After an alcohol drenched Halloween party at your friends' dorm, you wake up to find yourself in a strange place. This might not be quite as alarming...if not for the fact that it's an entirely different world, enshrouded with pirates and strange magic.
♬♫ Getting Surreal - The Fratellis ♫♬
Nothin' untrue can ever be revealed
Cover my eyes, this is getting surreal
There really hadn't been a dull moment since Zoro agreed to sail with Luffy, and this was definitely no exception.
He blinked rapidly down at the unfamiliar girl stretched across the hammock in the cabin below the quarterdeck of their new ship, fast asleep and dressed in an oddly sterotypical pirate costume with what looked like a fake flintlock pistol tucked into one of her cloth belts. The small "crew" hadn't long set out from Syrup Village on the Going Merry, and already things were getting weird again.
He backed out of the cabin slowly, leaning back through the doorway to look at the others behind him—Nami going over the Grand Line chart, Usopp sitting on the railing behind her listening to her explain the Red Line; and Luffy, carefree as ever, reclined back on the ship's figurehead, still clearly thrilled that his plan to get a free ship had worked out in his favor.
Nevermind the hiccup of all of them nearly dying—again.
"Uh—hey, guys?" The other three looked up at him, Nami lifting an eyebrow at his offhand tone. "I...think we have a stowaway."
"Excuse me?" said Nami sharply, immediately rolling up the map.
"Whoa, seriously? We've got a—" Luffy slid down from the figurehead and hopped down onto the deck, excitable as ever and hurrying over with Usopp and Nami to look over Zoro's shoulder. He laughed a little. "Cool."
"Wh—this isn't cool," said Nami, shaking her head at Luffy in disbelief. "It's technically kidnapping?"
Luffy's face fell at that. "Oh—yeah, probably not cool. Uh...." He rubbed at the back of his neck, glancing between his crewmates. "So...do we turn around and take her back?"
"She's not from Syrup Village." Zoro glanced over his shoulder at Usopp, who looked easily as flummoxed as the rest of them. "I mean, it's not a big town, I know everyone there, and...." He shook his head slowly. "Never seen her before."
Of course it couldn't be that simple. Nothing was ever that simple.
"Then how did she end up on a ship that's been sitting in the shipyard there for years?" said Nami, crossing her arms as she leaned in the doorframe behind Zoro, frowning thoughtfully.
"Five hundred Berry says there was booze involved," offered Zoro, and she scoffed.
"Not taking that bet."
And that was the moment you chose to awaken.
Rubbing your eyes, slowly opening them as you stretched your arms out over your head.
Blinking just as slowly as you seemed to take in the strangers huddled in the doorway.
And then, with a yelp of alarm, you sat straight up, attempting to back yourself against the wall, and fell off of the hammock entirely instead, scooting yourself back into a corner, your eyes wide as saucers.
"Wh—who—where the hell—?"
The crew glanced between each other in growing concern and alarm, and finally, while you continued to stammer in fright in the corner looking very much like a trapped animal, Nami heaved out a sigh. "Not it."
"Not it," Usopp echoed quickly.
Luffy was utterly unfazed, shoving himself into the small confines of the doorframe as well, his shoulder pressed up against Zoro's arm. "Hi there! I'm Monkey D. Luffy, this is my first mate Zoro—" Zoro rolled his eyes toward the ceiling as Luffy clapped him on the shoulder. "So..." He pushed through and sat down in the center of the hammock and you pressed yourself further back against the wall, looking no less terrified. "How come you were asleep on our ship?"
"Sh—ship—?" you repeated breathlessly, glancing warily between him and Zoro. Your eyes landed on the three katanas at his hip and widened even further.
"Yeah! We're going to the Grand Line," Luffy said, grinning happily. "You can come with us, I'm still gathering a crew. I'm gonna be King of the Pi—ow, hey!" he added as Zoro grabbed him by the back of his collar.
"Not helping, captain," he said, dragging him out of the cabin. "Just go do—go do something else."
"I am kinda hungry," he said, frowning. Then he waved at Nami and Usopp. "Hey guys, crew meeting in the kitchen!"
Nami grumbled something about not being a crew, but despite that and rolling her eyes, both she amd Usopp followed Luffy across the deck and out of sight, roping Zoro right into dealing with...whatever the hell this was. The swordsman leaned in the doorframe for a long, silent moment, hand curled over his mouth, brow furrowed, trying to decide how to address the issue. The fact that you had no idea where you were was definitely not a huge help in the matter.
He pulled his hand down with a sigh, crossing his arms.
"Alright, so...you got a name?" he asked finally. You swallowed, eyeing his swords again as you forced out your name—and then pointed at the swords.
"A-are those—real?" Your voice practically squeaked.
"Uh...yeah," he said slowly, glancing down at the handles briefly before looking back at you again, raising his eyebrows. He glanced at the obviously fake gun in your belt, and nodded at it. "What about that?"
"N—no, why the hell would I be carrying around a *real*—" You shook your head quickly, your eyes Stull wide with disbelief. "I was at a Halloween party at my friend's dorm and—"
"Hollow-what?"
You blinked, and gave a small, nervous laugh. "What?" you forced out weakly. "Halloween? Trick-or-treating? College kids use it as an excuse to dress up in stupid costumes and get drunk?"
"Trick or—College?"
This definitely wasn't helping—you were staring at him like he had lived under a rock his whole life, he was staring at you like you were speaking another language, and you might as well have been. It was pretty clear that wherever you had come from, it hadn't been Syrup Vilage, probably hadn't been anywhere even in the East Blue.
But that didn't make any sense at all.
"Alright...." he said, shaking his head, shaking away the growing fog of confusion. "What's the last thing you remember?"
"I—ah..." You grimaced a little, wrapping your arms around your knees. "I vaguely remember getting talked into doing a keg stand, one of my friends dropping me, hitting my head pretty hard." You rubbed at your left temple a moment, and frowned when you pulled your hand back. "I...I swear I was bleeding...." you mumbled to yourself, rubbing at your eyes now.
"So...you got drunk at this... 'Halloween' thing," said Zoro slowly, "hit your head, and...stumbled onto a shipyard to sleep it off?"
That didn't sound right to him—nor did it seem to sound right to you, as you lowered your hand only from your eyes to stare at him, your expression deadpan.
"Last I checked," you said, "there weren't any ships near my campus."
"...Right," he said, nodding slowly. He rubbed at the back of his neck, resting his other elbow at the hilt of one of his katanas, trying to form some grasp of the situation.
And failing spectacularly.
"You have no idea what I'm talking about," you said, your shoulders slumping.
"Nope," affirmed Zoro, shrugging a shoulder. This was by far the weirdest thing that had happened since he had started following Luffy—and considering he had just assisted in saving a minnionaire heiress from being murdered by grown adults dressed like cats, that was saying quite a lot.
"Why does everyone keep saying ship?" He raised his eyebrows at you, glancing slowly over his shoulder at the deck of the Going Merry. "That doesn't make any sense, I was over an hour from the coast, that's—that's ridiculous."
"I mean..." Scratching behind his ear, he turned to the side and nodded out toward the deck. You didn't seem particularly dangerous, so there couldn't be any harm in it. "Guess you can see for yourself, if you want."
Your eyes drifted to the doorway—and then snapped immediately back onto him, your face growing pale in an instant. You pulled yourself to your feet, swaying slightly with the motion of the ship against the waves, and started cautiously toward the door...and then stopped, eyeing his swords again.
Zoro took a few steps back, out of the door and onto the deck, giving you enough space for you to be comfortable—at least, as comfortable as you could be in your present predicament—and gestured for you to come out when your feet remained glued to the floor.
Slowly, cautiously, you took a few more steps forward, stopping in the doorway, your eyes scanning slowly around the the caravel—the barrels sitting around the deck, the ram-shaped figurehead, the sails flapping high over your head in the wind, out toward the water surrounding the vessel on all sides.
And your face went from pale to a bit greenish, before you suddenly rushed across the deck in a stumble, bent over the railing, and vomited.
It was honestly a little hard not to laugh. It shouldn't have been funny; you were obviously out of your depth, bordering on outright panic, with no idea where you were or how you had gotten there—and possibly seasick on top of that. But Zoro had learned, pretty quickly, that if he wanted to hang onto whatever sanity he had left, then it was important to find humor in the absolute chaos that seemed to follow him and the rest of the crew since he had joined Luffy.
And this was definitely no exception.
He managed to cover a chuckle by clearing his throat, not that you were really paying any attention as you slumped forward, covering your head with your hands. Zoro approached you slowly, a little cautiously, largely so as not to startle you and send you tumbling over the side of the ship in surprise, and he leaned back against the railing a few feet away from you. "Ah...you good?"
You lifted your head slowly, looking at him in disbelief.
"No, I wouldn't say that I am," you said. "I'm on a—a ship in the middle of—of—I don't even know where—"
"East Blue." You blinked several times, clearly bit processing what he was saying. "Uh...the ocean?"
"East Blue," you repeated. "So...like...the Atlantic?"
"The what?"
You gave a growl of frustration at that, turning your head and covering your face with both your hands, and Zoro found himself at a lack for words for a long moment. He was definitely no navigator, but he hadn't ever heard of any ocean or sea referred to as "The Atlantic—" nor evidently had you heard of the East Blue.
"Oh, god, what a fucking mess."
"Yeah, usually is here," Zoro said under his breath, more to himself than to you, running a hand back through his hair.
"How—how are you remotely okay with this?" you asked, looking over at him again.
That was actually a good question, one that made Zoro freeze for a long moment. In the past handful of days, he had been imprisoned, almost skewered in a circus sideshow act he wanted no part of, helped beat up a clown with removable body parts, and then there was the whole cat thing. Now he was talking to a girl who had appeared out of nowhere on their new ship, who had no further idea of where she was than he did of where she could have come from.
"Been a weird week," he answered finally, frowning. You weren't the only one a little out of your depth—the entire crew probably was.
Except for maybe Luffy. That idiot didn't seem like anything fazed him, and Zoro almost envied him for it right now.
"Well...we've got a pretty decent navigator," Zoro said, looking down at you. "We could try to figure out where you came from and get you back there."
"Princeton, New Jersey?" He lifted an eyebrow, and you sighed in defeat. "Yeah, thought so." You turned around, and sat down heavily on the deck, staring across the expanse and off toward the horizon, shaking your head. "Maybe I'm dreaming. I've had weirder dreams after blacking out. Or someone could have slipped something in one of my drinks and I'm having a really bad trip." You tilted your head back against the railing, rolling your eyes over to him. "So where exactly are we?"
"We...left Syrup Village about fifteen minutes ago," he offered. "Guess we're probably headed to Loguetown, it's supposed to be close to the Grand Line. And Luffy says he's going to be King of the Pirates, so..."
"P...pirates," you repeated weakly. You looked down at yourself, at the rather gaudy and exaggerated pirate costume you were wearing, and gave an equally weak laugh. "How...fitting." He didn't quite manage to mask his snort of laughter this time, but you laughed as well, so it was probably fine. Laughed, closing your eyes and shaking your head. "And here I was stressing out over studying for finals."
"Finals...?"
"Exams," you reiterated. "Tests. I was in college...in *school*. For psychology, at that. Now I'm the one going insane, apparently." Your laugh trailed off into a sigh as you rubbed a hand across your face, shaking your head. "What a life."
College. Halloween. Midterms. Trick-or-treating. You really might as well have been speaking a different language. It was honestly all too weird for Zoro, and while you seemed to be slowly coming to terms with things—even if you were chalking it all up as a hallucination—you were both still pretty lost. He heaved a sigh, looking down at you, trying to figure out who had given him the authority to deal with this—and then he shrugged a shoulder.
"Drink?" he suggested.
"That's the most sane suggest I've heard since I woke up," you agreed. "If you're all pirates, I'm guessing it's rum on the menu?"
"No idea," he admitted. "We just got the ship. But we were told it's fully stocked."
"In that case, whatever you have," you sighed, laying your forehead against your knees. "The stronger the better."
"Yeah," he agreed slowly, glancing around the deck. There were innumerable ways you could get yourself hurt or in trouble if you didn't have any experience on a ship—and you had made perfectly clear that you didn't. He sighed to himself, and extended a hand down to you. "Let's just...get you situated somewhere first."
You lifted your head, meeting his eyes, glancing at his hand...and then, with a sigh of your own, you took it, allowing him to help pull you to your feet. "Lead the way, I guess," you said resignedly.
Honestly, he wasn't sure where to lead you. He settled on the cabin Nami had claimed as hers, with a full bed for you to collapse back onto, where he watched you pull a pillow down over your eyes, as if trying to blot out the new reality you had found yourself embedded into.
He was still trying to wrap his head around the reality you had spoken of as he left you there to enter the kitchen, where Usopp and Luffy were in the middle of arguing over the new flag that the former had just presented.
"That's unique," he commented, glancing at the design.
"Yeah, but he's not the captain—"
"Yes I am—!"
"I'm the capt—"
