PART I: ADULT EDITION

Let’s get real--we’re all going fucking insane.

Therefore, I’m recommending some books with which you can kill time. I’m breaking them into categories--the romance category including several subgenres but by and large covering books that focus more heavily on the romance than anything else. These will all be adult books; I’m doing a separate page for YA recommendations.

I’ll be adding to this list as I finish books that I feel belong here.

ROMANCE

A Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Deveraux. A young woman is abandoned by her scoundrel of a boyfriend, only to find a literal medieval knight in shining armor. Pure 80′s cheese, a classic in the time travel subgenre long before Outlander ever happened.

The Circle Trilogy by Nora Roberts. Six sexy people, three men and three women in Roberts fashion, travel across time and parallel dimensions to fight an evil vampire and her undead army. Come for three fun romances, stay in particular for the “virgin bookworm queen captures the heart of the formerly evil 1,000 Irish vampire” ship.

The Hating Game by Sally Thorne. Rival coworkers who’ve always hated each other compete for the same job--until maybe? They start? Hooking up?

From Lukov with Love by Mariana Zapata. A down on her luck singles figure skater pairs up with the pairs champion she’s always despised... Unless they in fact, in a STUNNING TWIST, do not hate each other?

Pestilence by Laura Thalassa. A BIT ON THE NOSE RIGHT NOW, but I promise that this tale of a hot virgin Horseman of the Apocalypse spreading his plague and the one woman brave enough to fuck him is WORTH IT. As is the sequel, War.

My Lady’s Choosing by Kitty Curran. A literal choose your own adventure novel, but the adventures bodice ripping Regency romance plots!!!

The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang. A sweet and smart woman on the autism spectrum hires a male escort to teach her to be good at sex. Shit goes DOWN from there.

The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary. She works days; he works nights. She needs a cheap place to stay, and he needs a roommate. So they share a flat and even a bed (sleeping on opposite sides and never at the same time) only communicating through post-it notes throughout the apartment. What could go wrong?

Marriage for One by Ella Maise. She can only get her inheritance if she’s married. Good thing a glacial attorney has offered to marry her out of nowhere, only for paper purposes. What could go wrong???

The Worst Best Man by Mia Sosa. Lina is a wedding planner who was left at the altar. Max is the younger brother of the man who left her, and apparently convinced him to do the leaving. What happens when they work together?

Get A Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert. Chloe suffers from a chronic illness, which means that she’s never had a life--and so she compiles a list that will help her get one. On the list? Meaningless sex. Which she won’t have with her building’s superintendent, even though he’s really down to help her cross off all the other items, riiiight?

HISTORICAL FICTION

Passion by Jude Morgan. The dramatic and intense height of Romantic England, told from the perspectives of Caroline Lamb, mistress of Lord Byron; August Leigh, his sister and lover; Mary Shelley; and Fanny Brawne, fiancee of John Keats.

Girl with a Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier. Impoverished Griet becomes a maid in the household of the painter Vermeer, becoming his muse after he realizes that she has a natural eye--much to the dismay of his wife.

Snow Flower and The Secret Fan by Lisa See. In nineteenth century China, best friends Lily and Snow Flower follow each other through emotional and cultural revolutions, communicating through the secret language of fans.

The Memoirs of Cleopatra by Margaret George. Cleopatra recounts her life story, from her earliest memory, through her affairs with Caesar and Antony, and her end.

Mistress of Rome by Kate Quinn. In Domitian’s Rome, a Jewish girl rises from the position of lady’s slave to the emperor’s mistress through wiles and scheming.

The Tiger Queens by Stephanie Thornton. The rise and fall of Genghis Khan’s empire, as told through the women of his family--from his favorite wife to a clever daughter-in-law.

At the Water’s Edge by Sara Gruen. A socialite follows her incompetent to Scotland as he struggles to find the Loch Ness Monster and redeem his ancestor’s name--finding herself and questioning her life in the process.

A Year of Ravens. A collection of short stories by different authors, all centering on Boudica’s rebellion through the eyes of her countrymen and her enemies.

Feast of Sorrow by Crystal King. A slave becomes a chef in the treacherous household of a social climber struggling to gain the favor or Caesar August.

Fatal Throne. Six authors tell the stories of Henry VIII’s wives, all from their differing perspectives.

Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid. The rise and fall of a 1970s rock band is charted through the recollections of its members--as they recall what drove them apart, and in particular the intense relationship between the leader singers.

THRILLERS

The Girl in 6E by A.R. Torre. A woman with murderous impulses locks herself in her apartment to keep the public safe, making a living as a camgirl. She’s left torn between morals and impulse when she begins to suspect that one of her “fans” is dangerous.

Little Deaths by Emma Flint. In 1960s America, a single mother finds her personal life and image called into question when she’s accused of murdering her two young children.

My Sister, The Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite. A nurse covers up her beautiful sister’s murders, only to be caught between loyalties when the doctor she loves falls for said sister.

The Last Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine. A plain “nobody” transforms herself in order to steal a high society housewife’s husband, only to deal with more than she bargained for.

The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen. A woman obsesses over her ex-husband’s new fiancee, leading her to disturbing lengths.

The Other Woman by Sandie Jones. After meeting her ideal man, a woman must contend with his possessive mother, who will do anything to maintain her hold over him.

Something in the Water by Catherine Steadman. A couple on their dream honeymoon find something in the water that will change the course of their life together.

The Au Pair by Emma Rous. The day Seraphine and her twin brother were born, their mother flung herself off a cliff and their nanny disappeared. Decades later, Seraphine discovers a photo taken of her parents just before her mother’s death--with only one baby. The only person who holds the key to the mystery? The au pair.

My Lovely Wife by Samantha Downing. A couple keeps the spark alive through murder.

Lock Every Door by Riley Sager. A young woman takes a job apartment-sitting in a high-end Manhattan building. Shortly after she befriends another sitter, the girl goes missing--with everyone else acting like nothing is amiss.

The Wives by Tarryn Fisher. Thursday is one of her husband’s three wives, though she’s never met the other two. When she finally does meet the third wife, she discovers a woman far different from what she expected--and covered in bruises.

FANTASY/SUPERNATURAL/HORROR

Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marillier. Sorcha is the youngest of seven children in medieval Ireland. When her stepmother curses her six older brothers to live as swans, Sorcha agrees to weave them shirts of painful thistles, all the while remaining silent, to break the spell.

Black Pearls by Louise Hawes. A collection of dark fairy tale retellings.

