During one of this normal days, or maybe during calm night? You finally saw him..You were looking at eachothers, not sure what to do - sure, he may be a killer now..but this killer was once your friend? Does he even recognize you? But to your suprise, he just started laughing. It wasn't his casual maniac laughter..this one were more friendly, just like the laugh of him you remembered. The laugh of your best friend. He remembered you..and even if he is way diffrent now, then the part of him is still your best friend. You are finally something good in his miserable life, and he almost felt normal once again. Its funny how you make a man like him smile and sigh in relief, just by your presence. And he doesn't care what he did do somehow deserved you again - all he could do is being grateful for that.

Hi! Thank you very much for the kind words, I appreciate it! (Obviously answering this after a while, as the scrapped ending topic isn't quite as omnipresent now.)

On one hand, I do think their relationship has aspects of codependency, for reasons I'll go into below. But there's a lot going on in their relationship, and I also believe people use this term as sort of a catch-all for the various issues.

So, what is codependency?

Codependency is a dysfunctional relationship dynamic where one person assumes the role of 'the giver,' sacrificing their own needs and well-being for the sake of the other, 'the taker.' -- Psychology Today

I mean...doesn't this sound like Killua's unhealthy, self-sacrificing devotion for Gon?

Killua mostly takes on this role himself, but Gon does stoke this dynamic, assigning Killua the role of holding him back in dangerous situations and expecting him to clean up after his messes.

Killua is happy to have this role supporting Gon and takes it seriously, but as the series goes on, the burdens he deals with on Gon's behalf keep getting more and more extreme, and when Gon pushes him away even when he's doing his role (trying to keep Gon from doing something reckless and getting carried away, in the scene where Gon confronts Pitou), it breaks Killua's heart.

The issues between these two have a root cause: Both of them love each other more than they love themselves. This is the key to understanding many of the underlying issues in their relationship.

In Killua, this manifests by devotedly taking on whatever Gon wants or needs no matter what personal cost it has to him, trying desperately to be of service to him because it's the only way he knows how to express his love for him. Coming from the Zoldyck family, it makes sense acts of service are one of the only ways he believes love can be expressed meaningfully. As I said in another post, he even takes on things Gon doesn't ask him to do, and then hides how much he does for Gon and the costs it has to him, so Gon isn't even aware of how much Killua suffers on his behalf.

In Gon, this manifests by prioritizing Killua's life while recklessly disregarding his own. Remember this line?

I come back to this scene all the time because it's vital to understanding the way Gon values Killua above himself. To Gon, his life isn't worth all that much, but Killua's life is another story.

When Killua could have died if he dodged differently in the Dodgeball match, Gon loses his temper completely, to the point where he can't even answer Bisky's simple questions. I recommend reading the whole scene to see just how pissed Gon is about this, but for the sake of brevity here's the most important part:

This happens before the pivotal scene of Killua holding the ball for Gon, severely injuring his hands. There's a lot of complexity to this scene and what it means in their relationship, it honestly deserves its own post because it's difficult to summarize, but it shows us Killua being perfectly willing and happy to be gravely injured on Gon's behalf, and Gon accepting Killua's willingness to sacrifice and suffer for him. Definitely a case of codependency, if you revisit the definition above.

At the same time it's an indication of deep trust and understanding between the two: Gon knows that Killua wants to do this for him and he allows him to do this because he knows it has meaning to Killua. Killua knows that he's the only one Gon would ever entrust such a task to, and that means the world to him, even before Gon says his "It has to be Killua," line. And ultimately, even if it's a bit twisted, this act is all in service of Gon trying to avenge Killua being put at deadly risk.

When Gon is in front of Pitou and says the "This means nothing to you," line, this is intended to push Killua away, tell him it's not his fight. This battle is Gon's burden, he's willing to give up his life if it comes down to it, but Gon doesn't include Killua in his plans because, after all, Gon believes that it's okay if he dies, but not Killua. While the way Gon lashes out at Killua says more about his emotional state at the time than his intentions, his repeated pushing Killua away during his grief and rage is one of the ways he ironically shows love towards Killua--he doesn't want Killua to have to share this burden or die on his behalf, because he sees it as all his fault. Even when Killua contributed to what happened in a way (knocking Gon out in order to take him and leaving Kite behind, something Killua definitely blames himself for), Gon refuses to blame him even slightly.

But because Killua stakes his entire self-worth on how useful he can be to Gon (codependency), being pushed away by Gon and not allowed to share his burdens and his pain is just about the deepest wound Gon can inflict on Killua. It's not what Gon intends with his actions--if anything it's him trying to protect Killua in his own way--it's just the way their respective issues with self-esteem manifest, and it's unfortunate. It's why they need to split up for now, to heal and work through what happened, so they can come back together, communicate properly, and build a better dynamic the second time around.

Now, when discussing their codependency I think it's worth remembering some things: They are both young teens with issues with trauma and self-esteem, who haven't had close friendships prior to this. Many of the less healthy aspects of their friendship, like their lack of fully communicating for instance, are tendencies from the ways they were raised. They adore each other more than anything, they almost never intend to cause harm to each other, and the "roles" they take on in the relationship that end up hurting them are generally more self-imposed and coming out of their individual issues than something either of them is forcing the other to take on.

Their relationship has been transformative and deeply meaningful to both of them, and they're definitely happier together than apart. The issues between them need to be addressed and reflected on by both of them, but I truly believe this is something they'll be able to overcome ultimately.

“Hm, but were they all better than Ateez’s performance?” Jeno asked, laughing when Sooyoung only blushed. “That’s all we heard about, how amazing their performance was, how crazy their dancing was….you even talked about them more than BTS!” Jeno pointed out, the rest of the boys chuckling when Sooyoung just shook her head.

“I was just complimenting them! You all agreed with me too! You couldn’t keep your eyes off when Twice was performing, I don’t want to hear it!” Sooyoung argued back, removing herself from Renjun to flick Jeno on the head. “Can’t a girl just observe and compliment?”

The rest of the boys introduced themselves, one by one. Sooyoung started bouncing on the balls of her feet, itching to compliment them like she was beforehand.

Sooyoung only continued to get red as she started at Ateez longer, especially with them all looking starstuck.

I want to do a quick disclaimer I’m not the ceo of coswave (or am I 🤨) so everything I say is how I interpret coswave. I pull a lot from canon as well as my own hcs and stuff so it’s up to you whether you like how I interpret them!!

Soundwave and Cosmos’s dynamic from the beginning has always been about constantly learning and growing. These are two mechs who have very little experience with normal and healthy relationships (soundwave having significantly less experience than cosmos) so they end up building off of what they learn together.

