AFTG FANFIC WIP: The Foundations of Decay

Okay so I see your Andreil getting Sir and King and I offer a Sethvin addition:

Andrew and Neil got their cats first

Sir was found behind a dumpster, and King somehow managed to get into the teams’ court

The process of choosing a name was full of Fox antics and silly suggestions

But they finally settled on Sir Fat Cat McCatterson and King Fluffikens, much to Seth’s dismay

He wanted them to pick one of his suggestions (to this day he still stands by his suggestion of Axemouth)

But they didn’t, and in a brilliant moment of spite, Seth turns to Kevin and says “we’re getting a pet.”

Kevin, mind you, is used to Seth’s general bullshittery, so he just nods along, thinking Seth will forget about it

He doesn’t

Because less than a week later, when Kevin walks into their shared house, the world’s rattiest dog runs up to him barking it’s head off

Seth follows shortly after, huffing in amusement at the look on Kevin’s face

“Kevin, meet Taxidermy Steve” “Wh—“ “I found him on the street and he tried to bite my ankle off” “why—“ “he’s mine now”

Andrew glares at Seth for about an hour for trying to one up him

About a month later, while the two of them are on a walk, Seth takes off sprinting

He returns with a runaway rabbit, holding her out and proudly proclaiming that her name is Hamster Two

“Because I always wanted to have a hamster named hamster” he says, holding said rabbit close to his chest

“Seth, that’s a rabbit.” “Yeah, and what are you gonna do about it?”

Hamster and Steve get along well and are practically inseparable

It escalates from then on, one of the more notable occasions being when Kevin gets a text asking for help moving a fishtank because apparently there’s now a fish in their bathtub

Said fish is actually a goldfish named Piranha Monstermouth the Second

Whenever someone asks about her name, Seth elaborates with a cryptic “there is no Piranha Monstermouth the First. Only the Second.”

For Seth’s birthday, Kevin takes him to a pet store, and they come back with two hamsters, one named Molly May Cleavertooth and the other named Nuclear Missile

“Molly like the drug!” He crows, watching her tiny body curl protectively around an apple slice

“Why’s the other one named Nuclear Missile?” Kevin asks, already secretly in love with the pale-coloured hamster.

“Because she’s going to grow up to be a badass.”

Andrew has never felt more outdone in his life

And by a scrappy dog, a rabbit who acts like a dog, a massive goldfish, and two hamsters at that

They agree that that’s their animal limit for now, because Kevin’s never owned pets before, and Seth seems happy with the current amount

He’s always loved animals, and getting to have some as pets is one of the best things he’s ever experienced

This man may be an asshole but he loves the shit out of his pets, and they love him too

But around five months later, there’s a scratching at one of their balcony doors

Seth pushes them open to see a scrappy little black cat who immediately barrels towards Kevin, trying to climb up his leg

Kevin is in love with him instantly, picking him up and holding him close

And looking each other in the eyes, they know that they’re keeping him.

“You can name him,” Seth offers, wanting to see what Kevin can come up with

And without even blinking, Kevin deadpans, “his name is Soulcatcher of the Void and he’s the colour of your soul”

They both burst out laughing, and Void is the newest addition to the Gordon-Day household, which is almost completely composed of animals

The Foxes love every single one of them (even Andrew, who’s still cranky about being outdone by Seth and Day of all people)

And one day, when Taxidermy Steve comes home pregnant (who knew he was actually a she), Seth keeps one of the puppies, and names her Axemouth because fuck you Andrew, it’s a badass name

I’ve never really considered myself a writer. I like to do it, but I don’t think I’m the next Big One. Some days I’m really down because in any fandom I’m in I don’t have a lot of traction (hello rare pairs - and one shots). I don’t weave 100k adventures, I don’t write beautiful poetry... but recently I’ve been getting the kudos email almost daily - and some days I get one like this

god okay fuck it aftg mamma mia esque au. kevin day is soon to be married and all he wants is his father to be at his wedding but its been years and he still doesnt know who it is. he finds a journal his mother wrote the summer she got pregnant and deduces that his father is most probably a man named david wymack who for some reason left his mother behind. so kevin invited him to his wedding bc idk you only get married at 20 once or something. but also he Doesnt tell seth (his fiancee yes im making this sethvin) so mmm maybe therell be some trouble.

since its his wedding kevin needs a best man whos none other than andrew fucking minyard who for some reason has been living in the island for quite some time even though he didnt plan on staying when he first ventured in there. andrew invites his brother and cousin at kevins request bc "its been a while since we all hung out!!"

of course seth needs his main men as well so he sends out invites to a mister matt boyd and a mister neil josten, both going to kalokairi for the first time !

dan comes with matt to the wedding partially to see kevin and partially to see renee and allison who already live in kalokairi in a constant wlw summer dream

so basically if you dont get where im going with this. kevin wants to reconnect with this man who may be his father so he invites him to his wedding but he doesnt tell his mother nor his soon to be husband about it. also at some point neil and andrew meet and romance happens ta da the end
