your walls spasm. “I want you to come for me. All over my hand.”
His words make your head spin as you writhe against him before the knot unravels. You moan rather loudly as you come on his fingers and then again when you saw the wetness that dripped down his hand as he fucked you through your high. “Fuck, fuck,” you whimper and watch as he slowly pulls his fingers out and kept eye contact with you when he brought them up to his mouth and licked them clean. “Fuck, James.”
He grins up at you before standing to his full height and walking over to the door. “You okay?” He asks over his shoulder.
“Yeah,” you say as you try to control your breathing. “Give me a sec and I’ll get you off, too.”
James just waved you off as he grabbed the takeout bag before walking back over to the desk and sitting down on the chair. “Don’t worry about it, baby,”
You watch with wide eyes as he pats his thigh and opens the bag, a surprised laugh escaping you. “You’re eating right now?”
He shrugged as he reached over and wrapped his arm around your middle, pulling you onto his lap as he leaned back. “That was a lot of work,” he teased, giving you a chaste kiss before reaching into the bag. “Let me get my strength back and then we’ll talk about you getting me off.”

J. Drysdale - Orange, Orange, Orange
Tumblr media
✄————————————
Jamie Drysdale x Fem!reader
Word Count: 2.6k
Warning(s): cuss words, reader wanting to strangle Trevor✨
—————————————
Everybody has their own playoff traditions. For most teams, it’s the beards. And every stadium also has a different approach. For the Anaheim Ducks and Honda Center, it’s ‘Paint It Orange.’
Jamie and Trevor go all out. Their apartment gets decorated completely. Orange throw pillows, orange plates and cups, orange shower curtain. Anything that can be replaced for cheap during the playoffs. It’s atrocious. I love seeing my boyfriend and his clingy bestie, but god I hate seeing that orange. It’s too much.
Do I tell them that? Absolutely not.
The boys love it. They love getting into the playoff spirit, and I’d even venture to say it’s a ritual now. A superstition that they add to every year. This year I was anticipating orange drapes or maybe even an orange carpet.. but I couldn’t have been farther from the right idea.
Trevor and Jamie had been radio silent all day. Both in our group chat and in individual texts. It was unlike them. Especially Jamie, who always texted me in the morning. I was suspicious, but I didn’t think too much into it. We were coming up on the first playoff game. Two days away. It was likely that they were only anxious. Antsy.
I thought maybe a quick box of donuts might be nice. I swung by a local donut shop and picked up two dozen before making the drive to their place. Jamie always enjoyed the jelly filled and chocolate covered ones, but Trevor had so many things he enjoyed that it was hard to remember all the flavors. And knowing these boys and their appetites, it was safer to get two dozen.
When I got to their place, I gently kicked their door with my foot a few times, seeing as my hands were full. I heard a faint, ‘coming’ from Trevor. I eyed the orange wreath on their door while I waited. It was new. That must have been the addition for this year’s playoff run. They hadn’t had one in a while. I would have expected something more drastic to celebrate.
When the door opened, I was met with a shirtless Trevor. His long hair was pulled back in a ponytail -no doubt one I left behind at some point- and his shorts were covered in orange. His arms had a bit of the orange substance on them as well. My brow furrowed.
“Hey! You brought us donuts. That’s awesome.” Trevor smiled, “can you bring ‘em inside? Just toss them on the counter.” He stepped aside, letting me in before he shut the door and locked it.
“Trevor, what’s going on?” I asked as I walked through the house, greeted by the ugly oranges of their decorations. I set the boxes of donuts on the counter, opening one to pull out one of the jelly filled treats. I took a bite out of it as I turned to look at Trevor.
“Stuff.” He answered, nodding a little too dramatically for me to believe him.
“Where’s Jamie?”
“Out.” I didn’t like or believe that answer either.
“Doing what?” I pressed on.
“Hey! Who’s that?” I heard Jamie shout, his voice echoing from a room I could only assume was the bathroom. Trevor’s face fell the moment he knew he’d been caught in his own lie.
“It’s your girlfriend! She brought us donuts!” Trevor called, the volume of his voice irritating my ears. I winced.
“You’re such a liar, Trevor.” I scoffed out, shaking my head at him.
“Tell her to come here! She can help!” Even yelling, Jamie’s voice sounded soft.
Trevor looked at me with a cautious gaze, and I narrowed my eyes at him.
“Why don’t you want me here?” I immediately asked, accusation in my tone. Trevor refused to answer right out.
“Oh boy…” he mumbled. Clearly, he knew whatever I was about to see, I was not going to like. “Come on.”
I followed incredibly close behind Trevor, contemplating a few times, simply pushing him out of the way. But once we got to the bathroom, I was glad we’d taken our time getting there. It gave me time to brace myself.
The gasp I drew in was second to none, horrified and surprised in the worst ways.
I stood there in shock for maybe a total of ten seconds. A ticking time bomb.
“So… you like it?” The optimism in Trevor’s voice set me off.
“What the fuck?” I shouted, staring down at my shirtless boyfriend and his lathered orange hair. “Jamie! What the fuck?”
Trevor was standing behind me, and I could tell the boys were looking at each other when my boyfriend’s eyes drifted past me.
“This is why I told you not to invite her.” Trevor mumbled. I spun on my heels.
“Because I don’t want my boyfriend looking like..” I paused, looking back at Jamie. He flashed me a nervous smile. “Like the Lorax?” I wasn’t necessarily angry.. just.. caught off guard. Nobody informed me of this. Nobody told me I was going to have to look at Jamie like this for possibly months.
“So you don’t like it?” Jamie’s smooth voice piped up, causing my tense gaze to move from Trevor back to the once dark haired man. I pursed my lips, trying to calm myself as I noticed the concern in Jamie’s features.
“I’ll be honest with you J.. I don’t. No.” His face fell. I shook my head as I kicked my shoes off and stepped onto the dirty towels on the floor. I glanced at him in the mirror, then back down to his figure sitting on a foldable chair. I immediately reached for a silky lock of wet orange hair, still covered in fresh dye. “Oh my god…” I mumbled, feeling like a mother with her child.
“That bad, huh?” Jamie inquired, eyeing my reflection in the mirror.
“I love you.. just.. not your orange hair.” He was slow to nod. Jamie never liked knowing I didn’t like something. I always tried to tell him that it didn’t matter. Just because I didn’t like something, didn’t mean he needed to change it or throw it away. But he always wanted to make me happy. I could tell though, that this stressed him out. Because he couldn’t easily fix this.
“It’s not that bad.” Jamie tried to reason.
“No it’s pretty bad.” I wanted to card my hands through his hair, but I couldn’t. These idiots. God knows what this would turn out like. “Jame- your hair is so dark.. what if this turns out looking like shit? Like actual shit? Did you guys even bleach it enough?” Jamie, nor Trevor had a good response. So instead, my boyfriend opted to change the topic.
“Trevor‘s gonna do it too.” I looked back at Trevor while Jamie’s eyes were fixed on himself in the mirror.
Trevor shook his head with a snicker. My brow furrowed at his amusement, and the lines connected when I noticed Trevor was not worried about his own perfect hair.
I realized quickly that this was not a playoff ritual. This was Trevor tricking his best friend into something embarrassing. I would have considered it a prank if I didn’t know how humiliated Jamie would be once he found out.
I wanted to strangle him. I wanted to yell at him. I wanted to grab Trevor by the hair and throw him off the roof. Instead, I came up with a much less hostile approach.
“Thats really sweet of you Trev. At least if it ends badly Jamie won’t look… orange all alone.” I cooed. Trevor looked confused, but I let him off the hook for a moment.
“I don’t like this look.. I really don’t, but if it’s for playoffs, I understand. How much longer does this have to sit, J?” I asked, watching him reach for his phone on the stained counter.
“Thirty more minutes.” I nodded gestured for him to move and sit on the edge of the bath tub. He did so with ease.
“You want this?” I presented the donut I took a bite of to him, and Jamie quickly reached for it. He mumbled a sheepish, ‘thanks,” in return.
“Trevor,” I immediately turned to him. “I’ll help you with your hair.”
It was Trevor’s turn to be concerned, shaking his head and laughing anxiously.
“No.. no.. J’s got it.” He took a step back to escape the bathroom.
“No, I insist. I’d rather it not get anywhere else on Jamie anyway. His arm hair doesn’t need to be orange too. Come on.” I grabbed his arm, pulling him a bit forcefully back into the bathroom.
“I think it’ll look so good on you, Trev.” I taunted as I pushed him down into the chair. “J, can you go get me a drink from the fridge?” Jamie looked up from his phone and nodded, slipping out of the bathroom.
“Fuck you Trevor,” I hissed quietly, “you know how embarrassed he would have been? He probably would’ve chopped all his hair off.” Trevor’s eyes quickly found the floor. I wondered if he even thought this idea through entirely.
“I wish you wouldn’t be so rough on him sometimes. He’s not you, Trev.” My tone softened -though the annoyance remained- as I glanced down at all of the items on the counter. I reached for the bleach and prepped it before grabbing a spare pair of gloves, slipping them on.
“This one was pretty bad, huh?” Trevor muttered, right before Jamie returned with the water. I flashed him a smile as he set it on top of the toilet.
“Getzlaf‘s gonna love this look on you guys.” I was quick to change the subject, beginning to lather the bleach in Trevor’s hair. He may not have even needed it, but I decided to go with it for safe measure. I peeked over at Jamie, who was watching with curious eyes. I realized he already had another donut in hand. I also realized, that the poor kid’s eyebrows were still as dark as can be.
“He’ll support us.” Trevor reasoned.
“I’m sure he will.” Sarcasm laced my tone.
“I think we’ll look pretty cool.” Jamie’s excitement made me feel bad for knowing what I did about Trevor’s plans. And it made me feel bad for disagreeing in my head.
“The coolest, J.” I responded, trying to sound genuine.
It took me around ten minutes to get Trevor’s hair covered well. At that point, it was a waiting game for Jamie. Another fifteen minutes went by where I sat by my boyfriend on the lip of the bath tub, leaning on him as he scrolled through his phone, occasionally moving an orange lock from his eyes that kept falling astray. His mother didn’t like it when his hair got too long, I could only imagine what she’d say when she saw it was a whole new color.
When Jamie’s hair timer had gone off, I made Trevor go and grab me a cup. I helped Jamie sit on the floor and lean his head back into the bath tub, sighing to myself as I turned the bath tub on and found a comfortable temperature for the water.
When Trevor returned with the cup, I took it from him and filled it, resting my hand over Jamie’s eyes as I poured the first round of water through his hair, pushing my fingers through after. This was gonna take a while.
“I’ve seen you blonde.. but this is something else..” I mumbled. I did find momentary joy in the way Jamie’s eyes were closed, enjoying the feeling of having someone wash his hair. His orange hair.
“If this comes out bad, I’m taking you both to the local salon.” I added, getting to a point where the orange didn’t completely stain the water as it went down the drain. I turned off the tub faucet and asked Trevor to get me a towel, which he came back with faster than the cup.
“It’s not Carla,” Trevor shook his head. I glared at him.
“I don’t really care who it is. You’ll go unless you want to look like an off brand red head.” Jamie’s eyes opened, worriedly looking between me and his best friend.
I grabbed the towel from Trevor and turned back to my boyfriend, wrapping the towel around his hair and squeezing it a few times before I helped him sit up, and draped the towel over his shoulders.
“Move.” Trevor didn’t look very pleased that I was kicking him out of his seat, but he did nonetheless. Jamie slipped back into the foldable chair, and I bent over to search the cabinet beneath the sink for my spare hair dryer. When I spotted it, I was quick to pull it out.
I eyed the cord for a moment. “I don’t wrap my hairdryer cords like this.” I glanced between both boys, curious as to who had used my dryer while I was away.
“Sometimes my hair doesn’t dry fast enough before I go out.” Jamie’s gentle confession made my gaze soften.
I plugged the cord into the outlet and opened the medicine cabinet to grab one of the combs inside.
“Wait that’s mine!” I glared over at Trevor before putting the comb back and grabbing the other. Part of me wanted to snap his in half. Torturing Jamie and he still thought he could sit there and make requests.
I turned the hair dryer on, pointing it down at my lover as I slowly ran his comb through his hair. He looked pleased with all the attention. I didn’t mind it.. I just wished I could have given it to him under other circumstances that didn’t involve orange hair.
As his hair dried, the orange took on a much lighter look. Still hideous, but it looked like it would match the jerseys. Jamie took a few pictures of it.
When I had his hair mostly dry, I turned the dryer off and set it on the counter with the comb. I ran my fingers through his hair a few times, ruffling and fixing the part, before I leaned forward to press a kiss to his head.
“Do you like it now?” Jamie spoke softly, his eyes searched my expression in the mirror.
“It’ll grow on my eventually.” I tapped his shoulder. “You wanna help me finish Trev?”
“Oh! Yeah!”
“Trevor sit on the floor and lean your head over the bath.”
I repeated the process of washing hair with Trevor, this time with the help of Jamie, who really just handed me shampoo when I needed it.
When I had his hair washed and towel dried, I had him and Jamie switch places again, and I began to dry Trevor’s hair- with his own comb. After I was sure every strand was no longer damp, I put my dryer away and set Trevor’s comb aside.