They’re both very firm with their beliefs. Cosmos will never be a decepticon just like how Soundwave will never be an autobot. They compliment eachother very nicely with how they act and react to things, so where one mech struggles the other can be a pillar to lean on (for example soundwave struggles greatly with interpersonal relationships, so cosmos helps him with proper and polite interaction as well as trust building. Cosmos struggles with standing up for himself and putting his own comfort and safety first, so Soundwave helps him figure out how to say no when someone wants him to do something out of his comfort zone).

Soundwave’s idea of love stems from his understanding of loyalty which is incredibly unbalanced and unhealthy (ie complete devotion and submission). Cosmos’ idea of love is much more balanced but he tends to see love as something that is conditional (ie love that will only be given if you do something for them first). A massive part of their relationship is getting past these preestablished ideas of what love is meant to be and understanding how to treat their partner as an equal and treat love as unconditional.

Cosmos is not intimidated by soundwave one bit. He’s respectful of the fact that it’s Soundwave’s station that he’s on, but if he needs to challenge something soundwave says or does, he absolutely will. Cosmos may be nervous and has trouble standing up for himself, he is not shy about standing up for his morals or for other people. Soundwave is still a decepticon—he has selfish tendencies and nasty habits , but he won’t ever get too far in his malicious scheming if Cosmos has anything to say about that. Cosmos is always challenging Soundwave’s views and behaviors, and Soundwave honestly finds it exciting. Not many people can do that with the confidence and spunk that Cosmos can (and get away with it the way Cosmos can).

Soundwave has a whole decepticon space station to run and is notorious for Not Taking Care of Himself so fueling tends to be in the hands of Cosmos and TRUST Cosmos takes it very seriously. Due to energon shortages that effected the decepticons so bad during the war, Soundwave didn’t really fuel as much as he needed to (oftentimes giving his rations to his cassettes) so Cosmos was quick to rectify that and get him up to a healthy size. Cosmos keeps soundwave (and the cassettes) fueled and healthy.

Soundwave tends to express his love for his partner physically. He likes to have a hand on Cosmos’ plating whenever he is within reach, even if just for a second. He’s not good with his words (the irony of the communications officer who sucks at communicating) so he likes to show that he loves and trusts cosmos by touching him and letting him touch in return (this one is very important. Soundwave likes when Cosmos returns his physical affections the same way you say “I love you” back when a loved one says it to you). Cosmos, on the other hand, likes to express his love verbally. He doesn’t mind physical affection (he loves it) but he likes hearing it out loud. He praises soundwave and expresses how much he loves him on a regular basis, and though Soundwave struggles to return the affection verbally, he makes sure he holds cosmos extra tight or presses his mask against Cosmos’ own a little longer when Cosmos says I love you.

sneeg ate frank which is caused by a whole thing in itself right because slimecicle wasnt feeding him in the cage and he didnt even get through the cooking show where slimecicle tried to feed ranboo like twice so you can only assume he wouldve done the same for sneeg. and its more or less implied that sneeg had been in the cage with franks body for atleast a little while and he would still have to eat something. and slimecicles a cannibal so why would he even bring sneeg food in the cage when theres already food in there with him? and even if you were to ignore all that sneeg was still the only one that consistently ate throughout episode two. and its really implied that all the food in general is organs n such just under a filter because slimecicle was eating it and then in episode two in the candy room when vinny tries the candy he spits it out and says its disgusting but sneeg didnt have a problem with it he was eating the entire time they were in there. sneeg knew frank before he died and if you take the "everything about the characters is a metaphor for how media portrays things" idea seriously you can assume that they were in love with eachother which leads to really the main reason i think showfall would kill frank and not bring him back like they do with everyone else because evidently theyre homophobic. anyway you put sneeg in that cage with franks body and nothing to eat he will eventually have to eat frank to stay alive whether he even knew frank was dead or not. and cannibalism can be a metaphor for so much like sure i guess from a meta perspective you can take the cannibalism in the show as a metaphor for how audiences just take and take but in universe they really are eating people. and innocent cannibalism is traumatic and awful and would add the layer to the characters that everyone always talks about but i really do think the idea of sneeg eating franks body is so much more compelling than charlie unknowingly eating some guts that was served to him. cannibalism isnt an easy thing it takes hands and teeth and bravery and you really do have to be set on it to do it. and it wasnt like he could leave the body after eating or get rid of it or anything and no matter what kind of cannibalism it was he still was carrying around whatever was left of frank and talking to it like frank had never died at all and in the bad hat scene when the filter broke for sneeg he had to have seen that frank was dead and fucked up from getting eaten. and with the idea that they were in love you can even take the cannibalism as a metaphor for it because even after frank was permanently dead he wouldnt leave sneeg because sneeg ate him and its not like showfall could just undo that even with how powerful they are they could never undo that sneeg had bloodied himself and touched and tore and consumed and loved frank no matter how many times they reset him or how many times they kill him in gruesome ways. showfall could never fully take frank away if sneeg ate him

**important to note

-most of these are set after they all graduate top gun

ice and maverick have always thought the other was attractive, it wasn’t a very well kept secret if their time at topgun was any indicator, and anybody with eyes could tell that they wanted to be with each other and finally, finally they fell into bed together after months of dancing around eachother and their feelings and it was eye opening for the both of them. mav looked ready to bolt when he woke up next to him because ice meant more to him than a quick fuck but he didn’t know how to tell him that and didn’t want to fuck anything but between them, but ice held onto him with, the patience of a saint knowing that he’d just gotten maverick to see his feelings and he wasn’t letting him go anytime soon.

they talked it out with only a few shed tears before maverick pushed ice back down onto the bed and showed him just how much he meant to him. (mav called goose and told him everything, with carole right there behind him chipping in and adding her own comentary) (apparntly goose owed her five dollars because she knew that it was going to happen soon after the mission, goose thought it would’ve happened taken months) (mav rolled his eyes at gooses’ lack of faith in his ability to get with a guy he liked but didn’t rebut it because he never thought he’d get here with ICEMAN of all people)

mav and ice do NOT take things slowly, as neither of them are known to be passive about what they want. they already spend most of their time together during the day as their stations together, but now they have an excuse (they didn’t need one before) to spend even MORE time with eachother and they are insufferably in love.