"No, I'm the—they call me Captain Usopp—"
"How's our stowaway?" Nami asked over both of them, as Zoro pulled open a cabinet.
"Weird," he answered, raising his voice over the bickering between Luffy and Usopp. Both of the offending parties looked over as he pulled down a bottle of what looked like liquor of some kind. "You ever heard of New Jersey?"
"N...no," said Nami, glancing at Luffy and Usopp—both of whom shook their heads as well. "What is it?"
"I don't know," he said, pulling the cork out if the bottle and giving it a sniff. Whatever it was, it smelled string enough. "Something about college and Halloween. I have no idea."
"So what, we're getting drunk about it?" she laughed.
"You want a different approach, you deal with it." Nami leaned back in her seat, raising her hands in mock-surrender.
"It's nothing to worry about," said Luffy happily, his arm still draped across Usopp's shoulders. "From now on, it's going to be nothing but smooth sailing—"
BOOM—
Luffy and Usopp clung to each other in the shock of whatever had just hit the ship, as Nami rolled her eyes. "Had to open your mouth..." she mumbled, pulling herself upright and hurrying toward the deck.
Zoro glanced down at the bottle of liquor in his hand, his eyes widening as he realized you were by yourself on a ship under cannon fire. He swore under his breath and hurried off himself.
You were sitting up on the bed when he made it to the cabin, had your fingers stuffed into your ears and your eyes clenched shut, and you jolted in alarm when Zoro put a hand on your shoulder, staring at him in borderline terror.
"Uh—here—" he offered, pushing the bottle of liquor into your hands. "Just—stay here."
"Is this normal?" you half-shouted over the roar of the cannon fire, glancing between the bottle and him.
"Nothing on this crew is normal," he assured you.
And because that really wasn't any decent sort of reassurance, he just sort of awkwardly half-patted you on the head before hurrying back out to the deck.
He really wasn't much of a help, any more than anyone else was, when they realized they were being attacked by a Marine ship. There was an abrupt and baffling realization that Luffy recognized the vice admiral aboard the opposing ship as his grandfather. There was an utter scramble as Luffy and Usopp tried to figure out how to fire a canon.
And then, there was a pure spectacle, as Luffy used his Devil Fruit powers to inflate himself into a balloon and deflect a cannonball that Garp The Fist had thrown at the Merry—
"What the f—!?"
And you hadn't stayed put.
God dammit.
Zoro had to sprint to the quarterdeck to reach you. You, gripping the railing, white-knuckled and in clear shock at what you had just witnessed, Zoro reached you just in time to catch you before you could faint in outright shock at what you had just witnessed and hit the deck. You definitely weren't just acting, you really were completely out of your depth.
Though he supposed fainting wasn't the most abnormal reaction to the sight of Luffy turning himself into a human hot air balloon.
Nami leaned against the railing with a heavy sigh once she managed to veer the ship toward a fog bank where the Marines wouldn't have a good enough visual to continue their attack, and shook her head at Luffy and Usopp celebrating. "Looks like they only damaged the railing a little," she said. "Could have been a lot worse."
"Yeah," Zoro agreed, shifting your unconscious form to lift you onto his shoulder. "A lot worse."
"Someone should probably talk to him," she said, looking back down as Luffy took a seat on the deck and set to picking loose straws from his hat. "The whole my grandpa's a Marine Vice Admiral thing."
"Not it," Zoro said, and Nami rolled her eyes over to him.
"You're his first mate. I think this falls under your job description," she said flatly.
"I think stowaway detail does, too," he countered. Nami glanced at you, still passed out cold, and gave a small snort of laughter. "I'm busy. You can go talk to him if you think it's that important."
"Yeah. Busy." She rolled her eyes away from him at that, pushing herself away from the railing. "More like an excuse to get drunk with the hot girl that magically appeared in your hammock."
He tossed a wry glare in Nami's direction as she headed for the stairs. Maybe she wasn't completely wrong—trying to unravel the mystery behind your sudden appearance definitely sounded more appealing than confronting Luffy about his family history.
And, yeah, you were pretty hot.
"I'm just trying to help," he said, shaking his head—he knew better than to tell Nami she was even half-right. She'd just use it to find some way to blackmail him.
"Yeah, yeah." She stopped at the stairs leading down to the deck. "Did she say anything about where she came from?"
He shrugged his free shoulder, glancing at you. "Some place called Princeton-New-Jersey."
Nami raised an eyebrow. "Never heard of it." If the navigator hadn't heard of it...that definitely didn't bode well for you. Nami sighed, glancing at you once more. "Just...I don't know—try to find out more, I guess. See if there's any hints about exactly where she came from. She's got to be scared out of her mind."
"That's the plan," said Zoro, shifting your weight on his shoulder. Nami gave a short nod before heading down the stairs.
Zoro carried you back to the room he had left you in before the firefight and set you carefully on Nami's bed. You were probably going to be on the verge of a mental break when you woke back up, if you were as out of place as you seemed to be. There were plenty of people who weren't familiar with devil fruits, and you had just witnessed the power of one firsthand, in a pretty dramatic way.
Zoro rubbed the back of his neck, staring down at you for a long moment, still racking his brain for some idea of what the hell they were supposed to do with you.
He finally settled for sitting on the floor next to the bed, leaning back against the nightstand, and grabbing the bottle of whiskey. He uncorked it and took a pull from the bottle.
"Never a dull moment," he mumbled to himself, laying his head back against the nightstand with a small thunk.
Which was just enough to stir you—he nearly dropped the bottle in alarm when you sat straight up on the bed, looking around. Then you groaned, falling back again and pulling a pillow over your face. "Why am I still here?" you groaned, your voice muffled. "God, this is a nightmare..."
"Yeah," said Zoro, frowning a little—the whole situation really was a nightmare, and he felt for you on that. "But it's real."
You lifted the pillow, turning your head to look at him, looking utterly defeated. "Are you sure?"
"Pretty sure, yeah." That was a difficult question to be absolutely positive about, but Zoro wasn't really one for waxing existential. You rolled your eyes to the ceiling, your head dropping back onto the bed again, silent for a long moment.
"How," you finally said, slowly, "did your captain inflate himself?" You shook your head. "Not a sentence I thought I'd ever say," you added under your breath, shaking your head, staring wide-eyed at the ceiling.
Zoro gave a snort of laughter and held out the bottle, which you grabbed away immediately, propping yourself up on one elbow to take a long drink. "Devil fruit. He ate it when he was a kid." You looked at him, blinking a few times. "Basically turned his body into rubber."
"U—uh‐huh."
And you took another quick gulp of whiskey before handing the bottle back and shifting onto your side.
"And that's...normal, then? Just...eat a fruit and turn into rubber?"
"It's not really common," he said, laughing a little. "Devil fruits. They're pretty rare. And they all do different things." He took a drink and set the bottle back behind him on the nightstand, stretching an arm out across his knee. "Few days ago we had to fight this asshole clown guy with removable body parts."
"Removable...body..." You gave a small, rather nervous chuckle, tucking a hand under your cheek as you stared at the wall, across the room, your eyes far away. "This is like some stupid anime plot. Hit my head on a fucking keg at a Halloween party and wake up in magic-pirate-land."
"Anime—?"
"Don't ask," you said, closing your eyes and grimacing. "Really not important." You opened your eyes, meeting his gaze with a hopeless sort of frown. "I'm really stuck here, aren't I?"
"I mean...if we could figure out how you got here, or...." He trailed off as you lifted your eyebrows, your expression turning skeptical. He sighed to himself—lying to you wasn't really going to help anything. "Yeah," he said finally, frowning himself. "I guess you are for now."
Your gazes remained locked for a long moment—maybe a moment too long, maybe a little too...intensely. Your eyes drifted for a moment, quickly, passing up and down him, before you pulled in a deep breath and sat straight up ar the edge of the bed, your hand shooting out to grab the bottle of whiskey from the nightstand and take a long pull from it.
Grimacing slightly at the bitterness of the liquor, you lowered the bottle, huffing out a sigh, your face tinged with a hint of a blush.
And Zoro cut his eyes away upon noticing it, clearing his throat a little and standing up from the floor to lean back against the nightstand, putting a little more distance between the two of you.
"Guess it could be worse." He did glanced over when you held the bottle out, and he took it as you pulled the costume tricorne hat from your head and ran a hand back through your hair. "You guys seem okay for 'pirates.'"
He gave a little laugh at that, at how you lifted a hand to mime quotes at the word. "Yeah. Pirates," he said. He took a drink and shook his head. "We're all pretty new to this, so." He shrugged a shoulder. "You're not the only one that's a little disoriented."
"Really?" you said, smirking. Your eyes darted down to his katanas for a second. "How new?"
"About a week," he said. You lifted your eyebrows at that. "I was hunting pirates before that."
You snorted, taking the bottle back, your hand brushing against his as you did—it was subtle, could have been an accident, but between the growing amusement in your tone and your eyes, he doubted it was. "So what, can't beat 'em, join 'em?"
"Not exactly," he said, grinning a little himself as you took a sip and rested the bottle on your knee. "Last time I went to turn in a bounty I got into it with this Marine captain's dumbass kid at a tavern and they took me prisoner. Luffy saw the fight and decided he wanted me on his crew, so he freed me on his way to break into the base and steal a map."
"Wait—" You shook your head, your eyes positively alight with amusement now. "Wait, wait wait—did he know you were a pirate hunter?"
"Yeah."
"So he's either brave or stupid, then?" you said, lifting the bottle again.
"Pretty unhealthy combination of both, actually," he laughed. He took the bottle back when you held it out. "But he's a good guy. Has a lot of heart. Just wants everyone he meets to be able to follow their dreams." You folded your hands over your knee, still smiling as he took a sip and set the bottle down behind him. "So what's the deal with the whole 'psychology' thing?"
"Oh that—that's what I was studying in college. School," you added quickly when he lifted an eyebrow. "Uh, sort of like...a school you go to so you can learn more about the job you want. I'm planning on...." Your smile waned a little as you leaned back on the bed, your eyes falling to your knees. "Was planning on being a therapist. Help people with their problems when they don't have anyone else to turn to." You laughed quietly, biting your lip. "Probably sounds lame compared to what you guys are doing. Fighting with Marines and—clowns with removable body parts."
"No, that sounds..." You had planned on dedicating your life to helping others. "Pretty cool, actually." He crossed his arms, watching you for a long moment as your lips curved toward a small smile. "How's that work, though? People just pay you and you give them adivce?"
"In a nutshell, yeah. It's a little more in depth than that, but..." You lifted your gaze to his, smiling and shrugging one shoulder. "I've still got a lot left to learn, but...I could probably give you a session, if you're curious. For a price."
Zoro lifted his eyebrows as you leaned forward, resting your elbows on your knees, your chin against one of your palms, your smile widening a little as your eyes scanned him up and down again, a little slower this time, more deliberately.
"I might be willing to settle for a date as compensation."
His eyes widened.
What.
That was...forward.
Maybe there had been a little flirting between the two of you, but that had thrown him right off his guard.
"I—uh—"
And you looked pretty amused that it had.
Zoro was saved from his alarmed stammering by the sound of quick footsteps approaching the room. You both turned your attention toward the open doorframe as Luffy skidded to a halt there, his eyes positively glowing with excitement.
"Guys, you gotta see what we found, come on—"
And with that, and without giving either of you a single second to respond, he grabbed you amd Zoro both by the wrist and set to dragging you both out toward the deck. You tossed a sideways glance at Zoro on the way, looking almost frightened.
"Is he always so—?"
"You get used it," said Zoro shortly.
And once on the deck, he pushed you both toward the railing, just as the Going Merry was beginning to emerge from the thick fog bank that had enshrouded the caravel, revealing another, much larger ship anchored on the calm ocean ahead, with several other ships docked around it. A glowing red neon sign hung on the side, high over a door that led into the lower part of the vessel.
"Wh...what's a 'Baratie'?" said Usopp, looking over the railing next to Zoro, squinting at the sign.
"That smell..." Nami laughed as she leaned against the railing next to you. "I think this place is a restaurant."
"Then I know what we're gonna do next," said Luffy, pushing between you and Nami to lean over the railing, grinning.
"Disguise the ship so the Marines can't find us?" suggested Nami, cutting her eyes at him.
"Sail back to Syrup Village where it's safe?" offered Usopp.
"Nah." Luffy's grin only widened as he stared at the atrange ship, and he said excitably, "let's eat!"
You stared at him in alarm as he smacked his hand against the railing and hurried off across the deck, before your eyes turned back to the Baratie, wide as saucers, your mouth fallen open a bit.
"I...it's a fish," you said, a little weakly.
Zoro glanced over at you, and sighed to himself. If this day got any weirder he was probably going to have to take you up on the offer of the whole "therapy" thing. He shook his head a little, shoving away from the railing himself.
"That fish better have a bar."

