Note
we have three alters who need help with their identities.
one is very cutesy, hyper femme egirl. she's been here for a little while. she wants things related to lovesick, gorey, and video game themes! she would like names, pronouns, and things she would enjoy.
the one is a bit confusing. they're not a human, they mimic humans. they don't talk often. they're very much connected to liminal horror. they want names and things to do. neutral names preferably.
the last one is connected to the umbrella academy. they're sourced specifically off of klaus and five. they want neutral or feminine names related to mystery, tarot, spirits, and time travel. they also want things to do, comforts, and pronouns.
Hello! I did my best with this one, and I hope it can help! However, I highly recommend googling the trigger warnings for the enjoyment recommendations. Particularly with the first alter, many of the things listed are either quite heavy, gorey, or just generally has potentially triggering content. Be safe and have a good day! :]

Okay the way you guessed my major is kind of scary but really smart of you too, I’m really impressed 😭 I mean I’m not good at keeping things to myself even when I try so that’s not really a surprise 💔
Madame Butterfly is such a moving story, I discovered it when I was in middle school through a very dear music teacher of mine because I had to sing a part for an assignment. I miss her everyday that passes to be honest,, Choosing Otello is just a testimonial of your good taste ! I have many books myself, mostly classics and philosophical ones. I’m currently re-reading Le Parfum by Patrick Süskind, truly a journey for the senses despite being terrifying !
Thank you so much for taking the time to find those pictures, they’re absolutely lovely, I feel flattered you took this time to show them to me really,, It made my day even though it hasn’t even started yet ! The costume is absolutely beautiful, truly a godly drape of gold !! 🍓
French music is much more varied than people make it out to be, we have wonderful artists, you just need to dig a bit ! I’m glad you enjoyed the song, it does fit your vibe a lot ! I find myself enjoying those silly back and forth, they’re pleasant and light, really heartwarming !
Yeah, you’re not good at keeping things for yourself ahah. It was quite obvious. I’m guessing you’re learning german too? Or maybe dutch. I’m simply extra curious.
Gosh, I studied Otello when I was in middle school and it was mesmerizing. So I knew I needed to start my hyperfixation on classical music (I’m madly in love with Giuseppe Tartini). At the moment I’m reading Fair play by Tove Jansson, I’m a major lover of moomins. Idk if you ever read/saw the show! But it’s extremely calm, similar to Over the garden wall to some extent. But as you I mainly enjoy classics, especially gothic literature.
I’m glad you liked the pics! I’m sorry they weren’t the best but at least I can fetch you some good pics of my incoming trip next week. I’m going out of Italy to meet my maestro in Portugal.
If you have some recommendations for me I’m all ears, I like to find new music to add to my spotify account. The only other french song I know is “Paris sera toujours Paris” by ZAZ. I always listen to it when I’m a bit down. Oh and “La seine” by French cafè ensemble

When you’re done with your Gwen Stacy transgender analysis arc, would it be okay if one requested an Ultimate Spider-Woman transgender analysis arc too?
hello and yes absolutely! i'm gonna hijack this ask to kind of lay out what i want to do with this blog for the rest of the year and beyond, but Ultimate Spider-Woman is absolutely on the docket <3
my read through of the gwen-stacy comics has been on a pause for about 2 months now but it is something i want to get back to! i am sadly a soup of mental illness and executive dysfunction (unsurprising considering i am a gay literature student), so i haven't had the motivation for it lately. but i would like to make some progress before i head back to school for my final semester and graduation.
i plan to make it as far as possible into the Gwen runs as i can, but starting in september i'm gonna have a lot less time to work on it. instead i'll probably post about my work on my literary thesis, which is also about comics! i'm studying graphic memoirs, which are a subsection of nonfiction comics popularized by works like Maus by Art Spieglemen and Fun Home by Allison Bechdel. these posts will still be talking about queer identity a lot of the time, but will probably focus more on formalism and broader analysis as it pertains to marginalized identities. so if you like comics talk and want to hear about stuff that isn't superheroes, watch out for that!
once i finish my semester in mid-december i'll probably take a break for a while and then jump back into Gwen stuff. once i'm caught up with Gwen i'll probably move on to ultimate spider-woman aka Jessica Drew. after that i think i want to tackle Angela and Sera, also from Marvel. after that i'm not too sure where the transgender analysis arc will take me! i may do a series on Witch Hat Atelier by Kamome Shirahama. which would probably be less transgender analysis and more queer analysis with a heavy dose of formal stuff (Shirahama is a master when it comes to paneling and i could write a whole thesis about her work alone). but if there are more requests for comics runs then i'd love to continue this train! i don't know much about DC outside some black label stuff, but if people are interested in specific things then i can research.
anyways i'm glad people enjoy my posts and want more, it means a lot at a time where i'm kind of floundering lmao. peace and love and all that <3

Going to get a lil' theoretical in this one.