“I think when we’re done, you guys should send some photos to your mothers.” I advised, smiling to myself at the thought of either woman’s reaction.
Jamie’s head shot up from his phone. Had he not considered his mother as a factor before agreeing to this?
“She’s gonna flip…”
He hadn’t.
“Oh my god, Jamie-“ I hid my face in my hands to mask my frustration.
“Can you call her with me?” His request was met with a reluctant no from myself.
“You made your bed, lover. And this one you have to lay in alone.” I chuckled. “Good luck.”

three times ‘cause i’ve waited my whole life
Tumblr media
I am apparently incapable of writing anything short. This has no plot. I think the only warnings are like swearing and innuendo. It is literally just Jamie and the reader being in love. I cannot stress enough how little plot this has. Enjoy.
three times ‘cause I’ve waited my whole life It’s one of Richmond’s biggest games. They’re facing Man City on their turf, an away game, and it’s a big deal.
It’s not important in that it really matters to their status in the premier league, but important because it’s Man City. Jamie has thrown himself completely into training, so you rarely see him except to eat dinner and then fall asleep, his arms around your waist as you watch tv, fingers combing through his hair. He’s awake before you are, but as soon as you hear him switch on the bathroom light, you make your way downstairs to make him breakfast. The team nutritionist had a strict diet for him, one modified by Roy to account for all the extra training. You rub sleep from your eyes as you brew a pot of tea, waiting for Jamie to come downstairs.
Arms snake around you as you wait at the stove for the tea.“You don’t have to do this,” Jamie says, kissing your neck. You smile and reach back to him.
“I know,” you reply, “It’s just the only time I really get to see you.”
Jamie pulls away and turns you around. You see that he’s frowning.
“I haven’t been a good boyfriend recently, have I?” he asks.
You smile, lacing your arms around his neck. “Jamie. This is just a part of life. You have a big game, you disappear for a while, I miss you and I adjust. You finish, win or lose, and we’re back. I knew what I was signing up for.”
He puts his hands on your wrists. “Yeah, but, like, we’re supposed to be talking to each other and shit. And I’m so tired all the time that I can’t think of anything to say. I also’ve been a shit listener. Can’t even remember what we talked about yesterday.”
You sigh, move his hands back to your waist, and then reach up to smooth the furrow in his brow.
“Remember when I had all that extra work last month and ended up working 60 hours a week because of everything that had to be done? I was up late every night, and all you did was bring me food and kiss me, then you left me alone. I think the longest we were together was when you let me sit with my legs on your lap for two hours. I didn’t hear you complaining.”
“Yeah but-”
You cut him off: “Jamie. It’s just life right now. It’s not forever. It’s ok.”
He looks like he has more to say, but is interrupted by the kettle whistling. You give him a quick kiss and then point to his breakfast on the counter. You sit on the kitchen island while he eats, with your head on his shoulder until Roy comes.
Here’s the thing; no one knows you and Jamie are together. Sure, Roy knows. But Jamie loves Roy. Keeley knows. But Jamie said you’d love Keeley. (You did). Ted and Beard know, but only because they saw you two walking around the Richmond green late, late at night. (What they were doing on the Richmond green that late is beyond you, but hey). It wasn’t long after that that Jamie put a picture of you two up in his locker, so then all of AFC Richmond knew. But you weren’t public public. You had yet to show up in a tabloid or be seen with Jamie at a game or public event. You went to his games, absolutely, but you stayed in the stands, not the box.
He always got you a spot as close to the field as possible, but you would always meet up with Keeley and Rebecca after games to rendezvous somewhere else later.
You don’t mind. It doesn’t feel like Jamie is ashamed of you, especially because the people he cares about know. But you also know that you can handle it, and if he wants to go public and kiss you in the stands after a win, you would be ok with that. (You might be more than ok with that).
But as it is, no one knows about you. He knows where you stand on it, so the ball’s in his court. It’s been a year of this, but you just wonder how long it’s going to last.
Finally, finally it’s the week of the game. You had been staying in Manchester with Jamie’s mum, which was absolutely terrifying at first. It was not your first time meeting her, just your first time staying with her without Jamie present. You left a day before the team, so when they arrived Jamie sneaked away to come visit. You are sitting in comfortable silence on his mum’s porch looking up at the night sky, when he turns to you and says, “do you love me?”
You’re taken a little aback. “What kind of question is that?” you say. “Of course I love you.”
Jamie’s forehead is all scrunched up again, like it was that early morning. “What if I fucked my leg so badly I could never play football again?”
You laugh. “Not sure if you’ve noticed babe, but I’m not really a big football person. I’m more of a you person, so I guess there’s some overlap.”
Jamie is still weirdly nervous. “What if I play football till I’m forty, and you barely see me like it’s been? What if I’m always on the road and always training and all we get are dinners and shitty 3am breakfasts?”
He’s removed his arm from your shoulders at this point and you shiver, puffing out a breath into the cold air. He notices without saying a word and drapes his jacket around you.
“Jamie,” you reply slowly, trying to formulate your thoughts, “where is this all coming from? You know I love you. We’ve been together for a year, and this has never been an issue before.” As you’re speaking, you’re seized by a sudden, terrible thought: “Are you breaking up with me?”
The words tumble out so fast, you’re not sure he hears you until he’s looking at you, aghast.
“No, are you breaking up with me?”
“No!” you reply. “But you’re acting all weird, and we’ve been together for an entire year and that’s the longest you’ve dated anyone and I just thought that maybe this was your way of letting me know gently that you’re over me.”
Your heart feels like it’s beating out of your chest.
Jamie breathes out a sigh of relief. “Oh. No. I’m not ending things. I want to be with you forever. I just get all freaked out in me head before games like this, and it’s been fuckin weird coming home, and I just want to win, you know, so that way all this time away is worth it.” He pulls you close to him again and you can feel his heartbeat slowing down to a normal pace, in sync with your own.
You sit there till his mum comes out to remind him that it’s time to go get some rest, and it’s not until you’re half asleep in Jamie’s childhood bed that your mind replays his words:
I want to be with you forever.
It’s game day. You send Jamie a quick love you! text and then slip into your Jamie Tartt jersey. It’s from one of his old kits so it’s a little worn, but you always put it into his laundry pile so it comes out of the wash smelling like him. It’s not something anyone would notice, but you know, and it makes you smile. You get to be in the stands and know that Jamie Tartt loves you and you love him, and at the end of the day he’s the one you get to hold. You give yourself a shake, and open your phone to figure out where you’re meeting Keeley.
“And Richmond wins, 3-2 with a smashing goal by number 9 himself, Jamie Tartt!”
You’re screaming and jumping in the stands, overwhelmed by the fact that we won, we won, we won! The Richmond team are piling onto each other, Dani on Isaac’s back, Sam and Jan Maas jumping up and down like kids. You lose sight of Jamie in the mix.
“Well Arlo, it looks like Richmond has once again, exceeded all of our low expectations.”
“That’s right Chris, all thanks to Jamie Tartt’s brilliant goal. Looks like he’s having a good time celebrating with the Richmond lads. Wonder what they’ll get up to tonight? But what’s this? It looks like Tartt has broken away from his teammates and is running to the stands! He’s stopped in front of a fan and it looks like he is kissing a very lucky Richmond fan full on the mouth!”
“Have you ever been so caught up in a moment that you’ve made out with a stranger, Arlo?”
“Can’t say that I have, Chris. Can’t say that I have.”
It all happens so fast, that you don’t even know how to process it. One moment you can’t find Jamie and the next he is leaping over the stands, catching you in his arms, and kissing you in front of the whole stadium as if no one else is around. When you finally pull away, breathless, he takes your hand and helps you hop over the wall onto the pitch. Not usually allowed, but you suppose they’ll let it slide for football’s golden boy. AFC Richmond has caught up to Jamie, and you’re all on the field, screaming your heads off out of the sheer joy of winning.
“You’re coming tonight, yeah?” Isaac asks you as you wait for Jamie by the team bus. It’s the day after the Man City game, and you’re back in Richmond with a plan to hit the town yet again, as though the night before wasn’t enough for them. (You actually wouldn’t know, because you were in a very nice hotel room with a certain striker).
“Yeah, you know the only reason we invited him anywhere is in the hopes that you’ll finally be able come along,” Colin adds.
Any story of Richmond’s win had a somewhat fuzzy picture attached of Jamie kissing you in the stands with some variation of the title “Tartt’s mystery girl.”
You laugh. “Yes, we’ll be there. It’ll be nice to actually be out and about with you guys. Family dinners are fun, but there’s more to life.”
Once you found out that Jamie’s whole team knew you existed, you made him invite them over for dinner once a month. It’s one of your favorite things, especially because they all bring food to share. When it’s warm you do pool parties and when it’s cold you play bracket uno. It was nice to meet Jamie’s family, whether he’ll admit that’s what they are or not.
“You ready, babe?” Jamie asks as he slings his arm around you.
“BYE TED!” you yell. “Ok. Now I’m ready.”
—
Sam closed his restaurant special for you all, and turned it into like a private club. You say like because it is, at its core, a restaurant. However, under Isaac’s supervision and creative design, he apparently has transformed Ola’s through rearranged furniture, dimmed lighting, and music into a place where AFC Richmond can celebrate their win without feeling crowded by strangers. You’re secretly grateful, because clubs are not really your scene. You’ll get all dressed up, sure, but you never know what to do with yourself once you’re there.
Speaking of getting dressed up, you were feeling yourself. You had a light blue mini dress, with an asymmetrical neckline and a single puffed sleeve. It was more a-line than bodycon, but hey. You like a little bit of a twirl when you spin. Your absolute favorite part though was that you were wearing two-inch silver block heels, with straps around your ankles. The dress plus the shoes made your legs look magical.
You and Jamie are in the bathroom getting ready, you fixing your makeup and him fixing his hair. He half-turns to you and points to his hair with a questioning look. “Lookin’ good,” you smile, and he smiles back.
“Oh, babe,” he says, tweaking his hair one final time, “I left my sunglasses back at the locker room, and I was wonderin’ if you’d be ok getting them with me before we head to the party? I just don’t want Bumbercatch stealing them.”
“Why would Bumbercatch steal them?” you ask.
Jamie shrugs. “Something about ‘no name, fair game.’ That’s how Jan Maas lost his favorite socks.”
You shudder. Why Bumbercatch would want Jan Maas’ dirty old socks, you have no idea. They must be really amazing.
You reply, “Yeah sure, I hate being too early to things anyway,” as Jamie absentmindedly kisses you on the forehead with a “thanks babe,” as he heads downstairs.
You don’t live far from the Richmond pitch, so you’re walking across the dark parking lot in no time.
“Thanks for coming with me,” Jamie says.
He’s swinging your hands as you walk. He looks nice, the sleeves of his cream shirt rolled up. Nice pants, nice shoes. Nice ass.
“Yeah, of course,” you say, momentarily distracted by the fact that this man is going to get laid tonight.
“No, I mean you’re always down for what-fuckin-ever, and you just let things bounce off you. And you like me, for my personality for some fucking reason? And I think about you all the time, when I’m gone or when, like, I have early training with Roy. And you make laugh because you stopped being afraid to be yourself around me. I just like you. And I meant what I said the other day, I do want to be with you forever. Not to freak you out or whatever.”
He’s stopped right at the doors and he looks so uncomfortable and earnest in a way that you’ve never seen before.
“I’m not freaked out, Jaim,” you say. “I love you, and you know I’m in it to win it with you. Now, let’s get those sunglasses and for the love of god, please don’t act this weird tonight.”
This elicits a chuckle, and he nods in concession. “Alright. Let’s go.”
The halls are dark and quiet as you walk to the Richmond locker room. It smells clean, for once. Like lavender. There’s a faint glow coming from the doors and Jamie pushes open the doors to the most magical thing you have ever seen.
There are candles on the benches and twinkle lights strung across the lockers. There’s a bouquet of flowers in the middle of the room and as you turn to Jamie, awestuck look on your face, you see him kneeling behind you, small black box in hand.
“Jamie,” you say.
“Yes, love,” he replies.
“What are you doing.” It’s a statement, not a question, and it comes out more wobbly than you’d care to admit.
He cracks a smile. “Eh, I hope it’s pretty obvious what I’m doing.”
You can feel a fucking tear forming in your eye and you will it to go away. You refuse to have streaky foundation.
“Love of my life,” Jamie begins.
“Yes,” you say.
“Oi, you’ve gotta let me finish.”
“Right, sorry, as you were.” You think your face is going to split in half with the size of your smile.
He takes a breath then continues, “there’s no one else I’d rather have shitty 3am breakfasts with, no one else I’d rather beat at MarioKart, and no one else I’d rather do life with. Will you m-”
He’s cut of by you kissing him like you have never kissed him before. After a moment, he pulls away and asks, “Is that a yes?”
You can’t help it, the furrow in his brow gets you every time so you laugh and reply, “Of course it’s a yes, you dummy!”
Jamie smiles and then yells, “Lads, she said yes!” and the blinds go up from the coaches office as the entire AFC Richmond team storms into the locker room. Dani and Richard are spraying champagne in the air as people hug you and slap Jamie on the back.
You find his hand amid the chaos and squeeze it.