ice who drinks coffee in the morning not because he needs it to wake up, but because he likes the taste. mav who needs coffee to even think about starting the day, so ice, who wakes up first, makes mav’s coffee first then his own. (he likes seeing mav all soft and sleepy in the morning, and he’s always rewarded for his efforts with a happy grin, a soft kiss to his cheek and a “thanks sweetheart,” in mavs delicious morning voice, but he likes to say it’s because it’s the only time mav isn’t running his mouth)

mav runs warm but ice, ironically, runs warmer, so they buy the best a/c money can buy because ice is a tactile mother fucker and can’t sleep without at least one limb touching mav at all times.

everytime ice gets deployed somewhere different than mav (which is hardly ever because the navy recognizes how fucking good they are together) maverick relishes in the free space because while ice curls up to go to sleep, mav spreads fucking eagle. legs and arms out starfish style (though he is always very happy to have his personal extra limb back in bed with him)

ice sleeps on the left and mav sleeps on the right, though sometimes when mav gets sick or ice isn’t there, he’ll sleep on ice’s side.

ice rarely gets sick, he has seasonal allergies that he takes medicine for but when he does get sick he gets SICK. he’s coughing and hacking and he can’t breathe and everything that could go wrong goes wrong. mav always knows when ice is sick because he gets cold and clammy and miserable.

ice never takes being sick seriously and will try and go back to work without much care and it takes mav (and slider usually) to coerce him back to bed with a good book and promise to keep with updated on any changes back on base.

mav on the other hand sneezes twice in a row and swears he’s dying, but he’s just dramatic. mav gets sick A LOT. the weather changes and he’s down with a head cold. he’s also allergic to cats and ice’s family has three fat, spoiled tabbies named mimi, stella and princess and they LOVE maverick.

however, poor mav can’t even be near anything they touch because he’ll break out in hives. he will however down as many benedrill as he can and play with them because he loves them just as much.

his attempts to convince ice to let them get a cat always end in a resounding no, because ice actually likes having his boyfriend not in severe medical distress because a cat so much as looked at him

being sick is one thing but when it comes to the big stuff like injuries, broken bones and the like, no one takes it more seriously than ice. as soon as something feels off, ice is at the base hospital asking them to look over it, he doesn’t want to jeopardize his flying at all.

on the other hand mav gets such an adrenaline kick whenever he’s in the air that he doesn’t feel any injuries until it’s too late.

once he wasn’t strapped in properly in the tomcat and tuned a corner so sharp he rammed his elbow against the canopy and it shattered. goose heard a sickening crack come from mav’s general direction and the groan that he let at the turn and immediately told mav that he had to land the plane. mav asked goose if he was okay and all goose could do was gape at his idiot of a best friend becuse there’s no way that if goose heard the crack from somewhere in mav’s body over the roar of the engine that mav wasn’t feeling at least something.

eventually, after he got mav to land after he stubbornly stupidly insisted he was fine and that he needed to finish his training, goose flagged down medical and when they arrived mav’s flight suit was drenched in blood at the arm and he was leaning on goose just trying to breathe through the pain because the adrenaline he had from flying was gone and the pain kicked in real fast and all he remembers is someone touching his elbow and how much it burned and white hot pain coursed through his body .

he’s told later in the hospital that he passed out, eyes rolling back and that with his maverick fucking luck he actually landed on his elbow, injuring it more before anyone could catch him. he then passes out again, though this time it’s medically induced by anesthesia as he’s being prepped for surgery.

the next thing he knows he’s waking up in a hospital room on base with a cast on his elbow and ice sitting at his side. once he’s wake ice looks at him for a few seconds, looking at him worriedly as he breaths out a soft, “jesus mav,” under his breath. then remembers he’s upset with maverick and loudly recalls all the details for him and yells at him for 25 minutes for being so stupid for keeping himself in the air injured and bleeding and how one day he swears mav will kill himself in the cockpit and when he does ice will dig him up and kill him himself because, “pete you’re not dying by anyone’s hands but mine.” and mav stopped listening because ice had obviously not realized the slip but maverick did and wow did it make his heart beat faster because that was the first time ice had said mavericks name. not mitchell, not maverick but pete.

so pete leaned up and smiled so wide it made ice pause because there’s no way mav was smiling through his lecture (if being called a reckless fool by your boyfriend was considered lecturing) and then he felt mav pull him by shirt collar with his good hand and kiss him speechless. “that’s the first time you’ve called me pete, tom.” and wow ice loved hearing his name on mav’s lips so he just smiled back, “yeah, well maybe ill do it more if you aren’t so stupid.” and all mav could do was laugh and kiss tom again within an inch of his life.

goose, who came to visit with bradley just sighed and covering his kids eyes and clearing his throat loudly. ice and mav jumped apart quickly and blushed, before mav smiled as bradley (who’d been let down by goose once they’d separated, smiled widley at his godfather, “MAV! daddy said you got hurt cause you were dumb so im here to make you feel better!” and ice chocked out a laugh as mav shot his best friend a look, “oh did he, well your daddy must love me very much if he brought my favorite godson over to see me” and goose and ice just rolled their eyes fondly because mav and bradley did this little routine so often it was second nature, “but mav im your ONLY godson.” “that’s why you’re my favorite baby goose.”

it made mav and bradley happy so no one had to heart to tell them it was a corny joke, because it was cute to see mav so happy. everyone could tell just how much he loved the kid and bradley loved his godfather just as much.

mav smiled wider, if that was possible, and picked bradley up with his good arm and placed him on his lap. ice sat next to the two of them and goose on the chair beside of mavericks bed, and the four of them just chatted, well it mostly consisted of goose and ice ragging on mav for being a bad influence of bradley, and for being dumb in general (calling him a dumbass in as kid friendly a way as they could) when carole was about to join them and saw just how happy and relaxed they all were, so she snapped a picture of them, which made them all turn to her at the flash. “whatcha up to honey?” goose had asked as he called his wife over to join then and pulled her on his lap, “oh nothing, just admiring our family.”

and if ice’s smile got a little wobbly at being included by the most important people in his boyfriends life, then no one else had to know but him.

i hope when the lisa definitive edition releases old and new players start to see the party members as not only a fun mechanic to progress in the game but also as their second purpose (specified even in their gang page)

which is to tell how different the people of olathe are from eachother from good to neutral to bad.

all of the party members got their own personalities, points of view and goals, which i've always been appreciative of because it makes them all feel like they're their own person and it shows that they're not going to think exactly like you just because they're on your side.

so some of them can be assholes that despise brad for different reasons and are even creepy to buddy and others can just be neutral on the whole thing or don't care about brad but don't hate him and there are others who are nice people who just want someone to hang out and get attached to brad and it pains them to betray him at the end. some of them even got someone they care about too the same way brad cares for buddy.