In a way, knowledge studies (is there a word for this?) and politics are extremely similar. They both encroach/venture into fields that do not belong to them in hopes of setting their flags upon new land; "broadening their horizons" if you will. Take for instance literature and linguistics; much like two opposing countries—one seeks to enter the other field; bringing with them their own rules and descriptions and applying it on land belonging to the other. The other is enraged at such abuse, they fire back a critical review of the work, enraged at the fact that a linguist—for example—thinks they can take literature away from literary critics. It's frustrating and yet interesting, this irredeemable aspect of human nature. This inextinguishable need to find new horizons by changing the nature of a place so beloved to someone else.
And yet, many will, of course, disagree with me. Both in the metaphor I have used, and my argument. Qué sera sera :)

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, written by V. E. Schwab.
“Addie has had so many hellos, but that was the first and only time she got to say good-bye. That kiss, like a piece of long-awaited punctuation. Not the em dash of an interrupted line, or the ellipsis of a quiet escape, but a period, a closed parenthesis, an end. An end.

Can i get some education headcannons for the hellsing, iscariot, and millenium peeps please? Or just hellsing or iscariot if thats too much. Like what kind of education do the characters have, do they continue learning, do they like learning, do they have any degrees/diplomas/licences/etc, favorite subjects, did they ever have a teacher they really looked up to or who had a big impact on them, did they go to school cause it was expected or cause they wanted or not at all? That sorta stuff
I'll have you know I worked on a 4 page Google doc to answer this ask over the course of a month and then debated on whether or not anyone cared that much, so here is the abridged version. If you have any enquiries on someone or something specific, let me know and I'll go through my notes and answer beyond that.
All of the English characters were required to be educated between the compulsory ages of 5 and 16, depending on the character. lntegra: homeschooled, probably by governesses. She has the equivalent of a secondary education, not counting her specialty education in business and monster-hunting affairs which were taught by her father. Compulsory school age was 16, I believe, and after that she completed HEI level education which included her business management skills. Beyond that, she shadowed Penwood in Round Table matters. She's particularly strong in business analytics and statistics. She struggled with chemistry. Her favorite subject was math. Seras: She's smart, but she had to move schools a lot because of her manifesting aggression as result of her trauma. Her grades suffered until she was in her teens, and when she finished secondary school she took on an apprenticeship with D11, which took around 3 years. She is excellent at deductive reasoning and applied sciences, she struggles with mathematics. Her favorite subject was sociology.
Walter: Homeschooled by a governess of Hellsing until age 14, the end of the compulsory age range of the time. During primary school and thereafter he was trained as an agent of Hellsing. He furthered his own studies in early adulthood, but informally. He excels in literary and social studies, which are his favorite subjects, and struggles with mathematics beyond basic algebra.
Alucard: Historically, he spoke Bulgarian (most likely his mother tongue), Slavonic, what is now Romanian, Magyar, Turkish, German, Latin, and Greek. He learned basic math, how to ride a horse, and some basic information about foreign affairs, history, and religion. When he lived with the Turks he most likely taught geometry, chemistry, algebra, military history, how to fight in general (Hirano depicts him with a broadsword, but in reality he favored the kilij, a curved scimitar he learned to use with the Turks) and literature. Ottoman education was considered a higher standard of education compared to European schools. Past his human life, he continued to pursue knowledge in many fields, hiring tutors when necessary. Feel free to ask more about his expanse of subjects, I could go on forever. His strengths are many thanks to time and experience, but linguistics, international affairs, and mechanical engineering are his favorites. He has little interest in conceptualizing new theories and is more interested in applying them.

“The Song of the Young Prig”, a broadside ballad in thieves' cant
“Frisk the cly, and fork the rag, Draw the fogies plummy, Speak to the rattles, bag the swag, And finely hunt the dummy.”
This ballad was printed c.1819-1828, and collected in Musa pedestris, three centuries of canting songs and slang rhymes (1536-1896). Among the many ballads of that period which “engage juvenile convicts as their narrative voice”, this is an example of the satirical type (the other types being valedictory, betrayal, and confessional ballads):
In order to create a satirical representation, ‘The Song of the Young Prig’ is written entirely in ‘flash’: a form of argot or cant supposedly used by the beggars and thieves. The idea that a criminal class had its own unique sublanguage was often cited as evidence that they existed as a subclass to the rest of society. The exhaustive list of definitions at the bottom of the broadsheet, however, invites the reader to share in the humour of the language rather than be excluded from it. The list of crimes in which he jubilantly proclaims his skill, is mostly the writer’s attempt to demonstrate the humorous breadth of cant. [i]
V. A. C. Gatrell assumes it was reprinted from an earlier broadside, because it has "antique references to Tyburn and to transportation to Virginia". However, its language combines early thieves' cant with contemporaneous slang: prig is cant for "thief", dating from 1566 and the very dawn of English rogue literature, but rumbler meaning a carriage of some sort is strictly 19th century. So I think this version of the ballad is indeed from the 1820s, though of course it could be inspired or adapted from older material.