The Incarnations by Susan Barker. A man receives letters from an anonymous source, detailing his supposed past lives throughout historical China.

Girls Made of Snow and Glass by Melissa Bashardoust. A dark Snow White retelling, with a stepmother whose goals extend far beyond the princess.

Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo. Alex Stern is discovered as the sole survivor of a brutal multiple murder, and is promptly scooped up by a group charged with monitoring the occult societies at Yale. Now disguised as a university student, Alex must figure out who’s been murdering locals, while also hiding what happened the night she lived.

The Silent Companions by Laura Purcell. A young widow in Victorian England is sent to her husband’s country estate to wait out her pregnancy, and is not alarmed to discover a “silent companion” (a painted wooden figure) in the house. But when the figure’s eyes begin following her, she is sucked into a history beyond her imagination.

Circe by Madeline Miller. The story of the woman who would seduce Odysseus, from her beginnings as a plain witch born of Helios and a mother who couldn’t care less. A classic rise to power story.

CONTEMPORARY LIT

Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows by Balli Kaur Jaswal. Down on her luck Nikki takes up a job as a creative writing class instructor for the Punjabi widows in her West London neighborhood. It turns out that the widows thought she was there to teach them to write in English--which leads to the class becoming a place for them to share their stories orally instead. And it turns out that they’re a bit... erotic.

An American Marriage by Tayari Jones. Upwardly mobile newlyweds Celestina and Roy have their lives upended when Roy is falsely accused of a terrible crime and sent to prison for twelve years. When he’s released early after five, he returns home to find that Celestina has changed completely, and their marriage is entirely unknown.

Stay With Me by Ayobami Adebayo. A young Nigerian couple has always been against polygamy; but after the wife fails to get pregnant, her in-laws show up on their doorstep with a second wife.

NON-FICTION/MEMOIR

Harem: The World Behind The Veil by Alev Lytle Croutier. An examination of the Ottoman Empire’s harem culture, focusing on the women within.

Love For Sale: A World History of Prostitution by Nils Johan Ringal. Not really a GLOBAL history of prostitution, but a good introduction starting with ancient times and going into the cases of more recent madams in America, with a strong case for legalization worldwide.

Georgiana: Duchess of Devonshire by Amanda Foreman. A readable biography of the famously scandalous and tragic duchess, to be read while you kill time rewatching “The Duchess” starring Keira Knightley.

Lucrezia Borgia: Life, Love, and Death in Renaissance Italy by Sarah Bradford. A fair but none-too-precious assessment of one of Renaissance Italy’s most controversial women, and an analysis of her relationships with her father and brother.

The Life and Death of Anne Boleyn by Eric Ives. While you’re quarantining, you might as well read the definitive Anne Boleyn biography, yes? This one is responsible for much of the modern attitude on Anne.

Queen of Fashion: What Marie Antoinette Wore to the Revolution by Caroline Weber. A fascinating analysis of Marie Antoinette’s political life through her clothes.

The Monster of Florence by Douglas Preston and Mario Spezi. An analysis of the infamous, unsolved “Monster of Florence” case. One of the most gruesome serial killers in Italy’s history, the monster’s crimes were pinned on several different men, and even investigated by the prosecutor who botched the Amanda Knox case.

The Forger’s Spell: A True Story of Vermeer, Nazis, and the Greatest Art Hoax of the Twentieth Century by Edward Dolnick. An examination of the case of Han van Meegeren, a painter who forged and sold many Dutch master fakes, and the pretentious art world that let him get away with it for years.

The Secret History of the Mongol Queens: How the Daughters of Genghis Khan Rescued His Empire by Jack Weatherford. A study of the women in Genghis Khan’s family, and in particular those that kept his empire from falling to ruin after his death. A good companion read with Stephanie Thornton’s fiction novel Tiger Queens mentioned above.

Chasing Aphrodite: The Hunt for Looted Antiquities at the World’s Richest Museum by Jason Felch and Ralph Frammolino. How did the Getty Museum end up with so many stolen artifacts? This book aims to find out.

The Creation of Anne Boleyn by Susan Bordo. A different kind of Anne Boleyn book, studying her portrayal in culture and fiction--complete with input from Natalie Dormer following her portrayal of Anne Boleyn on The Tudors.

Blood Sisters: The Women Behind the Wars of the Roses by Sarah Gristwood. An examination of the women of the houses of Lancaster and York during their famous, long-running conflict--and how these women had an impact on battles and politics alike.

The Dragon Behind the Glass: A True Story of Power, Obsession, and the World’s Most Coveted Fish by Emily Voigt. The author delves into why people are so obsessed with the arowana, a rare and exotic fish, to the point that they’ll commit murder--and becomes wrapped up in the fascination herself.

The Rules Do Not Apply by Ariel Levy. Over the course of a month, Ariel Levy watches everything she held true in her life--her financial security, her career, her marriage, and her pregnancy--fall apart. Levy must confront what it means to live an “unconventional” and “free” life, only for that to become meaningless, and pick up the pieces.

From Here to Eternity: Traveling the World to find The Good Death by Caitlin Doughty. Doughty recounts her global travels to observe and study different funerary and death rituals, recounting and analyzing her experiences with respect and personality.

Lady Killers: Deadly Women Throughout History by Tori Telfer. A collection of female serial killers, analyzing why they did what they did and the cultural legacy they left behind.

Severed: A History of Heads Lost and Heads Found by Frances Larson. A history of decapitated human heads, and what different cultures have done with them.

From Scratch: A Memoir of Love, Sicily, and Finding Home by Tembi Locke. Tembi Locke was never truly accepted by her husband’s Sicilian family, as a black American woman. But when Saro dies young of cancer, she finds herself more deeply entwined her in-laws, as she works to pick up the pieces. (Warning: one of the most achingly romantic books I’ve ever read; but it will destroy you.)

Chapter 4: Pressure point: John Watson (status to be clarified)

John is still in a bit of a shock when Sherlock finally gets out of his bedroom, fully clothed in his usual 'I'm on my way to a GQ bloody photo-shoot'.

After a quick look in the direction of the doctor, why does that man smile like a confused fool?, he says, "So – it’s just a guess but you’ve probably got some questions."

"Yeaaaah, one or two, pretty much."

"Naturally."

Janine walks out of the bathroom, into the bedroom and exchanges a smile with Sherlock.

"You have a girlfriend?" First thing first.

