my House obsession has merged with my ever lingering septimus heap obsession, and all I can think about is how we need Lisa Edelstein (Cuddy) to play Marcia Overstrand if there was ever to be a live action Septimus Heap.

Like she would walk Silas like a dog. Also I would love to see Michael Sheen as Alther. If there's anyone who can pull of a well meaning ghost that can be a bit of a wreck, it's him.

i think edd and erik definitely try to look different on purpose. already all the heap boys look pretty similar, and get mistaken for each other. so add onto that someone who shares your exact same face, living space, and eventually occupation. i think both of them try to have very distinct Things™️ about their appearance because to them, they ARE different and distinct people, and even though they love their brothers they don't want to always be considered part of a set, you know? like it's very important for them to be able to match clothes or hang out together without being confused as The Same Guy

Just as a general fyi: it’s been a while since I’ve worked on any of these (currently editing a tlt fic, but I assume you’re most interested in Sep Heap stuff xD)

I really do want to work on a SH/ML crossover at some point. Right now I have a mess of worldbuilding notes, a couple of character designs, and not much else.

In my concept, the Wizards are essentially the Guardians of the Miraculous - with just one exception. The Ladybug Miraculous belongs to the Queens in what is half tradition and half a genuine attempt to have some kind of separation of power.

After the assassination, Marcia starts hanging on to the Ladybug like she does the Tiara in canon. She passes it on to Jenna when she thinks there’s no other option left - noone else may wield it, but someone has to.

The Cat Miraculous takes up the role of both the dragon ring and the Fly Free charm - Marcia really needs to pick an apprentice to be Jenna’s partner. When she finds Boy 412 in the snow, she gives it to him on a gut feeling. He gets to have very conflicted feelings about yes committing treason on the reg but also having friends for the first time.

DomDaniel has had the Butterfly and the Peacock ever since Alther cataclysmed him he jumped off the Wizard tower. The Supreme Custodian is one of his Akumas. So is the Assassin, etc, etc. (Simon does become his apprentice eventually, meaning: Sleuth is a Sentimonster)

There is an old saying in the Castle, about the position of ExtraOrdinary Wizard: As you have gained it, so you shall lose it. It is almost forgotten by the time DomDaniel begins his apprenticeship. There are only stories told on long winter nights, and the footnotes in ancient books you might find at the Manuscriptorium. It has been a long time since anyone has had reason to believe it.

DomDaniel has no time for foolish proverbs. He has decided that most things aren’t worth his time. He isn’t getting any younger, after all: though if he has anything to say in the matter, he won’t be getting older, either. Five years into his apprenticeship, Daniel slips into his master’s chambers by night and makes sure that Old Pavel doesn’t wake again. He’s outlived his usefulness, DomDaniel reasons. He’s found other sources to teach him magyk.

It’s a terrible thing for an apprentice to have to supplant his master, or at least that’s what the people say. Yet sometimes there is no other choice: No other Apprentice has finished their seven years and seven days and remained within the Castle. DomDaniel has made sure of that. When he arrives to watch Pavel be placed in his Leaving Boat, the people of the Castle assume he’s wearing mourning. But it’s just his purple, darker than anyone before him has worn.

Pavel’s Ghost never does Appear, but if anyone notices, they’ve already learned to keep their mouths shut.

(This is a 5+1 fic about the very literal generational trauma of being an EOW)

I honest to god want to write Nightmare Polycule. There is so much potential. I wouldn’t even bother making a plot, just random situation that amuse me and possibly nobody else.

Hi Septimus Heap fandom would you like to see a fancomic where I yank the emo bitch into another universe and give him a redemption arc he needs, that also takes years because ohhh boy he's got issues, also I headcanoned even more trauma for him, and I will give him even more trauma in the redemption process and also the arm that his thumb was cut off get cut off entirely and he gets a cool ass prosthetic.

Also this will eventually lead to a multifandom thing.

Sophie Foster headcanons

Sophie used to, and still does, love reading - it was a form of escapism as a kid that she never stopped enjoying - but she doesn't often read now because she can't read the Elven runes all the books she finds are written in. This also makes classwork hard when she has the time and energy to do it.

She has chronic insomnia

Sophie and her dad used to enjoy doing outdoor stuff together - camping, hiking, gardening in their yard, etc. when she manifested, they still did it because she enjoyed being away from others, and her dad's mind was very quiet. When Amy was born they stopped because now she could hear him thinking about how normal Amy was compared to her.

(related to prev) sometimes she wasn't to ask Grady to hike or camp with her, but she doesn't because she thinks he wouldn't want to (she's also pretty sure elves just don't do that, nor do they have anywhere to do that.)