Shirlulu hints from Lelouch of the Rebellion Exhibition Pamphlet Book
I don't know Japanese so it's done by all Google Translate. If anyone knows Japanese and would like to translate these, please feel free to do so
Tumblr media
SHIRLEY FENETTE
Pretty and lively. Although she is busy with both the swimming club and the student council, her eyes are always fixed on Lelouch. She notices the dangerous expression he sometimes shows, and no matter what difficulties she faces, her feelings for him always win out in the end.
Tumblr media
Feelings of love cannot be forced. Everyone knows that. But if they could be recognized as a couple, wouldn't everyone run to the person they have a crush on? Milly held "Cupid's Day." Shirley followed Lelouch. To the place where he was likely to be... And the two of them became a couple very naturally during the event.
Personal note: I like how it's obvious to the student body and very natural/expected for them to become a couple. There are always these cases where two people evidently care about each other enough for everyone around to think "It wouldn't be a surprise if they started dating any time soon", and Lelouch and Shirley is one example of such cases, showing that Shirley's feelings were definitely not one-sided at all.

She was always by his side. She was a symbol of a peaceful world. There were times when he felt lonely, but that was because she was someone he could truly open up to. She was someone he could be himself with. There is no replacement for her. All he could do was to watch her voice and figure disappearing before his eyes. Geass takes away lives. Taking away someone important to you.

Script by Ichiro Okouchi
I had decided to make the main character of my new show a cool hero.
He has supernatural powers, is full of talent, and has a great appearance. A super character who seems to have the whole world in his hands.
But even though he has everything, he can't get the things that are close to him that everyone else can have.
I wrote Lelouch as a boy with such a curse.
He has the absolute power of Geass, and is a great villain who has access to organizations, military power, power, and eventually even the world.
But he can't get small human happiness - friendship, family, or a lover. He has access to everything else.
But in the end, he gets friendship and a family.
In exchange for his life...
That was the character of Lelouch that I had in mind when I first started planning the show.
I worked on the character with the director and many other staff members, and it took the form of an animation.
How did it reach you all?
The trajectory of Lelouch exhibited here exceeded my initial imagination, becoming much more expansive and richer, almost like the life of a single person.
I believe this exhibition will not be complete until all of you who know Lelouch have seen it.
Thank you all for coming to see Lelouch this time.
I hope to be able to repay this gratitude by one day appearing before you all in person.
CODE GEASS Lelouch of the Rebellion
Personal note: In the OG anime series, Shirley is the only one that becomes Lelouch 's girlfriend after the Cupid Day event (if you listen to the outro of R2 Ep12, you will hear Lelouch trying to balance his Zero acitivies and planning out his date with Shirley at the same time). Lelouch has always taken Shirley's feelings seriously, and that's why he erased her love for him in R1 ( to relieve her of the pain he had caused her for killing her father) and then in R2, he didn't want to let Shirley take his hat at first out of fear of getting her involved in his shit again.
I have always taken Lelouch's vehement "NO!" when Shirley accused him of not being serious when he said that he liked her as him admitting that he liked her, just that he was being weighed down by many dangerous things to properly reciprocate her feelings. But Lelouch gave in to Shirley's straightforward sincerity, accepted Shirley's feelings and his own feelings as well at the end of the Cupid Day event.
And guess what, Shirley was taken away from him immediately in the next episode. And it's clearly the intention of the script writer: Lelouch seemed to have the whole world in his hands, seemed to have everything, except for the little normal happiness like friendship, family, or a lover. In the end, he got friendship (Suzaku) and family (Nunally), in exchange for his life. Notice that the "lover" part is still missing? Because Shirley is gone...

Beel has been tossing and turning all night. He’s not sure how his twin brother is sleeping through it all as he’s tucked snuggly into the spot next to him. Belphie has been sleeping beside him in his bed a lot ever since MC went missing. They have both been having a rough time coping with losing yet another loved one, and they have been practically glued to the hip recently more than usual. He stared at the ceiling, attempting to count the hanging star and moon garlands that Belphie had wanted him to put up in their room some time ago. When that didn’t work, he tried to focus on the sound of Belphie’s breathing, smiling when he let out a little snort here and there. Eventually, a loud grumble from Beel’s stomach echoed through the room and he couldn’t take it anymore. He tossed the covers off his legs and grabbed his D.D.D. off his nightstand. It was exactly midnight, and he decided it was time to head down to the kitchen for a midnight snack.
Beel quietly left the bedroom, and headed downstairs. Thankfully, it appeared that no one else was awake at the moment, although he was pretty sure Mammon had yet to return from one of his late night parties. He noticed that his older brother also had his ways of coping with MC’s disappearance. Beel hummed softly to himself as he rummaged through the fridge, finding the snacks he had kept tucked away for nights like these. He pulled out the Bufo Egg Donut he had been saving and quickly devoured it. He practically moaned at the taste, but still felt unsatisfied. He got a bag of Spicy Newt Chips out of the cupboard and began to snack on them as he scrolled through his D.D.D. He opened up Devilgram to see several pictures that Asmo and Mammon had uploaded, as well as a couple from Levi of a new anime figurine he had just acquired. Beel never really uploaded anything to his page, usually only food or the occasional picture of him and…MC. He knew he’d regret it, but tapped on his profile to see his most recent picture. He and MC had recently gone to a food festival in the human world together, and they had taken a selfie while they each held a giant burger as MC kissed him on the cheek. Beel felt the impending wave of sadness wash over him. He knew why nothing he ate satisfied him anymore. It’s because he was hungry for an entirely different reason. The ‘hunger’ he felt was really just a need to fill the void that MC left when they disappeared.
He must have become lost in the memory of the photo together as he didn’t hear Mammon enter the room. He wasn’t even sure how long he had been standing there staring at his phone, while his other hand gripped the chip bag. “Oi, Beel! Beel, are you with me? Hey!” Mammon half-yelled, as he still wanted to be quiet so he didn’t wake the entire house up. He had just gotten back from his party, and was only planning on grabbing a bottle of water to take to his room when he found Beel frozen in place in the middle of the kitchen. Beel finally blinked, lifting his gaze to see Mammon staring at him with a worried expression. “Why are you crying?” Beel’s eyes widened as he finally noticed Mammon as well as the tears that were rolling down his cheeks. “I…um…” he choked out, his hands beginning to tremble. “Hey, hey it’s alright, don’t worry! Easy now.” Mammon mumbled, gently taking the chip bag and Beel’s phone out of his hand. He set them on the counter, glancing down at the picture from Beel’s phone on Devilgram that Beel had pulled up. The picture was blurry from the tears that had been dripping onto the screen, but Mammon knew all too well it was of his little brother and MC. “Beel, you know you shouldn’t be doing this to yourself.” The red haired demon blinked, his violet eyes filling with tears once more. “I-I realized why it’s worse now. My hunger, I mean.” Mammon leaned against the counter, his gaze fixed on Beel. “Because you miss them, right?” Beel nodded sadly, bringing his hand to his stomach. “I know how you feel. It might not be with food, but my gambling and spending has become way worse.” Mammon paused, stealing a glance down at the shiny gold watch against the tanned skin of his wrist. He had managed to win it at that night’s gambling session at the casino. “All of our sins seemed to intensify the moment MC disappeared.” Beel’s lower lip began to tremble again. Mammon was right after all. Belphie was hardly ever out of bed and Lucifer had even been testing his patience lately with his prideful and short tempered attitude. He just wanted MC back. He wanted them home and wrapped up safe and warm in his arms where they belonged. But he didn’t want to cry anymore, especially in front of his brothers. He may be the 2nd youngest, but he was supposed to be the strongest.
Mammon finally pulled him from his thoughts. He realized more tears were running down his cheeks, and his mouth felt like cotton. “Here, take this.” he said, handing Beel a bottle of water. Beel nodded graciously and began to take slow sips. “That’s it, just take it easy. Do you need me to go get Belphie?” The 6th born shook his head, not wanting to wake his twin for some silly reason such as this. “Okay. Well how about we just sit for a little while. You got another bag of chips?” Beel smiled slightly as he nodded, stepping over to the cupboard once more to get out another bag of Spicy Newt Chips for Mammon. “Thanks. Let's go to the living room, it’ll be way more comfy in there.” The two of them headed into the giant common room and sat down on one of the couches together. They sat in silence for a while with only the sound of crunching potato chips filling the room. “Hey Beel, I was just thinking. It’s like, okay for you to cry, yanno?” Beel blinked at Mammon’s words. “What do you mean?” Mammon shrugged, tossing another potato chip into his mouth. “It’s just that I don’t want ya goin’ and thinkin’ you have to be strong for us all. Just cause you are strong doesn’t mean you have to be all the time.” Beel glanced down at the ground as he fidgeted with his hands. “Thank you, Mammon… I want you to know it’s the same for you. The others give you a hard time but…” he glances up, his violet eyes shimmering with the remnants of tears. “You can always talk to me if you want. I know MC was special to you too.” Mammon blushes as his own eyes begin to water. “I-I uh, dunno what you’re talkin’ about…but uh… thanks Beel.” This time Beel smiles, an actual genuine smile that Mammon knows isn’t just a facade. “Mmhm, MC may be special to us, but we are also special to them. I know they’d want us to take care of each other while they are away.” At his words, Mammon grins and gently bumps Beel’s shoulder. “I can hear them yellin’ at us for moping around like we are.” Beel chuckles, finishing up the last of his chips. The hunger has seemed to dissipate for now. “Yeah, me too. We should probably get to bed because they’d be scolding us for staying up too late.” Mammon gives Beel a pat on the back, wishing him a goodnight before heading off to his own room. Beel makes his way back to his as well, quietly crawling into bed beside his twin. “Mmn, Beel…? You okay?” Belphie mumbles, still half asleep. His eyes are slowly blinking awake, the concern for his brother overpowering the desire to keep sleeping. Beel nods, pulling the covers back up over his legs. “I am now. Let’s go back to sleep, Belphie.”