“Can’t believe I were so nervous about this,” he says into your ear.
“Can’t believe you think you beat me at MarioKart,” you respond.
“Oi, we are not getting into this again-”
“There’s only one way to settle this.”
Jamie looks at you, then to all your friends celebrating, then back to you. “Think they’ll even notice we’re gone?”
You shake my head. “Nah,” you say, “let’s get out of here.”
Jamie smiles at me as you slip through six different lynx scents out the door. “You’re going down, Mrs. Tartt.”
“Only one of us is going down tonight, Mr. Tartt, and I can assure you it is not me!”
“You can say that again.” Jamie sticks out his tongue and wiggles his eyebrows at you, and your laughter echoes up into the night sky.

why not both
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
5.4K words
genre: smut
warnings: minors DNI, 18+ content; threesome, dirty talk
featuring: jamie drysdale x female reader x cam york
summary: when two men are fighting over who gets to sleep with you, why not choose both?
note: the reader and Cam often call Jamie “jim” or “jimmy” in this as a nickname. Also, this is my first ever attempt at writing a threesome, these 2 men just really needed to be written together in my opinion 🥵 I’m not super proud of this but hopefully y’all like it 🫶🏼
Giving yourself a once over pulling at the hem of your skirt, you questioned if it was too short. Knowing the boys you were hanging around they’d surely love if it was, so you opted to ask Jamie, the least likely to undress you with his eyes and give you his honest opinion.
“Jamieee!”
Soon enough the jet black haired boy appeared in the doorway of your bathroom, his outfit making you chuckle.
“I swear to god you and Cam really said what’s the most generic outfit to wear for a country music festival…anyways, thoughts?”
Hands on your hips you did a spin, giving him the opportunity to take in your outfit. A black mini skirt and black cowboy boots, paired with a white tank top that read j’adore cowboys and a black cowboy hat to top it off. Jamie’s jaw slightly parted as he looked you up and down.
“I feel like I reallyyy dropped the ball now seeing you.”
He flashed you a shy smile as you took his words as a sign that you looked good. Tipping your cowboy hat to him as you walked past, stealing his High Noon in the process as you tossed back the remnants that were in the can.
“Thanks Jimmy!”
The sounds of Morgan Wallen blasting from the kitchen of the airbnb as you walked in to find Cam pouring shots for you all.
“Where the hell is everyone?”
Noticing the house was empty you checked the time, assuming you were running late as you usually did. However today you managed to be almost 30 minutes early, a new record for you.
“They are on their way and-holy shit, someone is trying to get all the cowboys hot and bothered today huh?”
Cam flashed you a cocky smirk as he handed you a shot, leaning against the counter while he took in your outfit. Playing with the silver sparkly chain that laid over the skin of your exposed stomach.
“Don’t you know that necklaces are meant for your neck?”
Cam leaning in towards you, grinning from ear to ear before you’d mirrored him, your faces inches from one another.
“Don’t you know that I don’t give a fuck?”
Raising your eyebrows you tossed back your shot, giving him a wink before Jamie joined the two of you asking for his own.
The dynamic between the two boys was one you’d never fully understood, but it made sense. Cam was outspoken, a cocky fuck to put it plainly, who would tell you exactly what he wanted to say, whether it was something you wanted to hear or not. The energy between the two of you was always one of trying to one up each other, your competitive sides always on display. But Jamie, he was the total opposite. Soft spoken, mindful of anything and everything that came out of his mouth. He was the one you went to for advice, the late night talks where you’re up until 3am eventually forgetting the point of the conversation.
Though bringing the two of them together always guaranteed a good time. Hot guys, alcohol, and a music festival, a girl was living the dream.
Once the rest of your group had arrived, it was time to head out. The girls of course needing to take tons of pictures before leaving, making the boys roll their eyes but giving them the opportunity to toss back a few more shots.
“Why’d she call you to her room earlier Jim?”
Cam shot Jamie a playful smirk as the boys trailed behind the girls on the long path to the entrance gates, to which he shook his head with a laugh.
“No way dude, don’t even go there. She asked me what I thought of her outfit.”
Rolling his eyes Cam threw an arm over Jamie’s shoulder. His voice now just above a whisper as he didn’t want the group to overhear.
“You’re telling me that outfit she has on isn’t driving you crazy? Cause shit, she is driving me crazy right now in that mini skirt.”
“Keep it in your pants dude!”
Jamie shoved Cam from his side with a laugh, trying to ignore his friend's comments. Cam just putting his hands up with a shrug. “Listen Jim, if you won’t finally make a move, I just might.”
Jamie had hid his feelings for you since the day you’d met. He had never seen a girl so beautiful, but he wasn’t the type to be forward and blunt about how he felt. Unlike Cam who made it known that he thought you were hot and would do anything for a chance with you. Jamie had told Cam in confidence one night how he felt, at the time not knowing that Cam felt the same way. And since then it had been their secret, one that almost brought out the competitiveness between them whenever the three of you got together.
-
Several hours into the festival, having been spent in the direct sunlight, it was safe to say you were in need of water and food. Thanking yourself for picking an outfit that didn’t have much fabric so you were somewhat cooler than those who had multiple layers. The boys benefited from the fact that they could simply take their shirts off, while you could only put your hair up in hopes of it cooling you down.
“If I don’t get french fries in my mouth in the next five minutes, I might actually die.”
You groaned as you sat on the grass, fanning yourself with you hat as your friend group followed suit. All of you trying to rest before you headed off to the next artist’s stage.
“Someone ask for some french fries?”
Jamie smiled as he sat down next to you, handing you a basket of fries, seeing the look on your face as you practically scarfed them down in seconds.
“I could kiss you right now Jamie oh my god!”
The phrase making his eyes go wide, despite knowing that there was likely no intention behind it. Though he couldn’t help but think back to Cam’s words from earlier. Hoping that maybe today, in a moment of drunken false confidence, he’d work up the courage to finally make a move.
“Oh my god!”
Jamie was shook from his thoughts as he looked at you, concerned that something was wrong.
“What!?”
“You even remembered I love ranch with my fries? God I love you Jamie!”
He softly smiled as he was happy to know he’d made your day remembering such a minor detail about you. The two of you sitting in silence as you refueled yourselves before heading off to the next spot.
“I really do like your outfit today by the way. Sorry I got a little tongue tied when you asked me this morning.”
You watched Jamie slightly blush as he spoke, his eyes not connecting with yours as he seemed almost nervous about his words. A smile on your face as you continue munching on your fries.
“Tongue tied? Because of?”
“How hot you looked, obviously.”
The words catching you off guard coming from Jamie, sure he’d complimented you before but never so bluntly. Perhaps it was the alcohol, or maybe the heat was getting to him. But it was a side of him you liked. Having spent so much time with Cam you thought for sure he would’ve gained some of Cam’s confidence, his boldness. But he’d remained the kind and gentlemanly man he’d been since the day you met, which you appreciated in contrast to Cam. Though sometimes you wanted to see that cockier side of Jamie, and see him be more outspoken. Not let Cam run the show or call the shots so much.
“You think I look hot?”
“Oh absolutely, you alwa-“
“Don’t mind if it do!”
Cam interrupted Jamie’s words as he pushed between the two of you, stealing a few fries from your basket before he tipped his hat to you and blew you a kiss.
“Thank you little lady.”
You rolled your eyes at him, shaking your head before you looked back at Jamie who was awkwardly laughing off the situation. Almost thankful Cam interrupted so he didn’t end up saying what he planned.
You tucked some hair behind your ear as he offered to help you stand up, taking your empty fry basket and tossing it in the trash as your group was ready to start walking again.
“Jamie, you were saying something? Before we were rudely interrupted!”
Making the gesture as if you were going to kick Cam in the butt as you empathized your words, causing Jamie to laugh.
“Just that, you always look hot to me.”
He flashed you a wink before one of the guys had called him away for something, lucky for you as a blush was quickly creeping over your cheeks. Hopefully disguised as you just being flush from the heat so no one would think much of it.
As your group made your way to the final stage of the night, you all had grown eager for the final performer. It was the main reason you’d come to the festival, and you all were ready to sing until your voices gave out.
Onlookers probably thought your group was annoying, the way you all belted out the lyrics, dancing around with one another. But none of you cared, enjoying every second of the night you all had been looking forward to all summer.
As you danced around, you noticed Jamie standing and talking with Trevor, drinks in hand like two awkward freshman at their first college party. Making your way over to them, you grabbed Jamie’s hand, attempting to bring him out of his shell a bit.
“Jamie don’t make me dance alone, come onnn!”
He smiled down at you as you took his hands in yours, laughing as you belted out the words along with the crowd. But despite being as drunk as he was, he wasn’t giving you much to work with. Simply rocking back and forth as he watched you. A smile on his face as he’d wondered if this was his chance, to make his move like Cam had teased him about.
But as the song came to an end, you’d let go of his hands and clapped along with the crowd. Looking on in anticipation as you all tried to predict the next song, Jamie immediately missing the feel of your hands in his as he rejoined Trevor at the back of the group.
The second the slower strums of the guitar started, you threw your hands to your hat in shock, searching the area for Cam as you knew his reaction would be similar. This song had been your favorite from the album, and you’d each had it on repeat for weeks leading up to tonight.
He’d found you from across the group, the two of you immediately belting out the words as he wrapped his arms around you, swaying you to the music before he’d switched to slow dancing.
Jamie watched as you threw your head back laughing, the way Cam’s hands were resting at your waist, beating himself up for being too concerned about what people thought to dance with you how you’d wanted. He couldn’t blame Cam for the way he acted around you, Cam wasn’t afraid to show you how he felt towards you. And you seemed to appreciate the boldness of him. And while Jamie felt he expressed his feelings in other ways, he was starting to think that it wasn’t good enough.
-
After several hours in the sun and far too much alcohol, you all were ready to head home. The house was only a short walk once outside the fairgrounds, but your feet were killing you in your boots and you were sure they would be covered in blisters. Every step hurt worse than the last, and you were ready to take your boots off and leave them behind.
“Ouch, fuck.”
Jamie noticed you wincing as you walked, and in true Jamie fashion he’d thought up an idea. Stopping you in your tracks, he’d positioned himself in front of you, slightly bending down before instructing you to jump.
Normally you’d question him whether or not he was sober enough to carry you, but with the alcohol flowing through your system and the pain in your feet, you gladly accepted. Wrapping your arms around his neck, his arms around your thighs, the two of you were the closest you’d ever been. Your cheek practically touching his as he carried you with ease down the trail.
His eyes occasionally catching yours before you’d look away embarrassed. Luckily the amount of alcohol in your system and a slight sunburn was hiding any blush that had appeared on your cheeks.
“You good?”
Jamie smirked at you as his eyes traveled from yours to your lips, then back. Something in them was different, and you felt almost nervous to be so close to him. Taking the time to appreciate how good he smelled, the way his face lit up when he looked at you. Sure you’d always thought Jamie was attractive, but you’d never thought about him in that way. But feeling his biceps flex as he carried you with ease, his hands gripping your thighs just beneath your ass, you weren’t sure if it was the alcohol getting you warm or something else.
“Giddy up cowboy!”
The sting of Cam slapping your ass quickly pulled you out of the moment with Jamie as you playfully yelped. A hand leaving Jamie’s neck to grab at your ass, rubbing the sore spot before you cursed Cam.
“Don’t have it on display if you don’t want me touching it, little lady.”
He playfully tipped his hat at you, flashing a wink before he ran to catch up with some of the guys.
“He’s such a perv.”
You laughed as your arm returned to wrap around Jamie’s neck. Noticing how Jamie’s expression had turned a bit annoyed, not used to seeing him that way.
“Jamie, what’s wrong?”
He shook his head, trying to laugh it off and pretend like it was nothing. Embarrassed that he was even getting jealous over Cam’s interactions with you.
“Nothing, it’s, it’s nothing.”
You glared at him as he kept his eyes forward, knowing him all too well to believe that it was simply nothing. He could feel your eyes practically burning a hole in his cheek, finally letting out a sigh as he gave in.
“I mean, it’s not like it’s anything you don’t already know. It’s silly that I’m even bothered by Cam wanting to fuck you so bad.”
You practically choked on your own saliva hearing the words pour from Jamie’s mouth. Sure you knew that Cam flirted with you, hell he flirted with every girl that crossed his path. But either you don’t know him well enough, or you’re just oblivious to him wanting to sleep with you.
“Um, actually I didn’t know that…but why does that bother you?”
Jamie knew he could risk jeopardizing his friendship with you, but Cam was right. He needed to finally man up and make a move or he’d never have the chance.
“Because I obviously like you too. You can’t tell me you’ve never noticed it? I mean I don’t run around slapping your ass and drooling over you in front of your face. But, Cam and I feel the same way. We have for, well forever.”
“So you want to fuck me too?”
Jamie bit his tongue, unsure if he should open up a can of worms with his response. He knew the second he’d admitted how he felt, there was no turning back.
-
“You fucking told her?”
Cam’s voice was barely above a whisper as he scolded Jamie, shocked to know he’d finally grew a pair and told you how he felt. But not without dragging Cam into the mix along with him.
“Well, you told me to make a move, but then you were busy making a move and I got jealous and she noticed and it just slipped out!”