"Yes, I have." You have a wife why shouldn’t I have a girlfriend? John put a bigger smile on his face. Sherlock usually doesn't second guess his decisions, but he almost regrets asking the man to tag along. What was his name? John? I should really ask for his full name.

"Now, Magnussen. Magnussen is like a shark – it’s the only way I can describe him. Have you ever been to the shark tank at the London Aquarium, John (yes! got it right. It's John!) – stood up close to the glass? Those floating flat faces, those dead eyes ... That’s what he is. I’ve dealt with murderers, psychopaths, terrorists, serial killers. None of them can turn my stomach like Charles Augustus Magnussen."

"Yes, you have."

"Sorry, what?"

"You have a girlfriend?" John adds, still completely bemused.

"What? Yes! Yes, I’m going out with Janine. I thought that was fairly obvious."

"Yes, I am. Me and Janine." Sherlock replies, more and more irritated.

"Care to elaborate?" John continues, still too amazed to realize the change in his friend's composure.

"Why is it so curious? Who are you to comment on my private life?"

John pauses and looks at his friend. It's kind of true that with all the women that he dates before The Fall, then Mary... I am in no position to ask questions. Maybe Sherlock was shy and this is why he hadn't brought any women to the flat when I was there? But... "I'm married to my work" and "Not my area". And why Janine among every other woman OR man available?

"It's just that... Janine? I'm surprised that Mary didn't talk to me about this as she is her friend that's all."

Ooooh, he knows Janine, this is why he's so curious and probably anxious. He took me from a drug den only a few hours ago, it's surely not a good sign for the boyfriend of a friend. Sherlock took a deep breath before adding.

"Well, we’re in a good place. Don't worry, I know in your point of view, especially as a doctor, I'm not the perfect companion for her but I won't let anything bad happen to Janine. Trust me. And as for the relationship, it’s, um ... very affirming."

"You got that from a book... It's been what? A few weeks?"

"Yes, I met her in a coffee place near her office. She cleverly found that the cashier was stealing money from the customers, 50p at the time, and I decided on the spur of the moment, romantic gesture to ask her to sit with me for a tea and pastries. She said that I was rude, that we've met before, she was quite cross that I didn't recall anything, in fact, she even tried to show me pictures! But quickly put that behind her as one of my ‘funny yet troubling quirks’ as she said and stopped nagging about it. We've been together since."

The nerve of the man, he danced and talked with her at the wedding! But it's not his business, it's her call if she chooses to go out with the git anyway. John put a smile on his face as Janine comes back into the room ready to go to work.

"Okay, you two bad boys, behave yourselves," Janine says as she sits on Sherlock's lap. "And you, Sherl, you’re goin' to have to tell me where you were last night."

"Working."

"Working. Of course. I’m the only one who really knows what you’re like, remember?"

"Don’t you go letting on." the man softly replies in her ear before caressing her face.

"I might just, actually." the young woman replies before turning her face toward John. "I haven’t told Mary about this. I kind of wanted to surprise her."

"Yeah, you probably will."

"But we should have you two over for dinner really soon! My place, though – not the scuzz-dump!" then she punches her boyfriend on the shoulder with a laugh.

"Great, yeah! Dinner! Yeah." John was too dumbstruck to create a complete sentence!

She gets up and walks to the door, Sherlock follows. "Have a lovely day. Call me later."

Janine struck his jacket with a knowing glaze and tease "I might do. I might call you – unless I meet someone prettier..." and they kiss.

John turns away as quickly as possible, not knowing where to look. Oh, a window. Wonderful. And this is such a nice wallpaper, I should ask to Ms. Hudson where she found it maybe I can put the same in my office. Without the bullet holes.

After a softly muttered, "Solve me a crime, Sherlock Holmes." Janine leaves the flat.

Sherlock's demeanour changes immediately as soon as the door closes. The lover leaves to give room to the sharp detective.

"You know Magnussen as a newspaper owner, but he’s so much more than that. He uses his power and wealth to gain information. The more he acquires, the greater his wealth and power. I’m not exaggerating when I say that he knows the critical pressure point on every person of note or influence in the whole of the Western world and probably beyond. He is the Napoleon of blackmail ..."

He walks to his laptop to shows to John a photograph of Magnussen’s home as well as a blueprint of the building.

"... and he has created an unassailable architecture of forbidden knowledge. Its name is Appledore."

"Dinner."

"Sorry, what, dinner?"

"Me and Mary and you and Janine. Dinner ... with ... wine and ... sitting." John adds still unable to shake the amazement from his voice.

"Seriously? I’ve just told you that the Western world is run from this house ... and you want to talk about a dinner that will NEVER happen." What is HIS problem?

"Fine, talk about the house."

After an exasperated look, Sherlock continues. "It is the greatest repository of sensitive and dangerous information anywhere in the world the Alexandrian Library of secrets and scandals – and none of it is on a computer. He’s smart – computers can be hacked. It’s all on hard copy in vaults underneath that house; and as long as it is, the personal freedom of anyone you’ve ever met is a fantasy."

His speech is interrupted by Mrs. Hudson’s "Ooh-ooh! Oh, that was the doorbell. Couldn’t you hear it?"

"It’s in the fridge. It kept ringing."

"Oh, that’s not a fault, Sherlock!" That boy will never change, she thought fondly but at least now John is with him, the last month was not really good with Sherlock acting like the wedding never happened and that John wasn’t a part of his life anymore. I know I said that 'Wedding changes everything!' but I didn’t realize that much. So sad, they would have been a nice couple.

"Who is it?"

Mrs. Hudson's daydreaming stops and she goes downstairs to open the door.

"Mr. Holmes said you can go right up." her voice was nervous as if she was feeling insecure.

Two men, clearly bodyguards, walk into the apartment, leading the way to Charles Augustus Magnussen.

Stopping near Sherlock, one of the bodyguards waits for Sherlock's authorization to check if he had any arms on him. "Oh, go ahead," Sherlock says as if it was a regular occurrence in his life.

Another one looks at John "Sir?"

"Oh, he’s fine." the detective replies for John. Arms? Come on... a scalpel and a stethoscope maybe!

"Er, I ... right. I should probably tell you ..." the doctor explains... right before the goon found a flick-knife and the tire lever.

Sherlock looks confused at the sight of John 'arsenal'. A tire lever, really?

"I can vouch for this man. He’s a doctor. You know who I am, you probably checked beforehand and know who he is." Which is better than me, Sherlock adds to himself. "Don’t you, Mr. Magnussen? I understood we were meeting at your office."