and all of this is made just so you don't see them only as tools, they are written this way to show you what the people of olathe are like from a closer perspective. the only other way to do this would be using npcs which would go more overlooked, and it already IS overlooked by players

becuz over time i've seen toooo many fans who speak as if absolutely every man in olathe is an asshole and a pedo, which is why they congratulate tooley too much just for being decent to buddy. i like him but you give him too much credit for something other characters do as well.

and they talk like these are just 'olathe standards' and like it's okay for this game when No, this game condemns this type of behavior at all times and it makes it very clear. it's not normal, it's just common

i mean was terry a creep towards buddy??? bo?? carp?? shocklord? birdie? nern? olan? the warlords??? and more characters and there are even npcs who deeply question the stuff going on around buddy or are simply not interested in her

and then i see takes such as "maybe x character is gay becuz they don't seem interested in buddy". pal i can think of a million better reasons to consider a character gay (sometimes no reason at all, have fun). (also again, TOOLEY. i mean he was seen at the beehive, isn't that a better reason to think he's gay??)

you don't need to be a pedo and a rapist to be attracted to women, and it's crazy how little the concept of consent matters to some people, because this isn't the only time i've seen this type of thinking over a piece of media.

this is a way of thinking that comes from people who got into lisa for the fun battles and do not understand the story, and it's sorta okay, it's fine if the battles are your favorite thing or if you're not that fond of emotional stories, but you can't ignore this part of the game, to do that you better just play something else, because my problem is that when you try to explain the emotional matters of lisa's story they never want to listen; they preffer living in their little bubble of misinterpreting everything. (like the amount of times i've tried explaining to other fans why lisa isn't worst than her goddamn dad and it's like talking to a wall) like damn, i love the battles too but i can perfectly have both things yknow.

anyway just my silly little thoughs that have been going thru my mind these past weeks, i take this game too seriously but i also feel like it's dumb not to because that's what it wants you to do.

I don’t know how based my opinions really are but I’ll share some for you. My opinions are based off my experiences as a kid when I watched it so I’m kinda biased to certain things. I’m currently doing a rewatch of 2012 so some of these might change for me later. Some of them are opinions and others are based off my own headcannons. I’ll make two lists.

My opinions

None of the brothers are abusive to eachother I will die on this hill.

Seriously tho Mikey’s older bros like him they just get annoyed sometimes, it’s not even just Mikey every bro got annoyed with eachother at some point.

The show sometimes has a ‘ew feelings’ vibe when emotional development could’ve fixed some of the problems in the show

Splinter tried his best, he messed up but I don’t think he was abusive to the turtles. But overall he dealt with the cards he got the best he can despite losing a child and then gaining 4 more on accident.

The pressure put on Leo to be a leader and eventual caretaker for his family isolated him from his brothers and detrimentally affected him as a teen.

Watching him talk to a hologram of his only adult figure while his 3 same aged bros were outside broke me dude. Probably an older sibling thing but going to people you’ve been taught to look after for your emotional grief is almost impossible tbh

Raph and Donnie in true middle sibling fashion get sidelined when it comes to development sometimes.

Raph obviously struggles with feeling misunderstood and feels isolated, it causes him to lash out. His position as the team defender naturally makes him more inclined to value his bros over himself and it took a toll on his self worth and identity. Slash and Destroy kinda hurts man.

Leo got saddled with eldest daughter syndrome and ascended from big bro to mom. He’s jealous of Karai because she wasn’t shouldered with the responsibility he has but he also wouldn’t trade it for anything either.

Setting the romance arc aside, Karai’s a fun character to watch. Sometimes I’m like “Go girl! Kill them!”

Idk why people don’t love 2012 Casey more, he’s one of the only charming teenage troublemakers I’ve seen written well. Dudes hilarious

2012 April is not that bad, I was fine with the weird admiration triangle thing she Casey and Donnie had. Girl really loved the turtles and Splinter even without the romance subplot.

Leo killing Shredder was justified, it was an act of vengeance and revenge.

Raph, Donnie, and Mikey could’ve also been good leaders but they trust Leo to keep them safe more than the others.

Mikey’s high adaptive ability is overlooked but is a really good trait for a martial artist. Treating Mikey as a defenseless little kid makes little to no sense when he is the most adaptable physically and emotionally and the most intuitive bro. Mikey could take all of his bros if he needed to imo

Donnie’s sass has a body count

I think people forget that the bros are the same age, it’s such a big deal that they’re technically the same age. Like with Rise, we all know Raph’s the oldest and he acts and is treated as the oldest but in 2012 it feels much more like Leo was chosen to be the oldest. Splinter treats Leo as the oldest but the turtles see Leo as the same age and equal to them. It’s so uniquely jarring to have Splinter set Leo aside and tell him he has this responsibility and he has to be a parental figure to people who are the same age as him. And then having his brothers and teammates treat him like he’s a kid like them and openly challenge the principles hammered into him by his dad is too relatable to me lol. Like the power imbalance exists but at the same time it doesn’t, I have so many thoughts about Leo send help

The “rong” scene is possibly one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.

Leo’s leg should’ve been a reoccurring thing, when a joint is dislocated it’s very easy to dislocate it again. One of my sibs dislocated their shoulder fighting, dislocated it again on accident and will need surgery someday to fully repair it.

I enjoyed the farmhouse arc and how it gave the characters more internal conflict and interpersonal conflict. Their dynamics shined in some of those episodes

If Leo wasn’t the leader he’d be the inside man and team medic.

The team is split as such: Leo-leader and strategist, Raph-brawler and defender, Donnie-tech specialist and medic, Mikey- wildcard and team morale maintainer

My headcannons that make the series better for only me

Leo and Raph are the twins ever

Mikey’s actually the most naturally talented martial artist but is too busy having fun to train seriously.

Donatello’s mutagen medicine was faulty because he wasn’t the team medic and never made something like medicine before. Leo was the medic and since Donatello was able to learn med procedures fast and knows their biology he opted to be the temp medic. He’s really well suited to it too despite the pressure and anxiety. He became the official team medic after the farmhouse arc.

Splinter didn’t want his sons to get too attached to him because turtles obviously out live rats by a wide margin and he knew he would only be in a small fraction of their lives. That’s a big reason why he was distant from them.

The other reason being losing Karai and thinking she was dead for 15 years.

Raph and Mikey are smart and reasonable like Leo and Donnie but like annoying their bros with chaos.

Donnie’s not actually a caffeine addict, the anxiety just powers him through anything.

Someone finally sat Leo down and made him understand that the team dynamic in Star Trek is what led to success on the show. Not just the captain.