The two of them whisper bickering back and forth, trying not to make too much noise for you to overhear as you’d gone to take your hat and boots up to your room.
“It slipped out for you to tell our best friend that we both want to fuck her? Jimmy I swear to god I could kill you!”
Walking into the kitchen you couldn’t help but notice the two boys awkwardly stopping their conversation. Both of them smiling at you as if to cover up something.
“Um, hi?”
“Hey, how uh, are your feet feeling?”
Jamie tried his best to break up the awkwardness, Cam slightly laughing at his choice of a convention starter as he walked over to the island to crack open a drink.
“What is going on with you two?”
Leaning on the counter as you snacked on some chips, holding a hand out for Cam to pass you his drink so you could steal a sip. His eyes darting from Jamie to you as he handed it over, a smirk on his lips as he chuckled.
“Look, I know Jamie let the cat out of the bag. So, we just want to know, who would you pick?”
Leaning against the counter as he took his drink back from you, Cam couldn’t help but smile. Crossing his arms over his chest as he awaited your response. Jamie’s eyes wide as he had no part in the questioning, easily you knew this was Cam’s idea.
“I’m sorry?”
Playing dumb you countered the question as you walked over to Cam, jumping up to sit on the counter as he shook his head. He could see right through you, knowing that you knew exactly where he was going with this conversation. But you figured you’d have a little fun with the two of them, make things more interesting.
Cam looked to Jamie, seeing that he wasn’t going to be the one to push the conversation forward, per usual he’d have to be the one to take the lead.
“I said, which one of us would you pick to fuck you?”
Cam’s hands were now on either side of your thighs, his lips inches from yours as he studied your response, seeing how you’d slightly tensed up as he got closer. Your breath hitching in your throat at his forwardness.
“I have to pick?”
A playful tone in your voice as you raised an eyebrow at him, watching as he leaned back against the counter behind him to join Jamie. The two boys in front of you impatiently waiting for a response. Cam assuredly thinking the answer would be him simply on account of his boldness. While Jamie was hoping it was him to knock Cam off his high horse, wanting this competition between the two of them to finally be over with.
“Can I pick both?”
Both of their eyes going wide at your response as they were sure you were joking, earning a slight laugh from you. The idea certainly not one you’d had prior to this very moment, but who could blame you?
Cam had always struck you as the type of guy you’d normally go for. Outspoken, a little bit of an asshole, knows he’s hot and will be sure to remind you of it. But could back it up with his body and his ability to make you blush with every flirtatious comment that came off his lips.
Jamie on the other hand, was more reserved and lacked the surplus of confidence Cam possessed. He’d compliment you, but never too boldly. Always a gentleman and respectful, though you often wondered what he might be hiding should you ever get past his shy demeanor. Like Cam, his body was one you’d occasionally get caught staring at, the both of them strict about their gym routines and it showed.
Still in their cutoff flannels from the festival your eyes landed on their biceps, then traveling to their chests that were peeking out due to one too many buttons being undone. Which you definitely appreciated, having to squeeze your thighs together to help with the building pressure you’d started to feel as you thought about the idea of the two of them finally getting their hands on you after wanting the opportunity for so long.
Cam took notice of you pressing your thighs together, a smirk on his lips as he looked at Jamie, who was clearly hot and bothered himself over the idea as he awkwardly adjusted his stance as if to hide a growing problem in his shorts.
“Well, what do you say Jimmy, should we give the little lady what she wants?”
He waited for a moment, to get some type of response from Jamie, but he clearly was unsure of the idea. Like a deer in headlights as he watched Cam close the distance between the two of you. His lips immediately on yours, sloppy as he’d clearly been aching to have this moment. As predicted, Cam fought you for dominance. His tongue pushing past your lips as his hands gripped your face, a slight moan escaping you as you gripped his ginger curls.
Cam playfully bit your lip before his trailing kisses down to your neck. First sucking, then biting, and finally trailing his tongue over the red marks to soothe the skin.
“Fuck Cam”
He smirked against your skin hearing his name pour from your lips, urging him to continue. As your eyes slowly fluttered open, you found Jamie trying to ease the discomfort in his shorts. Embarrassed when he locked eyes with you, unsure of what to do. Sensing his hesitation to jump in, clearly by Cam taking charge of the situation, you reached a hand out to him. Pulling him towards you by his shirt as his hands softly rested on your thighs.
“Oh come on Jamie, you said you wanted to fuck me right?”
Your tone playful as you teased him, pulling him by the chin to your lips. Fingers tangled in his black locks as his hand moved to your waist, lightly digging into your skin as he finally seemed to relax.
“Atta boy Jimmy, don’t be shy. She wants it just as bad as you do.”
The kiss intensified as Jamie became more comfortable, a hand slowly pushing past your tank top to find your lace covered breasts. His hand immediately bypassing the fabric, earning a moan of approval from you as you broke the kiss, gazing up at both boys with lust filled eyes. The two of them unsure what to do next as they’d not planned for a moment like this.
“How about we go somewhere that gives us a little more space to work with?”
Biting your lip you nodded in agreement, Cam pulling you in for one last kiss before he led the way upstairs. Jamie offering to help you from the counter, to which you accepted. But not without trying to ease his nerves in the process.
Wrapping your arms around his neck you pulled him in for a kiss, his hands gripping at your waist as your legs circled his, inviting him to lift you off the counter.
Jamie carried you upstairs, the two of you stealing more kisses from one another before he laid you on the bed. Cam tossing his shirt to the side, then discarding his shorts before he’d begun trailing kisses up your thighs.
Jamie following suit before joining you on the bed, his lips finding yours again as his hands pulled your tank top over your head, eyes immediately getting ahead of his actions and undressing you further. Your hand dropping to his cock that was pressing against your side through his briefs. Jamie moaning into the kiss as you palmed him over the fabric.
Cam noticed your focus on Jamie, lightly biting at your inner thigh to gain your attention.
“Ow fuck, Cam!”
“Sorry, you were giving him all the attention. I want to know I’m making you feel good too baby.”
His hands hooked into the waistband of your skirt, pulling it down with your thong in one motion. Instinctually you closed your legs, nervous for the boys to see you so vulnerable, but Cam immediately gripped your thighs, pulling them apart as he positioned himself at your core.
“Come on baby, you can’t be shy now. You chose both remember?”
Your breath hitched in your throat as you felt Cam’s tongue trace up your slit, your free hand falling to his hair as you gripped his curls. The other hand pushing past the waistband of Jamie’s briefs, stroking him slowly as his lips fell to your neck. Breath heavy as he moaned against your skin.
“Fuck.”
His moans were needy, telling you’d need more than just your hand.
“Take these off, let me give you more than just a hand.”
Lifting his hips, Jamie pulled down his briefs. His cock slapped against his stomach as your jaw had slightly dropped at the sight. His size definitely not what you’d expected but you weren’t complaining.
“Mmm, you gonna suck his cock while I eat your pussy baby?”
Without warning Cam slips a finger between your folds to accompany the work of his tongue. Your hips arching off the bed into his touch as Jamie pulled you towards the edge of the bed, tilting your jaw to face him as he stroked his cock. Eyes falling to yours for the go ahead before slowly thrusting into your mouth.
“Holy…fuck.”
His hands falling to your hair, guiding you down as far as you’d let him. Gagging as you deepthroated him, Jamie’s breathing harsh as his head fell back at the feeling.
“Mm, she being a good girl for you Jim?”
“So fucking good.”
Jamie’s eyes met yours as he watched you take all of him in your mouth, his grip tightening in your hair as he fought the urge to fuck your face. Wanting to go easy on you and not rush anything.
Cam dipped a second finger into you without warning, picking up his pace as your hips bucked against him. His free hand moving to hold your hips in place. Wanting to help you ride out your orgasm.
“Fuck, oh my god Cam I’m gonna cum.”
“Don’t stop fucking her face Jim, make her take it.”
Jamie grabbed your hair, finally giving in to his urges. Thrusting into you as his cock hit your throat, eyes watering as you felt your climax closing in. Cam’s tongue and fingers in unison as your clenched around them, hips lifting off the bed as you came. Your moans muffled as your mouth was preoccupied with Jamie’s cock.
“Mm, she tastes so fucking good Jim. Come try for yourself.”
Jamie pulled his cock from your lips, taking Cam’s place between your legs. His eyes flashing up to you for approval before you gripped his hair and urged him to taste you.
Cam positioning himself behind you as his hands gripped your breasts, kneading the skin before focusing on your nipples as he watched Jamie along with you.
Jamie’s tongue slowly traced your slit, stopping to pay attention to your clit, the sensation causing you to buck against his face as you were still coming down from your high. Cam’s lips falling to your neck, kissing and biting at the skin before he brought your lips to his.
Hearing you moan into his mouth let him know Jamie was doing a good job. He watched as your hands gripped his hair tight, grinding your hips to match the rhythm of his tongue and fingers.
“You want him to fuck you now? I think you can handle it baby.”
Biting your lip you nodded your head, fingers releasing their grip in Jamie’s hair, though he continued. Enjoying the taste of you as he’d felt you tighten your grip on his fingers, letting him know you were close.
“Tell him what you want, use your words.”
“Please Jamie, fuck me. I need you.”
The words pouring from your lips like magic to his ears, his cock twitching at the sound of you begging for him. Pulling his fingers from you, immediately earning a whine as you already missed the contact. Cam’s fingers soon taking over as Jamie lined himself with your entrance.
He stroked himself a few times before thrusting into you, the feeling of Jamie’s cock stretching you while Cam’s fingers circled your clit had you seeing black.
“How does she feel Jim?”
“So fucking tight, fuck!”
Jamie’s hands gripped your hips as he couldn’t bother going slow, his thrusts hard and quick as he’d already been close since you’d had him in your mouth.
“Does he feel good baby? Stretching you out while I rub your clit?”
Cam’s cocky smirk was working overtime. You always assumed he was a freak, but you swore he was made for sex. The way dirty talk rolled off his lips and had you dripping wet at the sound, you were wondering how you’d gone so long without this.
“Mhm, feels so fucking good. I, I’m so close. Please don’t fucking stop.”
But instead he pulled himself from you, a gasp catching in your throat as you’d had your climax halted from the immediate loss.
You looked at Jamie as he climbed onto the bed, laying down next to you as he stroked himself.
“It’s only fair Cam gets a chance to feel how tight you are too baby.”
The sound of Jamie calling you baby had you melting, rolling over onto your knees as Cam gladly took advantage of the opportunity to fuck you from behind. His grip tight on your hip as he teased your slit with his cock, loving how wet you were.
“Ready baby?”
Ready as you’d ever be.
You’d taken Jamie’s cock back into your mouth as his hands tangled into your hair, forcing you down his length as Cam finally thrusts into you. Your moans muffled as you deepthroated Jamie, Cam’s fingers leaving bruises on your skin as he held you while his thrusts showed no signs of ceasing.
“Fuck, pussy is so tight baby. Jimmy didn’t stretch you out too much huh?”
“Fuck you Cam!”
You watched as Jamie spat back at Cam before his eyes reconnected with yours as your hand began working in unison with your mouth. His hips bucking against you as he grew close to his climax.
“Shit…I’m gonna cum baby. Keep sucking his cock, make sure he cums for you.”
“Mmm, shit. I’m gonna cum.”
Both boys moans turning you on, the low groans and grunts that spilt from their lips as they both were nearing their peaks. Watching as Jamie’s abs twitched while his breaths were short and choppy.
“Yes, fuck, ah”
The boys groaned out almost in unison. Jamie’s head fell back against the pillow as he came, your mouth still on his length as you felt the warmth of his seed hit the back of your throat. Making sure to swallow it all while you felt Cam pull his length from you as he came on your ass.
The three of you sweaty and exhausted as you tried to catch your breath. Cam heading to the restroom to grab a towel, while Jamie found you a tshirt and himself some shorts.
As the three of you got cleaned up, you nestled between the two of them under the blankets. Your head on Jamie’s chest with your legs were tangled with Cam’s, his fingers tracing circles on your thigh.
“So, you think you’ll be more likely to come visit us in Philly next season?”
Cam raised an eyebrow at you while Jamie just laughed, a hand running through your hair as you shrugged.
“I mean, if the visit is anything like tonight, I don’t see why not.”
The boys both smiling at your answer, pleased with themselves that they didn’t disappoint. Happy to have finally gotten the chance at something they were sure would never happen.
“I think the real question we want to know is, who was better? And it’s okay if you need to tell Cam he was better just so his feelings don’t get hurt, I understand.”
Rolling your eyes you could not believe how competitive they truly were. Although you could, considering that they made it a point to trash talk each other during sex.
“Mmm, hate to say it but I think it’s a tie. We might need to try again to solidify a winner?”

Prompt: Shadow (@into-the-jeggyverse) | Pairing: Jegulus | Word Count: 463
“I’m not brave like Sirius.” Regulus murmured through the stillness of the air between them. James’ body was wrapped around him like a cocoon; arms and legs locked around his smaller frame and Regulus’ face nestled into James’ neck where he placed kisses every so often. They were in James four poster bed, the curtains drawn, and a silencing charm placed around them for total privacy.