Magnussen looks around the living room and says, "This is my office. Well, it is now."

He sits on the sofa and scrutinizes John for a moment while a list of details passes through his eyes.

Sherlock frowns, not understanding what the man is doing.

"Redbeard. Hum... Interesting."

The detective blinks rapidly before being able to regain his composure. Why does Magnussen talk about Redbeard? What kind of sick game this is?

"Sorry. You were probably talking?"

"I ... I was trying to explain that I’ve been asked to act on behalf of ..."

But once more Magnussen stops listening to asks one of the security men. "Bathroom?"

"Along from the kitchen, sir."

"Okay."

Sherlock, not wanting the man to get the upper hand continues. "I’ve been asked to negotiate the return of those letters... I’m aware you do not make copies of sensitive documents ..."

"The bathroom, is it like the rest of the flat?" Magnussen interrupts again, turning to one of his men.

"Yes, sir."

With a sigh, he states, "Maybe not, then."

"Am I acceptable to you as an intermediary?" Sherlock was still trying to accomplish his mission. John was fascinated by his patience. God, I'm not the one who talks and I am 2 seconds away from punching the bastard in the face to erase that cold smile.

"Mr. Magnussen, am I acceptable to you as an intermediary?" his friend says louder.

"Lady Elizabeth Smallwood. I like her. She’s English, with a spine. The best thing about the English... You’re so domesticated. All standing around, apologizing... keeping your little heads down."

He then proceeds to the fireplace where one of his guards promptly removes the screen and he urinates into it!

"You can do what you like here. No one’s ever going to stop you. A nation of herbivores. I’ve interests all over the world but, er, everything starts in England. If it works here... I’ll try it in a real country."

After he wipes his hands, he finally answers Sherlock. "Tell Lady Elizabeth I might need these letters, so I’m keeping them. Goodbye."

He walks to the door and turns one last time toward John and Sherlock. He puts his hand in his pocket and laughs as he pulls out some letters. "Anyway, they’re funny.” Then he steps outside, one of the guards closing the door after them.

John was the first to react with a furious, "Jesus!"

"Did you notice the one extraordinary thing he did?"

"Wh... There was a moment that kind of stuck in the mind, yeah." he replies with a gesture in the direction of the fireplace even if Sherlock was not looking at him. Kind of hard to miss!

"Exactly – when he showed us the letters!" he grins.

"... Okay."

"So he’s brought the letters to London – so no matter what he says, he’s ready to make a deal. Now, Magnussen only makes a deal once he’s established a person’s weaknesses – the ‘pressure point,’ he calls it. So, clearly he believes I’m a drug addict and no serious threat. I’ve been working exclusively on this for the last month. My email account is bursting but I can't take on other cases as long as this is not finished. This is why I was in the drug den, so it was time well spent! And, of course, because he’s in town tonight, the letters will be in his safe in his London office while he’s out to dinner with the Marketing Group of Great Britain from seven ’til ten.”

"How-how do you know his schedule?"

"Because I do. Right – If you still want to be a part of this I’ll see you tonight. I’ve got some shopping to do."

"What’s tonight?"

"I’ll text instructions. Give me your phone number."

God give me patience! "I didn't change it, still the same old number."

"Hum? I don't have the time to check, I can find it if you want but it would be quicker if you simply give it to me." I could ask Janine but seriously, what was the man's problem?

"And don't bring a knife or a tire lever. Probably best not to do any arm-spraining, Billy told me how you injured him when we left the den, but we’ll see how the night goes." Sherlock went down the stairs and called a taxi.

"You’re just assuming I��m coming along?"

"I still don't know why you were there this morning and why you’re thinking you ought to check on me, but you definitively need more action in your life and you’re not as dimwitted as most of NSY. Time for you to get out of the house and do more exercise, the cycling isn’t doing it. See you later!" he adds with a smile.

He opens the cab door and gets in, leaving a mystified John on the pavement.

A few seconds later, Sherlock's phone buzzes with a text. “Here you go, you inconsiderate git, is that enough to get my number back in your directory? Text me later if you really want me around.”

“I can’t believe the guts of the man and where does he found my number?” The detective said out loud in the taxi. Looking at his phone, he clicks to save the number in his directory only to realize that it is already there under the name 'John'. He can't find any conversation as he regularly wipes the memory of is phone, clearing texts and emails as soon as possible.

Curious, he closes his eyes for a quick visit to his Mind Palace but found nothing.

His focus went back to Magnussen and the task ahead.

THE DUCK AVENGER PK2: #15 THE TRUE ENEMY

AKA “Kids, I'm going to tell you an incredible story: The story of how I met your mother”

Right now, the Avenger is wearing a hole in Lyo’s carpet. As per status quo, he’s still confused as to what Everett is up to. They used to be friends, now they’re enemies, except when they’re allies… sometimes Everett seems to be what he presents himself as, an entrepreneur who created an economic empire thanks to his inventions or a criminal with some kind of planet-wide scheme.

Lyo finishes the sentence, pointing out that the Avenger has been repeating this over and over again for weeks. Lyo also thinks the Avenger is starting to sound like Agnus. Rude.

The Avenger takes a moment to ask for Lyo’s opinion, but he can’t add much. He has collected everything they have on Everett in the computer, so they have it easily accessible. So we get a quick summary of Everett’s greatest hits, microchips in the brain, weird antennas, the North Pole thing… nothing that seems friendly, and yet nowhere near the kind of devastation Everett could manage if he wanted to.

And then there’s Korrina and Juniper. The Avenger notes despite Korrina’s hostility, he owes her his life. Then there’s the seemingly sweet Juniper, who more and more seems to give no fucks about anyone but herself. The body-switch incident was an eye-opener on that.

The Avenger decides it’s enough. They need to start somewhere if they’re going to figure this out, and they’re going to start with the device from the North Pole. But first they have to find it.

Over at Ducklair Enterprises, Everett is telling his two underlings that they better make sure said device gets where it’s supposed to go, Ducklair Enterprises. Birgit Q is responsible for transport. Anymore Boring will be the one to receive it, and make sure there’s a lab ready.

The minions leave that meeting needling each other, while Everett throws a pity party.

Even excluding genuine accidents, at least 60% of that is still your own fault.

Everett notes that “family” is an inappropriate term for him and Juniper, before starting a rant about how he’s super-rich, and can basically ruin entire countries if he wanted to. But what he really wants is a family of mutual love and support.