Getting badly injured by Shredder ramped Leo’s mom protective instinct and self sacrifice to a solid 13. Going through the kind of pain your siblings could’ve went through does things to a sibling. Unfortunately for him, getting hurt so bad ramped up his siblings’ protective antics and now he has to deal with his own antics happening to him.

Donatello could build super villain weaponry but stopped when Mikey kept referring to his rocket launcher as the turtle-gun.

Donnie will definitely develop resentment to splinter later in life. Not because he hates Splinter but because Donatello is one of the more observant and intelligent turtles. When he gets more mature he’s going to realize that things were messed up far more than they ever needed to be.

Raph had a little mob of birds, rats, and cats follow him around in the city for food and pets.

Raph paints as one of his anger management techniques but had to stop when Mikey kept taking his paints.

If he had more confidence in himself Raph would make a decent leader

Leo’s strong moral code is what gave him the ability to kill shredder, earlier in the series he’s very against killing henchmen. Completely shutting it down. But after Shredder had betrayed Splinter, killed his mom, separated his sister from them and abused her, killed Splinter, almost killed his bros and himself multiple times and tried to destroy his home over and over again. Leo finally killed him. He made that choice after all he went through because he had to or it would never end. Of course the other kills aren’t as relevant but shredders kill is so important to the story and the characters. imo of course

Many people actually DON'T dislike the 2003 Astro Boy dub

SHOCKING, I KNOW.

But seriously, from what I've seen 99% of fans love the dub just as much as they love the sub, including myself, with many of us growing up with the dub version and growing a strong attachment to it especially due to it being nostalgic for many of us. I hardly ever see many complaints about it, even on the very rare videos that compare the sub and dub 99% of it is just talking about the scene and Astro and only 1% at most complaining about it for their own reasons.

Because es it does have it's issues like cutting out scenes, mostly regarding Tobio's past, but that's no one's fault as although censorship wasn't as aggressive in the 2000's as it is now they still weren't comfortable displaying much of Tobio's past which, like it or not, is pretty valid as I don't think many of us kids wanted to see a 9 year old child get hit by a car head on and die instantly with none of it being off screen. The rest of the issues though are kind of just- eh? Like they are a problem but it's not too prominent except some line changes here and there and sometimes the dub voice lines not matching up with the expressions but nothing that really badly affects it as the points still get across all the same. AND SPEAKING OF THE VOICES, OH BOY GET READY FOR THIS

Yeah there is nothing bad about either, most fans don't really care and those who do most likely jumped on a band wagon. The only difference is that Astro's voice is a tad bit rougher in the dub but people need to realize EVERY SINGLE VOICE DUB MC CHILD CHARACTER *HAD THAT VOICE* BACK THEN, ASTRO FROM ASTRO BOY SOUNDS A BIT LIKE HOW ASH FROM POKEMON SOUNDED IN THE EARLY DAYS OF POKEMON AS WELL WITH ASH'S VOICE BEING A LOT MORE ROUGHER THAN ASTRO'S. Actually they felt so similar to the point I actually had to look up the voice actor upon rewatching it because I thought they were both voiced by the same person. It was just a 2000's dubbing thing back then that always led them to have that kind of voice, I don't know why they went with that but the shows were successful and I loved them so I guess it worked either way. The point is, almost no one here gets their pants in a twist about it and you shouldn't either, because, fun fact, IT DOESN'T *MATTER*, you wanna know why? Because it's still ASTRO. The changes never affected his character and I know that because upon growing up with the dub he was still the same innocent, lovable, caring robot we all know and I saw him as such the same way people saw him as in the sub. Because despite it's minor flaws it was still Astro with every action, words, and lessons that he took, spoke, and learned. SO WATCH WHAT YOU WANNA WATCH AND LIKE WHAT YOU WANNA LIKE, THE DUB IS GREAT AND SO IS THE SUB, EITHER WAY HE IS STILL ASTRO ALL THE SAME AND IT DOESN'T AFFECT HIS CHARCTER AT ALL. To leave you on an important lesson, don't jump on a bandwagon when introducing yourself to new shows that involve sub and dub and instead watch one and take a look at the other and form your own opinions on them, we are all chill and welcoming so there is no ripping eachother's faces off about it here, trust me this is not the My Hero Academia fandom, you are safe.

Summary: Dustin Henderson’s older sister finds herself in a predicament having to choose between Steve “the Hair” Harrington and Eddie “the Freak” Munson

a/n: Hi! This is the first fic I’ve ever written so let me know what I can improve on. This is just the first part and I’ve already written more, just didnt want to release it all at once :) Hope you guys like it!

Warnings: mainly just swearing, that's about it.

“Seriously (Y/N), youre bailing on us?” Robin whined.

“C’mon this is a big chance for me! Besides, I havent bailed on movie nights as much as Harrington has!” You argued back knowing tonight was gonna be big for you. 

A local band was holding auditions for a lead singer and you knew this was your opportunity to show off your skills. The only problem was that the date and time of said auditions happened to fall on your weekly movie night with Steve and Robin. You felt bad, truly you did, but it was the first time you’ve ever missed a movie night.

“Hey! At least my excuses to miss movie nights are valid!” Steve argued back.

“My excuse is valid too! Also, may I remind both of you” you paused, shooting them both desperate glances “that this is the first time I have ever missed movie night. Besides, we’re watching Ghostbusters! Do you understand how many times my brother has forced me to watch that movie with him?” 

“Oh come on, little Henderson has great taste and you know that (Y/N)! It’s a good movie!” Steve began to argue trying to defend your younger brother.

You could never win an argument with Steve, especially if you mentioned Dustins name. He was your brothers favorite person, which made you slightly jealous because that spot used to be yours up until 2 year ago when Steve became his idol. 

“Please guys. I’m begging you!” You whined. “If this audition goes well, this could mean big things for me! This could be my big break!” 

“So… youre telling me that you think your “big break” is gonna come from being the lead singer of a band in a small town like Hawkins?” Robin question you raising an eyebrow. You knew she was skeptical because she just wanted the best for you, but it also didnt help that she knew if you were’nt coming to movie night, neither was Steve. 

She knew something you didnt about Steve and it was the fact that he had a massive crush on you, he has since you worked at the comic book store across from Scoops Ahoy before the mall burnt done. You would come in during your 15 and order a scoop of cherry icecream and sit in the booth closest to the entrance to make sure you could dart across the mall to get back into the shop on time. Gradually, you started to come in more because you started to make friends with Robin, though she hated to admit it, she was a nerd who loved comic books, so you would both always see eachother at work, which slowly turned into becoming best friends with eachother. The more you came in to bug Robin and buy ice cream, the more you and Steve saw of eachother and because of this you and Steve became friends. This also caused him to develop a crush on you.