First impressions of Animoprhs!
I'm listening to the Animorphs series while I work, through Animorphs Aloud - a fan made reading of the series. Here are my first impressions/random thoughts about them! Spoilers below if you haven't read them.
Book 7: The Stranger
I often think how you'd REALLY react if you were faced with something paranormal or magical, because it wouldn't just be the monster or ghost or superhero you have to contend with - but your entire knowledge of the universe flipping on it's head. Legit consider how insane you'd go if you found out monsters were *really* real. And they do this to a random person in the start of most books! Ha.
Kind of surprised they consider a human-alien relationship with any sort of seriousness. How progressive. But then there's been a few hints towards Rachel liking Tobias and he's...a bird. Rachel is very open minded.
Somehow I have my doubts Rachel will move away. The clue is the 47 books that come after this.
Man I feel for Tobias, having to spend the rest of his life as a hawk while potentially watching his friends move on. It's not like he can make new friends. Also how long does he even live? Does he have a hawk lifespan now of 10-15 years?
Rachel wants more firepower and she skips the POLAR BEARS? GIRL. Those things are fucking terrifying! Though I did do a bit of research and turns out when Polar Bears and Grizzlies compete for food it's usually the Polar Bears that leave.
Also I have a hard time believing a bear has more 'firepower' than an elephant. Bit easier to move around and get into places as a bear though.
Still can't get over the frequent use of the slang 'hooked up' to mean meeting. Very different meaning nowadays.
The mental image of them fitting pretty much a centaur into a dressing room is very funny.
Wow. Stopping time definitely blindsided me. This Ellimist is like a god?? Was not expecting that.
The descriptions when the Ellimist is showing off the beauty of earth make me very sad I will likely not get to experience it. It's so sad to know coral reefs exist out there, beauty unparalleled, and you can't simply go and see them. Not without money. It's a cruel joke that we're placed on such an amazing planet and yet how little of it we'll see.
Man this is a genuinely tough decision. I really like Cassie's perspective, that humans are now the endangered animals potentially rejecting the one thing that could save them. Honestly if what seemed like a literal god told me the fight is unwinnable I'd probably give in and tell them to take me to a new planet.
Aaaand now the kids are getting eaten alive. I LOVE the amount of traumatising scenarios in these books. Main reason I started em. Feel a bit bad for the Taxon, imagine eating some innocuous snack and it swells up and bursts you from the inside.
Ax has a thing for cutting off people's arms.
You're the second largest carnivore on land Rachel, Polar Bears got you beat.
Also Rachel totally just murdered a bunch of human people.
Now...time travel? Hm not a big fan of time travel.
Damn the Yeerks invested in free, superfast and wide-covering public transport? I'd vote for them.
This is why I don't like time travel. Is it deterministic? Can it be changed? Boggles the mind. The implication is they refuse the Ellimist's offer and stay and fight, and lose, and Rachel becomes a controller. But why would Ax being there mean the future has changed? Did future-Rachel lie about there being six humans to Visser-Three? Why?
PFFFF I'm sorry but as horrifying as the idea of them killing and consuming Tobias after being infected and turned into controllers is, it's also like Disney-level villainy.
If this is the future and it can be changed, why can't Visser-Three kill them? Sure he wouldn't have controller Rachel so the future would be different but the goal of invading would work?
Well this is looking bleak.
I wonder who is keeping Ellimists in check that they even need rules.
Surprisingly quick and efficient mission! And that's the end of that one. A bit confusing, but I wonder if the Ellimist stuff will get clearer later on.

thoughts on touken ranbu kai so far
i've finished the four current episodes so far, and for the most part, i've enjoyed it! i'm happy to have a new anime, especially since i can't find hanamaru season three anywhere (much less with eng subs). but i still have some issues with kai, some that i hope will be addressed later on.
first off, the things i like!
the gorgeous animation! i haven't taken a lot of screenshots, but everything looks so beautiful! the first scene that comes to mind would be the opening in episode three where mikazuki and the starters watch the sunrise over the water. it's so pretty!
i love the kunihiro brothers!! i'm so glad they're all getting screen time together! the flashback to when yamabushi got injured, and after doudanuki's speech, manba wanted to get revenge on the enemies specifically for hurting his brother? I SCREAMED!!!
sidenote, this focus on the brothers ends up separating horikawa and kane-san, who instead is with yasusada most of the time. i love the hijikatagumi, but it is welcome to see them apart, to potentially introduce new character dynamics
speaking of! manba's conflict - not feeling worthy of being the attendant due to that flashback battle - is new! it's less related to him being a copy, and more of his guilt and trauma. i'm excited to see how this plays out!
the battle royale in episode four is so much fun!! the teams were interesting and i loved how they used the environment, even if it felt too... battle shounen at times imo (hachisuka and kasen fighting on the log and mutsu and kasen jumping off a cliff). always happy to hear yasusada's ora ora ora
THE SANIWA! some people online found the doll and voice creepy, and i did as well, but i fuck with it
but as for the things i dislike...
the touken ranbu animes are... incredibly repetitive. the "newest toudan still has attachments for his old master to the point where it's causing problems in the citadel" plot was in s1 hanamaru and katsugeki. the only difference in kai is that it's more personal with more fighting. what's worse is that this exact conflict has been done in s2 hanamaru (albeit less focus on souza), so kai just feels dragged out with a dash of souza ptsd and more yagen. and judging by the opening, it'll be the conflict for the entire anime...
honestly, this whole thing feels like hanamaru but more serious and prettier with the way characters have to go through the same conflicts. sayo still talks about revenge, souza is a caged bird; in fact, i'm pretty sure yamabushi and manba's dialogue in the first ep happened in hanamaru as well. i know that's a game interaction but seriously? make something new! there's dozens of new characters and we're still using the same guys? boring
i hope episode 5 has nice fight choreography at least. but still, i'm gonna keep my hopes up for the rest of the season. enjoy these screenshots of moon grandpa ft manba

Seeing a few Watamote posts and the difference between Kuroki at the start of the series and Kuroki after that school trip is just so funny. Like a curtain being pulled over the audience, our slice of life about a cringy pathetic loner became a slice of life about a slightly less cringy more shameless lesbian.
Watamote holds a special place in my heart for many reasons. Story time!
I've got a notepad that I've owned for around a decade. Owned but barely used. Can't remember how I got it or when exactly, but the point is: when I started reading manga (One Piece was the first manga I read) my taste was not particularly good, so I just picked series based on the vibe of the cover.
It was getting to a point where too many series where I read a few chapters, didn't quite hook me, and I let it sit there on a firefox tab. I've been doing this for a long long time. 45 tabs open at the time of typing this (I'll get to it on the weekend). So I decided to write down the series I was either reading or planning to and a few anime aswell.
If you guessed that Watamote was on that list you'd be wrong, actually. I apologize for the misdirection. Here's a link [not yet working] where I talk about what's on the notepad.
You see, the important part is that Watamote was intentionally not on the list. When looking for recommendations on what to watch a semipopular one was Watamote, with usual warnings about how it gives you second hand embarrassement and whatnot (or cringe, as I learned later you can use in english).
I did not like the anime. Over time I've watched less and less anime, it's just a bit of a pacing problem for me, I feel like it's just too slow and that's one of the reasons I prefer reading manga/novels. I did not like the anime might be an undertatement, I was shocked at how (I perceived it to be) bad it was. In hindsight I was not equipped to handle a series like that at the time. So I didn't bother to keep it on a tab or anything.
One of, if not the one, site I used for manga was batoto. Back in the day, it was the "less shady" of the aggregators. So when looking for new series to read I'd go over popular manga, or looking at certain tags as I explain on this other link [not working yet, bear with me].
Watamote was popular somehow, but after trying the anime I did not bother to read it. A few things happened. Got kicked out. Moved countries. Was a(n-almost-not-)living corpse for a few years. Roughest time in my life. But.
During this period of time whenever I was off after dealing with the usual chores/meals/shopping I'd be either watching series for english practice, reading manga because I love them or (after miraculously recovering my pc) playing with friends to have a reason to live. Dark but it's true.
One of the series on the notepad was Yuusha ga Shinda (9). The 9 was the chapter I was at. And at some point I decided to keep reading it. The notepad list is hit or miss, with like 80%+ chance of miss. Yuusha ga Shinda is a hit. Pretty silly series, but it was very engaging and took itself seriously when it mattered.
The site I used to read it was wakga's (sp?) blog. I can find this one now, but can't confirm if it's the same of they moved the series to a new one. Wakga also scanlated Watamote. So I gave it another chance since at that point I was trying to give any series a "fair" chance. Later on my stance has changed a bit and I've grown more demanding(?), because some series are just so bad...
But it was the right call.
---
Watamote is a series about Tomoki Kuroki, who at the start of the series is going to attend high school. She's a bit of a loner, tends to mess up very often and gets anxious about it.
The start is very, very cringy. At every chance to prove herself she'll keep digging her own grave, quite often because she just doesn't think things through and sometimes because she overthinks way too much.
Over time she starts meeting people, interacting with her classmates and other kids from school. Still very cringy, but we the readers start to see that she is not as weird as she sees herself, it's mostly a lack of experience socializing plus a lack of confidence with a pinch of pervertedness (is that a word?).
The point of inflection of the series is the school trip, starting around chapter ~70. Not like anything major happens, but from that point is where the series has a new perspective way less Kuroki-centric and with more focus on the other characters.
The series goes from Kuroki doing cringy things and despairing to Kuroki interacting with others as the weird girl she is. The pay off is that we see her go from an insecure loner to a relatively well adjusted lesbian.
One of the most important reasons the school trip is significant is because she interacts with people beyond her close (and very small) circle, showing that everyone around her is weird in their own way; but most of all, she was always ignoring them in a way and they just though she was a bit strange, as opposed to her own self image that was greatly exaggerated.
Currently (chapter 217) the series is about Tomoki Kuroki and her friends on their last year of high school. One could say the series is a slice of life, but one could also say it is a coming of age story about a girl and the friends she makes while growing as a person.
You can read Watamote here.

