Oh, hello VLD fandom!

So today let’s talk about stuff no one wants to talk about;

Let me start saying that I ship Klance, Shillura and I LIVE for non-binary Pidge (I don’t think they’re trans though) and Hunk is most likely ace in my view.

The reason I felt the need to make this post is because I too often see agressive posts like “do NOT interact if you ship *this* or if you’re into *this* hc!!!!” and then there’s the passive agressive ones like “idk why the fandom hates Shiro/Keith/Lance” or “I love vld but the fandom sucks”…

I just think this is so not healthy and like, why can’t you just enjoy the show in your way and let others enjoy it in their way? Seriously, what’s the struggle? Why all these generalizations? All this uncalled for rage?

So, my point is, I want to put it out there that my blog is a safe space for anyone in the fandom who ship whatever they ship and headcanon whatever they headcanon.

• You think Pidge is actually a girl rather than non-binary? Okay, we can discuss that.

• You think Lance is straight and has nothing to do with Keith? Fine.

• You ship Shidge/Sheith/etc? Not my thing but if it’s yours I don’t have a problem with it.

• You hc trans Pidge? Great.

I like this fandom. It’s not perfect, no fandom is, but it’s so not this hell hole many people told me it would be… The show’s all about friendship and overcoming differences and prejudices and oppressive/agressive systems so let’s try and follow that?

VLD Thoughts

So, I was on a tumblr hiatus while I'm working on a fic but I thought I would just check in and apparently VLD has blown up. This is what I would like to add, take it as you will: I love this show and the characters in it. I appreciate the cast and crew who are working hard to bring it to life. I would like to think that the writers and producers are trying their best but I would like to request that they get their shit together. That being said here is where I stand: They can say that Allura and Shiro and the other paladins are whatever ages they want. I base my ships off of character interaction and maturity. Shiro and Allura are portrayed as being older and more mature than everyone except Coran. They have similar reactions and thought processes; they seem to be at the same life level. Lance, Keith, and Hunk seem to be in our next age group. All acting and reacting to things in similar ways with Pidge following closely behind. An argument could be made that they fall in the same group as the others even. I get that people are concerned about the ages for ships because of laws and such but depending on where you are in the world those could be different. 16 might be the legal age versus 18. That's why I choose to ship by maturity. I know plenty of 19 year olds who are "legal" who I still would not recommend they date a 25 year old because they act like they're 16. I also know some very mature 17 to 18 year olds who could date someone older and you'd never even know. Therefore! I raise my flags high and proudly no matter what the writers come out and say, if they ever do. Klance, Shillura, Pidge can be whatever the hell they want to be whenever the hell they want to be it, Hunay for life! My ships make me happy and that's really all they're supposed to do.
