Uncharismatic Fact of the Day
A worm that can jump? It's more likely than you think! Asian jumping worms will thrash wildly when threatened, and have been known to leap nearly 30 cm (11 in) into the air! If that doesn't deter predators, they may also drop their tails just like a lizard.

I'm just now starting to get into homestuck (I'm just starting act 4) and.. I like your bugs.. I have a question about olive bloods
If Nepeta is a caterpillar and Meulin is based on a luna moth, are all olive bloods resemblant of moth species, or are they also resemblant of butterfly species?
Tumblr media
Honestly, I’ve drawn a few fantrolls at this point. Having looked at the CANNON olive caste, none of them really feel fragile, pretty or precious enough to be butterflies, they all got a chunky down-to-earthness that I think suits moths more, especially with their earthy colors and troll’s nocturnal lifestyle. My species choices has a big thing to do with themes and vibes, so if the vibes suit a guy you got go for it B] Because a lot of bug species I like aren’t included in the original 12 designs I made, there’s room within a caste for more than one bug species. Think about it this way: All moths are green bloods, but not all green bloods are moths. Maybe there’s a grasshopper or junebug greenblood out there!

NICHE EVRART FACTS FROM YOURS TRULY: EXTRA ANIMATIONS. so typically he repeats the same 3 back and fourth swiveling motions during the entire conversation but in some saves his animation loop has him swivel around only a few times and then go through each of the poses above (in chronological order) before restarting. maybe the devs thought it was too distracting but i think it's a shame that these extra motions don't show up easily in "normal" playthroughs, him fiddling with the image on his desk especially is really cute. ALSO if u know any other npc to have secret animations PLEASE let me know im so curious

so very small Worm (Wildbow), Bug Fables Graphic Depictions Of Violence, Skitter | Weaver | Taylor Hebert, Post-GM, Transmigration, Spiders, Bugs & Insects, Canon-Typical Violence
Taylor Hebert wakes up in the middle of a grassy field with an aching head, a massive blank in her memory, and approximately four more limbs than she remembers having. Approximately, of course, because one of her original four limbs appeared to be gone, and she wasn't sure how to qualify an entire abdomen suddenly spawning off of her backside. Something ingrained deeply into her skull told her she should be blaming someone, but she couldn't quite remember who.
Author's Note: Bugtober, Day 19 - Mimic. We think that Taylor would be a mimic spider if we swapped her over to BF. We have no major justification for this, but we are open to suggestions if anyone has a better idea, seeing as it's been nearly three years (we think) since we've read Worm and there are likely people on this website who are not operating on three years of character drift.

Uncharismatic Fact of the Day
What’s better than one brain? Thirty-two brains! That’s how many brains a leech has. Their bodies are separated into 32 segments, each with its own brain fragment. In addition, each leech has 10 stomachs and nine pairs of testicles, as well as a set of ovaries.

Unidentified life form.
Upon first seeing these 2021, I believed they were a species of flatworm. I was told on iNaturalist that there weren't any flatworms which matched description, and that the specimens had slight signs of segmentation (thus Annelida). As it currently stands, I have seen these creatures numerous times, but have yet to find any sort of identification.
Brief description: These are benthic creatures, residing in burrows I've mainly witnessed further up the shore in mangrove environments. They remain in their burrows until there is a few centimetres of water level, after which they leave (or a part of them leaves) the burrow to feed on sediment. They sift through the sediment, possibly collecting sediment on the top-facing surface of the body/appendage to take back into the burrow. I typically find these things covered in sediment, and they leave very distinct trails in the sand after feeding. I have only come across them in Bowen (the beach at the giant mango), though I find it doubtful that Bowen is their only location.

So yesterday me and my friend, salcommitsarson, played the entirety of sally face together
needless to say i was not fucking prepared for episode five and it was the best emotional damage i had to go through, so here is the art i made while thinking on repeat “episode five of sally face doesn’t exist if i pretend hard enough”

some of these do reference jokes we made during the time we played the game (mainly just revolving around sal finally going feral/sal being an angry little shit) and i will try and do them better justice than these drawings but i’m too tired for that lmao
also don’t worry, this denial will involve a lot of the transmasc headcanons I have for sally face characters, i apologize (but not really) in advance

Moggy from Kirby Mass Attack!
One of my fave creatures from the game! Such a funny worm! They just walk on walls and ceilings minding their business while carrying fruit in their separated segments! And look at that big round nose! Really charming!