“We all have to start somewhere and this, this is could be my start!” You were desperate for forgiveness from the two of them and you weren’t going to let this go until they said they would be fine with it. “Please. Ill make it up to you! Double feature next Friday?” You offered up the deal hoping they would take it, you also knew Robin could’nt resist a double feature. 

“Hmmm… okay fine!” Robin said enthusiastically “I get to pick the double feature though!” 

You were so excited that at least Robin was okay with letting go of tonight movie night if it meant getting full control of what movie and it being a double feature next week.

“Yes! Thank you, thank you, thank you!” You squealed hugging Robin over the counter excitedly.

“Hey hey hey! I did not agree to this” Steve crossed his arms “First of all, you know how I feel about double features. Second of all, Robin has horrible taste in movies” he motioned to Robin frustratedly.

“She does not! I have absolute faith that she’ll pick a great movie” You said jumping to her defense “Also, I’ll add one more thing to my deal. Okay, Steve?” You glared at him.

“Fine, what is it?” He asked sounding slightly irritated.

“Ill bring you guys lunch tomorrow AND Ill bring dinner for next weeks movie night.” You raised your eyebrows hoping he would take your offer

“And how do you plan on bringing us lunch tomorrow? You work the same time we do.” Steve raised his point hoping you’ll just back down and come to movie night.

“Did you forget my job is right next to the best burger place in town?” You let out a small laugh with confidence knowing this would work. They both can never so no to food, especially if it’s free.

You worked a couple blocks down from the Family Video at a tiny record store, that just happened to be connected to the diner where you, Robin, and Steve would occasionally hang out at after school and before your shifts at your respective jobs. Though Steve was out of school, you and Robin were in the 2nd month of your senior year. You would have been out of school by now if not for your mother deciding to make you go through kindergarten again because you were struggling with comprehension. Robin was the only one who knew, she was your best friend after all, but she really appreciated that she would have a friend with her throughout senior year. 

“Fine, I guess.” Steve said narrowing his eyes at you with a smile. 

You pulled him into a tight hug. “You guys wont regret it! I promise!” You let go, jumping up and down, something that both you and youre brother seemed to do when excited. “Okay okay okay, I have to go now because my break is over in like 5 minutes and I cant have my boss getting mad at me again.” You gave them each a quick hug before running out the store and getting into your car to head back to work.

It was a couple hours later, your shift just ended and you had about an hour to go home and get ready for your audition. You had no idea what to wear especially because you didn’t want to look overdressed or underdressed. After about 10 minutes of contemplation you decided to keep on your jeans and boots and just switch out your work uniform top for a black satin tank top. You figured it was good enough, but you wanted to accesorize a little. You threw on a couple rings and a necklace your mom and brother got you last christmas. You brushed out your hair and refreshed your makeup leaving you without about half an hour before you needed to leave your house.You wandered out to the living room so you could chill for a bit and calm your nerves before needing to go. You didnt think you were gonna do bad, you were confident in your skills. Mainly you were nervous because you had no idea who was in this band. You just saw the sign for auditions and decided to go for ti. Probably not the best idea, but you were willing to take that risk. 

Before you knew it, it was time to go. You grabbed your jacket and keys and headed out. The location of the auditions was weird. It was at somebodys house which already made you slightly skeptical, but you knew how to protect yourself after everything that’s happened these last few years. You parked at the end of the driveway and as you walked up you were shocked to see that there were only 3 people auditioning and you were the only girl. 

‘Shit’ you thought to yourself starting to regret your decision. You even thought about turning around and just driving to Robins house and enduring through Ghostbusters. You were getting in your head as you started getting closer to the garage the auditions were being held in, but a voice drew you out of your head.

“My my my, do my eyes deceive me or is that (Y/N) Henderson?”

Hazbin Hotel 7-8 (Spoil McNoil)

Hazbin Hotel is indeed not an action show.

But at least they tried to have some action.

Should they have tried tho?

(I'm gonna start out ripping, but, I don't hate this show, it's actually pretty funny that does some things super well but then just bumble fucks other big moments)

I mean, here's the thing, they're great at street fights, apparently. Vaggie vs Lute was pretty brutal, I felt like I was watching two bird tear eachother apart. Like a scene out of Gardians of Ga'Hoole.

But the ninja anime fantasy, martial arts type stuff was pretty weak, and didn't really track as something the characters would utilize. Like, Alastor is a cannibalistic voodoo serial killer from 1930's New Orleans. And twice before we've seen Alastor grow and contort to intimidate, kill, etc. But he doesn't do any of that against Adam except for that one aesthetic moment. Instead it's got generic "Tentril powers, GO!" vibes. Husker and Charlie also have this problem. Why is an American Gambler using cards like ninja stars? He can fly dude-- or, can he?

And Charlie- like, she has a sheild, but she can only really use it to protect herself :/ Like, girl, just go inside.

Lucy beating the shit out of Adam was cut so short, Like, 2 secs and 4 punches b4 Charlie goes "DAD STOP ITS TOO MUCH"-- no, let Lucy COOK; I think it would have actually been an interesting point to make on how the reason Lucifer gives for discouraging the Hotel is sinner's being "The Worst", yet here he is clearly having a fit of violence (an understandable one but, Charlie, who's never even been to heaven except for a bs court hearing, has to remind a high-ranking angel to have mercy.) Charlie, razz and Dazz transforming didn't really do anything-- it actually felt more like a game of thrones reference, which would be fine if Razz or Dazz DID anything except die. They also didn't explain Carmilla's motive for helping them well. Like, neat entrance, but the build ups to the pay offs didn't exist :,O

And the voice acting: These guys are great singers, but the noises they make when they get hit, their mid-battle dialogue, is so corny and tonally off for certain characters. Like, Alastor and Charlie's yells in particular are- pardon my accent but cringe af.

Charlie in particular has so many anti-climatic moments. If they meant for her to not be particularly good at fighting, maybe establish that and not have all these super dramatic badass magical girl moments that just lead to her getting dunked on. It was so anticlimactic jeezuz christ.

And really it's more about picking a tone, the anti climactic moments could have been funny if they framed it as a funny moment or a joke, but it's framed seriously so it's read seriously.

But, who doesn't bumble fuck around how to end something though. I've read some juicy, golden touch stories that really freaked out on the gas and steering at the end. So, this isn't anything uncommon, especially for relatively new creators.