Gatrell also writes:
Although the highwayman and Tyburn tradition in balladry became attenuated or romanticized in time, reflections of its subversive postures survived in crowd behaviour right to the abolition of public execution in 1868. In blackguard ballads [...] we find a refusal to be defeated, a compulsive cockiness, a vaunting celebration of cleverness. To triumph over affliction, to refuse surrender, to reject mediocrity, and still to mock and laugh was to achieve the main distinction plebeian life could offer. [ii]
"The Song of the Young Prig" is indeed very cocky, and rather cheerful. It doesn't bite, like others of its kind, it remains happy to the end. And in the prospect of the gallows, which never fails to make an appearance in these ballads at least as a possibility, it simply shrugs: there's no queering fate, sirs (what a phrase!). Which means, you can't cheat fate, lads. So eh. Que sera sera.
Reading today a ballad written wholly in thieves' cant is a bit of a hassle, since going back and forth from text to definitions kinda spoils the rhythm, but if you stick with it, you'll be rewarded. The lyrics have an incredible swing to them. Enjoy.
The Song of the Young Prig
I [1]
My mother she dwelt in Dyot's Isle, [2]  One of the canting crew, sirs; [3] And if you'd know my father's style,  He was the Lord-knows-who, sirs! I first held horses in the street,  But being found defaulter, Turned rumbler's flunkey for my meat, [4]  So was brought up to the halter. [5]
Chorus:         Frisk the cly, and fork the rag, [6]            Draw the fogies plummy, [7]         Speak to the rattles, bag the swag, [8]            And finely hunt the dummy.  [9]
II
My name they say is young Birdlime, [10]  My fingers are fish-hooks, sirs; And I my reading learnt betime, [11]  From studying pocket-books, sirs; I have a sweet eye for a plant, [12]   And graceful as I amble,  Finedraw a coat-tail sure I can't   So kiddy is my famble. [13]
III
A night bird oft I'm in the cage, [14]    But my rum-chants ne'er fail, sirs; [15]  The dubsman's senses to engage,  [16]    While I tip him leg-bail, sirs; [17]  There's not, for picking, to be had,    A lad so light and larky,   [18]  The cleanest angler on the pad   [19]    In daylight or the darkey.  [20]
IV
And though I don't work capital,  [21]    And do not weigh my weight, sirs; [22]  Who knows but that in time I shall,    For there's no queering fate, sirs.  [23]  If I'm not lagged to Virgin-nee,  [24]    I may a Tyburn show be,  [25]  Perhaps a tip-top cracksman be,  [26]    Or go on the high toby.  [27]
Notes
Notes in italics are mine, I’m mostly drawing from the invaluable Green’s Dictionary of Slang. The others come with the broadside or were written by the compiler. [iii]
Said to have been written by Little Arthur Chambers, the Prince of Prigs, who was one of the most expert thieves of his time. He began to steal when he was in petticoats, and died a short time before Jack Sheppard came into notice. Internal evidence, however, renders this attributed authorship very improbable.
Dyots Isle, i.e., Dyot St., St. Giles, afterwards called George St. Bloomsbury, was a well-known rookery where thieves and their associates congregated.
beggars | canting crew = the underworld of professional thieves and beggars
hackney-coach | rumbler's flunkey = a footman who runs for four-wheeled cabs (rumblers) in return for tips
halter: the noose used in a judicial hanging
pick a pocket; lay hold of notes or money
steal handkerchiefs dextrously
steal a watch, pocket the plunder
steal pocket-books
Birdlime = thief or thievish, equivalent to the metaphorical “sticky fingers”. In the Newgate Calendar we read that birdlime could also be a literal thieves' tool: “While a merchant in King Street was counting some money and bank-notes on a counter, a staff or small rod, overlaid with birdlime, was suddenly thrust in at the door, which having touched the notes, two of them were thereby carried off; and, before the merchant could pursue, the ingenious actor had made his escape.“ and "Again, he was very expert at the "whalebone lay," which is having a thin piece of whalebone daubed at the end with bird lime, and going into a shop with a pretence to buy something, make the shopkeeper, by wanting this and that thing, turn his back often; and then take the opportunity of putting the whalebone, so daubed with bird lime, into the till of the counter, which brings up any single piece of money that sticks to it. After which, to give no mistrust, they buy some small matter, and pay the man with a pig of his own sow.“
"Pocket-book" = reader.
an intended robbery
skilful is my hand
lock-up
gaoler
rum-chant = a song
run away
 frolicsome
expert pickpocket
night
To work capital = to commit a crime punishable with death. Previous to 1829 many offences, now thought comparatively trivial, were deemed to merit the extreme penalty of the law.
weigh one’s weight = to commit a capital offence [under an act of William and Mary the reward for the capture of a highwayman or coiner had been set at £40]
getting the better of
transported [to Virginia; this couldn’t happen after 1776, however there’s another version of the ballad that goes “lagged to Botany B.”, i.e. Botany Bay. Penal transportation to Australia started in 1787 and went on for almost 70 years.]