Right back at you, buddy! 3, 5, 12, 13, and 19 for the behind-the-scenes ask game :D
~ @sammys-magical-au 🫶
(Thank you, Sammy~ 😊😊😊)
3 — Do you write fics from start to finish, or jump around?
When I officially started writing fanfics, I mainly jumped around with the plot until I was satisfied with how things went in the story. And that was years and years ago. More recently, I decided to try writing from start to finish, and honestly. . .I see it as sort of a bad habit? That's not to say it can't work for other writers, but it just seems to slow me down. So, I'm trying to unlearn it and go back to my old tricks.
Like, I tend to think of climax scenes first. You know, the really dramatic/important stuff because, well, it's dramatic/important. I feel that once I get those particular details out of the way, it'll be easier for me to write other stuff around it until the story is full. Plus, that type of format allows for random ideas to pop up and potentially make things even better.
5 — What is the perfect environment for you to write in?
Typically somewhere quiet with no distractions. I take meds for my autism and ADD, but I can still be tempted to focus on other things, thus plagiarizing my stories. I don't like to, it just happens, and I'm still working on it.
When the weather is nice, I love riding my bike over to the library and just writing there for a few hours (so long as some disruptive asshole doesn't waltz into the areas that are CLEARLY MARKED FOR SILENT STUDY. It happens more frequently than I care to admit, but oh well. Not the end of the world).
But if I'm really focused/dedicated to the story at hand, then I can write pretty much anywhere. Just a year ago, I tagged along on a family vacation and seriously surprised myself via writing a full story for Goretober 2023 during the several-hour-long car ride. And I didn't feel carsick once, which was practically a miracle. I'd brought one of the cool-looking notebooks I'd collected on a whim, as well as a pencil and a lap-desk thing. I totally covered the entire backseat with eraser shavings, but it was worth it!
12 — Is there a trope you haven't written yet but really want to?
Hard to say; I've written with tons of tropes—I've definitely done so without even meaning to. If you've read my stuff, then it's probably very obvious which tropes are my personal favorites, but I still try to be open to new ones.
I suppose I haven't written Talking Animals, since the stories I've been focused on are somewhat set in reality (fictional, but not Fantasy, you know?). But I always loved seeing that when I was a kid. Since a lot of my fanegos have pets, perhaps I could write a snippet from said pets' perspective? I know it technically wouldn't count as them talking, but it'd be pretty close, right?
13 — Is there a trope you wouldn't write if it was the last trope on Earth?
It's a tie between two tropes, actually: Minority Character Dies First, and The Pure and The Promiscuous.
The former is completely stupid and racist/ableist/etc., and I don't understand how or why it's still being used in some movies or books today.
The latter is more complex, since it's typically used in romantic scenarios, which I don't write very often anyway. But I still hate it because it just seems insulting to the characters. Like, I can understand the appeal of having one character teach things to an inexperienced character, but the way I've seen it handled almost always leads to the character on the receiving end being infantilized or dumbed-down. Which is bullshit, because the character deserves more depth and thought than that!
19 — Who is the easiest/hardest character for you to write about? Why?
Maybe this is obvious, but fanegos are the easiest for me to write! True, sometimes I struggle a bit, since I want to have a balance of originality and a clear tie to the content-creator the fanego was inspired by. But otherwise, I make the rules. Canon egos also aren't too tricky for me to write; I feel like I'm pretty decent at learning/feeling a character's quirks to make that character seem authentic in fanfic settings.
One thing that's undeniably difficult for me to write is reader-inserts. No shame to those who have requested reader-insert fics from me, because I love engaging with people on here. The problem I have with it just seems to be my own self-consciousness. You already know why I tend to avoid shipping in fanfics, and I guess that also counts as a factor.

5, 12 and 27 for Hector (or any other BG3 characters that you have thoughts on, haha)
(Pop Culture and Fandom-Themed OC Questions)
Hee - ty for the ask! Hec's the only BG3 OC I've deeply developed at the moment, so we'll stick with him for now.
5. What song(s) do you associate with your OC?
Ooh. I'm always very bad at this. [goes to look at Spotify] I don't tend to think of these in advance, but some thoughts off the top of my head.
"She Sets the City on Fire" by Gavin DeGraw has some good vibes for his romance with Karlach; not entirely correct in all the lyrics but the chorus is Very Good.
Everybody knows she's a perfect 10 And I'm hanging on tight till the whole thing ends, 'Cos New York sky can't get much brighter. She sets, she sets the city on fire.
There's actually a lot of songs in my main Spotify playlist that make for good Hector/Karlach feels - "Gone Gone Gone" by Phillip Phillips and "Daylight" from Maroon 5 also fall in this category.
As for Hector himself... this is more challenging, but "The Cave" by Mumford and Sons sticks out at me as a possibility. Its lyrics are pretty metaphorical and subjective but I think (or at least am choosing to think in this moment) that its references to Plato's Cave suggest that it's about someone opening their eyes to the wider truths of the world and incorporating them into a wider, stronger worldview. Which is certainly a good representation of Hector's journey over the course of the game.
12. What animal would your OC have as their His Dark Materials daemon?
Fun question! I love His Dark Materials haha.
Hm. An owl, I think. Fairly wise, not flamboyant but observant. And a guided missile predator when needed. :D
27. In a murder mystery, what role would your OC play? (e.g. detective, sidekick, wacky suspect, rival investigator who gets in thew way, red herring, true culprit)
I'm guessing he'd be the detective, given how thorough he's been about researching the Open Hand murders and how mad he got at Valeria about her not taking her job seriously. XD

So how do we feel about that update
because I'm obsessed
Sheds are changing my life. This is exactly what I wanted. I'm so happy.
(this got really long so I'll put my thoughts under a read more! spoilers for, the update I guess!)
Tumblr media
I am speedrunning sheds immediately. I have already found some places to set them up and figured out how I can fit my entire crafting operations into 2 sheds. Now I just need to move over all the stuff in the chests in my one barn so that I can replace it with the shed and put the barn elsewhere.
Then I can use shed 3 for storage as I've wanted so badly so I don't need nearly so many hecking chests everywhere. Shed 4.... I actually don't know what I'll use it for yet. I actually have options! Maybe I will dress it up like a cute little room, or keep some of my pet collection in it, or fill it with stuffed animals, or see if I can make a cute little flower shop like Lavender would want.... I'm excited. I have options again. And assuming I can find somewhere else to put my other barn, that opens up a lot for me.
Also the barn upgrades are great. They don't take up any more space than before, they look cool, sure they give me more junk that I have to remove to fit more animals in but that's always the truth so it's neat. Now I have... ladders I guess. But I can store them in my shed!
But also. Nel'Vari barns. I am. SO excited
Tumblr media
the moment I saw. that they had added in a frog barn animal. I knew. I would need Nel'Vari barns immediately. I love him I need 10 of these things right now immediately
All the new animals are so cute! I'm excited to get stuff set up so that I can put them places and gain their resources.
To that end, though, I realized that Nel'Vari barns were going to require me to actually do Progression that I hadn't done yet (because so far I hadn't really found anything I wanted that required Nel'Vari mines stuff. I knew I wanted to get there sooner or later, but just... didn't need to yet). I have a fire under my butt again and I'm actually making progress which feels amazing. Trying to seriously manage multiple farms is going to be a problem but what I really need to find a spot to do a massive amount of wheat production which will help with all the barns. It'll be complicated, but I'll figure it out.
uhhhhh oh yeah more RNPCs happened. They're cool! I like Kai, I've met him and I like his stuff so far as I've seen it. I haven't met Vivi yet but I can't WAIT to forcefully befriend her. Wesley is... Wesley. I'm happy for him. I'll befriend him eventually, probably while I'm in the middle of running around Nel'Vari doing mine stuff.
The house customization I haven't been able to play a lot with yet but I will more when I have my sheds figured out and money to waste. Playing Mix and Match should be fun, and I'm glad they're planning to put out more in the future! Even more stuff to look forward to~
Also now sometimes ghosts come and water my crops and I love them. Me and the ghosts are buds.
Tumblr media
But also... this list... ohhhh man this list. I love this list. I'm p excited for most things on it but ESPECIALLY Farm Structures and WG and NV fruit trees. I LOVE fruit trees. I have a whole orchard section on my farm. Passive income is my JAM. Black market? Birthday? MORE RNPCs? I'm looking forward to all of these so much. Race-based dialog I know is something a lot of players have been looking for for a long time so I am interested to see how that gets put in! More dialog is generally good and they seem to have the personalities of the characters pretty well in hand so hopefully they'll just be fun fluff things and Lavender will finally be able to relate to Kitty and Catherine and they'll be best Amari buds forever (And then with Vivi too!)
Anyways I just wanted to spew my thoughts everywhere for a bit because I've been having so much fun again. Tell me your thoughts! Anything you don't like? What do you want to see in the future?
Bonus: Claude continues to have a hard time fighting the vampire allegations.

Pokemon direct thoughts!
I know this direct happened like twelve hours ago but I had to go to class.
Lmao what the fuck are these wheels. Why are the box legendaries bicycles.
Seriously why is pokemon so opposed to just letting me ride a fucking pokemon like a horse or something? Why does there always have to be weird gear and platform seats and equipment??? Just lemme hop on an Arcanine and hold onto the mane for dear life!!!!!
They even have animations of them running! Why can't you just make them run/swim the whole time?????
Pleaaaaaaase let the grass cat stay quadrupedal
Kinda wish they showed off more new pokemon. I know they want to keep some element of mystery but like... I'm really worried we're gonna get another Kalos-tier dex where I struggle to make up a full team of 6 I like with just the new 'mons.
I'm hoping we get a new Eevee this time around. It's been like three gens GF come on!
Looks like they're replacing the Dynamax gimmick with some weird crystallization gimmick? I'll... see how I feel about it
While Pokemon is pretty uniquely well suited to open world games... I'm kind of over open world games, tbh. I'm hoping there's more to it than just catching dozens of the same pokemon over and over (I liked PLA but like... really, open world games bore me a bit) otherwise I'm not sure
OH MY GOD THE LEGENDARY'S NAMES LITERALLY HAVE "RIDE ON" IN THEM ASDFGHJKL
I'm really glad they're adding "no set gym order" as a feature, considering it's been canon since the 90's that Gym leaders just scale their pokemon based on the trainer they're facing.
But no new information on the other two stories??? This is actually something I've wanted in Pokemon for a long time: a game that isn't JUST doing the gym challenges. Like I always thought it'd be cool if you could play a game and do contests instead of gyms as your points of progression. So I'm a little iffy that they say there's three stories... but the only one they talk about is the gym story. Do you have to do all three at once, or can you only go down one for a whole playthrough? I kind of hope its the latter, because the replayability of this game would be GREAT.
I WANT THAT EEVEE BACKPACK (hint for new Eevee? please? New Eevee? Just a crumb of Eevee?)
"Co-op play" do NOT make me interact with other human beings you bastards
Oooooh the tera types thing is neat. Kind of like hidden power, but a whole gimmick on its own. I'm more into this crystal thing now.
Ok looks like you don't just have to wear the dumb school uniform the whole time? I hope not. It looked like there was a shot of someone wearing like a hoodie and other clothes.
Overall I'm like... 6-7/10 on this right now. It has some neat stuff. I really like the idea of the box legendary being with you the whole time (I wish they'd done more with that in Sun and Moon), the open world freeform gym order is a really great idea, I like the pokemon we've seen so far, and the multiple stories has me intrigued. But I gotta see more before I really commit.
I was leaning more toward Violet but... tbh... I think the Scarlet legendary's wheels look less stupid on their riding form and I'm shallow enough to let that sway me if I don't see more tangible differences between them in Violet's favor

