9: Were there any alternate versions of this fic?

you know like obviously i was very intimidated trying to think of what to write for your birthday and i was brainstorming with @onadarklingplain about what i should write for you (i won't share the list i was working from of things i think you love, as my second birthday gift to you hahhahah) and kay was like josh just got engaged! and i was like woah! and kay was like, what about roleplay where daniel makes josh do his proposal to him? and she meant josh and daniel directly, which would have obviously been amazing, but i thought max should be involved. so there's an alternative version of the fic where i listened to kay and it was a dosh fic proper.

(and then I said, and this is a direct quote: "It was so cute to imagine you two talking about the landoscar haunted house fic she wrote for me like wasn’t that fic the bomb dot com??? And then I pictured you guys being like “add a condom! She’ll love it!” And I did. I did love it.")

11: What do you like best about this fic?

i really like max threatening to get the map again, like in real life it would truly be my worst nightmare, but it's so cute to imagine if it's purely fictional. worse than having to listen to someone talk about golf, i'd say. like gun to my head, it you really made me chose.

Helped a friend negotiate for this awesome new electric car today. Acura ZDX A-spec AWD. This thing has 490 horsepower and gets 304 miles to a charge. Electric cars have come a long way, and best of all it's not a Swasticar!

(This is re: Shiny and New) I think I understand your In Anticipation anon now who was like, well that was very hot, but I'll have to imagine a sequel now where Max… well maybe not kills Daniel, but dumps him and finds someone who Treats Him Right instead

Hahahahaha I’m sorry, nonnie, I’m glad this one didn’t warrant murder fantasies but I’m sorry to you and to Max for what I put you both through in Shiny and New.

I guess the two things I can offer are that a. Josh is just the latest shiny and new thing that has caught Daniel’s attention. Max has waited out Daniel’s interest in large sports men before… and HE is the one in Daniel’s bed role playing his husband. So we have to not underestimate Max’s skill at winning!!! Daniel keeps finding his way back to Max and you could certainly imagine a “fell first/fell harder” scenario where he one day he sees max differently and BOOM!

And b. (tho I suspect this helps less, but just for the record) it’s so cute how you gets feel empathy for the characters and want to do murder/revenge relationships on their behalf 🥰 i like that you cared enough for max that you wanted him to have nice things.

I truly used to write the saddest stories, so any time someone says they’ve been hanging out with me since bandom days, we have to give them a LOT of credit for the things they stuck with me through. The only silver lining is that I was somewhat incompetent at executing the things I intended. I could probably do a better job now….. 😈