Instead he was forced to abandon everything, home planet, his wife, to save his daughters, with the result that Juniper barely speaks to him and who knows where Korinna is?

We do, of course. Korinna is busy training the kids she’s responsible for to be perfect little robots. She warns them she can see them no matter where they are, and sends them in to be with their parents and a family friend.

Said family friend has a dog, who just can’t wait to play with the two kids again, but the kids inform their parents and friend that they can’t waste time on useless animals. They should only focus on important things.

The adults react accordingly.

At Duckmall, the competition to be boss is heating up. Donald claims he hasn’t thought of it, but Fitzroy calls him a liar. Rupert also has his mind on other things, like his date with Stella. He leaves them to it. As does Donald, who really has more important things to worry about.

Lyo has located the device. It’s just been delivered at the pier, where a small army and Birgit is waiting for it. The Avenger tries to come up with a plan, but he’s spotted by some security robots. No that he’s busted, he decides to just punch his way through.

Birgit tries to shoot him, and she’s not really open for talking about this either. She’s not letting him get in the way, and uses a secret weapon to trap the Avenger in a “blob-ball”, and then dropkick him into the sea.

I just love the confused seagulls. It’s the kind of detail that just makes a page.

At Ducklair Manor, Everett has straight up trashed his office, and freaked out Juniper more than a little from the looks of it.

And so the lord said to ye... you’re really not helping your case here.

He then decides it’s time for some real talk with Juniper. Juniper says it’s not the time, but Everett insists. While it might be difficult for him to talk about this, especially with Juniper unwilling to listen… Juniper interrupts, declaring it her fault and asking if that makes him happy.

Not really.

Everett took them from their home, their mother, and them brought them to Earth where he forced them to grow up in a machine. He stole entire years from them.

Everett objects, saying that while that’s what it looks like, he was forced to. He grabs Juniper, who tells him to let her go. He does, and Juniper goes back to her chair. Everett takes another one, finally getting to the point. He’d like for Korinna to be there too, but since that’s not possible, he at least wants to explain the situation to Juniper.

Now, what does she remember about Corona?

Juniper says it was beautiful, and Everett agrees. Corona had managed to balance technology and nature, leading to a high quality of life and welfare. This was the result of centuries of hard work, lead by a rigidly structured government.

There was the Queen, who had final word on every law, and was elected by a parliament, composed of representatives from every city state on Corona. One more, important detail, every member of the government had to be a woman.

I just love this throne room.

Because, while all Coronans have mental powers, the women were much stronger, capable of controlling their emotions in order to make decisions for the common good, ignoring the suffering of individuals, even if it was family, or themselves.

This, of course, required a lot of traning.

FINALLY.

Everett was hunting insects with a freeze gun, as you do, and a fascinating one just landed on their mom’s shoulder. She seems unimpressed by his explanation, so he introduces himself, Everett Ducklair, aeronautical scientist, and she has to be a new member of parliament, following the course of emotional self-control.

Since she wasn’t startled when he shot at her, he challenges her to a “see who laughs first” contest.

Dork.

So, at a guess, women are supposed to be in control of themselves at all times and they’re in charge of all politics... wonder if that has a side effect of expecting guys to be less mature? I mean, if the deal is that they literally can’t reach the level of self-control women can, then you might get a society that basically takes “girls mature faster than boys” even further than RL earth does.

*points at Weight of Memories* I mean, Everett was pretty much adopted.

She laughs, then argues that making faces isn’t fair. True, but if making faces is all it takes to make you crack, you might wanna work a little harder on that self-control thing. He offers to buy her a djufango shake as an apology. She agrees and introduces herself as “Serifa”.

Actually, you introduced yourself as Everett, but whatever.

Everett tells Juniper that he fell hard for Serifa, sure that underneath the cold exterior there was a living heart, full of feelings. My, aren’t we poetic. They started seeing each other, and soon became lovers.

Two moons.

Over time, both moved up in the world, but managed to keep a happy life together.

Until it turned out that queen Artana V had secretly created a family. The queen was not supposed to have a husband or children, she was supposed to be entirely focused on the responsibility of command. Artana didn’t have complete control of her feelings, and that was a real scandal. The queen had to resign and the parliament had to chose a new queen.

All the parliament members wanted to be elected, Serifa included.

You’re both so selfish. The complete lack of regard for what the other one might be feeling... which she points out, to be fair, but looking at this entire issue, I’m not gonna be surprised if the attitude is common on this planet.

You know, if you want to be chosen for a job that demands no emotion, no family ties whatsoever… maybe dump your boyfriend. Or at least not have him pick you up. Having a Plan B is nice and all, but not when Plan B straight up disqualifies you from said job. Find a new one later, if you fail.

And it seems kinda mean to not break up when what you really want is… well, definitely not a family. Though, I think world building wise, it could make sense that people try to live as normally as possible, even with the strict emotional control, but if they get a shot at being queen, it’s accepted that they drop all emotional ties to be the queen.

But even if that’s true, if the choice is between woman A, who has a boyfriend, and Woman B, who doesn’t, I figure woman B just earned herself a crown.

Serifa is unhappy at not being chosen, while Everett is thrilled. He had other plans, which would have been sadly interrupted if Serifa had been chosen as queen.

That same night he proposes.

I get the impression these two are not on the same level when it comes to this relationship.

Serifa gets over her disappointment real quick though, and is seemingly happy to accept the proposal. So they get married, buy a house and have kids, because that’s what you do, I guess. The happiness lasts for a few years more, and then the problems started.

Everett and the girls were outside and they found an animal. Korinna and Juniper takes it with them home, asking Serifa if they can keep it. She says no, telling them to go study. She and Everett then has a fight.

Everett doesn’t see anything wrong with letting the kids get used to caring for animals, while Serifa does. How can the kids learn to be as unemotional as their culture demands if Everett goes around teaching them to care?

On one hand, there’s no way every woman can be a member of the government, so the same level emotional control might not be necessary for all of them, even if it’s probably something most want to achieve on some level, or at least it is expected of them even if they don’t go into government.

And a world like this, with a single queen as the final arbiter of law, where people are expected to supress emotion and where the greater good is explicitly more important than individual people has to be fairly authoritarian. Standing out in a way that’s not generally approved of might be really bad for you, so you might end up with a question of not just a career in government vs. emotional health, but your life in general vs. emotional health.

That’s enough speculaion, I think.