They have flaws, who doesn't. I loved so much about this show even when my first impression going in was just cringing at it not being what I expected. This is a critique of love, guys, I genuine wish the best for this show, bc it's apparent that when Viv has the freedom and breathing room she needs to plan and pace, she can cook up a good ass goddamned meal (See: Helluva Boss, Season one). This was them crunching and smushing a ton of story and moments into too-few episodes, which, looking back could have been done better, but its easy to see how something can be better once it's done and out in the world. (See: literally any amature artist 2 seconds after posting their work)

The season finale ended with so many good set ups tho! :D

Lilith vacaying in heaven, having made a deal with Adam.

Alastor becoming desperate for a way out, having made deals with Vaggie and Charlie-- And far more explicitly there against his will. Also--is a future antagonist?

Yes PLEASE. I love that they showed Al loosing his shit through his eyes even with the smile he's always wearing. And they built this up before hand having him talk previously about wearing a smile, basically as a mask.

YOU REDEEMED FU-

(I was actually cringing at Pentious the entire time inep 8, I'm sorry but he's so hard to take seriously-- even his "death" was funny as hell. I love him but its like how someone loves a clumsy puppy that destroys your house without neither malice nor remorse)

Also: The exorcists switching leaders- I am wondering how things are gonna change with them, especially given how much more sadistic and violent Lute is. Like, Adam just liked laughing at sinners. He saw them as insults to his existance, his mini-me hates and seems like she just enjoys violence and malice, using ego and "they deserve it" narratives as an excuse to indulge in acts that ordinarily would lan someone in hell.

Overall-- Not the best season finale I've ever seen, execution-wise through these 8 episodes (like, Vaggie got her wings learning to fight for love, but she's been doing nothing but supporting and protecting Charlie this whole time. There was no hint that she was bitter or wanted revenge). They definitely needed to pace and build things better but there's so much to love. Like, Seeing Alastor in his element with Rosie and Nifty was so fun, even if they were small moments (his laugh is so stiff tho, c'mon Al.)

The finale did a good job setting up the future, but I don't have much more to say than that. Hopefully, now that they know they're getting a second season, they'll just, breathe on this one a bit more ya?

I'm glad I watched it, I cried, I laughed, I cringed, I yelled at Pentious for subjecting me to second hand embarrassment. It's great :,D

Also- I hope he doesn't read this and takes it the wrong way, but Vox reminds me of my brother-- Especially with the scenes where he's watching the battle :,D

let's talk about the fact that most mushroom stans use the romeo and juliet references to deny byler.

as we all know, mitochondria has had plenty of romeo and juliet references made towards them, but what i find particularily interesting is that nobody is really taking the time to actually read romeo and juliet.

now, microwave is actually so similar to romeo and juliet's relationship, but thats not a good thing. in fact, it's actually a really bad thing, at least for them.

for one, people seem to forget the fact that romeo was rejected and juliet was pretty much a rebound. this makes plenty of sense in relation to malignant tumor because mike found eI right after he lost will, which parallels directly to romeo losing rosaline (due to rejection) and getting with juliet instead.

my second point, romeo did not love juliet, not really. now we do know that mike cares about eI, however, i strongly believe that it is platonic love. romeo was with juliet because he wanted to be loved. this is pretty much the same exact situation that mike is in. mike wants so badly to be needed, and this was made canon in season 4. in the van scene, mike went on and on about how he wanted eI to need him, and how he was scared she didn't need him anymore. to me, this confirms that he's pretty much only with her because he craves being needed. just like romeo loved the idea of being with juliet, mike loves the idea of being with eI. he likes being needed, especially by someone as cool as eI. he goes on and on about her powers, comparing her to superman, talking about how he's lucky someone that cool landed on his doorstep. he likes the idea of her and that is SO clear.

finally, romeo and juliet are arguably the most popular example of a doomed relationship. now many membrane shippers think that this means that mike and eI are going to romantically die in eachothers arms or something but given the fact that the duffers essentially confirmed that they won't kill mike off i seriously doubt it. i truly believe that they are just a doomed relationship. they weren't meant to last, this is literally canon since eI was supposed to die in season one. they are simply just not meant to be.

now many people are gonna think that this analysis is looking way too far into it but come on. the duffers love parallels and references. if you truly believe that these two writers who came up with the concept of the most popular netflix show ever didn't read and analyze romeo and juliet, one of the most popular pieces of literature ever and has been referenced on this show a multitude of times, then you are really naive. they know romeo and juliet, trust me. they are being referenced for a reason, and it isnt a good one.

that being said, i hope i gave bylers some piece of mind because god do we need a break from michigan stans calling us delusional and constantly trying to disprove our evidence.

unlike most people that enjoy star trek i didnt really get into it till 2018 and then the demmy hit n i had nothing but time to consume every star trek imaginable and thats how i found voyager. yeah sure make fun of me for not knowing what star trek is but i need YALL to know that it is white and usamerican culture to be raised on trek and I DONT CARE. the only reason i got into star trek is bc a white friend introduced me. all this to say i was introduced to janeways actress through oitnb red ilu so much red best evil white lady <3

anyways i know janeway gets hate for having been the only lady captain and i always preface anything i say about her with this so yall understand that this is not the reason i dislike her but in reality it doesnt help either

if youve followed me since i started voyagerposting you may have noticed ive only actually drawn janeway twice and its cuz as a person she rubs me the wrong way for so many reasons

janeway gets put in this impossible position of being the top of the hierarchy pyramid to a crew that doesnt think theyll ever make it home again. shes deemed a mother figure by a LOT of characters but im gonna talk abt her dynamics with b’elanna, and seven because if i were to talk about the dynamics between janeway and harry thatd have to be its own post

when i get into a show, i loooveeee knowing what was happening behind the scenes because i love it!! i love set design i love character design i love costume design i love seeing what the actors are like outside of the show and how they feel about these characters bc these things ARE important. (writers too pero i have beef) behind the scenes is the biggest influence to the final product bc its the reason the final product exists in the first place and behind the scenes so many things went wrong. and when actors are mistreated or dont get along with eachother it becomes pretty apparent. well at least if you analyze things the way i do

so heres my issue with janeway seven and b’elanna. b’elanna is typecast to be the ugly character. klingons gave always gotten the short end of the stick and the case with her isnt as harsh bc her actress is a mixed puerto rican (information that has actually only recently been revealed bc when i tried to find out what roxan’s ethnicity was in 2019 i literally could not find anything definitive except for shes latina) but she STILL gets a lot of shit

one of my favorite things about voyager before the introduction of seven was how b’elanna and janeway actually got to bond a lot over science and when seven took on the roll of pretty girl on the ship, b’elanna and janeway suffered a LOT for it. we have an interesting dynamic between a maquis engineer and a federation captain genuinely not getting along bc b’elanna doesnt see janeways as an authority figure. not until chakotay has something to say about it and also until b’elanna and janeway actually talk about shit n get over their differences. the issue is when ppl purposely skip the earlier seasons to get to seven and then a lot of important interpersonal character building is missed I SAY THIS BC PEOPLE OFTEN FORGET THAT VOYAGER HAS BEEN ASSIMILATED BY THE BORG BEFORE AND EVEN THE WRITERS LET IT SLIP THEUR MIND N ITS LIKE BRO U HAVE GOLD TO WRITE WITH N U JUST LET IT COLLECT IN THE CORNER

seven is a unique and interesting character when she is first introduced. seven looks like any other borg and is so COOL. and then immediately all the cool interesting things about the way seven looks is basically negated to a few shiny parts. and yes janeway is partly to blame