So I watched Mahou Shojou Magical Destroyers
Weird, I'm watching a new show again. Anyway, this anime is about the post apocalyptic world where all of humanity (or maybe just Japan) have been brainwashed by the government. All, except for the otaku! The otaku are then put under "protection" by the government....which is actually like concentration camps or somethin. They don't really elaborate on what happens to captured otaku....
Regardless! The otaku rise up to fight against their oppression with the power of magical girls for a world where you can like whatever you want to like!
This premise is entirely as wacky as it sounds and is not treated very seriously. Watching this reminded me of Kill la Kill with how it takes an wild comedic premise, gives it over-the-top action, and closes out with a surprisingly mature message...
Except leave out the mature message part. Magical Destroyers isn't interested in that. Instead, it's a lot more interested in riffing on anime tropes more than anything. This does sound like bad news, but I'm happy to report there isn't cringe inducing dialogue where the characters point out the tropes like, "Well THAT just happened".
Magical Destroyers is WEIRD though. I finished this anime and I don't even know how to feel about it. Was it bad? No, I wouldn't call it bad....but good? That doesn't seem like an apt description either....but I certainly wouldn't call it average. The story tends to setup itself as if it's following anime tropes just to subvert expectations. In a lot of stories, doing this can come off as pretentious, but here it felt like it made sense with the narrative...and yet...it lacks impact too? I just can't decide how I feel here! It almost feels like Magical Destroyers was trying to communicate a message and I just can't parse it.
One thing is for sure though, if you're not VERY familiar with otaku culture or anime tropes then a lot of this show is just going to be strange. I would not recommend this to anyone but a seasoned anime viewer. Plus it's a bit of an ecchi. That just comes with focusing on otaku culture in general.
Well...production talk time. The production is pretty cool! Similar to Kill la Kill, the animation lacks a consistency, but in a way that feels very deliberate. I liked seeing some animation that allowed itself to be loose. Bibury Animation Studios handled the animation work here and I like it! They're pretty new so I don't know much about them, but it sure looked like they were having fun animating this. I hope their other works are good.
The sound though? Not a fan. Soundtrack was on some bologna and I'm not talking about just the opening. It just sounded a bit weak to me. Needed more PUNCH with how bombastic the show was. Yeah, I didn't like the opening either, but it's more because I don't like hardstyle kicks get those away from me.
Anyway, this is an anime original! It's a fairly unique story for the magical girl genre and it's kinda good...I think. If you have seen a lot of anime and like some good 'ol trope subversion maybe give it a go...I guess? I don't know, there's no real complaints from me here so that has to mean it's good to some extent. Anime originals are rare too so support those!
The biggest problem I ever had with the story was how contrived the plot was...but then it actually delivers on that contrivance and I don't know! It's worth the watch! Stop reading my dumb review just watch it if you're interested!

Hi-Fi AFTERTHOUGHTS
Tumblr media
Game: Hi-Fi Rush (January 25, 2023)
Console: Xbox One (Via Xbox Game Pass)
If it wasn't obvious I haven't really been feeling SUPER up for writing about games I played recently for a lot of reasons. Just been tired and out of it. But I wanna clear up my drafts here and also just get these lingering ideas off my mind. But also, I still keep thinking about Hi-Fi Rush!!
During the move, and especially when the move was done, I ended up injuring myself so I didn't want to do much moving. And I still had a bit of time with a free giftpass subscription. And then on top of it this random little game I saw everyone talking about called "Hi-Fi Rush" was added to the service at around the same time. So it was basically the perfect storm for me to play it and help pass the time while keeping off my feet.
As always, this is NOT a review! I'm just throwing up my thoughts about what I felt while playing it! Any game I talk about here is something YOU should check out for yourself and get your own opinion on (especially this one)
SOME SPOILERS FOR HI-FI RUSH AHEAD!!! FAIR WARNING!!
Opening
So like what I said above, I hadn't really given this game a look over until this move due to all the circumstances coming together to make me wanna check it out. I saw everyone talking about it but I wasn't a huge fan of Chai's design and I didn't think I would have a ton of fun with a rhythm action game. But I'm REALLY happy I decided to finally give it a chance! This game is AMAZING!! I haven't played a ton of new stuff this year but I seriously think Hi-Fi Rush is already my Game of the Year!
Stuff I liked
So right off the bat. MAN the animation and art style of this game is AMAZING! I was actually completely blown away by how good the game looks. It's obviously very anime inspired and I was seriously blown away by just how lively and animated they manage to make the whole thing. Particularly with some REALLY nice facial expressions and like, strong poses? If that makes sense? The game is also so bright and colorful and a total treat to look at. Everything is designed super nicely. The whole game is so dynamic and fun to look at.
The characters are also ALL great! Chai's design really grew on me by the end of it (and I especially just love him as a character, he's great.) But like the whole main team is FANTASTIC! I'm so thirsty for Peppermint and Korsika, it's unreal. Why are they so hot? But Maccaron and CNMN are also super cute and fun and have some GREAT moments! And 808 has such a fantastic design! Each member of the team is also just fun and I like their stories and personalities and how they all get along. The bosses are fun too, although I didn't like them as much cause I have protagonist disease brain. AND THE ROBOTS! Oh man the robots are SO good in this game!! I of course loved the lizard ones but even generic robots and the older models all have such lovely designs! They seriously went nuts with every character here and there really aren't any forgettable designs!
The story and writing was also fantastic! I liked the absolutely bizarre hyper-amazon company they created. The plot is simple but really good. I loved seeing how absolutely terrifying and goofy this whole company was. And the story has some really powerful scenes, like when Chai busts them out of the laser cage thing. I actually almost cried during it aha. And this game is FUNNY!! Like, seriously SUPER funny! There's a surprising amount of really good jokes and even a lot of like, meta humor that's not annoying and is really funny. Almost every line is pretty much gold! I loved the story concept, the world concept, I loved every character's motivation, and it's genuinely pretty cool that the protagonist doesn't have an arm that's something you don't see a lot.
And we can't forget the actual gameplay itself! Lately I'm a lot more into rhythm games but I wasn't sure I would be particularly good at this game. But no I actually did pretty well! The combat feels FANTASTIC with timing your combos to the beat of the song. It sounds like it would be really annoying but it's not and you get the hang of it pretty easily. I also really liked summoning the other allies to help you fight and I made some SERIOUS use of them during the game. Being able to buy chips to customize your gameplay and also buy new moves, even new moves for your teammates, totally rocks and makes the game really customizable which is always nice. Outside of combat the actual movement and platforming around the levels is very linear and can be a little slow but it never felt BORING? I always liked it. And I didn't even do everything you can do! After beating it there's still a new side quest and I didn't have enough to buy the hot work out gear costumes for Peppermint and Korsika! But I absolutely WILL be coming back to this game in the future. No questions asked.
Stuff I didn't like
But, yeah, not even GOTY games are 100% perfect haha. This game does have a few small issues that kinda dragged the game at certain points. I have some nitpicks. Like this game also falls into the trap of having combos be really long nonsense button strings like mashing X a bunch. Also I actually was not a huge fan of the way the huge mega corporation was shown to be like "no guys it was good at one point :(" felt a little like a cop out. Like, yeah I guess it was nice with peppermint's mom and stuff but at the same time. No. These companies were never "good and just got corrupted :(" they were always evil. Remember that.
But my main big issue with this game is absolutely the quick time events. There's a LOT of them. And they're not all bad by any means. And like countering the big enemies' special moves feels AWESOME! But especially towards the end of the game it feels like the game CONSTANTLY stops itself every few seconds to throw a quick time event at you and they can just get kinda draining after a while. Like, the whole Korsika boss is a HUGE quick time event. And a lot of times I felt like I was failing it for no reason? Thankfully I managed to do it in one go. But if I had lost would I have to redo the ENITRE fight again? It's too much.
Another big issue I had isn't actually with the game itself. But more so with how I had to play it. For some odd reason when you play Hi-Fi Rush on game pass you cannot download it! You HAVE to play it through cloud! This was my first time ever playing a full game through cloud streaming. And I'll come out and say it: It sucks! So for most of the game it honestly ran totally fine. But I've NEVER in my entire life had good home internet that always worked 100% of the time. So by the end of the game the game just wasn't cooperating. Random crashes, random massive dips in graphics quality, random huge lag spikes. It became REALLY frustrating and there were times the game would just close out MID CUTSCENE!! It was so annoying. I am not a fan of cloud gaming. I can safely say.
Final Thoughts
Even while writing all these little ramblings down I'm remembering more and more about this game I loved. I completely forgot to mention the home base sections! Which were really charming and cute. Or the really funny and goofy emails you could find scattered around the world. Or the fact it uses actual licensed music and even though I didn't recognize a single one it was a nice touch!\
((OH MY GOD I HAD TO COME BACK IN AFTER FINISHING THE POST TO TELL YOU GUYS THAT THIS GAME ALSO HAS THE BEST PHOTO MODE I'VE EVER SEEN?? With TONS of options and cute ways to pose characters and frame the scenes and stuff! It's NUTS! This game rules))
Hi-Fi Rush is SO awesome!! This game seriously rules! It totally feels like a forgotten PS2/Xbox/Gamecube game that would have a huge cult following now! In the absolute best way possible, of course. This game was an absolute blast to go through and I loved EVERY SINGLE SECOND of it. Even when the quick time events were really annoying.
Apparently this game was a bit of a failure from what I've read? I haven't done too much research into it. But if that's true that's REALLY sad. This game is super creative and looks AMAZING! It's seriously so good looking you guys and it's SO funny! I think this is a game everyone would love if they gave it a shot! I seriously cannot recommend trying it enough! Sometimes AAA games can be good in the modern age! Who knew!!
===
Thanks for reading, I haven't been playing a TON of stuff lately cause I've been really all over the place and a bunch of stupid shit has been happening to me left and right. But I mean, you all see me posting tons about random itch games I'm playing on twitter so. You know I'm still out there somewhere, gaming. Hopefully the rest of this year will be filled with more gems like Hi-Fi Rush!
That's it from me I suppose. Go out and play a game that makes you LOVE music!