The main reason Everett is causing problems is that after the scandal with Artana V, the Parliament has decided that future members of the government must be educated more severely than before. And whatever that means for the general population, it does mean that anyone who really wants their kids to have a chance at being queen is going to have to step up their game.

So Serifa does. Korinna and Juniper will be isolated from their peers and home schooled, under her supervision. So she throws out all their toys and brings in a robot to teach them.

Everett apparently have no say in this. A general thing on Corona, or just this family?

As soon as Everett has the chance, he allows the kids to play video games and programs the robot-teacher so that when Serifa checks, it will look like the kids did the work they were supposed to.

That seems like a bad idea, both education wise, even is mom is going nuts, you still need one, and because all Serifa has to do is ask the kids a question about their schoolwork.

Or because eventually, mommy’s going to come home early.

But who could have predicted this?

Everett takes the blame, to Serifa’s complete lack of surprise. Everett again starts objecting to their daughters’ education depending on a robot, which is currently sweeping the floor. Serifa says this nonsense is over, and they should all follow her.

She brings them to her home office and shows them what the Parliament has planned. They’ve chosen 20 girls, one of which will become queen in the future. To make sure they won’t get up to what Artana V did, the girls will be put to sleep inside an experimental machine that will teach them all the facts they need to rule, and no emotion whatsoever.

Oh, the irony.

Serifa has made sure both Korinna and Juniper are among the 20 girls.

So what happens if they don’t get chosen? Actually, since there’s only one queen anyway, what happens to the 19 that don’t get chosen? Is it a heir and spare deal, except it’s a queen and her 19 spares? Or “hey, at least one of them has to come out right”?

Everett did not agree to this, but the new queen has already made it a law.

Well, I think that answers my previous question about parental rights.

The very next day, a special squad will come to pick up the girls and take them to a secret place to begin the treatment. So that’s a no on this being something you can volunteer your kids for. Serifa insists that one of the girls will be able to have what she didn’t.

So, either this obsession was brought on by the opportunity, or she’s been playing a real long game. Either way, it’s time to get the hell out of there. That night, Everett makes sure Serifa won’t notice by putting some kind of force field around their bed, as he takes the kids and runs.

He takes the kids to the research center he’s in charge of, where he was working on a prototype for an intergalactic spaceship that had yet to be tested. So experimental machine vs. untested spaceship!

Everett chose the planet most like Corona, in the closest galaxy, and, well, we know how that went.

That seems like the obious place to look as soon as anyone notices the missing spaceship, but time was definitely an issue here.

In the present, Everett finishes his story, hoping Juniper will understand. She asks him to leave, seeming confused by the new information. Everett does, also hoping he’ll get to tell Korinna what happened as well.

Korinna is putting her charges to bed, taking away their toys and turning off the light against the kids’ wishes, telling them they’ll be punished if they disobey her.

The kids’s father, having noticed the strange behavior earlier, seems to have been keeping an eye on them, and goes in to the kids, turning the light back on. He says he’ll talk to “Judith” tomorrow.

This seems like a reflection of Serifa and Everett. Korinna, not knowing what happened back then, is acting like the parent she thinks she can still trust, and that’s Serifa. Which is tragic when the exact thing they’re furious at ther father for is something their mother would have done on purpose.

Meanwhile, the kids’s father is clearly the one we’re supposed to side with, and he’s basically acting like Everett would. Which feels... okay yeah, he’s the better parent, compared to the low bar Serifa set here, buuut...

The story Everett is telling here is info Juniper should have been given the moment she was lucid enough to understand it. It’s understandable that it’s a difficult conversation to have. You know what is probably more difficult? Waking up on a different planet, having gone from a small child to an adult over night, and then realizing your father took you away from everything you knew for... reasons! And also, your sister, who was with you when you father kidnapped you, is missing.

Of course, it would have been a way less dramatic reveal if this came earlier, considering that it answers several of the driving questions of this arc.

And character wise, Everett making a mess of personal relationships is not something I’m gonna argue with.

Still, the reflection of Korinna and what’s-his-name to Serifa and Everett as bad parent, good parent, feels kind of hollow, but taking it as an echo of the simpler times of the past, it still works.

Back at the docks, the Avenger has managed to get out of the blob and back on land. He takes off after Birgit and the alien device, and now he’s the one who’s done messing around.

At least there’s no one else on the road.

He blasts them. They shoot back, and when he tries talking, Birgit runs him over. He’s fine, hiding behind a shield, but not the shooting war in on. The Avenger manages to slow down the truck Birgit’s in, but they crash, straight into Duckmall.

Fitzroy is rather confused.

Birgit and driver gets the car back out of the mall, but end up crashing into the trailer they’re escorting. The Avenger, seeing that the two are fine, takes the opportunity to look inside the trailer, hoping to grab the device.

It’s empty.

Birgit shows up again, aiming a gun at him, but is as surprised as he is when he asks if she often spends this much effort defending empty trailers.

She had no idea what’s going on, and finally admits that despite working for and with Everett for a long time now, she doesn’t know him at all. And now he’s even made a fool out of her by not trusting her with what he was really doing. This seems to be the final straw of… something, as sits down on her knees, tells the Avenger she doesn’t know anything anymore and to please leave.

Everett’s people skills in action.

The next day at Duckmall, Fitzroy uses the situation last night to pretend he was a hero. Donald is annoyed, but still has other things on his mind.

Korinna is having a bad start to her day, as she’s being fired. She’s not allowed to say goodbye to the kids, but when she notices the two staring at her from a window, she gives them a wave, before walking away crying.

And she really liked that job too.

At Ducklair Manor, Juniper is also crying. Because she’s still processing what Everett told her or because Korinna is?

And at Century, the Avenger is asking the same questions as he was at the beginning.

1. Describe the character’s height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy? I’d say average. She’s 5′5. 2. How old is she? Sixteen. 3. Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well or does she slouch? She carries herself pretty well. 4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? She’s in decent shape, no disabilities. 5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? Pretty graceful and softly. 6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror? She’s very pretty, I think. She thinks of herself as average. 7. Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred? Light and clear. 8. Describe her hair: color, texture, style. Wavy. It falls a little past her waist, an orange-brown color. She considers herself a redhead even though her hair is more naturally brown. (Shh, don’t tell anyone.) It looks like this or this but a bit longer. 9. What color are her eyes? Amber. 10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features? A light dusting of freckles. 11. What are her chief tension centers? Her neck. 12. What is the character’s wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit? She dresses in a lot of warm colors. Pretty casual. She likes sweaters, boots, leggings, jeans best -- but in California she obviously doesn’t get to rock those much.***** 13. Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them? She likes slightly oversized shirts sometimes. But for the most part, yes. 14. Does she dress the same on the job as she does in her free time? If not, what are the differences? She has to wear her high school uniform but she wears what she wants to volunteer in or on a usual basis. 15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando? Briefs. Sometimes boxers.