Dragon Age Inquisition Companions as College Roommates (besides Varric because I did him in the DA2 post which is here )
Sera: The roommate who brought a TON of stuff, but it’s mostly little trinkets and things. Little ball of chaos, pranks everyone in the dorm to death, will 100% start a prank war with you too. Super fun to go into town with, has the most wild stories and is on the school’s archery team. She’s kind of a slob. Thinks school is rubbish. Whens she’s board she’ll crumble up little pieces of paper and try and land them in the recycling bin, she succeeds like 90% of the time.
Cassandra: Very very by the books. Studious, works out a lot. Probably goes for an early run and will let you tag along if you’d like, though she enjoys it more than she’d admit. Loves to read, keeps all her smutty literature books underneath her bed, one day you find them and inquire her about it and she eventually caves. She’d be absolutely thrilled if you were also into them. Probably would spend long nights talking with you about various plots and romantic endeavors.
Solas: Generally keeps to himself and doesn’t do anything super noteworthy. Him constantly talking about the fade is a little weird, but you get used to it. Rivals Dorian in the “best study buddy” department. Really good to chat with on chill mornings where the two of you don’t have much else to do.
Dorian: Foreign exchange student, SUPER cool roommate. Within a month he knows all the good spots on campus and downtown. The best places to drink, shop, and study (because although drinking is fun, we can’t be lacking on our studies, can we?) Really good study buddy, aces all of his classes easily.
Blackwall: Kind of awkward roommate. A little sheltered, but you can tell he means well. Always cleans up and takes out the trash without being asked. Probably did something mildy heroic on campus.
The Iron Bull: Really chill roommate, can be messy but generally keeps his shit clean and in order. Invites you drinking with the boys for their weekly ‘no pants fridays.’ You’d think he’d dumb but he’s really incredibly smart, majoring in psychology or criminology (possibly both). Good at comforting you when stuff gets rough or you’re really stressed about classes. Once balanced two spinning basketballs on the tips of his horns and it was pretty cool.
Vivienne: gossip central, mom friend. Is probably going for her PHD right out the bat or she’s double majoring. Can speak like 30 languages and has definitely studied abroad. Has NO qualms over telling you how messy you art and telling you to clean up/do the dishes. Is in like 30 clubs and is probably in the honors college. Everyone’s afraid of her.
Cole: cryptic, takes long walks late at night at ungodly hours. Honestly a really sweet kid, always willing to help others with their problems. Kind of odd but generally gets along with everyone, does the dishes.

ofangelicblood spoke: “ you are not your father. ” [for sera]
Tumblr media
THE WORDS CAUSE something to flare inside her and Seraphina finds herself staring at Jace with anger in her eyes; emerald eyes locked onto him with slight annoyance. ‘No, I’m not. He never fails to remind me of that.’ She rolls her eyes then. ‘Despite his best opportunities, he continuously wants to keep me locked up in this damn library; studying every form of literature he can find.’
Tumblr media
‘His failed experiment.’ She scoffs, recalling the whispered words of the Circle. ‘He never forgets to mention that, the words just dripping with love.’ She looks at Jace then, Morgenstern fire burning in her veins. ‘What’s it like to have my father appreciate you, Angel Boy?’ She doesn’t mean to aim her anger and sadness at Jace, and the words are immediately regretted after she utters them; eyes downcast at the floor, unable to meet his gaze any longer.

Solas on Romances
[First post of this AU]
Solas on Romances
Actually, Solas wouldn’t be romanceable in terms of the Inner Circle. But Esaldir would be. Solas didn’t get along with a number of the Inner Circle members at first, albeit Cassandra, though it was more of professional respect than real rapport between them until much later.
(Esaldir’s sexual preferences are strictly men)
Solas on Esaldir Romances
Solas didn’t like The Iron Bull at first, due to his firm belief on the Qun.
1. The Iron Bull x Esaldir
Tumblr media
Actually, Solas thought nothing much of it at first. He thought the younger elf was just humoring the Qunari spy to build rapport and camaraderie. A part of Josephine’s ‘Esaldir’s a people person, and Solas isn’t all that much, but if they like Esaldir who likes Solas they would tolerate him at the very least’ scheme.
Admittedly, Solas was still 50/50 about that set up.
The first time he heard about their relations, through the whispering nobles at Skyhold, he almost had a heart attack. It would definitely explain why he found that Esaldir appeared to be limping more often lately. He thought the young elf was just over-exerting himself in training.
He then finds the Bull and gave him a shovel talk. Bull didn’t think much of it, but he took him seriously. The Inquisitor was important to Esaldir, so he would respect him just enough. Especially with the older elf’s abilities, he could send demons to haunt his nightmares through the thing he does by going through the Fade on will.
When Esaldir found out, he apologized to Bull profusely and had a serious talk with Solas about it.
Solas backed off. But he was more than willing to hit the Qunari spy after what happened in Adamant fortress to help with whatever Ben-Hassrath training discipline to help him his focus back after confronting such a fearful display of demon shite.
And he didn’t hold back.
2. Dorian x Esaldir
Tumblr media
When it came to choosing who would supervise Esaldir in his magical studies when Solas was busy dealing with Inquisitor business, like sitting in judgment or quests requiring his personal attention, Solas left him with Dorian. Between the Tevinter mage and the Knight-Enchantress, he knew which he preferred.