"𝐒𝐈𝐌𝐎𝐍 𝐒𝐀𝐘𝐒."
izuku midoriya | friends older brother!izuku + college student!reader + f!reader + squirting + size kink + more! minors dni! does this count? as dark content?
— 2.4k words
"It's simple: I'll stuff you full with two fingers, but they only do what simon says. Understand?"
Tumblr media
“[Y/N?]”
“Uh, hey Izuku!” You smile, grip tightening around the strap to your bag. Izuku fills the doorway, broad shoulders kissing both sides of the frame, and you can’t help but feel minuscule in comparison. “Kota around?”
Izuku shakes his head, peering over his shoulder for a second before returning his attention to you with a click of his tongue. "Uh, no I think he's out with Eri. They should be back soon though...it's been a few hours."
"Shit," you curse under your breath. Your friend's older brother smiles in apology, biceps straining under his white tee.
"You need something?"
"Yeah," you nod, forcing your eyes back onto his, instead of the broad chest presented at eye-level. "Just my precalc book."
Izuku waits a second, thinking, before his palm claps against the doorframe and he's walking deeper into the house. "Come on in, then! I'm sure he won't mind."
You step into the house after him, and it's...weird. Weird being with your Kota's older brother without Kota there, because despite the thousands of times you've been in your best friend's house and as well as you know the greenette, you and Izuku have never been alone.
Tumblr media
"Find it?"
You've been rummaging through Kota's room for a solid ten minutes and somehow still empty-handed, moving slowly in fear you'll see something you can't unsee. And hey, with Kota and Eri dating, anything's possible.
"No," you sigh, ready to give up rather than find a strap-on. "It's fine. I can just come to get it tomorrow or something."
"How soon do you need it?" The greenette asks, his forearms leaning against his younger brother's dresser. You take a seat on Kota's comforter instead, silently hoping you'll find your book by accidentally breaking your tailbone against the damn thing; you're a little disappointed when all your ass comes in contact with is a plush mattress.
"Like, tonight," you grieve, knowing that tomorrow morning, your math grade will suffer severely. "'S fine though. There's always another test."
Izuku snorts at that, crossing the room to take a seat next to you. The bed whines under his weight but doesn't collapse, and you feel a little bad to say you're surprised. Voice full of reminiscence, he sighs, "Ah, the college days."
You giggle, "You act like they're lightyears behind you."
"They might as well be," the greenette shrugs, before reaching behind your waist to steal a pillow. "Couldn't tell you a thing I learned."
You shrug trying to remember the last time you’ve felt prepared for a test, “Neither can I.”
Izuku chuckles and nods, though you’re convinced it’s because he has nothing to say. An awkward silence takes possession of the room by the neck, and you shift awkwardly, unsure of what to say that could give you an excuse to leave, or at least redirect his strange yet heavy gaze. As Izuku licks his lips, you notice how close you two actually are, as he's big to the point where your shoulders almost brush, but not quite.
"How um, hows your boyfriend?"
You scoff at that, but you suppose it's been a while since you and the greenette have talked one on one—and the last time you had, you weren't single.
"Oh uh, he's fine, I guess," you brush it off with a shrug and a wave, cringing at the thought of how that ended. "I don't know. We broke up a while ago, so."
"Oh sorry!" Izuku flushes and throws a hand over his mouth, and you giggle.
"You're fine. He was an asshole anyway," you chuck a laugh, but it's not really that funny. Frankly, he's left too many emotional scars to count, along with the ones healing from past exes. "I...don't have a good reputation when it comes to picking boyfriends."
“So, I’ve heard—no offense,” he says sheepishly, though you don't blame him. You've definitely had a few surprise visits caused by a nasty break-up or two, knowing this is the place you'll probably find both of your best friends hiding out. When Izuku speaks again, it’s borderline awkward as his eyes dart around the room, cheeks puffed and lips pursed in apprehension. “Found...anyone new?”
You frown, “Anyone new.”
“Yeah!” Izuku exclaims, and it’s almost encouraging. “Like a new boyfriend.”
“Oh,” you laugh, shaking your head. “Um, no. Like I said, I don’t have much luck with that type of stuff.”
Izuku snorts, rolling his eyes before he’s adjusting himself to lay on the pillow, half of his body upright. “I bet you do. You might not realize it, but you do.”
Now it’s your turn to snort and roll your eyes, leaning back on your hands with a huff. "You're just being nice, Izuku."
"No, seriously!" He props himself higher so you can see he really is serious, evergreen eyes locked and deadset, "Like—okay, and this might be a TMI or something, but how do they, y'know, and then be dicks, y'know?"
"They don't."
"They don't...what?"
"They don't...make me cum," you heave with great depression, despite the seemingly surface-level complaint. With wrists tightening around your ankles, you hate uncomfortably in the silence, and watch Izuku's mouth open and close, before it opens and closes again.
"Like...never?"
"No." You give him a weird look.
"But what about your last boyfriend? I thought he—"
"I don't know what you're looking for, Izuku," you chuckle, shaking your head. The greenette seems more pained than he is shocked, eyes wide with a big fat pout in place of a neutral face. "It's not like I haven't had an orgasm before. Just...not with someone else."
"That's not the same!" Izuku defends, slowly becoming more animated than you've ever seen him. "It's like...more passionate with another person, you know? And that makes everything a whole lot hotter."
"Thanks," you huff, mood souring more than it already has. Izuku's mouth stills once he realizes what he's essentially bragging, guilt clouding his face. As you exhale out of your nose, you can't escape feeling bad for snapping. "Look. I'm perfectly fine with being the only person to be able to make myself cum. It's not that deep."
"You sound like you expect no one to be able to," Izuku snorts with a raised eyebrow, shoulders bumping against yours. "You've just...had bad boyfriend luck. That doesn't mean no one's capable of doing it."
"Well," you click your tongue bitterly, because you've heard all of this before, and you're utterly tired of hearing it. "They've been able to make all their exes orgasm. And it's not like it even matters, relationships aren't abou—"
"I could do it."
"I—" you blink, shaking your head at the pure audacity of his request? Suggestion? Comment? Whatever the fuck. "Excuse me?"
"I—wait, listen," Izuku rushes like you're getting ready to book it the fuck out of there, sitting upright so his body is turned to yours. "You're...it's...I've been told I'm good with my fingers, right?"
And what a way to start a story.
"Izuku, in the nicest way, every guy is like this," you scoff, "He thinks he's all that just because a chick or two said you made her feel really good. I don't need to fake another orgasm."
"You won't have to," Izuku purrs cockily, leaning forwards on his hands and making you wonder where all of this is coming from. "Let's play a game of simon says, yeah?"
"Simon—" your chest collapses with a giggle of pure disbelief, "I'm not that much younger than you, you know."
"I wouldn't be offering if you were," the greenette reasons, eyes growing dark slowly, if any. "Yes or no?"
"What's the catch?" You bargain and Izuku huffs a laugh. You can feel it on your face.
"No catch, Pretty," he hums, and you can feel the vibrations in your fingers. "It's simple: I'll stuff you full with two fingers, but they only do what simon says. Understand?"
You gulp as Izuku lifts a hand—and a very large one, at that—and it's jagged and rough with scars and bulky knuckles. His free hand makes you grab his wrist and you're fingertips barely touch, but you’re pulling his hand south by your own volition.
“Gotta take your pants off first,” he chuckles, and you flush red. That would be helpful, yes.
It doesn't take long before they're off though, flung towards a corner somewhere—and this is when you realize that maybe, you shouldn't do this on Kota's bed.
"Izuku maybe we shoul—"
But before you can say anything else, he's pushing your panties to the side and shoving both fingers into you at once, eyebrows folding as he groans under his breath from the sensation.
"So wet already? Clearly, someone likes this more than they let on."
"I—what the fuck happened to simon says!" You yelp, but his fingers don't move. Izuku just beams like the deceptive asshole he is.
"Game starts now," is all he says, and you're huffing, propping yourself up on your elbows. Izuku's fingers might as well have knocked the wind out of you, lungs struggling to find room to breathe as he curls his fingers to tap directly onto your g-spot with worrying precision.
"Simon says um, move please," you grunt out. Izuku's fingers stay still, and you frown, kicking him in the thigh. "Hey, I sai—"
"You gotta be more specific than that, Pretty,” he says with a grin. You snarl. "Tell me what you want me to do to you."
"I..." you start, but it's fucking embarrassing, and you know Izuku feels you twitch around him when you say: "Can you um, fuck me with your fingers."
He doesn't move.
"Simon says fuck me with your fingers, asshole," you grunt with narrowed eyes, though they widen when he starts to pump his fingers in and out, chuckling when you shiver from the dexterity.
Except, his fingers move painfully slow, and you find yourself gritting your teeth at the speed when he doesn't make an effort to go any faster. You click your tongue—he's really going to make you request everything, isn't he?
"Simon says faster," you growl with a challenge burning in your eyes, and Izuku meets them with equal fire, fingers finally forgetting their torturous pace for a much quicker one. Finally.
"Fuck! Simo—simon says right t-there," your legs spread wider and Izuku makes more room for himself in between. He hums with dark eyes as you whimper and whine his name, writhing in his younger brother's sheets like they belong to him—like you belong to him.
"I wanna touch you all the time, you know," Izuku grunts before cursing at the sight of your wetness around his fingers. "Make you feel good, make you mine. I don't think Kota would approve, though."
"We don—" you wheeze and he places a hand next to your head, towering over you. The angle only gets better, your hands digging into the sheets as Izuku's fingers curl just right. "We don't have to tell him."
Izuku chuckles at that, chest rumbling as he leans in closer to the point where your noses nearly touch. "You dirty fucking girl."
You moan at that, hips bucking into his hand. You're so close and yet you need more, something else to push you over the edge for good. With a whimper behind a bitten lip, you say, "S-Simon says rub my clit."
Izuku's thumb falls upon your clit and you squeal from the amount of initial pressure, thighs jolting from the white-hot waves that pump through your bloodstream as his thumb moves in small, ever-quickening circles that have you gripping for Kota's comforter for dear life.
"Iz—Izuku I'm gonna—g-gonna cum," you pant, and he's ripping his hands away before you can even reach a hint of the edge. You glare at him out of pure and utter betrayal, and he beams.
"Simon didn't say, did he?"
Your mouth flies open before your brain has time to process it all, "Simon says make me cum, p-please, I need to—fuck!"
Izuku's stuffing you full with his fingers in an instant and his thumb returns to its rightful place.
"Yeah? You gonna cum for me, Pretty?" His hands somehow find the energy to speed up to the point where the clap of his palm against your pussy fills the room, slowly being replaced by a lewd squelch as you tighten around him. He chuckles when all you can do is whimper, grappling for his big shoulders as he says, "Oh, yes she is. So fucking close I can feel it."
You let out a broken moan and in a blink you're squirting, body buzzing as you make a big wet mess of Kota's sheets. It doesn't even register how screwed you two are because you're too busy wading waist-deep in the sea of Izuku's eyes, chest heaving in time with his as he gives you a look of pure awe. Not at what you've done, per se, but at you, and that's when you understand it—the passion.
"We should uh, probably clean up," Izuku flushes as he chuckles, cheeks pressing into the crescents of his face, and you find yourself smiling along with him. With a final click, he pulls his fingers out, gesturing to a circular wet spot on his now see-through shirt. "You made quite a mess."
Fuck the passion.
You shove your fists into his chest and Izuku laughs, pushing your hands away with his one dry free hand, wiping the wet one on Kota's sheets.
"Izuku!" You gasp, looking at the new and improved addition to your mess. The greenette shrugs.
"What? We're going to have to clean it anyway," he shrugs before assuming the dry spot to your right and nestling his forearms in the pillow to peck you on the forehead. Then he freezes.
"I uh...am I allowed to do that?"
You roll your eyes, grabbing him by his squirt-soaked shirt to pull him into a kiss. Izuku hums at that, suppressing the urge to smile as his big hands find their way to your waist. He's an annoyingly good kisser
"No, you're not," you say with swollen lips once you pull away. Izuku grins, teeth digging into his bottom lip as his eyes flutter to yours for a moment, before they're staring into your soul again.
"I like you," he boldly states, albeit quietly, like he's talking to your eyes and nothing else. "Like, a lot."
"I—" You start, but you're interrupted by a click of a lock and the sound of the front door opening. Shit.
"Oi! We're home, Izuku!"