1. What does this character’s voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse? A tiny bit raspy. Sweet but mature. Soft. I mostly hear Debby Ryan* with a bit of Fawn* in my mind. 2. How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate? Soft, evenly, easy. She gets to rambling excitedly sometimes and talks faster or louder. 3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics? None that I can think of. 4. What languages does she speak, and with how much fluency? English fluently. 5. Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations? Nah. 6. Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words? She is okay at impromptu. 7. Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change? I’d say closer to eloquent. Less so when she’s feeling hyper/eager.

MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL !!

1. How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart? Fairly intelligent. A mixture of both. 2. Does she think on her feet, or does she need time to deliberate? She thinks on her feet. It gets her in trouble. 3. Describe the character’s thought process. Is she more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? Intuitive but she can come up with some good ideas. It depends on the situation. 4. What kind of education has the character had? She’s a junior so that’s it as of now. 5. What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about? Anything that comes to animals. Especially pets or woodland creatures. She’s thinking about looking into veterinary practice. 6. Is she an introvert or an extrovert? Extrovert. 7. Describe the character’s temperament. Is she even-tempered or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven? She is fairly even-tempered and usually happy. If she learns of an injustice, that’s a different story. Cheerful and driven. But also laid-back at the same time...? 8. How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? Enthusiastic. 10. Which is her default: fight or flight? She doesn’t back down. 11. Describe the character’s sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks? Pranks, for sure, but she isn’t picky about what makes her laugh. She loves jokes. 12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does she deal with them? She doesn’t have any. 13. What moments in this character’s life have defined her as a person? I’m not sure that any specific moments have changed who she is. She’s always been a passionate, nurturing, rebellious person. 14. What does she fear? Not being able to make a difference. 15. What are her hopes or aspirations? To make a difference, and own as many pets as possible. 16. What is something she doesn’t want anyone to find out about her? Fawn is a pretty open book. She isn’t keeping any secrets.

RELATIONSHIPS !!

1. Describe this character’s relationship with her parents. Fawn has always had a good relationship with her parents. She’s been daddy’s little girl from day one, as a child she was almost always in his arms. She is a lot like her mother. Both of them love, support and accept her the way that parents should and they are proud of her for being someone that takes a stand. They are what she misses the most about home, other than her fur babies. She doesn’t blame them for sending her away, their hands were tied, she just hopes they know she loves them the same. 2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like? No, and she’s happy with her life how it is -- she’s the center of her parents’ worlds this way. But it might’ve been cool to have a brother or sister to torment with pranks and braid her hair for her. 3. Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can’t stand? She doesn’t see her mom’s family much. She has a lot of uncles, aunts and cousins on her dad’s side. They come around for holidays so just a few times throughout the year, but she loves all of them. 4. Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them? The Pixie Hollow girls are her sisters. 5. Who is the character’s best friend? How did they meet? Tink, Vidia, Iridessa, (probably Rosetta) and Silvermist, obviously. Also Oliver is a pure bean that she adores. She met them all at Walt. 6. Does she have other close friends? Does ‘every animal she meets’ count? 7. Does she make friends easily, or does she have trouble getting along with people? She makes friends easily. 8. Which does she consider more important: family or friends? Both. 9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once? She is single. The only boyfriend/husband she had was in elementary school when the kids paired off. 10. Is she currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse? She is not. 11. Who was her first crush? Who is her latest? She’s not crushing on anyone as of late, and I don’t think she’s had very many lasting crushes in her life. She might see a boy holding a puppy and think “wow he’s cute” but then she gets distracted by the puppy and forgets he’s there. 12. What does she look for in a romantic partner? An animal lover. It is very important that the person she’s with cares about having pets and lots of them. If not, it is not going to work. Sorry. Other than that she only wants to have feelings for the person and for them to be reciprocated. 13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does she relate to them? If no, does she want any? She doesn’t, but she’d love to be a mom one day! 14. Does she have any rivals or enemies? Not anyone right now. 15. What is the character’s sexual orientation? Where does she fall on the Kinsey scale? She is most likely heterosexual. A zero or a one. She would never be against being with someone solely because of gender but she’s only ever been attracted to/crushed on males. 16. How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her? She isn’t ready for sex right now. She’s only sixteen and she has no love interest. It isn’t something she thinks about all that much. She will worry about it when she’s in a relationship -- a long term relationship -- and she feels safe and comfortable with someone and wants to take that next step. 17. What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits? Heck if she knows.

BELIEFS !!

1. Do you know your character’s astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does she fit type? She’s an October baby, born on the third, so she’s a Libra. I think there are other signs that would fit her better. 2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in her life? She’s Christian. She used to go to church on Sundays and the occasional Wednesday back at home, but she was shushed a lot for talking during service and for awhile known as the girl that chased a rat throughout the pews. It’s important to her to believe there is a God and an afterlife but if she’s being honest, she’s never read the bible and she has no immediate plans to. 3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it? Help those that cannot help themself. Be kind. Live your own life. I don’t think anything could change those. 4. How does she regard beliefs that differ from hers? Is she tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent? As long as those beliefs aren’t hurting people, she’s tolerant and curious. 5. What prejudices does she hold? Are they irrational or does she have a good reason for them? She’s prejudice against people that do not like any kind of animal. How can someone not like animals?

DAILY LIFE !!

1. What is the character’s financial situation? Is she rich, poor, comfortable, in debt? Average. Her family gets by. 2. What is her social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected her? She’s not necessarily popular but she is friendly and outgoing. She has never had to worry about where to eat lunch or who to walk with in the halls, here or at her old school. 3. Where does she live? House, apartment, trailer? Is her home her castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does she share it with others? Her dorm, and she has decorated it in warm colors with photos of pets and family and she has those little lights strung around her bed and it’s all organized and cozy and cute. She loves it. I love it. The dorm of my dreams. 4. Besides the basic necessities, what does she spend her money on? Helping animals in need. 5. What does she do for a living? Is she good at it? Does she enjoy it, or would she rather be doing something else? She’s a student right now. She’s good at some classes, others not so much, but she does more than enough to get by. When she isn’t doodling cat faces all over her test pages. 6. What are her interests or hobbies? How does she spend her free time? She likes to volunteer at animal shelters. She enjoys reading and decorating, doodling. But for the most part if she’s got free time on her hands, she’s going to be outside climbing trees and talking to birds. 7. What are her eating habits? Does she skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods? I think she has average eating habits. She probably eats healthier than most teenagers, opting for fruit over candy bars on a normal basis and snacking on veggie straws over chips. She doesn’t drink alcohol. Most of her meals she either makes herself because they are simple or orders from town.