Additionally, and at the very least, the man didn’t firmly believe that absolutely all mages should be put into Circles. In addition, Dorian had more patience in helping Esaldir out in reading finer literature so both he and Varric were seeing that the previously illiterate elf was become more knowledgeable in some art form. Solas tried to teach him painting, but it ended up disastrously with Esaldir almost empaling his hand with the pointed end of the paint brush. He still wasn’t sure how that almost happened.
For a romantic partner though, Solas didn’t like it. He knew that his being with a Vint, even the ‘good’ Vint, was only going to cause complications in the future for them. In absolutely no manner convincing would he ever allow to let Esaldir follow Dorian to the Imperium. And he can’t expect Dorian to remain in their territory forever.
And he knew long distance relationships didn’t always end well.
But Solas knew he didn’t really have valid authority over Esaldir. If the young elf should choose to continue such relations. He offers his support regardless. Plus, them starting a relationship also stopped Dorian from making as many criticisms to his outfit choices.
And again, he would rather him than Vivienne any day.
3. Cullen x Esaldir
Tumblr media
Esaldir had a crush on Cullen the first time they met since the man had saved him from getting overwhelmed by a demon. So this would be the least surprising relationship he’d find Esaldir getting into.
However, since Cullen was an Ex-Templar, he feared what the Commander of their forces would do should he encounter relapses considering that Esaldir himself was learning how to be a mage from being a rogue, although he would still use bows and arrows more often. It worsened all the more when the Commander confided to him about his Lyrium withdrawal episodes. Surely, he understood the reasons behind Cullen’s decision, but that didn’t make him feel less unsettled about his and Esaldir starting a relationship of sorts.
It certainly didn’t help that back in Haven, initially, the man had rejected the young elf due to his presumed inclinations leaning solely to women.
Still, Solas did trust that Cullen was a good man and that the blond did seem to fear hurting Esaldir more for Esaldir’s sake than incurring Solas’s wrath. Plus, he saw how good they work together. Cullen feeling more at ease, and getting more required sleep at Esaldir’s insistence. The younger elf understood that Cullen would actually have to lose sleep at times, but he was around to dictate where to draw the line. And Esaldir was motivated to take his magic training more seriously in fear of being unable to control it and hurt Cullen in some way, whether that be by triggering the man’s former discriminated fear over mages or simply hurting Cullen by accident with loose magic.
In any case, Solas figured he could have someone worse for a-sort-of-in-law than Cullen. At least the Commander can put up a decent challenge when they play chess.
5. Blackwall x Esaldir
Tumblr media
Of all things, this was one relationship development he did not see coming.
To Solas, Blackwall looked old enough to be Esaldir’s father. Granted, that might be due to the amount of hair he lets grow on his face. Personality wise, Esaldir had a playful nature to him, he has to if he could go along with all the pranks Sera does. Blackwall on the other hand was somber at the best of times, broody at the worse. It made sense why the man would find interest with the brighter, much spirited light that is Esaldir. But Solas couldn’t find reason as to why the latter would find interest in the same manner. Balance, perhaps?
Regardless, Solas didn’t find fault in Blackwall’s earnest devotion to fight for their cause and definitely protectively hovering over Esaldir during battle that Solas never had to worry and could focus to his own fight in front of him.
When they all found out about his true identity, it was only due to Esaldir’s pleading that Solas consider to liberate then pardon the man after his deceit for several years posing as a Grey Warden. Initially, he didn’t approve of the continuation of their relationship right after the trial, but eventually, he saw Blackwall partially the way Esaldir saw him.
A man striving to be better than the one he was and pretended to be. And that effort was to be acknowledged, if not wholly respected.
(I’m just really into the ‘overprotective older sibling/relative’ trope and see Solas having a lot of potential being that way with how he is with Cole, especially after a Cole - Vivienne banter with the bitch accusing Cole of possessing Solas)

about the muse
Thank you for the tag @occorner ! Tagging: @laurelsofhighever @bluekaddis @cassandra-pentughasst @weirdnproudofit @magpiesandmabari @dickeybbqpit @bitchesofostwick @briarfox13 and anyone else who fancies it. I love hearing about your OCs!
Your muse’s name:
Freya Trevelyan
One favorite picture / faceclaim of your muse:
Tumblr media
Two headcanons you have for your muse:
Freya struggles a lot with self-esteem and recognising her own worth. After her parents passed away and her younger sister was taken to the Circle, her guardians squandered what would have been her inheritance. They only invested in her education to make her more eligible for marriage - another source of bringing in money, and the only use they saw in her. She ran away from that life (and the marriage they had arranged for her) when she was 20. She spent the next 10 years using her ‘Noble’ status to smuggle contraband such as lyrium, or rare (and illegal) collectors items like dragon eggs, across borders with minimal questions asked. She snuck into the conclave, using the contacts she’d built up, to get her sister away from the still loyalist Ostwick Circle.
