The way some people characterise Buffy in fics like you described genuinely put me off Buffy fandom for years, it was absolutely everywhere, in Spuffy fics, in faith/buffy fics, it felt like I couldn't read a fic without the obligatory 'Buffy apologises to whoever the fuck for being so mean' and I just stopped, it was so baffling
For real its so weirdly pervasive. It genuinely blows my mind bc I totally get the urge to use your fic to call out a character/plot point you don't like, more power to you. Like I'm constantly imagining rewrites of the scenes where Xander is at his most insufferable but no one in-show is verbalising obvious holes in his bullshit (my big one is that besides a one off line from Buffy that everyone in the show ignores and a DELETED line from Giles is that NO ONE calls him on his absolutely infuriating "I was jealous of Angel being with the girl I like and I'm gonna have the gall to pretend it was bc I saw him turning evil coming" BULLSHIT)
But like. Buffy? You came out of this show and the person you had beef with and want to call out is BUFFY? THE VAMPIRE SLAYER? The protagonist of all time? Bc she's mean sometimes :( people try to apologise for trying to kill her and she's so unsympathetic :( she carries out her responsibility as the Slayer whether she wants to or not even if the person she's targeting is a character I like :( why won't she apologise. why won't she apologise. why does she insist on taking up space. why can't she just be nice all the time. yes my ao3 tag is princessspuffy why do you ask. yeah I know their relationship is abusive but I think Spike would forgive her :)

Oh nooo... wlw are kinda eyerolling and sighing that a show got wrongfully marketed as "queerest Star Wars ever" and is now just, essentially, R/ylo 2.0... After a Lot of really potentially interesting women have been ganked over and over again, within the show.
And now a number of us wlw are a lil tongue and cheek about how we saw the objectification and hyper-sexualization going on with Yord within fandom, only for it to now morph over to Qimir... Oh, bro, what are we gonna Do?

Deadpool and Wolverine movie spoiler warning
It doesn’t make sense that Cassandra Nova let Deadpool and Wolverine go. Like the entire ending of the movie depended on Cassandra just not caring that they were there?? Not knowing?? Ignoring that her main characteristics in the comics are being the opposite of Charles Xavier so she is just evil to be evil bc she likes being evil, she clearly has an insane amount of power and can just pull someone’s skin off their body with no effort.
While in a headlock by Deadpool, she is only talking about how she’s about to kill them and she just??? Doesn’t?? She could have quickly disposed of Wolverine and Deadpool, but instead she sends all of the Deadpools to kill them? It feels like they introduced an incredibly powerful villain for the sake that she is an interesting character, and then just forgot to figure out why she wouldn’t use her powers to destroy Wolverine and Deadpool.
This wasn’t my only issue with some of the writing for this movie and I did enjoy watching it, but god this bugged me

bumble wc is just a piece of writing from this series that TRULY astounds me. like the characters do not acknoledge that shes a living person whatsoever once she becomes a "nuisance" (she is fat and a house pet). and on top of that, to have turtle tail turn her back on her as well??>?? because gray wing has it bad for her and so we have to exterminate the "obstacle" in the way of their straight romance???
like i expect gray wing and clear sky to be dicks but..why would TURTLE TAIL rationally allow her friend (who lived through the same abuse as she) be shunned away from the moor group??
its some of the most mean spirited shit in this entire series and it only exists as a plotline...for what reason??? cause "kittypets are bad you dont want to be a kittypet"?? its not like you remind us every fucking arc erin hunter. because we're supposed to like gray wing and they really wanted him to serve as an adoptive parent to turtle's litter?? like..what???
i dont even have a real point to this post i just want to express my confusion cause what even was the goal. it does nothing but make the entire cast abuse-enabling discriminatory assholes who are willing to send outsiders to easily preventable deaths. and we're supposed to agree with these jackasses??? ERIN HUNTER WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY TO YOUR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AUDIENCE???

"I mean, keeping Nexus as a villain sounds interesting but with how villains are usually treated he's probably going to die-"
"We have to kill him." -Solar
"… Aw, damn it."
Anyway, looking at Nexus with big ol' eyes. I hate him (i love his character so much I want to look him under a microscope)
Thougghh some specific lines I do find interesting.
"I realized something. Problems don't need to exist if I get rid of them. If I have nobody to love, I don't need to care when they're gone. So, I ripped out my emotions, stomped on them, and burned them with this new power."
Sounds to me like he was getting exhausted with caring and stressing out about the people he loved so much. If he did love them. I'm assuming he did, despite what Nexus says. (Though it's a cool thought if he actually didn't. Mixing up love with the feelings of needing to protect and care for the people around him because he thought he needed to do that. "Loving" his family because he thought that's what he was supposed to do.)
Maybe when Solar died and he realized how much despair it brought him, he thought how he would survive if his other siblings died. If losing one hurt so bad, what would happen if he lost the others? He wouldn't be able to live with that. So distancing himself and cutting them off entirely fixes that problem. (But he still cares. He's trying to be apathetic but deep down he still cares. Maybe, I don't know his thought process anymore at this point.)
I'm assuming the dark/negative star power is not only killing him, is also accelerating his terrible mental state, sending him down a deeper rabbit hole. It's still him doing all of this villain stuff though so like... shrug.
"I was weak. Now I have something you can never compare to."
Tired of being hurt? Tired of constantly trying to survive life because of the antagonists? Because if he stands at the top, then nobody can cause him any more pain.
"Deep down, I think I always was this."
I want to raise my eyebrow at Nexus but also,,, it is an interesting thought. Simmering hatred(?) of the others and wanting to be stronger (to not get hurt anymore.) that was blinded by loving the others. But I also think he's bullshitting through his teeth.
But I actually really like how this is going for Nexus now, honestly. And while I'm still hoping for a redemption arc, as long as he doesn't get killed I don't mind this whole villain thing. The family having to deal with problems caused by someone they once loved? Is a really cool plotline. I feel like this entire post may be extremely obvious, but. I don't know, I'm just putting my thoughts together.

Coda and Ichor! (Catacombtale Style!)
These two don't have a *ton* of interaction in the Main story, but since Ichor and Balance are the only two characters I've fully designed, Coda gets stuck next to him, haha!
BONUS art jumpscare:
These two actually exist in another project I'm working on too called Codex, which is basically just removing the UT aspects of Catacombtale and doing a lot more worldbuilding and character design!
Coda is older in Codex and is marked by an old God (which should get him jailed or killed, as it means for everyone else) but he hides it for years and years before he finally flees the complex he's living in to go confront the gods and stop their destructive path. Meanwhile Ichor is much the same, only he's much more ready and willing to help Coda without much prompting. Here he's also sort of a Koi Fish! (His brother is a Betta Fish)
