you consider skipping class the following day, but you have assignments to turn in. you meet up with your best friend, and she's her usual upbeat self. perhaps even a little more radiant and a little dreamier.

you can't shake the image of her under you, naked, pressed into the forest trail.

you smile back, all too easily. you deceived her. if she knew it was you, if she knew how you hunger for her, surely she'd keep her distance. you swear to yourself it was just a one-time lapse in judgement.

when the full moon rises, you find yourself again in that same part of the woods. and there she is again. waiting for you. she comes first this time, and makes you wait for your release as she fingers you with one hand and works your cock with the other. it ends up being a long night.

the second month is even more frustrating. you lean your head on her shoulder as you're watching a movie, and you flash to your snout between her legs. you bite your pen and remember the marks you left on her thigh.

you're out on a day trip with her and her friends, the day before the full moon's night. you try not to stare at her in her swimsuit. you try not to imagine ripping it off her. you try to enjoy the town and the sunlight.

the last bus back is cancelled. you're stranded there overnight. the friends are excited for the fun twist in the adventure; your best friend smiles with them, but you can imagine a wistful dissappointment in her. you, however, swallow down terror.

you resist the call of the moon until everyone's asleep. you try not to disturb your best friend as you sneak out of from next to her and out of the cheap hotel room. your bones crackle and snap as you make your way to the roof, and when you finally give in, the transformation is agonizing. you pant and whine and curse your luck.

you watch the lights of the strange town, smelling unfamiliar scents, hiding from view. bored, alone and afraid. hours pass at a snail's pace. you wonder if there are other werewolves out here tonight. you try to hide even smaller.

as dawn finally paints sky, and you think it's over, the door to the roof opens. it's your best friend, wearing her pyjamas, softly calling your name.

you lock eyes and both freeze. it is at that moment that the sun crests the horizon. you cover your face as you start to transform back, as fur sheds to reveal skin, as fangs turn to teeth, as the wolf is unwound, and there is only you.

a moment passes, and you look through your fingers. your best friend comes over to you, and takes you into a hug.

"I always hoped it was you," she whispers in your ear. you hesitate, but you hug her back.

maybe it's the lingering wolf in you, but you kiss her. she kisses you back. it's a small, gentle thing, but it feels like more raw and hungry than anything you've done on those moonlit nights.

"the others are going to sleep for a few more hours, right?" you say. she looks quizzical, but then breaks out into a grin.

you push her against a wall and kiss her.

No, not nepotism. You guys don’t get to hate on these kids, they’re super cool. They came into my shop & asked me to perform for their parents. They made no mention of their mom being Lindana. We’re literally prepping for the concert right now and I just learned this from tumblr. Had to fact check it with Bobbi. Point is, at no point did they try to leverage their mom’s fame. They genuinely just wanted to do something sweet for their parents. I doubt they even thought to try and use their mother’s status. They simply explained how passionate their parents were about the band.