Hidden behind her perpetually worried and stressed facade is a dry sense of humour, which can be occasionally bitingly sarcastic (oh and there’s always room for some gratuitous puns and dreadful dad jokes thrown in for good measure). When she smiles it changes/completely lights up her ordinarily serious/worried features. Her humour is either reserved for when she trusts or feels safe around someone, or when she simply can’t resist and the words slip out unguarded - much to the surprise of those who aren’t used to it. Coupled with the smile, it’s small glimpse of her real self, the woman she grew into in the years between escaping her old life and the attending the conclave. This side of her is seen much more frequently once they move to Skyhold and she becomes Inquisitor - a title she is far more comfortable with than Herald.
Three things your muse likes doing in their free time:
Riding - one of the few things she truly enjoyed growing up was horse riding. And she’s actually very good at it. She can regularly be found at the stables talking and joking with master Dennet about the mounts.
Reading - not just recreationally (or just smutty literature borrowed from Cassandra) but also studying the histories surrounding whatever they are facing, or the areas they are travelling. Her room is filled with large amounts of books, each with various bookmarks filling them (she is not one for folding pages - which is an unforgivable crime to her) and parchment where she’s making notes.
It takes her a while to settle in and feel comfortable, but eventually she likes going to the Herald’s Rest of an evening, whether it’s for drinks with her companions or just to sit quietly and listen to Maryden.
Seven people your muse loves/likes:
Isla - her little sister, a mage who died at the conclave. Isla is 6 years younger than Freya and was an absolute ray of sunshine while they were growing up. She was taken to the Ostwick Circle while Freya was away at boarding school.
Blackwall/Thom Rainier - Yes, she does forgive him, but it hurts. He is one of a very few people who never seemed to put unrealistic expectations on her, or used her status for some kind of agenda or gain, and she loves him for it. They recognise in each other someone who doesn’t feel worthy of being loved (admittedly for different reasons) and, some might say against their better judgement, can’t help but prove the other wrong.
Dorian - one of her first real friends in the Inquisition, maybe in part because he was treated like an outsider while she felt like one. He is one of those rare people who seem interested in her wellbeing in light of everything that’s happening, rather than did she behave how they wanted under the circumstances. She is very protective against people who disparage him, and is pretty much ‘meet me in the pit’ if you dare to question his motives and she gets wind of it. They grumble with each other about family stuff, and will comfortably sit and read in each other’s company, occasionally throwing out amusing or interesting points they’ve read.
Sera - her spark for life and sense of fun is a breath of fresh air for Freya. Sera reminds her of growing up with her sister in happier times. She loves listening to way she thinks out loud as they wander the countryside, especially her banter with Blackwall - it seems to bring him out of himself, making him less stoic and more playful. She and Sera decide to teach themselves to bake - a messy venture but with some good results and minimal food poisoning - much to the cook’s chagrin.
Varric - the first real friendly face amongst the Inquisition. He gives her chances to be herself and his humour helps lower her guard. She doesn’t blame him for not telling them about Hawke, understanding that that kind of trust takes time. Varric keeps trying to teach her Wicked Grace, thinking that her almost unwaveringly worried expressions would be great for bluffing - she is dreadful at it, but enjoys playing all the same.
Cassandra - it takes them a while to become fast friends, given their opposing views on religion. Cass does come to see that Freya doesn’t have to have faith to be able to do the right thing, it just takes time. They become closer after Freya helps Cassandra with the missing seekers. Eventually Cassandra even introduces her to a new genre of literature and takes great joy in watching Freya teasing Varric with the worst bits.
Her parents, who she misses very much. They’re probably a memory seen through rose-tinted glasses by this point, it’s been that long since they died, but their time together as a family is still the happiest of Freya’s childhood.
A phobia your muse has:
Heights! She is knee-wobbling wreck on cliff tops, negotiating the tree-top camps in the Frostback basic (pretty as she thinks they are) and especially in the deep roads next to the drops!

‘Ishall firstly show that Stephen Crane presents us with apsychological study of the guilt of his antihero.Secondly, I shall study the setting of the American Civil Warand the reading of history that transpires through theexcerpt. Finally, I shall demonstrate that Crane deconstructsRomantic motifs and opposes the idea of a univocal deciphering ofNature and man.’
‘Ishall firstly show that the excerpt, as an incipit, proposesan original twist on the presentation of the protagonist. Secondly, Ishall study the way Henry James uses his character to create astatement on America as a nation, at a time when American identitywas a recurring theme in literature. Finally, I shall focus onthe fact that presenting the character in a museum is a way toplayfully stage an ambivalent relationship to art itself.’
‘Ishall firstly show that the excerpt subverts the themes of thecoming-of-age story through the description of an anti-hero.I shall then study the multiplicity and variety of culturalreferences that are intertwined here, and the consequences ofthis on the sense of identity of the protagonist. Finally ishall show how the excerpt both evokes and challenges the idea of aparticular power of words, as the protagonist seems to resortto literature and fiction to escape reality.’