Sophie's begun to see Bronte as a sort of father figure and wants to spend more time with him. She won't because she's still scared of him, and thinks he hates her.

headcanon that wizarding green eyes aren't all the same green, but exist in every shade and someone's eyes will match those of the person who first starts to teach them magyk.

people in the castle, where magyk is common and taught in schools rather than just at home, don't really care about or even notice the exact green of someone's eyes, but in some parts of the world it's a big deal. magykal lineages might be traced by eye colour rather than blood. a magykal kid's eyes not matching their parents might raise questions or simply reflect poorly on the parents and their own magykal abilities.

so marcia spends weeks just... looking at septimus, wondering why he looks so different from the dozen other heaps running around when actually he looks exactly the same except smaller and she realizes it's his eyes. he doesn't have the same bright springy green eyes as his brothers and silas; his eyes are a deep jewel green like hers. and marcia starts to feel guilty because that's something that she's taken away from both septimus (whose eyes will always mark him as other in the family he's still getting to know) and silas (who almost certainly would have wanted to teach his youngest son magyk, the same way he taught his other boys). marcia has no idea how to broach the subject with septimus and decides she will apologize to silas first.

In honor of me going back to school have some SH Modern AU Headcanons

Jenna's best subject is history and she's in debate and always wins.

Sep's best subject is chemistry hands down. JROTC (like a high school military kinda training) is the one thing school wise he will NEVER try at least once for obvious reasons.

Also Jenna and Sep do homework together (even though Jenna is in a few advanced classes) and Jenna helps Sep actually understand and keep up.

Nicko is in tech school or whatever equivalent in which he learns a trade (boatmaking). He skips all other classes most of the time. Solid C student though.

Jojo is super good at English. Like especially peotry. Also I get drama kid vibes from him. (Also chemistry or health stuff bc potions)

Erik is in marching band. He plays clarinet. Probably in some kind of improv humor class.

Edd is in band too but he plays trumpet. But he's also a football player so time isnt something he has.

Edd and Erik on their senior year pull the best senior pranks.

Sam used to be in football but decided to drop it after one season. He likes home ecc because of cooking. Enviromental science was super easy for him. Also agriculture tech school (I think that's the term).

SIMON IS THAT ONE STUDENT THAT YOU DONT UNDERSTAND. HOW DO YOU MANAGE TO BALANCE SO MANY AP/HONORS CLASSES AND THREE EXTRACURICULARS AND A GREAT STABLE RELATIONSHIP?! HOW?!

Halloween Headcanons

It’s late but eh whatever. :D

- About this time of year, the Manuscriptorium runs out of invisibility charms to lend out (coupling the charm with a sheet over your head is a popular costume, also, spooking your friends out by invisibly doing creepy s**t is thE BEST)

- Jenna’s favorite costume is her witch robe and a broom she borrows from the Palace cleaners (secretly she’s just really lazy to think up and put a lot of effort in a costume lol)

- One year, Sarah somehow magically got her sons to agree to dress up as the 7 dwarves. Jenna, dark hair and fair skin and all, princess that she is, was Snow White

- Sep uses his Flyte charm to go around raining sweets for the Castle kids. Spit Fyre, his mate, and their little babies help out, too (though they make more messes than they do help). The kids love it for the most part, but getting hit on the head by a piece of candy HURT

- Alther, in all his preciousness, spend the time pranking people around the Castle by Appearing all of a sudden. He forgot Snorri was a Seer though, so mostly, she just gets annoyed.

- Everyone loves Trick or Treating at the Palace because Jenna’s charm makes the best chocolate in the Castle.

- Marcia just puts on a purple witch’s hat and she’s good to go. (The Castle kids and not-so-kids are scared enough of her as it is, she doesn’t need much more lol)

- Marcellus still doesn’t get the concept of Halloween. He’s just miffed by all of it. He decided that this time of year, home would be the best place to be. Sep still hasn’t convinced him to come out and join in.

- William always comes to school in the best costume every year, made by the doting Sarah who prepares a month in advance. Lucy tried making it one year, but considering her success with her wedding gown, that year wasn’t much better.

- Inspired by Alther, the ghosts of the Castle are getting a kick out of making the most of the holiday. The older ones hate all the noise, though.

- Sep made a joking remark one year that Aunt Zelda didn’t need to dress up, ‘cause she always looked like she was dressed up as a tent everyday. Suffice to say he didn’t get any cabbage sandwiches for a whiiiiile.

- FizzFroot in some cauldrons are a HIT.

- The Gothyk Grotto is absolutely PACKED this time of year

- Sarah hates it because Jojo uses the holiday to wear more black than he usually does, if that’s even possible

- The witches hide out on this holiday, they hate it that everyone thinks they’re wearing costumes (though OBVIOUSLY they’re seen wearing the same robes all year)