BUT! what is the easiest way to gain the trust of people who already have bad history with who you once were? assimilation of course! seven goes from being one of many to the outcasts outcast

but punkbxt! what does any of this have to do with why you dislike janeway as a character? if anything it sounds more like you dislike seven. as long as the character is white ill always hold a lil disdain for them in my heart <3

janeway symbolizes the best of starfleet. she is an accredited officer and an extremely capable scientist. she is a beautiful white woman in THE position of power something that was revolutionary for her time. the issues with white women being put in positions of power is they they have NEVER had the interests of black and brown people to heart. “yes they-“ SHUT UP and let me speak before you decide to comment on this goddamn post

feminism throughout the centuries has focused on white women and while a show is merely a fraction of the lived reality of its time the effects are still extremely clear. white feminism JUMPED at the character of janeway and celebrated her and rightfully so! the issues came about when women like b’elanna got attacked and pushed to the side. this directly affected janeway within fandom and she got and still is recognized for accomplishments SHE DID NOT DO. she got put on a pedestal and once that happens to a character they suddenly can do no wrong. except she does because shes a human and shes white and shes a character with writers behind her

b’elanna has never actually been a super popular character and the wave of love for her is actually pretty fucking recent and not to toot my own horn but i definitely was a big part of the b’elanna love resurgence. when i got into voyager and these dates ARE important, i used to scroll through her entire tag easily a couple times through a DAY. fans occasionally created art for her and yeah! she got fics but nowhere in comparison to her other peers. surrounding yourself with people who also love her and want to create for her does help with recognition of b’elanna but its super recent stuff. and to add onto that any white fan that has an opinion about her will always be biased because they just do not understand what it is like to exist as a latina woman of color

this is where me myself and i come into the story because wowowowowow star trek is so cool! star trek preaches on and on and on about diversity love acceptance hate oppression and all that good stuff so who wouldnt love it??? and then??? OMG THERES A LATINA CHARACTER IN ONE SERIES OMG OMG OMG. imagine my disappointment when i found out that she a main character barely was getting any love. it hurt. because even within a narrative of inclusion somehow characters of color just seem to always be pushed to the side. especially when a fandom has such a majority percentage of white people

watching her story was SO personal to me. i could see myself in her struggling with living in america. i lived my childhoods in puerto rico and in many different parts of usamerica, surrounded by family and people like me until that wasnt the case anymore. i spent my life living as a nomad with no place to call home for on average no less than a year and no more than three. i could understand b’elanna with her struggles of living in a klingon monastery and then being thrust into an unforgiving and unaccepting world where humans/white people are the most important. the internalized racism that i grew up with was horrendous and to this DAY i am still trying to learn and better myself and connect with my culture in any way i can. because in a black ans white world, where is the space for those of us that dont fall under either? we are ignored and erased and with b’elanna is has been the same

the rejection b’elanna had to her klingon side was something i could relate to incredibly. but it still isnt enough. because even though i could connect with her through her klingon-ness, her latinidad is simply a label. throughout the show you see her change and grow and assimilate to the federation standard and it HURT. the narrative that i was directly picking up from her story was yeah you can be a part of the club but only if you do it how we want you to do it. and dont you EVER even talk about being latino unless its to shit on your deadbeat of a father. and i did. i learned how to adapt at an extremely young age. ive been told its one of the things i do best (sad isnt it?)

and okay how do seven and janeway have anything to do with this? well they are the white women who we literally have to conform to and for. thats it period

seven as a character had an amazing opportunity to challenge gender and sexuality because of her story (one that would have been better suited had she been an indigenous woman which ive spoken on before but thats for another post too) and then the people in charge decided that she just HAD to be the sexywoman instead of leaning into just how much she was no longer human and how humanity itself doesnt actually have one right way to be

this narrative is given to us by janeway time and time and time again correcting seven and telling her that seven simply is not himan enough and still has to learn. (things autistic ppl can suuuuuper relate to which is a reason i could connect with seven at all). no matter how you want to look at it (whatever canon you want to decide isnt canon anymore for the sake of a fucking ship) janeway was directly written to be a mentor and mother figure to seven. janeway is there to help her learn when in reality she can never understand what its like to be an outcast within the federation and to take it a step further be part of a eace which is treated with hostility by humans. something b’elanna CAN understand and relate to because at the time of voyager shits still om the rocks between klingons and humans. janeway pushes seven to accept and embrace humanity as if thats the only option seven has to become a better character but its just not true. the story woven between janeway and seven is one of white women and femininity and how to be the perfect white woman and how to be a good lover. by actively ignoring the help and influence b’elanna could have provided for seven to learn and adapt to a majority human world they put all that weight on janeway. something that affects ALL three of them negatively and results in a narrative of “well b’elanna could never understand and relate to seven in a way that matters” which is beyond true because they are so interwoven even unintentionally so. it simply just wasnt taken further and its a true shame

and this isnt even touching on how badly seven’s actress was treated by janeways actress for being the pretty new doll at the time of filming and how that affected how i felt about janeway/seven as a ship (similarly how castle and beckett did not get along behind scenes i could no longer enjoy that show anymore)

i simplified this IMMENSELY and this shit is already long enough as it is so im sorry about that but yeah thats it. also sorry if things got repetitive ive been told i tend to do that when i write. these are my feelings and i am a real human behind this account so keep in mind how you react to this post. i have recieved countless hate anons most of which ive deleted throughout my short lived time as a fan of this franchise. i used to be MUCH more vocal about representation within star trek and people got mad so i left. but im back because the people that love b’elanna and that love that i have things to say about her matter so much fucking more than any angry person ever will