“Who says you have to be like Sirius?” James answered back after a few moments, his tone soft and curious.
“I’m going home tomorrow, James.” Regulus sighed, closing his eyes tight. He wished he could be transported into another life. Just temporarily, maybe until Winter holidays were over and he could be back at Hogwarts ignoring the war raging outside the castle walls. “My parents expect me to take the mark.. I..”
James loosened his arm around Regulus so he could bring his hand up to card his fingers through Regulus’ dark curls. It always calmed the younger down. “Have you changed your mind?” James hated the way his stomach flipped at the thought of Regulus living for his parents and not himself. He knew what a good person Regulus was, he knew how pure his heart is. Sometimes he just struggled to make good choices.
“No.” he said firmly. His decision had been made. He wouldn’t be getting the mark. He didn’t want it. Now it was just relaying that piece of information to his parents. “I’m not getting it. I’m just scared. Terrified, actually.”
“No one expects you to be like Sirius. I’m glad you’re not like Padfoot, he’s an idiot half of the time.” James laughed fondly. “You’re brave too, Reg. By refusing the mark, telling your parents where you stand, stepping out from the shadows of how you were raised to be your own person—that’s so incredibly brave of you.”
“It doesn’t feel like it.”
“Maybe not right now, but it will once you finally tell them.” James’ moved a lock of hair behind Regulus’ ear, and slid his fingers down his jawline. He cupped his chin and pulled back a little so he could see Regulus’ face. Regulus’ grey eyes met James’ hazel. “No matter how the conversation goes, you have me. That means you’ll always have a home, a safe space, and someone who loves you just as you are. I won’t let you drown, Regulus.”
Regulus gave a slight nod of his head, leaned in and pressed their lips together in a chaste kiss. “I know, Jamie. I love you.”
Regulus wasn’t sure how the conversation with his parents would go, although he had some ideas, but he knew he would always have a place with James Potter and that was enough to calm his nerves for the night.

Sweet Nothings
all that you ever wanted for me was nothing
Pairing: Jamie Tartt x reader
Warnings: none :)
Word Count: 2k
Author’s Note: shoutout to the muse (whether I mean Jamie Tartt or @andr0medafallen is up to speculation)
Tumblr media
It’s amazing to you how comfortable you feel with Jamie Tartt. When he’d first asked you out, you’d expected nothing to come of it. You’d grown up with the idea that when you meet your special someone, it’s going to be so obvious everyone should be able to tell, there should be angels singing and your heart should be pumping and you should realize that this is who you want to be with for the rest of your life.
Instead, Jamie had dropped you off after dinner with a wave and a promise to text you when he makes it home safely.
The next day, you’d invited him on a hike through some trail you’d found a few hours outside of London, just wanting to get out in nature for a while without being completely alone. You’d gone back and forth after that, Jamie asking you out one night and you asking him out the next until the two of you had been going out for over a year.
There had never been one of those big realization moments, just a genuine connection where the two of you just want to be near each other. Of course, Jamie’s unbelievably beautiful and you love his floppy, highlighted hair, but that was never the reason you’d kept going out with him. You just liked being around him.
You liked being around him so much you’d been dating for a year and you have your own drawer in his bedroom.
Now, you roll over towards Jamie’s side of the bed and stretch, squinting into the sunlight that’s streaming through the open curtains. A glance at the clock on Jamie’s bedside table, combined with the cold sheets, tells you that he’s been up for hours, and if you really focus you can hear him downstairs, probably making breakfast after returning from his early morning training.
Next to his clock, there’s a tiny pebble, one that brings a smile to your face every single time you see it. It’s nothing special, just a small, slightly sparkly gray rock, but it’s from that second day you’d spent together when you’d gone on that hike. You remember finding the glimmering rock on your way to the parking lot, and you’d smiled and slipped it into Jamie’s hoodie pocket.
You didn’t know he’d kept it or even noticed it until you started spending the night at Jamie’s place and now you can’t help but smile at it every time you see it. Sometimes it’s hard for you to remember that your Jamie, the one who keeps pebbles just because you’d slipped it into his pocket, is the same Jamie that’s a demon on the pitch, who’s one of the best players in the league because of his tendency to act like a prick.
It seems impossible sometimes, that those two distinct personalities belong to the same person, but it makes you love him just a bit more to know that he feels safe enough with you to let his guard down, that he never feels embarrassed to ask for you to play with his hair and gets excited whenever he sees something that reminds you of him.
In all of your past relationships, you’d thought you had such deep, emotional connections, like you’d met the person you were going to spend the rest of your life with, but that had all ended in disaster. You’d been left heartbroken and embarrassed more times than you’d like to admit but it all seems so different with Jamie. Of course the two of you have an emotional and physical connection, but you’ve learned that love is so much more than that. At the end of a long day, all you want is to come home to Jamie, and you can’t remember ever feeling that way before.
When you finally manage to take your eyes off the glimmering pebble and get out of bed, you throw on one of Jamie’s sweatshirts before making your way downstairs where you’re greeted with the most beautiful sight: Jamie’s at the stove, pajama pants low on his hips, shirt off and hair mused while he hums mindlessly as he makes breakfast.
It’s a little shocking that he’s still in his pajamas, still has that bed-head that you love so much when typically, he’s already been up for hours training with Roy. It’s such a beautiful sight, though, that you don’t want to say anything to make him lose focus, but when he turns and notices you a big, beautiful smile grows on his face and you wish you’d said something sooner.
“G’morning,” he says as he turns off the stove, voice raspy and making his way over to plant a kiss on your forehead, “thought you were still asleep, I was gonna bring you breakfast.” Your heart aches at that, at how goddamn sweet Jamie is and how so much of the world doesn’t see that. Though, you suppose you should feel lucky that you’re one of the only people who get to see this sweet, pretty, sleepy Jamie.
“I can go back upstairs and pretend to be asleep, if you want,” you tell him as he turns back to finish breakfast and you can’t help but wrap your arms around him and lean your head against his back, delighting in the way you can feel his chuckle rather than hear it. “I thought you were supposed to be training with Roy.”
You feel him shrug before he says, “He canceled.” and it seems like a lie but you don’t feel like pushing, don’t feel like questioning the wonderful, rare gift that is Jamie in the mornings. No matter how much time you spend together, it always seems like it’ll never be enough, you’re always left wishing you could have a few extra minutes in your days just to spend with Jamie.
At first, it had been a little bit frightening when you realized just how much time you spent together, but the hours always flew by. It wasn’t until months after you’d been together that you realized you just genuinely enjoyed being around him, that you got excited to do mundane things together like make dinner or read next to each other, not even talking but just being near each other.
It wasn’t love how you’d known it previously, big and flashy and showy so everyone knew how you felt. It wasn’t a performance for the tabloids or your parents, it was something sweet and soft and private just for the two of you. The realization that you were in love with Jamie didn’t come like a smack in the face but instead like you’d remembered something you’d forgotten.
Loving Jamie felt like pancakes for breakfast and messy hair, sweatshirts clean from the wash and oversized pajama pants, a warm cup of tea and your favorite snacks. It was easy to love him, soft and something just for the two of you to share, not the whole world.
So instead of questioning why you get to spend a rare morning together, you place a kiss on his bare shoulder before turning to set the table and he finishes plating the food. Breakfast is typically a quick affair on the mornings you spend together, but today the meal stretches long like taffy, the two of you sitting at the table long after the food is gone, just soaking up time together before Jamie needs to leave for training.
That time never arrives, though, and as you send a worried glance towards Jamie after checking the time, you realize he’s smiling at you.
“What did you do now?” You ask, heart fluttering when he laughs in response.
“Nothing!” You shoot him a look, one that sends him laughing again at your seriousness, so he goes on, “I knew you had the day off and I couldn’t bear to think of being away from you, so I told Roy I was sick.”
“He believed that?”
“I gave graphic details,” and then it’s your turn to laugh, so full of love for the wonderful, silly man in front of you.
There aren’t many people who would pretend to get sick just so they could spend more time with you, and while you were sure Jamie was joking about not being able to bear being apart, you know how he feels. Sometimes, when you have to go back to your own apartment to take care of your plants or bring over more clothes, your heart breaks a little bit at the idea of spending time apart. Sometimes, you worry that it’s unhealthy to want to be with someone that often, but then you remember all the weeks you’d spent apart throughout your relationship and realize that you’re perfectly capable of spending time by yourself.
You don’t need Jamie to survive, but spending your days with him makes your life so much better, so much more enjoyable. It’s as if colors are brighter when you’re with him, it’s easier to smile and laugh with him by your side. So while you could spend time apart, and you often do, you’d choose to be with him any day of the week.
“So what are our big plans for today?” You ask as the two of you do the dishes together, even if you spend more time splashing each other than actually doing any work.
“Dunno,” he shrugs, “whatever you want to do. Make dinner together, weed the garden, you could finish that book you’ve been talking about.”
“Sounds perfect,” you tell him, and it really does sound perfect, and your heart swells a little when he remembers how badly you’ve been wanting time to finish your current read, something you’d been attempting to do for weeks but kept getting more and more work added to your plate.
The fact that he remembers is small but meaningful, like so many of the gestures that make up your relationship, like the fact that he’s skipping training to be with you, like the fact that he wanted to make you breakfast in bed, like the fact that he keeps that pebble by his clock where he can see it every single morning.
You don’t have time to dwell on that overwhelming affection, though, because Jamie took the opportunity of your distraction to drench you with water, and you couldn’t be mad at him even if you tried because he just looks so happy, so pleased with himself. Really, you have no choice but to splash him back, not even thinking of all the water that’s getting on the countertops and the floor.
By the time you manage to stop splashing each other and stop laughing, you’re both completely soaked and the two of you head upstairs to change before getting on with your day.
“I was thinking,” Jamie starts as he’s in the middle of pulling a shirt over his head, “that maybe you just move in with me? I mean, you basically live here all the time and it’s not that I don’t like your apartment, it’s great, there’s just more space here and it’s closer to your work, except if you want to keep your apartment because I’m not trying to take away your independence or nothing like that-“
“Jamie,” you need to cut him off, end his nervous ramblings as cute as you think he is because you know once he starts it’s impossible for him to stop, “I’d love to move in with you.”
“Yeah? For sure?”
“For sure,” and Jamie gets a grin so wide it’s impossible not to smile back at him, impossible not to kiss him even through your happy giggles, impossible for the two of you to not end up back on the bed together.
Once you get dressed and stay dressed, it’s already the afternoon and you decide it’s the perfect time for you to finish your book, so you settle yourself on the couch with some snacks and your favorite drink, one that Jamie makes sure is always stocked in the fridge. Jamie settles down next to you, busy with something on his phone as you sit and devour your book.
There’s something so wonderful about simply existing with someone, sitting close but remaining silent and focused on your own tasks. There’s something so special about that, you realize as you finally finish with your book, about how even sitting next to Jamie makes you feel happier, feel more relaxed, feel more comfortable. Just being near him brings you peace, and that’s something you never thought you’d have.

soulmates part 1
luke hughes x reader
Tumblr media
part 2 here! series masterlist here!
tw!!: none other than some language! use of y/n, reader can be depicted as any body shape/size.
this story moves kinda fast, since I want it to only be a couple of parts long. it's also pretty cringey...sorry about that lol
warning: this is a complete work of fiction. I am no way saying or implying that these people act the way the do in the story. I am open to any sort of constructive criticism! thank you!
I take another sip of my drink and look over at jack who has his arm around his 'fling of the day' as the guys and I like to call it. she's blonde with green eyes, which seems to be his type since that's what most of the girls he brings around look like. with a shake of my head and a sigh, I look over at timo, who gives me a understanding look with a chuckle. I ruffle my hair that is still damp from jumping off the boat into the lake with the guys earlier while I stand up and walk over to the kitchen island to talk to jamie, dawson, and john.
"yo luke!" dawson says, grabbing my shoulders and shaking me a little, "what's life like having to watch jack and his fling of day all the time?" he questions with a laugh, slapping me on the shoulder. my eyebrows raise and I sigh, shaking my head with a laugh. "its interesting, I guess." I say, shrugging my shoulders.
"you guess?" john asks, taking a sip of his beer. "doesn't it get annoying after a while? ya know? constantly coming home and he has some random girl in the house or when he comes home he has a girl? that would annoy the fuck outta me dude. I would honestly pack up my stuff and live somewhere else." he says with a chuckle, trying to lighten the conversation to some extent but it doesn't work.
"I've just gotten used to it over time. when we're in jersey I just go out for a walk or I just go over to cap's house and hang out with him. when we're here I just go out in the boat and stay in the middle of the lake for a while." I say with a shrug.
and its true, sad, but true. I'm just glad quinn doesn't act this way. at least, I don't think he does. I'm not in vancouver with him everyday so I wouldn't really know. but I don't really see quinn acting that way. jack's always been a bit of a player, but when all the guys are around during the off season he seems to want to show off.
sure, I've had a couple hookups here and there, but nothing like jack. he's my brother and I love him, but recently his player antics have been getting worse. I admit, I've been looking into some apartments lately. it's not like I can't afford them, because I can, it's just the fact that me and jack have lived in the same place for basically our whole lives. first it was our house and now it's our apartment in jersey. I don't wanna move away from him just because of some girls he brings back.
