I hate when people use "seeing things" and "crazy" interchangeably because they automatically think that anyone who hallucinates is crazy. If they are interpreting or remembering things incorrectly they always say "am I crazy? And I seeing things?". Because their biggest fear is in that moment is being seen as crazy, and they assume everyone is like them and sees their misunderstanding of hallucinations as being indictive that whoever has hallucinations is crazy. It's just another form of sanism against people with psychosis that is so normalized, that even people who call themselves "mental illness advocates" will say this without realizing the potential harm.

To make it clear, misinterpreting things or misremembering things is not a hallucination. And, hallucinations don't make people "crazy". People who say this are extremely uneducated and are perpetuating sanist stereotypes about people who hallucinate. I absolutely hate how normalized this phrase is, and how no one who says it or hears it ever considers how disrespectful it is to people who hallucinate. It just feels like you are calling me, and everyone like me "crazy" to my face because of my mental illness and not even considering it rude in any way.

This is giving such BBC Ghosts [IMDB] vibes and I am here for it. It's one of my comfort shows, so sorry if some of these are very similar tropes from the show, just with an angsty twist!

How much privacy does your whumpee get? Do the ghosts know of any secrets the whumpee has, therefore making them paranoid/afraid/guilty?

Do they see the people they killed in the past? (Whether it be part of their job or as an accident.)

How long can they keep it a secret from others?

Maybe the ghosts torment the whumpee - by jumping out at them/making noises/cutting the power.

"Do you not see that?"

"Please tell me you see that?"

When they first wake up, they're greeted with a ghost next to their bed. They start to scream, and the caretaker believes them to be in pain/distress.

"What is that?!" "What do you mean? The heart monitor? The window? What's going on?"

Maybe your whumpee shuts down - they're too scared to speak as someone is always in the room with them.

How is it revealed to the caretakers that the whumpee is seeing ghosts? Do they have a breakdown? Are they found cowering in the closet?

My laptop just flickered into weird wavy vaporwave-y static with this flickery white text that just said

And then? And then the static got heavier and like moved down the screen in what I can only describe as a stomach-turning drop. Like it was being sucked down? It swooshed down? Idk. And there was a blink of really small white text all over the screen I couldn't read it at all it was like

But it was much tinier than that it was hard to see and I have good vision. And it was while I was playing a game with a bright background too which didn't help.