wc: .7k | rated g | m.list
a/n: i'm great, hbu? ty for requesting and this is such a cute one! it's bringing me back to when i had braces, which i actually loved. as always, my inbox is open to chat or req!!
reblog pls ♥♥
Tumblr media
➳ lucifer does his best to ignore them, trying not to think about how cute you look with braces. it's hard, with how much you smile, because they’re pretty much always in his face. sometimes you catch him looking at you, face the slightest bit pink, but as soon as he notices you looking back, his eyes dart away, and he clears his throat, rejoining the conversation like he was never distracted. you, of course, are unaware of the effect they have on him, and you should be, as it was crazy how affected he was by something as simple as braces! it was almost disgraceful.
Tumblr media
➳ mammon literally can't look at you. like seriously, you think he hates you because he never looks directly at you, eys instead fixed over your shoulder or something. he eventually manages to get somewhat used to them, but he still can’t look your way for long before a blush threatens to explode on his face. he watches you brush your teeth at night sometimes, transfixed by how normal it looks, as if you aren’t brushing around metal every time. his staring weirds you out a bit, but you pass it off as a character quirk and ignore him most of the time.
Tumblr media
➳ levi thinks you look just like one of his favorite characters from a show he’s watching, which means his mind is filled with images of you cosplaying the character and looking great while you do it. he learns you can switch colors and is immediately by your side, begging you to switch them to orange, which is his color. not only does he think it’ll look really good on you, he also gets a small thrill from the idea of you having his colors, you proudly showing everyone you loved him so much so you were willing to put it on your teeth.
Tumblr media
➳ satan sets about making sure they have food on hand you can safely eat, even if you assure him it doesn't really matter what the orthodontist says, as you don’t really listen anyway. he reads all of the informational packets and asks a lot of questions, and when you get them tightened and return with a slight lisp he can’t breathe, as you’re just too cute. you’re confused on why he suddenly seems to be short-circuiting around you, making you have to repeat stuff two, sometimes three times before he actually understands it.
Tumblr media
➳ asmo can’t believe how you manage to make even braces look good. it’s totally unfair, and he notices as soon as he posts a pic of you smiling on devilgram his follower count increases insanely and he sees a bunch of demons and witches out and about, casually rocking braces. you’ve managed to start a new trend! he takes full credit for it, of course, and even though he wishes he could look good in braces, he has to admit, every pic he has of you with them is fantastic. this just means he’s even more enthusiastic about them, making you pose in more and more pictures.
Tumblr media
➳ beel doesn't notice for a little bit, but once he does, it’s like he completely loses the ability to interact with you normally. he kis6 stares at you, watching the glint of metal, a blush on his face. he gets the urge to squeeze, like humans do with cute animals, and whatever he’s holding at the moment usually breaks, clenched in his vice-like grip. sometimes you allow him to squeeze your cheeks gently, examining your teeth from close up. if he accidentally squeezes too much strength then you get cheek kisses in apology, and he swears he can feel the imprint of metal through your skin.
Tumblr media
➳ belphie didn't know you had braces until he got out of the attic, and then it was hard to reconcile his image of you without braces with the image of you with them. this leads to him staring, but he’s much subtler than any of his brothers, so you don’t really notice, something he’s grateful for. you switch to purple once, not thinking anything of it, but it puts him in crisis mode as he tries to figure out if it’s a message to him of some kind or just coincidence. it’s just a coincidence, but belphie can’t quite convince himself of that.

➡️Draken | Ken Ryuuguuji
The sun filtered through the window with lilac curtains giving the room a slight glow illuminating the scene within it; a tall young man with blond hair sat on the floor on the black carpet with a noticeably smaller girl behind him.
There was no one else with whom he could let his guard down like this.
Draken despite the cold shower, knowing that he has rested well and that he should not be sleepy, your soft hands combing him make him drowsy, lethargic and with heavy eyelids, he could hardly see your reflection in the mirror in front of him. He, concentrated on his braid and there was nothing better in the world than you being so close that he could feel your warmth, your soft caresses.
With care and gentleness you manage each blonde strand between your fingers, intertwining little by little. You did not see the mirror, they only saw blonde locks that slipped between your fingers, he had beautiful and well-groomed hair. Almost finalizing the braid was when you directed your gaze towards the mirror in front of you; Draken seemed to be nowhere near falling asleep again from the way he nodded slightly.
"Are you sleepy Ryu?"
A denial was the answer clearly but you only laughed at the obviousness of his lie, he was so cute when he was so helpless and vulnerable with you. They were unique moments and by how he snuggled between your legs he said that he only wanted to spend a few more minutes like that, together.
In the morning when even their paths did not separate, Ken Ryuuguuji could allow himself moments of vulnerability where you would cradle him carefully, smiling at all times and he did not need to have his eyes open to know that your face only showed love, he had already gone through a long stage of doubts, denial and self-inflicted pain that knowing who you are, his partner, that you are by his side and that you do not have any doubt in loving him as he is, with everything included only makes him feel more secure. Draken didn't doubt his love for you, he never could.
"I just want to stay like this for a few minutes"
"All you wish Ryuu"
The "I love you" were in the air and were received by both, they knew that love was mutual ...

➡️Mikey | Sano Manjiro.
The days you left school were naturally late thanks to the extra classes, the club, and other activities. It was normal to walk through the hallways of the school meeting only a few students from grades above who gave tired greetings, it must be difficult to be anywhere from leaving you assumed.
The silence was comforting as something cold.
Once with your outdoor shoes on, you left school seeing how your boyfriend was on his motorcycle with his cell phone in hand distracted, a clumsy idea emerged from the depths of your head and you executed it without thinking twice; you covered his eyes with your hands feeling the seconds how his hands touched yours, it was difficult to hold the laughter.
Mikey only limited himself to smiling without you seeing him, from the moment he felt your warm presence he knew it was you and only as confirmation the sweet aroma of your perfume invaded the air making it comforting, you were warmth, affection and home. You were so smiling, sweet, attentive and funny that sometimes he thought how you had noticed him.
As if you had a detector for his pessimism, you kissed your boyfriend on the cheek when you discovered his eyes showing your remarkable pout openly.
"You are bad guessing love" you accused fun catching your partner's face in your hands, you held between your little hands a mysterious, beautiful and so enigmatic world called Sano Manjiro "It will be that I am very good and I take you by surprise. What if? "
Mikey could only smile and let himself be carried away by your beautiful voice, you seemed to have a sixth sense for when he was just getting into negative thoughts about his relationship and he felt grateful for it, you were so special and irreplaceable.
"Aha, of course" accepted the blond amused, receiving another kiss with pleasure but this time on the lips. Mikey loved the feel of your smooth lips against his own, he could taste the taste of your gloss directly from your lips and it was the best feeling in the universe. "Come on I'll take you home."
The words died from the moment you got on the motorcycle behind your boyfriend, clinging with both arms to his waist and hiding your face from the wind that you knew would impact on your face that you still did not get used to. The soft roar of the motorcycle lulled you, the aroma of fabric softener, sun and sweets coming from your boyfriend only made you feel even more comfortable that it was inevitable not to rub your cheeks against his back, love overflowed from your heart .
"I love you Manji" you whispered softly, without the intention of making you listen but because of a red light one of Mikey's hands was caressing yours, you knew that he had heard you.
"I love you even more S / o-chan"
The green light on the traffic light sealed the rest of the trip in a pleasant and sweet silence, where they knew they were safe.

➡️Hanagaki Takemichi
It was late when they finally managed to get out of the game room, both laughing at monumental losses in silly games but with a more than happy smile on their lips. Takemichi couldn't help but smile and feel the constant pounding on his chest as your fingers were intertwined with his own, it felt good.
"I had a lot of fun today Michi" you said once you were both waiting for the train at the station, your gaze fixed to the front and then looking at your side hoping to find him looking elsewhere but you met his unmistakable bright eyes that made you blush "We should go out like this more often, I say if you don't have more meetings with Touman "
"I think the same! We won't have any meetings at the moment so you will put up with me longer, ”Takemichi joked laughing.
"I like spending time with Takemichi-kun so it wouldn't be to put up with it, it would be spending quality time with my boyfriend"
You refuted by giggling when you heard that he was choking on his own saliva, so you let go of his hand to gently hit his back helping him out of his stupor. Takemichi could only try to stop coughing and when he did he felt you closer, one of your arms behind his back surrounding him and how you leaned against his. It was instinct and perhaps the feelings of him speaking for him since he left a kiss on your head, he could smell the fruity aroma of your shampoo and the unmistakable essence of your perfume.
Little did you know that your Takemichi could only think of a way to save you, never to lose your smile and treasure each new memory.
You were his first and only love ...

➡️Atsushi Sendo | Akkun
The journey from his school to your school was about half an hour, but it was worth every tiny second for Atsushi who, like every Friday, had separated from his other friends to pass by you. Even though they had been going out as boyfriends for more than two and a half years, he still felt the nerves all over his body and the butterflies flying in his stomach that multiplied when he saw him leave the main doors laughing at something that your friends said, you looked beautiful with the glow of the sunset making you the center of their world. It was ridiculous how just by seeing you could make him fall in love more. Trying to regulate his nerves I wait for you when he saw you say goodbye to your friends and jog the rest of the way towards him. Was it even allowed to look this good and attractive in a school uniform? He did not know.
"Did you take too long Atsu?" you questioned your boyfriend smiling.
The other people ceased to exist the moment you approached him, the moment he could see your bright eyes and catch the sweet aroma of your perfume in the air.
"Not at all I just arrived a few minutes ago, how was school?"
With a remarkable pout you started with your remarkable anecdote of this day without even knowing that Atsushi was looking at you as if you were hanging the sun, the moon and the stars in the sky. Akkun only listened and commented from time to time, until it was his turn to tell about his day at school. Neither of them noticed when their hands clasped, it was natural.

➡️Tachibana Hinata
The dark sky above their heads only gave more seriousness and intimacy at the moment, with her nerves on the surface Hinata could only see how the wind moved your hair and carried in it, the scent of your shampoo or perhaps your perfume. perfume that I gave you on your birthday a year ago?
"The moon is beautiful tonight" you said to the air.
Hinata did not take long to detect the message behind your prayer, endless nights watching k-dramas, anime and watching movies xianxia by your side made her understand the references, she loved how you expressed yourself so casually by dropping messages of your unconditional love.
"If the moon is beautiful S / o"
When Hinata thought that silence would fill the air, your voice was heard again but this time in front of her. Hinata could only swallow hard to see you standing in front of her, so she could see the difference in heights between the two and how the elegant beauty accentuated your being, you were so pretty and attractive that it could not cross her mind that you corresponded her feelings but there they were; in the park late at night on a romantic getaway that consisted of a motorcycle ride and talking in a park where they had confessed.
"But I can't help but think that I'm lucky to be able to call you my girlfriend Nat."
"It is not worth it! You always know what to say and you leave me like a fool in love looking at you. You're unfair S / o-chan! "
Before her words continued Hinata felt your lips brush against hers, your kisses were so soft and gentle that she felt so fragile in your arms, so loved and desired.
"I love you so much Nat"
The kisses continued gentle, soft and in order to communicate love, one more memory that the couple would engrave in her memory.