I make some more small talk with the guys, now including trevor, who had just woken up from his nap on the couch, and quinn, who had recently come out of his room after his shower, when the doorbell rings.
jack jumps up, almost knocking his girl on the floor in the process, and runs to the door. "I got it!!" he says, disappearing into the hallway that leads to the front door. the guys and I make our way to the couch, taking our seats and continuing our conversation.
soon enough, jack walks back in with nobody. "quinn, there's some girl here to see you. she's putting her stuff up and then she'll be in here." he sighs, sitting back down with his girl, who I've now learned is named kaitlyn. I look at quinn, who is looking at me with a confused look on his face, before he stands, waiting to greet who ever is here to see him.
Then, she walks in. she has got to be one of the prettiest girls I have ever seen in my life. her flowy hair, that sort of bounces with almost every step, her blue canucks jersey that fits her curves like a dream, and her eyes. god, her eyes are gorgeous.
I'm snapped out of my daze by her voice, "quinny!!" she says, practically running to quinn, who's face lights up, before grabbing her and hugging her tightly. they hug for a while and I can hear them talking, but i can't hear what they're saying. after a minute or two, they pull away looking at each other happily. brock stands and walks to the unnamed girl with open arms, yelling her name, and embracing her in a hug.
"everyone," quinn starts, "this is y/n. she lives in vancouver with me and works in media for the canucks so this is a surprise that she's here." he says, looking at her with a smile.
I can tell her likes her, crush or not, quinn likes her. he never smiles like that for anyone. she smiles back, and waves hello, a tiny of blush on her cheeks. she then makes eye contact with me, eyes widening a bit and her cheeks getting a bit redder before quinn pulls her away to introduce her to everyone.
I gulp, realizing that quinn's best friend might be the death of me. I get up quickly, walking outside with my drink in hand. I sit in a chair facing the lake and take in the sunset. I can't help but think about her as I sip my drink.
y/n's pov
"and this is the middle brother, jack, and his girlfriend, kaitlyn." quinn gestures to them, and jack stands to give me a handshake, but eventually settles on a hug. I notice that his girlfriend is eyeing me hard. but the look I give her back is enough to get her to look away. "and luke is over there." quinn points to where he and luke were previously sitting on the couch, but luke is nowhere to be seen. quinn frowns, before looking around and finally spotting him sitting outside on the deck through the window.
"you can stay in here, quinny. I can go introduce myself on my own." I say, smiling before quinn does as well, walking back to take his seat beside who I think is a guy named trevor.
it's a short walk to the porch outside. the sun is glaring in my face so I pull my sunglasses down from my head to cover my eyes. the wooden boards of the deck clack as I step on them, making my way to luke.
I sit in the seat beside him as he turns to look at me with a suspicious look on his face, wondering who followed him outside. I give him a smile and makes eye contact with him, which he returns for s split second before looking away. "hi luke! my name is y/n. it's so nice to finally meet you! quinn has told me so much about you." I say, hoping to get him to look back at me.
all he does is nod and say a quick hello with a 'nice to meet you'. I frown, my gaze settling on the wooden boards below our feet. I sigh, and stand back up, walking back to the house.
my mind is racing as I try to figure out why he won't talk to me or even look at me. maybe he's tired? maybe he just wants some privacy? I'm not sure but the sadness in my eyes is evident when I walk back into the lake house, my eyes meeting Quinn's and I give him a small smile which he returns with a frown.
Quinn walks to me and puts his hand on my shoulder as he leans in to whisper something in my ear. "I'm sorry about luke. I'm not sure what's gotten into him. I'll talk to him and see if he'll come around." he pulls back and gives me a smile before he walks outside.
"hey y/n!!! come sit with us!" I hear a voice say, soon figuring out it was that trevor guy. I smile and make my way to them.
luke's pov
my heart is racing when she sits beside me. I can't believe quinn is friends with such a beautiful girl. I feel my cheeks begin to heat up even more when she mentions how much quinn has talked about me.
I try to be nice to her and return her greeting but I just can't focus on what she's saying. my mind is thinking at a billion miles per hour, wondering what quinn had told her about me and whether I need to be worried if it's bad.
I'm so focused on my own thoughts that I don't even realize she's gotten up to leave until she was halfway back to the house. I stand, and outstretch my hand, wanting to call her name and tell her to come back, but nothing leaves my mouth.
I sit back down and wonder what I just did. is she gonna hate me now? is she wondering why I won't talk to her? does she think that I think that she's ugly and I don't wanna look at her?
I'm pulled out of my thoughts by a hand touching my shoulder and a voice calling my name. I snap out if it and look over at the person. its quinn. he's got a worried look mixed with a bit of anger on his face.
"why won't you talk to her?" he says, crossing his arms and looking at me with a look of confusion. "she was so excited to meet you and jack and you won't even look at her. I told her that you two would get along so well and she's been so excited ever since. what's the deal?"
his voice gets louder at the end of his questioning. I can tell he really cares about her.
"i don't know..." my voice trails off and I look down, fiddling with my fingers.
"you don't know?? luke, she was more excited to meet you more than anyone else. I didn't know that she was coming down today or even at all but I was planning in buying her plane tickets later to get her down here tomorrow or the next day so she could meet all of my friends and family. I don't understand what has gotten into you, luke." quinn's head shakes in disappointment and disbelief.
"listen quinn, I'm sorry. I don't know what's gotten into me either." I say, about to play everything off. and then it all comes out. "all I know is that she's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen in my life. I don't even know anything about her but I can already tell that I'm about to have the biggest crush on this girl. so seems so kind and so fun from what I've seen. which is not much but still! I can already tell what kind of person she is. she just gives me that feeling of kindness. please don't tell her that I said any of that and I'm so sorry quinn."
I don't think I've even spoken faster in my life. quinn's face went from disappointment and anger to disbelief and happiness in a split second. he jumps up and puts his hands on my shoulders.
"luke. I wanted to bring her down not only to meet all of you guys, but I wanted her to meet you. you're perfect for each other! she's always so happy and excited for everything and that's just what you need! I'm not saying you're a huge party pooper or whatever, but sometimes you need more excitement in your life! look at jack. he's living his best life right now. sure, he's definitely had way too many girlfriends, but that's what makes him happy and you deserve something or someone that will make you happy too. if you wanna date her, go ahead. y/n hasn't had the greatest experience with relationships. and I think that you could change all of that for her. so I'm absolutely fine with it if you wanna take her out."
quinn's words shock me. he stands there with an excited look on his face and he urges me to stand up.
"I guess I should talk to her then." I look at quinn with a smile and he puts his arm around my shoulders, laughing excitedly as we walk back to the house.

EWAN MITCHELL TALKING ABOUT AEMOND TARGARYEN IN EPISODE 3 FOR VULTURE MAGAZINE.
I CAN'T REMEMBER THE EXACT WORDING, BUT I REMEMBER SEEING SOMEONE POST A GIF OF PRINCE AEMOND'S SAPPHIRE-EYEBALL REVEAL AND SAYING, "THIS IS THE MOST ANIME-LOOKING MOTHERFUCKER WHO HAS EVER APPEARED ON A LIVE-ACTION TELEVISION SHOW." THERE'S AN OTHERWORDLY AIR TO HIM.
"So much of the work is done through the costume and the long hair and the eyepatch — because of the talents of makeup designer Amanda Knight and our costume designer, Caroline McCall."
"By taking one look, you can make a rough assumption that he’s probably going to be the bad guy."
"But for me, bringing that otherworldly texture to Aemond, I never watched Game of Thrones, because I wanted to present something fresh."
"I drew on other aspects of pop culture, with ’80s horror icons like Michael Myers: a character who walks so slow but always catches up to Jamie Lee Curtis."
"Aemond hijacks the show and turns it into a horror sequence in the skies above Storm’s End at the end of episode ten of season one."
"It’s this idea of inevitability, something more like an energy as opposed to an actual human being."
"That’s the image Aemond wants to co-opt, that he’s godlike. He operates on a different plane."
"It comes from that cold exterior he’s cultivated over the years, down to the sapphire stone in his eye socket. You don’t know what is going on behind his eye."
THERE REALLY IS SOMETHING VERY "FINAL FANTASY VILLAIN" ABOUT HIM: ELEGANT BUT FIGHTENING.
"You don’t know what he’s thinking."
"People who sit back and smile, don’t say much — they’re the people whose brains you want to pick, but at the same time, you don’t know where you stand."
MY FAVORITE AEMOND MOMENTS ARE WHEN YOU DO GLIMPSE HOW HE FEELS. IN THAT CHASE SEQUENCE ABOVE STORM'S END, AEMOND IS REALLY UPSET WHEN HIS DRAGON KILLS LUCERYS VELARYON. IN THIS SEASON, HE TALKS TO THE SEX WORKER HE'S BEEN SEING ABOUT HOW IT GOT TO HIM.
"I agree. Between episodes seven and eight of season one, he’s manufactured himself into a weapon."
"He possesses this code that stops him from ever being hurt again, like he was as a kid."
"He has to be seen as this bulletproof, untouchable, ethereal presence no one can grasp."
HE BRINGS UP HIS CHILDHOOD IN THE BROTHEL, TOO — HOW HIS BROTHER AND HIS YOUNG UNCLES USED TO PICK ON HIN FOR BEING DIFFERENT. IS ALL THAT IN THE BACK OF YOUR MIND EVEN WHEN YOU'RE DOING THE COOL, SAPPHIRE-EYE STUFF?
"Yeah. It’s partly down to seeing the young Aemond actor, Leo Ashton, in episodes six and seven of season one: the boy underneath the veneer."
"This kid was bullied day in and day out for not having a dragon egg like the rest of the kids in the family. He recognized very early on that he was going to have to go out and get what he wanted."
"I always carried that around with me in season two."
"So he ended up claiming the largest, baddest, oldest dragon in the known world in Vhagar. She’s so enormous, she can’t fit within the confines of any castle wall. Aemond is able to identify with that."
HOW SO? THE BULLYING DIDN'T MAKE HIM FEEL SMALLER?
"It’s the story of the underdog. I have this theory that it’s not so much the person who claims the dragon, it’s the dragon who claims the person as well."
"I don’t believe Vhagar is someone you just stumble upon."
"Although Aemond had to seek her out, she must have seen something in him that he himself hadn’t seen yet."
"Aemond’s the kid who held on. When he realized he wouldn’t get a dragon egg like the rest of the kids, he held on."
"When he was bullied for being different, for not having a dragon of his own, he held on. And when Vhagar took off over the beaches of Driftmark in episode seven, he held on tighter than he’d ever done before."
"I don’t know if any of the other characters would have held on as strongly, because they were gifted dragons when they were kids."
"It’s a tremendous feat of courage to approach Vhagar."
"That’s one of Aemond’s redeeming qualities: He possesses a drive."
"Maybe that kid is still underneath that manufactured exterior."
I WAS HONESTLY SURPRISED TO FIND AEGON AND HIS BUDDIES STILL BULLYING AEMOND DURING THE BROTHEL SCENE IN THIS EPISODE. HISTORICALLY, BULLYING AEMOND HAS NOT WORKED OUT VERY WELL FOR PEOPLE.
"Aegon catches Aemond in a vulnerable spot."
"Picking up the script for the first time and seeing those brothel scenes in episode two and three, I saw a brilliant opportunity to offer a rare glimpse of his vulnerability."
"You only ever see him in his Targaryen blacks, so to see him in that world — not only that, but then humiliated by his brother — is quite shocking."
WHEN HE GETS UP AND WALKS OUT WITHOUT BOTHERING TO DRESS FIRST, SO SURE OF HIMSELF EVEN IN THE FACE OF THAT HUMILIATION, HE SEEMS SCARIER TO ME THAN WHEN HE'S RIDING ON VHAGAR.
I love that line from Michael Mann’s Heat, when Bob De Niro’s character says, “Don’t let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner.”
"That’s the code his character utilizes so he’s able to maneuver around this world without getting caught by Al Pacino."
"Aemond has a similar code that stops him from being hurt like he was as a kid."
"That’s why he’s able to walk out on the madam in that scene."
"He’s humiliated by his brother and all his crew, and it’s like this switch flips. The madam is no more."
"All of these people in front of him? They mean nothing. He stands up, he owns it — Yeah, I’m bulletproof. Anything you say, it will not work. Like you say, it’s scary."
A LOT OF COMPARISIONS ARE MADE BETWEEN AEMOND AND DAEMON, BUT THAT'S A BIG DIFFERENCE: DAEMON GETS INTENSELY ATTACHED, WHETHER TO HIS LATE BROTHER KING VISERYS OR TO HIS NIECE AND WIFE QUEEN RHAENYRA. WE'RE SEEN HIM LEAVE DIFFICULT SITUATIONS, BUT HE STORMS OUT, HE DOESN'T GLIDE OUT. THAT'S AEMOND.
"One hundred percent. You rarely see him lose his cool."
"As soon as you start raising your voice and shouting, you lose the power."
"It’s not to say Aemond isn’t as angry as everyone else behind the smile. He probably is. But he’s able to keep a lid on it and channel it in different ways."