Firstof all, this excerpt offers the reader a satirical psychologicalstudy of an antihero who finds himself guilty of abandoning hisposition in a battle.
Theprotagonist (and only character in the excerpt) is shown asdesperately trying to convince himself that he did a good, rationalthing in fleeing from the battlefield. Although it is obvious to thereader that he only did it out of fear, and is therefore guilty, hisarguments are presented in extenso, as though he were beingprosecuted for his actions. In the fourth and the fifth paragraphs, the free indirect speech attempts to put forward the character’sso-called rationality in an argumentative, almost litigating tone, which even leans towards mock-didacticism with the use of thesimplistic image of the ‘little pieces’ of the army, and arhetorical question l.10. But the character’s repressed guilt isbetrayed by his virulence against the rest of the troop or theexcessive insistence on his own intellectual superiority.
Bon courage !

New question:  Why do I dislike Misha and his fans?
@super-who-loser asked the following question:
Hey, I’m not trying to come across as rude or anything I’m just wondering why you dislike Misha so much? I know Jared and Jensen have been there since the beginning and yes, there have been times where his character has been pretty useless but I don’t hate him and you’re being really mean to some Destiel shippers and like I know that it’s obviously never going to happen and Cockles is a big no no for me but I am confused about why you really don’t like him? I’m honestly just curious
Thank you for the question.  Let me point out before hand, that my irritation towards Misha has nothing to do with a ship.  I used to read destiel slash.  I used to like Cockles AU.  I don't ship wincest.  I ship AUs.  Its my favorite slash subgenre.  So no, this is not a ship argument.  Ship whatever you want, but mind your manners.  There are many things that I don't like about Misha.  However I am choosing to answer only from a SPN perspective because that is the primary way that we know him.
MISHA AND SLASH FICTION
You may not realize this but Supernatural has been on the air for so long that it, plus its fan base, has experienced and initiated a few changes and trends.  In the space of fourteen years, filming became digitalized.  Social media, which was a fledgling thing back then, is the norm now [I have a disdain towards social media].  To put it into perspective, the child actors that played Asher, the Antichrist kid [I forget his name] and Little Lillith from the early seasons are likely in their 20s now.  Trends in entertainment changed.  Hollywood seems poised to implode upon itself, geographically, with major entertainers moving house to outlets like Netflix.  Netflix, not bound by geography, is likely to become the next Hollywood.  Slash, too, has undergone change.  And as far as SPN is concerned, that change has not been organic.  It has been by design and at the hands on Misha Collins.
When Castiel came on board, there were already two prevalent pairings in Supernatural:  Wincest and Bobby/John.  There were other pairings.  But these were the most prevalent.   So Supernatural had slash fans already.  These fans were already aware of what slash fiction was, and they were a self-monitoring group.  They realized that the actors were aware of slash and didn't want it to be the focal point of their con appearances, because they didn't want the fans to think they were hinting at anything.  The fans understood and ever since, they have respected the actor's wishes.  When some fans liked Dean's interaction with Cas, they started shipping destiel.
Destiel's old fans were just like all the other shippers.  They were treating destiel the way it should be treated.  Like a fantasy.  They did artwork and literature about it and kept it to themselves, as they should.  Misha never knew what slash fiction was, until he looked on Tumblr and found Destiel.  In his words, he used destiel to ''keep this gig for longer''.  He kept talking about destiel even though he was instructed not to, and pulling the LGBT into it, to make it look like destiel was about gay rights and queer art, when it isn't.  There are various kinds of destiel written by different people, from different perspectives, for different reasons.  That is true for all pairings everywhere.  By making destiel about the LGBT and waving the ''no shipping question'' rule in convention panels, he did two things.
He turned destiel into a vehicle for LGBT activism.  Instead of being a pastime, now destiel is used to fight for LGBT representation, even though, many of the LGBT people within my own circle despise him for it.  Most of the people fighting for LGBT representation are actually quite homophobic and insulting in their thinking and logic.  And they are not even LGBT.  They are just a bunch of straight girls for whom, their fantasy has become a drug, and they wont stop until destiel becomes canon.
He turned Jensen into the bad guy.  Misha spoke openly about slash.  Jensen chose not to.  He didn't want any part of it, and this is true about all the pairings he is a part of, not just destiel.  Because of his choice, Misha fans make negative comparisons between him and Misha, even saying that Jensen is a homophobe/biphobe because he doesn't want to talk about destiel or make it canon.  They ranted about it on social media and mass media picked up on it.  The University Of Sydney has an academic paper, under Celebrity Studies, dedicated to Jensen's supposed homophobia.  The destiel shippers are literally Jensen's reputation.
Misha should have left slash alone.  Any fan of his will know that he overindulges the slash fans.  And the one thing that I noticed about slash fans, is that you don't give them excessive attention, or they will go completely crazy.  It doesn't matter what they slash.