Lost Without a Cause

Truthfully I have wanted to write a blog since I could remember, it’s that safe place where you can just say what you want, either people will have been where you are now or will never understand. Right now I feel like the lost cause. Everytime I am happy I manage to seriously screw it up. Have you ever just like you don’t matter and that if no one ever met you they wouldn’t feel like something is missing. Well I am that person, that you could have me in your life for ten years and one day I just won’t be there and I promise you won’t feel like something is missing. I have a son, and I love my son, he is so cute, very talkative and he means the world to me and I want to do better for him but every single time I do something I mess up and everyone reminds me how I am not good enough. So I stopped caring for my son, I don’t have an attachment to him anymore, I don’t feel good enough to be his mom and it sucks cause that’s all I ever wanted as dumb as it sounds is to be a teen mom, to take care of a child and get to cherrish my child longer. I always wanted to be the understanding mom, the one who would never give up on you and be there till the very end. I think I would love him more if his father was never apart of my life (yes i do understand that means he wouldn’t be here) however his father was my best friend, and I believed we would always be able to parent together and I was never scared but truth is we suck at parenting together like the world is better off on fire!The night I brought my son home from the hospital was the night that my “husband” cut his beard off, the night he let his best friend become more, the night i cut my hair but most of all the night i realized i would never be important to anyone that no matter how hard i try i am just that girl who fucked her life up. I don’t hate his dad by all means, he’s a great dad, i just hate the choices he made, and the way he left me feeling. What if I am never a good enough mom and my son blames me for his dad and I splitting for the rest of his life? I finally moved on and if he could have his what if, then maybe I should finally do what I have wanted since the day i met him, running into him at walmart was no accident that was fate. If you ask me, you can fall in love with someone across a crowded restraunt, that i do know and don’t let anyone tell you different. Meeting him was fate, him being my boss, that was destiny, but us being together that was our choice, and a year later I finally took that chance and I won’t take it back cause meeting him was the best thing that has happened to me in a long time. Love scares me, but he made it a lot less scary and I wish he was more patient with me and could see me struggle and that the reason he would fall alseep before me at night was becasue I was scared to go to bed cause right now we are okay but if i wake up in the moring its a new day and who knows i may lose him forever and being alone scares me but being without him scared me more. I grew quite found of him and I could hinestly say he made me happy, i just needed to get over my issues from the past and I let those define our relationship, i never gave us a real shot i always focused on the problems. He left me, because of my own doing, my “husband” told me to stop being a pussy and to finall kill myself and maybe he was right I am the suicidal one, i am the one who fucked everything up, they both tried to love me to there fullest but i never let them love me, i oushed them away every chance i got cause i dont want to get hurt again but all that really did was hurt me. I need to learn to cherrish myself everyday. Hey spongebob, if your reading this I love you and I may not be shouting it to the whole world but whoever reads this knows. I fell in love with you across a crowded restraunt a year ago when you showed up late, working with you and growing with you wasa the best and i will forever love our memories, i will forever care about you and want the best for you, always try to not hit any cars and don’t park next to wrecked ones, but most of all don’t forget to be extra judgy at the mall when you see a third wheel cause odds are we were right, and don’t forget that preppy douchebags aren’t your style. Follow your dreams and never give up thats where I went wrong. Dear ex husband, i believed you when you told me you loved me, i trusted you and I gave you my all, take care of her and don’t hurt her like you did me, i will always care what you have to say, and when you say something i will always take it to heart. I wish I was good enough I wish you saw what he saw in me, cause mabe then you wouldn’t be with her and we could have had that family we wanted but truth is i didnt fuck up, you always say i “never” do anything wrong but you know what i wasnt the one who cheated, i wasnt the one who threw a marriage away, i didnt give up our family and most of all i didn’t cheat on my new lover on my wife for almost two months cause I didn’t want it, you swear you were the one who shut that down, truth i told her baby daddy, her sister, my boyfriend, my mom, my dad, my grandma, her brother in law and most of all my best friend, i had my way i am why she found out, i made sure she found out, not to hurt her but to finally give you a taste of your fucking medicine, you are a liar, a cheater, an ass, a fucking prick but most of all your a low life loser who couldn’t keep a job and the one you have now will probably last another week or month but truth i don’t want you back your no good for me your not worth it, but you had me going up until today, i will always chose him over you, cause i stopped fooling around cause i found what i wanted, maybe you come back but it will be too late, the damage is done, you hurt me to the point of no return and sadly i did that to him, so now i am not any better than you. You told me to kill myself and as easy as it would be I won’t let you win, just know i love you but love has its limits and i hit mine, its maxed out. The only reason i am still here is because of him. I fucked up and my life is a joke but truth i don’t have much to love for, if I never logged back on again, if I never said hi to any of you again would you notice? Doubtful, find someone who makes it worth it. If any of you made it this far, know this, you are worth it, i may not know you personally or at all but there is going to be one person that misses you even if you think you are alone, no matter how much i hate my ex i will never let him be alone or do it alone, no one should ever be alone, me i have no one but you need a friend i will always be there. It may just be your mom, your dad, the kid from 3rd grade that you haven’t talked to in 10 years but they sure as hell still wonder how you are doing. Your never alone I promise there is atleast one person who will miss you, people who don’t know you all to well they will miss you, those who have seen you at school or teachers, your not alone, cause your face being in the paper and reading that they killed themselves that will kill more than one person i promise that, even your worse enemy doesn’t hate you enough to watch you go through that. For me I can’t talk about my feelings but I can write about them with no problem, find your way that works best for you. As i come to an end i need to say one thing, i feel better off dead but maybe its just a feeling its not an act, but most all babe, im sorry for hurting you, for not listening to you and for fighting, i was being selfish and i put myself first when it was you that needed to be put first. I love you and i am sorry but most off all i hope some day i end up at your new business and we fall in love again in a crowded place, until then you will be in my heart where i will keep you forever, I love you and I can’t say it enough!