IT'S ALSO A NUDE SCENE, AND I HAVE A FEELING YOU'RE ABOUT TO GET A REACTION AT A VOLUME FEW PEOPLE ON THIS SHOW HAVE SEEN BEFORE. DID YOU HAVE THAT IN MIND WHILE SHOOTING IT?
Mitchell says that the dragon-rider’s display, a topic of much discussion between himself and the creative team prior to filming, was a move “encoded in Aemond’s DNA” — a shock tactic designed to demonstrate that this once-bullied boy will never allow himself to be chastened again.
"Scenes like this start with a conversation about how far you’re prepared to go. It wasn’t a choice we made lightly."
"But it’s true to Aemond that he shocks the audience."
"Weakness is not part of Aemond’s vocabulary."

Silver Springs - Jamie Tartt x Fem!Reader/Roy Kent x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
Silver Springs - Jamie Tartt xFem!Reader, Roy Kent x FemReader!
Content - angst, flirting, friends to lovers, love triangle
Word Count - 3k
Summary - Whilst Jamie is in the throes of preparing for the Man City game, Roy tries to show the reader that he's noticed her past just being the coaches’ assistant, even if it makes him feel guilty.
Read Part One Here
A/N - Part 2 of this love triangle fic, let’s gooooo. As always like and reblog if you enjoy and let me know what you think <33
It had been about a week since Jamie had kissed you, and things weren’t official. You couldn’t say you weren’t disappointed, but you understood the mental stress he was under with the upcoming Man City match. Being able to be intimately close to him was enough, because you knew he needed the comfort. Sitting on your couch and stroking his hair as you felt his breathing become deeper made you more than content.
You sigh slightly to yourself and open your laptop, your color coded calendar coming to life. You glance to the corner of your screen, looking at the time. Bright and early with plenty of time to move appointments and schedule other needed meetings. You sat at your desk in the small room off of Ted and Beard’s. Your deskmate wasn’t there yet. He actually grunted every time you called him your “deskmate”, but annoying Roy Kent was one of the perks of this job.
“Hey, love.” You would recognize his voice anywhere, and you look up to see Jamie leaning on the doorframe. He crosses the room and gives you a sweet peck on the lips, then plants another kiss on the top of your head. He crosses through your office to the locker room and you smile to yourself. What a perfect start to your day, a kiss from the man you had wanted to be with for so long. You look back to your screen and start moving appointments, adding in the important dates Ted left on a football shaped sticky note, including the latest visit from Henry.
A slight thud on your desk has you tearing your eyes away from your computer screen. You see a take-away coffee cup with the name “RAY” written in big, scratchy letters. You look up, greeted with a glowering, bushy eyebrowed face. “Can I help you…Ray?” You grin gesturing to the coffee cup.
“Fuck’s sake.” He grunts. “I brought you coffee.” He scoots the coffee cup closer to you, and you raise an eyebrow, Roy Kent was bringing you coffee?
“Thank you…but why?”
“What do you fuckin’ mean why? Cause you’re nice and you’re always bringing everyone else coffee.” He says gruffly, dropping his iconic black leather jacket onto his own chair, revealing his tight fitting black tshirt underneath. You take a sip of the coffee to avoid gazing at him, you had eyes and knew he was fit. You were pleasantly surprised at your drink.
“How’d you know my order?” You say, taking another delighted sip of your drink. You watch Roy’s jaw jump slightly and he shrugs.
“Must have just picked up on it.” He says nonchalantly. In reality, he snooped around your desk the night previous, but he wasn’t going to admit to that. That sounded insane. He felt like a terrible person. He and Tartt were on good terms again, friends even, and here he was trying to win over the girl he knew Jamie was mad about. He was a prick. And a bad friend. But he couldn’t help it. Something about you drew him to you, and you made him want to open up to the possibility of being in a serious relationship again.
You smile slightly at Roy’s back, flattered that he had done this for you. You were still a bit baffled as to why. It’s not as if Roy wasn’t nice to you, he was. But usually he answered you in growls, not full sentences. “Well…I really appreciate it. I didn’t have time to grab coffee this morning before getting to work.”
Roy turns to look at you, one corner of his lips ticking upwards. “Don’t mention it.” He says. “Seriously, fuckin’ don’t.” You openly laugh at this and turn back to your computer screen.
“What is all that shit anyway?” Roy asks, and you can feel him cross the tiny space to stand over your shoulder. When he leans over and places one hand on your desk and one on the arm of your desk chair, you feel your heart skip a beat. Which was dumb. Why would that be your reaction? You ignore the feeling and shrug.
“This is how you get your extra physio appointments, how Ted has time to review game footage every other day, and how Beard knows when it’s time to exchange his library books.” You look up at him. “It’s all color coded for every member of the team. I’m pretty proud of it, if I do say so myself.” You give him a small smile and go back to typing in the extra appointments Ted had asked you to put in.
“Fuck.” Roy says, watching you work the schedule around. “Now I understand why Ted said he didn’t know which way was up without you.”
“Aw, you talk to Ted about little ole me?” You flash him a teasing grin and his heart wrenches. Fuck you and your stupid, pretty grin.
“Uh…” Roy starts, coughing slightly to cover his embarrassment.
You pat the hand resting on your desk before you continue typing. “I’m just kidding, Roy.”
Roy clears his throat, but still hadn’t moved from his spot. He seemed content to watch you work, which was unusual for him, but you didn’t mind. He was a little close, sure, but if he wanted to watch you put in appointments and move Sam’s restaurant re-opening for him then who were you to tell him no?
“Love?” You look up at the sound of Jamie’s pet name for you and smile brightly at him.
“Hi!”
“Am…I interruptin’ somethin’?” Jamie asks, pushing his hair back with his headband, looking from you to Roy. Why was Roy so close to you? That made him feel uneasy, but he wasn’t sure why. He knew that you had feelings for him, but he hadn’t made anything official. He supposed he couldn’t blame you for exploring your options. His eyes meet Roy’s, who clears his throat and straightens up, away from you.
“No.” Roy says gruffly. “I was just looking at the insane color coding she has in there.”
Jamie nods slightly, looking to you, who he was relieved to see, only had eyes for him.  He crosses the room to you, kneeling in front of where you sat, and you look down at him, eyebrow raised. He grins at you.
“I jus’ wanted to come see if you wanted to have lunch with me today.” He says, ignoring Roy completely at this point. You nod enthusiastically, pushing a strand of hair that came loose from the headband back.
“Course I do.” You said, smiling at him. “Meet you at the kebab place around the corner?” You ask, to which Jamie nods. He glances at Roy, who is pretending to be preoccupied on his phone and presses his lips to yours in a sweet, soft kiss.
“Great. See ya then, darlin’.” You smile as you watch him walk out, quickly turning back to your work. Next on the agenda, emails.
“So.” You hear.
You turn towards Roy’s voice. “So..?”
“You and Tartt, yeah?”
You shrug. “Nothing is official yet.” You say nonchalantly, trying to hide just how giddy you were about Jamie openly kissing you and referring to you as “love” or “darlin’”.
“Not fuckin’ official?” Roy says, incredulous. This was news to him.
“Not yet.”
“Why the bloody hell not?” Roy crosses the room again and peers down at you.
You look back up at him and wave your hand absentmindedly. “Jamie is already stressed about this upcoming match, I can wait until his head is completely clear to have a serious conversation.” You pick up your coffee cup again, taking a sip of the delicious hazelnut latte.
But you nearly choke when Roy leans down, one hand on each of your chair’s armrests, caging you in. His face is inches from yours.
“That’s fuckin’ dumb, babe.”
You lower the coffee cup from your lips, studying his face intently. Your heart was pounding. Babe? What was he doing? Never in the entire few years you had been here, had the Roy Kent paid so much attention to you.
“Hm.” You say, quirking an eyebrow. “And why is that dumb?”
Roy smirks slightly. “Because if I had you, I wouldn’t even fuckin’ hesitate to claim you.”
You realized you were holding your breath and you laugh nervously. “O..oh.” You say, swallowing. “Well I don’t think Jamie is hesitating to claim me.” You look into his face, because he was making it impossible not to notice how handsome he actually is. Sure, you weren’t public with your relationship, but Jamie didn’t hide how he felt about you, at all.
“Maybe not here. But I would be shouting from the fuckin’ rooftops if I had someone as nice as you smiling pretty at me like you do Jamie.” You can see him studying your face, and in reality, Roy’s heart is pounding. He’s getting a bit too carried away here and he didn’t know when or how to stop.
“Maybe you could have someone with a pretty smile if you weren’t such a grouch.” You counter, leaning in closer to him, aware now that you were having some sort of effect on him. You watch him swallow, his eyes flicking down to your lips. You smirk at him.
He growls in response, catching you completely off guard that you had elicited such a sound from him but making you smirk even more. You press a single finger against his lips, standing up as you push him back.
“See? Grouch.” You tease, moving your finger but before you can rest your hand at your side again, Roy looks down at you, catching your wrist in his hand.
“Fuck’s sake, woman.” He says, almost breathlessly. You look up at him, fluttering your eyelashes innocently, but trying to deny the fact that you liked how his large hand had caught you. The look on your face was all it took for Roy to back you into a wall, his lips on yours. One hand with his fingers splayed across your hip, digging greedily, almost possessively, the other letting go of your wrist to yank you closer to him, if that was even possible. The kiss was sloppy, heated, needy. The heat of your body pressed against Roy’s was making your head cloudy. When he deepens the kiss, your breath hitches and a slight moan escapes your lips, causing Roy to smirk into your lips.
You felt so bad that you kissed him back. When Roy pulled away, he immediately lets go of you.
“I…I shouldn’t have fuckin’ done that.”
What were you doing? What about Jamie? “I..shouldn’t have kissed you back.” You whispered, wide eyed. Roy has stepped back and away from you, but he’s watching you with such a look of longing. “I’m the worst girlfriend ever.” You say.
“Not his girlfriend, technically.”
You shift your gaze and focus your eyes on him. “What?” You say.
“You’re not his girlfriend officially.” Roy grunts, before stepping closer to you again. “I get if you don’t ever fuckin’ speak to me again. Just don’t tell me you regretted that.”
You gaze up at him. No, you’re not Jamie’s girlfriend. But Jamie is everything you ever wanted. And it made you feel horrible that you didn’t regret that little kiss-attack. You shake your head slowly, watching as Roy came close to you again, hovering above you, his torso pressing into you. “Please.” He says.
The gruff, broken plea in his voice makes your knees weak and you shake your head. “I can’t tell you that.” You say, clearing your throat and straightening up, your breath slightly heavy.
“Even if I know you don’t?” He says grabbing your chin, looking into your eyes.
Your eyes flutter closed and you breathe out. “Yes.” You hated him right now. How did he manage to get a rise out of you so quickly? You pull your face away from his grasp and push yourself off the wall. “I need to go.” You say bluntly, gathering your laptop and your bag. Roy steps back and watches you go, rushing out the door.
Tumblr media
You cannot believe what had just happened. You were so distracted that you run smack into someone in the carpark, their arms grabbing you and steadying you.
“Woah, love, what’s wrong? You look like ya’ seen a ghost.”
Jamie. Because of course it was Jamie. You can’t even look him in the eye and he moves his head to catch your gaze. “M’startin’ to worry here, darlin’, what’s wrong?” He asks again, his grip tightening a bit on you. He had a horrible sinking feeling in his stomach. Like he knew what was coming next.
“We can’t be together.” You say bluntly.
Jamie blinks once, then twice. “What?”
“You deserve someone better than me.”
Jamie still looks dumbfounded, but was becoming almost desperate to find out what you were talking about. “Please tell me what you’re talkin’ about, because I’m gettin’ a little scared.”
“I…” you look away from him again. “I kissed Roy. Or…he kissed me.”
Jamie winces. “Y-what?…kissed Roy?”
“It just happened. And we can’t be together because I’m a horrible person for doing this to you.” You pull out of his grasp, but Jamie grabs you again. “Jamie, please let me go.”
“No.” He says, simply, grabbing your chin much like Roy had done minutes before. “I’m not pleased, but this is almost like karma for how shitty I’ve been in the past.” He shakes his head when you open your mouth. “Do ya care about me?”
“Of course I do.” You almost sob, looking at him with the most pathetic eyes he’d ever seen.
“I know ya do, or you wouldn’t have told me right away.” He kisses your forehead. “M’not happy about it. But I can’t say I blame ya for exploring options when I haven’t even asked ya on a proper date.”
You groan, hiding your face in the crook of his neck. “You being so understanding is making me feel worse. I know we’re not officially together or whatever the hell -“ you pause and look at him. “But I feel so, so, awful that it happened.”
Jamie shakes his head. “Stop that. M’not going to turn my back on you. I’ve cared about ya too long to let the messy beginning of what we’re tryin’ to figure out be the end of us. Besides, I did this same thing to Roy when he was with Keeley. Sometimes you just…like who you like.”
You stare at him. “You’re spending too much time with Ted.”
Jamie actually throws his head back and laughs at that, rolling his eyes once before pulling you in. “Now that you’ve kissed me coach I guess we’re even. Cause I used to be with Keeley and the two of you are thick as thieves.” He really didn’t blame you for any of this, but was making a mental note to maybe punch Roy in his face later. He couldn’t say it didn’t hurt, the thought of you kissing someone else. But he wasn’t going to let anything get in the way of what he knows is meant to be. He knew that was corny, but with you he wasn’t worried about any of that. He wanted it all, the house, the love, the kids in the future.