Harry Styles and Liam Tomlinson learned that the hard way, because the Larry fans destroyed their friendships when they over-emphasized the fan servicing.  They did the fan servicing because Modest Management told them to, they  ended up hating their fans for what the fans became.  They have since severed ties with Modest.  Even on a day when one of them was mourning the loss of a parent, the fans who pushing the other guy so they could have a ship moment.  These two boys were very young when they entered the band.  Harry was 15 years old.  They had youthful ignorance to blame for making the decision to blindly follow the manager's instruction.  Misha cannot make any of those excuses.
Misha got into the show at age 35.  He was already a grown man.  He was not a pivotal part of the show and therefore the only notes he was getting, was for his acting.  He wasn't being coached by anyone as to how he should engage his fans.  He was too small a fry for that.  In fact, no one was sure how long he would last on the show.  So these notes were only acting, including one telling him not to adlib his lines.  Whatever transpired between him and the destiel fans, happened because he orchestrated it.
MISHA AND SUPERNATURAL
When Cas came on board, he was fun new character.  By the end of season 5, he had run his course on the show.  The show didn't need his character because [and as a writer I understand this] the presence of Castiel hampered the progress of the story.  Sera Gamble dealt with that frustration during her tenure as showrunner.  Cas was an angel.  If he was an ally to the boys, the boys should have a more powerful nemesis.  After all, they have an angel buddy to help them.  Unfortunately, they couldn't keep coming up with more and more powerful bad guys and negative elements, especially on a show where the biggest bad guy, the devil itself, and the worst case scenario [the apocalypse] has already been dealt with.
During 6 and 7, they had Soulless Sam, Sam's wall, the leviathans, Metatron, the demons, Crowley, Dick Roman and even the Alphas, if I am not mistaken.  So many bad guys and bad situations, because the good guys had a powerful angel.  They could make him lose his power, so he wont be such a powerful ally.  And they did exactly that.  But Misha has very few skills to show off.  Imagine if Osric was Cas.  Even without power, he would still be able to taekwondo the stuffing out of bad guys.  He wouldn't be useless.  Cas, without his grace, didn't help the story along.  He didn't bring something extra to the story.  He was pointless.  So they made him a bad guy and for the first time in a long time, Cas was pivotal to the story.
Eventually, she got fed up of shoehorning him into the script and just did away with the character.  But, rumor has it that Singer brought him back.  And he was welcome by the worst Q score measurement ever.  That would tell you that he was not appreciated as an actor by everyone, just his shipping and cult fans.  Since then, Cas has done nothing important in the script until recently where he made a deal for Jack.  Other than that, he has been an add on, and that is Misha's fault.  Every time Jensen and Misha did a scene, Misha would overemphasize the destiel aspect, either via social media or during his panels.  And eventually Jensen got fed up and cut the scenes short.  Basically, Misha shot himself in the foot.  The DeanCas fan service made for annoying television for people who didn't want to deal with shippy nonsense while they were watching their favorite show.
If they didn't add anything shipping related, the hellers screamed.  If they did, the hellers screamed canon and queer baiting.  Misha's interference did that.  All he had to do was stop talking, and he couldn't do that, because his fan base will lose interest in him.  In order to keep that one group of militants, Misha isolated all other fans and potential fans.
MISHA AND THE DESTIEL FANS
Misha's fan have sent Jensen various death threats, the receipts of which are on my blog.  A few days back, a heller was setting Jensen's picture on fire because Misha tweeted a lie that there will be a turning point for Dean and Cas in the upcoming episode.  So even though Misha was the guilty party, this psycho is punishing Jensen.  These fans have also discussed kidnapping Jared's children.  When they bully Jensen and Jared, they tag Misha in many of the tweets.  Misha randomly does Q and A sessions based on his tweets, but he has never seen a single threat and bullying remark??.....in ten years??.....really??  Nah, I am not buying that.  Frankly, I think the man just doesn't care.  Acknowledging them will mean he will have to stop them which means he will eventually have to stop peddling destiel which means he will not have an audience which means SPN will kick him right out.  The funny thing is, I think he is wrong.  He might actually have more fans if he didn't alienate them with his special brand of shippy vulgarity.  I could fill a page with all the receipts of the death threats.  And Jensen doesn't deserve that.
I also call out destiel shippers on Tumblr so that everyone else can block the problematic ones.  Have you noticed how many names there are for the destiel pairing?  DeanCas, CasDean, DeanxCastiel and recently I discovered Dastiel.  Have you ever wondered why?  It is because they don't want you to block them.  If you filter destiel, they will use another name.  Why is that?  That is not a ship.  That's a cult.  They want to indoctrinate.  They tag destiel in other fandom names.  They are trying to create more fans for a ship.  That is why I call out specific people.  Especially the ones that tag AKF in their destiel garbage.  I have no issues with the good shippers.  I have done posts about them.  The bad ones might do something criminal one day, which is why they bother me.
This answer, only just scratches the surface.  I am not telling you everything.  I am not telling you about Jared, Robert Berens, Kim, Briana, Travis, Sera Gamble, Ben Edlund, Ty Olsson etc.  I am just telling you the brief basics.  I hope this answers your question.  Have a nice day.  Apologies for the inevitable typos.