“I’m sorry Jamie. I really am. All I could think about was how much of an asshole I was being.” You look up at him, realizing he’s already gazing at you.
“Be me girl. Officially.” He says.
You blink. “I thought you weren’t ready to have a serious conversation until after the match?”
“Don’t care about any of that anymore.” He says. “Me dad, me reputation with Man City. Don’t matter.” He mumbles into your hair. “Only you matter to me.”
“Okay.” You whisper.
“Okay, ya believe me? Or okay, ya wanna make this official?”
“I want to be yours, Jamie.” You catch the smile on his face and he leans in, cradling your face. The kiss he gives you is so different from what you had experienced with Roy. This was slow, sweet, and loving. Jamie pecks your lips, once, two, three times, and when he pulls back, he runs his thumb over your bottom lip. You sigh, contentedly.
“That’s me girl.” He whispers, holding you close. You realize that this, with Jamie, was what you wanted. He kisses along your jawline, and you can’t help yourself, you smile. “Knew I could coax that gorgeous smile outta ya.”
Jamie was infatuated with you, and if he was being honest, completely in love with you, and had been since you had been the only one willing to speak to him when he initially came back to Richmond.
Jamie leads you to his car, and when you both get in, he pulls you across the center console onto his lap, sliding his large palm up to cup your face as he continues to kiss you. You were breathless, tangling your hands in his hair.
When you both finally pull away, you smile. Jamie tucks a piece of hair behind your ear, just like he did that night in the bar. “I’ve waited so long to be able t’call ya mine, love.” Jamie murmurs, your noses touching.
You stay like that, Jamie nuzzling you in his lap, while you think about everything that had happened. But you knew that nothing made you feel better than when Jamie held you. You stroke Jamie’s hair absentmindedly. You just hoped that you weren’t truly as terrible as you still felt.
You close your eyes, reveling in the feeling of Jamie’s presence. This was more than enough.

You stared at the test, “Well? What does it say?” Jamie asked through the door. Your eyes remained on the test.
Pregnant 1-2 weeks
Well, fuck.
Tumblr media
There is no way in hell. The test has to be defective, there is just no way you can be pregnant.
How the fuck am I gonna tell Mark?
Lost in your own worry, Jamie forced her way through the bathroom door. She looked at your face, noting the paleness that now took place. Her eyes widened as she glanced down at the test in your shaky hand. “Holy shit, y/n/n. You’re actually pregnant.” Jamie then began to ramble about all the possibilities and scenarios of having a child, but only for them to fall on deaf ears.
The only person taking up your thoughts was Mark. What if he was mad? Or upset? What if he left you? You had only been actually seeing each other for 2 weeks, yet now that seems so far away. Jamie gently shook your shoulder, trying to gain your attention. “y/n?” You looked up at her. She let out a deep sigh, pulling you into an embrace.
You finally broke. Quietly sobbing, you asked, “What if he leaves me, j?” Jamie’s eyebrows furrowed. She placed her arms on your shoulders, pushing you away slightly.
“Babe, Mark is fucking in love with you. He always has been, you were just too busy with bitch boy to realize it.” You let out a small chuckle at the familiar nickname she had given Richie. “Besides, even if he wasn’t completely obsessed with you, he isn’t the type of guy to leave his baby momma hangin’ dry.” You nodded, considering her words. You knew Mark was a good guy, a great guy, even. He would be there for you…you hoped.
Walking out of the bathroom, you sat on Mark’s bed. This is happening, you are gonna have a baby. Mark’s baby. “Well, I should probably go. I imagine loverboy is gonna be home soon and I don’t want to intrude on the special moment.” Jamie gathered the few things she had brought with her. She walked over to you, placing a firm hand on the top of your head, “Let me know how it goes, okay?” You nodded a response. She sent you a small smile, before ruffling your hair and making her way out of the house.
You lay back on the bed, staring at the ceiling.
Your stomach was in knots and you didn’t know if it was from the baby, or the anxiety. At least twenty minutes passed, you were wrong before, those three minutes were nothing compared to this torture. Hearing the front door open and close, you sat up. You felt your heart rate increase rapidly.
Here goes nothing.
Mark walked into the bedroom with multiple bags by his side. “I got pretty much everything they had, along with some of your favorite sn-” He cut himself off at the sight of you. “What’s wrong, pretty girl?’ He placed the bags down, quietly walking over. “Why aren’t you laying down? You’re gonna make yourself feel worse.”
You took a deep breath, gently grabbing Mark’s wrist to guide him beside you. Turning your body to face him, you remained silent. Deep concern etched its way onto his face, “Baby?” You kept your head downturned, scared he would see the tears swelling in your eyes. “Y/n? You’re starting to scare me, pretty girl.” He brought his hand to your face, gently tilting it so your eyes would meet.
“Hey, hey, why are you crying?” He took his other hand and began to wipe the stray tears that managed to escape.
You bit your lip, lost on how to break the news to him. Mark took his thumb to your lip, softly tugging it from between your teeth. You let out a breath, “I need to tell you something.” You grabbed his hands, bringing them to your lap. “But I’m scared it will ruin everything.” Mark shook his head in protest, “Y/n, nothing you say will ruin anything. I am here, I’m not going anywhere.”
With the little bit of confidence his words gave you, “I’m pregnant.” Mark’s face went white, you began to worry he was gonna leave, but the grip on your hands only got tighter. “You-you’re pregnant?” He stuttered like he didn't believe the words coming out of his own mouth. You nodded, too afraid to speak.
When Mark didn’t say anything, you spoke up, “Please Marky,” Full sobs shook your body. ‘Please don’t leave me.”
Mark's eyes immediately snapped to yours. He cradled your face once more, “I could never leave you, baby. You’re my girl. I could never leave my girl.” He placed a soft, yet firm kiss on your forehead. You looked up at him with big, watery eyes, “Promise?” He sent you a small, reassuring smile, “I promise, this is just something we are gonna have to do together.” With those words, relief instantly flooded your body.
You were in this together, you and Mark.
❥.
The next morning you were yet again awoken by nausea. Running to the bathroom, you repeated your actions from the previous morning. Mark was by your side in an instant, with a cold rag and a hair clip. After your nausea spell passed, you decided to take a nice warm shower. “Hey Marky?” You called from the bathroom, as he left to change. “Whatcha need, pretty girl?” He made his way back to the bathroom, now shirtless. You don’t know if it was the pregnancy hormones, or just your regular horniness, but Mark looked absolutely delicious. His toned torso flexed as he walked closer to you, taking in your flushed appearance.
“Are you gonna throw up again?” He asked while reaching for the discarded hair clip. You chuckled slightly, shaking your head no. “No, I just wanted to let you know I’m gonna hop in the shower.’’ Mark took notice of the slight suggestive tone your voice held. “Okay?” He gave you a quizzical look, “Are you needing help?” You turned around, leaning to turn on the water. “Not technically, but I wouldn’t oppose you joining me.”
Mark all but jumped at the opportunity. After stripping yourself of your nightwear, you stepped under the steaming water. Before long, you felt a large body join behind you, reaching to lower the temperature. “Hey.” Your eyes snapped open at the lack of heat. Mark grabbed your hips, pulling your body closer. “I read that super hot water can hurt the baby, pretty girl.” He let one of his hands move to rub your still soft, plushy tummy. “So unfortunately, no more steaming showers.” You pouted, wanting nothing more than hot water to soothe your aching muscles.
Mark began to lightly kiss your neck, working his way down your jaw. His hands were now rubbing up and down your full hips. “Mark, what are you doing?” You asked softly. “Just trying to appreciate how beautiful my girl is.” You scoffed slightly, “Well, enjoy me now, 'cause once this baby starts growing so will I. Then I'll be gigantic.” Mark’s hands paused on your hips, turning you to face him.
“Listen to me, right now. You are carrying my baby, our baby. There is nothing more beautiful than that. I, for one, can’t wait till your belly starts growing.” He began to trail kisses down your front. Leading from your neck, through the valley of your breasts, making sure to stop and place extra kisses on your stomach.
“You are gonna make the most gorgeous mommy ever.” Mark looked up at you with big round eyes. His hands rested on your thighs, as he sank to his knees. “I want to prove to you how pretty you are.” He took one of your soft thighs and placed it on his shoulder. He was so close you could feel his breath on your pussy. You let out a small whine, “Fuck, Marky.” You felt him smirk against your thigh. “God you are so fucking beautiful, y/n” With that he attached his lips to your clit, sucking immediately. You gasped at the stimulation.
Mark’s tongue quickly darted in and out as he devoured you. He moved down to your neglected opening, his nose brushing against your clit. You threw your head back, bumping it into the shower wall. Water ran down your body, making everything slick. Mark picked his head up, before going back to your clit. He brought one of his hands from your thigh to insert one digit into your dripping hole. “Oh my god.” You moaned as Mark began pumping.
The feeling of Mark’s tongue and fingers became overwhelming. A familiar tightening in your core began to grow. He added another finger, causing you to cry out. “ Fuck, fuck. ‘M gonna come, Marky.” He began to move faster, thrusting his fingers in and out at a brutal pace. You dug your hand into Mark’s wet hair, tugging as you felt your orgasm overtake you.
You screwed your eyes shut, releasing a loud whine as you came all over Mark’s mouth. He made sure to let you ride it out, only stopping when the stimulation became too much for you. Mark slowly placed your leg back down, making sure to support your weight. Once he was fully standing, he let you lean against him. After a few minutes of regaining your breath, you tried to reach for his painful-looking hard-on. Before you could, Mark grabbed your wrist, stopping your movements. “Don’t worry about me, pretty girl. This was just for you. Now, let’s actually take a shower.” Too tired to protest, you let him get you cleaned up.
❥.
A few hours later, you and Mark decided to go pick up some food on campus. While leaving the house, you ran into Ethan and Luke, who demanded they come with you. Not in the mood to walk, you opted for the bus. This proved to be a huge mistake, you were only on the bus for a few minutes before you felt a wave of nausea. You looked up at the roof, trying your hardest to will the urge to vomit away.
“You good y/n?” You heard Luke ask. Scared to make any sudden movements, you lightly tapped Mark’s arm. Recognizing the look on your face immediately, he urgently started to search for something, in case you threw up. Not finding anything, he made his best effort to get you off the bus at the next stop. “Mark? Y/n? Where are you going? Our stop isn’t for two more.” Ethan’s voice called after you both, as Mark escorted you off. Just as your feet hit the pavement, your knees gave way as your stomach heaved up your lunch.
Mark made sure to keep your hair held back, putting it up with the hairband he kept on his wrist for you. You felt hot tears begin to run down your face. Whether it was due to embarrassment or your contracting stomach muscles, either way, you no longer wanted to go get food. Luke and Ethan stood a few paces back, not wanting to crowd you. Once you had finished, Luke handed Mark the water bottle he was carrying.
Accepting it gratefully, Mark helped you sit on the curb before giving you the water. “Take small sips, you don’t want to chug it.” Mark sat beside you, rubbing your back while you sipped. “Do you want me to go get my car?” You looked over to Ethan. The blonde boy’s eyes held nothing but concern. ‘You don’t need to do that,” You managed to croak out. “Just give me a minute. I can walk.” Mark’s eyebrows furrowed, “No. You’re not walking y/n. I don’t care if you think you’re fine, you need to be extra careful now.” Luke and Ethan exchanged questioning glances at the last sentence. Mark’s eyes widened when he realized what he said. “You know, now that you’re not feeling well…” Mark trailed off, laughing awkwardly.
“Anyways, E, would you mind going to get the car?” Mark did his best to change the subject. Nodding, Ethan began to jog back to the house, taking Luke with him. As soon as they were out of earshot, you laid into him. “Mark! What the hell,” You slapped his shoulder, “Now they are gonna start asking questions.” Although he was also a little worried, he did his best to soothe your concerns, “No they won’t, it isn’t strange for people to throw up. Don’t worry, we’ll make sure they don’t suspect anything.” Mark took in a breath before blowing it back out, “But, we should consider when we are going to tell them. I mean, you’re gonna start showing eventually and when you start developing more and more symptoms, they’re gonna notice.”
Thinking over what he said, you realized he was right. You do need to tell everyone eventually, but not right now. “I know, but can we just keep it to ourselves for a while? I’m not ready for everyone to know just yet.” Mark gave you a gentle smile, “Of course we can, pretty girl.” You placed your head on Mark’s shoulder, waiting for Ethan and Luke to arrive.
Once you got back to the house, you quickly ran upstairs to the bathroom to brush your teeth and change into something more comfortable. After you finished, you joined Mark downstairs on the couch. Curling up to his side, he turned on your favorite show. You were about halfway through your third episode when you heard loud steps booming down the stairs.
Looking over, you saw Luke rushing down. “What is up with you?” Mark asked him. You took the time to look over his appearance, he looked like he’d seen a ghost. Luke walked over to sit on the footrest in front of you two. “I know.” That’s all Luke said. You and Mark looked at each other confused, before turning back to Luke. “You know what?” You spoke up.
“I know you’re pregnant.”
